Abstract
A novel azide-bridged copper compound without an auxiliary ligand has been synthesized and characterized by single-crystal diffraction analysis. The compound consists of 1D double chains with end-on (EO) azide bridges. Furthermore, the neighboring chains are connected by weak coordination bonds, which leads to the formation of a 3D architecture. Low-temperature magnetic measurements reveal that antiferromagnetic interactions are dominant, with concomitant spin-canted antiferromagnetism.

Abstract
The synthesis, crystal structure and magnetic properties of a two-dimensional nickel(ii)–manganese(ii)–azido system are described. It is an interesting molecular magnet because it exhibits long-range ferrimagnetic ordering at a Tc of 35 K and a hysteresis loop up to 20 K.

Abstract
We synthesized six Fe(iii)-Mn(iii) bimetallic compounds by self-assembling the newly developed mer-Fe cyanide PPh4[Fe(Clqpa)(CN)3]·H2O (1) and PPh4[Fe(Brqpa)(CN)3]·H2O (2) with Mn Schiff base Mn(5-Xsalen)+ cations. These compounds include [Fe(Xqpa)(CN)3][Mn(5-Ysalen)]·pMeOH·qH2O [qpaH2 = N-(quinolin-8-yl)picolinamide; salen = N,N'-ethylenebis(salicylideneiminato) dianion; X = Cl, Y = H (3); X = Cl, Y = Br (4); X = Br, Y = H (5); X = Br, Y = F (6); X = Br, Y = Cl (7); X = Br, Y = Br (8)]. When precursor 1 was used, compounds 3 and 4 were isolated to give a dinuclear entity and a linear chain structure, respectively. The reaction of precursor 2 with the Schiff bases afforded four linear Fe(iii)-Mn(iii) chain complexes. Chain chirality with P- and M-helicity emerges in 4, 7, and 8, while 5 exhibits chain helicity opposite to the previous chain complexes and 6 presents no chain helicity. Such a structural feature is heavily dependent on the interchain π-π contacts and the Fe precursor bridging unit. Chiral induction from a local ethylenediamine link of Y-salen is propagated over the chain via noncovalent π-π interactions. All the bimetallic compounds show antiferromagnetic interactions transmitted by the cyanide linkage. A field-induced metamagnetic transition is involved in 4, 7, and 8, while a field-induced two-step transition is evident in 6. From a magnetostructural viewpoint, the coupling constant is primarily governed by the Mn-Nax-Cax angle (ax = axial) in the bimetallic chain complexes composed of mer-Fe(iii) tricyanides, although the torsion angle plays a role.

Abstract
A new phenolato and μ1,1,3-azido co-bridged polynuclear manganese(iii) complex has been synthesised and characterised. The structure of the complex has been confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction analyses. The ability of the complex to catalyse the epoxidation of styrene using PhIO or NaOCl as oxidant has been studied. Results show the catalysis to occur efficiently in the presence of PhIO and NaOCl.

Abstract
The compounds [(acac)2Ru(III)(μ-H2L(2-))Ru(III)(acac)2] (rac, 1, and meso, 1') and [(bpy)2Ru(II)(μ-H2L(•-))Ru(II)(bpy)2](ClO4)3 (meso, [2](ClO4)3) have been structurally, magnetically, spectroelectrochemically, and computationally characterized (acac(-) = acetylacetonate, bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine, and H4L = 1,4-diamino-9,10-anthraquinone). The N,O;N',O'-coordinated μ-H2L(n-) forms two β-ketiminato-type chelate rings, and 1 or 1' are connected via NH···O hydrogen bridges in the crystals. 1 exhibits a complex magnetic behavior, while [2](ClO4)3 is a radical species with mixed ligand/metal-based spin. The combination of redox noninnocent bridge (H2L(0) → → → →H2L(4-)) and {(acac)2Ru(II)} → →{(acac)2Ru(IV)} or {(bpy)2Ru(II)} → {(bpy)2Ru(III)} in 1/1' or 2 generates alternatives regarding the oxidation state formulations for the accessible redox states (1(n) and 2(n)), which have been assessed by UV-vis-NIR, EPR, and DFT/TD-DFT calculations. The experimental and theoretical studies suggest variable mixing of the frontier orbitals of the metals and the bridge, leading to the following most appropriate oxidation state combinations: [(acac)2Ru(III)(μ-H2L(•-))Ru(III)(acac)2](+) (1(+)) → [(acac)2Ru(III)(μ-H2L(2-))Ru(III)(acac)2] (1) → [(acac)2Ru(III)(μ-H2L(•3-))Ru(III)(acac)2](-)/[(acac)2Ru(III)(μ-H2L(2-))Ru(II)(acac)2](-) (1(-)) → [(acac)2Ru(III)(μ-H2L(4-))Ru(III)(acac)2](2-)/[(acac)2Ru(II)(μ-H2L(2-))Ru(II)(acac)2](2-) (1(2-)) and [(bpy)2Ru(III)(μ-H2L(•-))Ru(II)(bpy)2](4+) (2(4+)) → [(bpy)2Ru(II)(μ-H2L(•-))Ru(II)(bpy)2](3+)/[(bpy)2Ru(II)(μ-H2L(2-))Ru(III)(bpy)2](3+) (2(3+)) → [(bpy)2Ru(II)(μ-H2L(2-))Ru(II)(bpy)2](2+) (2(2+)). The favoring of Ru(III) by σ-donating acac(-) and of Ru(II) by the π-accepting bpy coligands shifts the conceivable valence alternatives accordingly. Similarly, the introduction of the NH donor function in H2L(n) as compared to O causes a cathodic shift of redox potentials with corresponding consequences for the valence structure.
