Abstract
An acentric layer-pillared borate, LiB9O15·H2dap·H2O (1, dap = 1,3-diaminopropane), cotemplated by organic and inorganic cations and build by mixed oxoboron cluster units of B6O138- and B3O75-, has first been made under solvothermal conditions, in which the B6O138- clusters link each other to form 2D layers containing 9-membered ring (MR) windows, while the B3O75- clusters join together to produce 1D chains that further perform as the pillars to connect neighboring layers, resulting in a 3D layer-pillared framework with 13- and 7-MR channels located by H2dap2+ and Li+ cations, respectively. Its second harmonic generation shows a response of ∼2.1 times that of KDP (KH2PO4).

Abstract
A new acentric borate, K2 Na3 [{B6 O10 (OH)}-{B3 O4 (OH)3 }] ⋅ H2 O (1) has been made under solvothermal condition. 1 has layered structure made by B6 O13 (OH)-based chains and B3 O5 (OH)3 -bridging clusters. Second-harmonic generation (SHG) measurements reveal that 1 is a phase-matchable nonlinear optical (NLO) material, showing the SHG signal intensity of 1.8 times that of KDP (KH2 PO4 ). Besides, UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectrum shows that 1 has the short deep UV (DUV) absorption cutoff edge of 198 nm. Thermogravimetric analysis reveals it has good thermal stability. Also 1 represents firstly mixed oxoboron clusters-made 2D layered borate with NLO property.

Abstract
Crystalline materials containing hybrid inorganic–organic metal borates (complexes with oxidoborate ligands) display a variety of novel framework building blocks. The structural aspects of these hybrid metallaoxidoborates containing Cd(II), Co(II), Cu(II), Ga(III), In(III), Mn(II), Ni(II) or Zn(II) metal centers are discussed in this review. The review describes synthetic approaches to these hybrid materials, their physical properties, their spectroscopic properties and their potential applications.

Abstract
Two new borates, NaK1.5[B{B5O9(OH)}{B5O8(OH)2}1/2] (1) and Na3.5[Al{B3O6(OH)}{B5O10}1/2{BO(OH)}] (2), have been made by a solvothermal method. Structure 1 is made of two types of oxoboron clusters ([B5O9(OH)]4- and [B5O8(OH)2]3-) and BO4 tetrahedra to form a 3D porous layer, in which the [B5O9(OH)]4- clusters are bridged by BO4 groups to produce a 2D B-O layer with 11-membered ring (MR) windows, while the [B5O8(OH)2]3- clusters as 2-connected pillars join the adjacent B-O layers to make a 3-D porous layer. Structure 2 is built from two types of oxoboron clusters ([B3O6(OH)]4- and [B5O12]9-), AlO4 units and BO2(OH) triangles to produce 3D pillar-layered aluminoborate (ABO), in which the [B5O12]9- clusters are linked together to form a 2-D B-O layer; the [B3O6(OH)]4- clusters and AlO4 groups join each other to form 1D tubular ABO; and the BO2(OH) triangles act as linkers to connect the adjacent B-O layer and the ABO tubes, resulting in 3D pillar-layered ABO. Interestingly, the ABO tubes decorated with the BO2(OH) triangles act as pillars to make a 3D layer-pillared structure. UV-vis diffuse spectra indicate that both have cut-off edges below 190 nm, and the calculated band gaps are 5.75 and 5.78 eV, respectively.

Abstract
Herein, a templated borate, [Emmim][B5O6(OH)4] (denoted 1, Emmim = 1-ethyl-2,3-dimethylimidazolium), has been synthesized. It is unexpectedly observed that 1 exhibits a series of broadened luminescence curves from -183 to 75 °C, the emission intensities are measured as a decreasing function of temperature, and the line width of the PL emission is strongly enhanced when temperatures decrease below -100 °C. In addition to this, hydrogen bonding (H-B) in 1 with distinctly enlarging trends was observed as the temperature increased. The influence of temperature on H-Bs and physical properties was explored through single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, theoretical calculations, PL, and dielectric constant test. The results indicate that the temperature can impact weak H-Bs interactions and the PL can be seen as a prober to the varying of structure such as H-Bs in borate crystal.

Abstract
Two new copper borates, namely H6 [(μ4 -O)Cu4 @B20 O32 (OH)8 ]⋅25 H2 O (1) and H6 [(μ4 -O)Cu4 @B20 O32 (OH)8 ]⋅34 H2 O⋅8 H3 BO3 (2), with 3D supramolecular framework have been made under solvothermal conditions, which built by novel cubic supramolecular cages with mesoscale cavities via the H-bondings. Interestingly, the cage is assembled by [(μ4 -O)Cu4 @B20 O32 (OH)8 ] ({Cu4 @B20 }) cluster units with different point-group symmetry. Owing to extra H3 BO3 molecules participated in building the supramolecular framework, 2 has a larger cubic cage size and higher non-framework volume, leading to the cage size extended to mesoporous size set as a version of ''1 plus".

Abstract
Three new zinc phosphites, [Hapy]2[Zn3(HPO3)4] (1; apy = 4-aminopyridine), [H2hepip][Zn3(HPO3)4]·(H2O)0.25 (2; hepip = N-(2-hydroxyethyl)piperazine), and [H2tmdab][Zn3(HPO3)4] (3; tmdab = N,N,N′,N′-tetramethyl-1,3-diaminobutane), have been synthesized and characterized by infrared spectroscopy, elemental analysis, thermogravimetric analysis, and powder and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The frameworks of 1–3 are constructed from 4-connected ZnO4 tetrahedra and 3-connected HPO3 pseudo pyramids with distinct connection mode driven by different organic amine templates. There are 12-membered ring (12-MR) and 8-MR apertures in the (3,4)-connected three-dimensional architecture of 1–3. It is notable that helical chains are observed in the framework of compound 3.
