Abstract
Organic framework materials, particularly metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), graphene-organic frameworks (GOFs), and covalent organic frameworks (COFs), have led to the revolution across fields including catalysts, sensors, gas capture, and biology mainly owing to their ultra-high surface area-to-volume ratio, on-demand tunable crystal structures, and unique surface properties. While the wet chemistry routes have been the predominant synthesis approach, the crystal phase, morphological parameters, and physicochemical properties of organic framework materials are largely affected by various synthesis parameters and precursors. In this work, we specifically review the influences of synthesis parameters towards crystal structures and chemical compositions of organic framework materials, including selected ligand types and lengths, reaction temperature/solvent/reactant compositions, as well as post-synthesis modification approaches. More importantly, the subsequent impacts on the general electronic, mechanical, surface chemical, and thermal properties as well as the consequent variation in performances towards catalytic, desalination, gas sensing, and gas storage applications are critically discussed. Finally, the current challenges and prospects of organic framework materials are provided.

Abstract
This diagnostic study aims to shed light on the catalytic activity of a library of Cu(ii) based coordination compounds with benzotriazole-based ligands. We report herein the synthesis and characterization of five new coordination compounds formulated as [CuII(L4)(MeCN)2(CF3SO3)2] (1), [CuII(L5)2(CF3SO3)2] (2), [CuII(L6)2(MeCN)(CF3SO3)]·(CF3SO3) (3), [CuII(L6)2(H2O)(CF3SO3)]·(CF3SO3)·2(Me2CO) (4), and [Cu(L1)2(L1')2(CF3SO3)2]2·4(CF3SO3)·8(Me2CO) (5), derived from similar nitrogen-based ligands. The homogeneous catalytic activity of these compounds along with our previously reported coordination compounds (6-13), derived from similar ligands, is tested against the well-known Cu(i)-catalysed azide-alkyne cycloaddition reaction. The optimal catalyst [CuII(L1)2(CF3SO3)2] (10) activates the reaction to afford 1,4-disubstituted 1,2,3-triazoles with yields up to 98% and without requiring a reducing agent. Various control experiments are performed to optimize the method and examine parameters such as ligand variation, metal coordination geometry and environment, in order to elucidate the behaviour of the catalytic system.

Abstract
By using pendant tea and bis(pyrazole) ligands H2bdpm and H2bhpe, five new Mo8-based compounds have been synthesized. The tea induces low dimensional subunits of 1–3, while the H2bdpm and H2bhpe ligands induce high dimensional structures of 4 and 5.

Abstract
Abstract
Using the pendent organic ligand 1-butyl-1H-(1,3,4)triazole (btz), two new polyoxometalate (POM)-based compounds, [Cu3(btz)6(H2O)4(H3P2W18O62)2]·6H2O (1) and [Cu2(btz)(tz)(H2O)2(SiMo12O40)]·5H2O (2) (tz=1H-(1,3,4)triazole), have been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions. In compound 1, three CuII ions are fused by six btz ligands to form a linear tri-nuclear CuII cluster, with water as bridging molecules. Two Wells-Dawson anions offer two terminal O atoms to link two apical CuII atoms of this tri-nuclear cluster. In compound 2, the btz and tz molecules connect CuII ions to construct an infinite CuII chain still with water molecules as bridges. The adjacent chains are linked by one type of POM anions to build a 2D grid-like layer. Considering the long-range coordinative Cu–O bonds, the other types of POM anions connect adjacent layers to form a 3D framework. The electrochemical and photocatalytic properties of compounds 1 and 2 were also studied.

Abstract
Two purely inorganic three-dimensional (3D) frameworks [Mn4(H2O)11V(IV)(18)O42(PO4)](7-) (1) and [Mn2(H2O)7V(IV)(18)O42(PO4)](11-) (2) were synthesized under hydrothermal conditions and fully characterized by single-crystal X-ray structural analysis, IR spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis and PXRD. Structural analysis revealed that these two compounds contained a similar all reduced polyoxoanion [V(IV)(18)O42(PO4)](15-) linked by different amounts of manganese centers to form 3D framework materials. The V centers in these two compounds were all reduced to the +IV oxidation state, resulting in an all reduced polyoxoanion, which was firstly used as the building block for constructing 3D framework materials. The all reduced typical polyoxoanion [V(IV)(18)O42(PO4)](15-) with 15 negative charges supplied enough charge amount to accept TM cations. In these two structures, the anions were surrounded by 12 and 5 Mn(2+) ions, respectively, adjusted by varying the feeding amount of MnCl2·4H2O. An electrocatalytic study revealed that compound 1 exhibits electrocatalytic activity for reduction of H2O2.

Abstract
Two organic-inorganic hybrid bimolybdenum-capped tetra-Ni(II) sandwich-type molybdogermanates, namely, (H2L)4[Ni4(H2O)2{B-α-GeMo9O34 (MoO2)}2]·6H2O (1), [Ni2(HL)4(H2O)2][Ni4(H2O)2{B-α-GeMo9O34(MoO2)}2]·12H2O (2), L = 2,4,5-tri(4-pyridyl)imidazole, were prepared with hydrothermal synthesis method and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, powder X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Their magnetic properties and electrochemical properties were investigated. The results show that compounds 1 and 2 contain a new bimolybdenum-capped sandwich-type heteropolymolybdate anion, [Ni4(H2O)2{B-α-GeMo9O34(MoO2)}2](8-). The compound 1 is a zero-dimensional supramolecular compound, and the supramolecular architecture of compound 2 is constructed from covalent layers through hydrogen bonds and π-π interaction. The two compounds both present electrocatalytic activities for the reduction of nitrite.

Abstract
Through using two kinds of bis(pyrazolyl) ligands, four polyoxometalate (POM)-based compounds were hydrothermally synthesized and structurally characterized, [Ag3(Hbhpe)2(H2O)(H2PMo12O40)]·H2O (1), [Ag(H2bdpm)2(H2PW12O40)]·4H2O (2), [Ag6(H2bdpm)6(HPW(VI)8W(V)4O40)]·2H2O (2) and [Ag4(H2bdpm)4(H2P2W18O62)]·3H2O (4) (H2bhpe = 1,2-bis(1-H-pyrazolate)ethane, H2bdpm = 1,1'-bis(3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazolate)methane). In compound 1, the Ag-Hbhpe subunit is a 2D layer containing large penta-membered cycles and small tri-nuclear Ag(I) clusters. The Keggin anions covalently float on the large cycles. In compound 2, the Keggin anions are fused by [Ag(H2bdpm)2](+) subunits to form a 1D chain. Compound contains hexa-membered metal-organic cycles, which are further linked by Keggin anions to build a 1D chain. Adjacent chains share the Ag(I) ions to construct a 3D framework of 3. Compound 4 exhibits a wavy double-track chain structure, with the Wells-Dawson anions covalently suspended up and down this chain. The steric hindrance of -CH3 groups in H2bdpm leads to the formation of mono-nuclear Ag(I) subunits in 2 - 4. The influence of -CH3 steric hindrance in bis(pyrazolyl) ligands on the structures of 1 - 4 is discussed. The electrochemical and photocatalytic properties of the title compounds have been studied.
