Abstract
Herein, an I2 -catalyzed unprecedented cycloisomerization of ynamides is developed, furnishing various functionalized bis(indole) derivatives in generally good to excellent yields with wide substrate scope and excellent atom-economy. This protocol not only represents the first molecular-iodine-catalyzed tandem complex alkyne cycloisomerizations, but also constitutes the first chemoselective cycloisomerization of tryptamine-ynamides involving distinctively different C(sp3 )-C(sp3 ) bond cleavage and rearrangement. Moreover, chiral tetrahydropyridine frameworks containing two stereocenters are obtained with moderate to excellent diastereoselectivities and excellent enantioselectivities. Meanwhile, cycloisomerization and aromatization of ynamides produce pyrrolyl indoles with high efficiency enabled by I2 . Additionally, control experiments and theoretical calculations reveal that this reaction probably undergoes a tandem 5-exo-dig cyclization/rearrangement process.

Abstract
The design and development of an Ag(I)-promoted, highly diastereoselective cycloisomerization strategy for the synthesis of syn-1,2-diarylpyrrolo[1,2-a]indol-3-ones from N-alkynyl-indole-2-carbinols is reported. The H218O control experiment and identification of 18O-labeled product suggested the involvement of an external water. The 7-azaindole substrates showned a distinct reactivity to give the (Z)-8-benzylideneoxazolo[3',4':1,5]pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridines. Key features of this strategy are its 100% atom economy, access to important heterocycles, diverse substrate scope, yields up to 95%, operationally simple procedure, and distinct reactivity of indole vs 7-azaindoles.

Abstract
Over the past two decades, the development and application of ynamide chemistry have received more and more attention. Ynamides have proven to be versatile reagents for organic synthesis, and have been widely applied to the rapid assembly of a diverse range of structurally complex N-containing molecules, especially the valuable N-heterocycles. In comparison with the well-established transition metal-catalyzed reactions of ynamides, metal-free ynamide transformations have relatively seldom been exploited. Recently, Brønsted acid-mediated reactions of ynamides represent significant advances in ynamide chemistry. This review summarizes the latest trends and developments of Brønsted acid-mediated reactions of ynamides, including cycloaddition, cyclization, intramolecular alkoxylation-initiated rearrangement, oxygen atom transfer reactions and hydro-heteroatom addition reactions.

Abstract
A copper-catalyzed 1,2-difunctionalization of ynamides has been developed by using readily available N,O-acetals as the bifunctional reagents. Importantly, contrary to the initially expected 1,2-oxy-aminomethylation reaction, an unprecedented 1,2-amino-oxymethylation has been observed. This reaction is atom-economical and tolerates a broad substrate scope, affording the difunctionalization products in good yield with unique Z configuration.

Abstract
Spontaneous spirocyclization of keto-sulfonamides via ynamides through a one-pot process is presented. Push-pull ynamides were obtained through Michael addition/elimination without Cu. The obtained azaspiro compounds are building blocks for indole alkaloids. Theoretical studies provide insights into the mechanism of the formal Conia-ene reaction.

Abstract
An unusually divergent reactivity of ynamides in the presence of azides is reported. This new keteniminium-based methodology, which only requires triflic acid as promoter, facilitates access to β-enaminoamides and biologically important oxazolidine-2,4-diones in a highly selective, divergent manner that is fully controllable by the present azide. A mechanistic rationale for these divergent reaction pathways is delineated and supported by extensive density functional theory analyses, as well as selected mechanistic experiments.

Abstract
Silver is a less expensive noble metal. Superior alkynophilicity due to π-coordination with the carbon-carbon triple bond makes silver salts ideal catalysts for alkyne-based organic reactions. This review highlights the progress in alkyne chemistry via silver catalysis primarily over the past five years (ca. 2010-2014). The discussion is developed in terms of the bond type formed with the acetylenic carbon (i.e., C-C, C-N, C-O, C-Halo, C-P and C-B). Compared with other coinage metals such as Au and Cu, silver catalysis is frequently observed to be unique. This critical review clearly indicates that silver catalysis provides a significant impetus to the rapid evolution of alkyne-based organic reactions, such as alkynylation, hydrofunctionalization, cycloaddition, cycloisomerization, and cascade reactions.

Abstract
The generation of gold carbenes via the gold-catalyzed intermolecular reaction of nucleophiles containing relatively labile N-O or N-N bonds with alkynes has received considerable attention during recent years. However, this protocol is not atom-economic as the reaction produces a stoichiometric amount of pyridine or quinoline waste, the cleaved part of the N-O or N-N bonds. In this article, we disclose an unprecedented gold-catalyzed formal [3+2] cycloaddition between ynamides and isoxazoles, allowing rapid and practical access to a wide range of synthetically-useful 2-aminopyrroles. Most importantly, mechanistic studies and theoretical calculations revealed that this reaction presumably proceeds via an α-imino gold carbene pathway, thus providing a strategically novel, atom-economic route to the generation of gold carbenes. Other significant features of this approach include the use of readily-available starting materials, high flexibility, simple procedure, mild reaction conditions, and in particular, no need to exclude moisture or air ("open flask").
