Abstract
Recovering anthocyanins from black rice bran is a way of valuing this byproduct, by obtaining an extract with biological potential. The objective of this study was to recover anthocyanins using ultrasound-assisted extraction. Some of the extract was partially purified, and both (crude and partially purified) extracts were evaluated for their anthocyanin content, antioxidant activity, antidiabetic and antitumoral activities, cytotoxicity, and oxidative stress. An increase in the laboratory scale was also achieved, making possible to increase the extraction volume up to 20 times without significantly changing the content of anthocyanins (1.85 mg C3G/g DW). It was found that the purified sample presented a 4.2 times higher value of total anthocyanins compared to the crude sample. The best IC50 values for the purified sample were verified by DPPH and ABTS (0.76 and 0.33 mg/mL). The best results for antidiabetic activity were obtained for the partially purified sample: 0.82 µM C3G for α-glucosidase and 12.5 µM C3G for α-amylase. The extracts demonstrated protection (~70%) when subjected to the oxidative stress of L929 cells. An antitumoral effect of 25-30% for both extracts was found in A459 cells. The crude and partially purified extracts of black rice have antidiabetic and anticancer effects and more studies are needed to explore their potential.

Abstract
This wok investigated the effects of Cordyceps sinensis exopolysaccharide‑selenium nanoparticles (EPS-SeNPs), EPS-Se-1, EPS-Se-2, EPS-Se-3, and EPS-Se-4) with particle sizes (79-124 nm) and Se contents (20.11-40.80 μg/mg) on endocytosis and antitumor activity against human hepatocellular carcinoma (HepG2) cells and revealed the apoptosis-related mechanisms. EPS-SeNPs inhibited HepG2 cells proliferation in a dose and Se content-dependent manner by disrupting cell membrane and mitochondrial integrity, promoting reactive oxygen species production. EPS-SeNPs were endocytosed by HepG2 cells through a clathrin-mediated pathway and followed the quasi-first-order kinetics model, indicating physical adsorption played a dominant role in cellular uptake behavior of EPS-SeNPs. Notably, EPS-Se-3 with the lowest particle size (79 nm) showed the highest antitumor activity and the strongest ability to promote cell apoptosis. Western blotting results revealed that EPS-Se-3 increased expressions of Bax, Cytochrome c, cleaved caspase-9, cleaved caspase-3, Fas, p53, and cleaved caspase-8, while decreased the expressions of Bcl-2 and PARP, as contrast to that of control. Overall, EPS-SeNPs induced cell apoptosis through intrinsic mitochondria-mediated and extrinsic death receptor-mediated pathways.

Abstract
Pectolinarin and linarin are two major flavone O-glycosides of Cirsium japonicum, which has been used for thousands of years in traditional Chinese medicine. Pharmacological research on pectolinarin and linarin is meaningful and necessary. Here, a process for the purification of pectolinarin and linarin from C. japonicum was established using macroporous resin enrichment followed by prep-HPLC separation. The results show the purity of pectolinarin and linarin reached 97.39% and 96.65%, respectively. The in vitro bioactivities result shows the ORAC values of pectolinarin and linarin are 4543 and 1441 µmol TE/g, respectively, meanwhile their inhibition rate of BSA-MGO-derived AGEs is 63.58% and 19.31% at 2 mg/mL, which is 56.03% and 30.73% in the BSA-fructose system, respectively. The COX-2 inhibition rate at 50 µg/mL of linarin and pectolinarin reached 55.35% and 40.40%, respectively. Furthermore, the in vivo bioassay combining of histopathologic evaluation and biochemical analysis of liver glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase, serum creatinine and TNF-α show pectolinarin can alleviate lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced acute liver and kidney injury in mice. Metabolomics analysis shows that pectolinarin attenuates LPS-challenged liver and kidney stress through regulating the arachidonic acid metabolism and glutathione synthesis pathways. Collectively, our work presents a solid process for pectolinarin and linarin purification and has discovered a promising natural therapeutic agent-pectolinarin.

Abstract
Phyllanthus emblica L. pomace is a waste residue obtained following juicing that contains many polyphenols. In this study, NKA-II resin was selected as the optimal macroporous resin for separation and employed to separate the crude polyphenol extract of P. emblica pomace. The separation conditions were optimized, and the polyphenol content, polyphenol components, antioxidant activity, and potential anti-Alzheimer's effects of the extract were measured before and after purification. Results showed that the polyphenol content of the purified extract was 656.85 mg/g, which was 2.1 times higher than that of the nonpurified form. Further, the polyphenol components of the pomace, which was like that of the fruit, did not vary after purification. The antioxidant activity of the purified extract was also significantly improved. Moreover, purified extract significantly reduced the paralysis rate of the transgenic Caenorhabditis elegans model of Alzheimer's disease, and the mechanism was related to maintenance of redox homeostasis. PRACTICAL APPLICATION: The polyphenol content and antioxidant activity of purified polyphenol from Phyllanthus emblica L. pomace extracts were significantly improved using optimal separation methods with NKA-II macroporous resin and 70% aqueous ethanol as the eluent in this study. Moreover, purified polyphenols showed potential effects in alleviating Alzheimer's disease. These results suggest that polyphenols separated from P. emblica pomace are valuable for further research and development, and the utilization rate of P. emblica fruit is improved due to the further development of P. emblica pomace.

Abstract
The work explored the process of ultrasound-assisted adsorption/desorption to efficiently purify jujube peel flavonoids (JPFs) using macroporous resins (MRs). The impact of ultrasound power and temperature on the adsorption/desorption features of JPFs on MRs were studied. The maximum adsorption (80.21 ± 2.11 mg/g) /desorption (76.22 ± 1.68 mg/g) capacity of total flavonoids content were obtained. The pseudo-second-order kinetic and Freundlich isotherm models better described the whole process of ultrasound-assisted adsorption. The adsorption process was spontaneous, physical, and dominated by multilinear intraparticle diffusion. Ultrasound mainly enhanced the adsorption capacity by strengthening the formation of hydrogen bonds and increasing the surface roughness of MRs. Besides, the principal individual flavonoid ((+)-Catechin, (-)-Epicatechin, Rutin, Quercetin-3-O-robinobioside) content of JPFs in ultrasound treatment was 2-3 times that of shaking treatment, and biological activities were significantly increased. Overall, as a low-cost green technology, ultrasound can improve the properties of MRs and better purify JPFs.

Abstract
Adsorbents originated from biological materials play a vital role in the remediation of diverse toxic pollutants due to their high efficacy, low cost and being environmentally friendly. The present study focusses on the palm shell activated carbon obtained from agricultural waste precursor (palm shell) with the aid of oleic acid activation along with ultrasonic assistance and its effective utilization for acenaphthene adsorption from aqueous and real effluent. The synthesized Ultrasonic assisted palm shell activated carbon (UAC) possessed high surface area of 506.84 m2/g and distinct porous structure as depicted by SEM analysis. The outcomes of zero discharge analyses and acenaphthene adsorption results vouchsafed that, using oleic acid as an effective catalyst, is explicitly advantageous to combine with ultrasonic assistance to fabricate a highly efficient adsorbent for acenaphthene removal from aqueous solution. The UAC obtained at the selected parameters levels, such as temperature of 45 °C and ultrasonic time of 40 min, has the adsorption capacity of 52.745 mg/g. Sips isotherm model computed from the experimental data gave the best fit among the examined isotherm models. To complete the study of adsorption properties of UAC towards acenaphthene, kinetic modeling and thermodynamic aspects of the adsorption process were also scrutinized. The kinetic studies proved that pseudo-second order model is compatible with the experimental data and thermodynamic results revealed that the adsorption process is of endothermic nature. Overall, ultrasonic-assisted preparation of activated carbon from palm shell actuated using Oleic acid was found to be a highly efficient adsorbent which was suitable for acenaphthene removal from aqueous solution.

Abstract
In recent years, herbal medicine has experienced rapid development in the search for alternative anticancer compounds. Various phytochemicals present in Quercus infectoria (QI) galls have been reported to trigger cytotoxic effects on many types of cancer cells. However, a specific active constituent of QI galls with the potential to inhibit highly invasive stage IV malignant brain tumor, glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), is yet to be discovered. In this study, a two-phase system composed of aqueous soxhlet extraction and methanolic enrichment fractionation was employed to extract an anticancer compound, gallotannin, from the QI galls. This optimized two-phase system successfully generated a fraction (F4) with ~71% gallotannin, verified by the TLC and HPLC assays. Astoundingly, this fraction showed significantly higher (~1.15-fold) antioxidant activities compared to its crude extract, as well as to a commercial synthetic pure gallotannin. The F4 was also found to significantly suppress GBM cell growth, better than the synthetic pure gallotannin and the QI gall crude extract, probably related to its significantly higher antioxidant property. Moreover, the inhibitory effects exerted by the F4 treatment on GBM cells were comparable to the effects of two clinically used chemo-drugs (Temozolomide and Tamoxifen), indicating its high efficiency in combating human cancer. In conclusion, this study pioneered the development of an optimized extraction procedure for enriched yield of the natural gallotannin metabolite from the galls of the QI medicinal plant with high antioxidant potential and inhibitory effects on human GBM cells.

This study explored whether the antiobesity effect of theabrownin (TB) extracted from Fu brick tea (FBT) was associated with the activation of brown adipose tissue (BAT) or browning of the white adipose tissue (WAT) in mice fed a high-fat diet (HFD). Mice were divided into five groups, which received a normal diet, HFD, or HFD plus TB (200, 400, and 800 mg/kg), respectively. A 12-week administration of TB in a dose-dependent manner reduced the body weight and WAT weight and improved lipid and glucose disorders in the HFD-fed mice (p < 0.05). TB also promoted the expression of thermogenic and mitochondrial genes, whereas inflammation genes were reduced in interscapular BAT (iBAT), inguinal WAT (iWAT), and epididymis white adipose tissue (eWAT), accompanied by improvement in the intestinal homeostasis by improving SCFAs, especially butyric acid levels (p < 0.05), which was related to thermogenic and inflammatory factors of iBAT and iWAT. Mechanistically, TB was shown to efficiently promote thermogenesis by stimulating the AMPK-PGC1α pathway with an increase in uncoupling protein 1 (UCP1). Conclusively, these findings suggest that long-term consumption of TB can enhance BAT activity and WAT browning by activating the AMPK-PGC1α pathway and modulating SCFAs; meanwhile, SCFAs regulating TB improved inflammatory disorder in HFD-fed mice.

Abstract
Heat-stable antifungal factor (HSAF) is produced by the fermentation of Lysobacter enzymogenes, which is known for its broad-spectrum antifungal activity and novel mode of action. However, studies on the separation of HSAF have rarely been reported. Herein, alteramide B (the main byproduct) was removed firstly from the fermentation broth by photodegradation to improve the purity of HSAF. Then, the separation of HSAF via adsorption by macroporous adsorption resins (MARs) was evaluated and NKA resin showed highest static adsorption and desorption performances. After optimizing the static and dynamic adsorption characteristics, the content of HSAF in the purified product increased from 8.67 ± 0.32% (ethyl acetate extraction) to 31.07 ± 1.12% by 3.58-fold. These results suggest that the developed strategy via photodegradation and macroporous resin adsorption is an effective process for the separation of HSAF, and it is also a promising method for the large-scale preparation of HSAF for agricultural applications.

Abstract
In this study, for the first time, the adsorption/desorption characteristics of carnosic acid and carnosol from deep eutectic solvent extract of Salvia officinalis on five macroporous resins (HP20, XAD7HP, XAD16N, HP21, HP2MG) were evaluated. The high adsorption and medium desorption capacities of carnosic acid and carnosol as well as antibacterial and antiradical activity from the extract obtained with choline chloride:lactic acid (1:2) on XAD7HP resin indicated that resin was appropriate. To get the optimal separation process, the influence of factors such as adsorption/desorption time and volume of desorbent was further investigated. The results showed that the extract with high antiradical and antibacterial activity was obtained via adsorption and desorption on XAD7HP resin. The extraction efficiencies of the deep eutectic solvents (DESs) recycled once, twice, and thrice were 97.64% (±0.03%), 93.10% (±0.66%), and 88.94% (±1.15%), respectively, for carnosic acid, and 96.63% (±0.04%), 94.38% (±0.27%), and 91.19% (±0.36%), respectively, for carnosol, relative to the initial solvent efficiency. Based on that, this method is a promising basis for the large-scale preparation of extracts from Salvia officinalis with further application in the pharmaceutical or food industry, especially for maintaining the “green” character of the whole process to obtain the appropriate extract.

Abstract
This study aimed to develop efficient adsorption and desorption processes to purify phenolic compounds from Ecklonia cava. We compared the adsorption and desorption properties of five resins. HP2MG showed the highest adsorption and desorption capacities and adsorption rate; hence, it was selected for phenolic compound purification. Adsorption isotherm parameters indicated favorable adsorption between HP2MG and phenolic compounds. Thermodynamic parameters showed that the absorption process physically proceeded. In the dynamic adsorption process, adsorption property was assessed based on bed length (4-10 cm) and flow rate (1.64-3.27 mL/min). The breakthrough point increased with increased bed length and decreased adsorption flow rate. However, the high desorption flow rate shortened the processing time. The phenolic contents, anti-glycation activity and antioxidant activity of the extract were measured before and after purification. The dieckol and phlorofucofuroeckol-A increased three times after purification. The purified extract showed higher anti-glycation and antioxidant activities than the extract.

Abstract
Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) and epicatechin gallate (ECG) are the most abundant ester catechins of green tea polyphenols (GTPs) with numerous potential bioactivities, which have wide application prospects in the fields of medicine and functional foods. In this study, a new method using macroporous resin and crystallization was established to separate and purify EGCG and ECG. Two resins with high adsorption and desorption capacities for EGCG and ECG were screened through static adsorption/desorption tests, and the LX-20B resin was selected through column chromatography due to its best separation effect. Moreover, the column separation parameters of LX-20B resin (sample amount, ethanol elution concentration, elution volume, and elution flow rate) were optimized. After resin purification, the EGCG and ECG purity were 70.08 ± 2.55% and 74.97 ± 2.66%, respectively, and the recovery rates were 68.07 ± 2.43% and 74.28 ± 2.24%, respectively. After crystallization, the EGCG purity reached 95.87 ± 0.89%, with a total recovery rate of 58.66%, and the ECG purity reached 95.55 ± 1.30%, with a total recovery rate of 62.45%. The separation efficiency of the resin showed no significant change after 6 cycles. These results show the proposed method to be a simple, eco-friendly, and cost-effective separation method for the industrial separation and purification of EGCG and ECG from GTPs.

Abstract
Alteramide B (ATB) is an antifungal metabolite produced by Lysobacter enzymogenes. However, its separation method has not been explored. This study attempted to directly adsorb ATB from fermentation broth using macroporous adsorption resins (MARs) NKA resin exhibited better adsorption as well as desorption capacities. The static and dynamic adsorption characteristics were assessed to determine the following optimal separation conditions: initial fermentation broth with a pH of 12.0, 2 BV/h flow rate, 8 BV loading volume, and 6 BV 80% aqueous ethanol for elution. After a single treatment, ATB content in the final product was higher by 4.51-fold (i.e, from 12.72 ± 1.21% to 57.35 ± 3.46%), resulting in a recovery yield of 86.20 ± 4.47%. In addition, NKA resin showed superior reusability within eight cycles of adsorption/desorption. The developed method is thus a simple, efficient, and economical process for ATB separation.

Abstract
Flavonoids are the main constituents of Goji berries and have good biological and pharmacological activities. The mixed-mode macroporous adsorption resins (MARs) for purification of flavonoids from Goji berries through computer-assisted calculation of the molecular size of flavonoids and the precise matching of MAR physical and chemical properties was firstly developed in the present study. Ten varieties of MARs with suitable molecular dimensions and polarities were used for investigating the adsorption/desorption behaviors of the flavonoids. Both AUKJ-1 and BWKX-1 showed higher separation efficiency than other MARs and then were mixed in different ratios to constitute a mixed-mode macroporous adsorption resin to obtain the optimal adsorption phase. Under optimal conditions, total flavonoid content of purified flavonoid (p-FLA) extract increased from 0.97% to 36.88% after one purification. The p-FLA extract from Goji berries significantly improved the expression of six genes with anti-aging effects and played an important role in aging-related Alzheimer's disease by down-regulating Aβ expression.

Abstract
The present study presents an attempt to modify the surface properties of macroporous resins (MRs) in order to improve anthocyanin adsorption and desorption from Pyrus communis var Starkrimson fruit peel extract. A number of MRs were tested to optimise the ultrasonic-assisted adsorption (UAA) conditions; including ultrasonic power (100-400 W), resin-to-extract ratio (1-3 g/50 mL) and temperature (20-40 °C). Similarly, varying ultrasonic-assisted desorption (UAD) conditions were optimised; including ultrasonic power (200-600 W), resin-to-solvent ratio (1-4 g/50 mL), ethanol concentration (60-90% v/v) and temperature (20-40 °C). The Amberlyst 15 (H) cationic resin was found to be superior to the other tested resins. The maximum adsorption capacity (659 µg/g) of cyanidin 3-galactoside (Cy 3-gal) was achieved under the optimised UAA conditions (400 W, 20 °C and 1 g/50 mL), while 616 µg/g of Cy 3-gal was recovered under the optimised UAD conditions (582 W, 1 g/50 mL, 60% and 20 °C). Moreover, titratable-acid and total-sugar contents were found to be significantly lower under UAA than under conventional-assisted adsorption (CAA). ANOVA revealed that process factors had significant effects on the Cy 3-gal purification, as depicted by their linear, quadratic and interactive effects. While anthocyanin adsorption was found to be significantly improved at lower ultrasonic power, higher power promoted the desorption process. Adsorption under optimized UAA conditions followed pseudo second-order kinetics and multilayer adsorption (Freundlich isotherm) onto the Amberlyst 15 (H) resin surface was observed. The particle-size distribution curve and scanning electron microscopic images also revealed higher resin-surface roughness, peeling and the appearance of pores on the surface under ultrasonication.This is the first study to use ultrasonication to modify a cationic exchange resin for the improvement of Cy 3-gal purification from a fruit extract. This study can recommend the use of ultrasonication as a low-cost green technique that can improve macroporous resin characteristics for better purification of compounds from an extract.

The resulted fractions described by HPLC/ESI-MS to be delphinidin 3,5-diglucoside (DDG), petunidin 3,5-diglucoside (PDG), and malvidin 3,5-diglucoside (MDG). A weight of 150 mg of sample yielded 7.53, 22.68, and 39.09 mg for DDG, PDG, and MDG, respectively. It was stated that the target three anthocyanins possessed strong antioxidant activities. Furthermore, MDG exhibited definite advantages for inhibition of nitric oxide release and pro-inflammatory mediators like mouse interleukin 6 (IL-6), mouse interleukin (IL-1β) and mouse tumor necrosis factor (TNF-α) in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced RAW264.7 macrophages. The results propose that HSCCC can be utilized to separate highly antioxidative and anti-inflammatory natural components from SC pulp. PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS: Anthocyanins are water-soluble pigments and considered one of the groups of bioactive compounds, which generally concentrate in the skin, and often also the flesh of some fruits and vegetables as glycosides like acylglycosides and aglycones of anthocyanidins. The fully ripe fruits of SC contain anthocyanins, like as delphinidin, cyanidin, and petunidin, which supply them a distinctive color and good antioxidant characteristics. HSCCC considers a system of liquid-liquid extraction with separating large quantities of materials, using a minimum of solvent. The findings of the study would pave a separation strategy for potential large-scale preparation of anthocyanins di-glucosides standards for compounds detection and reduce the inflammation symptoms through declining the induction of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β, TNF-α and IL-6, which will also enhance the future notification on the structure-activity correlations of anthocyanins di-glucosides.

Abstract
Abstract
Morus alba L. is a medicinal plant that contains a high amount of caffeoylquinic acids such as 3-caffeoylquinic acid (3-CQA), 5-caffeoylquinic acid (5-CQA) and 4-caffeoylquinic acid (4-CQA). This study aimed to establish a fast and efficient method for separating caffeoylquinic acids from mulberry leaves by using high-speed countercurrent chromatography coupled with macroporous resin. D101 resin showed better adsorption and desorption capacity for three caffeoylquinic acids among six macroporous resin adsorbents. The contents of 3-CQA, 5-CQA and 4-CQA reached for 4.77%, 18.95% and 9.84% through one cycle of D101 resin, which were 3.13-fold, 4.57-fold and 4.78-fold more than those in crude extracts, respectively. With a two-phase solvent system of ethyl acetate-water (1:1, V/V), >93% purity of target compounds were obtained in one cycle during 150 min with the recovery yields of 80.59%, 99.56% and 94.21% for 3-CQA, 5-CQA and 4-CQA, respectively. The structural identification of target compounds was carried out by ESI-MS, 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectra. The present result represented an easy and efficient separation strategy for the utilization of mulberry resource.

Abstract
We aimed to purify polyphenols from distiller’s grain extract using macroporous resins and to identify its polyphenolic components. The influence of operational parameters on purification efficiency was investigated. The polyphenolic composition was analyzed by ultra-performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS) and then quantified by UPLC-MS using authenticated standards. The results showed that the optimal purifying conditions were D101 resin with a dosage of 3 g, four hours adsorption, three hours desorption time, and 60% ethanol as the eluent, producing the highest purification rate of 51%. The purified distiller’s grain extract exhibited stronger antioxidant activity than the unpurified extracts, which was assessed using DPPH and ABTS methods (IC50 DPPH = 34.03 and 16.21 μg/mL, respectively; IC50 ABTS = 20.31 and 5.73 μg/mL, respectively). UPLC-MS results indicated that (−)-epicatechin is the major compound found in distiller’s grain extract which was quantified as 562.7 μg/g extract, followed by ferulic acid (518.2 μg/g), p-hydroxybenzoic acid (417.7 μg/g), caffeic acid (217.1 μg/g), syringic acid (158.0 μg/g) and quercetin (147.8 μg/g). Two compounds, vanillic acid (66.5 μg/g) and gallic acid (41.4 μg/g), were found in lower concentrations. The findings of this study suggest that purification of polyphenolic compounds from distiller’s grain by macroporous resins is feasible, providing a new and effective method for the secondary use of distiller’s grain resources.

Abstract
AbstractThe adsorption/desorption characteristics, modeling and properties of anthocyanins from extruded red cabbage juice by macroporous resins were investigated. The static adsorption and desorption capacities of red cabbage anthocyanins on five macroporous resins were measured and compared. The X-5 resin showed the best capacities and was selected for the adsorption kinetics, isotherms and elution studies. The pseudo-second-order kinetic model and Langmuir isotherm model were used to describe the adsorption process and mechanism. Dynamic adsorption and desorption tests were performed on a fixed-bed column, and the loading and eluent conditions were optimized. The purity of anthocyanins in freeze-dried purified powder by the resin adsorption process is 21.3 ± 0.9 wt % and shows better stability in the air than the unpurified one. Finally, the antioxidant activity and color properties including color density, color intensity, color tonality and degradation index of the purified powders were measured.

Abstract
In this study, the impact of ultrasound on the adsorption and desorption features of blueberry anthocyanins on macroporous resins were studied. Sonication was performed at 106-279 W/L and 20-30 °C in a pulsed mode, respectively. Generally, ultrasound treatments within the selected experimental range enhanced the adsorption/desorption process of anthocyanins on macroporous resins. The recovery of blueberry anthocyanins after ultrasound-assisted adsorption/desorption process at 279 W/L and 20 °C was 82.12%, which was 52.84% higher than that obtained after adsorption/desorption with shaking at 100 rpm. Meanwhile, higher acoustic energy density (AED) levels and lower temperatures benefited the adsorption process through enhancing the adsorption capacity and shortening the equilibrium time, whereas higher temperatures promoted the desorption process. Furthermore, malvidin-3-galactoside had the highest adsorption and desorption capacities among all the studied monomeric anthocyanins. No organic acids and sugars were detected after adsorption/desorption processes, indicating the successful improvement of anthocyanin purification. Sonication mainly enhanced the adsorption process by means of strengthening the formation of hydrogen bond on resins surface and increasing their surface roughness. Overall, ultrasound can be an effective tool to improve the purification of anthocyanins using macroporous resins.

Abstract
Cheese consumption has been gradually increased in China. However, both the manufacturing process of cheese and the utilization of its main by-product were not well developed. Based on the sensory evaluation, Box-Behnken Design (BBD) was performed in the present study to optimize the cheese processing, which was proved more suitable for Chinese. The optimal parameters were: rennet 0.052 g/L, start culture 0.025 g/L and CaCl2 0.1 g/L. The composition analysis of fresh bovine milk and whey showed that whey contained most of the soluble nutrients of milk, which indicated that whey was a potential resource of cyclic adenosine-3', 5'-monophosphate (cAMP). Thus, the cAMP was isolated from whey, the results of high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis showed that the macroporous adsorption resins (MAR) D290 could increase the concentration of cAMP from 0.058 µmol/mL to 0.095 µmol/mL. We firstly purified the cAMP from the whey, which could become a new source of cAMP.
