Abstract
We have developed a gold-catalyzed cascade reaction of aryldiynes bearing a hydrosilyl group to afford a variety of unexplored 5H-benzo[b]indeno[2,1-d]silines. The reaction system is applicable to the synthesis of bidirectionally π-extended silacycles from tetra(alkynyl)aryl compounds. Computational studies suggest that 5H-benzo[b]indeno[2,1-d]silines are formed via the insertion of a vinyl carbocation intermediate into the Si-H bond.

Abstract
The preparation of multisubstituted enolates with precise regio- and stereocontrol is a nontrivial task when conventional deprotonation methods are used on the corresponding carbonyl compounds. We describe herein an approach to preparing stereodefined enolates by leveraging the stereoselective oxyfunctionalization of unactivated alkynes, particularly in the context of the alkynylogous aldol reaction. trans-Iodo(III)acetoxylation of alkynes and subsequent Sonogashira coupling allow for the facile preparation of multisubstituted enynyl acetates, which can be deacetylated by MeLi into the corresponding enolates. The alkynyl enolates react with aldehydes to afford γ,δ-unsaturated β-diketones through a cascade of alkynylogous aldol addition, intramolecular Michael addition, and ring opening of the oxetene intermediate.

Abstract
Since the dawn of millennium, catalytic gold chemistry is at the forefront to set off diverse organic reactions via unique activation of π-bonded molecules. Within this purview, cycloisomerization of heteroatom nucleophiles linked to a π-system is one of the well recognized chemistry for the construction of numerous heterocyclic cores. Though the rudimentary aspects of this transformation are reviewed by several groups in different timeline, a holistic view on regiochemistry of such reactions went largely overlooked. Hence, this account emphasizes the gold catalyzed regioselective cycloisomerization of structurally distinctive π-connected hetero-nucleophiles leading to different heterocycles documented in the last two decades. From an application perspective, this account also highlights those methodologies which find a role in the total synthesis of natural products. Wherever appropriate, mechanistic details and contributing factors for selectivity are also discussed.

Abstract
Stereoselective synthesis of bicyclo[3.3.0]octenones from chiral 1,3-enyne aldehydes bearing propargylic acetates is described. The method is based on a Au(i)-catalyzed domino sequence with concomitant transfer of chirality involving 1,3-acyloxy migration followed by Nazarov cyclization and an unprecedented aldol addition. The method furnishes densely functionalized bicyclic structures in high yields, with up to 97% ee and good diastereoselectivity.

Abstract
A new class of aromatic metamorphosis in which benzofurans are converted into diverse six-membered oxaheterocycles has been developed. This transformation is composed of two reactions in one pot: manganese-catalyzed arylative or alkylative ring-opening of benzofurans affording dianionic intermediates and subsequent trapping with multivalent heteroatom electrophiles. Various electrophiles containing silicon, boron, phosphorus, germanium, and titanium could be applied to this heteroatom insertion.

Abstract
Several benzoxazocenones have been found to exhibit novel cellular activities. In the present study, we report a gold(I)-catalyzed 8-endo-dig hydroalkoxylation reaction of alkynamides to access analogous oxazocenone scaffolds. This methodology provided an advanced intermediate, which was elaborated to a des-benzo analog of a bioactive benzoxazocenone.

Abstract
A facile procedure is developed for the three-component Mannich reactions of several heterocyclic, homocyclic, and acyclic ketones by using catalytic quantities of nano ZrO2. As a result, the starting ketones undergo rapid reactions with a variety of aromatic aldehydes and aniline derivatives at room temperature to produce stereoselectively high yields of the corresponding anti β-amino ketones. Interestingly, the catalyst could be recycled for several runs in a row without significant loss of its activity. The structure of the products was assigned based on their spectroscopic data and the anti stereoselectivity was confirmed by X-ray crystallography.

Abstract
A series of dinuclear gold σ,π-propyne acetylide complexes were prepared and tested for their catalytic ability in dual gold catalysis that was based on the reaction of an electrophilic π-complex of gold with a gold acetylide. The air-stable and storable catalysts can be isolated as silver-free catalysts in their activated form. These dual catalysts allow a fast initiation phase for the dual catalytic cycles without the need for additional additives for acetylide formation. Because propyne serves as a throw-away ligand, no traces of the precatalyst are generated. Based on the fast initiation process, side products are minimized and reaction rates are higher for these catalysts. A series of test reactions were used to demonstrate the general applicability of these catalysts. Lower catalyst loadings, faster reaction rates, and better selectivity, combined with the practicability of these catalysts, make them ideal catalysts for dual gold catalysis.
