Abstract
Monoligated palladium(0) species, L1Pd(0), have emerged as the most active catalytic species in the cross-coupling cycle. Today, there are methods available to generate the highly active but unstable L1Pd(0) catalysts from stable precatalysts. While the size of the ligand plays an important role in the formation of L1Pd(0) during in situ catalysis, the latter can be precisely generated from the precatalyst by various technologies. Computational, kinetic, and experimental studies indicate that all three steps in the catalytic cycle─oxidative addition, transmetalation, and reductive elimination─contain monoligated Pd. The synthesis of precatalysts, their mode of activation, application studies in model systems, as well as in industry are discussed. Ligand parametrization and AI based data science can potentially help predict the facile formation of L1Pd(0) species.

Abstract
The synthesis and catalytic activity of pyridine-fused triazolylidene as a novel abnormal N-heterocyclic carbene (aNHC) ligand is described. The evaluation of physical properties using X-ray crystallographic analysis and infrared spectroscopy revealed that these triazolylidenes have a high electron-donating ability toward the metal center. The application of this triazolylidene to the palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling of chloroarenes and nitroarenes with arylboronic acids showcased its ability to activate C-Cl and C-NO2 bonds.

Abstract
AbstractTransition-metal-catalyzed cross-coupling of organohalides, ethers, sulfides, amines, and alcohols (and derivatives thereof) with Grignard reagents, known as the Kumada–Tamao–Corriu reaction, can be used to prepare important intermediates in the synthesis of numerous biologically active compounds. The most frequently used transition metals are nickel, palladium, and iron, but there are several examples for cross-coupling reactions catalyzed by copper, cobalt, manganese, chromium, etc. salts and complexes. Abstract
Organolithium compounds are amongst the most important organometallic reagents and frequently used in difficult metallation reactions. However, their direct use in the formation of C-C bonds is less established. Although remarkable advances in the coupling of aryllithium compounds have been achieved, Csp2 -Csp3 coupling reactions are very limited. Herein, we report the first general protocol for the coupling or aryl chlorides with alkyllithium reagents. Palladium catalysts based on ylide-substituted phosphines (YPhos) were found to be excellently suited for this transformation giving high selectivities at room temperature with a variety of aryl chlorides without the need for an additional transmetallation reagent. This is demonstrated in gram-scale synthesis including building blocks for materials chemistry and pharmaceutical industry. Furthermore, the direct coupling of aryllithiums as well as Grignard reagents with aryl chlorides was also easily accomplished at room temperature.

Abstract
A bimetallic system of Pd/CuF2, catalytic in Pd and stoichiometric in Cu, is very efficient and selective for the coupling of fairly hindered aryl silanes with aryl, anisyl, phenylaldehyde, p-cyanophenyl, p-nitrophenyl, or pyridyl iodides of conventional size. The reaction involves the activation of the silane by Cu(II), followed by disproportionation and transmetalation from the Cu(I)(aryl) to Pd(II), upon which coupling takes place. Cu(III) formed during disproportionation is reduced to Cu(I)(aryl) by excess aryl silane, so that the CuF2 system is fully converted into Cu(I)(aryl) and used in the coupling. Moreover, no extra source of fluoride is needed. Interesting size selectivity towards coupling is found in competitive reactions of hindered aryl silanes. Easily accessible [PdCl2 (IDM)(AsPh3)] (IDM = 1,3-dimethylimidazol-2-ylidene) is by far the best catalyst, and the isolated products are essentially free from As or Pd (<1 ppm). The mechanistic aspects of the process have been experimentally examined and discussed.

Abstract
Palladium anionic complexes with imidazolinium cations containing hydroxyl substituents were used as catalyst precursors in the Suzuki–Miyaura and the Heck cross-coupling. High activity of anionic complexes was noted in the Suzuki–Miyaura reaction of 2-bromotoluene with phenylboronic acid at 40 oC in 2-propanol and a 2-propanol/water mixture using conventional heating or microwaves. Similarly, bromonaphtalene and iodonaphtalene reacted efficiently with naphtylboronic acid and 4-methylnaphtylboronic acid. A remarkably lower activity was noted when anionic palladium complexes were employed in the Heck coupling of 2,3-dihydrofuran with iodobenzene. An increase in conversion in the Heck reaction was achieved when Pd(OAc)2 was used as a catalyst precursor together with imidazolinium salts as co-catalysts.

Abstract
The bigger the better: The new well-defined [Pd(IPr*)(cin)Cl] pre-catalyst is described. This complex proves to be highly active in the Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling for the synthesis of tetra-ortho-substituted biaryls under mild conditions. IPr* is reported as the largest N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) to date for [Pd(NHC)(cin)Cl] complexes, explaining the high reactivity observed for this complex in this challenging transformation.
