Abstract
We report the synthesis, characterization, and antiproliferative activity of organo-osmium(II) and organo-ruthenium(II) half-sandwich complexes [(η6-p-cym)Os(L)Cl]Cl (1 and 2) and [(η6-p-cym)Ru(L)Cl]Cl (3 and 4), where L = N-(2-hydroxy)-3-methoxybenzylidenethiosemicarbazide (L1) or N-(2,3-dihydroxybenzylidene)-3-phenylthiosemicarbazide (L2), respectively. X-ray crystallography showed that all four complexes possess half-sandwich pseudo-octahedral "three-legged piano-stool" structures, with a neutral N,S-chelating thiosemicarbazone ligand and a terminal chloride occupying three coordination positions. In methanol, E/Z isomerization of the coordinated thiosemicarbazone ligand was observed, while in an aprotic solvent like acetone, partial dissociation of the ligand occurs, reaching complete displacement in a more coordinating solvent like DMSO. In general, the complexes exhibited good activity toward A2780 ovarian, A2780Cis cisplatin-resistant ovarian, A549 lung, HCT116 colon, and PC3 prostate cancer cells. In particular, ruthenium complex 3 does not present cross-resistance with the clinical drug cisplatin in the A2780 human ovarian cancer cell line. The complexes were more active than the free thiosemicarbazone ligands, especially in A549 and HCT116 cells with potency improvements of up to 20-fold between organic ligand L1 and ruthenium complex 1.

Abstract
Complex [W2Cp2(μ-I)(μ-PPh2)(NO)2] was prepared by reacting [W2Cp2(μ-I)(μ-PPh2)(CO)2] with NO at 233 K followed by decarbonylation in refluxing toluene. It was reduced by Na(Hg) in acetonitrile to give Na[W2Cp2(μ-PPh2)(NO)2], the first anionic nitrosyl complex featuring a metal-metal double bond (computed W-W = 2.580 Å). Reactions of the latter anion with (NH4)PF6 and [AuCl{P(p-tol)3}] gave the hydride [W2Cp2(μ-H)(μ-PPh2)(NO)2] and the cluster [AuW2Cp2(μ-PPh2)(NO)2{P(p-tol)3}] respectively, also featuring multiple W-W bonding (experimental W-W ca. 2.75 Å), and its reaction with S8 yielded the electron-precise derivative Na[W2Cp2(μ-PPh2)(μ-S)(NO)2], which was methylated by Me2SO4 to give the thiolate complex [W2Cp2(μ-PPh2)(μ-SMe)(NO)2].

Abstract
Convenient methods to prepare solvated rhenium oxochlorides are described; these compounds should serve as useful starting materials for rhenium chemistry. Treatment of perrhenic acid, HReO(4), with chlorotrimethylsilane or with thionyl chloride, followed by addition of tetrahydrofuran, forms the new oxochloride complexes ReO(3)Cl(THF)(2) and ReOCl(4)(THF), respectively. Small amounts of two dinuclear oxochlorides, which evidently resulted from adventitious hydrolysis, were also isolated: Re(2)O(3)Cl(6)L(2), where L = THF or H(2)O. All four compounds were characterized by X-ray crystallography. The rhenium(vii) complex ReO(3)Cl(THF)(2) adopts a distorted octahedral geometry in which the three oxo ligands are in a facial arrangement; the rhenium(vi) complex ReOCl(4)(THF) adopts a trans octahedral structure. The two dinuclear rhenium(vi) compounds both have a single, nearly linear, bridging oxo group; on each Re center, the three terminal chlorides adopt a mer arrangement, and the terminal oxo and the coordinated Lewis base are mutually trans. The water ligand in the aqua complex is hydrogen bonded to nearby THF molecules. IR data are given.

Abstract
Treatment of [Cp*Mo(NO)Cl(mu-Cl)](2) with magnesium (Me(2)Mg.dioxane, MeMgCl) or aluminum (Me(3)Al) methylating reagents affords the known compound [Cp*Mo(NO)Me(mu-Cl)](2) (1). Similar treatment of the dichloro precursor with MeLi in ethereal solvents generates an equimolar mixture of 1 and the trimethyl "ate" complex, Cp*MoMe(3)(NO-Li(OEt(2)(n)), (2-Et(2)O). Reaction of 2-Et(2)O with a source of [Me](+) forms Cp*MoMe(3)(=N-OMe)(3), a rare terminal alkoxylimido complex. Metathesis of the chloro ligands of [Cp*Mo(NO)Cl(mu-Cl)](2) by MeLi in toluene at low temperatures produces the target dimethyl complex, Cp*Mo(NO)Me(2) (4), in 75% isolated yield. In solution, 4 is predominantly a monomeric species, whereas in the solid state it adopts a dimeric or oligomeric structure containing isonitrosyl bridges as indicated by IR and (15)N/(13)C NMR spectroscopies. Hydrolysis of 4 affords meso- and rac-[Cp*Mo(NO)Me](2)(mu-O) (5), and the reactions of 4 with a range of Lewis bases, L, to form the 18e adducts Cp*Mo(NO)(L)Me(2) (e.g., Cp*Mo(NO)(PMe(3))Me(2) (7)), have established it to be the most electrophilic complex of its family. Acidolysis of the methyl groups of 4 is also facile. Most notably, 4 is thermally unstable in solution and undergoes isomerization via nitrosyl N-O bond cleavage to its oxo(imido) form, Cp*Mo(NMe)(O)Me (11), which is isolable from the final reaction mixture as the mu-oxo-bridged adduct formed by 4 and 11, i.e., Cp*Mo(NO)Me(2)(mu-O)Cp*Mo(NMe)Me (4 <-- 11). The rate of this isomerization is significantly faster for the tungsten dimethyl complex; hence, Cp*W(NO)Me(2) (12) is not isolable free of a supporting donor interaction and can only be isolated as Cp*W(NO)Me(2)(mu-O)Cp*W(NMe)Me (12 <-- 13) or Cp*W(NO)Me(2)(PMe(3)) (14) adducts.
