Abstract
Treatment of the gold vinyl carbene/allylic cation complex (E)-[(IPr)AuC(H)C(H)C(4-C6H4OMe)2]+ OTf- with sulfoxides at -95 °C formed the corresponding gold allyloxysulfonium complexes [(IPr)AuC(H)(OSR2)C(H)[double bond, length as m-dash]C(4-C6H4OMe)2]+ OTf- [R = Me, -(CH2)4-, Ar] in ≥95 ± 5% NMR yield. Allyloxysulfonium gold complexes underwent elimination at or below room temperature to form 3,3-bis(4-methoxyphenyl)acrylaldehyde in ≥67% yield.

Abstract
By reviewing the recent progress on the elucidation of the structure of gold carbenes and the definitions of metal carbenes and carbenoids, we recommend to use the term gold carbene to describe gold carbene-like intermediates, regardless of whether the carbene or carbocation extreme resonance dominates. Gold carbenes, because of the weak metal-to-carbene π-back-donation and their strongly electrophilic reactivity, could be classified into the broader family of Fischer carbenes, although their behavior and properties are very specific.

Abstract
7-Aryl-1,3,5-cycloheptatrienes react intermolecularly with methylenecyclopropanes in a triple gold(I)-catalyzed reaction to form cyclopentenes. The same formal (4+1) cycloaddition occurs with cyclobutenes. Other precursors of gold(I) carbenes can also be used as the C1 component of the cycloaddition.

Abstract
Gold-catalyzed aerobic oxygenative cleavage of triple bonds that occurs under the ambient pressure of air and at room temperature is reported; radical inhibition tests suggest that oxygenation occurs via a gold-bound metalloradical intermediate.

Abstract
A gold-catalyzed oxidation of arylallenes to form α-diketones and aldehydes in good yields is presented. Further directed synthesis of quinoxalines and benzimidazoles, via the condensation of the resulting α-diketones and aldehydes with benzene-1,2-diamine, was achieved in high yields.

Abstract
We report Au(I)- and Ag(I)-catalyzed cycloisomerizations of epoxide-alkyne functionalities in both aromatic and nonaromatic systems, leading to diversified carbocyclic and heterocyclic frameworks with high chemoselectivities. The use of such cycloisomerizations is reflected by a facile access to the cores of natural pallidol and gibberic acid.
