Abstract
The reactions of cycloplatinated guanidinate(1-) complexes 1-6 with AgTFA (TFA = OC(O)CF3) in 1:1 and 1:2 PtII/AgI molar ratios afforded complexes containing three types of Pt2Ag2 skeletons (7-10, 11, and 13), one 1D CP containing Pt2Ag3 skeleton (16), and a Pt2Ag4 complex (17) in 91-95% (method 1), 73-82% (method 2) (7-10), and 54-79% (11, 13, 16, and 17) yields. The reactions of 11 with 2,6-XylNC (2,6-Xyl = 2,6-Me2C6H3) and 4-DMAP (4-dimethylaminopyridine) gave a neutral complex 18 and an ionic complex 19, respectively. Molecular structures of 12 complexes were unambiguously determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Ten complexes contain unprecedented PtAg skeletons and are shown to contain multiple number of dative Pt → Ag bonds supported by the TFA ligand, platinated carbon of the TAG ligand, or both these ligands in conjunction with the Ag-Ag contacts stabilized by argentophilic interaction. Further, the new complexes were characterized by analytical, IR, and multinuclear NMR (19F, 1H, 13C{1H}, and 195Pt) spectroscopies, powder X-ray diffraction, and TGA/DTA. In solution, 9 and 19 exist in more than one form as identified by multinuclear NMR, and this behavior is ascribed to the restricted (N2)C-N(H)Ar single-bond rotation of the TAG ligand. The photophysical properties of 9 and 11 are reported.

Abstract
The incorporation of dithiocarbamate ligands in the preparation of metal complexes is largely prompted by the versatility of this molecule. Fascinating coordination chemistry can be obtained from the study of such metal complexes ranging from their preparation, the solid-state properties, solution behavior as well as their applications as bioactive materials and luminescent compounds, to name a few. In this overview, the dithiocarbamate complexes of platinum-group elements form the focus of the discussion. The structural aspects of these complexes will be discussed based upon the intriguing findings obtained from their solid- (crystallographic) and solution-state (NMR) studies. At the end of this review, the applications of platinum-group metal complexes will be discussed.

Abstract
Technologies for monitoring meat spoilage are important to ensuring consumer safety. As dimethyl sulfide (DMS) is a reliable marker for meat freshness, sensitive and selective DMS sensors are of great interest. Herein, two trinuclear cyano-bridged bimetallic donor-acceptor ensembles, FeII(bpy)2(CN)2-[PtII(DMSO)Cl2]2 (1) and FeII(bpy)2(CN)2-[AuICl]2, were synthesized, and corresponding solid-supported sensors were fabricated to determine the effect of the acceptor metal (MA) on DMS detection. Changing MA from AuI to PtII improved the sensitivity and selectivity owing to changes in the relative thermodynamic stabilities of the complex and MA-DMS adduct. When applied to real meat samples, 1 exhibited a linear spectroscopic response to DMS, even in the presence of interfering compounds, with a method detection limit of 1.0 ppm. The total bacteria count and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry results revealed that the spectroscopic signal generated by 1 correlated with the microbial growth level and DMS concentration during meat spoilage.

Abstract
New type isomers that differ in metal-metal bond type are isolated. One is the Pt-Hg-Pt complex, which has two metal-metal covalent bonds, Pt-Hg = 2.5459(8) and 2.5483(7) Å, and the other is the Pt→Hg-Pt complex, which has one metal-metal covalent bond, Pt-Hg = 2.5744(6) Å, and one metal-metal dative bond, Pt→Hg = 2.6635(7) Å.

Abstract
Anionic cyclometalated complexes (NBu4)[Pt(CNC)X] (X = Cl (1), CN (2), or S-2py (pyridine-2-thiolate) (3); -CNC- = 2,6-di(phen-2-ide)-pyridine) have been used as precursors in the synthesis of heteropolynuclear Pt-Ag or Pt-Tl complexes containing donor-acceptor metal-metal bonds. Their reaction with AgClO4 or [Ag(OClO3)(PPh3)] produces complexes in which the nuclearity and structure seem to be determined by the ability of the ligand X to form bridges between the metals. Thus, the characteristic linear bridging of the cyano ligand leads to the formation of an octanuclear [{Pt(CNC)(μ-CN)}4Ag4] (4) or tetranuclear [{Pt(CNC)(μ-CN)}2{Ag(PPh3)}2] (6) complex, with CN bridges between different "Pt-Ag" units. However, the S-2py ligand can act as a bridge between Pt and Ag of the same "Pt-Ag" unit, giving rise to the complex [{Pt(CNC)(S-2py)}2Ag2]·CH2Cl2 (5). On the other hand, the reaction of 1-3 with TlPF6 yields the complexes [PtTl(CNC)Cl] (7), [PtTl(CNC)(CN)] (8), and (NBu4)[{Pt(CNC)(S-2py)}2Tl] (9), while with [Tl(S-2py)], [PtTl(CNC)(S-2py)] (10) is obtained. The structures of all these Pt-Tl complexes show great variation, with several geometric arrangements which sometime co-exist in the same crystal structure: discrete Pt-Tl, Pt-Tl-Pt and Pt-Tl-Pt-Tl units, as well as infinite Pt-Tl-Pt-Tl chains. This variability could be due to the lability of the Pt-Tl bonds and the ability of the thallium center to establish secondary interactions with donor atoms or aromatic π electron density from neighboring moieties.

Abstract
Described here is the synthesis and characterization of heteroleptic binuclear platinum(ii) complexes of the type [Pt2(μ-bpy-2H)(S^S)2] and [Pt2(μ-bpy-2H)(L)2(X)2], containing a 2,2'-bipyridine-based double rollover cycloplatinated core (Pt(μ-bpy-2H)Pt), in combination with the anionic S^S- chelate ligands di(ethyl)dithiocarbamate (dedtc) and O,O'-di(cyclohexyl)dithiophosphate (dcdtp) or non-chelating L/X ancillary ligands (PPh3/Me, t-BuNC/Me, PPh3/SCN and PPh3/N3). The new complexes were characterized using multinuclear (1H, 31P and 195Pt) NMR spectroscopy and some of them additionally using single crystal X-ray diffraction. The absorption and photoluminescence of the complexes show a strong dependence on the ancillary ligands. Upon excitation at 365 nm, in a CH2Cl2 rigid matrix (77 K), the complexes exhibit structured emission bands with λmax between 488 nm and 525 nm and vibrational spacing around 1350 cm-1, indicating the excited states centered on the cyclometalated ligand (3ILCT) with some mixing 3MLCT characteristics. In the case of the PPh3/N3 complex, a dual emission band (orange color) is observed in the solid state at 298 K for which the low energy band arises from an aggregation-induced emission (AIE). Upon lowering the temperature (77 K), thermochromism is observed (orange to yellow) which is accompanied by the intensification of the high energy band (ligand-centered structured band). Finally, in order to rationalize the obtained photophysical data, complete DFT (density functional theory) and TD-DFT (time-dependent DFT) calculations were performed on the selected complexes.

Abstract
The dinuclear Pt-Au complex [(CNC)(PPh3 )Pt Au(PPh3 )](ClO4 ) (2) (CNC=2,6-diphenylpyridinate) was prepared. Its crystal structure shows a rare metal-metal bonding situation, with very short Pt-Au and Au-Cipso (CNC) distances and dissimilar Pt-Cipso (CNC) bonds. Multinuclear NMR spectra of 2 show the persistence of the Pt-Au bond in solution and the occurrence of unusual fluxional behavior involving the [Pt(II) ] and [Au(I) ] metal fragments. The [Pt(II) ]⋅⋅⋅ [Au(I) ] interaction has been thoroughly studied by means of DFT calculations. The observed bonding situation in 2 can be regarded as a model for an intermediate in a transmetalation process.

Abstract
We synthesized a novel Pt(II)-diimine complex with a typical ambidentate thiocyanato ligand, [Pt(thiocyanato)(2)(H(2)dcbpy)] (1; H(2)dcbpy =4,4'-dicarboxy-2,2'-bipyridine), and found that the complex 1 exhibits unique linkage isomerizations with drastic color and luminescence changes driven by exposure to volatile organic chemical (VOC) vapors in the solid state. Reaction between [PtCl(2)(H(2)dcbpy)] and KSCN in aqueous solution at 0 °C enabled successful isolation of an isomer with the S-coordinated thiocyanato ligand, [Pt(SCN)(2)(H(2)dcbpy)] (1SS·H(2)O), as a nonluminescent orange solid. Interestingly, 1SS·H(2)O was isomerized completely to one isomer with the N-coordinated isothiocyanato ligand, [Pt(NCS)(2)(H(2)dcbpy)] (1NN·3DMF) by exposure to DMF vapor, and this isomerization was accompanied by significant color and luminescence changes from nonluminescent orange to luminescent red. IR spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis revealed that adsorption of the DMF vapor and transformation of the hydrogen-bonded structure both played important roles in this vapor-induced linkage isomerization. Another isomer containing both S- and N-coordinated thiocyanato ligands, [Pt(SCN)(NCS)(H(2)dcbpy)] (1SN), was obtained as a nonluminescent yellow solid simply by exposure of 1SS·H(2)O to acetone vapor at room temperature, and about 80% of 1SS·H(2)O was found to be converted to 1SN. In the solution state, each isomer changed gradually to an isomeric mixture, but pure 1SS was regenerated by UV light irradiation (λ(irr.) = 300 nm) of an MeOH solution of the mixture. In the crystal structure of 1SN, the complex molecules were hydrogen-bonded to each other through the carboxyl groups of the H(2)dcbpy ligand and the N site of the thiocyanato ligand, whereas the 1NN molecules in the 1NN·4DMF crystal were hydrogen-bonded to the solvated DMF molecules. Competition of the hydrogen-bonding ability among the carboxyl groups of the H(2)dcbpy ligand, N and S atoms of the thiocyanato ligand, and the vapor molecule was found to be one of the most important factors controlling linkage isomerization behavior in the solid state. This unique linkage isomerization controlled by vapor can provide an outstanding vapochromic system as well as a new molecular switching function driven by vapor molecules.
