Abstract
A highly robust, general, and practically simple palladium-catalyzed domino bicyclization strategy is presented to synthesize nitrogen-containing bis-heterocycles bearing methylene indole motifs from alkyne-tethered carbamoyl chlorides and β,γ- or γ,δ-unsaturated hydrazones. The salient features of this transformation include broad substrate scope, good functional group tolerance, ease for scale-up, and convenient conversion.

Abstract
An unprecedented protocol for a Rh(III)-catalyzed [3 + 2] annulation from simple and readily available enaminones and iodonium ylides has been developed. The novel strategy allows for access to a new class of structurally diverse tetrahydro-indolones with high efficiency and a broad substrate scope. In addition, this transformation represents the first example of the selective Rh(III)-catalyzed alkenyl C-H bond functionalization and annulation of enaminones. Finally, the potential applications of this protocol are demonstrated through gram-scale reaction and late-stage modification.

Abstract
Hexafluoroisopropanol (HFIP) was employed as an additive for the generation of 3-(chloromethylene)oxindoles via the chloroacylation of alkyne-tethered carbamoyl chlorides. This reaction avoids the use of a metal catalyst and accesses products in high yields and stereoselectivities. Additionally, this reaction is scalable and proved amenable to a series of product derivatizations, including the synthesis of nintedanib. The reactivity of alkene-tethered carbamoyl chlorides with hexafluoroisopropanol (HFIP) was harnessed towards the synthesis of 2-quinolinones.

Abstract
Predominantly, aggressive acid chlorides and stoichiometric coupling reagents are employed in the acylating process for synthesizing carbonyl tethered heterocycles. Herein, we report simple acyl sources, viz. methyl and phenyl esters, which acylate oxindoles via the mixed Claisen condensation. This straightforward protocol is mediated by LiHMDS and KOtBu and successfully applied to a wide range of substrates. It is a noteworthy transformation that skips the stepwise generation of enolates and acylation, and the reaction is performed at a moderate temperature with no side reactions. This protocol produces the first examples of ortho-substituents in an aryl ring flanked with electron-donating and electron-withdrawing substrates. Interestingly, robust organometallic ferrocenyl methyl ester cleaved under these conditions with ease. Furthermore, biologically important Tenidap's analog was synthesized by this protocol.

Abstract
The intramolecular C-H insertions of carbenes derived from 2-diazo-2-sulfamoylacetamides were studied. 2-Diazo-2-sulfamoylacetamides were first prepared from chloroacetyl chloride and secondary amines through acylation followed by sequential treatments with sodium sulfite, phosphorus oxychloride, secondary amines, and 4-nitrobenzenesulfonyl azide. The results indicate that: (1) 2-diazo-N,N-dimethyl-2-(N,N-diphenylsulfamoyl)acetamide can take the formal aromatic 1,5-C-H insertion in its N-phenylsulfonamide moiety to afford the corresponding 1,3-dihydrobenzo[c]isothiazole-3-carboxamide 2,2-dioxide derivative; (2) no aliphatic C-H insertions occur for 2-diazo-2-(N,N-dialkylsulfamoyl)acetamides; and (3) for 2-diazo-N-phenyl-2-(N-phenylsulfamoyl)acetamides, the formal aromatic 1,5-C-H insertion in the N-phenylacetamide moiety is favorable to afford the corresponding 3-sulfamoylindolin-2-one derivatives as sole or major products. The intramolecular competitive aromatic 1,5-C-H insertion reactions of 2-diazo-2-sulfamoylacetamides with aryl groups on both amide and sulfonamide groups reveal that the N-aryl substituents on acetamide are more active than those on sulfonamide. The chemoselectivity is controlled by electronic effect of the aryl group.

Abstract
Efficient and divergent one-pot synthesis of polyfunctionalized 2-pyridones from β-keto amides based on reaction condition selection was developed. The methodology offers several significant advantages including mild conditions, ease of handling, high yields, and a relatively broad range of substrates. Based on various experiments and observations, a plausible mechanism for the selective synthesis of 2-pyridones was proposed.

Abstract
We described herein the use of sonochemistry in the organocatalytic enamine-azide [3+2] cycloadditions of β-oxo-amides with a range of substituted aryl azides. These sonochemical promoted reactions were found to be amenable to a range of β-oxo amides or aryl azides, providing an efficient access to new N-aryl-1,2,3-triazoyl carboxamides in good to excellent yields and short times of reaction.

Abstract
An apparent intramolecular cross-dehydrogenative coupling of N-(3-hydroxy)monoanilide of maleic esters comprising base promoted phenoxide cyclization and subsequent base-mediated aerobic oxidation was developed to synthesize a variety of 2-(6-hydroxy-2-oxoindolin-3-ylidene)acetate derivatives. The isolation of intermediate cyclized products during the large scale reactions and their ready dehydrogenation with 1 equiv of base support this proposed two-step path.

Abstract
An efficient transition-metal-free fluoroarylation reaction of N-aryl diazoacetamides with NFSI (N-fluorobenzenesulfonimide) is described. This reaction directly provides 3-fluorooxindole derivatives in yields of 67-93% with high selectivity via a carbene-free process under mild reaction conditions.

Abstract
The regioselective synthesis of diverse naphtho[1,2-b]furan-3-amides and benzofuran-3-amides was accomplished by the In(OTf)3-catalyzed cascade formal [3 + 2] cycloaddition of 1,4-naphthoquinones or benzoquinones with β-ketoamides.
