Co(II)-coordination Complex: Fluorescence Performances and Combined with Taxotere-Hydrogels on Breast Cancer Treatment and Clinical Care

In this study, a novel coordination polymer {Co2(Oaobtc)(bpe)(H2O)4]}n (1) was synthesized under hydrothermal conditions using a hybrid ligand synthesis method, where H4Oobtc represents 2,3,3'-tricarboxylate azobenzene, and bpe represents 1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethylene. The obtained CP1 was characterized by elemental analysis (EA), powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA). Fluorescence testing confirmed the excellent photoluminescent performance of compound 1, indicating its potential as a cyan-emitting fluorescent material. Hyaluronic acid (HA) and carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS) are natural polysaccharides known for their biocompatibility. HA/CMCS hydrogels were synthesized using a chemical synthesis method, featuring a three-dimensional network structure with interconnected pores, and an average pore size of 314.75 ± 11.25 μm. The characterization of the taxotere-loaded hydrogel was performed using infrared spectroscopy, confirming the effective encapsulation of the drug within the hydrogel. Utilizing taxotere as a model drug, a novel taxotere-loaded metal gel was synthesized, and its anticancer efficacy was evaluated. Furthermore, the influence of different pH levels on drug release rate was investigated. Finally, the encapsulation and release of taxotere in the hydrogel were studied using UV-visible spectroscopy.

A New Dy(III) Complex: Fluorescence Performances, Loading with Resveratrol-Hydrogels Against Skin Aging and Molecular Docking

In the present research, novel lanthanide coordination compounds [DyL(PhCOO)(CH3OH)](ClO4)2·(CH3OH)2 (1) were characterized by the compression of 2,6-diformyl-4-methyl-phenol (dmp) and 1,3-diamino-2-propanol using benzoate as the secondary ligand, where L indicates the deprotonated macrocyclic ligand. Through the high structural rigidity driven by the coordination of the macrocyclic ligand formed by condensation in methanol solution and sodium benzoate with Dy(ClO4)3·6H2O, compound 1 exhibits outstanding cyan-emitting fluorescence performance and potential applications as a fluorescent material. Additionally, hyaluronic acid (HA)/ carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS) hydrogels were prepared with loaded resveratrol metal-organic complexes according to the synthetic chemical approach. In biological study, we evaluated the effect of hydrogels on oxidative stress on human dermal fibroblasts. Examined by molecular docking simulation, the results showed that the binding interactions were from the phenol group, the carboxyl group and also the "-N=" group, indicating Dy metal complex has excellent biological capability.

A dual-emitting Rhodamine B-encapsulated Zn-based MOF for the selective sensing of Chromium(VI)

A Rhodamine B-Zn-MOF composite (RhB-Zn-MOF) with dual emission intensity was synthesized through one pot synthesis by in-situ encapsulation of Rhodamine-B dye on a new Zn-MOF metal-organic framework [(Zn(OAc)2(4-BrIPh) (1,10-phenonthroline)(H2O)].H2O, (4-BrIPh = 4-Bromoisophthalic acid). The synthesized encapsulated material was characterized by elemental analysis, FTIR, UV-Visible spectroscopy, TGA, single crystal and powder X-ray diffraction and photoluminescence spectroscopy. The results showed that the synthesized composite, RhB-Zn-MOF could be used as an efficient probe for the selective sensing of Cr(VI) in the presence of Cr(III) as well as other metal ions.

Zn(II) Coordination Polymer: Luminescence Sensing for Fe3+ Ion and Used as Metal Gel Particles Against Lung Cancer

Presented here is a new Zn(II) coordination polymer, namely [Zn2(L)2(bpe)]n (1, H2L = 4-({2-[(4-carboxyphenoxy)methyl]phenyl}methoxy)benzoic acid, bpe = 1,2-bis(4-pyridinyl)ethane), which has been hydrothermally synthesized via the mixed-ligand strategy. Moreover, compound 1 emits intense luminescence at room temperature, and can be used as a luminescent sensor for the detection of Fe3+ in water solution with high selectivity and sensitivity. As representatives of natural polysaccharides, hyaluronic acid (HA) and carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS) have good biocompatibility. A new type of HA/CMCS gel particles loaded with Paclitaxel drug metal-organic framework was prepared by chemical synthesis method and its micromorphology was studied. Finally, biological experiments were conducted to evaluate the new system's effect on the activity of human lung cancer cells.

A New Zn(II) Compound: Luminescent Property and Promoting Knee Cartilage Repair by Modulating Iron Death

The hydrothermal reactions of bis{6-{5-methyl-1 H,7 H-[1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidin-7-one}}methane (L) and Zn(NO3)2·6H2O at 180 ℃ afforded a novel Zn(II) coordination polymer (CP), that is, {[Zn2(L)(µ2-O)2]·3H2O}n (1), which further characterized via Single crystal X-ray diffraction (SCXRD), elemental analysis (EA), powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Besides, this CP reveals strong luminescence that may be caused by the charge transfer within the ligand. In biological study, the new compound was evaluated for its protective effect on chondrocytes. This compound significantly up-regulated GPX4 and down-regulated HO-1 mRNA levels, thereby inhibiting iron death in chondrocytes.

Synthesis and Fluorescent Characteristics Study of Two Novel Co(II) Complexes

In this work, two novel mixed-ligand CPs that has a compositions of [Co2(µ-Hdppa)2(phen)2(H2O)2] (1) and {[Co(µ-Hdppa)(µ-4,4'-bipy)(H2O)]·H2O}n (2) is achieved through reaction of cobalt salts with the 5-(3,4-Dicarboxylphenyl)picolinic acid (H3dppa) with various N-donor co-ligands (1,10-phenanthroline (phen) for 1 and 4,4'-bipyridine (4,4'-bipy) for 2). The structures and characteristics of these two complexes were fully examined via IR, TGA, and SXRD. Furthermore, their superior blue fluorescence properties compared to the original ligands were confirmed through fluorescence spectroscopy. These two complexes prepared in this study have enriched the choices for blue fluorescent materials.

Application Values of Two Cu(II) Schiff Base Coordination Complexes on Blue Fluorescent Materials

Two Schiff base binuclear Cu(II) compounds, [Cu2(L)2·(H2O)2]·2DMF (1) together with its coordination polymer (CP) [Cu2(L)2·(4,4'-bpy)2]n (2) (H2L is 4-hydroxy-3-((2-hydroxy-5-mercaptobenzylidene)amino)-2H-chromen-2-one and 4,4'-bpy is 4,4'-bipyridine), were generated under an identical experimental environment in the absence and existence of auxiliary ligand 4,4'-bpy. Fluorescence spectroscopy testing shows that the ligand-based blue fluorescence emission offers potential for application as a blue photoluminescent material.

Recent Advances of Silver-Based Coordination Polymers on Antibacterial Applications

With the continuous evolution of bacteria and the constant use of traditional antibiotics, the emergence of drug-resistant bacteria and super viruses has attracted worldwide attention. Antimicrobial therapy has become the most popular and important research field at present. Coordination Polymer (CP) and/or metal-organic framework (MOF) platforms have the advantages of a high biocompatibility, biodegradability, and non-toxicity, have a great antibacterial potential and have been widely used in antibacterial treatment. This paper reviewed the mechanism and antibacterial effect of three typical MOFs (pure Ag-MOFs, hybrid Ag-MOFs, and Ag-containing-polymer @MOFs) in silver-based coordination polymers. At the same time, the existing shortcomings and future views are briefly discussed. The study on the antibacterial efficacy and mechanism of Ag-MOFs can provide a better basis for its clinical application and, meanwhile, open up a novel strategy for the preparation of more advanced Ag-contained materials with antibacterial characteristics.

Facile synthesis of dual-ligand terbium-organic gels as ratiometric fluorescence probes for efficient mercury detection

Mercury (Hg) pollution can negatively impact ecosystems, and there is a need for simple Hg²⁺ monitoring platforms. Here, a dual-ligand fluorescence probe based on terbium-organic gels (Tb-L_0.2P_0.8 MOGs) was constructed for efficient Hg²⁺ detection. Tb-L_0.2P_0.8 MOGs were developed through a facile room-temperature gelation method, showing two emission peaks derived from luminol and Tb³⁺ at 424 nm and 544 nm, respectively. The aggregation-induced emission (AIE) effect between luminol and Tb³⁺ led to luminol with blue fluorescence. However, Hg²⁺ could dramatically quench the fluorescence signal of luminol at 424 nm because of the intense coordination interaction of Hg²⁺ with luminol and photo-induced electron transfer (PET). The Phen ligand could sensitize the luminescence of Tb³⁺ and offer a reference fluorescence, thus resulting in a unique ratiometric fluorescence response toward Hg²⁺. This novel nanoprobe had excellent linearity with Hg²⁺ concentrations range of 0.1-30 μM; the detection limit was 3.6 nM. The analysis of real samples showed the potential application of MOGs for measuring Hg²⁺ in porphyra and tap water. Mixed ligands were introduced for high-efficiency strategies to improve the analytical performance by regulating the emission behavior of MOGs.

Fabrication of Two Isomorphic and Hyperstable Rare Earth-Based Metal-Organic Frameworks with Efficient Ratiometric Probe and Photocatalytic Performances

Two isomorphic lanthanide compounds {[Ln(ddpp)(H₂O)]·CH₃CN}_n (Ln = Eu and Gd, H₄ddpp = 2,5-di(2',4'-dicarboxylphenyl)pyridine) were synthesized. Complex 1-Eu displays ultrahigh acid-base stability and thermal stability. Furthermore, luminescence measurements revealed that 1-Eu could detect quinolone antibiotics with an ultralow limit of detection in aqueous solution. The ratiometric probe properties for sensing antibiotics could be attributed to the incompletely sensitized Eu³⁺ ion of the ligand. Remarkably, it is interesting that 1-Gd exhibits excellent tetracycline degradation properties under visible light. Ultraviolet-visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy and valence band X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy were carried out to investigate the photodegradation mechanisms. Moreover, a rational explanation for the fluorescent probe and photocatalysis behavior of these two complexes was also discussed with the assistance of density functional theory calculations.

Zn(II) coordination polymers: therapeutic activity and nursing application values against coronary heart disease

In the current research, two coordination polymers (CPs) have been produced solvothermally on the basis of a semi-rigid multifunctional tricarboxylate, i.e., 5-(3,4-dicarboxylphenoxy) nicotic acid (H₃L), and the chemical compositions of the two compounds are [Zn(H₂L)₂(H₂O)₂] 1 and [Zn(HL)(2,2'-bpy)] (2, 2,2'-bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine), respectively. The structures and CHN analysis of both complexes were researched. The structural analysis results show that complex 1 features a 2D layered network with sql-type topology and complex 2 demonstrates a 2D layered network with uninodal hcb topology. The therapeutic activity and nursing application values of compounds against coronary heart disease were explored, and their relevant mechanism was assessed in meantime. The endothelin (ET) and prostacyclin (PGI2) contents released by the arterial endothelial cells into plasma were determined with ELISA assay. In addition to this, the alpha granule membrane protein 140 (GMP140) on the platelet was determined with real-time RT-PCR assay.

A new Cu(II)-containing coordination polymer: protective effect and mechanism exploration on elderly osteoporotic hip fractures via regulating the wnt signaling pathway

Elderly osteoporosis hip fracture has drawn the attention of the researcher. The coordination polymer was now widely used in clinic because their multiple structures and biological activities. In this present research, the new coordination polymer was designed and synthesized and their application values on elderly osteoporosis hip were evaluated. The reaction between Cu(II) salt and 4,4'-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)methylene-bis(benzoic acid) (H2tzmb), an aromatase inhibitor letrozole derivative with the aid of the organic linker 4,4-bipyridine (4,4'-bpy) affords a new coordination polymer based on Cu(II) ions as nodes of {[Cu2(tzmb)2(4,4'-bpy) (μ2-H2O)2(DMA) (H2O)2]·10DMA}n (1). The complex 1 gained is totally investigated with the powder X-ray diffraction study, thermogravimetric analyses, the diffraction of single-crystal X-ray, elemental analysis as well as the Fourier transform infrared spectrometer spectra. The osteogenic differentiation of mesenchymal stem cell was measured with the western blotting assay through determining the Runx2 expression. The wnt signaling pathway relative expression in mesenchymal stem cell was detected through the determination of real-time RT-PCR. The cytotoxicity of the compound on the mesenchymal stem cell was determined with CCK-8 assay. The result of single-crystal X-ray diffraction reflects that the complex 1 has crystallized in space group R-3c of trigonal system and exhibits a three-dimensional skeleton architecture on the bases of the SBUs {Cu(tzmb)(μ2-H2O)}n. The western blotting assay results revealed that this compound could significantly promote the osteogenic differentiation of mesenchymal stem cell. Besides, the activation of wnt signaling pathway in mesenchymal stem cell was also increased by the compound exposure. Finally, it can be summed up that this compound has excellent application values on the elderly osteoporotic hip fractures treatment by increasing the activation of wnt signaling pathway in mesenchymal stem cell. The results of the CCK-8 assay indicated that the compound has no cytotoxicity on the mesenchymal stem cell. The molecular docking simulation results have identified that only the carboxyl group on the Cu complex exhibits the activity for the hydrogen bond formation, however, the pyridine ring does not have such activity, instead, the pyridine ring only acts as the ligand that binds to the Cu ion. This Cu(II) coordination polymer has excellent application values on the elderly osteoporotic hip fractures treatment by increasing the activation of wnt signaling pathway in mesenchymal stem cell.

Rational and site-selective formation of coordination polymers consisting of d10 coinage metal ions with thiolate ligands using a metal ion-doped polymer substrate

Here, we report an interfacial approach for fabricating coordination polymers (CPs) consisting of d10 coinage metal ions with thiolate ligands on a polymer substrate. It was found that CPs were selectively formed on the polymer substrate, resulting in the formation of CP-based thin films. In addition, utilizing a mixed metal ion-doped polymer substrate leads to the formation of mixed-metal CP-based films.

A new Bi(III)-based coordination complex: Treatment and nursing application values on pediatric pneumonia

In the current work, through applying the mixed-ligand generation method, [Bi4Cl8(PDC)2 (2,2′-bpy)4]·2MeCN (1), a fresh bismuth (III)-organic compound synthesized with the solvothermal reactions between 2,2′-bipyridine (2,2′-bpy); 2,6-pyridinedicarboxylic acid (H2PDC); and bismuth chloride. The structural characterization results show that complex 1 features a binuclear discrete structure which is further extended into a 1D chain–like supramolecular network via π–π interactions. Furthermore, the compound’s treatment and nursing application values on pediatric pneumonia was explored and the novel compound’s corresponding mechanism was also investigated. First of all, in our research, the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) detection kit was employed for the determination of the inflammatory cytokines content released into alveolar lavage fluid. Subsequently, the adenosine 5‘-monophosphate (AMP)–activated protein kinase (AMPK) signaling pathway activation in alveolar epithelial cells was explored exploiting the real-time reverse transcription–polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Molecular docking demonstrated that although multiple pyridine rings are presented in the Bi complex, however, only the carboxylate groups have been observed to interact with the active residues.

Two New Zn(II)/Cu(II) Compounds: Photoluminescent and Photocatalytic Properties, and Protective Activity on Parkinson Disease

Two coordination polymers, that is [Zn(pdc)(im)(H₂O)]_n (1) and [Cu(pdc)(im)₂]_n·n(H₂pdc) (2) (H₂pdc = terephthalic acid, im = imidazole), were hydrothermally synthesized via the reactions of H₂pdc and im in combination with Zn(II) or Cu(II) ions. Compound 1 shows intense blue luminescence and compound 2 shows good photocatalytic activity for the methyl violet degradation under the irradiation of ultraviolet light. In addition, the assessment of the two compounds' application values against Parkinson's disease were carried out and their specific mechanism was tested simultaneously. First of all, the real time RT-PCR was implemented and the relative expression levels of N-methyl-D-aspartic acid receptor receptor on neurons were measured. Besides, the Annexin V-FITC/PI apoptosis assay was utilized for the assessment of the influence of the compounds on the dopaminergic neuron death rate. The hemolysis toxicity detection was conducted to detect the biocompatible of the compounds.

Luminescent property and application values of a new Cd(II) compound in tuberculosis treatment and clinical nursing

Through the reaction between HTrz and Cd(NO₃)₂ · 4H₂O, a new Cd(II) compound of [Cd(Trz) ₂] _n (1, HTrz = 1,2,4-triazole) can be obtained, which has been studied with diffraction analysis by single crystal X-ray as well as powder X-ray diffraction. The structure of 1 can be stable up to 265°C, and the solid samples of 1 emit intense blue luminescence at room temperature. Along with the evaluation of tuberculosis treatment and clinical nursing, related mechanism was also studied here. Firstly, ELISA assay was conducted and the IL-10 and IL-18 released into the alveolar lavage fluid was determined. Apart from this, the real-time RT-PCR was used to reflect surviving gene’s relative expression of Mycobacterium tuberculosis after compound treatment.
