Two new 3D Supramolecular Frameworks as Photocatalysts for Degradation of Methyl Blue

We successfully synthesized two new supramolecular frameworks, namely {[Cu2(L1)(H2O)2]·(H2O)}n (1) and {[Ag(L2)(bpp)]2n·2(H2O)}n (2) (H2L1 = 2-hydroxy-5-sulfobenzoic acid, HL2 = 8-hydroxyquinoline-2-sulfonic acid) under hydrothermal condition. These single-crystal structures were determined via X-ray single crystal diffraction analyses. Solids 1 and 2 acted as photocatalysts and performed good photocatalytic activities for MB degradation under UV light irradiation.

Two New Zn(II)/Cd(II) Complexes: Luminescent Properties and Treatment Activity on Cardiovascular Disease

Two new supramolecular frameworks, namely [Zn(HBTC)(H₂O)₂]_n·n(MA) (1) and {[Cd(OBDC)₂(MA)(H₂O)Cl](HMA)₃(H₂O)₁₀(DMA)}_n (2) (H₃BTC = 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid, H₂OBDC = phthalic acid, MA = melamine, DMA = N,N'-dimethylacetamide), have been solvothermally prepared. In addition, the solid-state luminescent properties of 1-2 at room temperature was discussed in this article as well. Their application values on the cardiovascular disease treatment were explored and we also discussed the corresponding mechanism simultaneously. Firstly, the IL-6 and IL-18 released into the plasma was measured with indicated ELISA assay. Besides, the real time RT-PCR was also performed, while activation levels of AMPK signaling pathway was determined after compound treatment.

Two New Zn(II)/Cu(II) Compounds: Photoluminescent and Photocatalytic Properties, and Protective Activity on Parkinson Disease

Two coordination polymers, that is [Zn(pdc)(im)(H₂O)]_n (1) and [Cu(pdc)(im)₂]_n·n(H₂pdc) (2) (H₂pdc = terephthalic acid, im = imidazole), were hydrothermally synthesized via the reactions of H₂pdc and im in combination with Zn(II) or Cu(II) ions. Compound 1 shows intense blue luminescence and compound 2 shows good photocatalytic activity for the methyl violet degradation under the irradiation of ultraviolet light. In addition, the assessment of the two compounds' application values against Parkinson's disease were carried out and their specific mechanism was tested simultaneously. First of all, the real time RT-PCR was implemented and the relative expression levels of N-methyl-D-aspartic acid receptor receptor on neurons were measured. Besides, the Annexin V-FITC/PI apoptosis assay was utilized for the assessment of the influence of the compounds on the dopaminergic neuron death rate. The hemolysis toxicity detection was conducted to detect the biocompatible of the compounds.

Sonochemical synthesis and structural characterization of an organic-inorganic nanohybrid based on a copper-dithiocarbamate complex and PMo12O403- polyanion as a novel sonocatalyst

A new organic-inorganic nanohybrid compound, ([Cu{(HOCH₂CH₂)₂NCS₂}₂]₃[PMo₁₂O₄₀] (1)), has been prepared by sonochemical technique using copper(II) dithiocarbamate complex and a Keggin-type polyoxomolybdate in this research. FT-IR, XRD, FE-SEM, TEM, EDX, UV-Vis, TGA, BET, and single crystal XRD analyses were applied to describe the properties of the composition of the nanohybrid. Compound (1) is composed of [PMo₁₂O₄₀]^3- building blocks and [Cu{(HOCH₂CH₂)₂NCS₂}₂]¹⁺ cationic moieties, and electrostatic forces and substantial hydrogen-bonding interactions were applied to pack them; and consequently, a three dimensional supramolecular framework was made based on single-crystal X-ray diffraction patterns. FE-SEM and TEM images approved the morphology of the nanohybrid sample to be extremely penetrable. Very good sonocatalytic performance is shown by this supramolecular nanohybrid in the degradation of Rhodamine B (RhB), which is a cationic organic dye. The results showed complete degradation of cationic RhB (25 mg/L) within 70 min with the rate constant of 0.039min^-1 in the presence of nanohybrid (1) and H₂O₂ (4 mmol/L). Also, sonocatalytic activity of the nanohybrid (1) was higher than H₃PMo₁₂O₄₀, showing that the combining Cu(DEDTC)₂ complex with H₃PMo₁₂O₄₀ could be an excellent choice to improve its sonocatalytic activity. The used nanohybrid (1) can be recycled after easily removing from the reaction media by centrifuging, and there was no considerable loss of catalytic activity and retention of the structure.
