Abstract
Fully reduced polyoxometalates are predicted to give rise to a broad and strong absorption spectrum, suitable energy levels, and unparalleled electronic and optical properties. However, they are not available to date. Here, an unprecedented fully reduced polyoxomolybdate cluster, namely Na8[MoV 60O140(OH)28]·19H2O {MoV 60}, was successfully designed and obtained under hydrothermal conditions, which is rare and is the largest fully reduced polyoxometalate reported so far. The MoV 60 molecule describes one Keggin {ε-Mo12} encapsulated in an unprecedented {Mo24} cage, giving rise to a double truncated tetrahedron quasi-nesting architecture, which is further face-capped by another four {Mo6} tripods. Its crystalline stability in air, solvent tolerance, and photosensitivity were all shown. As a cheap and robust molecular light-absorber model possessing wide light absorption, MoV 60 was applied to build a co-sensitized solar cell photoelectronic device along with N719 dyes and the optimal power conversion efficiency was 28% higher than that of single-dye sensitization. These results show that MoV 60 polyoxometalate could serve as an ideal model for the design and synthesis of all-inorganic molecular light-absorbers for other light-driven processes in the future.

Abstract
The 36-NiII -containing 54-tungsto-6-silicate, [Ni36 (OH)18 (H2 O)36 (SiW9 O34 )6 ]6- (Ni36 ) was synthesized by a simple one-pot reaction of the Ni2 -pivalate complex [Ni2 (μ-OH2 )(O2 CCMe3 )4 (HO2 CCMe3 )4 ] with the trilacunary [SiW9 O34 ]10- polyanion precursor in water and structurally characterized by a multitude of physicochemical techniques including single-crystal XRD, FTIR, TGA, elemental analysis, magnetic and electrochemical studies. Polyanion Ni36 comprises six equivalent {NiII 6 SiW9 } units which are linked by Ni-O-W bridges forming a macrocyclic assembly. Magnetic studies demonstrate that the {Ni6 } building blocks in Ni36 remain magnetically intact while forming a hexagonal ring with antiferromagnetic exchange interactions between adjacent {Ni6 } units. Electrochemical studies indicate that the first reduction is reversible and associated with the WVI/V couple, whereas the second reduction is irreversible attributed to the NiII/0 couple.

Abstract
A novel ruthenium-containing polyoxometalate-based organic-inorganic hybrid, K4Na9H7.4[(AsW9O33)4(WO2)4{Ru3.2(C3H3N2)2}]·42H2O (1), was successfully synthesized by a one-step hydrothermal method under acidic conditions, which applied a self-assembly strategy between inorganic polyoxometalate based on trivacant [B-α-AsW9O33]9- {AsW9} fragments and an organic ligand, imidazole (C3H4N2). Compound 1 was further characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, PXRD, IR spectroscopy, UV-Vis spectroscopy, ESI-MS, elemental analysis and TGA. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction data reveal that the polyanion consists of four trivacant Keggin-type polyanion {AsW9} building blocks bridged by four {WO6} units, leading to a crown-shaped tetrameric structure [(AsW9O33)4(WO2)4{Ru3.2(C3H3N2)2}]20.4-. The ESI-MS result reveals that the polyanion unit has excellent structural integrity in water. Moreover, the catalysis study of 1 was also further investigated, and the experimental results indicate heterogeneous catalyst 1 presents high efficiency (yield = 98%), excellent selectivity (>99%), and good recyclability for the oxidation of 1-(4-chlorophenyl)ethanol to 4'-chloroacetophenone with commercially available 70% aqueous tert-butyl hydroperoxide {TBHP (aq.)} as the oxidant at room temperature.

Abstract
Five-coordinate geometry around ruthenium with highly exposed active sites has attracted intensive scientific interest due to its superior properties and extensive applications. Herein, we report a series of structurally controllable multi-Ru-bridged polyoxometalates, K5NaH10[{Ru4(H2O)n}(WO2)4(AsW9O33)4]·mH2O {1, 1-dehyd-373K, 1-dehyd-473K, 1-dehyd-573K; n = 4, m = 36; n = 4, m = 6; n = 4, m = 0; n = 0, m = 0} fabricated through a feasible assembly strategy using arsenotungstate {2, KNa12H17Cl2(As4W40O140)·29H2O} as a structure-directing unit. Systematic characterization methods identified that the six-coordinate geometry can successfully transform into five-coordinate geometry about active sites (Ru) by removing aqua ligands under high reaction temperatures. All the multi-Ru-bridged polyoxometalates demonstrated strong stability and catalytic effectiveness in the transformation of 1-(4-chlorophenyl)ethanol to 4'-chloroacetophenone under very mild conditions. 1-dehyd-573K, specifically, achieves the best catalytic effectiveness with a turnover frequency (TOF) = 25 100·h-1 owing to its unique five-coordinate geometry on the Ru sites. To our knowledge, 1-dehyd-573K outperforms other POM-based catalysts in the oxidative catalysis of 1-(4-chlorophenyl)ethanol. The heterogeneous polyoxometalates were also proven to be strongly reusable, with their structural integrities well maintained after multiple-cycle catalytic reactions.

Abstract
The assembly of gigantic heterometallic metal clusters remains a great challenge for synthetic chemistry. Herein, based on the slow release strategy of lanthanide ions and in situ formation of lacunary polyoxometalates, two giant 3d-4f polyoxometalate inorganic clusters [LaNi12 W35 Sb3 P3 O139 (OH)6 ]23- (LaNi12 ) and [La10 Ni48 W140 Sb16 P12 O568 (OH)24 (H2 O)20 ]86- (La10 Ni48 ) are obtained. The nanoscopic inorganic cluster La10 Ni48 possesses a super tetrahedron structure, which can be viewed as assembly from four LaNi12 molecules encapsulating a central [La6 (SbO3 )4 (H2 O)20 ]6+ octahedron core. This giant aesthetic La10 Ni48 tetrahedron containing 214 metal ions is the largest 3d-4f cluster reported thus far in polyoxometalate system. More interestingly, the LaNi12 and La10 Ni48 display high stability in solution and La10 Ni48 displays excellent proton conductivity.

Abstract
Two ruthenium-containing polyoxometalate-based hybrids (Ru-POMs), KH8[Ru3O(Trz)6Cl3]2[(NaO6)W6(H2O)6(AsW9O33)4]·28H2O (1) and H3[Ru3O(Trz)6Cl3]2[(WO)2W(OH)(AsW9O33)2]·6H2O (2), (Trz = 1,2,4-triazole), were successfully isolated by a one-step hydrothermal method under different acidic conditions and further characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), IR spectroscopy, electrospray ionization and mass spectrometry (ESI-MS), thermogravimetric (TG) analyses and elemental analyses. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses reveal two polyanions comprised of four/two identical trivacant Keggin-type polyanion building blocks, leading to the formation of tetrameric/dimeric assembly stabilized by additional metal-oxo cores, respectively. ESI-MS shows that the polyanion units [(NaO6)W6(H2O)6(AsW9O33)4]11- and [(WO)2W(OH)(AsW9O33)2]5- are intact in mixed solvent. Moreover, the two heterogeneous catalysts with trinuclear ruthenium cations were further investigated, and 1 was found to exhibit much higher yield (94.1%)/conversion (95.1%) and better selectivity (>99%) towards the oxidation of thioanisole to sulfoxide than 2.

Abstract
A large X-shaped polyoxometalate, [As6Fe7Mo22O98]25- (1), has been synthesized and structurally characterized. The skeleton of 1 is composed of two monocapped hexavacant Keggin [AsMo7O27]9- units and two divacant Anderson [FeMo4O19]11- units fused together through a central Fe5O4 core and two μ4-As2O bridging units, resulting in a unique tetramer with C2h symmetry. The polyanion represents the largest iron-containing arsenomolybdate to date and it contains an unprecedented heptanuclear iron(iii) cluster. The investigation of the magnetic properties shows that the Fe7 cluster exhibits an overall ferromagnetic interaction with a spin ground state of S = 7.5.
