Abstract
Chitosan/zeolite-X (CHS/ZX) was synthesized to serve as an effective adsorbent for metal porphyrins through adsorption processes as an alternative to traditional separation methods from crude oil. The adsorption-desorption mechanisms of vanadyl and nickel tetraphenyl porphyrin (VO-TPP and Ni-TPP) were conducted on the model solution. Compared to individual components CHS and ZX, the CHS/ZX composite exhibited a doubled capacity for metal porphyrin removal. The synthesized composite was systematically characterized using FESEM, BET, XRD, FTIR, TGA, XPS, and CHN analyses. The study investigated the impact of many factors, including temperature, initial metal-porphyrin concentration, CHS/ZX dose, and contact time, on the adsorption efficiency of metal-porphyrin using CHS/ZX adsorbents. The adsorption processes of VO-TPP and Ni-TPP on CHS/ZX were effectively assessed through various equilibrium models, such as Langmuir, Freundlich, and Dubinin-Radushkevich (D-R). The pseudo-second-order model accurately depicted the adsorption processes of both VO-TPP and Ni-TPP. Determining the point of zero charge (pHPZC) highlighted the composite's surface charge distribution. Furthermore, considering the ΔG° and ΔH° values, the adsorption processes at different temperatures are exothermic, and VO-TPP exhibits a greater adsorption capacity than Ni-TPP under similar conditions. Notably, 73.7 % of VO-TPP and 83.8 % of Ni-TPP that were adsorbed were successfully recovered.

Abstract
To realize efficient water splitting, a highly promising hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) electrocatalyst is needed for the generation of hydrogen. Herein, we demonstrate a novel acenaphthenediimine complex-bridged porphyrin porous organic polymer (NiTAPP-NiACQ) with enriched active metal sites and hierarchical pores. The as-prepared NiTAPP-NiACQ exhibits good long-term durability and remarkable HER performance in 1.0 M KOH with a low overpotential of 117 mV at 10 mA cm-2, which is comparable to many previously reported electrocatalytic HER systems. Furthermore, a simple water-alkali electrolyzer using NiTAPP-NiACQ as the cathode requires a small cell voltage of 1.59 V to deliver a current density of 10 mA cm-2 at room temperature, along with outstanding durability. NiTAPP-NiACQ features not only a metal ion as the catalytic active center in the porphyrin core but also metal ion coordination on the anthraquinone component to promote HER performance, enabling multiple metal ions as the electrocatalytic active sites for the HER reaction. The excellent HER activity of NiTAPP-NiACQ is ascribed to a combination of mechanisms. These findings highlight the viability of porphyrin-derived porous organic polymers in energy conversion processes.

Abstract
In the present study, NiII immobilized on Fe3O4@WO3 functionalized by aminated epichlorohydrin using S-methylisothiourea (Fe3O4@WO3-E-SMTU-NiII) as a novel magnetically separable nanostructured catalyst was successfully synthesized and characterized using FT-IR, XRD, TEM, FE-SEM, EDX, EDX mapping, VSM, TGA, H2-TPR, ICP-OES and CHNS techniques. Characterization results revealed the spherical morphology and superparamagnetic behaviour of the as-synthesized catalyst with mean diameters of 19-31 nm as well as uniform distributions of the desired elements (Fe, O, W, C, N, S and Ni). The antibacterial activity of Fe3O4@WO3-E-SMTU-NiII was evaluated against a set of Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria, and the catalyst showed considerable activity against the Staphylococcus aureus strain. The aforementioned nanostructured catalyst exhibited perfect catalytic efficiency in the Heck-Mizoroki and Suzuki-Miyaura reactions under mild conditions without using toxic solvents (EtOH as a green solvent and WEB as a benign base). Desired coupled products were obtained from the reaction of different Ar-X (X = I, Br, Cl) with alkyl acrylates and arylboronic acids. A high nickel content with negligible metal leaching during the course of reactions led to the high catalytic performance and stability of Fe3O4@WO3-E-SMTU-NiII under optimized reaction conditions. The magnetically separation and ease of recovery and reusability of up to six cycles without a discernible decrease in catalytic activity or metal leaching are the most important features of the catalytic system from both industrial and environmental viewpoints.

Abstract
A water-soluble nickel complex based on amino-β-CD was developed using a facile method and exhibits excellent catalytic performance in the Suzuki reaction in water. This synthesized complex has been characterized using UV-Vis, AAS, TGA, and FT-IR techniques. The easily synthesized novel supramolecular catalysts have been applied as a green and eco-friendly catalyst in the Suzuki coupling for preparing diverse biaryls. This result indicates that using 2.5 mol% of nickel, K2CO3 as the best base, and water as the green solvent are the best reaction conditions. This new catalyst features easy handling, low-cost, mild, and simple protocol. The use of low-cost and accessibility of the reagents, modest conditions, and good yields of products are notable characteristics of this method. Using aqueous media with this catalyst as a proper catalyst makes the presented process a fascinating method compared to most reports. Under mild reaction conditions, this green Ni(II)-β-CD catalyst displayed recyclable behavior seven times with minor loss in its catalytic activity.

Abstract
Nickel(II) porphyrins typically adopt a square planar coordination geometry, with the nickel atom located at the center of the porphyrin ring and the coordinating atoms arranged in a square plane. The additional atoms or groups coordinated to the nickel atom in nickel(II) porphyrins are called ligands. Porphyrins have been investigated as potential agents for imaging and treating cancer due to their ability to selectively bind to tumor cells and be used as sensors for a variety of analytes. Nickel(II) porphyrins are relatively stable compounds, with high thermal and chemical stability. They can be stored in a solid state or in solution without significant degradation. In this study, we compute several connectivity indices, such as general Randi'c, hyper Zagreb, and redefined Zagreb indices, based on the degrees of vertices of the chemical graph of nickel porphyrins. Then, we compute the entropy and heat of formation NiP production, among other physical parameters. Using MATLAB, we fit curves between various indices and the thermodynamic properties parameters, notably the heat of formation and entropy, using various linearity- and non-linearity-based approaches. The method's effectiveness is evaluated using [Formula: see text], the sum of squared errors, and root mean square error. We also provide visual representations of these indexes. These mathematical frameworks might offer a mechanism to investigate the thermodynamical characteristics of NiP's chemical structure under various circumstances, which will help us understand the connection between system dimensions and these metrics.

Abstract
In this work, a green and cost-effective method based on halloysite as natural catalyst for the synthesis of α-amino nitriles via Strecker three-component reaction is introduced. The chemical and physical structure of natural halloysite has characterized thoroughly, and then the effect of different parameters such as the amount of catalyst, solvent, and temperature was optimized in the synthesis of 2-phenyl-2-(phenylamino)acetonitrile as the model reaction. Then, various substituted benzaldehydes and anilines were converted to the desired α-amino nitriles under the optimized conditions. Electronic properties of substituents on aldehydes and aromatic amines have been affected the reaction efficiency. For all substrates, good to excellent yields of the corresponding α-amino nitriles were obtained under solvent-free conditions at room temperature. The catalyst has been recovered and reused five times in successive Strecker reaction.

Abstract
Agar-coated Fe3O4 nanoparticles (Fe3O4@agar) were prepared simply through in situ co-precipitation of Fe2+ and Fe3+ ions via NH4OH in an aqueous solution of Agar. Coating of Ag+ ions on the surface of the latter followed by mild reduction of Ag+ with NaBH4 gives Fe3O4@Agar-Ag NPs. The magnetic Fe3O4@Agar-Ag nanocatalyst was characterized thoroughly by FT-IR, XRD, SEM, TEM, VSM, EDX, TGA, and ICP analyses. Its catalytic activity was assessed in the synthesis of 12-aryl-8,9,10,12-tetrahydrobenzo[a]xanthene-11-one, 14-aryl-14H-dibenzo[a,j]xanthenes, and 1,8-dioxo-octahydroxanthene derivatives through a one-pot condensation of dimedone, 2-naphthol, and aryl aldehydes in EtOH. This novel method represents lots of advantages compared to the previous researches, such as avoiding the toxic catalysts, easy method for isolation of the products, satisfying yields, totally clean conditions, and simplicity of the methodology. This catalytic system is attributed to an eco-friendly process, high catalytic activity, and facility of recovery using an external magnet. A novel and magnetically recyclable catalyst known as Fe3O4@Agar-Ag NPs as a heterogeneous catalyst were synthesized by a simple method. Using this facile, efficient, and eco-friendly Nanocomposite, for the different models of xanthene reaction was represented.

Abstract
In this study, a core-shell magnetic metal organic framework (MOF) catalyst was introduced based on Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) and copper organic frameworks. In this catalyst, Fe3O4 MNPs have been coated with MOFs in which copper was the inorganic nodes and 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid was the organic linkers. Then, the core-shell structures and catalytic efficiency have been confirmed properly and completely with various analyses such as FT-IR, TEM, SEM, TEM mapping, SEM mapping, EDX, PXRD, TGA, ICP and VSM. The Cu moieties in MOF and shell structures can catalyze the synthesis of 1,2,3-triazole derivatives with good to excellent yields in the presence of water as a green solvent. Moreover, this catalyst showed the high reusability due to the super paramagnetic properties.

In parallel with increasing Ni production and utilisation, Ni pollution in the soil-water continuum has become an alarming and global problem. Solutions for removing Ni from industrial effluents have been widely investigated and biosorption has emerged as an efficient, cost-effective, scalable and sustainable alternative for water treatment. However, the biosorption capacity is limited by the chemical composition of the biomaterial and the Ni-enriched biomaterials are rarely valorised. In this work, the biosorption capacity of three abundant biomaterials with different chemical properties - water hyacinth, coffee grounds and pinecones - was studied before and after functionalization, and reached a maximum biosorption capacity of 51 mg g-1 of Ni(ii). A bioinspired functionalization approach was investigated introducing carboxylate moieties and was conducted in green conditions. The Ni-enriched biomaterials were valorised by transformation into catalysts, which were characterised by MP-AES and XRPD. Their characterisation revealed a structure similar to nickel formate, and hence the Eco-Ni(HCOO)2 catalysts were tested in Suzuki-Miyaura reactions. Several aryl iodides were successfully cross-coupled to phenylboronic acids using Eco-Ni(HCOO)2 without any ligand, a mild and green base in a mixture of green solvents.

Abstract
In this work we present the solution‐synthesis of pyridine analogues to hexa‐peri‐hexabenzocoronene (HBC)—which might be called superpyridines—via a novel precursor design. The key step in our strategy was the pre‐formation of the C−C bonds between the 3/3’ positions of the pyridine and the adjacent phenyl rings—bonds that are otherwise unreactive and difficult to close under Scholl‐conditions. Apart from the synthesis of the parent compound we show that classical pyridine chemistry, namely oxidation, N‐alkylation and metal‐coordination is applicable to the π‐extended analogue. Furthermore, we present basic physical chemical characterizations of the newly synthesized molecules. With this novel synthetic strategy, we hope to unlock the pyridine chemistry of nanographenes.

Abstract
Nickel catalysts represent a low cost and environmentally friendly alternative to palladium-based catalytic systems for Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling (SMC) reactions. However, nickel catalysts have suffered from poor air, moisture, and thermal stabilities, especially at high catalyst loading, requiring controlled reaction conditions. In this report, we examine a family of mono- and dinuclear Ni(II) and Pd(II) complexes with a diverse and versatile α-diimine ligand environment for SMC reactions. To evaluate the ligand steric effects, including the bite angle in the reaction outcomes, the structural variation of the complexes was achieved by incorporating iminopyridine- and acenaphthene-based ligands. Moreover, the impact of substrate bulkiness was investigated by reacting various aryl bromides with phenylboronic acid, 2-naphthylboronic acid, and 9-phenanthracenylboronic acid. Yields were the best with the dinuclear complex, being nearly quantitative (93-99%), followed by the mononuclear complexes, giving yields of 78-98%. Consequently, α-diimine-based ligands have the potential to deliver Ni-based systems as sustainable catalysts in SMC.
