Abstract
The computational simulations for electronic properties of cadmium (Cd) coordinated L-alanine NDI ligand (H2-l-ala NDI) based complex are the focus of this research. For the first time, the Cd-NDI complex (monomer) has been produced using water as the solvent; this is a new approach to synthesizing the Cd-NDI complex that has not been reported yet. Along with crystallography and Hirsch field analysis, CAM-B3LYP/LANL2DZ and B3LYP/LANL2MB basis sets were used, and in-depth characterisation of the Cd-NDI complex by following DFT and TD-DFT hypothetical simulations. Hyperpolarizabilities, frontier molecular orbitals (FMOs), the density of states (DOS), dipole moment (µ), electron density distribution map (EDDM), transition density matrix (TDM), molecular electrostatic potential (MEP), electron-hole analysis (EHA), and electrical conductivity (σ) have all been studied regarding the Cd-NDI complex. The vibrational frequencies and types of interaction are studied using infrared (IR) and non-covalent interaction (NCI) analysis with iso-surface. In comparison to the Cd-NDI complex with 2.61, 2.42 eV Eg (using CAM-B3LYP/LANL2DZ and B3LYP/LANL2MB basis sets, respectively) and 376 nm λmax, (in case of B3LYP/LANL2MB λmax is higher), H2-l-ala NDI have 3.387 eV Eg and 375 nm λmax, metal-ligand coordination in complex dramatically altered charge transfer properties, such as narrowing band gap (Eg). Based on the electronic properties analysis of Cd-NDI complex, it is predicted that the Cd-NDI complex will have a spectacular (nonlinear optical) NLO response. The Cd-NDI complex is discovered to be advantageous for the creation of future nanoscale devices due to the harmony between the Cd metal and H2-l-ala NDI, in addition to their influences on NLO characteristics.

Abstract
Nanostructures─coupled with mass spectrometry─have been intensively investigated to improve the detection sensitivity and reproducibility of small biomolecules in laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry (LDI-MS). However, the impact of laser-induced shock wave on the ionization of the nanostructures has rarely been reported. Herein, we systematically elucidate the laser shock wave effect on the ionization in terms of the in situ development of atomic defects and piezoelectricity in two-dimensional graphitic carbon nitride nanosheets (g-C3N4 NS) by short laser pulses. The mass analysis results of immunosuppressive drugs verify the enhanced LDI-MS performance, structurally originating from anisotropic lattice distortions in g-C3N4 NS, i.e., in-plane extension (contraction) and out-of-plane contraction (extension) that modulate the charge carrier motion. Along with the experimental investigations, density functional theory calculations on Mulliken charges and dipole moments demonstrate the contribution of defect and piezoelectricity to the ionization. The results of this study provide a mechanistic understanding of the underlying ionization processes, which is crucial for revealing the full potential of laser shock waves in LDI-MS.

Abstract
In this work, pure and supersalt-doped graphene is evaluated by the density functional theory (DFT) to explore its optical and electronic properties. The doping of supersalt Al(BH4)3 on graphene reduces the highest occupied molecular orbital and lower unoccupied molecular orbital (HOMO-LUMO) bandgap of graphene@Al(BH4)3 and graphene@2Al(BH4)3 to 3.57 and 3.55 eV from 3.61 eV. The improvement in the optoelectronic properties of the supersalt Al(BH4)3-doped graphene is determined by the upshift of UV absorption peak and dipole moment. Polarizability (α) values of graphene@Al(BH4)3, and graphene@2Al(BH4)3 increase to 14% and 26% in the comparison of pure graphene. The first hyperpolarizability (βo) is increased from 0.44 (graphene) to 1295.4 au in graphene@2Al(BH4)3. Our findings suggest that Al(BH4)3-doped graphene could be an effective method for making graphene an efficient nonlinear optical material.

Abstract
A systematic density functional theory study, including 17 exchange-correlation functionals, was performed on 22 composite structures consisting of organic molecules, e.g., ethylene, ethane, and benzene, and superhalogen substitutions arising from [MgX3]- and [Mg2X5]- (X = F, Cl). Range-separated hybrid functionals ωB97M-V, ωB97X-D3(BJ), ωB97XD, ωB97X, and CAM-B3LYP, as well as double-hybrid functionals B2PLYP and DSD-PBEP86-D3(BJ), are verified to provide reliable results with accuracy approaching that at the coupled-cluster single double triple [CCSD(T)] level. The basis set effect of density functional theory calculation is usually moderate, and triple-ξ quality, e.g., Def2-TZVP, is enough in most cases. In addition, the average values from HF and MP2 method, indicated as (MP2 + HF)/2, are also quite close to those of CCSD(T).

Abstract
This research study addresses the computational simulations of optical and nonlinear optical (NLO) characteristics of silver (Ag) cluster doped graphyne (GY) complexes. By precisely following DFT and TD-DFT hypothetical computations, in-depth characterization of GY@Agcenter, GY@Agside, GY@2Agperpendicular, GY@2Agabove, and GY@3Agcenter is accomplished using CAM-B3LYP/LANL2DZ while the CAM-B3LYP/mixed basis set is used for study of 2GY@Agcenter, 2GY@Agside, 2GY@2Agperpendicular, 2GY@2Agabove, and 2GY@3Agcenter. The effects of various graphyne surface based complexes on hyperpolarizabilities, frontier molecular orbitals (FMOs), density of states (DOS), absorption maximum (λ max), binding energy (E b), dipole moment (μ), electron density distribution map (EDDM), transition density matrix (TDM), electrostatic potential (ESP), vertical ionization energy (E VI) and electrical conductivity (σ) have been investigated. Infrared (IR), non-covalent interaction (NCI) analysis accompanied by isosurface are performed to study the vibrational frequencies and type of interaction. Doping strategies in all complexes impressively reformed charge transfer characteristics such as narrowing band gap (E g) in the range of 2.58-4.73 eV and enhanced λ max lying in the range of 368-536 nm as compared to pure GY with 5.78 eV E g and 265 nm λ max for (GY@Agcenter-GY@3Agcenter). In the case of (2GY@Agcenter-2GY@3Agcenter), when compared to 2GY with 5.58 eV E g and 275 nm absorption, maximum doping techniques have more effectively modified λ max in the region of 400-548 nm and E g, which is in the order of 2.55-4.62 eV. GY@3Agcenter and 2GY@3Agcenter reflected a noteworthy increment in linear polarizability α O (436.90 au) and (586 au) and the first hyperpolarizability β O (5048.77 au) and (17 270 au) because of their lowest excitation energy (ΔE) when studied in comparison with GY (α O = 281.54 and β O = 0.21 au) and 2GY surface (α O = 416 and β O = 0.06 au). Focusing on harmony between the tiny Ag clusters and graphyne surface as well as their influences on NLO properties, graphyne doping using its two-unit cells (2GY) is found to be expedient for the development of future nanoscale devices.

Abstract
The present investigation highlights the two-dimensional design of several interesting superalkali-doped borophene derivatives for efficient nonlinear optics (NLO). The combination effects and resulting NLO responses of borophene (B36) and superalkali units (Li3O) were evaluated by orienting superalkali clusters at various sites, such as the hub, rim, and bridge, around an B36 molecule. The charge analysis was characterized by frontier and natural bond orbital analyses, a narrowed HOMO-LUMO bandgap and greater intramolecular charge transfers. Molecular electrostatic potential surfaces demonstrated enhanced optoelectronic features of these complexes that are viable due to Li3O adsorption. Singly doped and doubly doped complexes were considered, and their NLO properties were calculated. Bandgap energy was reduced approximately threefold when doped with two Li3O. As a considerably high figure of merit, first hyperpolarizability (βo) values of up to five digits (including 10,611 au for complex A) prove that these systems can be utilized as promising candidates in various NLO applications.

Abstract
In this study, the nonlinear optical (NLO) properties of pristine phosphorene and superalkali (Li3O) doped phosphorene are estimated through the density functional theory (DFT) method to investigate the optical properties. The geometries of complexes have been optimized using the B3LYP/6-31G (d, p) level of theory. The effects of doping on phosphorene have been thoroughly explained by vertical ionization energy (VIE), interaction energies (Eint), and natural bond orbitals (NBO), Moreover, the density of states (DOS), electron density difference map (EDDM) analysis, the frontier molecular orbitals (FMO) plots are also given out to find more physical divination into the electronic communication and structure property relationship. The doping of superalkali conclusively has reduced the HOMO-LUMO energy gap of M1 3.28 eV-1.25 eV for M2 making it the n-type semiconductor. The higher values of Eint,Efm and VIE obtained for M2 has indicated that this complex has higher stability and stronger interaction between superalkalis and phosphorene. More interestingly, there has been a gradual increase in the first static hyperpolarizability (βstatic) values for M1, M2 and M3 are 115.75 au, 4118.6 au, and 659.30 au respectively. The Static second hyperpolarizability (γstatic) of the doped complexes has also been calculated from which the M2 has the highest value of 1382.5 ҳ 103 au. The TD-DFT exploration has exhibited that the doped molecules are adequately transparent in the UV region. Some selected systems are also compared with the p-NA reference molecule which is a familiar external reference molecule for NLO applications. From UV absorption analysis, it can be found that these doped complexes of phosphorene may be contemplated as a new applicant for intense ultraviolet NLO materials. Computational studies have revealed the stability of M2 and M3 making them feasible as NLO materials in optoelectronic applications.

Abstract
The concern of the present study is to investigate the nonlinear optical properties of superhalogen-doped borophene owing to its broad applications. The first principle study of the material for its nonlinear optical properties elaborated its use for electrical and optical applications. The superhalogen-based borophene in lithium ion-based batteries and medical appliances have made it one of the most potential materials for optoelectronics. First, hyperpolarizability (βo) of pure and doped B36 is computed, and the difference between their values was examined. The vertical ionization energy (VIE) was calculated for pure and doped systems. The interaction energy (Ei) for all combinations was computed. It would be expected to be one of the best materials to have high capacity and resistance. For all the calculations and to calculate the highest occupied molecular orbital and lowest unoccupied molecular orbital energy gap, the density functional theory (DFT) method was used. It is predicted that these combinations are more beneficial and can display better nonlinear optical (NLO) properties in electronic devices. Superhalogen-doped BF4 borophene-36 ground state optimized geometry, frontier molecular orbitals HOMO and LUMO, maximum absorption (λmax), density of states (DOS) analysis, and electrostatic potential diagram (MEP) are displayed here.
