Abstract
In this paper, the objective is to immobilize molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) onto the surface of magnetic carbon nanoparticles (Fe3O4@SiO2@C) to develop an effective method for the adsorption of zearalenone (ZEN). The prepared products were characterized by FT-IR, SEM, TEM, XRD, VSM, TGA, and BET. The content of zearalenone in corn samples was monitored by HPLC. The results indicate that the particle size of magnetic molecularly imprinted polymers (MMIPs) is approximately 200 nm. The adsorption mechanism of MMIPs was confirmed by static adsorption and dynamic adsorption experiments. The maximum adsorption capacity was 1.56 mg/g, and the adsorption equilibrium was reached within 50 min. The scatchard model showed that MMIPs had two binding sites, a high-affinity binding site and a low-affinity site. Kinetic second-order fitting indicates that MMIPs are mainly through chemisorption. In the actual sample application, the limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantitation (LOQ) were 0.3 mg/L and 0.9 mg/L, respectively. The recovery of corn with the standard addition of ZEN was 73.6-88.1%, and the relative standard deviation (RSD) was 2.86-5.63%. The results demonstrated that MMIPs possess the advantages of straightforward operation, high precision, and cost-effectiveness, rendering them suitable for rapid ZEN detection.

Abstract
Mycotoxins are toxic metabolites of molds which can contaminate food and beverages. Because of their acute and chronic toxicity, they can have harmful effects when ingested or inhaled, posing severe risks to human health. Contemporary analytical methods have the sensitivity required for contamination detection and quantification, but the direct application of these methods on real samples is not straightforward because of matrix complexity, and clean-up and preconcentration steps are needed, more and more requiring the application of highly selective solid-phase extraction materials. Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) are artificial receptors mimicking the natural antibodies that are increasingly being used as a solid phase in extraction methods where selectivity towards target analytes is mandatory. In this review, the state-of-the-art about molecularly imprinted polymers as solid-phase extraction materials in mycotoxin contamination analysis will be discussed, with particular attention paid to the use of mimic molecules in the synthesis of mycotoxin-imprinted materials, to the application of these materials to food real samples, and to the development of advanced extraction methods involving molecular imprinting technology.

Abstract
Lung metastatic breast cancer is a leading cause of cancer-related death in women and difficult to treat due to non-specific drug delivery. Herein a sequential targeting dual-responsive magnetic nanoparticle was fabricated, where Fe3O4 nanoparticle was used as magnetic core, then sequentially coated with tetraethyl orthosilicate, bis[3-(triethoxy-silyl)propyl] tetrasulfide, and 3-(trimethoxysilyl) propylmethacrylate to afford -C = C- on the surface for further polymerisation with acrylic acid, acryloyl-6-ethylenediamine-6-deoxy-β-cyclodextrin using N, N-bisacryloylcy- stamine as cross-linker, obtaining pH/redox dual-responsive magnetic nanoparticle (MNPs-CD) to delivery doxorubicin (DOX) for suppressing lung metastatic breast cancer. Our results suggested DOX-loaded nanoparticle could target the lung metastases site by sequential targeting, in which they first be delivered to the lung and even the metastatic nodules through size-driven, electrical interaction, and magnetic field-guided mechanisms, then be effectively internalised into the cancer cells followed by intelligently triggering DOX release. MTT analysis demonstrated DOX-loaded nanoparticle exhibited high anti-tumour activity against 4T1 and A549 cells. 4T1 tumour-bearing mice were employed to confirm the higher specific accumulation in lung and improved anti-metastatic therapy efficiency of DOX by focussing an extracorporeal magnetic field on the biological target. Our findings suggested the as-proposed dual-responsive magnetic nanoparticle offered a prerequisite to inhibit lung metastasis of breast cancer tumours.

Abstract
Molecularly imprinted solid-phase microextraction fibers with multi-site recognition were prepared for the simultaneous enrichment of three cross-class environmental endocrine disruptors (EEDs) in environmental water. The surface morphology of the multi-site recognition molecularly imprinted fibers was characterized using scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and surface area and pore size analyzer. Under optimal extraction conditions, the molecularly imprinted fibers showed higher extraction capacity to bisphenol F, diethyl phthalate, and methyl paraben than non-imprinted polymer fibers and commercial fibers. Compared with commercial solid-phase microextraction fibers, the multi-site recognition molecularly imprinted fibers showed superior extraction performance at different concentrations of analytes. The selectivity study confirmed that the multi-site recognition molecularly imprinted solid-phase microextraction fibers were highly selective not only for specific template molecules but also for bisphenols, parabens, and phthalates. Furthermore, the method achieved a limit of detection of 0.003-0.02 μg L-1 for the three cross-class EEDs in environmental water samples with recoveries ranging from 75.76% to 112.69% and relative standard deviations below 11.46%. Thus, the novel MIP fibers with multi-site recognition prepared in this work have provided a promising approach in the field of specific adsorption and a strategy for the simultaneous and sensitive monitoring of multiple cross-class trace EEDs.

Abstract
In this work, an environment-friendly core-shell material based on CDs@SiO2as the core and mesoporous ion-imprinted layer as the shell was reported. As a highly sensitive and accurate fluorescent sensor for the detection of Pb2+in environmental water, the composition combined ion imprinting technology with quantum dots to selectively quench the fluorescence of CDs by metal coordination in the presence of Pb2+, and the visual change of gradually weakening blue color could be observed by the naked eye for visual detection. The mesoporous structure significantly improved the detection recognition rate of CDs@SiO2@MIIPs.The molecularly imprinted sensor presented a favorable linear relationship over a Pb2+concentration range from 10 nmol l-1to 100 nmol l-1and a detection limit of 2.16 nmol l-1for Pb2+. The imprinting factor of the CDs@SiO2@MIIPs was 5.13. The sensor has a fast detection rate, is highly selective in the identification of Pb2+, and can be reused up to 10 times. The applicability of the method was evaluated by the determination of Pb2+in spiked environmental water samples with satisfactory results.

Factors Affecting the Analytical Performance of Magnetic Molecularly Imprinted Polymers. Polymers (Basel) 2022; 14:polym14153008. Abstract
During the last few years, separation techniques using molecular imprinting polymers (MIPs) have been developed, making certain improvements using magnetic properties. Compared to MIP, Magnetic molecularly imprinted polymers (MMIPs) have high selectivity in sample pre-treatment and allow for fast and easy isolation of the target analyte. Its magnetic properties and good extraction performance depend on the MMIP synthesis step, which consists of 4 steps, namely magnetite manufacture, magnetic coating using modified components, polymerization and template desorption. This review discusses the factors that will affect the performance of MMIP as a selective sorbent at each stage. MMIP, using Fe3O4 as a magnetite core, showed strong superparamagnetism; it was prepared using the co-precipitation method using FeCl3·6H2O and FeCl2·H2O to obtain high magnetic properties, using NH4OH solution added for higher crystallinity. In magnetite synthesis, the use of a higher temperature and reaction time will result in a larger nanoparticle size and high magnetization saturation, while a higher pH value will result in a smaller particle size. In the modification step, the use of high amounts of oleic acid results in smaller nanoparticles; furthermore, determining the correct molar ratio between FeCl3 and the shielding agent will also result in smaller particles. The next factor is that the proper ratio of functional monomer, cross-linker and solvent will improve printing efficiency. Thus, it will produce MMIP with high selectivity in sample pre-treatment.

Abstract
An effective method based on an imidazole ionic liquid functionalized ZIF-67 molecularly imprinted solid-phase extractant (ZIF-67@[Bmim][Br]@MIP) coupled with high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) for the separation/analysis of bisphenol A (BPA) was established. ZIF-67@[Bmim][Br]@MIP was characterized by FTIR, XRD, SEM, TEM and BET. Several important factors, such as pH, amount of extractant, extraction time, and types of eluents were investigated in detail. Under the optimal conditions, the linear range of the method was 0.01-20.00 μg mL-1, the detection limit was 5.0 ng mL-1, and the linear correlation was good (R2 = 0.9994). The detection of BPA in mineral water bottles, milk cartons and milk tea cups proved that the method was simple and effective, and could be used to separate and analyze BPA in real samples.

Abstract
Gallic acid is widely used in the field of food and medicine due to its diversified bioactivities. The extraction method with higher specificity and efficiency is the key to separate and purify gallic acid from complex biological matrix. Herein, using self-made core-shell magnetic molecularly imprinted polymers (MMIP) with gallic acid as template, a hollow magnetic molecularly imprinted polymer (HMMIP) with double imprinting/adsorption surfaces was prepared by etching the mesoporous silica intermediate layer of MMIP. The characterization and adsorption research showed that the HMMIP had larger specific surface area, higher magnetic response strength and a more stable structure, and the selectivity and saturated adsorption capacity (2.815 mmol/g at 318 K) of gallic acid on HMMIP were better than those of MMIP. Thus, in addition to MMIP, the improved HMMIP had excellent separation and purification ability to selectively extract gallic acid from complex matrix with higher specificity and efficiency.

Abstract
Efficient removal of low-concentration refractory pollutants is a crucial problem to ensuring water safety. The use of heterogeneous catalysis of molecular imprinting technology combined with traditional catalysts is a promising method to improve removal efficiency. Presently, the research into molecular imprinting targeting catalysts focuses mainly on material preparation and performance optimization. However, more researchers are investigating other applications of imprinting materials. This review provides recent progress in photocatalyst preparation, electrocatalyst, and Fenton-like catalysts synthesized by molecular imprinting. The principle and control points of target catalysts prepared by precipitation polymerization (PP) and surface molecular imprinting (S-MIP) are introduced. Also, the application of imprinted catalysts in targeted degradation of drugs, pesticides, environmental hormones, and other refractory pollutants is summarized. In addition, the reusability and stability of imprinted catalyst in water treatment are discussed, and the possible ecotoxicity risk is analyzed. Finally, we appraised the prospects, challenges, and opportunities of imprinted catalysts in the advanced oxidation process. This paper provides a reference for the targeted degradation of refractory pollutants and the preparation of targeted catalysts.

Abstract
Magnetic solid-phase extraction (MSPE) based on molecularly imprinted nanoparticles (MINs) has attracted wide attention in sample pretreatment because it combines the merits of high selectivity and quick extraction procedures. However, laborious, time and solvent-consuming steps were involved in the synthesis of magnetic imprinted particles in existing approaches. To circumvent this dilemma, a green and rapid "one-pot" strategy was proposed to prepare MINs. Halosulfuron-methyl (HSM) was selected as a template molecule, and Gaussian 09 simulation software was employed to screen the 2,4,6-trivinylboroxin pyridine complex (TBP) as a functional monomer. Subsequently, the fabrication was simply conducted using a hydrothermal approach by mixing self-assembly solution of TBP-HSM, Fe3+, Fe2+, dimethyl sulfoxide, and azobisisobutyronitrile in one-pot with a total reaction time of 3.0 h. Various characterized results well evidenced the successful imprint of HSM and the resultant HSM-MINs presented satisfying superparamagnetism and saturation magnetism. Under the optimized parameters, the obtained HSM-MINs displayed good recognition capability and selectivity toward HSM (recognition coefficient was 2.60), as well as a satisfactory saturation adsorption capacity (1781 μg/g). The quantification of sulfonylurea herbicides at trace levels in environmental water and soil samples was selected as a paradigm to demonstrate the practicality and reliability of HSM-MINs/MSPE. The present study provides a convenient, reliable, and green approach for fabricating a magnetic molecular-imprinting adsorbent for MSPE.

Recent advances and applications of cyclodextrins in magnetic solid phase extraction. Talanta 2021; 229:122296. Abstract
Cyclodextrins (CDs) as a family of cyclic oligosaccharides are toroidal with a hydrophobic interior and a hydrophilic exterior. They are well-known for their ability to form host-guest inclusion complexes with different compounds. They are used as chiral stationary phases in high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and gas chromatography (GC) or as chiral reagents in the background electrolyte of capillary electrophoresis (CE). In recent years, they have been used for modification of sorbents or as sorbents in solid phase extraction (SPE) procedures. Magnetic solid-phase extraction (MSPE), as a new type of SPE procedure, has received considerable attention due to its rapid phase separation process as compared to traditional extraction mode. This review covers the synthesis of CD-based magnetic sorbents (such as immobilization of CDs onto the different supports, production of nanosponges, and making hybrid substances with nanomaterials) and the use of these compounds in MSPE of different analytes from biological, environmental, and food samples. Also, prospects of CD-based sorbents for sample pre-treatment are also proposed.
