Abstract
Aniline is an organic pollutant with carcinogenicity and teratogenicity, while F- and Hg2+ are toxic ions that are easily soluble in water. When they are released to the environment, they will pose a threat to human health. Designing a material that can simultaneously detect three types of pollutants is of great significance. In this paper, a novel rare earth metal organic framework material (Eu-MOF) with three-dimensional structure based on 1-methylimidazole-4,5-dicarboxylic acid was synthesized for the first time through solvent thermal method. It has excellent luminescent performance and can be used as a multifunctional fluorescent probe to detect aniline, F-, and Hg2+ based on photoinduced electron transfer, energy competitive absorption, and ion exchange mechanisms, with detection limits of 1.79 × 10-8, 8.13 × 10-8, and 8.83 × 10-7 M, respectively. It is worth noting that Eu-MOF can detect F- and Hg2+ in real water samples, such as lake water and green tea water, with favorable recovery rates.

Abstract
A novel 3D europium-based cationic framework (Eu-CMOF) has been constructed solvothermally by employing a viologen derivative as an organic functional building unit. Notably, Eu-CMOF demonstrates its capability as a proficient aqueous-phase ion-exchange host, facilitating the remarkable rapid chromatographic column separation of new coccine and malachite green (NC3-/MG+), as well as new coccine and methylene blue (NC3-/MLB+), in mere 2 to 4 min. Adsorption thermodynamics and kinetics of anionic dyes demonstrate that Eu-CMOF exhibits a higher adsorption capacity for NC3-, as evaluated by the Langmuir model, reaching a value of 173 mg·g-1. The pseudo-second-order rate constant is determined to be 3.84 × 10-3 mg-1·g·min-1. Additionally, Eu-CMOF displays reversible photochromic and amine- and ammonia-induced vapochromic behaviors. Further mechanistic studies reveal that these chromic behaviors are primarily attributed to the generation of free viologen radical stimulated by Xe-light or electron-rich amine/ammonia. This research contributes to the development of advanced materials with applications in rapid chromatographic separation and stimuli-responsive chromic properties, showcasing the potential of Eu-CMOF as a versatile platform for practical applications.

Abstract
High-purity heavy water (D2O) is a strategic material owing to its important application in the fields of nuclear energy and scientific research. D2O always tends to get contaminated by H2O owing to its strong hygroscopicity. Herein, a bimetallic hexanuclear Ln(III) cluster-based metal-organic framework (Eu0.5Tb0.5-TZB-MOF) has been synthesized for fluorescence sensing of the D2O-H2O binary mixtures. Eu0.5Tb0.5-TZB-MOF can be used to immediately differentiate D2O or H2O via fluorescent color responses that are obvious to the naked eye and allow for quantitative ratiometric analysis using simple spectrophotometry. Fluorescence titration experiments demonstrate that both trace H2O in D2O and trace D2O in H2O can be quantitatively detected. Mechanistic studies demonstrate that the weaker vibrational quenching of the O-D oscillator compared to the O-H oscillator, in addition to the terbium-to-europium energy transfer, triggered the fluorescence signal response.

Lewis Acidic Metal-Organic Framework Assisted Ambient Liquid Extraction Mass Spectrometry Imaging for Enhancing the Coverage of Poorly Ionizable Lipids in Brain Tissue. Anal Chem 2024; 96:1073-1083. Abstract
The spatial distribution of lipidomes in tissues is of great importance in studies of living processes, diseases, and therapies. Mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) has become a critical technique for spatial lipidomics. However, MSI of low-abundance or poorly ionizable lipids is still challenging because of the ion suppression from high-abundance lipids. Here, a metal-organic framework (MOF) Zr6O4(OH)4(1,3,5-Tris(4-carboxyphenyl) benzene)2(triflate)6(Zr6OTf-BTB) was prepared and used for selective on-tissue adsorption of phospholipids to reduce ion suppression from them to poorly ionizable lipids. The results show that Zr6OTf-BTB with strong Lewis acidic sites and a large specific surface area (647.9 m2·g-1) could selectively adsorb phospholipids under 1% FA-MeOH. Adsorption efficiencies of phospholipids are 88.4-144.9 times higher than those of other neutral lipids. Moreover, the adsorption capacity and the adsorption kinetic rate constant of the new material to phospholipids are higher than those of Zr6-BTB (242.72 vs 73.96 mg·g-1, 0.0442 vs 0.0220 g·mg-1·min-1). A Zr6OTf-BTB sheet was prepared by a lamination technique for on-tissue phospholipid adsorption from brain tissue. Then, the tissue section on the Zr6OTf-BTB sheet was directly imaged via ambient liquid extraction-MSI with 1% FA-MeOH as the sampling solvent. The results showed that phospholipids could be 100% removed directly on tissue, and the detection coverage of the Zr6OTf-BTB-enhanced MSI method to ceramides (Cers) and hexosylceramides (HexCers) was increased by 5-26 times compared with direct tissue MSI (26 vs 1 and 17 vs 3). The new method provides an efficient and convenient way to eliminate the ion suppression from phospholipids in MSI, largely improving the detection coverage of low-abundance and poorly ionizable lipids.

Abstract
An interpenetrated tetraphenylethylene-based fluorescent metal-organic framework (ECUT-180) with exceptional sensitivity, excellent selectivity, and fast response (less than 30 s) toward uranium was successfully prepared. Especially, in the prescence of uranyl, ECUT-180 displays significant fluorescence turn-on under pH 2-3, while fluorescence turn-off under pH 4-8. The corresponding detection limits were determined to be 2.92 ppb at pH 2 and 0.86 ppb at pH 8, both of which are lower than the average uranium content (3.3 ppb) in seawater. Mechanism investigation reveals that the fluorescence enhancement on the strong acid condition can be assigned to uranium adsorption, while the quenching is caused by the resonance energy transfer.

Abstract
By taking advantages of confinement effect can effectively prevent dye aggregation caused luminescent quenching, Eosin Y (EY) was encapsulated into a chemorobust porous CoMOF as secondary fluorescent signal to construct the dual-emitting sensor of EY@CoMOF. And the photo-induced electron transfer from CoMOF to EY molecules induced EY@CoMOF presenting a weak blue emission at 421 nm and a strong yellow emission at 565 nm. Those dual-emission features also endow EY@CoMOF itself great potentials as a self-calibrating ratiometric sensor in visually and efficiently monitoring hippuric acid (HA) in urine, with fast response, high sensitivity and selectivity, excellent recyclable, and low LOD (0.24 μg/mL). Furthermore, based on a tandem combinational logic gate, an intelligent detection system was designed to improve the practicability and convenience of HA detection in urine. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first example of dye@MOF based sensor for HA detection. And this work provides a promising approach for developing dye@MOF based sensors to intelligent detect bioactive molecules.

Abstract
Herein an innovative electrochemical method is proposed for the determination of lead ions (Pb2+) based on a homogeneous voltammetric (HVC) sensing strategy using an aptamer gated methylthionine chloride@UiO-66-NH2 framework as a smart target-stimulated responsive material. The proposed HVC sensor exhibits excellent sensing performance: ultralow detection limit (0.166 pM) and wide linearity (5.0 pM-500.0 nM), simultaneously, it avoids electrodeposition processes and it is simple to modify the electrode compared to previous electrochemical methods for Pb2+ detection. Thus our method shows great potential in the highly efficient detection of Pb2+ and other heavy metal ions by simply altering the related specific aptamer.

Abstract
We prepared the self-healing and temperature/pH-responsive hydrogels using oxidized succinoglycan (OSG) and a poly (N-isopropyl acrylamide-co-acrylamide) [P(NIPAM-AM)] copolymer. OSG was synthesized by periodate oxidation of succinoglycan (SG) isolated directly from soil microorganisms, Sinorhizobium meliloti Rm1021. The OSG/P(NIPAM-AM) hydrogels were obtained by introducing OSG into P(NIPAM-AM) networks. The chemical structure and physical properties of these hydrogels were characterized by ATR-FTIR, XRD, TGA, and FE-SEM. The OSG/P(NIPAM-AM) hydrogels showed improved elasticity, increased thermal stability, new self-healing ability, and 4-fold enhanced tensile strength compared with the P(NIPAM-AM) hydrogels. Furthermore, the 5-FU-loaded OSG/P(NIPAM-AM) hydrogels exhibited effective temperature/pH-responsive drug release. Cytotoxicity experiments showed that the OSG/P(NIPAM-AM) hydrogels were non-toxic, suggesting that OSG/P(NIPAM-AM) hydrogels could have the potential for biomedical applications, such as stimuli-responsive drug delivery systems, wound healing, smart scaffolds, and tissue engineering.

Abstract
Construction and investigation of dual-functional metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with luminescent sensing and proton conduction provide widespread applications in clean energy and environmental monitoring fields. By selecting a phosphonic acid ligand 4-pyridyl-CH2N(CH2PO3H2)2 (H4L) and coligand 2,2'-biimidazole (H2biim), two cadmium-based MOFs [Cd1.5(HL)(H2biim)0.5] (1) and (H4biim)0.5·[Cd2(L)(H2biim)Cl] (2) with different structures and properties have been hydrothermally synthesized by controlling reaction temperature. Based on the excellent thermal and chemical stabilities, and good luminescent stabilities in water solution, 1 and 2 can serve as luminescent sensors of chloramphenicol (CAP) with different quenching constant (KSV) values and detection limits (LODs) in water, simulated environmental system, and real fish water system. Meanwhile, different sensing effects and possible sensing mechanisms are analyzed in detail. Moreover, 1 and 2 can also serve as good proton-conducting materials. The proton conductivities can reach up to 1.41 × 10-4 S cm-1 for 1 and 1.02 × 10-3 S cm-1 for 2 at 368 K and 95% relative humidity (RH). Among them, 2 shows better luminescent sensing and proton conduction performance than 1, which indicates that different crystal structures have a great impact on the properties of MOFs. Through the discussion of the relationship between structures and properties in detail, the possible reasons for the differences in properties are obtained, which can provide theoretical guidance for the rational design of this kind of dual-functional MOFs in the future.
