Abstract
A series of tri-coordinated zinc alkyl complexes with the general molecular formula [κ2NE-{NHIRP(Ph)(E)N-Dipp}ZnEt] [R = Dipp (2,6-diisopropylphenyl), E = S (3a), Se (3b) and R = tBu (tert-butyl), E = S (4a), Se (4b)] bearing imino-phosphanamidinate chalcogenide ligands were prepared in good yields from the reaction between the protic imino-phosphanamidinate chalcogenide ligand [NHIRP(Ph)(E)NH-Dipp] [R = Dipp, E = S (1a), Se (1b) and R = tBu, E = S (2a), Se (2b)] and diethylzinc at room temperature. The molecular structures of all the zinc complexes were established by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. In the solid state, all complexes exhibited a distorted trigonal planar geometry around the zinc ion. Metal-chalcogenide (Zn-S/Se) interactions were observed in the coordination sphere. These zinc alkyl complexes were employed as pre-catalysts in the hydroboration reaction of nitriles and esters to obtain the corresponding N,N-diborylamines and boronate esters, respectively, under ambient conditions. A wide substrate scope of nitriles and esters is presented.

Abstract
In the research presented herein, low-valent-tungsten-catalyzed hydroboration of esters and nitriles was investigated. Aromatic and aliphatic substrates were smoothly reduced to corresponding alcohol derivatives and N,N-diborylamines in the presence of W(CO)4(NCMe)2. Valuable derivatives were conveniently accessed by introducing a further functionalization process to crude hydroboration mixtures in one pot.

Abstract
The borane-functionalized (BR2) bis(3,5-dimethylpyrazolyl)methane (LH) ligands 1a (BR2: 9-borabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane or 9-BBN), 1b (BR2: BCy2), and 1c (BR2: B(C6F5)2) were synthesized by the allylation-hydroboration of LH. Metalation of 1a,b with ZnCl2 yielded the heteroscorpionate dichloride complexes [(1a,b)ZnCl2] 3a,b. The reaction of 1a with ZnEt2 led to the formation of the zwitterionic complex [Et(1a)ZnEt(THF)] 5. The reaction of complex 3a with two equivalents of KHBEt3 under a carbon dioxide (CO2) atmosphere gave rise to the formation of the dimeric bis(formate) complex [(1a)Zn(OCHO)2]2 8, in which its borane moieties intermolecularly stabilize the formate ligands of opposite metal centers. The allylated precursor Lallyl and its zinc dichloride, diethyl and bis(formate) complexes [(Lallyl)ZnCl2] 2, [(Lallyl)ZnEt2] 4, and [(Lallyl)Zn(OCHO)2] 7 were also isolated. The catalyst systems composed of 1 mol % of 3a or 3b and two equivalents of KHBEt3 hydroborated CO2 at 1 bar with pinacolborane (HBPin) to the methanol-level product H3COBPin (and PinBOBPin) in yields of 42 or 86%, respectively. The catalyst systems using the unfunctionalized complex [(LH)ZnCl2] 6 and KHBEt3 or KHBEt3/nOctBR2 (BR2: 9-BBN or BCy2) hydroborated CO2 to H3COBPin but in 2.5- to 6-fold lower activities than those exhibited by 3a,b/KHBEt3. The hydroboration of CO2 using 8 as a catalyst led to yields of 39-43%, comparable to those obtained with 3a/KHBEt3. The results confirmed that the catalytic intermediates benefit from the incorporated boranes' intra- or intermolecular stabilizations.

Abstract
The application of main group metal complexes in catalytic reactions is of increasing interest. Here we show that the electron-rich, acyclic metallasilylene L'(Cl)GaSiL C (L' = HC[C(Me)NDipp]2, Dipp = 2,6-iPr2C6H3; L = PhC(NtBu)2) acts as a precatalyst in the hydroboration of aldehydes with HBPin. Mechanistic studies with iso-valeraldehyde show that silylene C first reacts with the aldehyde with [2 + 1] cycloaddition in an oxidative addition to the oxasilirane 1, followed by formation of the alkoxysilylene LSiOCH[Ga(Cl)L']CH2CHMe2 (2), whose formation formally results from a reductive elimination reaction at the Si center. Alkoxysilylene 2 represents the active hydroboration catalyst and shows the highest catalytic activity with n-hexanal (reaction time: 40 min, yield: >99%, TOF = 150 h-1) at room temperature with a catalytic load of only 1 mol%. Furthermore, the hydroboration reaction catalysed by alkoxysilylene 2 is a living reaction with good chemoselectivity. Quantum chemical calculations not only provide mechanistic insights into the formation of alkoxysilylene 2 but also show that two completely different hydroboration mechanisms are possible.

Abstract
Five new alkylaluminum complexes with different pyridinyl-substituted imines or cyclohexyl-substituted imines were synthesized and characterized successfully. The aluminum complex [FlCHNCH(CH3)Py]AlMe2(Py = 2-pyridyl) (1) was obtained by reacting 9-[2-pyridyl-CH(CH3)-NCH]Fl (Fl = fluorenyl) (L1) and equimolar AlMe3. The reactions of 9-(2-pyridyl-NCH)Fl (L2) and 9-[2-N(CH3)2-cyclohexyl-NCH]Fl (L3) with equimolar AlMe3 or AlEt3 afforded other alkylaluminum complexes [FlCHNPy]AlMe2(Py = 2-pyridyl) (2), [FlCHNPy]AlEt2 (Py = 2-pyridyl) (3), [FlCHNCyN(CH3)2]AlMe2 (Cy = 2-cyclohexyl) (4) and [FlCHNCyN(CH3)2]AlEt2 (Cy = 2-cyclohexyl) (5). All these complexes (1-5) were characterized using NMR spectroscopy, elemental analysis, and X-ray crystal structure analysis. The catalytic properties of these new alkylaluminum complexes for the hydrophosphonylation of aldimines were examined. Complex 5 showed the best catalytic performance under mild reaction conditions with a low catalyst loading (1 mol%), and 20 different substituents of aldimines were isolated with more than 90% yields.

Abstract
The conjugated bis-guanidinate (CBG)-supported zinc hydride {LZnH}2; L = {(ArHN)(ArN)-CN-C(NAr)(NHAr); Ar = 2,6-Et2-C6H3} (I) is utilized as a catalyst for the hydroboration of esters with pinacolborane (HBpin) under mild reaction conditions. Various aryl and alkyl substrates containing electron-donating, withdrawing, and cyclic groups of esters are effectively converted into alkoxy boronate esters as products upon hydroboration. Furthermore, stoichiometric experiments have been performed to understand the plausible reaction mechanism for the hydroboration of esters. Additionally, complex (I) was used for the hydroboration of carbonate, carboxylic acid, and anhydride substrates to showcase the broad substrate scope.

Abstract
The reduction in esters, nitriles, and imines requires harsh conditions (highly reactive reagents, high temperatures, and pressures) or complex metal-ligand catalytic systems. Catalysts comprising earth-abundant and less toxic elements are desirable from the perspective of green chemistry. In this study, we developed a green hydroboration protocol for the reduction in esters, nitriles, and imines at room temperature (25 °C) using pinacolborane as the reducing agent and a commercially available Grignard reagent as the catalyst. Screening of various alkyl magnesium halides revealed MeMgCl as the optimal catalyst for the reduction. The hydroboration and subsequent hydrolysis of various esters yielded corresponding alcohols over a short reaction time (~0.5 h). The hydroboration of nitriles and imines produced various primary and secondary amines in excellent yields. Chemoselective reduction and density functional theory calculations are also performed. The proposed green hydroboration protocol eliminates the requirements for complex ligand systems and elevated temperatures, providing an effective method for the reduction in esters, nitriles, and imines at room temperature.

Abstract
The synthesis, characterization, and catalytic application of six aluminum alkyl complexes supported by various imino-phosphanamidinate chalcogenide ligands are described. Six different unsymmetrical imino-phosphanamidinate chalcogenide ligands [NHIRP(Ph)(E)NH-Dipp] [R = 2,6-diisopropylphenyl (Dipp), E = S (2a-H), Se (2b-H); R = mesityl (Mes), E = S (3a-H), Se (3b-H); R = tert-butyl (tBu), E = S (4a-H), Se (4b-H)] were prepared by the oxidation of respective imino-phosphanamide ligands (1a, 1b and 1c) with elemental chalcogen atoms (S and Se). The aluminum complexes with imino-phosphanamidinate chalcogenide ligands with the general formulae [κ2NN-{NHIRP(Ph)(E)N-Dipp}AlMe2] [R = Dipp, E = S (5a), Se (5b); R = Mes, E = S (6a), Se (6b)] or [κ2NE-{NHIRP(Ph)(E)N-Dipp}AlMe2] [R = tBu, E = S (7a), Se (7b)] were synthesized in good yields from the reaction of the suitable protic ligands (2a,b-H-4a,b-H) and trimethylaluminum in a 1 : 1 molar ratio in toluene at room temperature. All the protic ligands and aluminum complexes were well characterized by multi-nuclear NMR spectroscopy, and the solid-state structures of 2a,b-H-4a,b-H, 5a,b-6a,b and 7b are established by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The aluminum complexes 5a,b-7a,b were tested as catalysts for the hydroboration of nitriles, alkynes, and alkenes under mild conditions. The catalytic hydroboration reactions of nitriles, alkynes, and alkenes were accomplished with complex 5b at a mild temperature under solvent-free conditions to afford a high yield of the corresponding N,N-diborylamines, vinylboranes and alkyl boronate esters, respectively.

Abstract
In this work, the molecular aluminium dihydride complex bearing an N, N'-chelated conjugated bis-guanidinate (CBG) ligand is used as a catalyst for reducing a wide range of aryl and alkyl esters with good tolerance of alkene (C=C), alkyne (C≡C), halides (Cl, Br, I and F), nitrile (C≡N), and nitro (NO2 ) functionalities. Further, we investigated the catalytic application of aluminium dihydride in the C-O bond cleavage of alkyl and aryl epoxides into corresponding branched Markovnikov ring-opening products. In addition, the chemoselective intermolecular reduction of esters over other reducible functional groups, such as amides and alkenes, has been established. Intermediates are isolated and characterized by NMR and HRMS studies, which confirm the probable catalytic cycles for the hydroboration of esters and epoxides.
