Abstract
The presence of prolonged symptoms after COVID infection worsens the workability and quality of life. 200 adults with long COVID syndrome were enrolled after medical, physical, and mental screening, and were divided into two groups based on their performance. The intervention group (n = 100) received supervised rehabilitation at Department of Pulmonology, Semmelweis University with the registration number 160/2021 between 01/APR/2021-31/DEC/2022, while an age-matched control group (n = 100) received a single check-up. To evaluate the long-term effects of the rehabilitation, the intervention group was involved in a 2- and 3-month follow-up, carrying out cardiopulmonary exercise test. Our study contributes understanding long COVID rehabilitation, emphasizing the potential benefits of structured cardiopulmonary rehabilitation in enhancing patient outcomes and well-being. Significant difference was found between intervention group and control group at baseline visit in pulmonary parameters, as forced vital capacity, forced expiratory volume, forced expiratory volume, transfer factor for carbon monoxide, transfer coefficient for carbon monoxide, and oxygen saturation (all p < 0.05). Our follow-up study proved that a 2-week long, patient-centered pulmonary rehabilitation program has a positive long-term effect on people with symptomatic long COVID syndrome. Our data showed significant improvement between two and three months in maximal oxygen consumption (p < 0.05). Multidisciplinary, individualized approach may be a key element of a successful cardiopulmonary rehabilitation in long COVID conditions, which improves workload, quality of life, respiratory function, and status of patients with long COVID syndrome.

Abstract
Many COVID-19 survivors have post-COVID-19 conditions, and females are at a higher risk. We sought to determine (1) how protein levels change from acute to post-COVID-19 conditions, (2) whether females have a plasma protein signature different from that of males, and (3) which biological pathways are associated with COVID-19 when compared to restrictive lung disease. We measured protein levels in 74 patients on the day of admission and at 3 and 6 months after diagnosis. We determined protein concentrations by multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) using a panel of 269 heavy-labeled peptides. The predicted forced vital capacity (FVC) and diffusing capacity of the lungs for carbon monoxide (DLCO) were measured by routine pulmonary function testing. Proteins associated with six key lipid-related pathways increased from admission to 3 and 6 months; conversely, proteins related to innate immune responses and vasoconstriction-related proteins decreased. Multiple biological functions were regulated differentially between females and males. Concentrations of eight proteins were associated with FVC, %, and they together had c-statistics of 0.751 (CI:0.732-0.779); similarly, concentrations of five proteins had c-statistics of 0.707 (CI:0.676-0.737) for DLCO, %. Lipid biology may drive evolution from acute to post-COVID-19 conditions, while activation of innate immunity and vascular regulation pathways decreased over that period. Abstract
OBJECTIVES To examine changes in functional capacity, health-related quality of life and psychological distress in patients with post-COVID-19 condition following a multidisciplinary rehabilitation programme. In addition, to explore whether additional respiratory muscle training for more impaired patients might support their recovery process. DESIGN Retrospective observational cohort study. PATIENTS A total of 779 patients with post-COVID-19 condition (47.9% female, mean age 56.6 years). METHODS Measures assessed were: 6-minute walk test (6MWT), 5-level EQ-5D (EQ-5D-5L) including EQ Visual Analogue Scale (EQ-VAS) and Patient Health Questionnaire-4 (PHQ-4). Data were provided pre- and post-rehabilitation from 2 cohorts: (i) patients participating in a regular multidisciplinary rehabilitation programme; and (ii) patients receiving additional respiratory muscle training due to an initially greater level of impairment. Dependent t-tests and general linear mixed models were used for data analysis. RESULTS A series of dependent t-tests revealed mean overall improvement for both groups in 6-minute walk test distance (6MWD), EQ-5D-5L index, EQ-VAS and PHQ-4 following the rehabilitation programme. General linear mixed models showed significant interaction effects between groups and time for the EQ-5D-5L index and 6MWD. CONCLUSION A multidisciplinary rehabilitation programme appears to have a beneficial impact on the recovery process of patients with post-COVID-19 condition.

Abstract
Patients with prior COVID-19 infection may present with lasting multisystem symptoms that require intervention and includes exercise rehabilitation. The aim of this systematic review was to investigate the quality of articles, with emphasis on exercise rehabilitation, and conduct a meta-analysis on experimental and observational rehabilitation intervention studies on cardiorespiratory fitness and pulmonary function in post-COVID-19 infection patients. This systematic review used the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses 2020 guidelines for evaluating rehabilitation interventions in clinical practice. A methodical search of cohort and experimental studies occurred from January 2019 up to March 2023. Thirty-two studies were included for complete analysis. The quality of the eligible studies for complete review was fair overall. The studies did not provide a detailed account of key descriptors of exercise such as volume, progression, motivational strategies, adherence and replication. There was a significant difference in the 6-minute walk test (Mean difference (MD) = 51.69 m; confidence intervals (CIs) = 36.99 to 66.38; p < 0.001, level of heterogeneity (I2) = 0), percent of predicted forced expiratory volume in one second (MD = 7.95%; CIs = 3.46 to 12.44; p = 0.0005, I2 = 65%) and percent of predicted forced vital capacity (MD = 3.49%; 95% CI = 1.25 to 5.73; p = 0.002; I2 = 37%) between the experiment and control groups. The current evidence suggests that rehabilitation interventions significantly improve cardiorespiratory fitness and pulmonary function in post-COVID-19 infection patients; however, there is a need for conceptualising high-quality and long-term rehabilitation interventions, especially exercise interventions.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Several days to months after diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2, 35% of patients have persistent symptoms in high incidence. This is referred to as post-COVID-19 Syndrome. There is a pressing need to find a way to help patients with the manifested symptoms. OBJECTIVE To show the different therapies that exist for post-COVID Syndrome and their efficacy. METHODOLOGY A systematic review of the scientific literature was carried out. The data search was carried out in Scopus, PubMed, Cinahl, and Web of Science. Of the 106 articles found, 12 articles were obtained after applying the following eligibility criteria. RESULTS Interventions related to respiratory musculature and moderate intensity exercise both in supervised face-to-face sessions and in supervised home sessions led patients to a significant improvement in the symptoms presented. CONCLUSION Physical therapies significantly reduce fatigue and dyspnea as well as other symptoms related to quality of life.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, which is caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), is seriously endangering human health worldwide. This study finds effective intervention modalities of physical activity on COVID-19 through a narrative review. METHODS In this study, 41 papers were selected for a narrative literature review after a comprehensive database search from 20 December 2019, to 30 August 2022. RESULTS 41 articles meet the established criteria, and in this review, we comprehensively describe recent studies on exercise and COVID-19, including the impact and recommendations of exercise on COVID-19 prevention, patients with COVID-19, and noninfected populations. CONCLUSIONS The literature suggests that physical activity (PA) contributes to the prevention and treatment of COVID-19, can promote recovery of physical function, alleviate post-acute COVID-19 syndrome, and improve patients' psychological well-being. It is recommended to develop appropriate exercise prescriptions for different populations under the guidance of a physician.
