Effects of different aperture-sized type I collagen/silk fibroin scaffolds on the proliferation and differentiation of human dental pulp cells

Collagen/Curdlan composite sponge for rapid hemostasis and skin wound healing

Collagen's unique properties promise hemostatic potential, but its sponge form's stability and mechanics need improvement. In this study, we developed a series of homeostatic sponges by co-assembling collagen and curdlan at different ratios into hydrogels, followed by freeze-drying treatment. The incorporation of curdlan into collagen sponges has been found to significantly enhance the sponge's properties, including increased porosity, elevated water uptake, improved elasticity, and enhanced resistance to degradation. In vitro cytotoxicity and hemolysis assays have demonstrated the biocompatibility and nontoxicity of composite sponges. In mouse liver perforation and incision models, the composite sponges achieved rapid coagulation within 67 s and 75 s, respectively, outperforming gauze and gelatin sponge in reducing blood loss. Furthermore, composite sponges demonstrated superior wound healing potential in mice full-thickness skin defects model, with accelerated healing rates observed at days 3, 7, and 14 compared to the control group. Overall, collagen/curdlan composite sponge show promise for hemostasis and wound healing applications.

Injectable Liposome-Loaded Hydrogel Formulations with Controlled Release of Curcumin and α-Tocopherol for Dental Tissue Engineering

An injectable hydrogel formulation is developed utilizing low- and high-molecular-weight chitosan (LCH and HCH) incorporated with curcumin and α-tocopherol-loaded liposomes (Lip/Cur+Toc). Cur and Toc releases are delayed within the hydrogels. The injectability of hydrogels is proved via rheological analyses. In vitro studies are conducted using human dental pulp stem cells (hDPSCs) and human gingival fibroblasts (hGFs) to examine the biological performance of the hydrogels toward endodontics and periodontics, respectively. The viability of hDPSCs treated with the hydrogels with Lip/Cur+Toc is the highest till day 14, compared to the neat hydrogels. During odontogenic differentiation tests, alkaline phosphatase (ALP) enzyme activity of hDPSCs is induced in the Cur-containing groups. Biomineralization is enhanced mostly with Lip/Cur+Toc incorporation. The viability of hGFs is the highest in HCH combined with Lip/Cur+Toc while wound healing occurs almost 100% in both (Lip/Cur+Toc@LCH and Lip/Cur+Toc@HCH) after 2 days. Antioxidant activity of Lip/Cur+Toc@LCH on hGFs is significantly the highest among the groups. Antimicrobial tests demonstrate that Lip/Cur+Toc@LCH is more effective against Escherichia coli whereas so is Lip/Cur+Toc@HCH against Staphylococcus aureus. The antimicrobial mechanism of the hydrogels is investigated for the first time through various computational models. LCH and HCH loaded with Lip/Cur+Toc are promising candidates with multi-functional features for endodontics and periodontics.

Cross-Linking Methods of the Silk Protein Hydrogel in Oral and Craniomaxillofacial Tissue Regeneration

BACKGROUND

Craniomaxillofacial tissue defects are clinical defects involving craniomaxillofacial and oral soft and hard tissues. They are characterized by defect-shaped irregularities, bacterial and inflammatory environments, and the need for functional recovery. Conventional clinical treatments are currently unable to achieve regeneration of high-quality oral craniomaxillofacial tissue. As a natural biomaterial, silk fibroin (SF) has been widely studied in biomedicine and has broad prospects for use in tissue regeneration. Hydrogels made of SF showed excellent water retention, biocompatibility, safety and the ability to combine with other materials.

METHODS

To gain an in-depth understanding of the current development of SF, this article reviews the structure, preparation and application prospects in oral and craniomaxillofacial tissue regenerative medicine. It first briefly introduces the structure of SF and then summarizes the principles, advantages and disadvantages of the different cross-linking methods (physical cross-linking, chemical cross-linking and double network structure) of SF. Finally, the existing research on the use of SF in tissue engineering and the prospects of using SF with different cross-linking methods in oral and craniomaxillofacial tissue regeneration are also discussed.

CONCLUSIONS

This review is intended to show the advantages of SF hydrogels in tissue engineering and provides theoretical support for establishing novel and viable silk protein hydrogels for regeneration.

Doping of casted silk fibroin membranes with extracellular vesicles for regenerative therapy: a proof of concept

Bioactive material concepts for targeted therapy have been an important research focus in regenerative medicine for years. The aim of this study was to investigate a proof-of-concept composite structure in the form of a membrane made of natural silk fibroin (SF) and extracellular vesicles (EVs) from gingival fibroblasts. EVs have multiple abilities to act on their target cell and can thus play crucial roles in both physiology and regeneration. This study used pH neutral, degradable SF-based membranes, which have excellent cell- and tissue-specific properties, as the carrier material. The characterization of the vesicles showed a size range between 120 and 180 nm and a high expression of the usual EV markers (e.g. CD9, CD63 and CD81), measured by nanoparticle tracking analysis (NTA) and single-EV flow analysis (IFCM). An initial integration of the EVs into the membrane was analyzed using scanning and transmission electron microscopy (SEM and TEM) and vesicles were successfully detected, even if they were not homogeneously distributed in the membrane. Using direct and indirect tests, the cytocompatibility of the membranes with and without EVs could be proven and showed significant differences compared to the toxic control (p < 0.05). Additionally, proliferation of L929 cells was increased on membranes functionalized with EVs (p > 0.05).

Incorporation of kartogenin and silk fibroin scaffolds promotes rat articular cartilage regeneration through enhancement of antioxidant functions

Treating articular cartilage defects in patients remains a challenging task due to the absence of blood vessels within the cartilage tissue. The regenerative potential is further compromised by an imbalance between anabolism and catabolism, induced by elevated levels of reactive oxygen species. However, the advent of tissue engineering introduces a promising strategy for cartilage regeneration, offering viable solutions such as mechanical support and controlled release of chondrogenic molecules or cytokines. In this study, we developed an antioxidant scaffold by incorporating natural silk fibroin (SF) and kartogenin (KGN)-loaded liposomes (SF-Lipo@KGN). The scaffold demonstrated appropriate pore size, connectivity, and water absorption and the sustained release of KGN was achieved through the encapsulation of liposomes. In vitro experiments revealed that the SF-Lipo@KGN scaffolds exhibited excellent biocompatibility, as evidenced by enhanced cell adhesion, migration, and proliferation of chondrocytes. The SF-Lipo@KGN scaffolds were found to stimulate cartilage matrix synthesis through the activation of the nuclear factor erythroid-2-related factor 2/heme oxygenase-1 antioxidant signaling pathway. In vivo experiments demonstrated the effective promotion of articular cartilage regeneration by the SF-Lipo@KGN scaffolds, which enhanced extracellular matrix anabolism and restored the intrinsic redox homeostasis. Overall, this study successfully developed biomimetic KGN-loaded scaffolds that restore cartilage redox homeostasis, indicating promising prospects for cartilage tissue engineering.

A Fluorinated Supramolecular Self-Assembled Peptide as Nanovaccine Adjuvant for Enhanced Cancer Vaccine Therapy

Adjuvants play an important role in enhancing vaccine-induced immune protection. Adequate cellular uptake, robust lysosomal escape, and subsequent antigen cross-presentation are critical steps for vaccine adjuvants to effectively elicit cellular immunity. Here, a fluorinated supramolecular strategy to generate a series of peptide adjuvants by using arginine (R) and fluorinated diphenylalanine peptide (DP) is adopted. It is found that the self-assembly ability and antigen-binding affinity of these adjuvants increase with the number of fluorine (F) and can be regulated by R. By comparison, 4RDP(F5) shows the strongest binding affinity with model antigen ovalbumin (OVA) and the best performance in dendritic cells maturation and antigen's lysosomal escape, which contributes to the subsequent antigen cross-presentation. As a consequence, 4RDP(F5)-OVA nanovaccine generates a strong cellular immunity in a prophylactic OVA-expressing EG7-OVA lymphoma model, leading to long-term immune memory for resisting tumor challenge. What's more, 4RDP(F5)-OVA nanovaccine in combination with anti-programmed cell death ligand-1 (anti-PD-L1) checkpoint blockade could effectively elicit anti-tumor immune responses and inhibit tumor growth in a therapeutic EG7-OVA lymphoma model. Overall, this study demonstrates the simplicity and effectiveness of fluorinated supramolecular strategies for constructing adjuvants and might provide an attractive vaccine adjuvant candidate for cancer immunotherapy.

Engineering Dental Tissues Using Biomaterials with Piezoelectric Effect: Current Progress and Future Perspectives

Dental caries and traumatic injuries to teeth may cause irreversible inflammation and eventual death of the dental pulp. Nevertheless, predictably, repair and regeneration of the dentin-pulp complex remain a formidable challenge. In recent years, smart multifunctional materials with antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and pro-regenerative properties have emerged as promising approaches to meet this critical clinical need. As a unique class of smart materials, piezoelectric materials have an unprecedented advantage over other stimuli-responsive materials due to their inherent capability to generate electric charges, which have been shown to facilitate both antimicrobial action and tissue regeneration. Nonetheless, studies on piezoelectric biomaterials in the repair and regeneration of the dentin-pulp complex remain limited. In this review, we summarize the biomedical applications of piezoelectric biomaterials in dental applications and elucidate the underlying molecular mechanisms contributing to the biological effect of piezoelectricity. Moreover, we highlight how this state-of-the-art can be further exploited in the future for dental tissue engineering.

Recent advances in regenerative biomaterials

Nowadays, biomaterials have evolved from the inert supports or functional substitutes to the bioactive materials able to trigger or promote the regenerative potential of tissues. The interdisciplinary progress has broadened the definition of 'biomaterials', and a typical new insight is the concept of tissue induction biomaterials. The term 'regenerative biomaterials' and thus the contents of this article are relevant to yet beyond tissue induction biomaterials. This review summarizes the recent progress of medical materials including metals, ceramics, hydrogels, other polymers and bio-derived materials. As the application aspects are concerned, this article introduces regenerative biomaterials for bone and cartilage regeneration, cardiovascular repair, 3D bioprinting, wound healing and medical cosmetology. Cell-biomaterial interactions are highlighted. Since the global pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019, the review particularly mentions biomaterials for public health emergency. In the last section, perspectives are suggested: (i) creation of new materials is the source of innovation; (ii) modification of existing materials is an effective strategy for performance improvement; (iii) biomaterial degradation and tissue regeneration are required to be harmonious with each other; (iv) host responses can significantly influence the clinical outcomes; (v) the long-term outcomes should be paid more attention to; (vi) the noninvasive approaches for monitoring in vivo dynamic evolution are required to be developed; (vii) public health emergencies call for more research and development of biomaterials; and (viii) clinical translation needs to be pushed forward in a full-chain way. In the future, more new insights are expected to be shed into the brilliant field-regenerative biomaterials.

Fabrication of Biologically Inspired Electrospun Collagen/Silk fibroin/bioactive glass composited nanofibrous scaffold to accelerate the treatment efficiency of bone repair

Bone disease and disorder treatment might be difficult because of its complicated nature. Millions of patients each year need bone substitutes that may help them recover quickly from a variety of illnesses. Synthetic bone replacements that mirror the structural, chemical, and biological features of bone matrix structure will be very helpful and in high demand. In this research, the inorganic bioactive glass nanoparticles matrixed with organic collagen and silk fibroin structure (COL/SF/CaO-SiO₂) were used to create multifunctional bone-like fibers in this study, which we describe here. The fiber structure is organized in a layered fashion comparable to the sequence in which apatite and neo tissue are formed. The amino groups in COL and SF combined with CaO-SiO₂ to stabilize the resulting composite nanofiber. Morphological and functional studies confirmed that crystalline CaO-SiO₂ nanoparticles with average sizes of 20 ± 5 nm are anchored on a 115 ± 10 nm COL/SF nanofiber matrix. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopic (XPS) results confirmed the presence of C, N, O, Ca, and Si in the composite fiber with an atomic percentage of 59.46, 3.30, 20.25, 3.38 and 13.61%. respectively. The biocompatibility examination with osteoblast cells (Saos-2) revealed that the CAL/SF/CaO-SiO₂ composite nanofiber had enhanced osteogenic activity. Finally, when the CAL/SF/CaO-SiO₂ composite nanofiber scaffolds were used to treat an osteoporotic bone defect in a rat model, the composite nanofiber scaffolds significantly promoted bone regeneration and vascularization. This novel fibrous scaffold class represents a potential breakthrough in the design of advanced materials for complicated bone regeneration.

Expression, characterization, and application potentiality evaluation of recombinant human-like collagen in Pichia pastoris

Collagen is a biofunctional protein that has been widely used in many fields, including but not limited to biomedical, cosmetics and skin care, food, and novel materials. Recombinant collagen has great potential as an alternative to collagen extracted from animals because it avoids the immune response, and the yield and properties are stable. However, challenges remain in the industrial application of recombinant collagen, including improving the expression yield, reducing the cost of purification for industry and expanding applications. In this study, a cloning and recombination method was used to heterologously express the recombinant human-like collagen (RHLC) in Pichia pastoris GS115 using the pPIC9k expression vector. The RHLC expression titre was 2.33 g/L via a 5-L fermenter, and the purification was completed within 48 h and was 98% pure. The characteristics of RHLC were investigated. Furthermore, potential applications for RHLC were explored, such as basal collagen sponge preparation, forming films with chitosan and production of collagen hydrolysed peptides. RHLC has various potential applications due to its triple helical structure, thermostability, good biocompatibility and film-forming ability.

3D printed scaffold for repairing bone defects in apical periodontitis

Objectives

To investigate the feasibility of the 3D printed scaffold for periapical bone defects.

Methods

In this study, antimicrobial peptide KSL-W-loaded PLGA sustainable-release microspheres (KSL-W@PLGA) were firstly prepared followed by assessing the drug release behavior and bacteriostatic ability against Enterococcus faecalis and Porphyromonas gingivalis. After that, we demonstrated that KSL-W@PLGA/collagen (COL)/silk fibroin (SF)/nano-hydroxyapatite (nHA) (COL/SF/nHA) scaffold via 3D-printing technique exhibited significantly good biocompatibility and osteoconductive property. The scaffold was characterized as to pore size, porosity, water absorption expansion rate and mechanical properties. Moreover, MC3T3-E1 cells were seeded into sterile scaffold materials and investigated by CCK-8, SEM and HE staining. In the animal experiment section, we constructed bone defect models of the mandible and evaluated its effect on bone formation. The Japanese white rabbits were killed at 1 and 2 months after surgery, the cone beam computerized tomography (CBCT) and micro-CT scanning, as well as HE and Masson staining analysis were performed on the samples of the operation area, respectively. Data analysis was done using ANOVA and LSD tests. (α = 0.05).

Results

We observed that the KSL-W@PLGA sustainable-release microspheres prepared in the experiment were uniform in morphology and could gradually release the antimicrobial peptide (KSL-W), which had a long-term antibacterial effect for at least up to 10 days. HE staining and SEM showed that the scaffold had good biocompatibility, which was conducive to the adhesion and proliferation of MC3T3-E1 cells. The porosity and water absorption of the scaffold were (81.96 ± 1.83)% and (458.29 ± 29.79)%, respectively. Histological and radiographic studies showed that the bone healing efficacy of the scaffold was satisfactory.

Conclusions

The KSL-W@PLGA/COL/SF/nHA scaffold possessed good biocompatibility and bone repairing ability, and had potential applications in repairing infected bone defects.

Clinical significance The 3D printed scaffold not only has an antibacterial effect, but can also promote bone tissue formation, which provides an alternative therapy option in apical periodontitis.

Silk Fibroin as a Bioink - A Thematic Review of Functionalization Strategies for Bioprinting Applications

Bioprinting is an emerging tissue engineering technique that has attracted the attention of researchers around the world, for its ability to create tissue constructs that recapitulate physiological function. While the technique has been receiving hype, there are still limitations to the use of bioprinting in practical applications, much of which is due to inappropriate bioink design that is unable to recapitulate complex tissue architecture. Silk fibroin (SF) is an exciting and promising bioink candidate that has been increasingly popular in bioprinting applications because of its processability, biodegradability, and biocompatibility properties. However, due to its lack of optimum gelation properties, functionalization strategies need to be employed so that SF can be effectively used in bioprinting applications. These functionalization strategies are processing methods which allow SF to be compatible with specific bioprinting techniques. Previous literature reviews of SF as a bioink mainly focus on discussing different methods to functionalize SF as a bioink, while a comprehensive review on categorizing SF functional methods according to their potential applications is missing. This paper seeks to discuss and compartmentalize the different strategies used to functionalize SF for bioprinting and categorize the strategies for each bioprinting method (namely, inkjet, extrusion, and light-based bioprinting). By compartmentalizing the various strategies for each printing method, the paper illustrates how each strategy is better suited for a target tissue application. The paper will also discuss applications of SF bioinks in regenerating various tissue types and the challenges and future trends that SF can take in its role as a bioink material.

Improvement of osteogenic properties using a 3D-printed graphene oxide/hyaluronic acid/chitosan composite scaffold

Oral and maxillofacial tumors, trauma and infections are the main causes of jaw defects, whose clinical treatment is very complicated. With the development of biological tissue engineering, many biological materials have been widely used in various fields of stomatology, and they play a very important role in the repair and replacement of maxillofacial bone defects. In this study, we intended to prepare a graphene oxide/hyaluronic acid/chitosan (GO/HA/CS) composite hydrogel with different mass ratios of GO: 0.1% (0.1% GO/HA/CS), 0.25% (0.25% GO/HA/CS), 0.5% (0.5% GO/HA/CS), and 1% (1% GO/HA/CS), prepare it into a multilayered and stable composite scaffold through 3D-printing technology, observe the surface morphology of the composite scaffold through scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and then test its physical and chemical properties, mechanical properties, water swelling rate, in vitro degradation and other material properties. Moreover, the biological performance of the GO/HA/CS composite scaffold was studied through experiments, such as cell morphology observation, cell adhesion, cell proliferation, and live-dead cell staining. The results showed that through chemical cross-linking and 3D-printing technology, a porous (pore size: 450–580 μm) and multilayered GO/HA/CS biological scaffold could be successfully constructed, and its surface was an interconnected microporous structure, and the porosity decreased (94%−40%) gradually with the increase of GO. Meanwhile, with the change in GO concentration, some mechanical properties of the scaffold could be improved, such as water swelling rate, degradation rate, and elastic modulus. In addition, the composite scaffold with the appropriate amount of GO had almost no cytotoxicity and could promote cell growth and proliferation, especially 0.25% GO/HA/CS composite scaffold. Consequently, the 0.25% GO/HA/CS composite scaffold had excellent biological material properties and good biocompatibility with osteoblasts, which may provide a new idea for the repair of jaw defects.

Photothermal effect of indocyanine green modified scaffold inhibits oral squamous cell carcinoma and promotes wound healing

As the most prevalent malignant tumor of the oral and maxillofacial regions, squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) has relatively high recurrence and low survival rates. Currently, the most common treatment strategies are surgery and chemoradiotherapy. However, incomplete removal of the tumor can allow residual tumor cells to regrow and metastasis, resulting in treatment failure. Although postoperative adjuvant radiotherapy or chemotherapy can reduce recurrence, serious adverse reactions significantly compromise patients' quality of life. Large soft tissue defects after surgery are also difficult to heal. Therefore, therapies that eliminate residual tumor cells and promote tissue regeneration post-surgery are urgently needed. Indocyanine green (ICG) can convert absorbed light into heat to ablate tumor cells. Three-dimensional (3D) scaffolds are efficient drug carriers and support cell migration and proliferation. Here, we fabricated collagen/silk fibroin encapsulated ICG (I-CS) scaffolds by combining 3D printing with freeze-drying methods. The I-CS scaffolds delayed ICG decomposition and clearance, allowing the scaffolds to be used repeatedly for photothermal therapy (PTT). With the laser positioned at 4 cm from the 1.0 I-CS scaffold and irradiation for 10 min (1.0 W/cm²), temperatures above 50 °C were achieved, which effectively killed SCC-25 cells in vitro and suppressed tumor growth in vivo. Moreover, the I-CS scaffolds supported attachment and proliferation of rat buccal mucosa fibroblasts (RBMFs) and promoted the repair of buccal mucosal wounds in rats. These results suggested that I-CS scaffolds may be useful in preventing local recurrence and support regeneration of large soft tissue defects after oral SCC surgery.

“Invisible” orthodontics by polymeric “clear” aligners molded on 3D-printed personalized dental models

The malalignment of teeth is treated classically by metal braces with alloy wires, which has an unfavorable influence on the patients appearance during the treatment. With the development of digitization, computer simulation and three-dimensional (3D) printing technology, herein, a modern treatment was tried using clear polymeric aligners, which were fabricated by molding polyurethane films via thermoforming on the 3D-printed personalized dental models. The key parameters of photocurable 3D printing of dental models and the mechanical properties of the clear aligner film material were examined. The precision of a 3D-printed dental model mainly relied on characteristics of photocurable resin, the resolution of light source and the exposure condition, which determined the eventual shape of the molded clear aligner and thus the orthodontic treatment efficacy. The biocompatibility of the polyurethane film material was confirmed through cytotoxicity and hemolysis tests in vitro. Following a series of 3D-printed personalized dental models and finite element analysis to predict and plan the fabrication and orthodontic processes, corresponding clear aligners were fabricated and applied in animal experiments, which proved the efficacy and biocompatibility in vivo. Clinical treatments of 120 orthodontic cases were finally carried out with success, which highlights the advantage of the clear aligners as an esthetic, compatible and efficient appliance.

Integrating pore architectures to evaluate vascularization efficacy in silicate-based bioceramic scaffolds

Pore architecture in bioceramic scaffolds plays an important role in facilitating vascularization efficiency during bone repair or orbital reconstruction. Many investigations have explored this relationship but lack integrating pore architectural features in a scaffold, hindering optimization of architectural parameters (geometry, size and curvature) to improve vascularization and consequently clinical outcomes. To address this challenge, we have developed an integrating design strategy to fabricate different pore architectures (cube, gyroid and hexagon) with different pore dimensions (∼350, 500 and 650 μm) in the silicate-based bioceramic scaffolds via digital light processing technique. The sintered scaffolds maintained high-fidelity pore architectures similar to the printing model. The hexagon- and gyroid-pore scaffolds exhibited the highest and lowest compressive strength (from 15 to 55 MPa), respectively, but the cube-pore scaffolds showed appreciable elastic modulus. Moreover, the gyroid-pore architecture contributed on a faster ion dissolution and mass decay in vitro. It is interesting that both μCT and histological analyses indicate vascularization efficiency was challenged even in the 650-μm pore region of hexagon-pore scaffolds within 2 weeks in rabbit models, but the gyroid-pore constructs indicated appreciable blood vessel networks even in the 350-μm pore region at 2 weeks and high-density blood vessels were uniformly invaded in the 500- and 650-μm pore at 4 weeks. Angiogenesis was facilitated in the cube-pore scaffolds in comparison with the hexagon-pore ones within 4 weeks. These studies demonstrate that the continuous pore wall curvature feature in gyroid-pore architecture is an important implication for biodegradation, vascular cell migration and vessel ingrowth in porous bioceramic scaffolds.

Large-pore-size Ti6Al4V scaffolds with different pore structures for vascularized bone regeneration

Porous Ti6Al4V scaffolds are characterized by high porosity, low elastic modulus, and good osteogenesis and vascularization, which are expected to facilitate the repair of large-scale bone defects in future clinical applications. Ti6Al4V scaffolds are divided into regular and irregular structures according to the pore structure, but the pore structure more capable of promoting bone regeneration and angiogenesis has not yet been reported. The purpose of this study was to explore the optimal pore structure and pore size of the Ti6Al4V porous scaffold for the repair of large-area bone defects and the promotion of vascularization in the early stage of osteogenesis. 7 groups of porous Ti6Al4V scaffolds, named NP, R8, R9, R10, P8, P9 and P10, were fabricated by Electron-beam-melting (EBM). Live/dead staining, immunofluorescence staining, SEM, CCK8, ALP, and PCR were used to detect the adhesion, proliferation, and differentiation of BMSCs on different groups of scaffolds. Hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining and Van Gieson (VG) staining were used to detect bone regeneration and angiogenesis in vivo. The research results showed that as the pore size of the scaffold increased, the surface area and volume of the scaffold gradually decreased, and cell proliferation ability and cell viability gradually increased. The ability of cells to vascularize on scaffolds with irregular pore sizes was stronger than that on scaffolds with regular pore sizes. Micro-CT 3D reconstruction images showed that bone regeneration was obvious and new blood vessels were thick on the P10 scaffold. HE and VG staining showed that the proportion of bone area on the scaffolds with irregular pores was higher than that on scaffolds with regular pores. P10 had better mechanical properties and were more conducive to bone tissue ingrowth and blood vessel formation, thereby facilitating the repair of large-area bone defects.
