Abstract
Background Repetitive Nonsuicidal Self-Injury (R-NSSI) is complex and prevalent in adolescents. Although the reward system is a promising mechanism to explain R-NSSI, the specific processes of reward and punishment related to R-NSSI remain unclear. This study examined whether adolescents with R-NSSI displayed difficulties in both reward and punishment contexts, and further explored the role of inhibitory control in processing monetary reward and punishment. Methods Within a cohort from two middle schools (N = 3,475, 48.6 % female, Mage = 12.95), a total of 187 adolescents completed three novel behavioral tasks. Specifically, in Study 1, 36 adolescents with R-NSSI and 28 without NSSI completed adapted incentive-delay tasks to evaluate sensitivity to reward and punishment. In Study 2, 27 adolescents with R-NSSI and 21 without NSSI were given novel incentive delay-two choice oddball task to evaluate the interaction between reward and inhibitory control. In Study 3, 38 adolescents with R-NSSI and 35 without NSSI completed similar task to assess the interaction between punishment and inhibitory control. Results Adolescents with R-NSSI were characterized by higher levels of behavioral reward and punishment sensitivity than adolescents without NSSI. More importantly, the difference between reward and punishment in inhibitory control of R-NSSI was found. Compared to adolescents without NSSI, adolescents with R-NSSI showed lower levels of inhibitory control in response to cues depicting punishment content but not to those depicting reward content. Conclusions This study provides novel experimental evidence that heightened behavioral sensitivity to both reward and punishment may be relevant trait marker in R-NSSI among adolescents, and emphasizes that punishment not reward interact with inhibitory control in the R-NSSI.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Although the development and application of mobile phones have changed various aspects of people's lives, excessive use of mobile phones has also raised physical and mental health concerns. However, the relationship between mobile phone addiction (MPA) and non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) is unclear. METHODS A cross-sectional study was conducted (2022) among students from six universities to assess the relationship between MPA and NSSI. A Mobile Phone Addiction Tendency Scale (MPATS) was used to assess MPA, while NSSI was assessed via The Ottawa Self-Injury Inventory. Binary logistic regression models were used to assess the relationship between MPA and NSSI. RESULTS A total of 18,723 college students (6531 males [34.9 %] and 12,192 females [65.1 %]) were included in the final analyses. The prevalence of NSSI during the past 12 months was 6.5 %. Furthermore, 5553 participants (29.7 %) met the MPA criteria (MPATS score ≥ 48), and the average MPATS score was 39.5 ± 13.0. MPA was associated with increased odds of NSSI after adjusting for socio-demographic characteristics, health-related characteristics, and relevant psychosocial variables (OR, 1.29; 95 % CI, 1.13-1.46). Moreover, gender did not affect the association of MPA and MPATS score with NSSI (P for interaction>0.05). The restricted cubic splines regression showed that a monotonically increasing risk of NSSI was associated with increasing MPATS score (P for non-linearity = 0.474). CONCLUSIONS MPA is associated with increased odds of NSSI among college students, indicating that early examination, prevention, and intervention for MPA may prevent and control NSSI.

Abstract
A significant number of persons engage in paradoxical behaviors, such as extreme food restriction (up to starvation) and non-suicidal self-injuries, especially during periods of rapid changes, such as adolescence. Here, we contextualize these and related paradoxical behavior within an active inference view of brain functions, which assumes that the brain forms predictive models of bodily variables, emotional experiences, and the embodied self and continuously strives to reduce the uncertainty of such models. We propose that not only in conditions of excessive or prolonged uncertainty, such as in clinical conditions, but also during pivotal periods of developmental transition, paradoxical behaviors might emerge as maladaptive strategies to reduce uncertainty-by "acting on the body"- soliciting salient perceptual and interoceptive sensations, such as pain or excessive levels of hunger. Although such strategies are maladaptive and run against our basic homeostatic imperatives, they might be functional not only to provide some short-term reward (e.g. relief from emotional distress)-as previously proposed-but also to reduce uncertainty and possibly to restore a coherent model of one's bodily experience and the self, affording greater confidence in who we are and what course of actions we should pursue.

Abstract
Background Non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) is a frequent and prominent phenomenon in major depressive disorder (MDD). Even though its prevalence and risk factors are relatively well understood, the potential mechanisms of NSSI in MDD remain elusive. Aims To review present evidence related to the potential mechanisms of NSSI in MDD. Methods According to Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses 2020 guidelines, articles for this systematic review were searched on Medline (through PubMed), Embase (through Elsevier), PsycINFO (through OVID) and Web of Science databases for English articles, as well as China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), SinoMed, Wanfang Data, and the Chongqing VIP Chinese Science and Technology Periodical (VIP) Databases for Chinese articles published from the date of inception to 2 August 2022. Two researchers (BW, HZ) independently screened studies based on inclusion and exclusion criteria and assessed their quality. Results A total of 25 157 studies were searched. Only 25 of them were ultimately included, containing 3336 subjects (1535 patients with MDD and NSSI, 1403 patients with MDD without NSSI and 398 HCs). Included studies were divided into 6 categories: psychosocial factors (11 studies), neuroimaging (8 studies), stress and hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis (2 studies), pain perception (1 study), electroencephalogram (EEG) (2 studies) and epigenetics (1 study). Conclusions This systematic review indicates that patients with MDD and NSSI might have specific psychosocial factors, aberrant brain functions and neurochemical metabolisms, HPA axis dysfunctions, abnormal pain perceptions and epigenetic alterations.

Abstract
Non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) behaviors are a major public health concern among adolescents with depression. Such behaviors may be associated with the reward system. However, the underlying mechanism in patients with depression and NSSI still remains unclear. A total of 56 drug-naïve adolescents with depression, including 23 patients with NSSI (the NSSI group) and 33 patients without NSSI (the nNSSI group), and 25 healthy controls (HCs) were recruited in this study. Seed-based functional connectivity (FC) was used to explore the NSSI-related FC alterations in the reward circuit. Correlation analysis was conducted between the altered FCs and clinical data. Compared with the nNSSI group, the NSSI group showed greater FC between left nucleus accumbens (NAcc) and right lingual gyrus and between right putamen accumbens and right angular gyrus (ANG). The NSSI group also had declined FC between right NAcc and left inferior cerebellum, between left cingulate gyrus (CG) and right ANG, between left CG and left middle temporal gyrus (MTG), and between right CG and bilateral MTG (voxel-wise p < 0.01, cluster-wise p < 0.05, Gaussian random field correction). The FC between right NAcc and left inferior cerebellum was found positively correlated with the score of addictive features of NSSI (r = 0.427, p = 0.042). Our findings indicated that the regions in the reward circuit with NSSI-related FC alterations included bilateral NAcc, right putamen and bilateral CG, which may provide new evidence on the neural mechanisms of NSSI behaviors in adolescents with depression.

Abstract
Non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) is becoming increasingly common in adolescents and seriously affects their physical and mental health, and it is also a major risk factor for suicide among adolescents. NSSI has now become a public health issue of general concern; however, the identification of cognitive dysfunction in NSSI is still based on neuropsychological cognitive assessment and subjective questionnaire assessment, with a lack of objective evaluation indicators. As a method for studying the cognitive neural mechanism of NSSI, electroencephalography is a reliable tool for finding objective biomarkers of NSSI. This article reviews the recent research on electrophysiology associated with cognitive dysfunction in adolescents with NSSI.

Abstract
Nonsuicidal self-injury (NSSI) is a serious risk behavior in adolescents and is a high risk factor for suicide, while negative emotions can lead to increased NSSI behaviors. In this study, we investigated the altered behavioral performance and neural reactivity of adolescents with NSSI by using a two-choice oddball paradigm when exposed to negative emotional stimuli, and analyzed the brain lateralization effect. Our data indicated that adolescents with NSSI exhibit more pronounced N250, P300, and LPP components during negative emotional face stimulation, as evidenced by a smaller N250 wave amplitude, larger P300 wave amplitude, steeper LPP waveform, and faster fallback baseline; and the presence of brain lateralization responses in both the N250 component and the LPP component. These results suggested that adolescents with NSSI showed significant alterations in cognitive EEG components associated with emotional processing during negative emotional face stimulation, particularly in EEG components representing inhibitory control, and there was a lateralization effect on emotional processing in the brain, with different processing stages and different dominance of the left and right brain.

Abstract
Background Nonsuicidal self-injury (NSSI) is a common mental health threat in adolescents, peaking in adolescence with a lifetime prevalence of ~17%-60%, making it a high-risk risk factor for suicide. In this study, we compared changes in microstate parameters in depressed adolescents with NSSI, depressed adolescents, and healthy adolescents during exposure to negative emotional stimuli, and further explored the improvement of clinical symptoms and the effect of microstate parameters of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) in depressed adolescents with NSSI, and more evidence was provided for potential mechanisms and treatment optimization for the occurrence of NSSI behaviors in adolescents. Methods Sixty-six patients with major depressive disorder (MDD) exhibiting NSSI behavior (MDD + NSSI group), 52 patients with MDD (MDD group), and 20 healthy subjects (HC group) were recruited to perform neutral and negative emotional stimulation task. The age range of all subjects was 12-17 years. All participants completed the Hamilton Depression Scale, the Patient Health Questionnaire-9, the Ottawa Self-Injury Scale and a self-administered questionnaire to collect demographic information. We provided two different treatments to 66 MDD adolescents with NSSI; 31 patients received medication and completed post-treatment scale assessments and EEG acquisitions, and 21 patients received medication combined with rTMS and completed post-treatment scale assessments and EEG acquisitions. Multichannel EEG was recorded continuously from 64 scalp electrodes using the Curry 8 system. EEG signal preprocessing and analysis was performed offline, using the EEGLAB toolbox in MATLAB. Use the Microstate Analysis Toolbox in EEGLAB for segmentation and computation of microstates, and calculate a topographic map of the microstate segmentation of the EEG signal for a single subject in each dataset, and four parameters were obtained for each microstate classification: global explained variance (GEV), mean duration (Duration), average number of occurrences per second (Occurrence), and average percentage of total analysis time occupied (Coverage), which were then statistically analyzed. Results Our results indicate that MDD adolescents with NSSI exhibit abnormalities in MS 3, MS 4, and MS 6 parameters when exposed to negative emotional stimuli compared to MDD adolescents and healthy adolescents. The results also showed that medication combined with rTMS treatment improved depressive symptoms and NSSI performance more significantly in MDD adolescents with NSSI compared to medication treatment, and affected MS 1, MS 2, and MS 4 parameters in MDD adolescents with NSSI, providing microstate evidence for the moderating effect of rTMS. Conclusion MDD adolescents with NSSI showed abnormal changes in several microstate parameters when receiving negative emotional stimuli, and compared to those not receiving rTMS treatment, MDD adolescents with NSSI treated with rTMS showed more significant improvements in depressive symptoms and NSSI performance, as well as improvements in EEG microstate abnormalities.

Abstract
Self-injurious thoughts and behaviors (SITBs), which include suicidal ideation (SI), suicide attempts (SA), and nonsuicidal self-injury (NSSI), are prevalent and associated with impairments in functioning and elevated risk of suicide deaths. Preventing suicide is a complex problem, with numerous systems likely contributing to the onset and maintenance of SITBs, and there is a critical need to identify more precise predictors of risk. Positive valence systems (PVS) are an understudied domain with promise for improving understanding of risk processes underlying SITBs. In this systematic review, we evaluate the evidence for the potential role of altered PVS function in SI, SA, and/or NSSI, including alterations in reward responsiveness, learning, and valuation assessed through behavioral, physiological and circuit measures. Results provide preliminary support for associations between distinct aspects of PVS function and alterations in SITBs. Specifically, SI appears to be characterized by low reward responsiveness, whereas little research has examined reward responsiveness in SA, and NSSI has been characterized by hyper-responsiveness to rewards. Alterations in reward learning and valuation are commonly examined in SA, with some evidence that they may be more strongly associated with attempts than SI or NSSI. At the same time, the literature is limited in that some constructs are commonly examined in one form of SITBs but not others. Further, research is predominantly cross-sectional and focused on adults, raising questions about the role of PVS function in developmental pathways to SITBs. We conclude by integrating the research to date and highlighting promising directions for future research.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Self-harm in children and adolescents is difficult to treat. Peripheral and neural correlates of self-harm could lead to biomarkers to guide precision care. We therefore conducted a scoping review of research on peripheral and neural correlates of self-harm in this age group. METHODS PubMed and Embase databases were searched from January 1980-May 2020, seeking English language peer-reviewed studies about peripheral and neural correlates of self-harm, defined as completed suicide, suicide attempts, suicidal ideation, or non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) in subjects, birth to 19 years of age. Studies were excluded if only investigating self-harm in persons with intellectual or developmental disability syndromes. A blinded multi-stage assessment process by pairs of co-authors selected final studies for review. Risk of bias estimates were done on final studies. RESULTS We screened 5537 unduplicated abstracts, leading to the identification of 79 eligible studies in 76 papers. Of these, 48 investigated peripheral correlates and 31 examined neural correlates. Suicidality was the focus in 2/3 of the studies, with NSSI and any type of self-harm (subjects recruited with suicidality, NSSI, or both) investigated in the remaining studies. All studies used observational designs (primarily case-control), most used convenience samples of adolescent patients which were predominately female and half of which were recruited based on a disorder. Over a quarter of the specific correlates were investigated with only one study. Inter-study agreement on findings from specific correlates with more than one study was often low. Estimates of Good for risk of bias were assigned to 37% of the studies and the majority were rated as Fair. CONCLUSIONS Research on peripheral and neural correlates of self-harm is not sufficiently mature to identify potential biomarkers. Conflicting findings were reported for many of the correlates studied. Methodological problems may have produced biased findings and results are mainly generalizable to patients and girls. We provide recommendations to improve future peripheral and neural correlate research in children and adolescents, ages 3-19 years, with self-harm.

Abstract
BACKGROUND H protons magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1H-MRS) has been used to detect the biochemical metabolism changes and the mechanism of executive dysfunction in major depressive disorder (MDD). While, finding information associated with non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) among adolescents with MDD is challenging. The present study aimed to examine the executive function and biochemical metabolism alterations, as well as to elucidate their associations in depressed adolescents with NSSI. METHODS A total of 86 adolescents with MDD (40 with NSSI, and 46 without NSSI) and 28 healthy controls were recruited in the current study. The executive function was assessed by Digital symbol test (DST), Wisconsin Card Sorting Test (WCST), Trail Making Test, part B (TMT-B), and Verbal fluency (VF). Bilateral metabolite levels of the prefrontal cortex (PFC), anterior cingulated cortex (ACC), lenticular nucleus (LN) of basal ganglia and thalamus were obtained by 1H-MRS at 3.0 T, and then the ratios of N-acetyl aspartate (NAA) and choline-containing compounds (Cho) to creatine (Cr) were determined, respectively. Finally, association analysis was conducted to investigate their relationships. RESULTS The depressed adolescents with NSSI showed significantly lower VF scores than those without NSSI and healthy controls. We also found significantly higher NAA/Cr ratios in the right thalamus, while significantly lower Cho/Cr ratios in the right thalamus of NSSI group than the MDD without NSSI group and healthy controls. And NSSI group also showed lower NAA/Cr ratio in the right LN than the MDD without NSSI group. For MDD with NSSI, the NAA/Cr ratios of the left thalamus were positively correlated with the time of TMTB and the Cho/Cr ratios of the left ACC were positively correlated with the VF scores. CONCLUSIONS Depressed adolescents with NSSI may have executive dysfunction and NAA and Cho metabolism abnormalities in the thalamus. And the NAA/Cr ratios of the right LN could distinguish NSSI from depressed adolescents. Further, the executive dysfunction may be associated with the abnormal NAA metabolism in the left thalamus and ACC.

Abstract
Suicide is the second leading cause of death for adolescents in the United States, yet remarkably little is known regarding risk factors for suicidal thoughts and behaviors (STBs), relatively few federal grants and scientific publications focus on STBs, and few evidence-based approaches to prevent or treat STBs are available. This "decade in review" article discusses five domains of recent empirical findings that span biological, environmental, and contextual systems and can guide future research in this high priority area: (1) the role of the central nervous system; (2) physiological risk factors, including the peripheral nervous system; (3) proximal acute stress responses; (4) novel behavioral and psychological risk factors; and (5) broader societal factors impacting diverse populations and several additional nascent areas worthy of further investigation.

Abstract
Parental criticism is linked to a number of detrimental child outcomes. One mechanism by which parental criticism may increase risk for negative outcomes in children is through children's neural responses to valenced information in the environment. The goal of the current study, therefore, was to examine the relation between maternal criticism and children's neural responses to monetary gains and losses. To represent daily environmental experiences of reward and punishment, we focused on reactivity to monetary gains versus losses in a guessing task. Participants were 202 children and their mothers recruited from the community. The average age of the children was 9.71 years (SD = 1.38, range = 7-11), with 52.0% of them male and 72.8% Caucasian. Mothers completed the Five Minute Speech Sample to assess expressed emotion-criticism, and of these dyads 51 mothers were rated as highly critical. In addition, children completed a simple guessing game during which electroencephalography was recorded. Children of critical mothers displayed less neural reactivity to both monetary gain and loss than children without critical mothers. Our results were at least partially independent of children's and mothers' current levels of internalizing psychopathology. These findings suggest that children exposed to maternal criticism may exhibit disruptions in adaptive responses to environmental experiences regardless of valence. Targeted interventions aimed at reducing expressed emotion-criticism may lead to changes in a child's reward responsiveness and risk for psychopathology.

Abstract
Although prior work has shown heightened response to negative outcomes and reduced response to positive outcomes in youth with a history of non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI), little is known about the neural processes underlying these responses. Thus, this study examined associations between NSSI engagement and functional activation in specific regions of interest (ROIs) and whole-brain connectivity between striatal, frontal, and limbic region seeds during monetary and social reward tasks. To test for specificity of the influence of NSSI, analyses were conducted with and without depressive symptoms as a covariate. We found that NSSI was associated with decreased activation following monetary gains in all ROIs, even after controlling for depressive symptoms. Exploratory connectivity analyses found that NSSI was associated with differential connectivity between regions including the DS, vmPFC, insula, and parietal operculum cortex when controlling for depressive symptoms. Disrupted connectivity between these regions could suggest altered inhibitory control of emotions and pain processing in individuals with NSSI. Findings suggest dysfunctional reward processes in youth with NSSI, even very early in the course of the behavior.

Abstract
The lifetime prevalence of major depressive disorder (MDD) in adolescents is reported to be as high as 20%; thus, MDD constitutes a significant social and public health burden. MDD is often associated with nonsuicidal self-injury (NSSI) behavior, but the contributing factors including cognitive function have not been investigated in detail. To this end, the present study evaluated cognitive impairment and psychosocial factors in associated with MDD with NSSI behavior. Eighteen and 21 drug-naïve patients with first-episode MDD with or without NSSI (NSSI+/- group) and 24 healthy control subjects (HC) were enrolled in the study. The Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA), Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD), Adolescent Self-injury Questionnaire, Beck Scale for Suicide Ideation-Chinese Version (BSI-CV), Shame Scale for Middle School Students, Sensation Seeking Scale (SSS) and Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQ) were used to assess depression-related behaviors, and event-related potentials (ERPs) were recorded as a measure of cognitive function. The latency of the N1, N2, P3a, P3b, and P50 components of ERPs at the Cz electrode point; P50 amplitude and P50 inhibition (S1/S2) showed significant differences between the 3 groups. CTQ scores also differed across three groups, and the NSSI- and NSSI+ groups showed significant differences in scores on the Shame Scale for Middle School Students. Thus, cognitive function was impaired in adolescents with MDD with NSSI behavior, which was mainly manifested as memory decline, attention and executive function deficits, and low anti-interference ability. We also found that childhood abuse, lack of social support, and a sense of shame contributed to NSSI behavior. These findings provide insight into the risk factors for MDD with NSSI behavior, which can help mental health workers more effectively diagnose and treat these patients.

OBJECTIVE Findings from prior research on reward sensitivity in nonsuicidal self-injury (NSSI) have been mixed. Childhood maltreatment is an independent risk factor for NSSI and for hyposensitivity to rewards. This study aimed to disentangle the role of reward sensitivity as a predictor of NSSI for those with an elevated severity of childhood maltreatment. METHOD In a diverse undergraduate sample (N = 586), trait reward sensitivity (i.e., behavioral approach system subscales) and the severity of maltreatment were assessed as predictors of a lifetime history of NSSI. In a subset of this sample (n = 51), predictors of NSSI urge intensity were measured using ecological momentary assessment. RESULTS Individuals with elevated maltreatment who reported less positive responsiveness to rewards were more likely to have a lifetime history of NSSI. Those with elevated maltreatment who reported a lower likelihood to approach rewards experienced more intense NSSI urges across the ten-day observation period. However, those with elevated maltreatment who reported a greater likelihood to approach rewards experienced less intense NSSI urges. CONCLUSIONS The role of reward sensitivity as a cognitive risk factor for NSSI varies depending on childhood maltreatment history. Findings indicate that, for those with elevated maltreatment, hypersensitivity to approaching rewards may decrease risk for NSSI urges.

Abstract
The Reward Positivity (∆RewP) event-related potential (ERP), generally quantified as the difference between neural responsiveness to monetary gains (RewP-Gain) and losses (RewP-Loss) is commonly used as an index of neural reward responsiveness. Despite the popularity of this ERP component in studies of reward processing, knowledge about the role of state-related influences on the ∆RewP is limited. The present study examined whether ∆RewP amplitudes may differ based on when during the day they are assessed and whether age or sex would moderate this link. Participants were 188 children between the ages of 7 and 11 (47.3% female) without a lifetime history of a major depressive disorder or any anxiety disorder recruited from the community. Children completed the Doors task during which continuous electroencephalography was recorded to isolate the ∆RewP. To better isolate this ERP component from other temporally or spatially overlapping ERPs, we used temporospatial principal component analysis. We found that time of day (ToD) differences in the ∆RewP amplitude varied based on children's age. Specifically, older, compared to younger, children exhibited stronger responses to gains versus losses between 11:15 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. and after around 5:15 p.m. Further, these age-related differences appeared to be driven specifically by older children's reduced neural responsiveness to losses. The findings have methodological implications by highlighting the importance of accounting for the ToD at which ∆RewP-focused study sessions are conducted as well as for demographic characteristics of the participants, such as their age.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The present study aimed to objectively examine the Research Domain Criteria (RDoC) subconstructs of reward anticipation and initial response to reward in adult suicide attempters, compared with nonattempters, using electroencephalography (EEG) and event-related potentials (ERPs) within the context of the RDoC-recommended experimental paradigms for these subconstructs. METHODS Participants had either a history of at least 1 suicide attempt (n = 30) or no history of attempting suicide (n = 30). They completed diagnostic interviews, self-report questionnaires, and 2 computer-based tasks-the monetary incentive delay task and the doors task-during which continuous EEG was recorded. Temporospatial principal component analysis was used to isolate each of the ERP components of interest from other temporally or spatially overlapping components. Exploratory time-frequency analyses were also conducted to supplement the ERP analyses. RESULTS Suicide attempters, compared with nonattempters, exhibited specific deficits in reward anticipation (i.e., blunted cue-P3 ERP during the monetary incentive delay task) and in initial response to reward (i.e., reduced feedback-related delta power in the gain condition of the doors task). These results were at least partially independent of current symptoms or diagnoses of depression and anxiety. CONCLUSIONS These findings constitute an important step in obtaining a more fine-grained understanding of the specific reward-related abnormalities that might contribute to suicide risk.

Abstract
Individuals with suicidal thoughts and behaviors experience abnormalities in reward-related processes, yet little is known about specific components or stages of reward processing that are impaired, especially in children. The primary aim of this study was to conduct an investigation of the Initial Response to Reward subconstruct of the National Institute of Mental Health's Research Domain Criteria in relation to recent suicidal ideation (SI) in children. Participants were 23 children between the ages of 7 and 11 with a history of recent SI and 46 demographically and clinically matched children with no recent SI. Children completed a simple guessing task during which continuous electroencephalography was recorded to isolate the Reward Positivity (ΔRewP) event-related potential, which reflects the difference in neural responses to monetary gains (RewP-gain) versus losses (RewP-loss). Children with recent SI exhibited significantly smaller (i.e., blunted) ΔRewP, providing initial evidence for blunted initial responses to reward in these children.
