Abstract
INTRODUCTION Management strategies and hemostatic treatments to achieve control of bleeding are relevant across many disease areas. Identification of primary outcomes for studies assessing hemostatic intervention was the objective of a National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI) sponsored multidisciplinary initiative. The aim of this report is to summarize the evidence reviewed, and the outcomes identified by the subgroup tasked to assess outcomes for inherited bleeding disorders. METHODS The subgroup decided to focus on haemophilia, the prototypal congenital bleeding disorder and the one with the largest available body of evidence. MEDLINE, EMBASE and PsycINFO, The Cochrane Review, CINAHL, and Web of Science were searched for systematic and narrative reviews on outcomes used in haemophilia clinical trials. Three different clinical goals were identified as typical objectives of future research. RESULTS Out of 1322 unique citations, 24 reviews published in the period 2002-2019 were included. We identified 113 outcome measures, categorized in 6 domains: health-related quality of life (HRQoL), comorbidities and mortality, overall physical functioning and participation, bleeding and hemostasis, joint health, and costs and resource use. Three different clinical goals were identified as typical objectives of future research: Episodic 'on demand' replacement therapy, prevention of bleeding (Prophylaxis), and long-term and overall impact of bleeding. For each of these scenarios, specific outcomes were recommended. CONCLUSIONS Primary outcomes for clinical trials assessing the efficacy of hemostatic treatment in achieving control, prevention and limiting long-term consequences of bleeding in inherited bleeding disorders are suggested, and their strength and limitations discussed.

Abstract
Against a background of a rapidly evolving treatment landscape, a contemporary, evidence-based consolidated understanding of mortality in people with congenital hemophilia A (PwcHA) is lacking. This systematic literature review examines the available data on mortality and causes of death in PwcHA to enable a better understanding of fatalities in PwcHA and evaluate the impact of new treatment paradigms on mortality. A systematic literature review of observational studies was conducted by searching Medline, Embase, and clinical trials registries for articles published from January 2010 to March 2020, using the search terms: hemophilia A (HA), mortality, cause of death. Interventional studies, studies not reporting fatalities, and those reporting only on hemophilia B, acquired HA, or mixed other coagulopathies were excluded. Overall, 7818 unique records were identified and 17 were analyzed. Of these, six reported mortality rates and five reported mortality ratios. Mortality generally decreased over time, despite a spike associated with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)/hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection in the 1980s and 1990s. Mortality was strongly correlated with age and hemophilia severity. People with hemophilia had a raised mortality risk compared with the general population, particularly in severe hemophilia, and when infected with HIV or HCV. Causes of death varied across populations, countries, and time in 15 identified studies; however, incomplete and heterogeneous reporting limits evidence. Hemorrhage, HIV, HCV, and hepatic disease were the leading causes of death. A unified approach to reporting mortality and cause of death is needed to understand mortality in PwcHA as treatments continue to advance.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Patient satisfaction with health care is a key quality metric, associated with adherence and better outcomes. However, satisfaction with US Hemophilia Treatment Centers (HTC) is unknown. AIM To assess patient satisfaction with US Hemophilia Treatment Centers. METHODS A nationally uniform survey was conducted using the US HTC Network's regional infrastructure. Satisfaction with multidisciplinary team members, services and care processes was assessed. The anonymous survey, in English and Spanish, was disseminated to 28 289 households. Data were aggregated using 4 standard US Census regions. RESULTS 5006 individuals (17.7%) who obtained care from 133 (96.4%) of 138 HTCs in 2014 responded. Satisfaction with overall HTC care at 'always' or 'usually' (A/U) levels ranged 94.2%-97.9% regardless of patient gender, age, race, ethnicity, language, diagnosis, severity, region or frequency of HTC contact. A/U satisfaction with HTC haematologist, nurse, social worker or physical therapist, individually, ranged 95.1%-97.3% nationally. A/U satisfaction with three HTC services was 89.5%-96.9% and 94.9%-98.0% for five HTC care processes nationally. Regional satisfaction at A/U levels was at least 87.0%. Nationally, 26.4% and 21.2% rated insurance and language, respectively, as A/U problems in getting needed HTC services. CONCLUSION Patient satisfaction with US Hemophilia Treatment Center care, multi-disciplinary teams, services and processes was consistently high, documenting the value patients place on HTCs. The successful survey administration demonstrates the capability of the Network's regional infrastructure. Access to the US HTC Network is particularly critical to ongoing health in this new era of novel and gene therapies.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Poor disease understanding and gaps in expertise regarding hemophilia care have been identified at all levels in Asia Pacific. Continued education for involved healthcare professionals (HCPs) is crucial for improved delivery. OBJECTIVES To identify training and educational needs of hemophilia HCPs in Asia Pacific. METHODS Clinicians working at hemophilia treatment centers (HTCs), identified from the World Federation of Hemophilia Directory, were contacted by the Asia Pacific Hemophilia Working Group (APHWG). An electronic survey was sent to 161 centers from 15 countries for which HTC identification was complete to assess HTC characteristics, educational status, and needs. Responses were stratified by national economic capacity. RESULTS From March 23 to June 6, 2016, clinicians from 58 HTCs completed the survey. Most reported availability of specialists to serve core patient requirements, although availability of trained nurses and geneticists was low in lower-middle income countries (LMICs). Although 98.3% of HTCs had laboratory facilities, 8.8% do not participate in any quality assessment schemes. The most common limitations of current initiatives were infrequency and lack of local language content. Education is currently mostly received via internet, particularly among LMICs and upper-middle income countries (UMICs), though there is strong preference for meetings. Main barriers to receiving education were funding and time constraints. Unique priority topics were musculoskeletal management, quality of life and management by non-hematologists (high-income countries), inhibitor management and research (UMICs), and outcomes assessment (LMICs). CONCLUSION In Asia Pacific, training programs should be tailored according to unique needs of differing economic capacities and resource settings.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION AND AIM Open questions in haemophilia, such as effectiveness of innovative therapies, clinical and patient-reported outcomes (PROs), epidemiology and cost, await answers. The aim was to identify data attributes required and investigate the availability, appropriateness and accessibility of real-world data (RWD) from German registries and secondary databases to answer the aforementioned questions. METHODS Systematic searches were conducted in BIOSIS, EMBASE and MEDLINE to identify non-commercial secondary healthcare databases and registries of patients with haemophilia (PWH). Inclusion of German patients, type of patients, data elements-stratified by use in epidemiology, safety, outcomes and health economics research-and accessibility were investigated by desk research. RESULTS Screening of 676 hits, identification of four registries [national PWH (DHR), national/international paediatric (GEPARD, PEDNET), international safety monitoring (EUHASS)] and seven national secondary databases. Access was limited to participants in three registries and to employees in one secondary database. One registry asks for PROs. Limitations of secondary databases originate from the ICD-coding system (missing: severity of haemophilia, presence of inhibitory antibodies), data protection laws and need to monitor reliability. CONCLUSION Rigorous observational analysis of German haemophilia RWD shows that there is potential to supplement current knowledge and begin to address selected policy goals. To improve the value of existing RWD, the following efforts are proposed: ethical, legal and methodological discussions on data linkage across different sources, formulation of transparent governance rules for data access, redefinition of the ICD-coding, standardized collection of outcome data and implementation of incentives for treatment centres to improve data collection.
