Abstract
Purpose of Review Idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) is a chronic headache disorder with increasing prevalence. Although characterized by raised intracranial pressure causing papilledema with a risk of visual impairment, psychological symptoms such as depression, anxiety, and cognitive impairment are frequently seen but are understudied and under-reported. Together, these can negatively affect quality of life. These were explored through a systematic PRISMA scoping review. OVID, EMBASE, Cochrane, and PubMed databases were searched in April 2023, limited to those in English and published during January 2000-March 2023. PROSPERO ID CRD42023399410. Recent Findings From 454 identified studies, 24 relevant articles were identified from a range of countries including the United Kingdom, the United States, Israel, Egypt, Canada, Germany, and Brazil. Data on study design, participants, tests performed, and outcomes were collated. There is a considerable burden of psychiatric, affective, and cognitive conditions, as well as impaired quality of life, in adult patients with IIH. Notably, these were independently correlated with the presence of headache in a number of studies and with obesity in others. Summary Aside from optimizing symptom control, including reducing the severity of headaches and protecting visual function, clinicians should be mindful of the biopsychosocial difficulties and potential cognitive impairments patients with IIH face. Assistance may be required with managing concurrent depression and anxiety, as well as optimizing cognitive function. Incorporating neuropsychological assessment and individualized management strategies may be beneficial at the point of diagnosis and throughout the illness.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) occurs more frequently in obese females of childbearing age. A link between eating disorders and poor outcome has been suggested but remains unproven. METHODS This prospective field study at two tertiary headache centers included patients with clinically suspected IIH after standardized diagnostic work-up. Eating disorders were evaluated using validated questionnaires (EDQs). Primary outcome was the impact of eating disorders on IIH severity and outcome, secondary outcome was the prevalence and type of eating disorders in IIH compared to controls. RESULTS We screened 326 patients; 143 patients replied to the EDQs and were classified as 'IIH' or 'non-IIH' patients. The demographic profile of EDQ-respondents and non-respondents was similar. Presence of an eating disorder did not impact IIH severity (lumbar puncture opening pressure (p = 0.63), perimetric mean deviation (p = 0.18), papilledema (Frisén grad 1-3; p = 0.53)) nor IIH outcome (optic nerve atrophy (p = 0.6), impaired visual fields (p = 0.18)). Moreover, we found no differences in the prevalence and type of eating disorders when comparing IIH with non-IIH patients (p = 0.09). CONCLUSION Eating disorders did not affect IIH severity or outcome. We found the same prevalence and distribution pattern of eating disorders in IIH and non-IIH patients advocating against a direct link between IIH and eating disorders.

Abstract
Individuals with eating disorders (ED) experience prolonged malnutrition, binge episodes, and compensatory behaviours that affect every organ system. Psychological and physiological symptoms are worsened with comorbid dysfunctional exercise, seen in up to 80% of those with an ED. Although return to exercise is an important component of treatment and recovery, little is known about the contraindications and risks of exercise engagement specific to those with an ED. This paper provides a comprehensive narrative review of the medical and physiological complications of engaging in exercise during ED treatment and outlines when exercise may be contraindicated or used in modified or cautionary ways. We conducted a literature search on MEDLINE, PubMed, and PsychArticles to identify relevant articles, which yielded six categories of medical and physiological complications of ED that may be exacerbated by exercise: energy availability, cardiovascular health, electrolyte abnormalities, biomedical function markers, sex hormones, and body composition. We summarize the evidence for these complications for readers and offer an initial set of recommendations for incorporating exercise during ED treatment based on our findings. This review may serve as a resource for members of ED treatment teams to help evaluate more readily and confidently whether exercise is safe for individual patients and when modifications and caution may be warranted.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The objective of this study was to assess the prevalence of disordered eating behaviors (DEBs) in young individuals with idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) and to identify predictors of DEBs in this population. METHODS Individuals with IIH aged eight to 25 years and their matched controls responded to a self-rating survey comprised of the Eating Attitude Test-26 for assessing the presence of DEBs and the Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale. RESULTS Fifty-three subjects with IIH and 106 healthy controls were included. DEBs were significantly more prevalent in individuals with IIH (P < 0.001). Individuals with IIH and DEBs were more likely to have longer periods of treatment [odds ratio: 1.07, 95% CI: 1.02-1.41), P = 0.008] and to have lost a significant amount of weight during the course of treatment [odds ratio: 9.06 (95% CI: 1.30-62.9), P = 0.026]. Depression, anxiety, and stress were more prevalent in the IIH group than in the controls (P = 0.004) and were associated with DEBs in these individuals (P = 0.01). CONCLUSIONS There is an increased prevalence of DEBs among young individuals with IIH, which persists even after disease resolution, and is associated with higher reported rates of depression, anxiety, and stress. Medical caregivers should have heightened awareness to DEBs in individuals with IIH with the aim of early identification and intervention.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH) diagnosis requires lumbar puncture to measure cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) pressure. The Pre-Lumbar puncture Intracranial Hypertension Scale (PLIHS) is aimed to detect cases that will show raised or normal CSF opening pressure. METHODS Retrospective analysis of records of patients who underwent lumbar puncture for suspect IIH. The target was CSF opening pressure ≥ 250 mmH2O, whereas a set of known neurological, neuro-ophthalmological and neuro-radiological parameters, plus obesity, were used as predictors in a logistic regression model. The PLIHS was based on significant predictors and a cut-off was validated using chi-squared test around CSF opening pressure ≥ 250 and < 200 mmH2O. RESULTS Records of 162 patients were included: CSF opening pressure was <200 mmH2O in 40 and ≥ 250 mmH2O in 95 patients; 85 fulfilled IIH diagnosis. PLIHS is based on Frisén grade 2 or higher papilledema, tinnitus, empty sella, perioptic subarachnoid space distension, and obesity. Score range is 0-7: correlation with CSF opening pressure is 0.508 (p < .001), and PLIHS score is different between subjects not diagnosed with IIH, and those diagnosed with IIH both with and without papilledema (p < .001). PLIHS score ≤ 2 identifies cerebrospinal fluid pressure < 200 mmH2O; PLIHS score ≥ 3 identifies CSF opening pressure ≥ 250 mmH2O, IIH diagnosis, visual acuity ≤0.7, and optic nerve atrophy. CONCLUSIONS The PLIHS, can be used to identify patients who will particularly need LP, thus helping with the organization of the diagnostic work-up by optimising healthcare resources and potentially limit the likelihood to incur in LP-related adverse events.

Abstract
In this paper, 64-slice spiral computed tomography (CT) retrospective electrocardiographic (ECG) gating technology was used to perform coronary CT angiography scans. The aorta and aortic pulmonary artery diameter were measured quantitatively in healthy people and patients with hypertension and cerebrovascular disease. Corresponding aortic pulmonary artery ratios were obtained through calculation, and the changes of aortic diameter, aortic pulmonary artery ratio, and aortic diameter difference between different cardiac phases, ages, sexes, and levels of hypertension were discussed. Through research, it can be concluded that 64-row spiral CT scan combined with ECG gating technology can accurately measure the dynamic changes of the aortic diameter with the cardiac cycle. At the same time, the aortic diameter measured by multidetector CT scan combined with ECG gating technology and the phase difference between different phases can objectively reflect the degree of arterial damage in patients with hypertension; therefore, early screening of aortic diseases in patients with hypertension can be performed. Diagnosis to detect abnormalities as early as possible and start treatment as early as possible to prevent the disease from progressing and even affecting other tissues and organs can also be obtained.

Abstract
Binge eating disorder (BED) is the most common eating disorder and is accompanied by multiple medical comorbidities, many of which are associated with obesity-related diseases. However, the BED itself is likely to confer additional risk factors. BED presents with medical symptoms in virtually every body system and can have devastating consequences on both quality and length of life. This review covers the major comorbidities of BED and highlights areas of ongoing research in this disorder.

Abstract
Idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) is associated with obesity, and weight loss is important to reduce intracranial pressure and improve visual function. A 38-year-old woman with IIH followed an extreme diet, which resulted in 30% weight loss (BMI moved from 34.9 to 24.6). Weight loss resulted in a significant reduction of papilloedema, normalization of intracranial pressure and improvement in headache pattern, but also induced a state of initial malnutrition, relevant depression and disability. She was discharged with the indication to start a controlled diet and improve physical activity: clinical situation get back to stability, with the patient loosing further weight (BMI=21.8) through a balanced diet and moderate physical exercise. Obese patients with IIH should be offered a comprehensive treatment approach consisting of diet and nutritional support, psychological counselling, indication to increase physical activity and, when appropriate, a specific rehabilitation programme.

Abstract
Although there are numerous studies on binge eating behavior in the Western countries, studies on this behavior in Malaysia are still limited. Therefore, this cross-sectional study aimed to determine the risk factors associated with binge eating behavior among adolescents in Malaysia. The study included 356 adolescents (42.7% males and 57.3% females), aged 13 to 16 years. They completed a self-administered questionnaire on demographic and socioeconomic backgrounds, frequency of family meals, family meal environments, family cohesion, perception of body size, self-esteem, depressive symptoms, perfectionistic self-presentation, and binge eating behavior. Furthermore, their weight, height, and waist circumference were measured. It was found that 14.0% of the participants engaged in binge eating behavior (15.2% in females and 12.5% in males). Additionally, it was identified that high levels of depressive symptoms, high levels of body dissatisfaction, poor family cohesion, and low self-esteem were significantly contributed to binge eating behavior after controlling for sex (adjusted R2 = 0.165, F = 15.056, p < 0.001). The findings may suggest that improving the relationships between family members, along with eliminating adolescents’ negative emotions could help in the prevention of binge eating behavior among adolescents. The identified modifiable risk factors should be incorporated into binge eating preventive programs to increase the effectiveness of the programs.

Abstract
PURPOSE To gain further understanding of the general medical comorbidity of binge eating disorder (BED) beyond its association with obesity. METHOD We reviewed studies of general medical comorbidity in people with BED or clinically significant binge eating behavior beyond obesity. We also reviewed studies of BED in specific medical conditions. RESULTS Three broad study categories of medical comorbidity in BED were found: cross-sectional studies of medical conditions in BED; prospective studies of medical conditions in BED; and studies of BED in specific medical conditions. Cross-sectional epidemiologic data suggest that BED is associated with medical conditions related to obesity, including diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemias, sleep problems/disorders, and pain conditions, and that BED may be related to these conditions independent of obesity and co-occurring psychiatric disorders. Prospective data suggest that BED may be associated with type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome. BED or binge eating behavior is also associated with asthma and gastrointestinal symptoms and disorders, and among women, menstrual dysfunction, pregnancy complications, intracranial hypertension, and polycystic ovary syndrome. CONCLUSIONS BED is associated with substantial medical comorbidity beyond obesity. Further study of the general medical comorbidity of BED and its relationship to obesity and co-occurring psychiatric disorders is greatly needed.
