Abstract
Although sensory and quasi-sensory experiences of the deceased (SED) have been the subject of much debate, research on the phenomenology of auditory verbal experiences in the bereaved has been neglected. This case study describes the phenomenology of a regularly occurring voice hearing experience and its meaning for a single bereaved individual. The voice of the deceased can be heard as though in external space, and the experience can feel real, even when the death is fully acknowledged. A bereaved individual can welcome and benefit from the experience even when it is not recognized as a normal part of grieving in the individual's cultural context, when no afterlife belief is present, and when the experience remains unexplained. The case study demonstrates that hearing the voice of the deceased can be a regular occurrence without causing distress or dysfunction and lends support to the idea that SED are a common concomitant of normal bereavement.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The role of nurse-led motivational interviewing (MI) in improving self-care among patients with heart failure (HF) is promising, even if it still requires further empirical evidence to determine its efficacy. For this reason, this study tested its efficacy in enhancing self-care maintenance (primary endpoint), self-care management, and self-care confidence after three months from enrollment in adults with HF compared to usual care, and assessed changes in self-care over follow-up times (3, 6, 9, and 12 months). METHODS A single-center, randomized, controlled, parallel-group, superiority study with two experimental arms and a control group was performed. Allocation was in a 1:1:1 ratio between intervention groups and control. RESULTS MI was effective in improving self-care maintenance after three months when it was performed only for patients (arm 1) and for the patients-caregivers dyad (arm 2) (respectively, Cohen's d = 0.92, p-value < 0.001; Cohen's d = 0.68, p-value < 0.001). These effects were stable over the one-year follow-up. No effects were observed concerning self-care management, while MI moderately influenced self-care confidence. CONCLUSIONS This study supported the adoption of nurse-led MI in the clinical management of adults with HF.

Abstract
Background and Purpose: Although patients have had reduced access to healthcare institutions due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the related preventive measures, there is no current data on how the pandemic has affected patients who underwent transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), despite their need for close follow-up.This study investigated TAVI patients' experiences with self-care management during the pandemic. Methods: This study adopted a descriptive qualitative design. The sample consisted of 24 patients recruited using purposive sampling. Data were collected by telephone and analyzed using inductive content analysis. Results: The data were grouped under three themes: "vulnerability," "worsening of psychological condition," and "expectations." The most challenging self-care behaviors reported by TAVI patients were determined to be doing regular physical activity, managing their symptoms, complying with treatment, and attending regular check-ups. They also reported experiencing psychological problems such as fear, concern, and abandonment and stated a need for better communication and follow-up at home during the pandemic. Implications for Practice: The pandemic has more than ever demonstrated the importance of effective self-care for cardiovascular patients. Nurses should plan individualized interventions regarding the problems in self-care management that we identified in this study. In this regard, the use of secure digital applications such as telerehabilitation can be effective. Also, nurses should develop community-based and political initiatives to allow sustainable self-care management to be effectively implemented in special patient groups in extraordinary circumstances such as pandemics.

Abstract
The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has negatively affected the health and well-being of family care partners of older adults with heart failure (HF-FCPs). The purpose of the current study was to examine the caregiving experiences and coping strategies of older HF-FCPs during the ongoing pandemic. Qualitative telephone interviews were conducted with 13 HF-FCPs (aged ≥65 years) from January to April 2021. Three themes emerged: (1) Impact on Physical, Mental, and Social Health; (2) Limitations of Using Health Care Services; and (3) Coping Strategies. During the pandemic, HF-FCPs had increased caregiving burden due to managing their own age-related health and providing care to their family member with heart failure. After 1 year of COVID-19, they adjusted by increasing use of telecommunication platforms and following prevention and protection strategies. During the ongoing pandemic, emotional and social support, respite care, and digital health support for older HF-FCPs would be beneficial for improving their physical, mental, and social health. Abstract
Background Severe acute respiratory coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), also known as coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), resulted in unprecedented societal and healthcare provision change, which has been implemented at pace. Little is known about the indirect impacts of these changes and what the future effects may be. Aim To explore patients’ and clinicians’ experiences of managing heart failure (HF) during the COVID-19 pandemic. Design & setting Qualitative study in three regions of the UK: Cambridgeshire, Greater Manchester, and the West Midlands. Method Semi-structured interviews (n = 30) were conducted with older adults with established HF and healthcare providers from primary and secondary health services involved in their care. Interviews were analysed thematically. Results Compliance with the government guidance ‘Stay at home, protect the NHS, and save lives’ during the COVID-19 pandemic, and perceptions relating to risk from COVID-19 and underlying morbidity, drove ‘being careful’ behaviours and organisational changes. Enacting behavioural change and implementing organisational change resulted in opportunities and challenges for health and healthcare practice. Conclusion Perception of risk led to significant behavioural and organisational change during the pandemic. Some changes described by both patients and clinicians, such as enhanced relationships and self-monitoring, present as opportunities, and consideration should be given as to how to maintain or develop these. Equally, indirect impacts of COVID-19 and the associated lockdown, such as disengagement and withdrawal, and the fallout from reluctance to access health services, should be acknowledged and interventions to address these challenges are needed.
