Abstract
PURPOSE This study investigated the effects of prenatal education characteristics, pandemic-related pregnancy stress, and health behaviors during pregnancy on prenatal depression in pregnant women during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. METHODS The participants were 180 pregnant Korean women, recruited from internet communities for pregnancy preparation, childbirth, and childcare, from July 5 to 15, 2022. The collected data were analyzed using the t-test, analysis of variance, the Mann-Whitney U-test, the Kruskal-Wallis test, and multiple regression analysis. RESULTS The scores for pandemic-related pregnancy stress (24.50±6.37) and health behaviors during pregnancy (67.07±9.20) were high. Nearly half of the participants (n=89, 49.4%) presented with prenatal depression, with scores of 10 or greater. Prenatal depression had a positive correlation with gestational age (r=.18, p=.019) and pandemic-related pregnancy stress (r=.27, p<.001), and a negative correlation with health behaviors during pregnancy (r=-.42, p<.001). The factors associated with prenatal depression were pandemic-related pregnancy stress (t=4.70, p<.001), marital satisfaction (dissatisfied) (t=3.66, p<.001), pregnancy healthcare practice behaviors (t=-3.31, p=.001), family type (weekend couple) (t=2.84, p=.005), and gestational age (t=2.32, p=.022). The explanatory power of these variables was 38.2%. CONCLUSION Since participants had a high level of prenatal depression during the pandemic, and infectious diseases such as COVID-19 may recur, strategies should be developed to improve pregnant women's mental health with consideration of the unique variables that are relevant in a pandemic. It is also necessary to develop efficient online prenatal education programs that can be implemented even in special circumstances such as social distancing, and to evaluate their effectiveness.

Abstract
Background The exposure of unborn babies to harmful substances during prenatal stages can lead to fetal anomalies, emphasizing the significance of pregnant women's practices in ensuring optimal fetal outcomes. However, there is a lack of understanding regarding this issue from the perspective of pregnant women. Objective This study aimed to describe the experiences of pregnant women in avoiding harmful substances to their unborn babies. Methods This study used a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected between September 2020 and April 2021 through in-depth interviews with 17 pregnant women purposively selected from two hospitals in southern Thailand. Data were transcribed verbatim and analyzed using thematic analysis. Results Four themes emerged from the participants' experiences: 1) understanding of harms, which included substance characteristics, exposure characteristics, body's protective mechanism, personal experiences, and obtained information; 2) practices for safety, which consisted of food safety, work safety, ambient air safety, and safety in personal/household products; 3) challenges in avoiding harmful substances, which were unrecognition, unavailability of safe substances, discomfort and inconvenience, inevitability, and family traditions; and 4) overcoming the challenges through personal changes, obtaining support, and ensuring a peaceful mind. Conclusion The findings provide valuable insights into prenatal exposure to harmful substances, which can serve as a basis for developing comprehensive guidelines for best practices. It is crucial for nurses to receive training that enables them to educate pregnant women, enhancing their awareness of important harmful substances and promoting effective methods for maintaining safety in their daily activities. Additionally, nurses can develop interventions to empower pregnant women to overcome challenges by involving significant individuals, particularly family members, in providing support and creating an optimal prenatal environment.

Abstract
Objective: Objective: Pregnant women may be vulnerable to dental caries due to their inability to fully implement oral hygiene practices. Toothpastes are main component of oral hygiene and the most important tool for the primary prevention of caries. The study aimed to examine the knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women with children (PC) and without children (PNC) about fluoride and herbal toothpastes.
Methods: A self-administered and validated 20-item questionnaire was completed by a total of 219 pregnant participants, 85 PC and 134 PNC. Statistical analyses were performed using the SciPy v1.2.3. program.
Results: Most of the PC (57.65%; 69.41%) and PNC (72.39%; 47.76%) participants responded with “no idea” when asked about fluoride sources and the optimal amount of fluoride added to tap water by local health authorities (p= .006). The majority of the PC (62.4%) and the PNC (47.0%) had no preference for herbal toothpastes during pregnancy (p= .03). In addition, 86.6% of the PNC showed low knowledge about the nonfluoride content of herbal toothpastes (p= .023). While 51.5% of the PNC responded with “no idea” about a preference for herbal toothpastes for their children, 56.47% of the PC stated that they might not prefer using herbal toothpastes for their children’s routine oral hygiene.
Conclusion: The findings show that both PC and PNC participants had little knowledge of toothpastes and their contents. Considering that toothpastes are the most common self-applied oral hygiene tools, knowledge and awareness of fluoride and herbal toothpastes should be raised via antenatal programs.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION EHealth can help health service users take a more active role in decision-making and help health professionals guide the patient in this process. A digital tool has been designed to support maternal education (ME), and it is organised into four areas: (1) information, (2) communication, (3) health self-management and (4) clinical data. The main objective of the study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the EMAeHealth digital tool, and assess its usability and acceptability under routine conditions. METHODS AND ANALYSIS Hybrid implementation-effectiveness design: (1) A cluster randomised, prospective, longitudinal, multicentre clinical trial to evaluate the effectiveness of EMAeHealth in (A) improving health-related quality of life (primary outcome), (B) improving self-efficacy for labour and childbirth and self-efficacy in breast feeding and (C) reducing the number of visits to the obstetric emergency services and health centre in situations of 'non-pathological pregnancy', 'false labour pains' and 'non-pathological puerperium'. The EMAeHealth intervention plus usual care will be compared with receiving only usual care, which includes traditional ME. N=1080 participants, 540 for each study arm. Two measurements will be made throughout the pregnancy and three in the first 16 weeks post partum. (2) A mixed-method study to evaluate the usability and acceptability of the tool, barriers and facilitators for its use, and implementation in our health system: focus groups (women, professionals and agents involved) and a quantitative analysis of implementation indicators. ANALYSIS It will be carried out by intention to treat, using mixed models taking into account the hierarchical structure of the data and per protocol to evaluate the effectiveness of the express use of the digital tool. ETHICS AND DISSEMINATION Clinical Research Ethics Committee of Euskadi, Spain, (Ref: PI2020044) approved this study. The results will be actively disseminated through manuscript publications and conference presentations. TRIAL REGISTRATION NUMBER NCT04937049.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Implementation science aims to embed evidence-based practice as 'usual care' using theoretical underpinnings to guide these processes. Conceptualising the complementary purpose and application of theoretical approaches through all stages of an implementation project is not well understood and is not routinely reported in implementation research, despite call for this. This paper presents the synthesis and a collective approach to application of a co-design model, a model for understanding need, theories of behaviour change with frameworks and tools to guide implementation and evaluation brought together with the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR). METHOD Using a determinant framework such as the CFIR provides a lens for understanding, influencing, and explaining the complex and multidimensional variables at play within a health service that contribute to planning for and delivering effective patient care. Complementary theories, models, frameworks, and tools support the research process by providing a theoretical and practical structure to understanding the local context and guiding successful local implementation. RESULTS This paper provides a rationale for conceptualising the multidimensional approach for implementation using the worked example of a pregnancy, birth, postnatal and early parenting education intervention for expectant and new parents at a large maternity hospital. CONCLUSION This multidimensional theoretical approach provides useful, practical guidance to health service researchers and clinicians to develop project specific rationale for their theoretical approach to implementation projects.

Abstract
Background Despite the benefit maternal education has for women, it needs new tools to increase its effectiveness and scope, in tune with the needs of current users. Objective We attempted to develop a multifunctional personalized eHealth platform aimed at the self-management of health in relation to maternity, which can be considered a flexible and adaptable maternal education tool. Methods The International Patient Decision Aid Standards (IPDAS) were applied. A website prototype was developed for implementation in the public health system using a collaborative action research process, in which experts and patients participate, with qualitative research techniques, as well as focus groups, prioritization, and consensus techniques. Results We have proposed a website that includes (1) systematically updated information related to clinical practice guidelines, (2) interaction between peers and users/professionals, (3) instruments for self-assessment of health needs as a basis for working on counseling, agreement on actions, help in the search for resources, support in decision-making, and monitoring and evaluation of results, and (4) access for women to their clinical data and the option of sharing the data with other health agents. These components, with different access requirements, would be reviewed through iterative cycles depending on the frequency and effectiveness resulting from their use and would be accessible from any digital device. Conclusions A website that supports maternal education should contain not only information, but also resources for individual attention and social support. Its usefulness for the health and satisfaction of women should be evaluated in various different environments.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION The incidences and types of missed nursing care in the acute care and community sectors are both ubiquitous and quantifiable, however, there are few research studies relating to the type and frequency of missed maternity-based care for mothers and families. The aim of this study is to estimate the incidences and types of Australian missed midwifery care and to identify those factors that have causal links to it. METHODS A non-experimental, descriptive method using a Likert developed MISSCARE scale was used to ascertain consensus estimates made by Australian midwives. Electronic invitations were extended to their membership using an inclusive link to the MISSCARE survey. Inclusion criteria were all ANMF members who were midwives and currently employed within the Australian public and private healthcare systems. Data analysis was undertaken using both Rasch analysis and Structural Equation Modelling. RESULTS The type and frequency of missed Australian midwifery care can be quantified and several demographic factors are significant predictor variables for overall missed midwifery care. The most prevalent aspects of missed care in the Australian midwifery setting are midwives’ hand hygiene, supportive care, perinatal education, and surveillance type midwifery practices. CONCLUSIONS As the frequencies and types of missed midwifery care in Australia have been identified, it is possible for midwives to be mindful of minimising care omissions related to hand hygiene, providing supportive care and education to mothers as well as surveillance-type midwifery practices.

Abstract
This article aimed to identify the scientific evidence about the educational strategies used to promote prenatal health. This is a systematic meta-synthesis. Analysis of published studies revealed the emergence of two central thematic categories: methodological strategies for the educational activities and; educational tools to promote prenatal health. The most used strategy was health education with pregnant women or couples, using conversation circles and focus groups as methods to target the public. The strategies and educational tools used to promote maternal health in prenatal care seek to anchor the expanded concept of health and to contribute to the construction of varied models of health education.

Consensus on priorities in maternal education: results of Delphi and nominal group technique approaches. BMC Pregnancy Childbirth 2019; 19:264. Abstract
Background Maternal education is wide-ranging and covers many areas from pregnancy to the immediate postpartum period and childrearing. However, for it to be effective, more resources need to be assigned to key topics. The goal of this study was to identify and prioritize the most important issues in maternal education, so that specific objectives could subsequently be set and learning outcomes evaluated. Methods We drew up a comprehensive list of topics addressed in existing maternal education programs, based on a systematic review of information obtained from the Internet and the experience of the research team. The topics were presented to a multidisciplinary panel whose members were asked to rate them from 1 to 9, and consensus of opinion was reached using a two-round Delphi survey, with consensus defined beforehand as 80% agreement among panelists in awarding a score of 7, 8 or 9. The most highly-rated topics were then discussed and again prioritized by a multidisciplinary team of healthcare and non-healthcare experts, using a nominal group technique. Results Initially, 650 topics were identified and grouped into 80 categories which were then prioritized by 54 healthcare and non-healthcare experts using a Delphi survey with a study participation rate of around 20%. 63 topics were considered very important, so criteria were restricted and only the 24 highest-scoring selected (95% of agreement on scores ≥7 or 80% of agreement on scores ≥8). Using the nominal group technique, a group of 12 experts identified the following priorities: initiation and establishment of breastfeeding, development of a birth plan, identification of problems and self-care postpartum, nutrition and a healthy lifestyle, options for pain management in labor and birth and characteristics of a normal newborn/looking after a newborn baby. Conclusion This study, with a Delphi study and the Consensus among Experts: the nominal group technique, has succeeded in identifying priority topics in maternal education. We need to assess women’s needs in relation to these topics, design an intervention to respond to these needs and evaluate its effectiveness.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE the aim of this study is to evaluate the quality of web pages found by women when carrying out an exploratory search concerning pregnancy, childbirth, the postpartum period and breastfeeding. DESIGN/SETTING a descriptive study of the first 25 web pages that appear in the search engines Google, Yahoo and Bing, in October 2014 in the Basque Country (Spain), when entering eight Spanish words and seven English words related to pregnancy, childbirth, the postpartum period, breastfeeding and newborns. Web pages aimed at healthcare professionals and forums were excluded. The reliability was evaluated using the LIDA questionnaire, and the contents of the web pages with the highest scores were then described. FINDINGS a total of 126 web pages were found using the key search words. Of these, 14 scored in the top 30% for reliability. The content analysis of these found that the mean score for "references to the source of the information" was 3.4 (SD: 2.17), that for "up-to-date" was 4.30 (SD: 1.97) and the score for "conflict of interest statement" was 5.90 (SD: 2.16). The mean for web pages created by universities and official bodies was 13.64 (SD: 4.47), whereas the mean for those created by private bodies was 11.23 (SD: 4.51) (F (1,124)5.27. p=0.02). The content analysis of these web pages found that the most commonly discussed topic was breastfeeding, followed by self-care during pregnancy and the onset of childbirth. CONCLUSION in this study, web pages from established healthcare or academic institutions were found to contain the most reliable information. The significant number of web pages found in this study with poor quality information indicates the need for healthcare professionals to guide women when sourcing information online. As the origin of the web page has a direct effect on reliability, the involvement of healthcare professionals in the use, counselling and generation of new technologies as an intervention tool is increasingly essential.
