Abstract
BACKGROUND Noise annoyance is a detrimental cognitive response elicited by noise exposure. Precisely identifying primary risk factors plays a vital role in effectively preventing and managing this issue. OBJECTIVE This study aimed to develop a comprehensive Bayesian network model to predict noise annoyance, by identifying main contributing factors. METHODS We conducted a deep literature review to list variables affecting the probability of noise annoyance Expert knowledge was elicited to finalize variables and find their causal relationship. We collected questionnaires from 542 workers in a steel factory during 2025-2023 to gather data on noise annoyance, insomnia severity, general health, workload, personality type, job stress, and loudness perception as the key variables. The Bayesian network was applied to model the probability of noise annoyance among workers and determine its key influencing factors. The model's accuracy and sensitivity were ultimately evaluated based on different approaches. RESULTS Questionnaires results indicated that over 50% of the workers found the noise annoying, and nearly half perceived the loudness as extremely high. BN results showed that stress, sensitivity to noise, and personality were identified as the most influential factors affecting noise annoyance, respectively. The model exhibited a low error rate of 11.81% and a high Area Under the Curve of 0.88, demonstrating a high level of accuracy in predicting noise annoyance levels experienced by workers. CONCLUSION The study highlights the developed Bayesian model as a valuable tool for predicting risk factors and emphasizes pre-employment health assessments incorporating stress, noise sensitivity and personality to prevent, identify and manage noise annoyance in industrial settings.

Abstract
THE AIM To explore and describe workplace stress levels and health-promoting behaviours reported by emergency nurses in China, and to investigate factors associated with workplace stress and health-promoting lifestyle behaviours among emergency nurses. METHODS A cross-sectional study was conducted between October 2019 and January 2020. Nurses (n = 1565) were recruited from the emergency departments of 54 hospitals within the Sichuan Province of West China. Each subject completed the Chinese versions of the Nurse Workplace Stress Scale, the Health-Promoting Lifestyle Profile (HPLP-II) and demographic questions. Linear regression analyses were used to identify associations between workplace stress and the health-promoting lifestyle and risk factors correlated with these two measurements. RESULTS Workplace stress was negatively associated with health-promoting behaviours. Linear regression analysis showed that gender, marital status, whether wages met expected standards and professional rank were found to be associated with health promotion behaviours; marital status, whether income met expected standards, the number of night shifts per month and health promotion behaviours were found to be associated with workplace stress. CONCLUSION Higher levels of workplace stress are associated with lower levels of engagement in health-promoting behaviours, suggesting the potential for reducing workplace stress through the adoption of healthier habits. Policies should prioritize workplace stress by promoting healthy lifestyle initiatives.

Abstract
BACKGROUND One of the global issues facing the nursing profession is work-related stress because it interferes with care quality and organisational competency. These kinds of stressful situations can cause damage to the mental ability of the affected individual resulting in low job productivity. In a Nigerian healthcare setting, patient safety is under-researched. AIM This study aimed to assess the influence of work-related stress on patient safety culture among nurses in a tertiary hospital. MATERIALS AND METHODS The study adopted a descriptive cross-sectional survey. The Population of the study was nurses who are currently serving as employees at Federal Medical Center Birnin-Kebbi. Proportional and systematic sampling methods were used in the selection of the sample of the study. The tools used for this study were adapted Hospital Survey on Patient Safety (HSOPS) and Nurses' Occupational Stressor Scale. Ethical approval was obtained from the research ethical committee of the hospital. RESULTS The moderate stress experience was having the highest percentage (45.0%). The highest percentage of the nurses (69.9%) practised a moderate safety culture. There were weak or very weak significant negative correlations (P < 0.01) between patient safety culture practices and occupational stress across all the subscales of the nurses' occupational stressors scale except in the occupational hazards subscale in which there was extremely weak and non-significant negative correlation. Work-family conflict was a significant predictor of patient safety culture, t (208) = -2.341, P < 0.05. Difficulty in taking leave was a significant predictor of patient safety culture, t (208) = -2.190, P < 0.05. CONCLUSION There was a significant negative correlation between stress and safety practice which implies that as stress increased safety practice decreased. These study findings can be used to develop ongoing strategies and targeted interventions in addressing work-related stress.

Abstract
Occupational stress and burnout of health personnel during the COVID-19 pandemic, especially of the nursing population in intensive care units (ICUs), were quite frequent along with negative effects and a direct correlation with the manifestation of many physical, behavioral and psychological symptoms. For the purposes of this research, a quantitative survey was carried out, in which 153 ICU nurses of secondary and tertiary public hospitals in Greece participated. Nurses completed anonymously and voluntarily a special electronic questionnaire about stress, burnout, personal concerns about the pandemic, the consequences of the outbreak and their resilience toward COVID-19 patients' care. Specific validated scales were used in this study. Female nurses felt, to a greater extent than males, work-related burnout, especially patient-related burnout and total burnout. There was a statistically significant negative relationship between the existence of a psychological support group within a hospital and personal burnout. Participants who had experience in caring for SARS-CoV-2 patients had higher mental resilience than those without experience. As the consequences experienced by the health professionals of the reference COVID-19 hospitals were increased, so did mental resilience and stress coping strategies during the pandemic. The COVID-19 outbreak and the conditions configurated in the health system had negative effects on the psycho-emotional state of ICU nurses. The manifestation of anxiety, stress and burnout had a direct correlation with both the work and personal functionality of the nurses and the whole of the healthcare services provided. The early recognition of symptoms and their individualized management are imperative for the protection of the psycho-emotional well-being of nurses.

Abstract
Background Occupational stress is one of the major occupational health hazards globally. This study investigated the current situation of and factors influencing the occupational stress of physicians and nurses in emergency departments (EDs) after contracting coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Methods An online questionnaire survey was conducted among physicians and nurses in EDs in China between January 5 and 8, 2023. A general descriptive analysis of variables was conducted, the differences in the occupational stress of physicians and nurses in EDs with different characteristics were analyzed using the chi-square test, and factors influencing occupational stress were investigated using generalized ordinal logistic regression. Results Of the 1924 physicians and nurses in EDs who contracted COVID-19, 64.71% considered their occupational stress high or very high, with overly intense work as the primary stressor. Those with ≥ 10 years of work tenure, working in tertiary hospitals and with higher professional titles were more stressed, while females, nurses, those with a master's degree or higher, and those who continued to work after contracting COVID-19 were less stressed. There were differences in the predictors of occupational stress between physicians and nurses. Conclusion China's physicians and nurses in EDs had high occupational stress after contracting COVID-19. Attention should be given to the occupational mental health of physicians and nurses in EDs, and training on the prevention and treatment of COVID-19 infection should be strengthened.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Previous studies have shown that a disease outbreak may cause high stress among healthcare workers. However, the vast majority of those studies applied a variable-centered approach, in which relationships between the variables are believed to be identical across the studied population. The main purpose of this study was to identify latent profiles of healthcare workers with similar combinations of levels of various work-related stressors during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic and to examine their predictors. METHODS A cross-sectional paper-and-pencil study was conducted among a convenience sample of 297 emergency department (ED) nurses and 219 emergency medical services (EMS) staff members working in 10 hospital EDs and 52 EMS centers in Ardabil province, Iran. Data were collected using the Health and Safety Executive Management Standards Indicator Tool (HSE-MS IT). RESULTS Using the latent profile analysis (LPA), five work-related stress profiles were identified: "high stress with a good understanding of one's job role" (11.1%), "moderate stress" (41.9%), "relatively high stress with average demands and a very low understanding of one's job role" (23.8%), "low stress" (18.0%), and "generally low stress but with very high job demands and relational conflicts" (5.2%). Age, marital status, service location, workplace, and the number of overtime hours significantly predicted profile membership. CONCLUSION The results of the study suggest the importance of incorporating various sources of stress and using the person-centered approach when investigating the work-related stress of healthcare workers during disease outbreaks. Identifying sociodemographic and work-related predictors of profile membership may be useful for preparing interventions that will be better suited to healthcare workers' needs.

Abstract
Background A negative psychosocial work environment causes stress to the physicians of healthcare institutions, which affect their physical and mental health. This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of psychosocial work factors and stress and their associations with the physical and mental health of hospital physicians in the Kaunas region of Lithuania. Materials and methods A cross-sectional study was performed. It was based on a questionnaire survey, which contained the Job Content Questionnaire (JCQ), three scales of Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire (COPSOQ), and Medical Outcomes Study Short Form-36 (SF-36) health survey. The study was carried out in 2018. A total of 647 physicians completed the survey. Multivariate logistic regression models were performed by using the stepwise method. In the models potentially, confounding factors such as age and gender were controlled. In our study, the dependent variables were stress dimensions, and the independent variables were psychosocial work factors. Results The analysis showed that a quarter of surveyed physicians were classified as having low job skill discretion and decision-making authority, and the support of supervisors was weak. Approximately one-third of the respondents had low decision latitude, low co-worker support, and high job demands, and felt insecure at work. Job insecurity and gender were found to be the strongest independent variables for general and cognitive stress. The support of the supervisor was found as a significant factor in the case of somatic stress. Better evaluation of mental health was related to job skill discretion and co-workers' and supervisors' support, but it did not affect physical health. Conclusion The confirmed associations suggest that looking at work organization factors, reducing exposure to stress, and increasing perception of the psychosocial environment can be linked to better subjective health evaluation.

Abstract
Introduction The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in an unanticipated shift in nursing practice to meet the sudden increase in demand for pandemic-related care, leaving nurses unable to provide acceptable services to patients in the way they were taught and expected to do. It put the nurses under more stress and most of them were dissatisfied with their work due to excessive burnout. Objectives The study determined the level of stress and burnout among front-line nurses working at the Ministry of Health Hospitals in Najran, Saudi Arabia during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods A total of 1594 nurses were chosen using a convenience sampling approach. Google Forms were used to collect data from the nurses. COVID-19 stressors questionnaire and an abbreviated Maslach Burnout Inventory were used to assess stress and burnout among nurses. Results Our study reported that the majority of nurses experienced extreme levels of stress as their colleagues became ill; that they would spread COVID-19 infection to their family and friends; upsetting to see COVID-19 patients dying in front of them; not knowing when the COVID-19 pandemic will be under control; and emotional exhaustion and physical fatigue. A vast majority of nurses felt there were not adequate protective measures; there was a shortage of staff at times; were nervous and scared and thought of quitting their job; and they would quit their job if a COVID-19 outbreak recur and they would fall sick. Likewise, 41.9% of the nurses experienced a high level of burnout. A significant association was found between the area of working and the level of burnout among nurses. Conclusion As nurses experienced extreme levels of stress and severe burnout, it is vital to design regular programs to assist frontline nurses in maintaining their mental health.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Nearly all workers and industry sectors have been affected by the ongoing coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic in some form since March 2020. However, the pandemic-related stressors experienced in the workplace may vary from industry to industry and may have disproportionally affected some workers. This study investigates increased stress levels, stressor events, and other perceptions of stress from at-risk workers during COVID-19. METHODS An in-depth work-related stress survey that incorporated many aspects of work, life, work-life balance, and the health of employer-employee relationships was developed with a focus on COVID-19-related stressors. The cross-sectional survey was distributed online through professional networks from October to November 2021. The survey results were statically analyzed using Kruskal-Wallis one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) after grouping the industry sectors into the four groups to determine trends within these groupings. RESULTS The survey was completed by 670 workers in sectors such as manual labor, business/office service, healthcare, and education. A variety of trends were determined between the occurrence of COVID-19 and work stress which had, in some cases, affected some industry sectors to a larger degree than others. More than 50% of the participants reported experiencing an increased workload since the onset of the pandemic with some sectors, like healthcare, reporting an increased workload more frequently at 80%. Around 55% of respondents believed they could be exposed to COVID-19 in their workplace, ranging from 52% of business/office service workers to 77% of healthcare workers. CONCLUSIONS As workplaces navigate past the pandemic, occupational stress should be addressed head-on through workplaces providing expanded resources so as to assure work stress associated with future pandemics are mitigated appropriately. Whether the stressor is associated with irregular shift work or psychosocial aspects (i.e. relying on coworkers), many of these stressors have the possibility to become exacerbated by external factors such as pandemics.

Abstract
Chronic stress has been associated with a range of health disparities, but examination of occupational stress, especially in the wake of COVID-19, has been minimal for many careers. A novel methodology involving work stress diaries and collection of salivary cortisol was employed to determine correlations between occupations, occupational stressors, and how well these are related to the physiological response to stress exposure, the release of cortisol. While cortisol levels tended to follow typical circadian rhythm based on sampling times, cortisol levels also followed the subjective stress levels listed in the work stress diaries following linear regression analysis using the pooled study population data (p = 0.042). When comparing the stressors between the studied careers, participants who worked in the healthcare industry accounted for one-third of the total participants, but reported nearly half (42%) of the more severe occupational stressors listed in the diaries. Finally, the most commonly listed emotional reactions to exposures listed included feelings of stress, frustration, anger, anxiety, or overwhelm. As the workplace progresses from the pandemic, the opportunity to reduce occupational stress exposures in the workplace is at hand. Companies that work towards minimizing the stress faced by their workforce would have a healthier and more relaxed workforce.

Abstract
The majority of shift nurses are female, there is still an expectation that they fulfil the traditional role of women in the family in Asia, often conflicting with shift work, increases stress, and affects cortisol secretion patterns. This study was to understand the changes in the cortisol awakening response (CAR) and work stress in nursing personnel working in different shifts. We recruited 41 female shift nurses. We administered the Taiwan Nurse Stress Checklist (NSC), and the nurses themselves collected saliva samples upon waking and 30 minutes after waking for three consecutive days at home. The saliva samples enabled us to analyze the increase in cortisol levels following waking (CARi) of nurses working different shifts (day, evening, and night). We then analyzed the data obtained using a hierarchical linear model (HLM). The results indicated that in terms of stress from the inability to complete personal tasks, the regression coefficients of night-shift nurses vs. day-shift nurses (B = 4.39, p < .001) and night-shift nurses vs. evening-shift nurses (B = 3.95, p < .001) were positive, which means that night-shift nurses were under significantly greater stress than day-shift and evening-shift nurses. With regard to CARi, the regression coefficients of night-shift nurses vs. day-shift nurses (B = -3.41, p < .001) and night-shift nurses vs. evening-shift nurses (B = -2.92, p < .01) were negative, which means that night-shift nurses have significantly lower CARi values than day-shift and evening-shift nurses. With regard to cortisol levels 30 minutes after waking, the regression coefficients of night-shift nurses vs. day-shift nurses (B = -3.88, p < .01) and night-shift nurses vs. evening-shift nurses (B = -3.31, p < .01) were negative, which means that night-shift nurses have significantly lower cortisol levels 30 minutes after waking than day-shift and evening-shift nurses. These results indicate that female night-shift nurses display the lowest CARi and cortisol levels 30 minutes after waking and are more negatively affected by being unable to complete personal tasks.

Abstract
BACKGROUND: In each community, health problems’ patterns and geographical changes are of prime importance to determine high and low-risk areas. OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to investigate the Spatial patterning of occupational stress and its related factors in Iranian critical care nurses using a hierarchical Bayesian technique METHODS: The current research was a cross-sectional descriptive-analytical study. The data includes the number of critical care unit nurses who show a high stress level based on a questionnaire. We used variables such as age, gender, collaboration status, working time, marital status, clinical experience, education, supervisor support, stress score, and working on holiday days for this study. The survey participants had to be at least 18 years old, a registered nurse, and working in the intensive care unit (ICU). OpenBUGS version 3.2.3 was used to implement the Bayesian hierarchical Poisson model and find partial patterning of occupational stress and its related factors. RESULTS: The final sample size was 17414 nurses. The overall prevalence of occupational stress in ICU nurses was estimated at 70%. The lowest and highest prevalence was 65.8% in the North Khorasan province and 75.2% in Golestan province. Occupational stress had a statistically significant association with collaboration status, but with demographic variables, shift work, supportive supervisor, and working on holidays had no statistically significant association. CONCLUSIONS: According to the findings, it is necessary to eliminate or reduce job stress and increase efficiency in Iranian nurses, encourage teamwork and collaboration as an essential element of a healthy workplace environment.

Abstract
Background Globally, work-related stress had a significant impact on health-care providers. Private and public health-care institutions are considered intensive work areas for work-related stress. In Ethiopia, most studies were focused on only public hospitals. However, this study aimed to include private and public hospitals. Methods A hospital-based comparative cross-sectional study was conducted among 304 nurses working in public and private hospitals from 8 April to 7 May 2021. A simple random sampling technique was used to select nurses, and the data were collected using a standardized self-administered questionnaire. Data were entered into Epidata version 4.6.1 and then exported to SPSS version 26 for analysis. Descriptive statistics, bivariable and multivariable binary logistic regression were applied. The final multivariate regression declared significant determinants at a p-value <0.05 and a 95% confidence interval with an adjusted odds ratio (AOR) to reveal the strength of associated variables. Results In this study, the overall magnitude of work-related stress among nurses was 48.4% (95% CI: 42.4–54.6) (51.6% among public hospitals and 46.4% for private hospitals). Bachelor nurses (AOR=0.32,95% CI:0.13,0.76), working in operation room (AOR=7.89, 95% CI:1.46,9.60) and job dissatisfaction (AOR=4.95, 95% CI: 1.94,2.61) were determinants of work-stress in private hospitals whereas being female (AOR = 3.15, 95% CI: 1.43, 6.92), working experience 5 to 10 years (AOR=0.42, 95% CI: 0.18, 0.97), having degree and above (AOR = 0.41, 95% CI: 0.17, 0.99) and working in intensive care unit (AOR = 6.48, 95% CI:1.49, 8.18) were determinants of work-related stress in public hospitals. Conclusion The overall magnitude of work-related stress among nurses in Dessie city was almost half. In contrast, more work-related stress among nurses working in public hospitals than in private hospitals. Sex, operating (working) unit, working experience, and type of institution were work-related stress determinants in public and private hospitals. Hence, reducing workload and providing stress management training is crucial to reducing work-related stress among nurses.

Abstract
Introduction Emergency Department (ED) nurses and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Staff are faced with several stressors daily, such as the COVID 19 pandemic situation, which affects the health and the quality of services to patients. Spiritual coping with stress is an attempt to overcome the stress on the basis of what is transcendent. The use of spiritual coping strategies helps a person to overcome tensions caused by the work environment. Objective The current study aimed to investigate occupational stress and its relationship with spiritual coping among ED nurses and EMS staff. Materials and methods This study was descriptive-correlational research. Using convenience sampling methods, 516 ED nurses and EMS staff were enrolled in the study. The study instruments included demographic information, HSE Occupational Stress, and spiritual coping questionnaires. Data were analyzed using SPSSv.22 software and the descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation test, t-test, ANOVA, and multiple linear regression. Results The highest and lowest levels of occupational stress were the dimensions of “demand” (2.96 ± 0.65) and “role” (3.89 ± 0.81) respectively. Multiple linear regression analysis showed that positive spiritual coping, negative spiritual coping, workplace, service location, type of employment, and work position were important factors affecting the occupational stress of ED nurses and EMS staff, which accounted for 0.34% of the variance. Conclusion The findings showed the need to improve the work environment for ED nurses and EMS staff, including changes in physical working conditions, salaries, and better employment conditions. Training programs are recommended to reduce stress through the use of positive spiritual coping strategies.

Abstract
Aim We aim to explore the impact of occupational stress on the quality of life of nurses in infectious disease departments and to explore the mediating role of psychological resilience on this impact. Background Sudden public health events and the prevalence of infectious diseases give nurses in infectious disease departments a heavy task load and high occupational stress, which can affect their quality of life, and which is closely related to the quality of clinical care they provide. There are few existing studies on occupational stress, psychological resilience, and the quality of life of nurses in infectious disease departments. Methods We collected data from infectious-disease-specialized hospitals or infectious disease departments of general hospitals in China. In total 1,536 nurses completed questionnaires: the Effort-Reward Imbalance Questionnaire, the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale, and the World Health Organization Quality of Life Brief Scale. We use a structural equation model to test the mediating role of the psychological resilience in the relationship between occupational stress and quality of life. Results Among 1,536 participants, 88.2% experienced an effort-reward imbalance. The average scores for psychological resilience and quality of life were 56.06 (SD = 14.19) and 51.80 (SD = 8.23), respectively. Our results show that occupational stress is negatively correlated with psychological resilience (r = -0.28, p < 0.01) and quality of life (r = -0.44, p < 0.01). In addition, we find that psychological resilience is positively correlated with quality of life (r = 0.55, p < 0.01) and that the indirect effect of occupational stress on quality of life through psychological resilience is significant (β = -0.036, 95% CI: 0.027 to 0.426), indicating at least a partial mediating role of psychological resilience. Conclusion A high proportion of nurses in infectious disease departments felt that their jobs' effort-reward imbalance was high. These nurses' scores for psychological resilience were in the middle level among Chinese people generally, but their quality of life was lower than the Chinese norm. We conclude that occupational stress has an important impact on their quality of life, and psychological resilience plays a partial mediating role on this impact. Implications for Nursing Management Hospital managers can benefit from paying attention to the occupational stress of nurses and helping to improve the quality of life of nurses by alleviating this occupational stress and improving psychological resilience.

Abstract
Severe pneumonia with novel pathogens, also called COVID-19, caused a pandemic in Taiwan as well as in the rest of the world in May 2021. Nurses are under great stress when caring for critically ill patients with COVID-19. This study aimed to explore the perceived stress and coping behaviors of nurses caring for critically ill patients with COVID-19 using a mixed-methods approach. We recruited 85 nurses from a special intensive care unit (ICU) of a medical center in Taiwan between May and June 2021. To gather data, we used a questionnaire on basic characteristics, the perceived stress scale (PSS-14), and the brief coping orientation to problems experienced inventory (B-COPE), then conducted a qualitative interview. The results showed that the average perceived stress level among nurses was 25.4 points, and most of them perceived moderate stress. The top three coping behaviors practiced by the nurses were active coping, planning, and acceptance. Nurses who received less perceived support from their friends or families and who had shorter working experience in nursing had significantly higher stress levels. The qualitative results revealed that the nurses' perceived stress came from fear, worry, and the increased burden caused by caring for critical patients with COVID-19. Coping behaviors included rest, seeking support, and affirmative fighting. Based on these findings, it is suggested that the support nurses receive from their families is an important predictor of perceived stress. Therefore, it is suggested that nurses be provided with more support in dealing with stress caused by caring for critical patients with COVID-19 in special ICUs.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To determine the level of occupational stress in intensive care nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic and factors of perceived stress. METHODS The study had a descriptive design. A total of 262 nurses working in adult intensive care units (ICUs) across Turkey during the COVID-19 pandemic constituted the sample. Data were collected by an online survey and the Perceived Stress Scale-14. Descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one- way analysis of variance, regression analysis and Bonferroni test were used for data analysis. RESULTS Percentage of nurses with moderate level of occupational stress was 62%. High working hours and nurse:patient ratios, heavy workload and failure in patient treatment were the main factors of occupational stress. Level of occupational stress was affected by gender, number of children, years of experience in intensive care and the type of work shift. CONCLUSION Intensive care nurses in Turkey experienced moderate stress during the COVID-19 pandemic. Interventions to prevent occupational stress among intensive care nurses in the long run might be implemented.

Abstract
Objetivo: avaliar os níveis de estresse e burnout dos trabalhadores de enfermagem de clínica cirúrgica antes e após a participação em grupo de apoio.
Materiais e método: estudo quase-experimental, realizado em um hospital público com 16 trabalhadores. Os dados foram coletados entre maio e junho de 2015, e no mesmo período em 2016, por meio de instrumento de características biossociaise laborais, da Escala de Estresse no Trabalho e do Inventário Maslach de Burnout.
Resultados: antes da participação no grupo de apoio em 2015, houve predomínio de médio nível de estresse (50 %). Quanto ao burnout, evidenciaram-se níveis de baixo desgaste emocional (43,8 %), baixa despersonalização (56,3 %), baixa realização profissional (43,8 %) e nenhum caso de burnout. Em 2016, após a participação no grupo deapoio, o nível médio de estresse manteve-se prevalente (56,6 %). Para o burnout, houve aumento dos níveis de desgaste emocional e despersonalização, e diminuição da realização profissional. Apesar disso, também não foram identificados casos da síndrome.
Conclusões: a participação no grupo de apoio mobilizou o aumento do alto nível de estresse, apesar da manutenção da prevalência de nível médio. Quanto ao burnout, notaram-se piora na avaliação do desgaste emocional, despersonalização e, consequentemente, diminuição da realização profissional. Situação que sinaliza atenção, pois mostra condição favorável para o surgimento de casos da síndrome. Contudo, ainda são necessárias intervenções com foco no enfrentamento dessesestressores ocupacionais.

Abstract
AIM The present study aimed to investigate the effects of various job stressors on caring behaviours of nursing staff. DESIGN A cross-sectional nationwide study. METHODS This cross-sectional, descriptive-correlational study was conducted on 260 nurses employed in the inpatient wards of seven teaching hospitals in Tehran, Iran during December 2019-February 2020. The participants were selected via convenience sampling. Data were collected using a demographic questionnaire, the nursing stress scale and the caring behaviours inventory. Data analysis was performed in SPSS version 20 using descriptive statistics and linear regression analysis. RESULTS The results of regression analysis indicated that job stress is correlated with nurses' caring behaviours (β = -.36; p = .001). Factors such as workload (β = -.27; p = .001), uncertainty about patient treatment (β = -.26; p = .017) and lack of emotional preparation (β = -.20; p = .017) were the important stressors associated with nurses' caring behaviours. CONCLUSIONS According to the results, high levels of perceived job stress due to workload, uncertainty about patient treatment and lack of emotional preparation are associated with lower levels of nurses' caring behaviours. IMPACTS The findings of this study showed that to provide patients with optimal caring behaviours, hospital and nursing managers should design interventions to reduce nurses' job stressors, especially in terms of their interactions with their colleagues and physicians.

Abstract
Objective Occupational stress is considered a worldwide epidemic experienced by a large proportion of the working population. The identification of characteristics that place people at high risk for occupational stress is the basis of managing and intervening in this condition. In this study, we aimed to identify and validate the risk features for occupational stress among medical workers using a risk model and nomogram. Methods This cross-sectional study included 1988 eligible participants from Henan Province in China. Occupational stress and worker-occupation fit were measured with the Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scales (DASS-21) and Worker-Occupation Fit Inventory (WOFI). The identification of risk features was achieved through constructing multiple logistic regression model, and the risk features were used to develop the risk model and nomogram. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves and calibration plots were generated to assess the effectiveness and calibration of the risk model. Results Among 1988 participants in our study, there were 42.5% (845/1988) medical workers experienced occupational stress. The risk features for occupational stress included poor work-occupation fit (WOF score < 25, expected risk: 77.3%), nurse population (expected risk: 63.1%), male sex (expected risk: 67.2%), work experience duration of 11–19 years (expected risk: 54.5%), experience of a traumatic event (expected risk: 65.3%) and the lack of a regular exercise habit (expected risk: 60.2%). For medical workers who have these risk features, the expected risk probability of occupational stress would be 90.2%. Conclusion The current data can be used to identify medical workers at risk of developing occupational stress. Identifying risk features for occupational stress and the work-occupation fit can support hierarchical stress management in hospitals. Abstract
This study aims to describe the prevalence and factors associated of physical and psychosocial demands among Brazilian workers. Data were obtained from the 2013 Brazilian National Health Survey. Physical demand was defined as jobs that require intense physical effort or excessive walking, whereas psychosocial demand was defined as involvement in stressful activities. Multivariate logistic regression was used to estimate the association between demands and health conditions, occupational characteristics, and work conditions. Out of 39,590 participants, 54.4% reported physical demands and 35.5% psychosocial demands at work. After adjustment for sociodemographic characteristics, health conditions, occupational characteristics, and work conditions remained significantly associated with physical or psychosocial workload. The results suggest that in Brazil the work has a high level of physical and psychosocial demands, which are associated with occupational features and health conditions. It is necessary to incorporate work activities as significant factors to investigate the causes of diseases. And the interventions and policies aimed at preventing the negative occupational exposures are urgent, and can contribute to improve physical and psychosocial health at the workplace.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), a common type of occupational diseases, have become the main cause of absenteeism and early retirement in the occupational population, as well as a major risk factor for occupational disability. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of occupational stress and mental health on MSDs in coal miners in Xinjiang, China, to provide a theoretical basis for reducing the incidence of MSDs in coal miners and improving their physical and mental health. METHODS In this study, stratified cluster random sampling was used to randomly select six coal mining companies in Xinjiang, and 1675 coal miners were surveyed by questionnaire. The status of occupational stress, mental health and MSDs among coal miners was investigated by means of the Effort-Reward Imbalance questionnaire (ERI), Symptom Checklist-90(SCL-90), and Musculoskeletal disorders scale (MSDs) questionnaire. RESULTS The prevalence of MSDs among coal miners was higher, and there were statistical differences among different sexes, ages, working years, shifts, types of work, educational level and monthly income (P < 0.001). The prevalence of MSDs in different body parts in the occupational stress group and mental disorder group was higher than that in the normal group. The results of multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that females had an increased risk of developing MSDs (OR = 2.23, 95% CI.:1.50,3.33). The risk of MSDs was higher with age < 30 years (30-39 years,OR = 2.39, 95% CI.,1.68,3.40; 40-49 years,OR = 2.15, 95% CI.:1.52,3.04; 50-60 years:OR = 3.25, 95% CI.:2.09,5.07), and the longer the working years, the higher the risk of MSDs (OR = 1.90, 95% CI.:1.38,2.62). The two shifts group (OR = 2.18, 95% CI.:1.59,2.98) had an increased risk of developing MSDs compared with the fixed day shift group. The risk of MSDs was lower in heading drivers (OR = 0.41, 95% CI.:0.29,0.60,) and transport workers (OR = 0.30, 95% CI.:0.20,0.43). The higher the education level, the lower the risk of MSDs (high school: OR = 0.46, 95% CI.:0.34,0.62, junior college and above: OR = 0.12, 95% CI.:0.08,0.17), and the higher the monthly income, the lower the risk of MSDs (OR = 0.50, 95% CI.:0.34,0.74). Occupational stress (OR = 1.32, 95% CI.:1.05,1.67) and mental disorder(OR = 2.94, 95% CI.:2.25,3.84) increased the risk of MSDs. A Bayesian network diagram showed that occupational stress and MSDs have direct effects on mental disorders, and occupational stress can have indirect effects on mental disorders through MSDs. CONCLUSION Our research shows that MSDs are common among coal miners. Occupational stress and psychological disorders can increase the incidence of MSDs.

Abstract
Healthcare professionals are the most vulnerable to stress among all occupational groups due to the nature of their work environment. The aim of this study is to determine the level of stress and associated factors among healthcare workers in Western Ghana. The study employed a cross-sectional design with self-administered questionnaires. The results show that 69.5% of the respondents were stressed. Prevalence of stress was higher among female respondents than males. We found that 40.4 % of respondents intend to change work as a result of stress faced at their work places. Respondents aged 56≥ were more (3.16) likely to be stressed than those in the other age groups. We found a significant association between age, marital status, workload and educational background and stress levels among the respondents. The management of these healthcare institutions and their stakeholders must adopt strategies to help health workers cope with the stress they encounter.

Abstract
The first case of atypical pneumonia caused by coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) was reported in Wuhan, China in December 2019. Since then, cases of novel coronavirus-infected pneumonia (NCIP) have been reported throughout China as well as in 25 other countries. With the rapid growth of this global outbreak, psychological disorders or impact among the healthcare nurses caused by the COVID-19 pandemic is of great importance and worth to be evaluated. Here, we aimed to determine the levels of stress and psychological disorders of nurses who provided nursing care during the COVID-19 outbreak. A total of 159 nurses who provided healthcare work for COVID-19 patients were enrolled in our study. The psychological disorders and stress level were assessed via a questionnaire implemented by the mobile app. The results showed that the nurses who worked in the non-critical care ward (general ward in which the invasive medical procedure such as mechanical ventilation is absent) scored significantly higher on the traumatization condition (P < .05) and stress level (P < .01) as well as the impact of event scale -revised level (P < .01) compared with those worked in the critical care ward. In contrast to the previous report, our findings revealed that the future intervention for preventing the mental crisis among the healthcare nurses needs to be focusing on the individuals in the non-critical care ward instead of those in the critical care ward under the spreading of COVID-19.
