Abstract
As the pandemic progressed, the incidence of viruses among children also increased. This study investigates the presence of oral lesions in hospitalized children by analyzing data collected from medical records of infants seen at the pediatric Infectious disease unit at the General Hospital of the University of Pernambuco, Recife, Brazil, from March to August 2020. This study includes children aged 0 to 12 years diagnosed with severe symptoms of COVID-19. The data describe the frequencies and percentages of categorical variables, expressed as mean, median, and standard deviation. The chi-square test evaluated the association of oral manifestations according to the presence of comorbidities. Of 89 children, 20.2% had oral manifestations, and mucositis was the most prevalent lesion (12.4%). Of the 18 children with oral manifestations, 12 did not present comorbidities, but 7.9% had multisystem inflammatory syndrome and 5.6% had Kawasaki disease. Results show that children with oral lesions had longer hospital stays. These findings indicate the need for further studies to clarify the relationship between the oral manifestations of COVID-19 in pediatric patients for screening of the virus by dentists.

Abstract
INTRODUÇÃO: A potencial associação da COVID-19 com fenômenos inflamatórios e autoimunes abre um novo capítulo na prática clínica. Entre várias condições inflamatórias descritas no pós-COVID-19, destacam-se a doença de Kawasaki e uma nova afecção denominada síndrome inflamatória multissistêmica.OBJETIVOS: Revisar, de forma prática e concisa, conceito e critérios diagnósticos da síndrome inflamatória multisistêmica, as sobreposições com a doença de Kawasaki, assim como a imunopatogênese e o tratamento desta nova e intrigante enfermidade.MÉTODOS: Revisão da literatura disponível na base de dados Pubmed, com ênfase em revisões sistemáticas com metaanálises.RESULTADOS: A síndrome inflamatória multisistêmica se configura como uma condição hiperinflamatória multiorgânica pós-viral. A condição é primordialmente pediátrica, e os primeiros casos foram descritos na Inglaterra em maio de 2020. Os critérios diagnósticos são ainda imprecisos, e incluem algumas manifestações doença de Kawasaki-símiles. A síndrome inflamatória multisistêmica difere da doença de Kawasaki, entretanto, por geralmente acometer crianças acima cinco anos e de raças negras ou hispânicas; em termos clínicos, se distingue pela alta frequência de gastroenteropatia, miocardiopatia e choque. O diagnóstico diferencial inclui sepse bacteriana, síndrome de ativação macrofágica e formas sistêmicas de artrite reumatoide. Uma hiperexpressão de interferons e de outras citocinas inflamatórias caracteriza patogenicamente a síndrome inflamatória mulsistêmica. A enfermidade é, via de regra, responsiva a cuidados de terapia intensiva, corticóides, imunoglobulina intravenosa e imunobiológicos.CONCLUSÕES: A síndrome inflamatória multisistêmica é uma nova e complexa afecção hiperinflamatória associada à exposição prévia ao SARS-CoV-2. Apresenta instigantes interfaces com a doença de Kawasaki. Apesar da descrição recente, a literatura já é quantitativamente robusta, e algumas pendências de imunopatogênese, critérios diagnósticos e terapêutica deverão ser esclarecidas em breve.

Abstract
We describe a 7-year-old child with multisystemic inflammatory syndrome that was temporarily associated with the novel coronavirus disease which evolved into serious illness, with coronary aneurysm, using human immunoglobulin and acetylsalicylic acid, in which clinical manifestations including hepatitis, convulsions, and coma were aggravated with Reye's syndrome. To date, there has been no report of the association of multisystemic inflammatory syndrome that is temporarily associated with the novel coronavirus disease and Reye's syndrome.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To present scientific evidence based on a systematic literature review (PRISMA) evaluating the association of Kawasaki Disease (DK) and COVID-19 in children. METHODS For the selection of studies, a combination based on the Medical Subject Heading Terms (MeSH) was used. The Medline (Pubmed), LILACS, SciELO, COCHRANE, and BIREME databases were used. The search period for the articles comprised the last 10 years (2010 to 2020). RESULTS 840 articles with potential for inclusion were retrieved, one of which met the inclusion criteria and the guiding question that consisted of evaluating the association of Kawasaki disease and COVID-19 in children. CONCLUSION A significant increase in the incidence of Kawasaki-type diseases after the onset of the epidemic has been reported, suggesting an association between the COVID-19 epidemic and the high incidence of a severe form of KD. However, further studies are needed to conduct an investigation of the association between these two diseases.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the current scientific literature to document, in an integrative
review, the main findings that correlate Kawasaki disease (KD) to
COVID-19. Data sources: The search was carried out in June 2020 in the following databases:
Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS), periódico da
CAPES and U.S National Library of Medicine (PubMed). The
combination of descriptors used was [(COVID-19 OR SARS-CoV-2) AND (Kawasaki
disease)], and the inclusion criteria stipulated were studies published from
January 2019 to June 2020, without restriction of language or location, and
available online in full. News, editorials, comments, and letters, as well
as duplicates and articles that did not answer the guiding question were
excluded. Data synthesis: A total of 97 articles were identified, of which seven comprised this
review. The association of KD to the new coronavirus appears to trigger a
severe clinical condition of vasculitis. Different from the usual, in this
inflammatory syndrome, patients are older, and prevalence is higher in
children from African or Caribbean ancestry; clinical and laboratory
manifestations are also atypical, with a predominance of abdominal
complaints and exaggerated elevation of inflammatory markers. In addition,
there was a greater report of rare complications and greater resistance to
the recommended treatment for KD. Conclusions: Pediatric COVID-19 and its potential association to severe KD, still
unfamiliar to health professionals, reinforces the importance of testing
patients with vasculitis for the new coronavirus and the need to wage high
surveillance and preparation of the health system during the current
pandemic.

Abstract
Kawasaki disease (KD) is an acute febrile vasculitis of an unknown cause. It affects children <5 year of age, even if cases over 5 years old have been also reported. It is the commonest cause of acquired heart diseases in children which may lead to serious morbidity and mortality. The complications and mortality increase when the diagnosis is delayed. One of the main reasons leading to delayed diagnosis and consequent delayed treatment is the unusual presentation of KD. Its unusual manifestations have been increasingly reported to jeopardize the timely diagnosis and proper treatment. As there is not yet available blood test to diagnose it, low threshold should be taken into account for considering KD, when the clinical criteria are not typical. KD with renal manifestations is infrequently described. We present and discuss a case of an unusual presentation of KD presenting as bloody diarrhea and acute renal failure.

Abstract
Reports of child abuse have increased significantly. The matter makes most physicians uncomfortable for two reasons: a) Little guidance or no training in recognizing the problem; b - Not understanding its true dimension. The most common form of child violence is physical abuse. The skin is the largest and frequently the most traumatized organ. Bruises and burns are the most visible signs. Physicians (pediatricians, general practitioners and dermatologists) are the first professionals to observe and recognize the signs of intentional injury. Dermatologists particularly, can help distinguish intentional injury from accidental, or from skin diseases that mimic maltreatment.

Abstract
Although it is known that obesity, diabetes, and Kawasaki's disease play important roles in systemic inflammation and in the development of both endothelial dysfunction and cardiomyopathy, there is a lack of data regarding the endothelial function of pre-pubertal children suffering from cardiomyopathy. In this study, we performed a systematic review of the literature on pre-pubertal children at risk of developing cardiomyopathy to assess the endothelial function of pre-pubertal children at risk of developing cardiomyopathy. We searched the published literature indexed in PubMed, Bireme and SciELO using the keywords 'endothelial', 'children', 'pediatric' and 'infant' and then compiled a systematic review. The end points were age, the pubertal stage, sex differences, the method used for the endothelial evaluation and the endothelial values themselves. No studies on children with cardiomyopathy were found. Only 11 papers were selected for our complete analysis, where these included reports on the flow-mediated percentage dilatation, the values of which were 9.80±1.80, 5.90±1.29, 4.50±0.70, and 7.10±1.27 for healthy, obese, diabetic and pre-pubertal children with Kawasaki's disease, respectively. There was no significant difference in the dilatation, independent of the endothelium, either among the groups or between the genders for both of the measurements in children; similar results have been found in adolescents and adults. The endothelial function in cardiomyopathic children remains unclear because of the lack of data; nevertheless, the known dysfunctions in children with obesity, type 1 diabetes and Kawasaki's disease may influence the severity of the cardiovascular symptoms, the prognosis, and the mortality rate. The results of this study encourage future research into the consequences of endothelial dysfunction in pre-pubertal children.
