Abstract
PURPOSE The number of patients presenting with vaccination-related cardiovascular symptoms after receiving mRNA vaccines (mRNA-VRCS) is increasing. We investigated the incidence of vaccine-related adverse events (VAEs), including myocarditis and pericarditis, in patients with mRNA-VRCS after receiving BNT162b2-Pfizer-BioNTech and mRNA-1273-Moderna vaccines. MATERIALS AND METHODS We retrospectively collected data on patients presenting with mRNA-VRCS who visited the outpatient clinic of two tertiary medical centers. Clinical characteristics, laboratory findings, echocardiographic findings, and electrocardiographic findings were evaluated. VAE was defined as myocarditis or pericarditis in patients after mRNA vaccination. Clinical outcomes during short-term follow-up, including emergency room (ER) visit, hospitalization, or death, were also assessed among the patients. RESULTS A total of 952 patients presenting with mRNA-VRCS were included in this study, with 89.7% receiving Pfizer-BioNTech and 10.3% receiving Moderna vaccines. The mean duration from vaccination to symptom was 5.6±7.5 days. VAEs, including acute myocarditis and acute pericarditis, were confirmed in 11 (1.2%) and 10 (1.1%) patients, respectively. The VAE group showed higher rates of dyspnea, echocardiography changes, and ST-T segment changes. During the short-term follow-up period of 3 months, the VAE group showed a higher hospitalization rate compared to the control group; there was no significant difference in ER visit (p=0.320) or mortality rates (p>0.999). CONCLUSION Amongst the patients who experienced mRNA-VRCS, the total incidence of VAEs, including acute myocarditis and pericarditis, was 2.2%. Patients with VAEs showed higher rates of dyspnea, echocardiographic changes, and ST-T segment changes compared to those without VAEs. With or without the cardiovascular events, the prognosis in patients with mRNA-VRCS was favorable.

Abstract
This study aims to evaluate the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) as a predictive biomarker for cardiovascular mortality among cancer patients, utilizing data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). From the NHANES dataset (2007-2018), we analyzed 4974 cancer survivors, investigating the prognostic significance of NLR for all-cause, cardiovascular, and cancer-specific mortality. Survival outcomes were analyzed using Cox regression and Kaplan-Meier methods. Optimal NLR cutoffs were identified as 2.61 for differentiating the higher NLR group from lower NLR group. Elevated NLR levels significantly correlated with increased all-cause mortality (HR 1.11, 95% CI 1.07-1.14, P < 0.001) and cardiovascular mortality (HR 1.14, 95% CI 1.08-1.21, P < 0.001) in adjusted models. Subgroup analyses revealed that age, sex, smoking status, and hypertension significantly influence NLR's association with cardiovascular mortality. Specific cancers including breast, prostate, non-melanoma skin, colon and melanoma experience increased all-cause and cardiovascular mortality in the higher NLR group compared to lower NLR group. Elevated NLR is a significant predictor of increased mortality in cancer patients, particularly for cardiovascular outcomes. These findings support that NLR acts as a pivotal prognostic tool with significant implications for clinical practice in the realm of cardio-oncology.

Abstract
COVID-19 is associated with various cardiovascular complications, including arrhythmias. This study investigated the incidence of new-onset atrial fibrillation (AFB) and atrial flutter (AFL) in COVID-19 patients and identified potential risk factors. We conducted a retrospective cohort study at a tertiary-care safety-net community hospital including 647 patients diagnosed with COVID-19 from March 2020 to March 2021. Patients with a prior history of AFB or AFL were excluded. Data on demographics, clinical characteristics, and outcomes were collected and analyzed using chi-square tests, t-tests, and binary logistic regression. We found that 69 patients (10.66%) developed AFB or AFL, with 41 patients (6.34%) experiencing new-onset arrhythmias. The incidence rates for new-onset AFB and AFL were 5.4% and 0.9%, respectively. Older age (≥65 years) was significantly associated with new-onset AFB/AFL (OR: 5.43; 95% CI: 2.31-12.77; p < 0.001), as was the development of sepsis (OR: 2.73; 95% CI: 1.31-5.70; p = 0.008). No significant association was found with patient sex. Our findings indicate that new-onset atrial arrhythmias are a significant complication in COVID-19 patients, particularly among the elderly and those with sepsis. This highlights the need for targeted monitoring and management strategies to mitigate the burden of atrial arrhythmias in high-risk populations during COVID-19 infection.

Abstract
Post-discharge re-positivity of Omicron SARS-CoV-2 is challenging for the sufficient control of this pandemic. However, there are few studies about the risk of re-positivity. We aimed to explore the association of neutralizing antibodies (nAbs, AU/mL) with the incidence of re-positivity among patients recovered from COVID-19. A retrospective cohort study selected 318 Omicron-infected patients was conducted in China between December 2021 and April 2022. The peak value of nAb levels (nAb-peak) within 14 days of disease onset was defined as the baseline and was mainly used for the subsequent analyses. In the unadjusted, minimally adjusted, fully adjusted, and additionally adjusted for IgG models, a per-standard deviation (SD) increase in the nAb-peak values was significantly associated with a 59 %, 59 %, 50 %, and 75 % decreased risk of Omicron SARS-CoV-2 re-positivity during post-discharge surveillance, respectively. Stratified analyses showed no significant changes in the relationship between nAbs and re-positivity. Our study suggested that the increase in baseline nAb levels independently associated with a low risk of re-positivity in patients recovered from COVID-19.

Abstract
Background: Acute cardiac injury (ACI) after COVID-19 has been linked with unfavorable clinical outcomes, but data on the clinical impact of elevated cardiac troponin on discharge during follow-up are scarce. Our objective is to elucidate the clinical outcome of patients with elevated troponin on discharge after surviving a COVID-19 hospitalization. Methods: We conducted an analysis in the prospective registry HOPE-2 (NCT04778020). Only patients discharged alive were selected for analysis, and all-cause death on follow-up was considered as the primary endpoint. As a secondary endpoint, we established any long-term COVID-19 symptoms. HOPE-2 stopped enrolling patients on 31 December 2021, with 9299 patients hospitalized with COVID-19, of which 1805 were deceased during the acute phase. Finally, 2382 patients alive on discharge underwent propensity score matching by relevant baseline variables in a 1:3 fashion, from 56 centers in 8 countries. Results: Patients with elevated troponin experienced significantly higher all-cause death during follow-up (log-rank = 27.23, p < 0.001), and had a higher chance of experiencing long-term COVID-19 cardiovascular symptoms. Specifically, fatigue and dyspnea (57.7% and 62.8%, with p-values of 0.009 and <0.001, respectively) are among the most common. Conclusions: After surviving the acute phase, patients with elevated troponin on discharge present increased mortality and long-term COVID-19 symptoms over time, which is clinically relevant in follow-up visits.

Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the changing trends, level differences, and prognostic performance of the leukocyte and lymphocyte levels of patients infected with the Wild strains, Delta strains and Omicron strains to provide a reference for prognostic assessment. In the current study, we conducted a retrospective cross-sectional study to evaluate the changing trends, level differences, and prognostic performance of leukocyte and lymphocyte of different strains at admission and discharge may already exist in patients with coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) infected with the Wild type, Delta, and Omicron strains. A retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted. We recruited and screened the 243 cases infected with the Wild-type strains in Wuhan, the 629 cases infected with the Delta and 116 cases infected strains with the Omicron strains in Xi'an. The leukocyte and lymphocyte levels were compared the cohort of Wild-type infection with the cohort of Delta and the Omicron. The changes in the levels of leukocytes and lymphocytes exhibit a completely opposite trend in patients with COVID-19 infected with the different strains. The lymphocyte level at admission and discharge in patients with COVID-19 infected with Omicron strains (area under curve [AUC] receiver operating characteristic curve [ROC] 72.8-90.2%, 82.8-97.2%) presented better performance compared patients with COVID-19 infected with Wild type strains (AUC ROC 60.9-80.7%, 82.3-97.2%) and Delta strains (AUC ROC 56.1-84.7%, 40.3-93.3%). Kaplan-Meier curves showed that the leukocyte levels above newly established cutoff values and the lymphocyte levels below newly established cutoff values had a significantly higher risk of in-hospital mortality in COVID-19 patients with Wild-type and Omicron strains (P < .01). The levels of leukocyte and lymphocyte at admission and discharge in patients with COVID-19 infected with the Wild type, Delta, and Omicron strains may be differences among strains, which indicates different death risks. Our research may help clinicians identify patients with a poor prognosis for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 infection.

Abstract
Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), the virus responsible for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, uses the surface angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) receptor as the site of entry into host cardiac, respiratory, intestinal, renal, and nervous system cells. Predisposing risk factors such as cardiovascular disease increase the risk of developing severe disease. Hypertension is characterized by the stimulation of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS). Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEis) and angiotensin 2 receptor blockers (ARBs), medications used to treat hypertension, inhibit RAAS and its downstream effects; however, they have also been shown to upregulate ACE2 receptors. In this review, we aim to evaluate the effectiveness of ACEi/ARBs as an adjunct therapy in patients with SARS-CoV-2 as well as examine the possible protective effects and impact on infection rate and disease severity. A PubMed literature search excluding sources outside the United States and duplicates was performed using the following search criteria: "COVID-19 AND cardiovascular disease AND ACEi AND ARB", "SARS-COVID-19 OR COVID-19, AND ACEi AND ARB AND Infection rate", "COVID-19 AND ACEi and ARB", "Omicron BA.1 and BA.2 AND ACE2 OR ARBs", "Omicron AND ACEi AND ARBs". This resulted in 33 final sources. The review concluded that ACEi/ARB therapy may continue to improve COVID-19 survival as previous treatment is associated with positive clinical outcomes. Patients taking ACEis or ARBs were found to have a decreased risk of hospitalization, reduced severity of COVID-19 pneumonia, a lesser need for mechanical ventilation, and an overall reduction in mortality rate. No statistically significant association between ACEi/ARB use and enhanced COVID-19 infectivity was found. The Omicron variant is theoretically more infectious and was associated with increased negative clinical outcomes in those undertreated with ACEis/ARBs. The majority of the literature supports the current guidelines from the American College of Cardiology (ACC), American Heart Association (AHA), European Society of Cardiology (ESC), and Heart Failure Society of America (HFSA), which state that ACEi and ARB medications should not be withdrawn from or initiated on patients with cardiovascular disease who are infected with SARS-CoV-2. More research needs to be conducted on the association between the emerging COVID-19 variants and ACEis/ARBs to give clinicians confidence when treating patients within this subgroup of the population.

Abstract
Cancer patients with COVID-19 have a higher infection rate and mortality rate than non-cancer patients. However, there are few studies on the correlation between the serum C-reactive protein (CRP) and cancer patients with COVID-19. This study aims to investigate the association between serum CRP and the incidence of COVID-19 pneumonia in cancer patients at the end of 2022 in China. This cross-sectional study with a retrospective cohort between December 2022 and February 2023 assessed cancer patients complicated with COVID-19 infection in 2 Chinese institutions. Logistic regression analyses were used to compute Odds ratio (OR) and 95%CIs for the association between serum CRP and the incidence of COVID-19 pneumonia in cancer patients. A total of 213 cancer patients with COVID-19 were enrolled. Eighty-six patients (40.4%) developed COVID-19 pneumonia, among which 23 patients (10.8%) progressed to severe cases. Univariate Logistic regression showed that high CRP levels were found to be an unfavorable predictor of COVID-19 outcomes (OR = 17.9, 95%CI: 7.3, 43.6; P < .001). In the multivariate analysis, high CRP levels were associated with a higher incidence rate of COVID-19 pneumonia (OR = 9.8, 95%CI: 2.2, 43.8; P = .003). In the multivariate logistic regression model and smooth curve fitting, we found a correlation between CRP and COVID-19 pneumonia. The serum CRP was associated with the incidence of Omicron variant COVID- 19 pneumonia in cancer patients. Hence, cancer patients with high CRP level maybe need for timely computer tomography examination and more aggressive treatment.

Abstract
Objective The purpose of this study was to clarify the concept of transitional care in patients with heart failure. Background Transitional care is increasingly being applied in patients with heart failure, but the concept of transitional care in heart failure patients is not uniform and confused with other definitions, which limits further research and practice on transitional care for these patients. Design Rodgers' evolutionary concept analysis. Methods A comprehensive literature search was conducted using the PUBMED, EMBASE, EBSCO, Chinese Biological Medicine (CBM), CNKI, and WANFANG databases (up to January 26, 2023). We used Rodgers' evolutionary concept analysis method to identify related concepts, attributes, antecedents, and consequences of transitional care in patients with heart failure. Results A total of 33 articles were included. The following attributes belonging to transitional care in patients with heart failure were extracted from the literature: self-care, multidisciplinary collaboration, and information transmission. The antecedents were patients' health status, the health literacy of patients and caregivers, the role functions of the main implementer and social and medical resources. Consequences were separated into two categories: patient-centered health outcomes (all-cause mortality, health-related quality of life, discharge preparedness, self-care behaviors, satisfaction of patients) and healthcare utilization outcomes (hospital readmission, length of hospital stay, emergency department visits). Conclusion This study found that transitional care in heart failure patients is a systemic care process during a vulnerable period that improves patient self-management and coordination between hospital resources and social support systems for continuous management to promote smooth patient transitions between different locations. This concept analysis will inform healthcare providers in designing evidence-based interventions and quality improvement strategies to ensure that transition processes lead to desired outcomes. In addition, this study will also be helpful for developing specific assessment tools to identify patients with HF who need transitional care.

Abstract
BACKGROUND During the last decade, a number of clinical scores, such as Gender-Age-Physiology (GAP) Index, TORVAN Score and Charlson Comorbidity Index (CCI), have been separately used to measure comorbidity burden in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). However, no previous study compared the prognostic value of these scores to assess mortality risk stratification in IPF patients with mild-to-moderate disease. METHODS All consecutive patients with mild-to-moderate IPF who underwent high-resolution computed tomography, spirometry, transthoracic echocardiography and carotid ultrasonography at our Institution, between January 2016 and December 2018, were retrospectively analyzed. GAP Index, TORVAN Score and CCI were calculated in all patients. Primary endpoint was all-cause mortality, whereas secondary endpoint was the composite of all-cause mortality and rehospitalizations for all-causes, over medium-term follow-up. RESULTS Seventy IPF patients (70.2±7.4 yrs, 74.3% males) were examined. At baseline, GAP Index, TORVAN Score and CCI were 3.4±1.1, 14.7±4.1 and 5.3±2.4, respectively. A strong correlation between coronary artery calcification (CAC) and common carotid artery (CCA) intima-media thickness (IMT) (r=0.88), CCI and CAC (r=0.80), CCI and CCA-IMT (r=0.81), was demonstrated in the study group. Follow-up period was 3.5±1.2 years. During follow-up, 19 patients died and 32 rehospitalizations were detected. CCI (HR 2.39, 95% CI: 1.31-4.35) and heart rate (HR 1.10, 95% CI: 1.04-1.17) were independently associated with primary endpoint. CCI (HR 1.54, 95% CI: 1.15-2.06) predicted secondary endpoint, also. A CCI ≥6 was the optimal cut-off for predicting both outcomes. CONCLUSIONS Due to the increased atherosclerotic and comorbidity burden, IPF patients with CCI ≥6 at an early-stage disease have poor outcome over medium-term follow-up.

Abstract
BACKGROUND During the last few years, increasing focus has been placed on heart failure with mildly reduced ejection fraction (HFmrEF), an intermediate phenotype from preserved to reduced ejection fraction (EF). However, clinical features and outcome of HFmrEF in elderly patients aged ≥ 70 yrs have been poorly investigated. METHODS The present study retrospectively included all consecutive patients aged ≥ 70 yrs discharged from our Institution with a first diagnosis of HFmrEF, between January 2020 and November 2020. All patients underwent transthoracic echocardiography. The primary outcome was all-cause mortality, while the secondary one was the composite of all-cause mortality + rehospitalization for all causes over a mid-term follow-up. RESULTS The study included 107 HFmrEF patients (84.3 ± 7.4 yrs, 61.7% females). Patients were classified as "old" (70-84 yrs, n = 55) and "oldest-old" (≥ 85 yrs, n = 52) and separately analyzed. As compared to the "oldest-old" patients, the "old" ones were more commonly males (58.2% vs 17.3%, p < 0.001), with history of coronary artery disease (CAD) (54.5% vs 15.4%, p < 0.001) and significantly lower EF (43.5 ± 2.7% vs 47.3 ± 3.6%, p < 0.001) at hospital admission. Mean follow-up was 1.8 ± 1.1 yrs. During follow-up, 29 patients died and 45 were re-hospitalized. Male sex (HR 6.71, 95% CI 1.59-28.4), history of CAD (HR 5.37, 95% CI 2.04-14.1) and EF (HR 0.48, 95% CI 0.34-0.68) were independently associated with all-cause mortality in the whole study population. EF also predicted the composite of all-cause mortality + rehospitalization for all causes. EF < 45% was the best cut-off value to predict both outcomes. CONCLUSIONS EF at hospital admission is independently associated with all-cause mortality and rehospitalization for all causes in elderly HFmrEF patients over a mid-term follow-up.

Abstract
Interleukin-10 (IL-10) is a pleiotropic cytokine that has a fundamental role in modulating inflammation and in maintaining cell homeostasis. It primarily acts as an anti-inflammatory cytokine, protecting the body from an uncontrolled immune response, mostly through the Jak1/Tyk2 and STAT3 signaling pathway. On the other hand, IL-10 can also have immunostimulating functions under certain conditions. Given the pivotal role of IL-10 in immune modulation, this cytokine could have relevant implications in pathologies characterized by hyperinflammatory state, such as cancer, or infectious diseases as in the case of COVID-19 and Post-COVID-19 syndrome. Recent evidence proposed IL-10 as a predictor of severity and mortality for patients with acute or post-acute SARS-CoV-2 infection. In this context, IL-10 can act as an endogenous danger signal, released by tissues undergoing damage in an attempt to protect the organism from harmful hyperinflammation. Pharmacological strategies aimed to potentiate or restore IL-10 immunomodulatory action may represent novel promising avenues to counteract cytokine storm arising from hyperinflammation and effectively mitigate severe complications. Natural bioactive compounds, derived from terrestrial or marine photosynthetic organisms and able to increase IL-10 expression, could represent a useful prevention strategy to curb inflammation through IL-10 elevation and will be discussed here. However, the multifaceted nature of IL-10 has to be taken into account in the attempts to modulate its levels.

Abstract
We sought to divide COVID-19 patients into distinct phenotypical subgroups using echocardiography and clinical markers to elucidate the pathogenesis of the disease and its heterogeneous cardiac involvement. A total of 506 consecutive patients hospitalized with COVID-19 infection underwent complete evaluation, including echocardiography, at admission. A k-prototypes algorithm applied to patients' clinical and imaging data at admission partitioned the patients into four phenotypical clusters: Clusters 0 and 1 were younger and healthier, 2 and 3 were older with worse cardiac indexes, and clusters 1 and 3 had a stronger inflammatory response. The clusters manifested very distinct survival patterns (C-index for the Cox proportional hazard model 0.77), with survival best for cluster 0, intermediate for 1-2 and worst for 3. Interestingly, cluster 1 showed a harsher disease course than cluster 2 but with similar survival. Clusters obtained with echocardiography were more predictive of mortality than clusters obtained without echocardiography. Additionally, several echocardiography variables (E' lat, E' sept, E/e average) showed high discriminative power among the clusters. The results suggested that older infected males have a higher chance to deteriorate than older infected females. In conclusion, COVID-19 manifests differently for distinctive clusters of patients. These clusters reflect different disease manifestations and prognoses. Although including echocardiography improved the predictive power, its marginal contribution over clustering using clinical parameters only does not justify the burden of echocardiography data collection.

Abstract
ObjectivesTo investigate the associations between the overall burden of comorbidity, inflammatory indicators in plasma and Ct values among the elderly with COVID-19.MethodsWe conducted a retrospective observational study. The results of each nucleic acid test of during hospitalization were obtained. Linear regression models assessed the associations between the overall burden of comorbidity, inflammatory indicators in plasma and Ct values among the elderly. A causal mediation analysis was performed to assess the mediation effects of inflammatory indicators on the association between the overall burden of comorbidity and Ct values.ResultsA total of 767 COVID-19 patients aged ≥ 60 years were included between April 2022 and May 2022. Patients with a high burden of comorbidity had significantly lower Ct values of the ORF gene than subjects with a low burden of comorbidity (median, 24.81 VS 26.58, P < 0.05). Linear regression models showed that a high burden of comorbidity was significantly associated with higher inflammatory responses, including white blood cell count, neutrophil count and C-reactive protein. Also, white blood cell count, neutrophil count, C-reactive protein and the overall burden of comorbidity assessed by age-adjusted Charlson comorbidity index were independent risk factors for the Ct values. A mediation analysis detected the mediation effect of white blood cells on the association between the burden of comorbidity and Ct values, with the indirect effect estimates of 0.381 (95% CI: 0.166, 0.632, P < 0.001). Similarly, the indirect effect of C-reactive protein was -0.307 (95% CI: -0.645, -0.064, P = 0.034). White blood cells and C-reactive protein significantly mediated the relationship between the burden of comorbidity and Ct values by 29.56% and 18.13% of the total effect size, respectively.ConclusionsInflammation mediated the association between the overall burden of comorbidity and Ct values among elderly with COVID-19, which suggests that combined immunomodulatory therapies could reduce the Ct values for such patients with a high burden of comorbidity.

Abstract
Objective This study aimed to analyze the association between the activity of daily living (ADL), coronavirus disease (COVID-19), and the value of the Barthel Index in predicting the prognosis of patients. Methods This study included 398 patients with COVID-19, whose ADL at admission to hospital were assessed with the Barthel Index. The relationship between the index and the mortality risk of the patients was analyzed. Several regression models and a decision tree were established to evaluate the prognostic value of the index in COVID-19 patients. Results The Barthel Index scores of deceased patients were significantly lower than that of discharged patients (median: 65 vs. 90, P < 0.001), and its decrease indicated an increased risk of mortality in patients (P < 0.001). After adjusting models for age, gender, temperature, pulse, respiratory rate, mean arterial pressure, oxygen saturation, etc., the Barthel Index could still independently predict prognosis (OR = 0.809; 95% CI: 0.750-0.872). The decision tree showed that patients with a Barthel Index of below 70 had a higher mortality rate (33.3-40.0%), while those above 90 were usually discharged (mortality: 2.7-7.2%). Conclusion The Barthel Index is of prognostic value for mortality in COVID-19 patients. According to their Barthel Index, COVID-19 patients can be divided into emergency, observation, and normal groups (0-70; 70-90; 90-100), with different treatment strategies.

Abstract
Long COVID or post-acute Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), a malady defined by the persistence of COVID-19 symptoms for weeks or even months, is expected to affect the lives of millions of individuals worldwide significantly. Cardiopulmonary symptoms such as chest discomfort, shortness of breath, fatigue, and autonomic manifestations such as postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, and arrhythmias are prevalent and widely recognized. A variety of cardiovascular problems, including myocardial inflammation, myocardial infarction, ventricular dysfunction, and endothelial dysfunction, have been described in individuals following the initial acute phase. With over 10,000 published publications on COVID-19 and the cardiovascular system, presenting an unbiased thorough analysis of how SARS-CoV-2 affects the system is essentially challenging. This review will provide an overview of frequent cardiovascular manifestations, emphasizing consequences, proposed pathophysiology, and clinical diagnostic manifestation strategy.

Abstract
Background: The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has put a constant strain on hospital resources, so there is a dire need for investigation methods that are widely available and that can predict mortality and the need for critical care. Hematological indices, which can be easily calculated from a complete blood count (CBC), are useful in determining a patient’s inflammatory response to infectious diseases. Aim: This was a prospective cohort study that aimed to assess the prognostic value of scores based on CBCs in hospitalized patients with mild or moderate COVID-19 and medical comorbidities regarding the need for intensive care unit (ICU) therapy and short-term mortality. Methods: We included 607 patients with confirmed COVID-19, followed up for the need for ICU admission (15.5%) and 30 day mortality post-discharge (21.7%). CBC-derived scores were tested upon emergency department (ED) admission and after a median of 8 days. Results: In a multivariate model, elevated followed-up neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) predicted increased odds for ICU admission (OR: 1.14 [95%CI: 1.06−1.22], p < 0.001) and short-term mortality (OR: 1.30 [95%CI: 1.09−1.57], p = 0.005). Monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio (MLR) predicted 2.5-fold increased odds for ICU admission and 2.2-fold increased odds for mortality. Conclusion: NLR and MLR followed up 8 days post-admission are predictive for adverse outcomes in mild or moderate COVID-19 patients.
