Abstract
Vaccination has become the primary means for citizens to prevent severe morbidity and mortality during the pandemic. However, vaccine hesitancy poses a major threat to global public health security. Based on the data from Chinese General Social Survey in 2021, this study aims to explore the socio-political aspects of COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy, focusing on the relationship between COVID-19 risk perceptions, institutional trust and vaccine hesitancy. Among the samples, 39.8% of the respondents exhibited COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy, 48.9% had a high awareness of the risk of COVID-19, and 74.6% presented a high level of trust in institutions. The results showed that higher risk perception and institutional trust are negatively correlated with vaccine hesitancy (p < .001). Institutional trust had no statistically significant moderating effect on the association between risk perception and vaccine hesitancy, but the role of institutional trust in influencing vaccine hesitancy is more significant at a lower level of perceptions of COVID-19 risk. Furthermore, regional variations in the factors contributing to vaccine hesitancy were demonstrated in China. These findings have important implications for developing strategies to address vaccine hesitancy.

Abstract
BACKGROUND A full rollout of COVID-19 vaccination offers the most promising prospect of bringing the pandemic to an end. This study aimed to compare the coverage, safety, and confidence of COVID-19 vaccination between patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) and healthy individuals so as to give suggestions for future immunization programs. METHODS A web-based, nationwide, multicenter survey was carried out in China from 2021 to 2022. The age and sex-standardized vaccination rate was calculated. Multivariate stepwise logistic regression models were used to estimate the influencing factors of vaccination status. We also investigated vaccination safety, willingness, confidence, and reasons for hesitancy with some ad hoc questions. RESULTS A total of 962 PD patients and 1208 healthy individuals participated in this survey with a vaccination rate of 71.1% vs 94.4% respectively. PD patients living in first-tier cities, with comorbidities, experiencing unstable PD with a longer course and levodopa use were less likely to get vaccinated, while healthy individuals living in first-tier cities and feeling physically poor exhibited a lower vaccination rate. For PD patients, concern about the adverse impact on existing illness and disagreement from doctors were the most common reasons for vaccination hesitancy. Whereas, no evidence was present that they experienced any local or systematic adverse events more frequently or seriously than healthy individuals, or their state of PD and comorbidities was seriously exacerbated after vaccination. A prominent transition from a little concerned to unconcerned about the security and efficacy of vaccines was evident among both two populations from pre-vaccination to post-vaccination. CONCLUSIONS The COVID-19 vaccination rate was remarkably lower in PD patients than healthy individuals in China. The approved vaccines have shown an acceptable safety profile. Our findings would offer a reference to guide future clinical decision-making of COVID-19 vaccination and improve the immunization management of PD patients.

Abstract
Objective This study aimed to investigate the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination rate, reasons for vaccine hesitancy and clinical effects on patients with Takayasu's arteritis (TAK). Methods A web-based survey was administered to a TAK cohort established by the Department of Rheumatology, Zhongshan Hospital through WeChat in April, 2022. Responses from a total of 302 patients were received. The Sinovac or Sinopharm inactivated vaccination rate, side effects, and vaccine hesitancy reasons were analyzed. In addition, disease flare, new disease onset, and changes of immune-related parameters after vaccination were analyzed in vaccinated patients. Results Among 302 patients, 93 (30.79%) received the inactivated COVID-19 vaccination. Among the 209 unvaccinated patients, the most common reason for hesitancy were concern about side effects (136, 65.07%). Vaccinated patients had a longer disease duration (p = 0.08) and lower use of biologic agents (p < 0.001); 16 (17.20%) of the 93 vaccinated patients developed side effects, and most of them were mild; 8 (8.60%) developed disease flares or new-onset disease 12-128 days post-vaccination and 2 (2.15%) developed serious adverse effects (vision defect and cranial infarction). Immune-related parameters of 17 patients indicated decreases in IgA and IgM after vaccination (p < 0.05). Eighteen (19.35%) of the 93 vaccinated patients were diagnosed post-vaccination.These patients had a significantly higher percentage of CD19+ B cells at disease onset (p < 0.05) than the unvaccinated patients diagnosed at the same time. Conclusion The vaccination rate was low in TAK, which was mainly caused by concerns about negative effects of vaccination on their disease. An acceptable safety profile was observed in vaccinated patients. The risk of disease flare associated with COVID-19 vaccination warrants further investigation.

Abstract
Background Clinical manifestations of Parkinson's disease (PD) after Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection are poorly investigated. Objective We aimed to explore the clinical features and outcomes of hospitalized PD patients with COVID-19. Methods A total of 48 PD patients and 96 age-and sex-matched non-PD patients were included. Demographics, clinical characteristics and outcomes were compared between two groups. Results PD patients with COVID-19 were elderly (76.69 ± 9.21 years) with advanced stage (H-Y stage 3-5 as 65.3%). They had less clinical symptoms (nasal obstruction, etc.), more proportions of severe/critical COVID-19 clinical classification (22.9 vs. 1.0%, p < 0.001), receiving oxygen (29.2 vs. 11.5%, p = 0.011), antibiotics (39.6 vs. 21.9%, p = 0.031) therapies, as well as longer hospitalization duration (11.39 vs. 8.32, p = 0.001) and higher mortality (8.3% vs. 1.0%, p = 0.001) relative to those without PD. Laboratory results showed that the PD group had higher white blood cell counts (6.29 vs. 5.16*109, p = 0.001), neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (3.14 vs. 2.11, p < 0.001) and C-reactive protein level (12.34 vs. 3.19, p < 0.001). Conclusion PD patients with COVID-19 have insidious clinical manifestation, elevated proinflammatory markers and are prone to the development of severe/critical condition, contributing to a relatively poor prognosis. Early identification and active treatment of COVID-19 are pivotal to advanced PD patients during the pandemic.
