Abstract
Hospital pharmacy plays an important role in ensuring medical care quality and safety, especially in the area of drug information retrieval, therapy guidance, and drug-drug interaction management. ChatGPT is a powerful artificial intelligence language model that can generate natural-language texts. Here, we explored the applications and reflections of ChatGPT in hospital pharmacy, where it may enhance the quality and efficiency of pharmaceutical care. We also explored ChatGPT's prospects in hospital pharmacy and discussed its working principle, diverse applications, and practical cases in daily operations and scientific research. Meanwhile, the challenges and limitations of ChatGPT, such as data privacy, ethical issues, bias and discrimination, and human oversight, are discussed. ChatGPT is a promising tool for hospital pharmacy, but it requires careful evaluation and validation before it can be integrated into clinical practice. Some suggestions for future research and development of ChatGPT in hospital pharmacy are provided.

Abstract
Objectives Self-medication with antibiotics is common practice in many low- and middle-income countries (LMIC). This review synthesizes the qualitative evidence on influences on perceptions and practices in relation to self-medication by the public with antibiotics in LMIC. Methods A systematic search was conducted of relevant medical, international and social science databases. Searching, screening, data extraction and quality appraisal followed standard methods. A meta-ethnographic approach was used for synthesis, starting with translation of studies and using a line-of-argument approach to develop the final themes. Results The search identified 78 eligible studies. Antibiotics were understood as a powerful, potentially dangerous but effective medicine for treating infections. This perception was strongly influenced by the common experience of being prescribed antibiotics for infections, both individually and collectively. This contributed to an understanding of antibiotics as a rational treatment for infection symptoms that was sanctioned by medical authorities. Accessing antibiotics from medical professionals was often difficult logistically and financially. In contrast, antibiotics were readily available over the counter from local outlets. People viewed treating infection symptoms with antibiotics as rational practice, although they were concerned about the risks to the individual and only took them when they believed they were needed. Conclusions A new model to explain self-medication with antibiotics is presented. This uses the socio-ecological model to integrate influences that operate at individual, community and wider socioeconomic levels, drawing on theories of medical authority and the medicalization and commercialization of health. Interventions to reduce overuse of antibiotics in LMIC need to address both clinical practice and community self-medication practices together.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Antibiotic resistance rates remain high in China where antibiotics are widely used for common illnesses. This study aimed to investigate the influences on people's decisions on treatment and antibiotic use for common illnesses in eastern China. METHODS Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 29 patients recruited through convenience sampling between July 2020 and January 2021 in one hospital in County A in Zhejiang Province, and one hospital and one village clinic in County B in Jiangsu Province, respectively. All interviews were audio-recorded, transcribed verbatim and thematically analysed. This study is nested in a larger interdisciplinary mixed method project and we also compared our qualitative findings with quantitative results from a household survey conducted as part of this wider project. RESULTS Participants' decisions about treatment-seeking and antibiotic use for common illnesses were found to be influenced by four interactive domains. (i) Self-evaluation of illness severity: Participants tend to self-treat minor conditions with ordinary medicines first and do not resort to antibiotics unless the condition worsens or is considered inflammation- related. Visiting healthcare facilities is seen as the final option. (ii) Access to and trust in care: These treatment-seeking practices are also associated with the perception, in contrast with retail pharmacies, hospitals provide professional and trustworthy care but are difficult to access, and hence require visiting only for severe illness. (iii) Prior experience: previous medical treatment and experiences of self-medication also influence participants' treatment decisions including the use of antibiotics. (iv) Medication characteristics: Participants view antibiotics as powerful medicines with harms and risks, requiring consumers to carefully trade off benefits and harms before use. CONCLUSIONS People's treatment decisions in relation to antibiotic use in eastern China are influenced by an interplay of lay conceptual models of illnesses and antibiotics and broader organisational, social, and contextual factors. Interventions focusing on individual education to incorporate biomedical knowledge into lay understandings, and reducing situational and social incentives for self-medicating with antibiotics by strengthening access to quality professional care, would be helpful in promoting antibiotic stewardship.

Abstract
This study described the knowledge, attitude, practice regarding antimicrobial resistance (AMR) among medical students between 2017 and 2022 in East China. A questionnaire-based survey was conducted with a total of 1,066 respondents. We highlighted that the undergraduates had a significant increase in the knowledge of antimicrobial resistance during the 5 years from 2017 to 2022 (p < 0.001). The majority of the assertions about the AMR were correctly identified by respondents. However, gaps were still observed in the issues of antimicrobial targets and bacterial transmission. In addition, overconfident attitudes and inappropriate behaviors of antimicrobial overuse and misuse were observed in the respondents. A number of 30.2% to 45.2% of the respondents asserted that there is no risk of AMR as long as the antimicrobials are taken correctly, and a proportion of the students (25.3% in 2022; 69.3% in 2017, p < 0.001) declared to buy antimicrobials from friends or family members to treat the same illness. Finally, spearman correlation coefficient was enrolled to compare the correlation of the student's KAP. Results showed that the students' knowledge of antimicrobials had a correlation with attitude (p = 0.0126) and practice (p < 0.001), suggesting that public education on knowledge could influence the behaviors among the medical students. Taken all together, our findings show a need to strengthen the medical students' cogitation on antimicrobial attitude and practice of appropriate usage as an essential strategy to reduce intractable public health problems. Additional curriculum reforms will be needed to add more specific AMR-related lectures to raise awareness amongst medical students in China.

Abstract
The outbreak of the novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has resulted in the increased human consumption of medicines. Antibiotics are of great concern due to their adverse effects, such as increased bacterial resistance and dysbiosis of gut microbiota. Nevertheless, very little is known about the changes in self-medication with antibiotics during the COVID-19 pandemic and the resultant potential health risks. Herein, we examined the concentration profiles of some commonly used antibiotics in human urine collected from several geographical regions in China between 2020 and 2021. Antibiotics were found in 99.2% of the urine samples at concentrations ranging from not detected (nd) to 357 000 (median: 10.2) ng/mL. During the COVID-19 pandemic, concentrations of urinary antibiotics were remarkably higher than those found either before the pandemic or in the smooth period of the pandemic. Moreover, elevated levels of antibiotics were determined in urine samples from the regions with more confirmed cases. The exposure assessment showed that hazard index values >1 were determined in 35.2% of people. These findings show that human exposure to antibiotics increased during the COVID-19 pandemic, and further research is imperative to identify the public health risks.

Abstract
The continuing rise in global antimicrobial resistance is seen by many governments and international organizations as a major threat to worldwide health. This means that many publications have already described the problems concerning the overuse of currently available antibiotics and potential solutions to this crisis, including the development of new alternatives to antibiotics. However, in this manuscript, the authors approach the subject of increasing global antimicrobial resistance from two perspectives not normally covered by previous publications, namely the ethical use of antibiotics and potential issues relating to the implementation of new antibiotics.
