Abstract
As the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic progressed, some survivors noted prolonged symptoms after acute infection, termed post-acute sequelae of COVID-19 (PASC) or "long COVID." PASC is a significant clinical and public health concern that adversely affects patients' quality of life, income, and health care expenses. Moreover, PASC symptoms are highly heterogeneous, the most common being fatigue and cognitive impairment, and they likely reflect a spectrum of clinical phenotypes. The proposed role of persistent inflammation is one of leading pathophysiological theories. This review article addresses these proposed mechanisms of persistent and aberrant inflammation, their clinical evaluation, and theoretical approaches to management. A review of public databases was used to collect literature for the review. The literature supports a prominent role of persistent and aberrant inflammation as a major contributor to the symptoms of PASC. Proposed mechanisms for persistent inflammation include reactivation of latent viruses, viral persistence, loss of immunoregulatory pathways, autoimmune mechanisms, and/or mast cell dysregulation. Persistent inflammation may result in constitutional symptoms such as fatigue, brain fog, body aches, and/or organ-specific dysfunction, such as gastrointestinal dysregulation and myocardial inflammation. There are no approved or even proven therapies for PASC at this time, but some studies have identified therapeutic options that may either reduce the risk for progression to PASC or decrease symptom burden. Laboratory evaluation and therapeutic options are limited and require further investigation to establish their clinical value. A more refined definition of PASC is needed to address the wide variety of clinical presentations, pathophysiology, and therapeutic options.

Abstract
Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) emerged over the years as a promising approach in the management of chronic pain. Despite the fact that the efficacy of micron-size PEA formulations appears to be time-dependent, the optimal timing has not yet been elucidated. This systematic review and meta-analysis aim to estimate the possible advantage of an extended treatment in the relief of chronic pain. The literature search was conducted consulting scientific databases, to identify clinical trials in which micron-size PEA was administered for at least 60 days, and pain assessed by the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) or Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). Nine studies matched the required criteria, for a total of 742 patients involved. The meta-analysis showed a statistically and clinically significant pain intensity reduction after 60 days of micron-size PEA supplementation, compared to 30 days (1.36 points, p < 0.01). The secondary analysis revealed a weighted NRS/VAS score decrease of 2.08 points within the first month of treatment. These two obtained scores corresponded to a 35.1% pain intensity reduction within the first month, followed by a further 35.4% during the second month. Overall, these results confirm the clinically relevant and time-depended pain-relieving effect of micron-size PEA and therefore the advantage of an extended treatment, especially in patient with incomplete pain management.

Abstract
Intraocular pressure (IOP) positively correlates with both normal and high-tension glaucoma. To date, IOP targeting remains the validated pharmacological approach in counteracting glaucoma progression as well as in halting vision loss. Among the different adjuvant compounds, evidence highlighted the potential effectiveness of Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA), an endogenous fatty acid amide. Thus, a systematic review of the literature was conducted, thoroughly evaluating PEA treatment regimen in decreasing IOP in patients with eye disorders. We checked for articles across the scientific databases Pubmed (MEDLINE), Embase (OVID), and Web of Science from the inception to 30 August 2023, and a total of 828 articles were recovered. Six of these studies (199 patients) were included in the systematic review after the study selection process, and three studies for meta-analysia. Overall, PEA showed significant efficacy in reducing IOP in patients, this encourages its clinical use in glaucoma as well as across different forms of eye disorders.

Abstract
Luteolin (Lu) is a naturally occurring flavonoid compound with a diverse array of pharmacological activities, including anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and neuroprotective properties. However, the therapeutic efficacy and clinical application of Lu are significantly hindered by inherent limitations, such as poor water solubility, short half-life, low bioavailability, and potential off-target toxicity. Recent studies have demonstrated that the utilization of nanocarriers presents a promising strategy to enhance the solubility of Lu, prolong its circulation time, and improve its targeting ability. Despite numerous reviews over the past few decades having focused on the source, pharmacological activities, and molecular mechanisms of Lu, there exists a conspicuous gap in the literature regarding a comprehensive review of Lu-loaded nanoformulations and their applications. To address this gap, we present an exhaustive overview of the advancements and applications of nano-scale drug delivery systems specifically designed for Lu. These platforms encompass micelles, nanocarrier-based systems, emulsified drug delivery systems, and vesicular drug delivery systems. We provide detailed insights into the synthetic materials, preparation methods, physicochemical properties, and significant outcomes associated with these nanoformulations. This systematic review will be particularly valuable to researchers seeking novel avenues in the field of nano-delivery strategies and exploring the potential clinical applications of Lu.

Abstract
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Since the start of the pandemic, olfactory dysfunction (OD) has been reported as a common symptom of COVID-19. In some asymptomatic carriers, OD is often the first and even the only symptom. At the same time, persistent OD is also a long-term sequela seen after COVID-19 that can have a serious impact on the quality of life of patients. However, the pathogenesis of post-COVID-19 OD is still unclear, and there is no specific treatment for its patients. The aim of this paper was to review the research on OD caused by SARS-CoV-2 infection and to summarize the mechanism of action, the pathogenesis, and current treatments.
