Abstract
The high efficiency and specificity of enzymes make them play an important role in life activities, but the high cost, low stability and high sensitivity of natural enzymes severely restrict their application. In recent years, nanozymes have become convincing alternatives to natural enzymes, finding utility across diverse domains, including biosensing, antibacterial interventions, cancer treatment, and environmental preservation. Nanozymes are characterized by their remarkable attributes, encompassing high stability, cost-effectiveness and robust catalytic activity. Within the contemporary scientific landscape, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have garnered considerable attention, primarily due to their versatile applications, spanning catalysis. Notably, MOFs serve as scaffolds for the development of nanozymes, particularly in the context of bacterial detection and treatment. This paper presents a comprehensive review of recent literature pertaining to MOFs and their pivotal role in bacterial detection and treatment. We explored the limitations and prospects for the development of MOF-based nanozymes as a platform for bacterial detection and therapy, and anticipate their great potential and broader clinical applications in addressing medical challenges.

Abstract
Pathogen detection and control have long presented formidable challenges in the domains of medicine and public health. This review paper underscores the potential of nanozymes as emerging bio-mimetic enzymes that hold promise in effectively tackling these challenges. The key features and advantages of nanozymes are introduced, encompassing their comparable catalytic activity to natural enzymes, enhanced stability and reliability, cost effectiveness, and straightforward preparation methods. Subsequently, the paper delves into the detailed utilization of nanozymes for pathogen detection. This includes their application as biosensors, facilitating rapid and sensitive identification of diverse pathogens, including bacteria, viruses, and plasmodium. Furthermore, the paper explores strategies employing nanozymes for pathogen control, such as the regulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), HOBr/Cl regulation, and clearance of extracellular DNA to impede pathogen growth and transmission. The review underscores the vast potential of nanozymes in pathogen detection and control through numerous specific examples and case studies. The authors highlight the efficiency, rapidity, and specificity of pathogen detection achieved with nanozymes, employing various strategies. They also demonstrate the feasibility of nanozymes in hindering pathogen growth and transmission. These innovative approaches employing nanozymes are projected to provide novel options for early disease diagnoses, treatment, and prevention. Through a comprehensive discourse on the characteristics and advantages of nanozymes, as well as diverse application approaches, this paper serves as a crucial reference and guide for further research and development in nanozyme technology. The expectation is that such advancements will significantly contribute to enhancing disease control measures and improving public health outcomes.

Abstract
The high systemic blood glucose concentration of hyperglycemic wound microenvironment (WME) severely impedes the disinfection and healing of infected skin wounds. Herein, a WME-activated smart natural product, integrated GOx-GA-Fe nanozyme (GGFzyme), is engineered, which combines a nanozyme and natural enzyme to promote reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation in situ for hyperglycemic wound disinfection. GGFzyme can consume a high concentration of glucose in hyperglycemia wounds and generate H2O2. The conversion of glucose into gluconic acid not avails starvation treatment but reduces the pH of WME to elevate the catalytic activities of both the nanozyme (GA-Fe) and natural enzyme (GOx). And H2O2 is then high efficiently catalyzed into •OH and O2•- in situ to combat pathogenic bacteria and promote wound disinfection. The high catalytic antibacterial capacity and superior biosafety, combined with beneficial WME modulation, demonstrate that GGFzyme is a promising therapeutic agent for hyperglycemic wounds.

Abstract
As living standards rise, the demand for high-quality chilled meat among consumers also grows. Researchers and enterprises have been interested in ensuring the quality of chilled meat in all links of the downstream industry. Nanozyme has shown the potential to address the aforementioned requirements. Reasons and approaches for the application of nanozymes in the freshness assessment or shelf life extension of chilled meat were discussed. The challenges for applying these nanozymes to ensure the quality of chilled meat were also summarized. Finally, this review examined the safety, regulatory status, and consumer attitudes toward nanozymes. This review revealed that the freshness assessment of chilled meat is closely related to mimicking the enzyme activities of nanozymes, whereas the shelf life changes of chilled meat are mostly dependent on the photothermal activities and pseudophotodynamic activities of nanozymes. In contrast, studies regarding the shelf life of chilled meat are more challenging to develop, as excessive heat or reactive oxygen species impair its quality. Notably, meat contains a complex matrix composition that may interact with the nanozyme, reducing its effectiveness. Nanopollution and mass manufacturing are additional obstacles that must be overcome. Therefore, it is vital to choose suitable approaches to ensure meat quality. Furthermore, the safety of nanozymes in meat applications still needs careful consideration owing to their widespread usage.

Abstract
Viability assessment is a critical step in evaluating bacterial pathogens to determine infectious risks to public health. Based on three accepted viable criteria (culturability, metabolic activity, and membrane integrity), current viability assessments are categorized into three main strategies. The first strategy relies on the culturability of bacteria. The major limitation of this strategy is that it cannot detect viable but nonculturable (VBNC) bacteria. As the second strategy, based on the metabolic activity of bacteria, VBNC bacteria can be detected. However, VBNC bacteria sometimes can enter a dormant state that allows them to silence reproduction and metabolism; therefore, they cannot be detected based on culturability and metabolic activity. In order to overcome this drawback, viability assessments based on membrane integrity (third strategy) have been developed. However, these techniques generally require multiple steps, bulky machines, and laboratory technicians to conduct the tests, making them less attractive and popular applications. With significant advances in microfluidic technology, these limitations of current technologies for viability assessment can be improved. This review summarized and discussed the advances, challenges, and future perspectives of current methods for the viability assessment of bacterial pathogens.
