Abstract
This study explores the anti-inflammatory potential of an endophytic fungus, Trametes versicolor CL-1, isolated from the fruit tissues of Rosa roxburghii. Morphological and molecular analyses confirmed the identity of CL-1. An ethyl acetate extract (CL-E) from its fermentation broth was subjected to UPLC-HRMS and GNPS molecular networking. The analysis revealed a diverse array of secondary metabolites, including 11 terpenes, 7 flavonoids, 10 cinnamic acid derivatives, 6 oligopeptides, and 9 fatty acids, as verified by LC-MS/MS. Notably, CL-E exhibited significant in vitro anti-inflammatory activity in RAW264.7 cells. Furthermore, molecular docking studies predicted favorable binding interactions of key compounds 1 within CL-E with the NLRP3 inflammasome (PDB ID: 6NPY). These findings suggest T. versicolor CL-1 as a promising source of natural anti-inflammatory agents and unveil R. roxburghii as a potential reservoir for discovering novel bioactive metabolites.

Abstract
The Andean Páramo is an environment known for its high biodiversity; however, due to its remote location and difficult access, it is still relatively poorly studied. The aim of this work was to explore the fungal biodiversity of Ecuadorian Páramo soils in the undisturbed natural reserve of Quimsacocha through ITS metabarconding with an MiSeq platform. This analysis revealed the presence of 370 fungal Amplicon Sequence Variants (ASVs), mainly composed by Ascomycota, Mortierellomycota and Basidiomycota. The biodiversity had a great variability among the 19 samples, but the soil humidity proved to be a significant driver of diversity in the relatively dry environment of Páramo. Some of most abundant fungal genera have important relationships with plant roots. This work represents the first glimpse into the complex biodiversity of soil fungi in this understudied area, and further studies will be needed to better understand the fungal biodiversity in this region, together with the development of necessary measures of environmental protection.

Abstract
We assessed fungal diversity in water and sediment samples obtained from five Arctic lakes in Ny-Ålesund (Svalbard Islands, High Arctic) and five Antarctic lakes on Livingston and Deception Islands (South Shetland Islands), using DNA metabarcoding. A total of 1,639,074 fungal DNA reads were detected and assigned to 5980 ASVs amplicon sequence variants (ASVs), with only 102 (1.7%) that were shared between the two Polar regions. For Arctic lakes, unknown fungal taxa dominated the sequence assemblages, suggesting the dominance of possibly undescribed fungi. The phylum Chytridiomycota was the most represented in the majority of Arctic and Antarctic samples, followed by Rozellomycota, Ascomycota, Basidiomycota, and the less frequent Monoblepharomycota, Aphelidiomycota, Mortierellomycota, Mucoromycota, and Neocallimastigomycota. At the genus level, the most abundant genera included psychrotolerant and cosmopolitan cold-adapted fungi including Alternaria, Cladosporium, Cadophora, Ulvella (Ascomycota), Leucosporidium, Vishniacozyma (Basidiomycota), and Betamyces (Chytridiomycota). The assemblages displayed high diversity and richness. The assigned diversity was composed mainly of taxa recognized as saprophytic fungi, followed by pathogenic and symbiotic fungi.

Abstract
Most cold-adapted enzymes display high catalytic activity at low temperatures (20-25 °C) and can still maintain more than 40-50% of their maximum activity at lower temperatures (0-10 °C) but are inactivated after a moderate increase in temperature. The activity of some cold-adapted enzymes increases significantly in the presence of high salt concentrations and metal ions. Interestingly, we also observed that some cold-adapted enzymes have a wide range of optimum temperatures, exhibiting not only maximum activity under low-temperature conditions but also the ability to maintain high enzyme activity under high-temperature conditions, which is a novel feature of cold-adapted enzymes. This unique property of cold-adapted enzymes is generally attractive for biotechnological and industrial applications because these enzymes can reduce energy consumption and the chance of microbial contamination, thereby lowering the production costs and maintaining the flavor, taste and quality of foods. How high catalytic activity is maintained at low temperatures remains unknown. The relationship between the structure of cold-adapted enzymes and their activity, flexibility and stability is complex, and thus far, a unified explanation has not been provided. Herein, we systematically review the sources, catalytic characteristics and cold adaptation of enzymes from four enzymes categories systematically and discuss how these properties may be exploited in biotechnology. A thorough understanding of the properties, catalytic mechanisms, and engineering of cold-adapted enzymes is critical for future biotechnological applications in the detergent industry and food and beverage industries.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES The aim of the present work was to perform the co-culture between Trichoderma longibrachiatum LMBC 172, a mesophilic fungus, with Thermothelomyces thermophilus LMBC 162, a thermophilic fungus, by submerged fermentation in a bioreactor. RESULTS There was an increase in protein production, reaching the value of 35.60 ± 3.76 µg/ml at 72 h. An increase in the amount of proteins of 27.5% in relation to the isolated cultivation of T. longibrachiatum and 19.7% in comparison when T. thermophilus was isolated and cultivated. After that, the saccharification profile of three varieties of sugarcane (sugarcane in natura, culms of sugarcane SP80-3280, and culms of Energy cane) submitted in two pretreatments (autohydrolysis and chemical) was performed. The (e) chemical pretreatment was the better in generating of fermentable sugars from sugarcane bagasse and culms of Energy cane, while with the autohydrolysis pretreatment was obtained the better values to culms of SP80-3280 sugarcane. The sugars found were glucose, xylose, arabinose, and cellobiose. CONCLUSION These results suggest that the co-culture between these microorganisms has the potential to produce an enzymatic cocktail with high performance in the hydrolysis of materials from the sugar-alcohol industry.

Abstract
Human population growth, industrialization, and globalization have caused several pressures on the planet's natural resources, culminating in the severe climate and environmental crisis which we are facing. Aiming to remedy and mitigate the impact of human activities on the environment, the use of lignocellulolytic enzymes for biofuel production, food, bioremediation, and other various industries, is presented as a more sustainable alternative. These enzymes are characterized as a group of enzymes capable of breaking down lignocellulosic biomass into its different monomer units, making it accessible for bioconversion into various products and applications in the most diverse industries. Among all the organisms that produce lignocellulolytic enzymes, microorganisms are seen as the primary sources for obtaining them. Therefore, this review proposes to discuss the fundamental aspects of the enzymes forming lignocellulolytic systems and the main microorganisms used to obtain them. In addition, different possible industrial applications for these enzymes will be discussed, as well as information about their production modes and considerations about recent advances and future perspectives in research in pursuit of expanding lignocellulolytic enzyme uses at an industrial scale.

Comparison of Trichoderma longibrachiatum Xyloglucanase Production Using Tamarind (Tamarindus indica) and Jatoba (Hymenaea courbaril) Seeds: Factorial Design and Immobilization on Ionic Supports. Abstract
Xyloglucan (XG) is the predominant hemicellulose in the primary cell wall of superior plants. It has a fundamental role in controlling the stretching and expansion of the plant cell wall. There are five types of enzymes known to cleave the linear chain of xyloglucan, and the most well-known is xyloglucanase (XEG). The immobilization process can be used to solve problems related to stability, besides the economic benefits brought by the possibility of its repeated use and recovery. Therefore, this study aims at the optimization of the xyloglucanase production of Trichoderma longibrachiatum using a central composite rotatable design (CCRD) with tamarind and jatoba seeds as carbon sources, as well as XEG immobilization on ionic supports, such as MANAE (monoamine-N-aminoethyl), DEAE (diethylaminoethyl)-cellulose, CM (carboxymethyl)-cellulose, and PEI (polyethyleneimine). High concentrations of carbon sources (1.705%), at a temperature of 30 °C and under agitation for 72 h, were the most favorable conditions for the XEG activity from T. longibrachiatum with respect to both carbon sources. However, the tamarind seeds showed 23.5% higher activity compared to the jatoba seeds. Therefore, this carbon source was chosen to continue the experiments. The scaling up from Erlenmeyer flasks to the bioreactor increased the XEG activity 1.27-fold (1.040 ± 0.088 U/mL). Regarding the biochemical characterization of the crude extract, the optimal temperature range was 50–55 °C, and the optimal pH was 5.0. Regarding the stabilities with respect to pH and temperature, XEG was not stable for prolonged periods, which was crucial to immobilizing it on ionic resins. XEG showed the best immobilization efficiency on CM-cellulose and DEAE-cellulose, with activities of 1.16 and 0.89 U/g of the derivative (enzyme plus support), respectively. This study describes, for the first time in the literature, the immobilization of a fungal xyloglucanase using these supports.
