Entropy Generation and Thermal Radiation Analysis of EMHD Jeffrey Nanofluid Flow: Applications in Solar Energy

Electromagnetohydrodynamic (EMHD) flow of Jeffrey fluid through a rough circular microchannel with surface charge-dependent slip

This research examines the electromagnetohydrodynamic (EMHD) flow of Jeffrey fluid in a rough circular microchannel while considering the effect of surface charge on slip. The channel wall corrugations are described as periodic sinusoidal waves with small amplitudes. The perturbation method is employed to derive solutions for velocity and volumetric flow rate, and a combination of three-dimensional (3D) and two-dimensional (2D) graphical representations is utilized to effectively illustrate the impacts of relevant parameters on them. The significance of the Reynolds numberR e $Re$ in investigations of EMHD flow is particularly emphasized. Furthermore, the effect of wall roughness ε $\varepsilon $ and wave number k $k$ on velocity and the influence of wall roughness ε $\varepsilon $ and surface charge densityσ s ${\sigma }_s$ on volumetric flow rate are primarily focused on, respectively, at various Reynolds numbers. The results suggest that increasing the wall roughness leads to a reduction in velocity at low Reynolds numbers (R e = 1 $Re = 1$ ) and an increment at high Reynolds numbers (R e = 10 $Re = 10$ ). For any Reynolds number, a roughness with an odd multiple of wave number (k = 6 , 10 $k = 6,10$ ) will result in a more stable velocity profile compared to one with an even multiple of wave number (k = 4 , 8 $k = 4,8$ ). Decreasing the relaxation timeλ ¯ 1 ${\bar{\lambda }}_1$ while increasing the retardation timeλ ¯ 2 ${\bar{\lambda }}_2$ and Hartmann numberH a $Ha$ can diminish the impact of wall roughness ε $\varepsilon $ and surface charge densityσ s ${\sigma }_s$ on volumetric flow rate, independent of the Reynolds number. Interestingly, in the existence of wall roughness, further consideration of the effect of surface charge on slip leads to a 15% drop in volumetric flow rate atR e = 1 $Re = 1$ and a 32% slippage atR e = 10 $Re = 10$ . However, in the condition where the effect of surface charge on slip is considered, further examination of the presence of wall roughness only results in a 1.4% decline in volumetric flow rate atR e = 1 $Re = 1$ and a 1.6% rise atR e = 10 $Re = 10$ . These findings are crucial for optimizing the EMHD flow models in microchannels.

Electroosmotic MHD ternary hybrid Jeffery nanofluid flow through a ciliated vertical channel with gyrotactic microorganisms: Entropy generation optimization

In this study, the computational analysis of entropy generation optimization for synthetic cilia regulated ternary hybrid Jeffery nanofluid (Ag-Au-TiO2/PVA) flow through a peristaltic vertical channel with swimming motile Gyrotactic microorganisms is investigated. Understanding the intricate interaction of multiple physical phenomena in biomedical applications is essential for optimizing entropy generation and advancing microfluidic systems. The characteristics of nanofluid are explored for the electroosmotic MHD fluid flow in the presence of thermophoresis and Brownian motion, viscous dissipation, Ohmic heating and chemical reaction. Using the appropriate transformations, a set of ordinary differential equations are created from the governing partial differential equations. The resulting ODEs are numerically solved using the shooting technique using BVP5C in MATLAB after applying the long-wavelength and low Reynolds number approximation. The velocity, temperature, concentration, electroosmosis, and microorganism density profiles are analyzed graphically for different emerging parameters. Graphical investigation of engineering interest quantities like heat transfer rate, mass transfer rate, skin friction coefficient, and entropy generation optimization are also presented. It is observed that the rate of mass transfer increases for increasing thermophoretic parameter, while reverse effect is noted for Brownian motion parameter, Schmidt number, and chemical reaction number. The outcomes of present study can be pertinent in studying Cilia properties of respiratory tract, reproductive system, and brain ventricles.

Entropy analysis on EMHD 3D micropolar tri-hybrid nanofluid flow of solar radiative slendering sheet by a machine learning algorithm

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the heat transfer behavior of the electromagnetic 3D micropolar tri-hybrid nanofluid flow of a solar radiative slendering sheet with non-Fourier heat flux model. The conversion of solar radiation into thermal energy is an area of significant interest as the demand for renewable heat and power continues to grow. Due to their enhanced ability to promote heat transmission, nanofluids can significantly contribute to enhancing the efficiency of solar-thermal systems. The combination of silicon oil-based silicon (Si), magnesium oxide (MgO), and titanium (Ti) nanofluids has attracted attention for their ability to improve the performance of solar-thermal systems. The present study discloses a new approach for intelligent numerical computing solving, which utilizes an MLP feed-forward back-propagation ANN and the Levenberg-Marquard algorithm. The collection of data was conducted for the purpose of testing, certifying, and training the ANN model. The Bvp4c solver in MATLAB is utilized to solve the nonlinear equations governing the momentum, temperature, skin-friction coefficient, and Nusselt number. The characteristics of numerous dimensionless parameters such as porosity parameter [Formula: see text], vortex viscosity parameter [Formula: see text], electric field parameter [Formula: see text], thermal relaxation time [Formula: see text], heat source/sink parameter, [Formula: see text] thermal radiation parameter [Formula: see text], temperature ratio parameter [Formula: see text],nanoparticle volume fraction [Formula: see text] on Si + MgO + Ti/silicon oil micropolar tri-hybrid nanofluida are analyzed. The ANN model engages in a process of data selection, network construction, training, and evaluation of its effectiveness through the utilization of mean square error. Tables and graphs are used to show how essential parameters affect fluid transport properties. The velocity profile is decreased by higher values of the porosity parameter, whereas the temperature profile is increased. The temperature profile is inversely proportional to higher values of the electric field parameter. The micro-rotation profiles reduced by expanding values vortex viscosity parameter. It has been determined that entropy generation and Bejan number intensifications for enlarged nanoparticle volume fraction.

This study deals with the entropy generation analysis of synthetic cilia using a ternary hybrid nanofluid (Al-Cu-Fe2O3/Blood) flow through an inclined channel. The objective of the current study is to investigate the effects of entropy generation optimization, heat, and mass transfer on ternary hybrid nanofluid passing through an inclined channel in the proximity of the induced magnetic field. The novelty of the current study is present in studying the combined effect of viscous dissipation, thermophoresis, Brownian motion, exponential heat sink/source, porous medium, endothermic-exothermic chemical reactions, and activation energy in the proximity of induced magnetic field is examined. The governing partial differential equations (PDEs) are transformed into the ordinary differential equations (ODEs) using appropriate transformations. Applying the low Reynolds number and the long-wavelength approximation, resultant ODEs are numerically solved using shooting technique via BVP5C in MATLAB. The velocity, temperature, concentration, and induced magnetism profiles are visually discussed and graphically analyzed for various fluid flow parameters. Graphical analysis of physical interest quantities like mass transfer rate, heat transfer rate, entropy generation optimization, and skin friction coefficient are also graphically discussed. The entropy generation improves for enhancing values of Reynolds number, solutal Grashof number, heat sink/source parameter, Brinkman number, magnetic Prandtl number, and endothermic-exothermic reaction parameter while the reverse effect is noticed for chemical reaction and induced magnetic field parameter. The findings of this study can be applied to enhance heat transfer efficiency in biomedical devices, optimizing cooling systems, designing efficient energy conversion processes, and spanning from renewable energy technologies to aerospace propulsion systems.

Irreversibility analysis of hydromagnetic nanofluid flow past a horizontal surface via Koo-Kleinstreuer-Li (KKL) model

The goal of this research is to investigate the effects of Ohmic heating, heat generation, and viscous dissipative flow on magneto (MHD) boundary-layer heat transmission flowing of Jeffrey nanofluid across a stretchable surface using the Koo-Kleinstreuer-Li (KKL) model. Engine oil serves as the primary fluid and is suspended with copper oxide nanomolecules. The governing equations that regulate the flowing and heat transmission fields are partial-differential equations (PDEs) that are then converted to a model of non-linear ordinary differential equations (ODEs) via similarity transformation. The resultant ODEs are numerically resolved using a Keller box technique via MATLAB software that is suggested. Diagrams and tables are used to express the effects of various normal liquids, nanomolecule sizes, magneto parameters, Prandtl, Deborah, and Eckert numbers on the velocity field and temperature field. The outcomes display that the copper oxide-engine oil nanofluid has a lower velocity, drag force, and Nusselt number than the plain liquid, although the introduction of nanoparticles raises the heat. The heat transference rate is reduced by Eckert number, size of nanomolecules, and magneto parameter rising. Whilst, Deborah number is shown to enhance both the drag-force factor and the heat transfer rate. Furthermore, the discoveries reported are advantageous to upgrading incandescent lighting bulbs, heating, and cooling equipment, filament-generating light, energy generation, multiple heating devices, and other similar devices.
