Abstract
BACKGROUND Life expectancy of children with chronic intestinal failure (CIF) on home parenteral nutrition has greatly improved. Children are now able to grow into adulthood which requires transfer from pediatric to adult health care. A guideline for structured transition is lacking and the demand for a more standardized care for this patient group is necessary. Therefore, we investigated the perceptions of health care professionals from various disciplines working in this specific field, concerning effective interventions regarding transition to adult health care. AIM To create a standardized protocol which provides practical guidance for health care professionals in order to bridge the gap between pediatric and adult health care and to facilitate successful transition of children with chronic intestinal failure. METHODS A survey consisting of 20 interventions for transition was sent out to members of the Intestinal Failure working group of European Reference Network for Rare Inherited Congenital (gastrointestinal and digestive) Anomalies (ERNICA) and the Network of Intestinal Failure and Intestinal Transplant in Europe (NITE) group - European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN) healthcare professionals in 48 medical centers in various countries. Next to 20 interventions, an open-ended question to fill in any other suggestion with respect to most effective intervention was included. Interventions scoring higher than 80% by the participants were included in the protocol. Interventions scoring between 50% and 80% and other own suggestions were discussed during a consensus meeting and included when consensus, defined as unanimous agreement, was reached. Interventions scoring as effective by < 50% of participants were excluded directly. RESULTS A total of 80 healthcare professionals from 33 medical centers (participation rate 69%) participated. The protocol consisted of modifiable components expected to be targets of interventions. The most important key outcomes of the survey were: 1) assessment of patient's transition readiness and provision of knowledge to the patient by the pediatric team, 2) involvement of parents in the transition process, and 3) collaboration between the pediatric and adult chronic intestinal failure team. In addition it is advised that the transition process should start 1-2 years before transfer. A nurse specialist working in both services should form a bridge. All interventions must be tailor-made and based on the maturity of the patient. CONCLUSION This study provides a protocol describing transition of children with chronic intestinal failure from pediatric to adult care. This international protocol will serve as practical guidance for pediatric chronic intestinal failure which will provide a more structured, optimal transition process. It is advised to use this protocol as a formal checklist that can be placed in the patient's chart to review and track the transition process by CIF team members. Future research investigating transition readiness of CIF patients is needed.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) are at increased risk of thrombosis. They often need parenteral nutrition (PN) requiring intravenous access for prolonged periods. We assessed the risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) associated with peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs) and tunneled catheters for patients with IBD receiving home PN (HPN). METHODS Using the Cleveland Clinic HPN Registry, we retrospectively studied a cohort of adults with IBD who received HPN between June 30, 2019 and January 1, 2023. We collected demographics, catheter type, and catheter-associated DVT (CADVT) data. We performed descriptive statistics and Poisson tests to compare CADVT rates among parameters of interest. We generated Kaplan-Meier graphs to illustrate longevity of CADVT-free survival and a Cox proportional hazard model to calculate the hazard ratio associated with CADVT. RESULTS We collected data on 407 patients, of which, 276 (68%) received tunneled catheters and 131 (32%) received PICCs as their initial catheter. There were 17 CADVTs with an overall rate of 0.08 per 1000 catheter days, whereas individual rates of DVT for PICCs and tunneled catheters were 0.16 and 0.05 per 1000 catheter days, respectively (P = 0.03). After adjusting for age, sex, and comorbidity, CADVT risk was significantly higher for PICCs compared with tunneled catheters, with an adjusted hazard ratio of 2.962 (95% CI=1.140-7.698; P = 0.025) and adjusted incidence rate ratio of 3.66 (95% CI=2.637-4.696; P = 0.013). CONCLUSION Our study shows that CADVT risk is nearly three times higher with PICCs compared with tunneled catheters. We recommend tunneled catheter placement for patients with IBD who require HPN infusion greater than 30 days.

Abstract
Background Within Diagnosis Related Groups, based on service capability, efficiency, and quality safety assessment, clinical pharmacists contribute to promoting rational drug utilisation in healthcare institutions. However, a deficiency of pharmacist involvement has been observed in the total parenteral nutrition support to patients following haematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) within DRGs. Methods This study involved 146 patients who underwent HCT at the Department of Haematology, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University, spanning from January 2020 to December 2022. Results Patients were allocated equally, with 73 in the control group and 73 in the pharmacist-involved group: baseline characteristics showed no statistics significance, including age, body mass index, nutrition risk screening-2002 score, liver and kidney function, etc. Albumin levels, prealbumin levels were significantly improved after a 7-day TPN support (34.92 ± 4.24 vs 36.25 ± 3.65, P = 0.044; 251.30 ± 95.72 vs 284.73 ± 83.15, P = 0.026). The body weight was increased after a 7-day support and before discharge (58.77 ± 12.47 vs 63.82 ± 11.70, P = 0.013; 57.61 ± 11.85 vs 64.92 ± 11.71, P < 0.001). The length of hospital stay, costs and the rate of re-admissions were significantly shortened (51.10 ± 1.42 vs 46.41 ± 1.86, P = 0.048; 360,162.67 ± 91,831.34 vs 324,070.16 ± 112,315.51, P = 0.035; 61.64% vs 43.84%, P = 0.046). Conclusions Pharmacist-joint TPN support enhances the service efficiency score of medical units, ensuring the fulfilment of orders and rational medication.

Abstract
PURPOSE The International Safety and Quality of Parenteral Nutrition (PN) Summit consisted of presentations, discussions, and formulation of consensus statements. The purpose here is to briefly summarize the summit and to present the consensus statements. SUMMARY There was a high degree of consensus, with all statements approved by all authors/summit experts. These consensus statements should be regarded not as formal guidelines but rather as best-practice guidance intended to complement national and international nutrition society evidence-based guidelines and position statements. This article also summarizes key discussion topics from the summit, encompassing up-to-date knowledge and practical guidance concerning PN safety and quality in various countries and clinical settings, focusing on adult patients. Clear geographical differences exist between practices in Europe and the United States, and different approaches to improve the safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness of PN vary, particularly with regard to the delivery systems used. Discussion between experts allowed for an exchange of practical experience in optimizing PN use processes, opportunities for standardization, use of electronic systems, potential improvements in PN formulations, better management during PN component shortages, and practical guidance to address patients' needs, particularly during long-term/home PN. CONCLUSION The consensus statements are the collective opinion of the panel members and form best-practice guidance. The authors intend that this guidance may help to improve the safety and quality of PN in a variety of settings by bridging the gap between published guideline recommendations and common practical issues.

Abstract
PURPOSE This article is based on presentations and discussions held at the International Safety and Quality of Parenteral Nutrition (PN) Summit (held November 8-10, 2021, at Charleston, SC, and Bad Homburg, Germany) and aims to raise awareness concerning unresolved issues associated with the PN process and potential future directions, including a greater emphasis on patients' perspectives and the role of patient support. SUMMARY Ensuring that every patient in need receives adequate PN support remains challenging. It is important to have a standardized approach to identify nutritional risk and requirements using validated nutritional screening and assessment tools. Gaps between optimal and actual clinical practices need to be identified and closed, and responsibilities in the nutrition support team clarified. Use of modern technology opens up opportunities to decrease workloads or liberate resources, allowing a more personalized care approach. Patient-centered care has gained in importance and is an emerging topic within clinical nutrition, in part because patients often have different priorities and concerns than healthcare professionals. Regular assessment of health-related quality of life, functional outcomes, and/or overall patient well-being should all be performed for PN patients. This will generate patient-centric data, which should be integrated into care plans. Finally, communication and patient education are prerequisites for patients' commitment to health and for fostering adherence to PN regimes. CONCLUSION Moving closer to optimal nutritional care requires input from healthcare professionals and patients. Patient-centered care and greater emphasis on patient perspectives and priorities within clinical nutrition are essential to help further improve clinical nutrition.

Abstract
RATIONAL Critically ill surgical patients pose one of the greatest challenges in achieving nutritional goals. Several published papers have demonstrated clear benefits when nutrition support (NS) is managed by a multidisciplinary nutrition support team (NST). We hypothesized that implementing a NST in a surgical intensive care unit (ICU) would increase the number of patients achieving their nutritional goals. MATERIAL AND METHOD Multicenter "BEFORE & AFTER" study. In the BEFORE phase, an audit of the previous state of NS was conducted in three ICUs without a NST. INTERVENTION Implementation of a NST and protocol. In the AFTER phase, a new audit of NS was conducted. Continuous variables (presented as mean ± SD or median Q1-Q3) were tested using the t-test and Mann-Whitney U test. Categorical variables (presented as frequencies and percentages) were assessed using the chi-square test. A binomial logistic regression model was performed, with independent variables introduced using a stepwise forward method. A difference was considered to be significant with a two-sided P-value <0.05. Statistical analysis was conducted using IBM-SPSS 26. RESULTS A total of 83 patients were included in the BEFORE phase, and 85 in the AFTER phase. The latter group showed a higher frequency of nutritional risk and malnutrition (SGA B+C odds ratio 2.314, 95% CI 1.164-4.600). Laparoscopy was more frequently utilized as a surgical technique in the AFTER phase. No differences were observed in ICU and hospital LOS or 90 days' survival rates. Two variables remained independent factors to predict NS achievement: NST implementation (odds ratio 3.582, 95% CI 1.733-7.404), and surgical technique (odds ratio 3.231, 95% CI 1.312-7.959). CONCLUSION NST positively impacts the chance of achieving NS goals in critically ill surgical patients.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Care of older adults requires comprehensive management and control of systemic diseases, which can be effectively managed by family physicians. Complicated medical conditions in older patients admitted to orthopedic departments (orthopedic patients) necessitate interprofessional collaboration. Nutrition is one of the essential components of management involved in improving the systemic condition of older patients. Nutrition support teams play an important role in nutrition management and can be supported by family physicians. However, the role of family physicians in nutrition support teams is not well documented. This study aimed to investigate the role of family physicians in supporting nutrition management in orthopedic patients. METHODS This qualitative study was conducted between January and June 2023 using constructivist grounded theory methodology. Eight family medicine physicians, three orthopedic surgeons, two nurses, two pharmacists, four rehabilitation therapists, four nutritionists, and one laboratory technician working in Japanese rural hospitals participated in the research. Data collection was performed through ethnography and semi-structured interviews. The analysis was performed iteratively during the study. RESULTS Using a grounded theory approach, four theories were developed regarding family physicians' role in providing nutrition support to orthopedic patients: hierarchical and relational limitation, delay of onset and detection of the need for geriatric care in orthopedic patients, providing effective family medicine in hospitals, and comprehensive management through the nutrition support team. CONCLUSIONS The inclusion of family physicians in nutrition support teams can help with early detection of the rapid deterioration of orthopedic patients' conditions, and comprehensive management can be provided by nutrition support teams. In rural primary care settings, family physicians play a vital role in providing geriatric care in community hospitals in collaboration with specialists. Family medicine in hospitals should be investigated in other settings for better geriatric care and to drive mutual learning among healthcare professionals.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Reported outcomes for parenteral nutrition (PN)-related complications in older adult patients with acute intestinal failure who are receiving PN in the acute hospital setting are limited. Our study aims to compare PN-related complications between older and younger adult patients. METHODS A retrospective descriptive study of inpatients who were administered PN from January 1, 2019, to December 31, 2019, was performed. Patients were categorized into older (≥65 years old) and younger (<65 years old) adult groups. RESULTS Two hundred thirty-five patients were included. There were 103 patients in the older adult group (mean age: 73.9 [SD: 6.9] years) and 132 patients in the younger adult group (mean age: 52.4 [SD: 12.5] years). There was a significantly higher Charlson Comorbidity Index score and lower Karnofsky score in the older adult group. The older adult group received significantly lower total energy (20.8 [SD: 7.8] vs 22.8 [SD: 6.3] kcal/kg/day), dextrose (3.1 [SD: 1.4] vs 3.6 [SD: 1.4] g/kg/day), and protein (1.1 [SD: 0.4] vs 1.2 [SD: 0.3] g/kg/day) than the younger group received. The mean length of stay was significantly shorter in the older adult group (35.9 [SD: 21.3] vs 59.8 [SD: 55.3]; P < 0.05). There was no significant difference in PN-related complications and clinical outcomes (catheter-related bloodstream infections, hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia, fluid overload, or inpatient mortality) between the two groups. CONCLUSION Despite more comorbidities in the older adult, the usage of PN in older adult patients with acute intestinal failure was associated with neither an increased rate of PN-related complications nor worse clinical outcomes when compared with that of younger patients.

Abstract
Intestinal failure (IF) is characterized by a critical reduction in functional gut mass below the minimum needed for optimal growth in children. It requires parenteral nutrition (PN) and home-PN (HPN), which is challenging in terms of meeting nutritional needs according to age, growth velocity, clinical situation, and rapid changes in fluid and electrolyte requirements. Due to these complex requirements, age-adapted multi-chamber bags (MCBs) are important additions to the nutrition armamentarium. The launch of composite fish oil (FO)-containing intravenous lipid emulsions (ILEs) heralded the development of MCBs containing these ILEs in combination with a crystalline amino acid solution adapted for pediatric use. The safety and efficacy of lipid and amino acid components in this context have been widely documented in numerous published studies. This narrative manuscript includes a review of the articles published in PudMed, Embase, and Google Scholar up to June 2023 for the age groups of term infants to children and adolescents. Preterm infants with their highly specific demands are not included. It aims to offer an overview of the clinical experience regarding the use of a composite FO-based ILE and a developed specific amino acid solution.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The management process of Enteral Nutrition (EN) typically involves the interaction between a team of health care practitioners. Nurses being the closest to the patients, have crucial responsibilities and play a major role in feeding delivery along with other medical treatments. This study was conducted to investigate the perception of the nurses working in adult and paediatric intensive care Units (ICUs) regarding the EN barriers and identify the factors that influenced their perception. METHODS The data in this cross-sectional study was collected via online survey between 15 October 2021 and January 2022. All nurses working in adult or paediatric ICUs across Saudi Arabia were eligible to participate. The tool used for the data collection was adapted from Cahill et al. (2016) and then reviewed and modified by the researchers. The survey collected information about the demographics of the nurses, and it included 24 potential EN barriers where the participants were asked to rate their importance on a scale from 1 to 5. Descriptive statistics were performed to describe the variables, univariant analysis were performed to compare the perceptions of the nurses regarding the EN barriers based on their characteristics followed by stepwise linear regression analysis. RESULTS A total of 136 nurses working in adult and paediatric ICUs were included in this study. The results showed that the most important barriers as perceived by the nurses was "Frequent displacement of feeding tube, requiring reinsertion" [3.29 ± 1.28], "Delays in initiating motility agents in patients not tolerating enteral nutrition" [3.27 ± 1.24] and "Enteral formula not available on the unit". [3.27 ± 1.24]. Our results showed that the responses of the participants statistically varied based on their work settings, gender, region, and educational level for some items in the survey (P-value ≤ 0.05). In the regression analysis, gender was the only variable statistically influenced the total Likert rating scores of the participants (r = -0.213, p-value = 0.013). CONCLUSION This study identified several barriers that exist in the nursing practice of EN in critical care settings. There are distinct differences in the perception of the nurses to these barriers based on their characteristics. Understanding such differences is important for implementing future strategies for units that needed the most help in prioritizing EN delivery.

Abstract
Short bowel syndrome (SBS) is the leading cause of intestinal failure (IF) in children. The preferred treatment for IF is parenteral nutrition which may be required until adulthood. The aim of this position paper is to review the available evidence on managing SBS and to provide practical guidance to clinicians dealing with this condition. All members of the Nutrition Committee of the European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN) contributed to this position paper. Some renowned experts in the field joined the team to guide with their expertise. A systematic literature search was performed from 2005 to May 2021 using PubMed, MEDLINE, and Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews. In the absence of evidence, recommendations reflect the expert opinion of the authors. Literature on SBS mainly consists of retrospective single-center experience, thus most of the current papers and recommendations are based on expert opinion. All recommendations were voted on by the expert panel and reached >90% agreement. This second part of the position paper is dedicated to the long-term management of children with SBS-IF. The paper mainly focuses on how to achieve intestinal rehabilitation, treatment of complications, and on possible surgical and medical management to increase intestinal absorption.

Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the activity of a nutrition support team (NST) and the trends of multi-chamber bag (MCB) and customized parenteral nutrition (PN) with NST consultations in South Korea. Data were obtained from the National Inpatient Sample Cohort between 2015 and 2020. Three datasets were constructed for NST consultation, MCB-PN product prescriptions, and aseptic preparation of total PN. The intersections of the NST consultation and each PN dataset were compiled into MCB-PN with NST or customized PN with a NST sub-dataset, respectively. Using personal identifiers, the patients' characteristics were evaluated in the NST cohort. A total of 91,384 reimbursements and 70,665 patients were included. The NST activity had increased by more than 50% over 6 years. Approximately 70% and 11%, respectively, of the NST cohort were classified into two subgroups: MCB-PN with NST (M-NST) and customized PN with NST (C-NST). M-NST had many elderly patients with cancer and showed a higher in-hospital mortality than C-NST (12.6% vs. 9.5%). C-NST included a larger number of patients under the age of 5 years, and the hospitalization period was more extended than M-NST (26.2 vs. 21.2 days). The present study showed that NST activities and the proportion of PN with NST consultation are gradually increasing in South Korea.

Abstract
The historical institution, evolution, and innovations of nutrition support teams (NSTs) over the past six decades are presented. Focused aspects of the transition to transdisciplinary and patient-centered care, NST membership, leadership, and the future of NSTs are further discussed. NSTs were instituted to address the need for the safe implementation and management of parenteral nutrition, developed in the late 1960s, which requires the expertise of individuals working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary fashion. In 1976, the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN) was established using the multidisciplinary model. In 1983, the United States established the inpatient prospective payment system with associated diagnosis-related groupings, which altered the provision of nutrition support in hospitals with funded NSTs. The number of funded NSTs has waxed and waned since; yet hospitals and healthcare have adapted, as additional education and experience grew, primarily through ASPEN's efforts. Nutrition support was not administered in some instances by the "core of four" (physician, nurse, dietitian, pharmacist). The functions may be carried out by a member of the core of four not associated with the parent discipline, in accordance with licensure/privileging. This cross-functioning has evolved into the adaptation of the concept of transdisciplinarity, emphasizing function over form, supported and enhanced by "top-of-license" practice. In some institutions, nutrition support has been incorporated into other healthcare teams. Future innovations will assist NSTs in providing the right nutrition support for the right patient in the right way at the right time, recognizing that nutrition care is a human right.

Abstract
Adults have approximately 20 feet of small intestine, which is the primary site for absorbing essential nutrients and water. Resection of the intestine for any medical reason may result in short bowel syndrome (SBS), leading to loss of major absorptive surface area and resulting in various malabsorption and motility disorders. The mainstay of treatment is personalized close dietary management. Here we present SBS with its pathophysiology and different nutritional management options available. The central perspective of this paper is to provide a concise review of SBS and the treatment options available, along with how proper nutrition can solve major dietary issues in SBS and help patients recover faster.

Abstract
Background: The European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism database for chronic intestinal failure (CIF) was analyzed to investigate factors associated with nutritional status and the intravenous supplementation (IVS) dependency in children. Methods: Data collected: demographics, CIF mechanism, home parenteral nutrition program, z-scores of weight-for-age (WFA), length or height-for-age (LFA/HFA), and body mass index-for-age (BMI-FA). IVS dependency was calculated as the ratio of daily total IVS energy over estimated resting energy expenditure (%IVSE/REE). Results: Five hundred and fifty-eight patients were included, 57.2% of whom were male. CIF mechanisms at age 1−4 and 14−18 years, respectively: SBS 63.3%, 37.9%; dysmotility or mucosal disease: 36.7%, 62.1%. One-third had WFA and/or LFA/HFA z-scores < −2. One-third had %IVSE/REE > 125%. Multivariate analysis showed that mechanism of CIF was associated with WFA and/or LFA/HFA z-scores (negatively with mucosal disease) and %IVSE/REE (higher for dysmotility and lower in SBS with colon in continuity), while z-scores were negatively associated with %IVSE/REE. Conclusions: The main mechanism of CIF at young age was short bowel syndrome (SBS), whereas most patients facing adulthood had intestinal dysmotility or mucosal disease. One-third were underweight or stunted and had high IVS dependency. Considering that IVS dependency was associated with both CIF mechanisms and nutritional status, IVS dependency is suggested as a potential marker for CIF severity in children.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES The aim of the study was to describe the longitudinal development of health-related quality of life (HRQOL) and fatigue in children with chronic intestinal failure (CIF) on home parenteral nutrition (PN) and compare these children to the general population. METHODS Prospective, observational study conducted over 7 years in patients suffering from CIF receiving home PN from 2 tertiary hospitals in the Netherlands. Every 6 months, parents (if child <8 years old) or patients (if child ≥8 years old) completed 2 questionnaires: Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory 4.0 (PedsQL) Generic and Fatigue on the KLIK (kwaliteit van leven in kaart [Dutch Acronym for Quality of Life in Clinical Practice]) Patient Reported Outcome Measures portal, which were compared with the general population. Linear mixed models (LMMs) were constructed to investigate the course of HRQOL over time. RESULTS Thirty-five patients were included (40% girls). At time of last KLIK contact, patients received HPN for a median of 5.3 years (interquartile range [IQR]: 2.9-9.7). In total, 272 questionnaires were completed. PedsQL generic total score for ages 5 to 7 and 8 to 12 years was significantly lower than the general population (P < 0.01 for both age groups) with effect sizes of 0.73 and 0.71, respectively. PedsQL fatigue total score for ages 5 to 7 years was also significantly lower (P = 0.01; effect size 0.70). LMMs for PedsQL Generic and Fatigue total score 2 to 7 and 8 to 18 years showed no significant coefficient for duration of home PN. CONCLUSIONS Children suffering from CIF receiving home PN ages 5 to 12 years report lower HRQOL scores than the general population. HRQOL and fatigue do not change during long-term treatment with home PN in these children.

Abstract
Sepsis, resulting from a dysregulated host immune response to invading pathogens, is the leading cause of mortality in critically ill patients worldwide. Immunomodulatory treatment for sepsis is currently lacking. Children with short bowel syndrome (SBS) may present with less severe symptoms during gram-negative bacteremia. We, therefore, tested the hypothesis that plasma from children with SBS could confer protection against Escherichia coli sepsis. We showed that SBS plasma at 5% and 10% concentrations significantly (p < 0.05) inhibited the production of both TNF-α and IL-6 induced by either E. coli- or LPS-stimulated host cells when compared to plasma from healthy controls. Furthermore, mice treated intravenously with select plasma samples from SBS or healthy subjects had reduced proinflammatory cytokine levels in plasma and a significant survival advantage after E. coli infection. However, SBS plasma was not more protective than the plasma of healthy subjects, suggesting that children with SBS have other immunomodulatory mechanisms, in addition to neutralizing antibodies, to alleviate their symptoms during gram-negative sepsis.

Abstract
Enterocutaneous fistulae (ECFs) are commonly encountered complications in medical and surgical practice. High-output fistulae are associated with significant morbidity and mortality, poor quality of life, and a substantial healthcare burden. An interdisciplinary team approach is crucial to prevent and mitigate the adverse clinical consequences of high-output ECFs including sepsis, metabolic derangements, and malnutrition. Patients with ECFs are at a significantly higher risk of developing malnutrition and close monitoring by nutrition support professionals and/or a nutrition support team is an essential component of their medical management. High-output ECFs often require the initiation of nutrition support through either enteral or parenteral routes. Historically, parenteral nutrition (PN) has been the primary method of nutrition support in these patients. However, oral and enteral nutrition (EN) should remain viable options if an evaluation of the location of the ECF, amount of remaining functional bowel, and volume of ECF output identifies favorable conditions. Additionally, in contrast to PN, oral nutrition and EN are the preferred method of feeding because of the maintenance of the structural and functional integrity of the gastrointestinal tract. The inclusion of pharmacological interventions can greatly assist with the reduction and stabilization of ECF output and thereby permit sustained enteral feeding. Initiation of supplemental or full PN will be required if oral nutrition and EN lead to metabolic derangements, fail to meet energy requirements, or do not maintain or improve the patient's nutrition status. The main focus of this review is to discuss the nutrition management of patients with high-output ECFs.
