Abstract
BACKGROUND YouTube™ has become a potential way to integrate technology into nursing curriculum and acquire skills. However, it is important to review the accuracy of the information contained in YouTube™. This study was conducted to evaluate the content validity, reliability and quality of YouTube™ videos on peripheral intravenous catheterization. METHODS In this descriptive study, videos were searched using the keyword 'Peripheral Venous Catheter'. The content validity, reliability and quality of the videos were evaluated using the 'Peripheral Intravenous Catheterization Insertion Skill Form', 'DISCERN Questionnaire', 'Global Quality Scale', respectively. These videos were categorized by their theme, upload source, technical features and analysed statistically. RESULTS Of the 48 videos, 38 (79.2%) classified as an useful video, 24 (50%) were uploaded by medical educational platforms and 28 (58.3%) had an average technical feature. There was a statistically significant difference between the reliability, quality, content validity scores by the video theme (p < 0.05). The content validity, reliability and quality score of useful videos were higher than misleading videos. In addition, pairwise comparisons indicated that there was a statistically significant difference between the content validity, reliability and quality scores of Peripheral Intravenous Catheterization demonstrated on a person or a mannequin were higher than those applied with ultrasonography (p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS As a result of the reviewing of the videos, it was determined that these videos provided useful content. Despite this positive result, some videos provide risky information for patient safety due to issues such as ignoring the asepsis principles and not including proper Peripheral Intravenous Catheterization steps. It may be recommended to consider the Peripheral Intravenous Catheterization steps and patient safety principles in international guidelines in the preparation of videos showing the Peripheral Intravenous Catheterization insertion.

Abstract
This study, conducted using the descriptive-correlational model, aims to evaluate the content, reliability, and quality of insulin pen injection videos on YouTube. The video-sharing platform YouTube was searched with the keyword "insulin pen injection." Of the 101 relevant videos, 49 were included in the study. Video contents were evaluated independently by the "Insulin Pen Injection Guide Form," their reliability by the "DISCERN Questionnaire," and their quality by the "Global Quality Scale." Of the 49 videos that met the inclusion criteria, 55.1% contained useful information, and 44.8% contained misleading information. The videos that were found to be useful were longer and had higher DISCERN and content scores. A statistically significant positive correlation was determined between the videos' DISCERN and content scores ( r = 0.772, P < .001). More than half of the insulin pen injection videos available on YouTube are helpful, but the number of misleading videos is close to the helpful ones. Thus, it may be recommended that the insulin pen injection videos be evaluated by experts in line with evidence-based guidelines before sharing them on YouTube.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION AND HYPOTHESIS The aim of this study is to examine the quality and content characteristics of educational videos on the use of vaginal cones published on YouTube. METHODS Video searches were conducted on the YouTube website using the keyword "usage of vaginal cones". A total of 52 videos were included in the current study. Modified DISCERN (mDISCERN) and Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) scales were used to evaluate the reliability of the videos, and the Global Quality Scale (GQS) was used for quality and usefulness. RESULTS As a result of the content analysis conducted, it was observed that 29 videos were classified as having "poor content" and 23 as "rich content." When we examined the sources of the videos (n = 52), it was found that the majority (58%, n = 30) were produced by nonhealth care sources (medical companies and nonhealth professionals). With statistical significance in mDISCERN and GQS (p = 0.014, p = 0.036), physiotherapists were found to have the highest average scores (4.11 ± 1.05, 3.44 ± 0.73) whereas doctors ranked second in the average standard deviation (3.09 ± 1.04, 2.82 ± 0.98). In JAMA, medical companies were found to have the highest average score with statistical significance (p = 0.015) at 3.4 ± 0.74, followed by doctors at 3 ± 1, and physiotherapists at 2.89 ± 0.78 when averages were analyzed. CONCLUSION It is clearly evident that there is a need for higher quality and more reliable vaginal cone content database on YouTube. It is important for patients to be guided by health care professionals and informed about quality content criteria in order to access quality, reliable, and useful information.

Abstract
This descriptive study aimed to determine the content, quality, and reliability of YouTube videos on breast cancer-related lymphedema exercises. A total of 127 videos were independently assessed, with 103 of them categorized as either informative or misleading content groups. The content (mean score: 4.07 ± 2.29) and quality (mean score: 3.15 ± 1.46) of videos concerning lymphedema exercises were moderate, while reliability (mean score: 2.27 ± 1.64) was low. Among the 103 videos categorized using the content checklist, Global Quality Scale, and DISCERN reliability instrument, 57.3% (n = 59) were informative, and 42.7% (n = 44) had misleading information. The mean scores of the content, quality, and reliability of the informative content videos were substantially higher than the misleading content videos, and of videos uploaded by universities/professional organizations/health care professionals/medical advertisements were higher than the videos uploaded by other sources. Through this study, the researchers have unveiled that the content and quality levels of YouTube videos in lymphedema exercises were moderate, and the reliability level was low.

Abstract
Objectives The objectives of this study are to assess the current level of experience and teaching practices for SPC change at our institution and, second, to assess the quality of YouTube videos as an educational tool for teaching SPC change. Methods A survey was conducted of 40 JMOs at our institution regarding SPC change. The first 20 YouTube videos on SPC change were included for analysis. A JAMA and DISCERN score was calculated for each video. Using linear regression, the association between collected variables and the assigned JAMA and DISCERN scores were determined. Results The survey showed that 18 (45%) of JMOs had done an SPC change. None had received formal teaching. The consensus was that the quality of the YouTube videos was poor. There was a statistically significant positive correlation between the score assigned to videos by each scoring system (Pearson's r 0.81, p < 0.001). There was no statistically significant association between video quality as measured by either of the scoring systems and number of views. No association between any video characteristic and JAMA and DISCERN score was found. Conclusion An SPC change is often a requirement of JMOs; however, this skill is not formally taught. The quality of YouTube videos describing an SPC change is poor.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE A previous study in 2016 found that the quality of YouTube videos on epistaxis first-aid management was highly variable. This study aimed to reassess the accuracy and patient understandability of such YouTube videos. METHOD YouTube was searched using the phrase 'How to stop a nosebleed'. The highest 50 ranking videos, based on relevance, were screened. Each video was assessed objectively using a standardised 'advice score', and subjectively using a video understandability and actionability checklist, the Patient Education Materials Assessment Tool for Audiovisual Materials ('PEMAT-A/V'). RESULTS The mean advice score was 4.1 out of 8. The mean (standard deviation) understandability and actionability scores were 76 per cent (17 per cent) and 89 per cent (18 per cent), respectively. There was a strong positive correlation between the actionability scores and the advice scores (ρ = 0.634; p < 0.001), and between the actionability scores and the understandability scores (ρ = 0.519; p = 0.002). CONCLUSION YouTube videos are providing increasingly relevant advice for patients seeking healthcare information. YouTube is proposed as a useful medium for teaching epistaxis management to patients and community practitioners.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Medical learners may use YouTube® videos to prepare for procedures. Videos are convenient and readily available, but without any uploading standards, their accuracy and quality for education are uncertain. We assessed the quality of emergency cricothyrotomy videos on YouTube through an expert panel of surgeons with objective quality metrics. METHODS A YouTube® search for "emergency cricothyrotomy" was performed and results were filtered to remove animations and lectures. The 4 most-viewed videos were sent to a panel of trauma surgeons for evaluation. An educational quality (EQ) score was generated for each video based on its ability to explain the procedure indications, orient the viewer to the patient, provide accurate narration, provide clear views of procedure, identify relevant instrumentation and anatomy, and explain critical maneuvers. Reviewers were also asked if safety concerns were present and encouraged to give feedback in a free-response field. RESULTS Four surgical attendings completed the survey. The median EQ score was 6 on a 7-point scale (95% CI [6, 6]). All but one of the individual parameters had a median EQ score of 6 (95% CI: indications [3, 7], orientation [5, 7], narration [6, 7], clarity [6, 7], instruments [6, 7], anatomy [6, 6], critical maneuvers [5, 6]). Safety received a lower EQ score (5.5, 95% CI [2, 6]). CONCLUSIONS The most-viewed cricothyrotomy videos were rated positively by surgical attendings. Still, it is necessary to know if medical learners can distinguish high from low quality videos. If not, this suggests a need for surgical societies to create high-quality videos that can be reliably and efficiently accessed on YouTube®.

Abstract
PURPOSE The objective of the study was to explore how urology-related news, one of the medical specialties profoundly linked to human health and life, is communicated to the public through media outlets that serves as primary sources of medical information for the public. METHODS In this study, articles were retrieved using the keyword 'Urology' from the Bigkinds spanning from January 1, 1990 to August 17, 2023. The Beautifulsoup library in Python was utilized for parsing the text to collect both titles and bodies of the articles. The gathered data was then analyzed using the latent Dirichlet allocation (LDA) algorithm from the scikit-learn library. Additionally, tools such as Wordcloud and Networkx were employed to visualize the relationships and patterns within the data. RESULTS The keyword analysis led to the identification of various themes in the articles, with a clear distinction between those providing medical information and those promoting healthcare services, technologies, and products. Notably, the content frequently intertwined informational aspects with promotional ones. Articles on men's health and pet diseases, for example, often combined educational material with product or procedure promotions. This overlap highlights the complexity of categorizing media content into distinct themes. Furthermore, the coverage of health insurance and treatment methods including recent advancements like robotic surgery reflected the evolving nature of healthcare discussions to emphasize the interplay between policy changes, medical advancements, and media portrayal. CONCLUSION By identifying 10 distinct topics mentioned in the news, the analysis determined which topics are common in urology-related news coverage. The findings revealed a substantial volume of medical information on urology in the media with a wide range of topics including treatment and prevention of urologic conditions, insurance information, new treatments, and news stories promoting new products or hospitals.

Abstract
AIM This study was conducted to evaluate the content, reliability and quality of YouTube videos about phlebotomy. METHOD A retrospective, register-based study was conducted exclusively with videos publicly available on YouTube in June 2022. Ninety videos have been evaluated in terms of content, reliability and quality. This evaluation was performed by two independent researchers. The skill checklist created with reference to the WHO blood collection guide was used for the content evaluation of the videos. The short form of the DISCERN questionnaire was used to evaluate the reliability of the video. The quality of the videos was evaluated with a 5-point Global Quality Scale. RESULTS The mean validity score of the English videos was 2.58 ± 0.88, the quality score was 2.98 ± 1.02 and the content score was 8.78 ± 1.47. In the Turkish videos, the mean validity score was 1.90 ± 1.27, the quality score was 2.35 ± 0.97 and the content score was 8.02 ± 1.07. The content, validity and quality scores of the English videos were found to be significantly higher than the Turkish videos. CONCLUSION Some videos do not include evidence-based practice and some videos contain technical differences as in the literature. In addition, in some videos, non-recommended techniques such as touching the cleaning area, opening and closing the fist were used. For these reasons, the results show that YouTube videos on phlebotomy are a limited resource for students.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Erectile dysfunction (ED) is one of the most prevalent urological diseases, but there is limited data about the quality of its information in social networks. The aim of our study was to assess the quality of ED information contained in YouTube videos. MATERIAL AND METHODS Descriptive study of the first 50 Spanish-language videos, published on YouTube, evaluated by three urologists. We used two validated questionnaires: PEMAT (Patient Education Materials Assessment Tool) and DISCERN. Videos were classified according to DISCERN score into poor or moderate-good quality. RESULTS The median time duration was 2.42minutes (0.15-3.58), 94,197 views (2,313-3,027,890), 682.5 «likes» (0-54,020) and 39 «dislikes» (0-2843). The median of PEMAT score was 29% (9%-95.5%) in understandability and 29% (0-95.5%) in actionability. According to DISCERN score 27 videos (57.4%) had poor quality and 20 (42.6%) moderate-good quality. There were no significant differences between the two groups in time duration, views, «likes» or «dislikes». There were differences in PEMAT score in understandability and actionability. The 86.7% of the moderate-good quality videos were starred by health care provider (P=.001). Also, the 85.7% of videos that describes treatment had moderate-good quality (P=.001). The 84% of the non-medical videos had a poor quality (P=.001). CONCLUSION Most ED videos on YouTube have poor quality. The highest quality videos are those made by professionals, although they are not the most viewed. It would be important to develop measures to prevent the spread of misinformation among social network users.

Abstract
PURPOSE To examine the reliability, quality and content of YouTube videos on exercises that can be performed after breast cancer (BC) surgery. METHODS Videos selected from YouTube using the search terms 'shoulder exercise and BC surgery', 'arm exercise and BC surgery' and 'physiotherapy/physical therapy and BC surgery' were categorised as useful or misleading by a surgeon and a physiotherapist. The videos were analysed using the 5-point DISCERN scale for reliability, the Global Quality Scale for quality and a 10-item scale for comprehensiveness. RESULTS Of the 180 videos initially analysed, 82 were included in the study, and 42 (51.2%) were classified as having misleading information and 40(48.8%) as having useful information. The reliability, quality and content scores of the videos containing useful information were higher (p < 0.001). Most of the videos in the useful information group (80%) were uploaded by universities/professional organisations/physicians/physiotherapists, while the majority of those in the misleading information group (47.6%) were uploaded by websites providing independent healthcare information. CONCLUSION YouTube can be an important instrument to protect patients from musculoskeletal system complications after BC treatment and improve existing complications. Universities, physicians and physiotherapists should be encouraged to prepare more videos containing full and accurate information on this subject.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE In this study, we aimed to examine the content, reliability, and quality of YouTube video contents concerning myocarditis and its association with the COVID-19 for the first time in the literature. METHODS The most viewed 50 videos were included in the analysis. The time since the videos were uploaded, video length, type of image (real/animation), video content, qualify of the uploaders, the number of daily and total views, likes, dislikes, comments and VPI were recorded. The reliability of the videos was determined using the modified DISCERN criteria for consumer health information, while the quality was determined with the GQS. RESULTS The mean length of the videos was found as 6.25 ± 5.20 min. Contents of the videos included general information, COVID-19, vaccination, diagnosis, patient experience and treatment. The most common contents were regarding COVID-19 and vaccination by 44%. The uploaders of the videos were classified as physicians, hospital channels, health channels, patients and others. Fourteen (28%) videos were directly uploaded by physicians. The most viewed, liked and disliked videos were uploaded by health channels. The mean VPI score was calculated as 92.89 ± 12.29. The mean DISCERN score of all videos was 3.88 ± 0.77 and the mean GQS score was 3.63 ± 0.85. Reliability and quality of the videos were moderate. CONCLUSION YouTube videos on myocarditis have mostly focused on the associations between myocarditis and COVID-19 disease and vaccination. Health-related contents on YouTube should be subjected to peer review and quality assessment.

Abstract
BACKGROUND YouTube has become an important social media platform for teaching nursing skills. However, the content, reliability and quality levels of the videos on this platform are not adequately known. OBJECTIVES This study aims to evaluate the content, reliability and quality of YouTube videos on ventrogluteal injection application. DESIGN Descriptive. SETTINGS Online. PARTICIPANTS 26 videos about ventrogluteal injection. METHODS Videos were searched using the keyword "ventrogluteal injection". The content of the 26 videos meeting the inclusion criteria were evaluated using the "Ventrogluteal Intramuscular Injection Skill Form", the reliability with the "DISCERN Questionnaire", and the quality levels using the "Global Quality Scale". The videos were categorized by their theme, type and upload source, and analysed statistically. RESULTS Of the 26 videos meeting the inclusion criteria, 21 (80.8%) were classified as useful information, 5 (19.2%) as misleading information by theme, 22 (84.6%) as educational, 4 (15.4%) as hormone therapy by type, 5 (19.2%) as official institutions, 13 (50%) as individual by source of uploads. The content, reliability, quality score of useful videos were higher than misleading videos. There was a significant difference (p < 0.05) between reliability score and the source of video uploads. Pairwise comparisons indicated that there was no statistically significant difference (p > 0.05) between the source of uploads of video and characteristics. CONCLUSIONS The use of the examined YouTube videos in the training of injection into the ventrogluteal site appears to have various risks in terms of ethics and patient safety. It may be suggested that the injection videos should be prepared by competent institutions/individuals, using best practice guides to increase the content, reliability and quality levels. It should particularly be borne in mind that videos on hormone therapy can be a public health threat.

Abstract
In this study, we aimed to investigate the reliability and quality of YouTube videos concerning Behçet disease, for the first time in the literature. The most viewed 50 YouTube videos about Behçet disease were included. Study data used in the analysis included video length, image type, video content, uploaders, time since the date of upload, the number of total views, daily views, and the numbers of like, dislike and comments. The Video Power Index was used to determine popularity of the videos. Reliability and quality of the videos were evaluated using DISCERN and Global Quality Scale (GQS) instruments. The examined YouTube videos were divided into two groups as uploaded by professionals (physicians, health and hospital channels, institutions and societies) and non-professionals (patients, social organizations, others). Twenty-three (46%) videos were uploaded by professionals. The mean DISCERN score was found as 3.98 ± 0.77 in the videos uploaded by healthcare professionals and 2.83 ± 0.64 in those uploaded by non-professionals (p < 0.01). The mean GQS score was found as 4.09 ± 0.72 in the videos uploaded by healthcare professionals and 3.41 ± 0.69 in those uploaded by non-professionals (p < 0.01). 46% of the videos were of low-to-moderate reliability and 56% of low-to-moderate quality. Nearly half of the YouTube videos concerning Behçet disease were uploaded by non-physician sources with poor reliability and quality. Physicians should be encouraged to upload more professional videos to help and guide patients appropriately. YouTube videos should be subjected to an objective evaluation for content quality before they can be published.

Abstract
HYPOTHESIS Vestibular rehabilitation (VR) education videos on YouTube are poor-quality and unreliable. BACKGROUND YouTube has become a health information source. Recent studies have determined that videos on YouTube contain misleading and inappropriate information for different medical conditions. The aim of the present study was to assess the quality and reliability of VR education videos. METHODS A search was performed using the keywords vertigo, vertigo treatment, vertigo exercise, and vestibular rehabilitation, on YouTube. The first 50 videos for each keyword were analyzed. Videos were divided into four groups according to the video source: Group 1: universities/occupational organizations, Group 2: medical ad/profit-oriented companies, Group 3: independent users, and Group 4: others (news/media/state institution). The quality and reliability of videos were evaluated regarding the modified DISCERN criteria, the modified Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) benchmark criteria, and global quality scores (GQS). RESULTS Among the 200 videos analyzed, 103 were included. The main video source was medical ad/profit-oriented companies (60.2%). The mean modified DISCERN criteria score, the mean modified JAMA benchmark criteria score, and the mean GQS value of the videos were found as low (2.46 ± 1.37, 2.09 ± 1.23, and 2.67 ± 1.38, respectively). Videos uploaded by universities/occupational organizations (25.2%) had statistically significant higher modified DISCERN criteria scores, modified JAMA benchmark criteria scores, and GQS values compared with the other groups (p < 0.001). CONCLUSION Online information about VR education on YouTube was of poor quality and unreliable. Expert vestibular providers should be aware of these inappropriate sources and educate patients regarding the poor-quality of videos and also aim to provide more quality and reliable sources of information.

Abstract
AIM Youtube is one of the most popular video-sharing websites, and people use Youtube as a source of information. Patients with urinary incontinence may seek information about their condition on Youtube. This study aims to assess the videos on Youtube about urinary incontinence and evaluate the information regarding whether patients can understand and/or act accordingly. METHODS We performed a Youtube search with the keywords of "incontinence," "urinary incontinence," and "overactive bladder" in the English language with the incognito mode on the browser. All links were extracted and recorded in an excel file. Duplicated links were removed, and metadata of the videos were collected. A custom python language script was used to perform this operation. We selected the most viewed 150 videos for the assessment. After removing the non-related videos, 112 of them were included in the study. Two researchers separately evaluated all the videos with the Patients Education Material Assessment Tool (PEMAT, audiovisual version). RESULTS The total duration of all included (n:112) videos was 12.6 hours, and these videos had been watched 37,332,178 times until the query date. The vast majority of the videos were about information, management, and treatment options (Kegel exercises, surgery modalities) of incontinence, individual experiences of patients with incontinence, commercials about the diapers, and healthcare professionals who wanted to introduce themselves or their services. Mean understandability and actionability scores of the videos were 57.9% and, 44.7% respectively. Our analysis showed that only 12.5% of the videos on Youtube related to incontinence were understandable, as well as actionable, in terms of PEMAT scores. CONCLUSION According to our study, 87.5% of the videos about incontinence on Youtube.com in the English language were not understandable and actionable for users. Development of high-quality content about incontinence is needed.
