Abstract
PURPOSE OF REVIEW In this narrative review, we provide an overview of how adherence to a Mediterranean dietary pattern can complement traditional treatment strategies for psoriasis, acne, and hidradenitis suppurativa. We emphasize the importance of an integrated approach, with dietary interventions as a key component of holistic patient care. RECENT FINDINGS Psoriasis, acne, and hidradenitis suppurativa are immune-mediated chronic diseases marked by systemic inflammation, with genetic and environmental factors influencing their onset. The Mediterranean diet, rich in plant-based foods with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties-such as whole-grain cereals, extra-virgin olive oil, vegetables, legumes, fruits, and nuts-has been shown to reduce the clinical severity of these conditions. It also supports weight control and positively impacts metabolic and cardiovascular risk factors, which are closely linked to these diseases. Dietary education, particularly about the Mediterranean diet, plays a crucial role in the management of these skin diseases and serves as an important non-pharmacological treatment option that can influence patient prognosis. This review offers specific nutrition recommendations for prescribing the Mediterranean diet to patients with chronic inflammatory skin diseases.

Abstract
Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory systemic disease that requires optimal long-term management due to its high prevalence in the population and the numerous comorbidities that severely impair quality of life. A variety of treatment options are now available. In addition to objective skin findings and a specific location such as nails or genital area, the presence of psoriatic arthritis and other comorbidities as well as the disease burden of the affected person play a decisive role in individualized treatment decision-making. Good communication with the patient is fundamental to understand the individual needs and expectations of the patient. Shared decision-making can positively influence adherence and thus also the clinical outcome and patient satisfaction. In addition, interdisciplinary collaboration is crucial and often necessary for a comprehensive therapy strategy.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Psoriasis is a chronic, inflammatory, non-communicable skin disorder that affects a patient's social and emotional well-being. It is characterized by hyperproliferation of keratinocytes, irregular shedding of skin cells, and abnormal invasion of inflammatory mediators. The treatment strategy is designed based on the severity of the disease condition starting from topical, phototherapy, systemic, and biologics. In recent years, extensive research into the underlying mechanisms of psoriasis has led to significant advancement in treatment options from small molecules to biologics. AREA COVERED This review focuses on intracellular and molecular mechanisms such as AhR, A3AR, RIP1, CGRP, and S1P that serve as novel pharmacological targets for psoriasis. Moreover, new molecules are approved or are under clinical investigation to interfere with these target mechanisms. EXPERT OPINION A detailed understanding of signaling pathways provides potential targets and molecular mechanisms for the inflammatory cascade in psoriasis. This has led to the development of small molecules targeting specific pathways. Further, the combination of nanotechnology can assist in dose reduction leading to reduced adverse effects in the management of psoriasis.
