Co-designing an Integrated Care Network With People Living With Parkinson's Disease: From Patients' Narratives to Trajectory Analysis

An integrated care model for people living with Parkinson's disease (PD) offers the promise of meeting complex care needs in a person-centered way that addresses fragmentation and improves quality of life. The purpose of our research was to co-design a care delivery model that supports both social and medical care from the perspective of patients and care partners. In the first step of our co-design approach, participants from five countries were invited to share their experiences of living with PD during a narrative interview. A qualitative analysis of these narrative interviews based on the Corbin and Strauss model was done to map out patients' trajectories. Three typical trajectories were identified: (a) the "unpredictable" trajectory, (b) the "situated" trajectory, and (c) the "demanding" trajectory. Based on the analysis of these trajectories, we were able to integrate various patient experiences into the design of an integrated care network.

Emission of nuclear quadrupole resonance from polycrystalline hexamethylenetetramine

The angular dependence of the nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) signal intensity emitted from polycrystalline hexamethylenetetramine has been analytically investigated for all directions for non-contact detection of chemicals by nuclear quadrupole resonance. The field pattern of the NQR signal from a column sample was measured. The emitted patterns were the same as that from a united single magnetic dipole, which fitted well to the estimation based on quadrupole principle axis system. This result is helpful to design an antenna for NQR remote detection.

Peripheral lymphocyte culture in the diagnosis of drug induced liver injury

In order to evaluate the usefulness of the peripheral lymphocyte culture method for the diagnosis of drug-induced liver injury, a study was carried out on 21 cases of drug-induced liver injury (Group A). Nine cases in Group A showed a positive lymphocyte stimulation test. Out of 9 cases which showed positive stimulation six cases were cholestatic type of liver injury, and the remaining three were of hepatitic type. The results suggest that peripheral lymphocyte culture method is a useful method for diagnosis of drug-induced liver injury.
