Abstract
BACKGROUND The management of congenital scoliosis poses a significant challenge for treating surgeons. The aim of our study was to provide insight into the long-term clinical results of spinal fusion in congenital scoliosis. METHODS We performed a retrospective review of the scoliosis database in our institution for the period 1976 until 2002 identifying 43 patients with congenital scoliosis who underwent spinal fusion. Patient demographics, diagnosis, levels fused, and radiographs were evaluated. Patients were evaluated for unplanned return to the operating room (UPROR) via SRS 22, EQ5D-5L, and Oswestry Disability Index (ODI). RESULTS Of the 43 patients who fulfilled the inclusion criteria, 22 patients agreed to participate, 3 patients were known to be deceased and 18 patients were lost to follow-up or declined to participate and were excluded. The mean age of the respondents was 40.7 years (range, 30 to 47 y) with a mean follow-up from index surgery of 35 years (range, 20 to 44 y). At most recent follow-up, 12 patients (54%) underwent UPROR. The mean age at diagnosis was 3.4 years (range, birth to 11.5 y), and the mean age for first surgery was 5.8 years (range, 1 to 13 y). As regards radiologic follow-up; the mean number of levels fused was 5.2 (range, 2 to 12). Thoracic fusion was performed in 17 patients (77%). The mean T1 to T12 height at index surgery and maturity was 166 mm (range, 130 to 240 mm) and 202 mm (range, 125 to 270 mm), respectively. The mean functional scores at follow-up were SRS 22: 4.5 (range, 2.4 to 5), cumulative EQ5D-5L score 7.2 (range, 5 to 15), and ODI: 8% (range, 2 to 30%). All respondents completed high school, 10 patients (45%) completed university, and 2 patients were awarded doctorates. Currently, 17 patients (77%) are in paid employment. CONCLUSIONS This report constitutes the largest series of patients treated by spinal arthrodesis for congenital scoliosis followed into maturity. We demonstrate the thorax continues to grow after index fusion, patient-reported outcomes were satisfactory with superior educational and employment rates and unplanned return to theatre is rare in adult life. Abstract
Identifying bioactive conformations of small molecules is an essential process for virtual screening applications relying on three-dimensional structure such as molecular docking. For most small molecules, conformer generators retrieve at least one bioactive-like conformation, with an atomic root-mean-square deviation (ARMSD) lower than 1 Å, among the set of low-energy conformers generated. However, there is currently no general method to prioritise these likely target-bound conformations in the ensemble. In this work, we trained atomistic neural networks (AtNNs) on 3D information of generated conformers of a curated subset of PDBbind ligands to predict the ARMSD to their closest bioactive conformation, and evaluated the early enrichment of bioactive-like conformations when ranking conformers by AtNN prediction. AtNN ranking was compared with bioactivity-unaware baselines such as ascending Sage force field energy ranking, and a slower bioactivity-based baseline ranking by ascending Torsion Fingerprint Deviation to the Maximum Common Substructure to the most similar molecule in the training set (TFD2SimRefMCS). On test sets from random ligand splits of PDBbind, ranking conformers using ComENet, the AtNN encoding the most 3D information, leads to early enrichment of bioactive-like conformations with a median BEDROC of 0.29 ± 0.02, outperforming the best bioactivity-unaware Sage energy ranking baseline (median BEDROC of 0.18 ± 0.02), and performing on a par with the bioactivity-based TFD2SimRefMCS baseline (median BEDROC of 0.31 ± 0.02). The improved performance of the AtNN and TFD2SimRefMCS baseline is mostly observed on test set ligands that bind proteins similar to proteins observed in the training set. On a more challenging subset of flexible molecules, the bioactivity-unaware baselines showed median BEDROCs up to 0.02, while AtNNs and TFD2SimRefMCS showed median BEDROCs between 0.09 and 0.13. When performing rigid ligand re-docking of PDBbind ligands with GOLD using the 1% top-ranked conformers, ComENet ranked conformers showed a higher successful docking rate than bioactivity-unaware baselines, with a rate of 0.48 ± 0.02 compared to CSD probability baseline with a rate of 0.39 ± 0.02. Similarly, on a pharmacophore searching experiment, selecting the 20% top-ranked conformers ranked by ComENet showed higher hit rate compared to baselines. Hence, the approach presented here uses AtNNs successfully to focus conformer ensembles towards bioactive-like conformations, representing an opportunity to reduce computational expense in virtual screening applications on known targets that require input conformations.

Abstract
In this work, libraries of crystallographically determined bond lengths, valence angles and torsion angles derived from the Cambridge Structural Database (CSD) are used to generate a score to validate an individual bond length, valence angle or torsion angle. A single score can also be derived for each ensemble of bond lengths, ensemble of valence angles and ensemble of torsion angles in the molecule. The data used to compute the score for the individual parts of the molecule are also used to compute a single value assessing the specific conformation relative to the geometric molecular data contained in the CSD. Such a single-number summary may be used, for example, to validate geometries of modelled molecules or molecular conformations in experimentally or computationally determined crystal structures. An example of how the score can be applied to an individual conformation is provided. Validation of the new score is performed by comparison with existing software for validating molecular geometries (Mogul) and a comparison with the CSD Conformer Generator scores is also carried out. Further application to the experimental standard deviation of C—C bonds of CSD entries is demonstrated, and the Platinum diverse data set is also studied.

Abstract
Introduction The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has had a significant impact on daily life. Restrictions imposed to help minimise virus transmission have limited both population movement and employment, as well as altering the potential mechanisms of high-energy trauma. The objective of this study was to assess the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on pelvic and acetabular trauma. Materials and methods A retrospective observational study of the incidence, causality, patient profile, fracture morphology, and treatment strategy of pelvic and acetabular trauma managed in a national tertiary referral specialist pelvic and acetabular centre between the 1st of March and 1st of August 2020 was undertaken and compared to corresponding time periods in the two preceding years. Results A total of 78 patients were referred for management following pelvic and acetabular trauma during the study period with a mean age of 52 years (SD +/- 24.2). Overall, 45% and 42% of patients were referred following isolated pelvic or acetabular fractures respectively. The most frequent mechanism of injury was a fall from height (>1m) (42%), with 53% of patients suffering from concomitant injuries and 32% requiring surgical management. While there was a statistically significant difference in mechanism of injury (P=0.026), there was no significant difference in overall incidence, fracture types, incidence of concomitant injuries, or overall proportion requiring surgical intervention during the study period when compared to previous years. Conclusion While some variation in the mechanisms of injury have been observed, the overall incidence, patient, fracture, and injury profiles associated with pelvic and acetabular trauma appear to have remained consistent during the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, the number and proportion of those requiring surgical treatment of these fractures have remained stable. Understanding the continued burden of these potentially severe injuries may help guide injury prevention, treatment, and resource allocation as the pandemic continues.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Horse riding related accidents can present with devastating pelvic and acetabular fractures. This study examines the nature, management and treatment outcomes of severe pelvic and acetabular trauma in amateur horse riders presenting to a national tertiary referral centre. We also aim to define certain at-risk groups. METHODS This was a retrospective descriptive cohort of all patients who were referred to the National Centre for Pelvic and Acetabular trauma resulting from horse riding accidents. All patients who were referred to the National Centre for Pelvic and Acetabular Trauma between January 2018 and July 2020 were included. Professional horse riders were excluded. Clinical and treatment outcome measures were stratified to four different mechanisms of injury: fall from horse (FFH), horse crush (HC), Horse Kick (HK) and Saddle Injury (SI). RESULTS There were 31 equestrian related injuries referred to our centre between January 2018 and July 2020. One patient was a professional jockey and was thus excluded from the study. Eighteen were female and the mean age at referral was 37 years old. The majority of these were pelvic ring injuries (73%). Fifty per cent of patients required surgical intervention and the majority of these were male. CONCLUSION Horse riding is a potentially dangerous recreational pursuit with significant risk of devastating injury. Pelvic and acetabular fractures secondary to horse riding are frequently associated with other injuries and the need operative intervention is common in this group. Young women and older men are higher risk groups.

Abstract
Case reports play a key role in showcasing new, unusual or rare disease(s), and the impact of newer therapeutic approaches or interventions. The Preferred Reporting Items for Case reports in Endodontics (PRICE) 2020 guidelines are being introduced exclusively for Endodontics by adapting and integrating the CAse REport (CARE) guidelines and Clinical and Laboratory Images in Publications principles. The PRICE 2020 guidelines have been developed to help authors improve the completeness, accuracy and transparency of case reports in Endodontics and thus enhance the standard of manuscripts submitted for publication. The aim of this document is to provide a comprehensive explanation for each item in the PRICE 2020 checklist along with examples from the literature that demonstrate compliance with these guidelines. This information will highlight the importance of each item and provide practical examples to help authors understand the necessity of providing comprehensive information when preparing case reports. Abstract
BACKGROUND Worse functional status correlates with increased mortality on the liver transplant (LT) waitlist. Whether functional status affects LT outcomes equally across cirrhosis etiologies is unclear. AIMS We evaluate the impact of functional status on waitlist and post-LT mortality stratified by etiology and age. METHODS Functional status among US adults from 2005 to 2017 United Network for Organ Sharing LT registry data was retrospectively evaluated using Karnofsky Performance Status Score (KPS-1 = functional status 80-100%, KPS-2 = 60-70%, KPS-3 = 40-50%, KPS-4 = 10-30%). Waitlist and post-LT survival were stratified by KPS and cirrhosis etiology, including alcoholic liver disease (ALD), nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), hepatitis C (HCV), and HCV/ALD, and evaluated using Kaplan-Meier and multivariate Cox proportional hazard models. RESULTS Among 94,201 waitlist registrants (69.4% men, 39.5% HCV, 26.7% ALD, 23.2% NASH), ALD patients had worse functional status compared to HCV (KPS-4: 17.2% vs. 8.3%, p < 0.001). Worse functional status at time of waitlist registration was associated with higher 90-day waitlist mortality with the greatest effect in ALD (KPS-4 vs. KPS-1: ALD HR 2.16, 95% CI 1.83-2.55; HCV HR 2.17, 95% CI 1.87-2.51). Similar trends occurred in 5-year post-LT survival with ALD patients the most harmed. Compared to patients < 50 years, patients ≥ 65 years had increased waitlist mortality at 90-days if they had HCV or HCV/ALD, and 5-year post-LT mortality regardless of cirrhosis etiology with ALD patients most severely affected. CONCLUSIONS In a retrospective cohort study of patients, US ALD patients had disparately worse functional status at time of LT waitlist registration. Worse functional status correlated with higher risk of waitlist and post-LT mortality, affecting ALD and HCV patients the most.

Abstract
Skin puckering is a feature observed in fractures that undergo large displacements at the time of initial injury and occur as a result of adherence of the dermal tissues to the underlying fracture fragment. Herein, we discuss the interesting case of a 47-year-old male who suffered a comminuted tibial shaft fracture which resulted in marked pretibial skin puckering prior to fracture reduction with striking corresponding images noted on computerised tomography (CT) scanning.

Abstract
The program Mercury, developed at the Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre, was originally designed primarily as a crystal structure visualization tool. Over the years the fields and scientific communities of chemical crystallography and crystal engineering have developed to require more advanced structural analysis software. Mercury has evolved alongside these scientific communities and is now a powerful analysis, design and prediction platform which goes a lot further than simple structure visualization.

The value of a hydrogen bond network prediction model was improved using a tool to increase prediction trust. Its accuracy could be improved up to 73% or 89% with the compromise that only 34% and 8% of the test examples could be predicted.

Abstract
BACKGROUND & AIMS Whether higher liver transplant (LT) waitlist mortality in patients with poor functional status (FS) is mediated by higher prevalence of cirrhosis complications is not clear. We aim to evaluate the impact of FS on risk of hepatic encephalopathy (HE), ascites, and spontaneous bacterial peritonitis (SBP) among adults listed for LT. METHODS Using 2005-2018 United Network for Organ Sharing LT data, we retrospectively evaluated the impact of FS on prevalence of ascites, HE, and SBP among adults listed for LT using Karnofsky Performance Status Score categories (KPSS-1: FS 80-100%, KPSS-2: 60-70%, KPSS-3: 40-50%, KPSS-4: 10-30%), stratified by underlying liver disease etiology. Between-group comparisons used chi-squared methods and adjusted multivariate logistic regression. RESULTS Among 100,618 adults listed for LT (68.8% male, 72.4% non-Hispanic white) 35.2% were KPSS-1, 36.6% KPSS-2, 15.7% KPSS-3, and 12.6% KPSS-4 at time of LT waitlist registration. Patients with worse FS were significantly more likely to have ascites, HE, and SBP at time of waitlist registration (KPSS-1 vs. KPSS-4: ascites, 66% vs. 93%; HE, 81% vs. 49%; SBP, 4% vs. 16%, p < 0.001 for all). On multivariate regression, compared with patients with KPSS-1, those with KPSS-4 had significantly higher odds of ascites (odds ratio [OR]: 1.49, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.37-1.62, p < 0.01), HE (OR: 1.69, 95% CI: 1.59-1.80, p < 0.01), and SBP (OR: 2.17, 95% CI: 1.98-2.38, p < 0.01), which was observed across all liver disease etiologies. CONCLUSION Worse FS is associated with higher odds of cirrhosis complications including ascites, HE, and SBP, which was observed across all liver disease etiologies.

Abstract
AIMS The neuropathophysiology of a debilitating chronic urologic pain condition, bladder pain syndrome (BPS), remains unknown. Our recent data suggests withdrawal of cardiovagal modulation in subjects with BPS, in contrast to sympathetic nervous system dysfunction in another chronic pelvic pain syndrome, myofascial pelvic pain (MPP). We evaluated whether comorbid disorders differentially associated with BPS vs MPP shed additional light on these autonomic differences. METHODS We compared the presence and relative time of onset of 27 other medical conditions in women with BPS, MPP, both syndromes, and healthy subjects. Analysis included an adjustment for multiple comparisons. RESULTS Among 107 female subjects (BPS alone = 32; BPS with MPP = 36; MPP alone = 9; healthy controls = 30), comorbidities differentially associated with BPS included irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), dyspepsia, and chronic nausea, whereas those associated with MPP included migraine headache and dyspepsia, consistent with the distinct autonomic neurophysiologic signatures of the two disorders. PTSD (earliest), anxiety, depression, migraine headache, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, and IBS usually preceded BPS or MPP. PTSD and the presence of both pelvic pain disorders in the same subject correlated with significantly increased comorbid burden. CONCLUSIONS Our study suggests a distinct pattern of comorbid conditions in women with BPS. These findings further support our hypothesis of primary vagal defect in BPS as compared with primary sympathetic defect in MPP, suggesting a new model for chronic these pelvic pain syndromes. Chronologically, PTSD, migraine, dysmenorrhea, and IBS occurred early, supporting a role for PTSD or its trigger in the pathophysiology of chronic pelvic pain.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate whether voiding parameters differ in patients with the common overlapping pelvic pain disorders, interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS), and myofascial pelvic pain (MPP). METHODS Uroflow and voiding diary assessed voiding phenotypes in this prospective cohort study (ICEPAC) of women comparing IC/BPS, IC/BPS +MPP, MPP, and healthy control (HC) subjects. RESULTS In 36 HC, 24 IC/BPS, 37 IC/BPS + MPP, and 14 MPP subjects, the voiding diary measurements indicate lower voided volumes in IC/BPS and IC/BPS + MPP groups (185 ± 24 mL, 169 ± 20 mL, respectively) compared to HC and MPP groups (294 ± 24 mL, 226 ± 36 mL, respectively; P <.05, P <.05), as well as higher 24-hour voiding frequency (11.6 ± 0.8 and 11 ± 1.2 voids/24 hours, respectively; HC 7.1 ± 0.5 voids/24 hours; P <.05, P <.05; MPP group 9 ± 1.2 voids/24 hours; P <.05, P <.05). Uroflow showed higher HC average flow rate (12.87 ± 0.92) compared to IC/BPS, IC/BPS+MPP, and MPP (8.31 ± 1.20, 8.02 ± 0.80, 8.17 ± 1.38, respectively; P <.01, P <.01, P <.05) and peak flow rate (27.0 ± 1.83) and IC/BPS, IC/BPS+MPP and MPP (16.20 ± 2.2, 17.33 ± 1.64, 17.21 ± 2.69 respectively; P <.01, P <.01, P <.05). CONCLUSION This quantitative evaluation of voiding diary and uroflow metrics reveals distinct voiding phenotypes, which can aid in the diagnosis of chronic pelvic pain syndromes. Patients with IC/BPS had more pain with a full bladder despite similar overall pain scores. Peak and average flow rates do not provide any differentiating power between IC/BPS and MPP patients. A longer time to peak flow may favor MPP though this finding needs confirmation.

Abstract
PURPOSE A systematic search and review of published studies was conducted on the use of automated speech analysis (ASA) tools for analysing and modifying speech of typically-developing children learning a foreign language and children with speech sound disorders to determine (i) types, attributes, and purposes of ASA tools being used; (ii) accuracy against human judgment; and (iii) performance as therapeutic tools. METHOD Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines were applied. Across nine databases, 32 articles published between January 2007 and December 2016 met inclusion criteria: (i) focussed on children's speech; (ii) tools used for speech analysis or modification; and (iii) reporting quantitative data on accuracy. RESULT Eighteen ASA tools were identified. These met the clinical threshold of 80% agreement with human judgment when used as predictors of intelligibility, impairment severity, or error category. Tool accuracy was typically <80% accuracy for words containing mispronunciations. ASA tools have been used effectively to improve to children's foreign language pronunciation. CONCLUSION ASA tools show promise for automated analysis and modification of children's speech production within assessment and therapeutic applications. Further work is needed to train automated systems with larger samples of speech to increase accuracy for assessment and therapeutic feedback.

Abstract
The impact of functional status on liver transplant (LT) waitlist outcomes is not well studied. Early evidence suggests frailty portends increased mortality. We aim to evaluate the association of functional status with LT waitlist survival and the probability of receiving LT among adults with cirrhosis. Using 2005-2016 United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) data, we retrospectively assessed the association of functional status, as determined by Karnofsky Performance Status Score (KPSS) with LT waitlist survival and the probability of receiving LT using Kaplan-Meier and multivariate Cox proportional hazard models. Among 118 954 patients listed for LT, patients with worse Karnofsky scores, indicating poor functional status, were progressively more likely to receive liver transplantation compared to patients with better scores, with the most functionally disabled group having 68% higher probability of receiving LT (HR 1.68; 95% CI 1.61-1.75, P < 0.001). Worse functional status was associated with increased waitlist mortality, with the most functionally disabled group 97% more likely to die on the waitlist (HR 1.97; 95% CI 1.81-2.16, P < 0.001). In conclusion, among patients awaiting LT, worse functional status was associated with significantly higher waitlist mortality.

Abstract
Fast generation of plausible molecular conformations is central to molecular modeling. This paper presents an approach to conformer generation that makes extensive use of the information available in the Cambridge Structural Database. By using geometric distributions derived from the Cambridge Structural Database, it is possible to create biologically relevant conformations in the majority of cases analyzed. The paper compares the performance of the approach with previously published evaluations, and presents some cases where the method fails. The method appears to show significantly improved performance in reproduction of the conformations of structures observed in the Cambridge Structural Database and the Protein Data Bank as compared to other published methods of a similar speed.

Abstract
Successful methodologies for theoretical crystal structure prediction (CSP) on flexible pharmaceutical-like organic molecules explore the lattice energy surface to find a set of plausible crystal structures. The initial search stages of CSP studies use relatively simple lattice energy approximations as hundreds of thousands of minima have to be considered. These generated crystal structures often have poor molecular geometries, as well as inaccurate lattice energy rankings, and performing reasonably accurate but computationally affordable optimisations of the crystal structures generated in a search would be highly desirable. Here, we seek to explore whether semi-empirical quantum-mechanical methods can perform this task. We employed the dispersion-corrected tight-binding Hamiltonian (DFTB3-D3) to relax all the inter- and intra-molecular degrees of freedom of several thousands of generated crystal structures of five pharmaceutical-like molecules, saving a large amount of computational effort compared to earlier studies. The computational cost scales better with molecular size and flexibility than other CSP methods, suggesting that it could be extended to even larger and more flexible molecules. On average, this optimisation improved the average reproduction of the eight experimental crystal structures (RMSD15) and experimental conformers (RMSD1) by 4% and 23%, respectively. The intermolecular interactions were then further optimised using distributed multipoles, derived from the molecular wave-functions, to accurately describe the electrostatic components of the intermolecular energies. In all cases, the experimental crystal structures are close to the top of the lattice energy ranking. Phonon calculations on some of the lowest energy structures were also performed with DFTB3-D3 methods to calculate the vibrational component of the Helmholtz free energy, providing further insights into the solid-state behaviour of the target molecules. We conclude that DFTB3-D3 is a cost-effective method for optimising flexible molecules, bridging the gap between the approximate methods used in CSP searches for generating crystal structures and more accurate methods required in the final energy ranking.

Abstract
Determining the range of conformations that a flexible pharmaceutical-like molecule could plausibly adopt in a crystal structure is a key to successful crystal structure prediction (CSP) studies. We aim to use conformational information from the crystal structures in the Cambridge Structural Database (CSD) to facilitate this task. The conformations produced by the CSD Conformer Generator are reduced in number by considering the underlying rotamer distributions, an analysis of changes in molecular shape, and a minimal number of molecular ab initio calculations. This method is tested for five pharmaceutical-like molecules where an extensive CSP study has already been performed. The CSD informatics-derived set of crystal structure searches generates almost all the low-energy crystal structures previously found, including all experimental structures. The workflow effectively combines information on individual torsion angles and then eliminates the combinations that are too high in energy to be found in the solid state, reducing the resources needed to cover the solid-state conformational space of a molecule. This provides insights into how the low-energy solid-state and isolated-molecule conformations are related to the properties of the individual flexible torsion angles.

Abstract
AIM To describe a sensory map of pelvic dermatomes in women with Interstitial Cystitis/Bladder Pain Syndrome (IC/BPS). We hypothesized that if IC/BPS involves changes in central processing, then women with IC/BPS will exhibit sensory abnormalities in neurologic pelvic dermatomes. METHODS Women with IC/BPS and healthy controls underwent neurologic examination that included evaluation of sharp pain sensitivity and vibration in dermatomes T12, L1, L2, S1-5. Peripheral nervous system sensitivity to pressure, vibration, and pinprick were scored using numeric rating scales (NRS). Bilateral comparisons were made with Wilcoxon signed-rank test and comparisons between groups were made by the Mann-Whitney U-test. RESULTS Total of 74 women with IC/BPS and 36 healthy counterparts were included. IC/BPS and control groups had similar age (43.0 ± 14.1 and 38.6 ± 15.3 years, P = 0.14) and BMI (28.9 ± 8.0 kg/m2 and 26.9 ± 8.4 kg/m2 , P = 0.24), respectively. Women with IC/BPS reported hyperalgesia (elevated bilateral NRS pain intensity) in all pelvic dermatomes compared to healthy controls. S4-S5 region had the highest pain intensity in all participants. All IC/BPS participants exhibited vibration sensation hypoesthesia, at least unilaterally, in all of the pelvic dermatomes except L1 compared to healthy controls. CONCLUSION This detailed map of neurologic pelvic dermatomes in women with IC/BPS found hyperalgesia in all pelvic dermatomes, and some evidence of vibration sensation hypoesthesia, compared to healthy controls. These findings support the hypothesis that IC/BPS may involve changes in central signal processing biased towards nociception.

Abstract
BACKGROUND It is known that skin pigmentation reduces the penetration of ultraviolet radiation (UVR) and thus photosynthesis of 25-hydroxvitamin D (25(OH)D). However ethnic differences in 25(OH)D production remain to be elucidated. OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to investigate differences in vitamin D production between UK South Asian and Caucasian postmenopausal women, in response to a defined and controlled exposure to UVR. DESIGN Seventeen women; 9 white Caucasian (skin phototype II and III), 8 South Asian women (skin phototype IV and V) participated in the study, acting as their own controls. Three blood samples were taken for the measurement of vitamin D status during the run in period (9days, no sunbed exposure) after which, all subjects underwent an identical UVR exposure protocol irrespective of skin colour (9 days, 3 sun bed sessions, 6, 8 and 8min respectively with approximately 80% body surface exposed). Skin tone was measured four times during the study. RESULTS Despite consistently lower 25(OH)D levels in South Asian women, they were shown to synthesise vitamin D as efficiently as Caucasians when exposed to the same dose of UVR. Interestingly, the baseline level of vitamin D rather than ethnicity and skin tone influenced the amount of vitamin D synthesised. CONCLUSIONS This study have found no ethnic differences in the synthesis of 25(OH)D, possibly due to the baseline differences in 25(OH)D concentration or due to the small population size used in this study. Applying mixed linear model, findings indicated no effect of ethnicity and skin tone on the production of vitamin D; baseline level and length of exposure were the critical factors. To confirm that ethnicity and skin tone has no effect on 25(OH)D production, a larger sample size study is required that considers other ethnic groups with highly pigmented skin. Abstract
This analysis attempts to answer the question of whether similar molecules crystallize in a similar manner. An analysis of structures in the Cambridge Structural Database shows that the answer is yes - sometimes they do, particularly for single-component structures. However, one does need to define what we mean by similar in both cases. Building on this observation we then demonstrate how this correlation between shape similarity and packing similarity can be used to generate potential lattices for molecules with no known crystal structure. Simple intermolecular interaction potentials can be used to minimize these potential lattices. Finally we discuss the many limitations of this approach.

Abstract
The sixth blind test of organic crystal structure prediction (CSP) methods has been held, with five target systems: a small nearly rigid molecule, a polymorphic former drug candidate, a chloride salt hydrate, a co-crystal and a bulky flexible molecule. This blind test has seen substantial growth in the number of participants, with the broad range of prediction methods giving a unique insight into the state of the art in the field. Significant progress has been seen in treating flexible molecules, usage of hierarchical approaches to ranking structures, the application of density-functional approximations, and the establishment of new workflows and `best practices' for performing CSP calculations. All of the targets, apart from a single potentially disordered Z' = 2 polymorph of the drug candidate, were predicted by at least one submission. Despite many remaining challenges, it is clear that CSP methods are becoming more applicable to a wider range of real systems, including salts, hydrates and larger flexible molecules. The results also highlight the potential for CSP calculations to complement and augment experimental studies of organic solid forms.

Abstract
An effective approach to reducing recidivism is, first, to identify a youth's risk of reoffending and then to match the intensity of interventions to that risk level. This pre-post quasi-experimental, prospective study compared 247 (pre) with 217 (post) adjudicated youths to examine the implementation of the Structured Assessment of Violence Risk in Youth (SAVRY) and its effects on case management practices in Louisiana's Caddo parish probation office. The results indicated that placement rates dropped by 50%, use of maximum levels of supervision dropped by almost 30%, and use of community services decreased except for high-risk youths, but only after the SAVRY was properly implemented. This shift towards more appropriate allocation of resources that are matched to risk level occurred without a significant increase in reoffending. The implications for implementation and for use of risk/needs assessment in juvenile probation are discussed.
