Abstract
BACKGROUND Using in vivo neuroimaging techniques, growing evidence has demonstrated that the choroid plexus (CP) volume is enlarged in patients with several neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease. However, although animal and postmortem findings suggest that CP abnormalities are likely important pathological mechanisms underlying amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), the third most common neurodegenerative disease, no available study has been conducted to thoroughly assess CP abnormalities and their clinical relevance in vivo in ALS patients to date. Thus, we aimed to determine whether in vivo CP enlargement may occur in ALS patients. We also aimed to identify the relationships of CP volume with clinical disabilities and blood-CSF barrier (BCSFB) permeability in ALS patients. METHODS In this retrospective study, based on structural MRI data, CP volume was assessed using a Gaussian mixture model and underwent further manual correction in 155 ALS patients and 105 age- and sex-matched HCs from October 2021 to April 2023. The ALS Functional Rating Scale-Revised (ALSFRS-R) was used to assess clinical disability. The CSF/serum albumin quotient (Qalb) was used to assess BCSFB permeability. Moreover, all the ALS patients completed genetic testing, and according to genetic testing, the ALS patients were further divided into genetic ALS subgroup and sporadic ALS subgroup. RESULTS We found that compared with HCs, ALS patients had a significantly higher CP volume (p < 0.001). Moreover, compared with HCs, CP volume was significantly increased in both ALS patients with and without known genetic mutations after family-wise error correction (p = 0.006 and p < 0.001, respectively), while there were no significant differences between the two ALS groups. Furthermore, the CP volume was significantly correlated with the ALSFRS-r score (r = -0.226; p = 0.005) and the Qalb (r = 0.479; p < 0.001) in ALS patients. CONCLUSION Our study first demonstrates CP enlargement in vivo in ALS patients, and continues to suggest an important pathogenetic role for CP abnormalities in ALS. Moreover, assessing CP volume is likely a noninvasive and easy-to-implement approach for screening BCSFB dysfunction in ALS patients.

Abstract
BACKGROUND This study aimed to elucidate the clinical significance and regulatory mechanism of the long non-coding RNA OIP5-AS1 in severe community-acquired pneumonia (SCAP) among paediatric patients. METHODS qRT-PCR was used to assess the mRNA levels of OIP5-AS1. ROC curve analysis was used to assess the diagnostic significance of OIP5-AS1. Short-term prognostic significance was evaluated through Kaplan-Meier survival. An in vitro cell model was developed using LPS-induced MRC-5 cells. CCK-8, flow cytometry, and ELISA were conducted to measure cell viability, apoptosis, and inflammatory factor levels. The association between miR-150-5p and PDCD4 was confirmed through DLR assays. RESULTS Elevated OIP5-AS1 were observed in paediatric patients with SCAP, which enabled effective differentiation from healthy individuals. High expression of OIP5-AS1 correlated with reduced survival rates. OIP5-AS1 knockdown attenuated cell viability suppression and the promotion of apoptosis and inflammatory factors induced by LPS. However, this attenuation was reversed by reduced levels of miR-150-5p. miR-150-5p was identified as a target of PDCD4 and OIP5-AS1. CONCLUSION Increased OIP5-AS1 levels show potential as a valuable diagnostic and prognostic biomarker for paediatric patients with SCAP. This study illustrates its role in regulating cell viability, apoptosis, and the inflammatory response via the miR-150-5p/PDCD4 axis, acting as a ceRNA.

Abstract
Recently, an astrocytic aquaporin 4-dependent drainage system, that is, the glymphatic system, has been identified in the live murine and human brain. Growing evidence suggests that glymphatic function is impaired in patients with several neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. As the third most common neurodegenerative disease, although animal studies have indicated that early glymphatic dysfunction is likely an important pathological mechanism underpinning amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), no available study has been conducted to thoroughly assess glymphatic function in vivo in ALS patients to date, particularly in patients with early-stage ALS. Thus, using diffusion tensor imaging analysis along the perivascular space (ALPS) index, an approximate measure of glymphatic function in vivo, we aimed to explore whether glymphatic function is impaired in patients with patients with early-stage ALS, and the diagnostic performance of the ALPS index in distinguishing between patients with early-stage ALS and healthy subjects. We also aimed to identify the relationships between glymphatic dysfunction and clinical disabilities and sleep problems in patients with early-stage ALS. In this retrospective study, King's Stage 1 ALS patients were defined as patients with early-stage ALS. We enrolled 56 patients with early-stage ALS and 32 age- and sex-matched healthy control subjects. All participants completed clinical screening, sleep assessment and ALPS index analysis. For the sleep assessment, the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, Epworth Sleepiness Scale and polysomnography were used. Compared with healthy control subjects, patients with early-stage ALS had a significantly lower ALPS index after family-wise error correction (P < 0.05). Moreover, receiver operating characteristic analysis showed that the area under the curve for the ALPS index was 0.792 (95% confidence interval 0.700-0.884). Partial correlation analyses showed that the ALPS index was significantly correlated with clinical disability and sleep disturbances in patients with early-stage ALS. Multivariate analysis showed that sleep efficiency (r = 0.419, P = 0.002) and periodic limb movements in sleep index (r = -0.294, P = 0.017) were significant predictive factors of the ALPS index in patients with early-stage ALS. In conclusion, our study continues to support an important role for glymphatic dysfunction in ALS pathology, and we provide additional insights into the early diagnostic value of glymphatic dysfunction and its correlation with sleep disturbances in vivo in patients with early-stage ALS. Moreover, we suggest that early improvement of glymphatic function may be a promising strategy for slowing the neurodegenerative process in ALS. Future studies are needed to explore the diagnostic and therapeutic value of glymphatic dysfunction in individuals with presymptomatic-stage neurodegenerative diseases.

Abstract
To investigate the effect of ganciclovir combined with interferon atomization inhalation on T lymphocyte subsets in patients with Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection and its efficacy. Fifty patients with EBV infection who received ganciclovir combined with interferon atomization inhalation were selected as the observation group, and 50 healthy people were selected as the control group. The changes of T lymphocyte subsets in peripheral blood were detected by flow cytometry before treatment and at the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th cycle after treatment. Before treatment, the CD3+, CD4+, CD4+/CD8+ indexes of the patients were significantly lower than those of the control group (P < .05), and the CD8+ level was significantly increased (P < .05). After one cycle of treatment, there was no significant difference in the changes of T lymphocyte subsets compared with those before treatment. After 2 and 3 cycles of treatment, CD3+, CD4+, CD4+/CD8+ values were higher than those before treatment (P > .05), and CD8+ index was lower than that before treatment (P < .05). After the 4th cycle of treatment, CD3+, CD4+, CD4+/CD8+ values were significantly improved (P < .05), and CD8+ index was significantly decreased (P < .05). Ganciclovir combined with interferon atomization inhalation can regulate the changes of T lymphocyte subsets in patients with EBV infection, improve the patient's condition, and has no obvious adverse reactions. Monitoring the changes of T lymphocyte subsets during treatment is more meaningful to predict the therapeutic effect of patients with EB virus infection.

Abstract
Background Cognitive impairment (CI) is an important extrapulmonary complication in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Multimodal Neuroimaging Examination can display changes in brain structure and functions in patients with COPD. Objective The purpose of this systematic review is to provide an overview of the variations in brain imaging in patients with COPD and their potential relationship with CI. Furthermore, we aim to provide new ideas and directions for future research. Methods Literature searches were performed using the electronic databases PubMed, Scopus, and ScienceDirect. All articles published between January 2000 and November 2021 that met the eligibility criteria were included. Results Twenty of the 23 studies focused on changes in brain structure and function. Alterations in the brain's macrostructure are manifested in the bilateral frontal lobe, hippocampus, right temporal lobe, motor cortex, and supplementary motor area. The white matter microstructural changes initially appear in the bilateral frontal subcortical region. Regarding brain function, patients with COPD exhibited reduced frontal cerebral perfusion and abnormal alterations in intrinsic brain activity in the bilateral posterior cingulate cortex, precuneus, right lingual gyrus, and left anterior central gyrus. Currently, there is limited research related to brain networks. Conclusion CI in patients with COPD may present as a type of dementia different from Alzheimer's disease, which tends to manifest as frontal cognitive decline early in the disease. Further studies are required to clarify the neurobiological pathways of CI in patients with COPD from the perspective of brain connectomics based on the whole-brain system in the future.

Abstract
Sleep disorders frequently result in poor memory, attention deficits, as well as a worse prognosis for neurodegenerative changes, such as Alzheimer's disease. The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of sleep disorders on cognition. We screened four databases for all meta-analyses and systematic reviews from the establishment through March 2022. We have carried out quality evaluation and review the eligible systematic reviews. Evidence grading and quality assessment were performed on 22 eligible articles. Sleep deprivation primarily affects simple attention, complex attention, and working memory in cognition and alertness. The moderate-to-high-quality evidence proves optimal sleep time as 7-8 h. Sleep time outside this range increases the risk of impaired executive function, non-verbal memory, and working memory. Sleep-related breathing disorders is more likely to cause mild cognitive impairment and affects several cognitive domains. In older adults, insomnia primarily affects working memory, episodic memory, inhibitory control, cognitive flexibility, problem-solving, operational ability, perceptual function, alertness, and complex attention, and maintaining sensitivity. Sleep disturbances significantly impair cognitive function, and early detection and intervention may be critical steps in reducing poor prognosis. A simple neuropsychological memory test could be used to screen people with sleep disorders for cognitive impairment. Abstract
Sleep is an essential physiological function that sustains human life. Sleep disorders involve problems with the quality, duration, and abnormal behaviour of sleep. Insomnia is the most common sleep disorder, followed by sleep-disordered breathing (SDB). Sleep disorders often occur along with medical conditions or other mental health conditions. Of particular interest to researchers is the role of sleep disorders in cognitive dysfunction. Sleep disorder is a risk factor for cognitive dysfunction, yet the exact pathogenesis is still far from agreement. Little is known about how sex differences influence the changes in cognitive functions caused by sleep disorders. This narrative review examines how sleep disorders might affect cognitive impairment, and then explores the sex-specific consequences of sleep disorders as a risk factor for dementia and the potential underlying mechanisms. Some insights on the direction of further research are also presented.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Cognitive impairment is the most common clinical manifestation of ischemic leukoaraiosis (ILA), but the underlying neurobiological pathways have not been well elucidated. Recently, it was thought that ILA is a "disconnection syndrome". Disorganized brain connectome were considered the key neuropathology underlying cognitive deficits in ILA patients. OBJECTIVE We aimed to detect the disruption of network hubs in ILA patients using a new analytical method called voxel-based eigenvector centrality (EC) mapping. METHODS Subjects with moderate to severe white matters hyperintensities (Fazekas score ≥3) and healthy controls (HCs) (Fazekas score = 0) were included in the study. The resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging and the EC mapping approach were performed to explore the alteration of whole-brain network connectivity in ILA patients. RESULTS Relative to the HCs, the ILA patients exhibited poorer cognitive performance in episodic memory, information processing speed, and executive function (all ps < 0.0125). Additionally, compared with HCs, the ILA patients had lower functional connectivity (i.e., EC values) in the medial parts of default-mode network (i.e., bilateral posterior cingulate gyrus and ventral medial prefrontal cortex [vMPFC]). Intriguingly, the functional connectivity strength at the right vMPFC was positively correlated with executive function deficit in the ILA patients. CONCLUSION The findings suggested disorganization of the hierarchy of the default-mode regions within the whole-brain network in patients with ILA and advanced our understanding of the neurobiological mechanism underlying executive function deficit in ILA.

Abstract
Objective: To study the characteristics and significance of changes in the thickness of the outer retinal layer (ORL) outside the macula in patients with reticular macular disease (RMD). Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted. The clinical data of patients who visited the Department of Ophthalmology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University from February to September 2019 were retrospectively collected. Thirty-one patients with at least one eye (54 eyes in total) diagnosed with early/mid-stage age-related macular degeneration (AMD) were consecutively included in the AMD group, and 33 patients with at least one eye (64 eyes in total) showing subretinal wart-like deposits on optical coherence tomography images were consecutively included in the RMD group. Thirty-two volunteers aged between 50 to 90 years with a normal fundus in both eyes (64 eyes in total) were consecutively included in the healthy control (HC) group. Frequency domain optical coherence tomography was applied to examine and analyze the thickness features of the ORL, inner retinal layer and choroid at the macular fovea (F), 2 mm of the temporal edge (T), the nasal edge (N), the superior edge (S) and inferior edge (I) of the macular fovea in each group. The correlations of the thickness of ORL with the choroidal thickness and the blood flow density of the choriocapillaris layer in patients with RMD were also analyzed. Results: The thickness of ORL at the F, T, S and I sites in the RMD group was significantly thinner than that in the AMD and HC groups. The difference was most obvious at the F site [(90.27±8.93), (98.04±11.7) and (97.19±7.02)μm] in the RMD, AMD and HC groups, respectively; all P<0.01). In the logistic regression model with independent variables of the ORL thickness at the macular F site, gender and age, there was a significant association between the thickness of ORL at the F site and the incidence of RMD (odds ratio=0.926, P<0.05). The ORL and choroid in the eyes of patients with RMD were significantly thinner at the F site [(90.27±8.93) and (163.21±72.43) μm, respectively; both P<0.01] compared with the AMD [(98.04±11.7) and (235.34±64.15) μm, respectively] and HC [(97.19±7.02) and (240.08±62.27) μm, respectively] groups. However, the ORL and choroidal thickness did not show significant and strong linear correlations at multiple sites. In contrast, there was a significant linear correlation between the blood flow density of the choriocapillaris layer and the thickness of ORL at the F, T and S sites in patients with RMD (r=0.487, 0.722, 0.467, respectively; all P<0.05). Conclusions: The thickness of ORL outside the macula of eyes with RMD is thinner than that of healthy eyes and eyes with early/mid-stage AMD. The thinning of ORL outside the macula is related to the decrease in the blood flow density of the choriocapillaris layer in patients with RMD.

Abstract
ZIF-67-derived magnetic metal/carbon composites are considered prospective candidates for use as microwave absorption (MA) materials owing to their magnetoelectric synergy. However, the structure of ZIF-67-derived MA materials mainly depends on the morphology and composition of pristine metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), and their microstructures lack a rational design. Herein, a multidimensional sea urchin-like carbon nanotubes (CNTs)-grafted carbon polyhedra-encapsulated Co3ZnC/Co nanoparticle composite was prepared by one-step catalytic pyrolysis of ZIF-67/ZnO using a rational structural design. The autogenous and tunable CNTs obtained with the assistance of zinc evaporation not only overcome the limitation of homogeneous dispersion but also endow the Co3ZnC/Co/C composite with outstanding MA properties owing to the conduction loss provided by CNTs, polarization loss caused by multiple components, and electromagnetic wave trap composed of a special sea urchin-like structure. Consequently, the minimum reflection loss of ZZ0.1-600 reaches -60.3 dB at 1.6 mm, the maximum absorption bandwidth of ZZ0.05-600 is 6.24 GHz (covering nearly the entire Ku band) at 1.9 mm, and the structure has a low weight ratio (30 wt %). Compared with Z-600 and pure ZnO, the MA performance of the sea urchin-like Co3ZnC/Co/C composite obtained by rational structural design has been greatly improved; this strategy offers a new approach for optimizing the MA performance of materials according to their structural design.

Abstract
Background and purpose We previously established a radiological protocol to discriminate multiple system atrophy-parkinsonian subtype (MSA-P) from Parkinson’s disease (PD). However, we do not know if it can differentiate early stage disease. This study aimed to investigate whether the morphological and intensity changes in susceptibility weighted imaging (SWI) of the lentiform nucleus (LN) could discriminate MSA-P from PD at early stages. Methods We retrospectively enrolled patients with MSA-P, PD and sex- and age-matched controls whose brain MRI included SWI, between January 2015 and July 2020 at the Movement Disorder Center. Two specialists at the center reviewed the medical records and made the final diagnosis, and two experienced neuroradiologists performed MRI analysis, based on a defined and revised protocol for conducting morphological measurements of the LN and signal intensity. Results Nineteen patients with MSA-P and 19 patients with PD, with less than 2 years of disease duration, and 19 control individuals were enrolled in this study. We found that patients with MSA- P presented significantly decreased size in the short line (SL) and corrected short line (cSL), ratio of the SL to the long line (SLLr) and corrected SLLr (cSLLr) of the LN, increased standard deviation of signal intensity (SIsd_LN, cSIsd_LN) compared to patients with PD and controls (P < 0.05). With receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis, this finding had a sensitivity of 89.5% and a specificity of 73.7% to distinguish MSA- P from PD. Conclusion Compared to PD and controls, patients with MSA-P are characterized by a narrowing morphology of the posterior region of the LN. Quantitative morphological changes provide a reference for clinical auxiliary diagnosis.

Abstract
To examine selective atrophy patterns and resting-state functional connectivity (FC) alterations in the amygdala at different stages of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and to explore any correlations between amygdala abnormalities and neuropsychiatric symptoms. We used the King's clinical staging system for ALS to divide 83 consecutive patients with ALS into comparable subgroups at different disease stages. We explored the pattern of selective amygdala subnucleus atrophy and amygdala-based whole-brain FC alteration in these patients and 94 healthy controls (HCs). Cognitive and emotional functions were also evaluated using a neuropsychological test battery. There were no significant differences between ALS patients at King's stage 1 and HCs for any amygdala subnucleus volumes. Compared with HCs, ALS patients at King's stage 2 had significantly lower left accessory basal nucleus and cortico-amygdaloid transition volumes. Furthermore, ALS patients at King's stage 3 demonstrated significant reductions in most amygdala subnucleus volumes and global amygdala volumes compared with HCs. Notably, amygdala-cuneus FC was increased in ALS patients at King's stage 3. Specific subnucleus volumes were significantly associated with Mini-Mental State Examination scores and Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale scores in ALS patients. In conclusions, our study provides a comprehensive profile of amygdala abnormalities in ALS patients. The pattern of amygdala abnormalities in ALS patients differed greatly across King's clinical disease stages, and amygdala abnormalities are an important feature of patients with ALS at relatively advanced stages. Moreover, our findings suggest that amygdala volume may play an important role in anxiety and cognitive dysfunction in ALS patients.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Long non-coding antisense RNAs in the INK4 locus (lnc-ANRIL) have been reported to be involved in inflammation and immunity. However, few studies have reported its clinical application in pediatric inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Therefore, we conducted this study to investigate the correlation between lnc-ANRIL expression and disease risk, inflammation, and activity in pediatric IBD patients. METHODS Pediatric patients with Crohn's disease (CD; n = 40), ulcerative colitis (UC; n = 40), and controls (n = 20) were recruited. For all pediatric IBD patients, lnc-ANRIL expression in peripheral blood mononuclear cells and serum inflammatory cytokine levels were measured by RT-qPCR and ELISA, respectively. For the controls, lnc-ANRIL expression was also measured. RESULTS Lnc-ANRIL levels were lower in CD (P = 0.002) and UC (P = 0.001) patients compared with the controls; negatively correlated with C-reactive protein levels (P<0.01), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (P<0.01), disease activity (P<0.05), and severity (P<0.05) in CD and UC patients; and inversely associated with tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, interleukin (IL)-6, IL-17, and IL-23 levels in both CD and UC patients (all P<0.01). Further subgroup analyses revealed that the association between lnc-ANRIL and inflammatory cytokines and disease activity was more remarkable in pediatric patients with moderate or severe IBD. CONCLUSION Lnc-ANRIL may serve as a potential marker for evaluating disease risk and monitoring disease activity in pediatric IBD patients.

Methods We retrospectively recruited 52 patients with severe stenosis or occlusion in the unilateral middle cerebral artery (MCA), and brain CT perfusion showed an MCA area with deficit perfusion. Radiomics features were extracted from the stenosis side and contralateral of the MCA area based on precontrast CT. Two different region of interest drawing methods were applied. Then the patients were randomly grouped into training and testing sets by the ratio of 8:2. In the training set, ANOVA and the Elastic Net Regression with fivefold cross-validation were conducted to filter and choose the optimized features. Moreover, different machine learning models were built. In the testing set, the area under the receiver operating characteristic (AUC) curve, calibration, and clinical utility were applied to evaluate the predictive performance of the models. Results The logistic regression (LR) for the triangle-contour method and artificial neural network (ANN) for the semiautomatic-contour method were chosen as radiomics models for their good prediction efficacy in the training phase (AUC = 0.869, 0.873) and the validation phase (AUC = 0.793, 0.799). The radiomics algorithms of the triangle-contour and semiautomatic-contour method were implemented in the whole training set (AUC = 0.870, 0.867) and were evaluated in the testing set (AUC = 0.760, 0.802). According to the optimal cutoff value, these two methods can classify the vascular stenosis side class and normal side class. Conclusion Radiomic predictive feature based on precontrast CT image could reflect the difference of cerebral hemispheric perfusion to some extent.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The aim of this study is to assess the validity of whether the difference in dental age between 2009 to 2011 and 2021 is affected by environmental factors such as environmental pollution, floating population, and dietary habits. Demirjian and Willems dental age estimation methods were conducted for a Han population of children aged 8 to 14 in Shanghai, China. A total of 1,259 digital panorama radiographs of children aged 8.00-14.99 was estimated. All digital panorama radiographs were estimated using the Demirjian and Willems methods. MATERIALS AND METHODS Both 2009 to 2011 and 2021 were statistically analyzed by paired t-tests. The results show that the Demirjian method overestimates 2009 to 2011 and underestimates 2021 than children's chronological age. According to the Willms method, males are overestimated and females are underestimated from 2009 to 2011, and both genders were underestimated in 2021. CONCLUSIONS In conclusion, the difference in dental age between 2009 to 2011 and 2021 was statistically significant. Factors such as environment and dietary habits have been found to be affected by dental development. However, there are disputes among some researchers about the exact factors, so it is suggested to further study the effects of environmental factors on tooth development.

Abstract
Background Previous radiomics analyses of hematoma expansion have been based on the traditional definition, which only focused on changes in intraparenchymal volume. However, the ability of radiomics-related models to predict revised hematoma expansion (RHE) with the inclusion of intraventricular hemorrhage expansion remains unclear. To develop and validate a noncontrast computed tomography (NCCT)-based clinical- semantic-radiomics nomogram to identify supratentorial spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage (sICH) patients with RHE on admission. Methods In this double-center retrospective study, data from 376 patients with sICH (training set: n=299; test set: n=77; external validation cohort: n=91) were reviewed. A radiomics model, a clinical-semantic model, and a combined model were then constructed based on the logistic regression machine learning approach. Radiomics features were extracted and selected by least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) with 5-fold cross validation. Furthermore, the classical BRAIN scoring system was also constructed to predict RHE. Discriminative performance of the models was evaluated on the training and test set with area under the curve (AUC) and decision curve analysis (DCA). Results The addition of radiomics to clinical-semantic factors significantly improved the prediction performance of RHE compared with the clinical-semantic model alone in the training (AUC, 0.94 vs. 0.81, P<0.05) and test (AUC, 0.84 vs. 0.71, P<0.05) sets, with similar results in the validation set (AUC, 0.83 vs. 0.69, P<0.05). Moreover, the discrimination efficacy of the BRAIN score was significantly lower than the other 3 models (AUC of 0.71 in the training set, P<0.05). Conclusions The clinical-semantic-radiomics combined model had the greatest potential for discriminating RHE, and significantly outperformed the classical BRAIN scoring system.

Abstract
Aging has been recognized as a major driving force of the Alzheimer's disease's (AD) progression, however, the relationship between brain aging and AD is still unclear. There is also a lack of studies investigating the influence of AD risk factors on brain aging in cognitively normal people. Here, the "Brain Age Gap Estimation" (BrainAGE) framework was applied to investigate the effects of AD risk factors on individual brain aging. Across a total of 165 cognitively normal elderly subjects, although no significant difference was observed in the BrainAGE scores among the three groups, AD risk dose (i.e., the number of AD risk factors) is tend to associated with an increased BrainAGE scores (high-risk > middle risk > low risk). Female exhibited more advanced brain aging (P = 0.004), and higher education years were associated with preserved brain aging (P < 0.001). APOE-ɛ4 (P = 0.846) and family history (FH) of dementia (P = 0.209) did not increase BrainAGE scores. When comparing 52 aMCI patients with 38 cognitively normal controls from ADNI dataset, aMCI patients showed significantly increased BrainAGE scores. BrainAGE scores were negatively correlated with CSF Aβ42 levels in the aMCI group (r = -0.275, P = 0.048). With an accuracy of 68.9%, BrainAGE outperformed APOE-ɛ4 and hippocampus gray matter volume (GMV) in predicting aMCI. In conclusion, AD is independently associated with structural changes in the brain that reflect advanced aging. Potentially, BrainAGE combined with APOE-ɛ4 and hippocampus GMV could be used as a pre-screening tool in early-stage AD.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate atrophy patterns in hypothalamic subunits at different stages of ALS and examine correlations between hypothalamic subunit volume and clinical information. METHODS We used the King's clinical staging system to divide 91 consecutive ALS patients into the different disease stages. We investigated patterns of hypothalamic atrophy using a recently published automated segmentation method in ALS patients and in 97 healthy controls. We recorded all subjects' demographic and clinical information. RESULTS Compared with healthy controls, we found significant atrophy in the bilateral anterior-superior subunit and the superior tubular subunit, as well as a reduction in global hypothalamic volume in ALS patients. When we used the King's clinical staging system to divide patients into the different disease stages, we found neither global nor specific subunit atrophy until King's stage 3 in the hypothalamus. Moreover, specific subunit volumes were significantly associated with body mass index. CONCLUSIONS In a relatively large sample of Chinese patients with ALS, using a recently published automated segmentation method for the hypothalamus, we found the pattern of hypothalamic atrophy in ALS patients differed greatly across King's clinical disease stages. Moreover, specific hypothalamic subunit atrophy may play an important role in energy metabolism in ALS patients. Thus, our findings suggest that hypothalamic atrophy may have potential phenotypic associations, and improved energy metabolism may become an important component of individualised therapy for ALS.

Abstract
Deep learning (DL)-based convolutional neural networks facilitate more accurate detection and rapid analysis of MLS. Our objective was to assess the feasibility of applying a DL-based convolutional neural network to non-contrast computed tomography (CT) for automated 2D/3D brain midline shift measurement and outcome prediction after spontaneous intracerebral haemorrhage. In this retrospective study, 140 consecutive patients were referred for CT assessment of sICH from January 2014 to April 2019. The level of consciousness of patients was evaluated using the Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) score, and the Glasgow Outcome Scale (GOS) score was calculated to classify the outcome. The distance of midline shift (MLS-D) and volume of midline shift (MLS-V) were automatically measured via DL methods. Patients were divided into three groups based on GCS scores: mild degree (GCS score: 13-15), moderate degree (GCS score: 9-12), and severe degree (GCS score: 3-8). Spearman's correlation analysis revealed statistically significant (P<0.01) positive correlation between GCS and MLS-D (r=0.709) and MLS-V (r=0.754). The AUC of MLS-V was slightly larger than that of MLS-D (0.831 vs 0.799, P=0.318) in the midline shifting group. The AUC of MLS-V was significantly larger than that of MLS-D (0.854 vs 0.736, P=0.03) in patients with severe degree GCS scores. The DL-based measurements of both MLS-D and MLS-V enable the assessment of consciousness and the prediction of the outcome of sICH. Compared to MLS-D, MLS-V measurement can better indicate mass effect and predict outcomes, particularly in severe cases.

Abstract
Neuroimaging studies of hippocampal volumes in patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) have reported inconsistent results. Our aims were to demonstrate that such discrepancies are largely due to atrophy of different regions of the hippocampus that emerge in different disease stages of ALS and to explore the existence of co-pathology in ALS patients. We used the well-validated King’s clinical staging system for ALS to classify patients into different disease stages. We investigated in vivo hippocampal atrophy patterns across subfields and anterior-posterior segments in different King’s stages using structural MRI in 76 ALS patients and 94 health controls (HCs). The thalamus, corticostriatal tract and perforant path were used as structural controls to compare the sequence of alterations between these structures and the hippocampal subfields. Compared with HCs, ALS patients at King’s stage 1 had lower volumes in the bilateral posterior subiculum and presubiculum; ALS patients at King’s stage 2 exhibited lower volumes in the bilateral posterior subiculum, left anterior presubiculum and left global hippocampus; ALS patients at King’s stage 3 showed significantly lower volumes in the bilateral posterior subiculum, dentate gyrus and global hippocampus. Thalamic atrophy emerged at King’s stage 3. White matter tracts remained normal in a subset of ALS patients. Our study demonstrated that the pattern of hippocampal atrophy in ALS patients varies greatly across King’s stages. Future studies in ALS patients that focus on the hippocampus may help to further clarify possible co-pathologies in ALS.

Abstract
White matter hyperintensity (WMH) is common in healthy adults in their 60s and can be seen as early as in their 30s and 40s. Alterations in the brain structural and functional profiles in adults with WMH have been repeatedly studied but with a focus on late-stage WMH. To date, structural and functional MRI profiles during the very early stage of WMH remain largely unexplored. To address this, we investigated multimodal MRI (structural, diffusion, and resting-state functional MRI) profiles of community-dwelling asymptomatic adults with very early-stage WMH relative to age-, sex-, and education-matched non-WMH controls. The comparative results showed significant age-related and age-independent changes in structural MRI-based morphometric measures and resting-state fMRI-based measures in a set of specific gray matter (GM) regions but no global white matter changes. The observed structural and functional anomalies in specific GM regions in community-dwelling asymptomatic adults with very early-stage WMH provide novel data regarding very early-stage WMH and enhance understanding of the pathogenesis of WMH.

Abstract
Background It is reported that radiomic features extracted from quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM) had promising clinical value for the diagnosis of Parkinson's disease (PD). We aimed to explore the usefulness of radiomics features based on magnitude images to distinguish PD from non-PD controls. Methods We retrospectively recruited PD patients and controls who underwent brain 3.0T MR including susceptibility-weighted imaging (SWI). A total of 396 radiomics features were extracted from the SN of 95 PD patients and 95 non-PD controls based on SWI. Intra-/inter-observer correlation coefficients (ICCs) were applied to measure the observer agreement for the radiomic feature extraction. Then the patients were randomly grouped into training and validation sets in a ratio of 7:3. In the training set, the maximum correlation minimum redundancy algorithm (mRMR) and the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) were conducted to filter and choose the optimized subset of features, and a radiomics signature was constructed. Moreover, radiomics signatures were constructed by different machine learning models. Area under the ROC curves (AUCs) were applied to evaluate the predictive performance of the models. Then correlation analysis was performed to evaluate the correlation between the optimized features and clinical factors. Results The intro-observer CC ranged from 0.82 to 1.0, and the inter-observer CC ranged from 0.77 to 0.99. The LASSO logistic regression model showed good prediction efficacy in the training set [AUC = 0.82, 95% confidence interval (CI, 0.74-0.88)] and the validation set [AUC = 0.81, 95% CI (0.68-0.91)]. One radiomic feature showed a moderate negative correlation with Hoehn-Yahr stage (r = -0.49, P = 0.012). Conclusion Radiomic predictive features based on SWI magnitude images could reflect the Hoehn-Yahr stage of PD to some extent.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore whether the whole brain resting-state functional connectivity (rs-FC) could predict episodic memory performance in individuals with subjective cognitive decline and amnestic mild cognitive impairment. METHOD This study included 33 cognitive normal (CN), 26 subjective cognitive decline (SCD) and 27 amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI) patients, and all the participants completed resting-state fMRI (rs-fMRI) scan and neuropsychological scale test data. Connectome-based predictive modeling (CPM) based on the rs-FC data was used to predict the auditory verbal learning test-delayed recall (AVLT-DR) scores, which measured episodic memory in individuals. Pearson correlation between each brain connection in the connectivity matrices and AVLT-DR scores was computed across the patients in predementia stages of Alzheimer's disease (AD). The Pearson correlation coefficient values separated into a positive network and a negative network. Predictive networks were then defined and employed by calculating positive and negative network strengths. CPM with leave-one-out cross-validation (LOOCV) was conducted to train linear models to respectively relate positive and negative network strengths to AVLT-DR scores in the training set. During the testing procedure, each left-out testing subject's strengths of positive and negative network was normalized using the parameters acquired during training procedure, and then the trained models were used to predict the testing participant's AVLT-DR score. RESULTS The negative network predictive model tested LOOCV significantly predicted individual differences in episodic memory from rs-FC. Key nodes that brain regions contributed to the prediction model were mainly located in the prefrontal cortex, frontal cortex, parietal cortex and temporal lobe. CONCLUSION Our findings demonstrated that rs-FC among multiple neural systems could predict episodic memory at the individual level.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the associations of urinary retinol binding protein (RBP) and β2-microglobulin (β2-MG) with urinary albumin to creatinine ratio (UACR) and renal function in hospitalized patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Methods: A total of 1 030 Chinese patients with T2DM were included in this study. The subjects were divided into the UACR normal group (<30 mg/g), microalbuminuria group (30-300 mg/g) and macroalbuminuria group (>300 mg/g). Patients with normal UACR were further divided into two groups according to the estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR): the eGFR low group (<90 ml·min-1·1.73m-2) and the normal eGFR group (≥90 ml·min-1·1.73m-2). Urine RBP and β2-MG levels among the groups were compared. Multiple linear regression analyses were applied to evaluate risk factors of urine RBP and β2-MG. Results: In all patients (n=1 030), urine RBP and β2-MG increased gradually with the increase of UACR across the three groups, the proportions of abnormal urine RBP (>0.7 mg/L) and β2-MG (>370 μg/L) in these groups were 3.8%, 8.5%, 39.0% (P<0.001), and 12.9%, 26.7%, 46.8% (P<0.001), respectively. In the UACR normal group (n=788), 12.2% of the patients were with eGFR<90 ml·min-1·1.73m-2. The proportion of abnormal β2-MG (>370 μg/L) was higher in the eGFR low group than that in the eGFR normal group (29.2% vs. 10.7%, P<0.001). Multivariate linear stepwise regression analyses were performed using natural logarithm of urine RBP or β2-MG as dependent variable, and showed that urine RBP was independently associated with UACR (β=0.0005, P<0.001), serum creatinine (β=0.006, P<0.001) and glycosylated hemoglobin A1c (β=0.050, P=0.001), and β2-MG was independently correlated with UACR (β=0.000 4, P<0.001), serum creatinine (β=0.011, P<0.001), systolic blood pressure (β=0.005, P=0.031) and fasting blood-glucose (β=0.027, P=0.046). Conclusions: Urine RBP and β2-MG are positively associated with high UACR and impaired renal function in T2DM patients, and these changes could occur before UACR and eGFR turned out to be abnormal. It is recommended that urine RBP and β2-MG be detected as early as possible to identify diabetic kidney disease in patients with normal UACR and eGFR.

Abstract
Background We established and evaluated a radiomics nomogram based on multislice computed tomography (MSCT) arterial phase contrast-enhanced images to distinguish between Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC) objectively, quantitatively, and reproducibly. Methods MSCT arterial phase-enhancement images of 165 lesions (99 CD, 66 UC) in 87 patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) confirmed by endoscopy or surgical pathology were retrospectively analyzed. A total of 132 lesions (80%) were selected as the training cohort and 33 lesions (20%) as the test cohort. A total of 1648 radiomic features were extracted from each region of interest (ROI), and the Pearson correlation coefficient and tree-based method were used for feature selection. Five machine learning classifiers, including logistic regression (LR), support vector machine (SVM), random forest (RF), stochastic gradient descent (SGD), and linear discriminative analysis (LDA), were trained. The best classifier was evaluated and obtained, and the results were transformed into the Rscore. Three clinical factors were screened out from 8 factors by univariate analysis. The logistic regression method was used to synthesize the significant clinical factors and the Rscore to generate the nomogram, which was compared with the clinical model and LR model. Results Among all machine learning classifiers, LR performed the best (AUC =0.8077, accuracy =0.697, sensitivity =0.8, specificity =0.5385), SGD model had the second best performance (AUC =0.8, accuracy =0.6667, sensitivity =0.75, specificity =0.5385), and the DeLong test results showed that there was no significant difference between LR and SGD (P=0.465>0.05), while the other models performed poorly. Texture features had the greatest impact on classification results among all imaging features. The significant features of the LR model were used to calculate the Rscore. The 3 significant clinical factors were perienteric edema or inflammation, CT value of arterial phase-enhancement (AP-CT value), and lesion location. Finally, a nomogram was constructed based on the 3 significant clinical factors and the Rscore, whose AUC (0.8846) was much higher than that of the clinical model (0.6154) and the LR model (0.8077). Conclusions The nomogram is expected to provide a new auxiliary tool for radiologists to quickly identify CD and UC.

Abstract
Shape memory polymers (SMPs) are developed by blending and cross-linking polymers which include crystalline domains and cross-linked networks. In this paper, we describe the morphology, thermal and shape memory behavior of methyl vinyl silicone rubber (MVMQ)/olefin block copolymer (OBC) blends prepared by a melt-blending and chemical cross-linking method. MVMQ without crystalline domains could not hold its temporary shape. After introducing the OBC, the obtained blends exhibited excellent dual shape memory properties. The cross-linking networks of MVMQ acted as reversible domains, while crystalline regions of OBC worked as fixed domains. When the blending ratio of MVMQ/OBC was 50/ 50, the blend had both a high shape fixity ratio and shape recovery ratio.

Abstract
The structural and magnetic properties of Mn1+x V2-x O4 (0 < x ⩽ 1) have been investigated by the heat capacity, magnetization, x-ray diffraction and neutron diffraction measurements, and a phase diagram of temperature versus composition was built up. For x ⩽ 0.3, a cubic-to-tetragonal (c > a) phase transition was observed. For x > 0.3, the system maintained the tetragonal lattice. Although the collinear and noncollinear magnetic transitions of V3+ ions were obtained in all compositions, the canting angles between the V3+ ions decreased with Mn3+-doping, and the ordering of the Mn3+ ions was only observed as x > 0.4. In order to study the dynamics of the ground state, the first principles simulation was applied to analyze not only the orbital effects of Mn2+, Mn3+, and V3+ ions, but also the related exchange energies.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Selective serotonin reuptaker inhibitors, including fluoxetine, are widely studied and prescribed antidepressants, while their exact molecular and cellular mechanism are yet to be defined. We investigated the involvement of HDAC1 and eEF2 in the antidepressant mechanisms of fluoxetine using a lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced depression-like behavior model. METHODS For in vivo analysis, mice were treated with LPS (2 mg/kg BW), fluoxetine (20 mg/kg BW), HDAC1 activator (Exifone: 54 mg/kg BW) and NH125 (1 mg/kg BW). Depressive-like behaviors were confirmed via behavior tests including OFT, FST, SPT, and TST. Cytokines were measured by ELISA while Iba-1 and GFAP expression were determined by immunofluorescence. Further, the desired gene expression was measured by immunoblotting. For in vitro analysis, BV2 cell lines were cultured; treated with LPS, exifone, and fluoxetine; collected; and analyzed. RESULTS Mice treated with LPS displayed depression-like behaviors, pronounced neuroinflammation, increased HDAC1 expression, and reduced eEF2 activity, as accompanied by altered synaptogenic factors including BDNF, SNAP25, and PSD95. Fluoxetine treatment exhibited antidepressant effects and ameliorated the molecular changes induced by LPS. Exifone, a selective HDAC1 activator, reversed the antidepressant and anti-inflammatory effects of fluoxetine both in vivo and in vitro, supporting a causing role of HDAC1 in neuroinflammation allied depression. Further molecular mechanisms underlying HDAC1 were explored with NH125, an eEF2K inhibitor, whose treatment reduced immobility time, altered pro-inflammatory cytokines, and NLRP3 expression. Moreover, NH125 treatment enhanced eEF2 and GSK3β activities, BDNF, SNAP25, and PSD95 expression, but had no effects on HDAC1. CONCLUSIONS Our results showed that the antidepressant effects of fluoxetine may involve HDAC1-eEF2 related neuroinflammation and synaptogenesis.

Abstract
Previous studies have demonstrated a close association between an altered immune system and major depressive disorders, and inhibition of neuroinflammation may represent an alternative mechanism to treat depression. Recently, the anti-inflammatory activity of ibrutinib has been reported. However, the effect of ibrutinib on neuroinflammation-induced depression and its underlying mechanism has not been comprehensively studied. Therefore, we aimed to elucidate the potential anti-depressive role and mechanism of ibrutinib against neuroinflammation-induced depression and synaptic defects. Our results showed that ibrutinib treatment significantly reduced lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced depressive-like behaviors and neuroinflammation via inhibiting NF-kB activation, decreasing proinflammatory cytokine levels, and normalizing redox signaling and its downstream components, including Nrf2, HO-1, and SOD2, as well as glial cell activation markers, such as Iba-1 and GFAP. Further, ibrutinib treatment inhibited LPS-activated inflammasome activation by targeting NLRP3/P38/Caspase-1 signaling. Interestingly, LPS reduced the number of dendritic spines and expression of BDNF, and synaptic-related markers, including PSD95, snap25, and synaptophysin, were improved by ibrutinib treatment in the hippocampal area of the mouse brain. In conclusion, our findings suggest that ibrutinib can alleviate neuroinflammation and synaptic defects, suggesting it has antidepressant potential against LPS-induced neuroinflammation and depression.

Abstract
Although previous studies have investigated the effects of the apolipoprotein E (APOE) ɛ4 genotype on the default mode network (DMN) in the Alzheimer's disease (AD) spectrum, it is still unclear how the APOE genotype regulates the DMN and subsequently affects cognitive decline in the AD spectrum. One hundred sixty-nine subjects with resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging data and neuropsychological test scores were selected from the Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative. The main effects and interaction of the APOE genotype and disease status on the DMN were explored. A moderation analysis was performed to investigate the relationship among the APOE genotype, DMN connectivity, and cognition. Additionally, the pair-wised DMN connectivity was used to classify AD spectrum, and the classification accuracy was validated. Compared to APOEɛ4 non-carriers, APOEɛ4 carriers showed the opposite trajectory of DMN connectivity across the AD spectrum. Specifically, the strengths in the posterior cingulate cortex (PCC) connecting with the right precuneus, insular, and fusiform area (FFA) were positively correlated with Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) scores in APOEɛ4 non-carriers but not in APOEɛ4 carriers. Furthermore, PCC-right FFA connectivity could moderate the effects of the APOE genotype on MMSE scores across the disease groups. More importantly, using a receiver operating characteristic analysis, these altered connectivities yielded strong classification powers in a pathological stage-dependent manner in the AD spectrum. These findings first identified the intrinsic DMN connectivity moderating the effect of the APOE genotype on cognition and provided a pathological stage-dependent neuroimaging biomarker for early differentiation of the AD spectrum.

Abstract
Clonostachys rosea is a promising saprophytic filamentous fungus that belongs to phylum Ascomycota. Clonostachys rosea is widespread around the world and exists in many kinds of habitats, with the highest frequency in soil. As an excellent mycoparasite, C. rosea exhibits strong biological control ability against numerous fungal plant pathogens, nematodes and insects. These behaviours are based on the activation of multiple mechanisms such as secreted cell-wall-degrading enzymes, production of antifungal secondary metabolites and induction of plant defence systems. Besides having significant biocontrol activity, C. rosea also functions in the biodegradation of plastic waste, biotransformation of bioactive compounds, as a bioenergy sources and in fermentation. This mini review summarizes information about the biology and various applications of C. rosea and expands on its possible uses.

Abstract
Objective:To explore the new mechanism of spectomycin B1 in inhibiting angiogenesis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma and to provide a theoretical basis for targeted gene therapy of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Method:Human nasopharyngeal carcinoma CNE1 cells were divided into two groups, the control group and spectomycin B1 group. Western blot was used to detect the expression levels of small ubiquitin-related modified protein(SUMO) 1 and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2(VEGFR2). The angiogenesis assay was used to detect the angiogenic ability of CNE1 cells, and the apoptosis was detected by flow cytometry. The model of nasopharyngeal carcinoma-bearing mice was established, spectomycin B1 was administered, tumor volume and weight were measured, and protein expression of CD31 was detected by immunohistochemistry and microvessel density was compared. Result:Spectomycin B1 could reduce deSUMOylation of VEGFR2 protein by 4.05 times, significantly reduce the angiogenic ability of CNE1 cells, and increase the apoptosis rate by 20.68%. In the tumor-bearing mouse model, spectomycin B1 treatment could inhibit subcutaneous tumor growth rate and weight, and the blood vessel density decreased by 40.04%. Conclusion:Spectomycin B1 can inhibit neovascularization of nasopharyngeal carcinoma by inducing deSUMOylation of VEGFR2 protein.

Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the anti-fibrotic effects of ghrelin in isoproterenol (ISO)-induced myocardial fibrosis and the underlying mechanism. Sprague-Dawley rats were randomized to control, ISO, and ISO + ghrelin groups. ISO (2 mg/kg per day, subcutaneous) or vehicle was administered once daily for 7 days, then ghrelin (100 microg/kg per day, subcutaneous) was administered once daily for the next 3 weeks. Ghrelin treatment greatly improved the cardiac function of ISO-treated rats. Ghrelin also decreased plasma brain natriuretic peptide level and ratios of heart weight to body weight and left ventricular weight to body weight. Ghrelin significantly reduced myocardial collagen area and hydroxyproline content, accompanied by decreased mRNA levels of collagen type I and III. Furthermore, ghrelin increased plasma level of growth differentiation factor 15 (GDF15) and GDF15 mRNA and protein levels in heart tissues, which were significantly decreased with ISO alone. The phosphorylation of Akt at Ser473 and GSK-3beta at Ser9 was decreased with ISO, and ghrelin significantly reversed the downregulation of p-Akt and p-GSK-3beta. Mediated by GDF15, ghrelin could attenuate ISO-induced myocardial fibrosis via Akt-GSK-3beta signaling.

Abstract
AIMS To investigate the genetic determinates for conjugated linolenic acid (CLNA) production in Lactobacillus plantarum ZS2058, a high CLNA producer. METHODS AND RESULTS After culturing with α-linolenic acid (ALA) in the medium, the fatty acid compositions of supernatant fluid and cell pellets were analysed via GC-MS. cis9,trans11,cis15-CLNA was identified to be the predominant isomer. And during CLNA production, 10-hydroxy-cis12-cis15-octadecenoic acid (10-HOEA) and 10-oxo-cis12-cis15-octadecenoic acid (10-OXOA) were accumulated. The E. coli recombinants harbouring genes encoding myosin-cross-reactive antigen (MCRA), short-chain dehydrogenase/oxidoreductase (DH) and acetoacetate decarboxylase (DC), respectively, were analysed for their roles in CLNA production. The results indicated that MCRA converted ALA to 10-HOEA, following converted to 10-OXOA by DH. While with the combination of three recombinants, ALA could be transformed into CLNA plus 10-HOEA and 10-OXOA. When the three genes were deleted, none of the L. plantarum ZS2058 knockout mutants could produce any CLNA, after complementation, and all the complementary mutants recovered the CLNA-production ability at similar levels as the wild strain. CONCLUSIONS Lactobacillus plantarum ZS2058 produced CLNA from ALA with 10-HOEA and 10-OXOA as intermediates. The triple-component isomerase of MCRA, DH and DC was the unique genetic determinant for CLNA generation. SIGNIFICANCE AND IMPACT OF THE STUDY The current results firstly provided conclusive evidence that the triple-component isomerase complex was shared by both CLA and CLNA production in lactobacilli.

Abstract
1. MicroRNAs are small noncoding RNA molecules that play crucial roles in gene expression. However, the comparative profiling of testicular and ovarian microRNAs in birds are rarely reported, particularly in pigeon.2. In this study, Illumina next-generation sequencing technology was used to sequence miRNA libraries of the gonads from six healthy adult utility pigeons. A total of 344 conserved known miRNAs and 32 novel putative miRNAs candidates were detected. Compared with those of ovaries, 130 differentially expressed (DE) miRNAs were identified in the testes. Among them, 70 miRNAs showed down-regulation in the ovaries, while another 60 miRNAs were up-regulated.3. Combining the results of the expression of target gene measurements and pathway enrichment analyses, it was revealed that some DEmiRNAs from the gonad samples involved in sexual differentiation and development (such as cli-miR-210-3p and cli-miR-214-3p) could down-regulate AR (androgen receptor). Cli-miR-181b-5p, cli-miR-9622-3p and cli-miR-145-5p were highly expressed in both the ovaries and testes, which could co-target HOXC9, and were related to regulation of primary metabolic processes. KEGG enrichment analysis showed that DEmiRNAs may play biological and sex-related roles in pigeon gonads.4. The expression profiles of testicular and ovarian miRNA in adult pigeon gonads are presented for the first time, and the findings may contribute to a better understanding of gonadal expression in poultry.

Abstract
Objective: To understand the mechanism of chemotherapy resistance in nasopharyngeal carcinoma under hypoxic conditions through the perspective of protein SUMOylation modification. Methods: Cobalt chloride (CoCl(2)) was used to establish the hypoxic model of human nasopharyngeal carcinoma CNE1 cells. Then, the cell cycle was detected by flow cytometry, and the expression level of small ubiquitin-related modifier(SUMO) and cyclin-dependent kinase 6 (CDK6) proteins were detected by western blotting. MTT assay was used to determine the median lethal dose (IC(50)) of cancer cells against cisplatin, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to determine lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) level. Results: The cell cycle of CNE1 induced by hypoxia was arrested in G0/G1 phase.The results of Western blot showed that the protein expression level of CDK6 in CNE1 cells was lower than that in the control group (0.83±0.25 vs. 0.43±0.21, t=14.67, P=0.003). The protein level of conjugated SUMO1 was significantly lower than that in the control group (2.69±0.48 vs. 1.38±0.31, t=17.22, P=0.001), while the level of free SUMO1 protein was significantly higher than that in the control group (2.01±0.43 vs. 2.60±0.59, t=15.45, P=0.002).The LC50 of CNE1 cells in the control group was significantly lower than that in the hypoxic group (29.44 μg/ml vs. 97.72 μg/ml, t=12.79, P=0.001). After CNE1 cells received 50 μg/ml cisplatin for 48 h, the LDH content in the supernatant of the control group was significantly higher than that in the hypoxic group ((541.49±64.59) ng/ml vs. (234.67±41.03) ng/ml, t=11.94, P=0.007)). The apoptosis rate of CNE1 cells in the control group was significantly higher than that in the hypoxic group ((76.64±5.37)% vs. (32.84±4.77) ng/ml, t=8.49, P=0.003)). Conclusion: Hypoxia can dissociate the covalent modification of CDK6 and SUMO1, inhibit cell cycle and increase the chemotherapy resistance of nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

Abstract
Monoclinic gallium oxide thin films were deposited on c-plane sapphire substrates at various substrate temperatures ranging from 450 °C to 700 °C by radio frequency magnetron sputtering technology. X-ray diffraction results showed that the deposited β-Ga2O3 films were oriented at ( 2 ¯ 01) direction. As the substrate temperature increased, the intensity of β-Ga2O3 peaks increased and bandgap decreased accordingly. Metal/semiconductor/metal structured solar-blind photodetectors based on β-Ga2O3 thin films growing at various substrate temperatures had been fabricated. The growth temperatures of thin films had no obvious influence on dark current and response to 365 nm light illuminations. The photoelectric properties such as responsivity and response speed of the thin films to 254 nm light illuminations were growth temperature dependent. At an applied bias of 50 V, the photodetectors prepared with 450 °C grown film had the highest responsivity of 2.18 A/W, and the photodetectors prepared with 700 °C grown film had the shortest rising time of 0.95 s under 254 nm light illuminations.

Abstract
Myelin is a lipid-rich multilamellar membrane that wraps around long segments of neuronal axons and it increases the conduction of action potentials, transports the necessary trophic support to the neuronal axons, and reduces the energy consumed by the neuronal axons. Together with axons, myelin is a prerequisite for the higher functions of the central nervous system and complex forms of network integration. Myelin impairments have been suggested to lead to neuronal dysfunction and cognitive decline. Accumulating evidence, including brain imaging and postmortem and genetic association studies, has implicated myelin impairments in Alzheimer's disease (AD). Increasing data link myelin impairments with amyloid-β (Aβ) plaques and tau hyperphosphorylation, which are both present in patients with AD. Moreover, aging and apolipoprotein E (ApoE) may be involved in the myelin impairments observed in patients with AD. Decreased neuronal activity, increased Aβ levels, and inflammation further damage myelin in patients with AD. Furthermore, treatments that promote myelination contribute to the recovery of neuronal function and improve cognition. Therefore, strategies targeting myelin impairment may provide therapeutic opportunities for patients with AD.
