Abstract
An attempt to evaluate aluminum toxicity to living organisms was undertaken in the study. A laboratory experiment was conducted to determine aluminum bioaccumulation and toxicity in Chironomus and Chaoborus larvae and in Cyprinus carpio L. roe depending on aluminum concentration in water reflecting natural chemical composition. Water was examined for temperature, pH, electrical conductivity, dissolved oxygen, color, nitrate nitrogen, nitrite nitrogen, sulfates by spectrophotometric method; total hardness and chlorides by titration method; and calcium, magnesium, sodium by flame atomic absorption spectrometry, total aluminum by electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry. Determination of aluminum levels in water, roe, and zooplankton was carried out after mineralization using electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry. Aluminum bioaccumulation factor in roe was determined with respect to concentration in water. Moreover, acute toxicity (LC50) was calculated. In the roe experiment, aluminum concentration in water at the end of the experiment was 0.0635-0.1283 mgAl∙dm-3. The lowest values were noted for the control sample and the highest for water with 0.03 mgAl∙dm-3 aluminum content. The final aluminum level in roe was, like in water, the highest in roe treated with 0.03 mgAl∙dm-3 (18.95 mgAl∙kg-1), and the lowest in roe treated with 3.00 mgAl∙dm-3 (6.96 mgAl∙kg-1). Aluminum bioaccumulation in roe was the strongest in the control. Survival rate ranged from 2.00 to 97.00%, which shows higher sensitivity of roe to aluminum concentration. LC50 value for Chaoborus was 0.6464 mgAl⋅dm-3, and for Chironomus 0.2076 mgAl⋅dm-3 indicating that Chironomus is more sensitive to aluminum toxic effects. Concentration of 3.0 mgAl∙dm-3 caused the highest mortality. Aluminum in both species at each concentration reached the highest levels after one day (24 h), 254.58 mg⋅kg-1 for Chaoborus and 3107 mg⋅kg-1 for Chironomus. After another day, aluminum levels decreased. This demonstrated the differential accumulation of aluminum depending on the species, which predisposes Chironomus as a better indicator organism. This type of research is important from the point of view of aquaculture, which is a targeted activity with a high degree of economic importance, but is also important for aquatic organisms living in natural conditions. Fish reproduction takes place in both types of waters, so all these reservoirs regardless of their source of destination should be inspected.

Abstract
In anticipation of extraterritorial application of antiabortion laws, many states have enacted laws that attempt to shield abortion providers, helpers, and patients from civil, professional, or criminal liability associated with legal abortion care. This essay analyzes and compares the statutory schemes of the seven early adopting shield states: California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and New York. After describing what the laws do and how they operate, we offer reflections on coming disputes, areas of legal uncertainty, and ways to improve future shield laws.

Abstract
When we conceptualized this symposium, Roe v. Wade1 was still the law of the land, albeit precariously. We aimed to commemorate its fiftieth anniversary by exploring historical, legal, medical, and related dimensions of access to abortion as well as the challenges ahead to secure reproductive justice. With the leak of the U.S. Supreme Court's decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization on May 2, 2022, we shifted to mark the dawn of a new era. In the nearly identical official opinion announced on June 24, 2022,2 Justice Samuel Alito, writing for the majority (6-3), overturned Roe and Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pennsylvania v. Casey.3.

Abstract
Dobbs appears more extreme when juxtaposed against Roe's hidden history. Justice Blackmun was the author of Roe, but the opinion was the product of a remarkable collaboration that incorporated the suggestions of many Justices. Thus, Roe's medical framing embodied the vision of the Court as a whole, not one individual.

Abstract
The U.S. Supreme Court's Dobbs ruling triggered a global debate about access to abortion and the legislative models governing it. In the United States, there was a sudden reversal of federal guidance about pregnancy termination that is unprecedented in Western and high-income countries. The strong polarization on the issue of abortion and the difficulty of finding a point of compromise lead one to consider the experiences of countries that have had different paths. Italy stands as a candidate for being a partially alternative model because it allows abortion up to 12 weeks, but without considering it a subjective right. The legislation in place since 1978 aims to balance the interests of the fetus and those of the woman. An issue often raised concerning Italian law is that of conscientious objection granted to doctors. Many gynecologists declare themselves objectors, and this makes access to abortion more difficult in some regions of Italy. After discussing this issue and envisaging different ways to deal with it, the article concludes by highlighting new dilemmas about a possible divorce between the law and medical ethics in different directions and offers some avenues to begin setting up a response.

Abstract
The demise of Roe v. Wade has prompted some state lawmakers to try to redefine legal personhood to begin before birth and even before pregnancy. The sweeping abortion bans passed and pending in the wake of Dobbs pose a threat to reproductive rights that extends beyond abortion. That threat spills over into in vitro fertilization (IVF) and other assisted reproductive technologies (ART). If legislatures designate embryos as legal persons, fertility clinics will be forced to change how they manage embryos, including current standard practices such as pre-implantation genetic testing, storage of unused embryos, and the disposal of those unlikely to have reproductive potential. This essay examines the many ways in which conferring the status of persons under private and public law is likely to impact patients pursuing IVF and clinics practicing ART.

Abstract
In Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, the Supreme Court eliminated the long-standing federal constitutional right to abortion. Discussions of Dobbs tend to emphasize the loss of protection for reproductive choice. But Dobbs also eroded protection for a related yet distinctly important interest that served under Roe v. Wade as a check on government regulation of reproduction: the preservation of health. This erasure has opened the door to increasingly restrictive and punitive abortion bans, which are causing providers to deny or delay care that is necessary to prevent harm to both pregnant and nonpregnant patients. Federal regulatory attempts to prevent these harms will have limited impact, partially due to Congress's own history of exceptionalizing abortion in ways that devalue health. Only federal legislation can ensure adequate and enduring protection for the health of women, trans men, and other patients targeted for reproductive control because of their capacity for pregnancy.

Abstract
The upcoming U.S. Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization has the potential to eliminate or severely restrict access to legal abortion care in the United States. We address the impact that the decision could have on abortion access and its consequences beyond abortion care. We posit that an abortion ban would, in effect, mean that anyone who becomes pregnant, including those who continue a pregnancy and give birth to healthy newborns and those with pregnancy complications or adverse pregnancy outcomes will become newly vulnerable to legal surveillance, civil detentions, forced interventions, and criminal prosecution. The harms imposed by banning or severely restricting abortion access will disproportionately affect persons of color and perpetuate structural racism. We caution that focusing on Roe as a decision that only protects ending a pregnancy ignores the protection that the decision also affords people who want to continue their pregnancies. It overlooks the ways in which overturning Roe will curtail fundamental rights for all those who become pregnant and will undermine their status as full persons meriting Constitutional protections. Such a singular focus inevitably obscures the common ground that people across the ideological spectrum might inhabit to ensure the safety, health, humanity, and rights of all people who experience pregnancy.

Abstract
The present study investigated phospholipid content, fatty acid composition and the positional distribution (sn-1,3 and sn-2) of n-3 fatty acids in four blue mackerel processing by-products (head, skin, roe, and male gonad). Total lipid was extracted using hexane/ethanol (1:2) and the analyses were carried out using NMR and GC-FID techniques. On the basis of g wet tissue, blue mackerel roe was a better source of phospholipids (38.6 µmol), compared to head (9.89 µmol), skin (13.5 µmol), and male gonad (10.0 µmol). Total lipid extracted from roe was found to have a higher proportion of n-3 fatty acids (44.4%) including EPA (11.3%) and DHA (27.5%), compared to head (total n-3 = 36.6%; EPA, 9.08%: DHA, 21.9%), skin (total n-3 = 34.8%; EPA, 9.63%; DHA, 19.5%) and male gonad (total n-3 = 42.5%; EPA, 12.1%; DHA, 24.7%). The proportion of EPA in the sn-2 position was substantially higher in fish roe (12.6%) compared to the other by-products (head, 1.91%; skin, 2.22%; male gonad, 2.02%). However, the DPA and DHA content in the sn-2 position did not vary significantly among the various parts (p > 0.05). Phospholipid esterified n-3 fatty acids were higher in roe (55.5%) compared to head (40.9%), skin (21.8%) and male gonad (32%). The present study suggests that blue mackerel roe is the best source of marine n-3 phospholipids among the blue mackerel commercially produced by-products.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Due to excellent nutritional properties of fish and fish products, dietitians recommend their larger share in the diet, for both the prevention and treatment of diet-related diseases. In this context particular attention should be given to fish eggs (roe). The aim of the study was to compare the content of selected minerals and trace elements in the roe and muscle tissue of aquaculture-reared rainbow trout. Moreover, the extent to which an edible portion of 100 g of fish product (roe or fillet) satisfies the requirements for these elements in adult consumers (women and men) and children was determined. METHODS The research material was represented by 20 farmed rainbow trout females (Oncorhynchus mykiss). In muscle tissue and roe the proximate composition, energy value, and nutritional quality index were examined. Concentrations of K, Na, Ca, Mg, Zn, Fe, Mn and Cu were determined by flame atomic absorption spectrometry analysis. The levels of minerals and trace elements in fish products were used to calculate the percentages of the recommended dietary reference values for adults and children in portion of 100 g. RESULTS The roe had higher content of 7 elements including, Zn (29.40 ± 1.38, 27.74-30.91 mg/kg), Mn (1.66 ± 0.08, 1.55-1.73 mg/kg), Fe (11.17 ± 0.35, 10.75-11.60 mg/kg), Cu (1.24 ± 0.04, 1.21-1.30 mg/kg), Ca (546.90 ± 23.68, 522.02-578.96 mg/kg), Mg (546.97 ± 23.68, 522.02-578.96 mg/kg), Na (403.61 ± 5.53, 397.29-407.57 mg/kg) compared to muscle tissue, respectively, Zn (2.73 ± 0.97, 0.94-3.77 mg/kg, Mn (0.22 ± 0.10, 0.14-0.46 mg/kg), Fe (2.19 ± 1.44, 1.02-5.50 mg/kg), Cu (0.24 ± 0.06, 0.17-0.36 mg/kg), Ca (164.07 ± 71.72, 93.24-306.32 mg/kg), Mg (240.00 ± 73.37, 127.92-316.41 mg/kg), Na (273.37 ± 99.65, 183.93-524.41 mg/kg). In turn, the muscle tissue contained 3 times as much K (5159.87 ± 974.70, 4004.63-6343.91 mg/kg) as the roe (1713.65 ± 58.68, 1643.97-1764.14 mg/kg). The roe covered the recommended nutrition standards (population reference intake, PRI and adequate intake, AI) to a greater extent than the fillet for all analysed trace elements and minerals except K. For children, the contribution of roe to the reference intake of such elements as Mg, Zn, Fe, Mn and Cu was particularly high. Therefore the roe should be considered as a source of Mg for all consumer groups, and as high in Zn for women and children. The suggested portion of fillet and roe provided only 2-3 % of the daily requirement for Na. CONCLUSIONS Despite the differences found, both roe and fillet from rainbow trout are a good source of analysed elements. The results indicate the need to continue research in order to determine the influence of other factors on the content of minerals and trace elements in roe and the possibility of using gonads to enrich other food products with elements.

Abstract
The aim of our study was to improve the texture quality of salted Alaska pollock (Theragra chalcogramma) roe product using microbial transglutaminase (MTGase). Thus, the effect of 0-1.0% MTGase on the physical properties of the salted roe was assessed. Endogenous TGase activity in the roe, which contributes to improving its texture, decreased at -20 °C during frozen storage. Mechanical properties of the salted roe, such as roe firmness and egg breaking strength, were improved using MTGase, the optimum concentration of which was 0.5%. Protein polymerizations using SDS-PAGE and decreasing of protein solubilities in SDS-urea solution were observed in the salted roe with MTGase. Therefore, the texture of salted Alaska pollock roe can be significantly enhanced by adding 0.5% MTGase because of catalyzing protein crosslinking. Additionally, this study most likely indicates that MTGase can be used to improve the texture of aquatic processed foods at low temperatures, especially 5 °C.

Abstract
One of the first surgical procedures described in the history of medicine is reconstructive surgery of the nose. Over the centuries, surgeons have developed techniques aimed at reconstructing noses amputated or traumatized by disease. The concept of aesthetic rhinoplasty was only introduced at the end of the 19th century. Since then, techniques have evolved toward constant ameliorations. Nowadays, this surgery is one of the most performed aesthetic procedures. Current technical sophistication is the result of over a century of history marked by many surgeons. All of these techniques derive from a detailed understanding of the anatomical nose from the surgical and artistic point of view.
