Abstract
The syntheses and crystal structures of two bimetallic mol-ecular compounds, namely, bis[bis-(6,6'-dimethyl-2,2'-bi-pyridine)-copper(I)] hexa-fluorido-zir-con-ate(IV) 1.134-hydrate, [Cu(dmbpy)2]2[ZrF6]·1.134H2O (dmbpy = 6,6'-di-methyl-2,2'-bipyri-dyl, C12H12N2), (I), and bis[bis-(6,6'-dimethyl-2,2'-bi-pyr-idine)-copper(I)] hexa-fluorido-hafnate(IV) 0.671-hydrate, [Cu(dmbpy)2]2[HfF6]·0.671H2O, (II), are reported. Apart from a slight site occupany difference for the water mol-ecule of crystallization, compounds (I) and (II) are isostructural, featuring isolated tetra-hedral cations of copper(I) ions coordinated by two dmbpy ligands and centrosymmetric, octa-hedral anions of fluorinated early transition metals. The tetra-hedral environments of the copper complexes are distorted owing to the steric effects of the dmbpy ligands. The extended structures are built up through Coulombic inter-actions between cations and anions and π-π stacking inter-actions between heterochiral Δ- and Λ-[Cu(dmbpy)2]+ complexes. A comparison between the title compounds and other [Cu(dmbpy)2]+ compounds with monovalent and bivalent anions reveals a significant influence of the cation-to-anion ratio on the resulting crystal packing architectures, providing insights for future crystal design of distorted tetra-hedral copper compounds.

Abstract
The crystal structures of three bridged bimetallic mol-ecular compounds, namely, tri-aqua-2κ3 O-μ-fluorido-penta-fluorido-1κ5 F-(1,10-phenanthroline-2κ2 N,N')copper(II)titanium(IV) monohydrate, [Cu(TiF6)(phen)(H2O)3]·H2O (phen is 1,10-phenanthroline, C12H8N2), (I), tri-aqua-2κ3 O-μ-fluorido-penta-fluorido-1κ5 F-(1,10-phenanthroline-2κ2 N,N')copper(II)zirconium(IV) monohydrate, [Cu(ZrF6)(phen)(H2O)3]·H2O, (II), and tri-aqua-2κ3 O-μ-fluorido-penta-fluorido-1κ5 F-(1,10-phenanthroline-2κ2 N,N')copper(II)hafnium(IV) monohydrate, [Cu(HfF6)(phen)(H2O)3]·H2O, (III), and one mol-ecular salt, bis-[diaqua-fluorido-(1,10-phenanthroline-κ2 N,N')copper(II)] hexa-fluorido-hafnate(IV) dihydrate, [CuF(phen)(H2O)2]2[HfF6]·2H2O, (IV), are reported. The bridged bimetallic compounds adopt Λ-shaped configurations, with the octa-hedrally coordinated copper(II) center linked to the fluorinated early transition metal via a fluoride linkage. The extended structures of these Λ-shaped compounds are organized through both intra- and inter-molecular hydrogen bonds and inter-molecular π-π stacking. The salt compound [Cu(phen)(H2O)2F]2[HfF6]·H2O displays an isolated square-pyramidal Cu(phen)(H2O)2F+ complex linked to other cationic complexes and isolated HfF6 2- anions through inter-molecular hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Abstract
In the title polymer, the eightfold-coordinated SrII atoms are linked by bridging (H2BTEC)2– anions to generate a two-dimensional network Thermal analysis (TG–SDTA–MS) has been undertaken. A coordination polymer formulated as [Sr(H2BTEC)(H2O)]n (H4BTEC = benzene-1,2,4,5-tetracarboxylic acid, C10H6O8), was synthesized hydrothermally and characterized by single-crystal and powder X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and thermal analysis. Its crystal structure is made up of a zigzag inorganic chain formed by edge-sharing of [SrO8] polyhedra running along [001]. Adjacent chains are connected to each other via the carboxylate groups of the ligand, resulting in a double-layered network extending parallel to (100). O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds of medium-to-weak strength between the layers consolidate the three-dimensional structure. One of the carboxylic OH functions was found to be disordered over two sets of sites with half-occupancy.

Abstract
Crystals of the new compound, AgSr4Cu4.5(PO4)6, were grown successfully by the hydro-thermal process. The asymmetric unit of the crystal structure of the title compound contains 40 independent atoms (4 Sr, 4.5 Cu, 1 Ag, 6 P and 24 O), which are all in general positions except for one Cu atom, which is located on an inversion centre. The Cu atoms are arranged in CuO n (n = 4 or 5) polyhedra, linked through common oxygen corners to build a rigid three-dimensional motif. The connection of these copper units is assured by PO4 tetra-hedra. This arrangement allows the construction of layers extending parallel to the (100) plane and hosts suitable cavities in which Ag+ and Sr2+ cations are located. The crystal-structure cohesion is ensured by ionic bonds between the silver and strontium cations and the oxygen anions belonging to two adjacent sheets. Charge-distribution analysis and bond-valence-sum calculations were used to validate the structural model.

Abstract
The new form of NaMnAsO4 (denoted as β) crystallizes in the monoclinic crystal system and is isotypic with one form of NaCoPO4 and with NaCuAsO4. A new form of NaMnAsO4, sodium manganese(II) orthoarsenate, has been obtained under hydrothermal conditions, and is referred to as the β-polymorph. In contrast to the previously reported orthorhombic α-polymorph that crystallizes in the olivine-type of structure and has one manganese(II) cation in a distorted octahedral coordination, the current β-polymorph contains two manganese(II) cations in [5]-coordination, intermediate between a square-pyramid and a trigonal bipyramid. In the crystal structure of β-NaMnAsO4, four [MnO5] polyhedra are linked through vertex- and edge-sharing into finite {Mn4O16} units strung into rows parallel to [100]. These units are linked through two distinct orthoarsenate groups into a framework structure with channels propagating parallel to the manganese oxide rows. Both unique sodium cations are situated inside the channels and exhibit coordination numbers of six and seven. β-NaMnAsO4 is isotypic with one form of NaCoPO4 and with NaCuAsO4.

Abstract
The hydrated title salt, [Cd2Cl2(C10H8N2)4](C9H5N4O)2·0.81H2O, was obtained from the hydro-thermal reaction between 2,2'-bi-pyridine, cadmium(II) chloride and potassium 1,1,3,3-tetra-cyano-2-eth-oxy-propenide. The binuclear cation lies across a centre of inversion in the space group P21/c, with the other components in general positions. The cation has approximate, but non-crystallographic 2/m symmetry and each of the CdII atoms is a stereogenic centre, one having the Δ configuration and the other the Λ configuration. In the anion, one of the C(CN)2 units is disordered over two sets of atomic sites having occupancies 0.75 (2) and 0.25 (2). The cations are linked by two independent C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds to form a sheet of R22(14) and R42(24) rings.

Abstract
The title hydrated salt, C30H26N62+·2C9H5N4O-·3H2O, was obtained as an unexpected product from the hydro-thermal reaction between potassium 1,1,3,3-tetra-cyano-2-eth-oxy-propenide, 4,4'-bi-pyridine and iron(II) sulfate hepta-hydrate. The cation lies across a twofold rotation axis in the space group I2/a with the other components all in general positions. In the cation, the H atom linking the pyridine units is disordered over two adjacent sites having occupancies of 0.66 (4) and 0.36 (4), i.e. as N-H⋯N and N⋯H-N. The water mol-ecules of crystallization are each disordered over two sets of atomic sites, having occupancies of 0.522 (6) and 0.478 (6) for one, and 0.34 (3) and 0.16 (3) for the other, and it was not possible to reliably locate the H atoms associated with these partial-occupancy sites. In the crystal, four independent C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds link the ionic components into a three-dimensional network.

Abstract
K0.7[FeII3.7FeIII1.3(HPO3)6]·5H2O was synthesized under mild hydrothermal conditions. The open-framework phosphite contains channels extending along [001] in which disordered potassium cations and water molecules are located. Single crystals of the title compound, potassium hexaphosphitopentaferrate(II,III) hemihydrate, K0.75[FeII3.75FeIII1.25(HPO3)6]·0.5H2O, were grown under mild hydrothermal conditions. The crystal structure is isotypic with Li1.43[FeII4.43FeIII0.57(HPO3)6]·1.5H2O and (NH4)2[FeII5(HPO3)6] and exhibits a [FeII3.75FeIII1.25(HPO3)6]0.75− open framework with disordered K+ (occupancy 3/4) as counter-cations. The anionic framework is based on (001) sheets of two [FeO6] octahedra (one with point group symmetry 3.. and one with point group symmetry .2.) linked along [001] through [HPO3]2− oxoanions. Each sheet is constructed from 12-membered rings of edge-sharing [FeO6] octahedra, giving rise to channels with a radius of ca 3.1 Å where the K+ cations and likewise disordered water molecules (occupancy 1/4) are located. O⋯O contacts between the water molecule and framework O atoms of 2.864 (5) Å indicate hydrogen-bonding interactions of medium strength. The infrared spectrum of the compound shows vibrational bands typical for phosphite and water groups. The Mössbauer spectrum is in accordance with the presence of FeII and FeIII ions.

Abstract
The crystal structure of the title compound, cadmium sulfate monohydrate or poly[(μ2-aqua)(μ4-sulfato)cadmium], was redetermined based on modern CMOS (complementary metal oxide silicon) data. In comparison with the previous study [Bregeault & Herpin (1970 ▸). Bull. Soc. Fr. Mineral. Cristallogr.93, 37–42], all non-H atoms were refined with anisotropic displacement parameters and the hydrogen-bonding pattern unambiguously established due to location of the hydrogen atoms. In addition, a significant improvement in terms of precision and accuracy was achieved. In the crystal, the Cd2+ cation is coordinated by four O atoms of four sulfate anions and two O atoms of water molecules, forming a distorted octahedral trans-[CdO6] polyhedron. Each sulfate anion bridges four Cd2+ cations and each water molecule bridges two Cd2+ cations, leading to the formation of a three-dimensional framework, with Cd⋯Cd separations in the range 4.0757 (2)–6.4462 (3) Å. O—H⋯O hydrogen-bonding interactions of medium strength between the coordinating water molecules and sulfate anions consolidate the crystal packing.

Abstract
The title compound, sodium trimagnesium bis-(hydrogen phosphate) phosphate, was obtained under hydro-thermal conditions. In the crystal, two types of [MgO6] octa-hedra, one with point group symmetry 2, share edges to build chains extending parallel to [10-1]. These chains are linked together by two kinds of phosphate tetra-hedra, HPO4 and PO4, the latter with point group symmetry 2. The three-dimensional framework delimits two different types of channels extending along [001]. One channel hosts the Na(+) cations (site symmetry 2) surrounded by eight O atoms, with Na-O bond lengths varying between 2.2974 (13) and 2.922 (2) Å. The OH group of the HPO4 tetra-hedron points into the other type of channel and exhibits a strong hydrogen bond to an O atom of the PO4 tetra-hedron on the opposite side.

Abstract
[Zn(HPO4)(l-met)]n is a rare example of a one-dimensional zincophosphate compound with a homochiral structure. Ladder-like chains of alternating ZnO4 and (HO)PO3 tetrahedra are bedecked on each side by zwitterionic l-methionine ligands, which interact with the inorganic framework via Zn—O coordination bonds. catena-Poly[[(l-methionine-κO)zinc]-μ3-(hydrogen phosphato)-κ3O:O′:O′′], [Zn{PO3(OH)}(C5H11NO2S)]n, a new one-dimensional homochiral zincophosphate, was hydrothermally synthesized using l-methionine as a structure-directing agent. The compound consists of a network of ZnO4 and (HO)PO3 tetrahedra that form ladder-like chains of edge-fused Zn2P2O4 rings propagating parallel to [100]. The chains are decorated on each side by zwitterionic l-methionine ligands, which interact with the inorganic framework via Zn—O coordination bonds. The structure displays interchain N—H⋯O and O—H⋯S hydrogen bonds.

Abstract
The crystal structure of the β-polymorph of ZnMoO4 was re-determined on the basis of single-crystal X-ray diffraction data. In comparison with previous powder X-ray diffraction studies [Katikaneani & Arunachalam (2005 ▸). Eur. J. Inorg. Chem. pp. 3080-3087; Cavalcante et al. (2013 ▸). Polyhedron, 54, 13-25], all atoms were refined with anisotropic displacement parameters, leading to a higher precision with respect to bond lengths and angles. β-ZnMoO4 adopts the wolframite structure type and is composed of distorted ZnO6 and MoO6 octa-hedra, both with point group symmetry 2. The distortion of the octa-hedra is reflected by variation of bond lengths and angles from 2.002 (3)-2.274 (4) Å, 80.63 (11)-108.8 (2)° for equatorial and 158.4 (2)- 162.81 (14)° for axial angles (ZnO6), and of 1.769 (3)-2.171 (3) Å, 73.39 (16)-104.7 (2), 150.8 (2)-164.89 (15)° (MoO6), respectively. In the crystal structure, the same type of MO6 octa-hedra share edges to built up zigzag chains extending parallel to [001]. The two types of chains are condensed by common vertices into a framework structure. The crystal structure can alternatively be described as derived from a distorted hexa-gonally closed packed arrangement of the O atoms, with Zn and Mo in half of the octa-hedral voids.

Abstract
The structure of (NH4)[La(SO4)2(H2O)] comprises LaO9 polyhedra and SO4 tetrahedra, which are linked by common edges and vertices, forming a three-dimensional network with the hydrogen-bonded NH4+ ions in the cavities. The principal building units in the crystal structure of ammonium aquabis(sulfato)lanthanate(III) are slightly distorted SO4 tetrahedra, LaO9 polyhedra in the form of distorted tricapped trigonal prisms, and NH4+ ions. The La3+ cation is coordinated by eight O atoms from six different sulfate tetrahedra, two of which are bidentate coordinating and four monodentate, as well as one O atom from a water molecule; each sulfate anion bridges three La3+ cations. These bridging modes result in the formation of a three-dimensional anionic [La(SO4)2(H2O)]− framework that is stabilized by O—H⋯O hydrogen-bonding interactions. The disordered ammonium cations are situated in the cavities of this framework and are hydrogen-bonded to six surrounding O atoms.

Abstract
The title compound, poly[di-aqua-tris-(μ4-but-2-enedioato)(μ2-but-2-enedioic acid)dilanthanum(III)], [La2(C4H2O4)3(C4H4O4)(H2O)2] n , was synthesized by the reaction of lanthanum chloride penta-hydrate with fumaric acid under hydro-thermal conditions. The asymmetric unit comprises an La(III) cation, one and a half fumarate dianions (L (2-)), one a half-mol-ecule of fumaric acid (H2 L) and one coordinated water mol-ecule. Each La(III) cation has the same nine-coordinate environment and is surrounded by eight O atoms from seven distinct fumarate moieties, including one proton-ated fumarate unit and one water mol-ecule in a distorted tricapped trigonal-prismatic environment. The LaO8(H2O) polyhedra centres are edge-shared through three carboxyl-ate bridges of the fumarate ligand, forming chains in three dimensions to construct the MOF. The crystal structure is stabilized by O-H⋯O hydrogen-bond inter-actions between the coordin-ated water mol-ecule and the carboxyl-ate O atoms, and also between oxygen atoms of fumaric acid.

Abstract
The title compound, Mn2Zn(PO4)2·H2O, was obtained under hydro-thermal conditions. The structure is isotypic with other transition metal phosphates of the type M 3- xM' x (PO4)2·H2O, but shows no statistical disorder of the three metallic sites. The principal building units are distorted [MnO6] and [MnO5(H2O)] octa-hedra, a distorted [ZnO5] square pyramid and two regular PO4 tetra-hedra. The connection of the polyhedra leads to a framework structure. Two types of layers parallel to (-101) can be distinguished in this framework. One layer contains [Zn2O8] dimers linked to PO4 tetra-hedra via common edges. The other layer is more corrugated and contains [Mn2O8(H2O)2] dimers and [MnO6] octa-hedra linked together by common edges. The PO4 tetra-hedra link the two types of layers into a framework structure with channels parallel to [101]. The H atoms of the water mol-ecules point into the channels and form O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds (one of which is bifurcated) with framework O atoms across the channels.

Abstract
The crystal structure of magnesium copper(II) bis[orthophosphate(V)] monohydrate is formed by three types of cationic sites and by two unique (PO4)3− anions. One site is occupied by Cu2+, the second site by Mg2+and the third site by a mixture of the two cations with an Mg2+:Cu2+ occupancy ratio of 0.657 (3):0.343 (3). Single crystals of magnesium copper(II) bis[orthophosphate(V)] monohydrate, Mg1.65Cu1.35(PO4)2·H2O, were grown under hydrothermal conditions. The crystal structure is formed by three types of cationic sites and by two unique (PO4)3− anions. One site is occupied by Cu2+, the second site by Mg2+and the third site by a mixture of the two cations with an Mg2+:Cu2+ occupancy ratio of 0.657 (3):0.343 (3). The structure is built up from more or less distorted [MgO6] and [(Mg/Cu)O5(H2O)] octahedra, [CuO5] square-pyramids and regular PO4 tetrahedra, leading to a framework structure. Within this framework, two types of layers parallel to (-101) can be distinguished. The first layer is formed by [Cu2O8] dimers linked to PO4 tetrahedra via common edges. The second, more corrugated layer results from the linkage between [(Cu/Mg)2O8(H2O)2] dimers and [MgO6] octahedra by common edges. The PO4 units link the two types of layers, leaving space for channels parallel [101], into which the H atoms of the water molecules protrude. The latter are involved in O—H⋯O hydrogen-bonding interactions (one bifurcated) with framework O atoms across the channels.

Abstract
In the crystal structure of bis(propane-1,3-diammonium) hexafluoridoaluminate diaquatetrafluoridoaluminate tetrahydrate, two different environments of the Al3+ cations are observed, namely, AlF6 and AlF4(H2O)2. The title compound, (C3H12N2)2[AlF6][AlF4(H2O)2]·4H2O, was obtained by a solvothermal method in ethanol as solvent and with aluminium hydroxide, HF and 1,3-diaminopropane as educts. The asymmetric unit contains a quarter each of two crystallographically independent propane-1,3-diammonium dications, [AlF6]3− and [AlF4(H2O)2]− anions and four water molecules. The cations, anions and three of the independent water molecules are situated on special positions mm, while the fourth water molecule is disordered about a mirror plane. In the crystal, intermolecular N—H⋯F and O—H⋯F hydrogen bonds link the cations and anions into a three-dimensional framework with the voids filled by water molecules, which generate O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds and further consolidate the packing.
