Abstract
This study evaluates cellular damage, metabolite profiling, and defence-related gene expression in tomato plants and soil microflora during Fusarium wilt disease after treatment with B. tequilensis PBE-1. Histochemical analysis showed that PBE-1 was the primary line of defence through lignin deposition and reduced cell damage. GC-MS revealed that PBE-1 treatment ameliorated stress caused by F. oxysporum infection. PBE-1 also improved transpiration, photosynthesis, and stomatal conductance in tomato. qRT-PCR suggested that the defence-related genes FLS2, SERK, NOS, WRKYT, NHO, SAUR, and MYC2, which spread infection, were highly upregulated during F. oxysporum infection, but either downregulated or expressed normally in PBE-1 + P treated plants. This indicates that the plant not only perceives the bio-control agent as a non-pathogen entity but its presence in normal metabolism and gene expression within the host plant is maintained. The study further corroborated findings that application of PBE-1 does not cause ecological disturbances in the rhizosphere. Activity of soil microflora across four treatments, measured by Average Well Colour Development (AWCD), showed continuous increases from weeks 1 to 4 post-pathogen infection, with distinct substrate usage patterns like tannic and fumaric acids impacting microbial energy source utilization and diversity. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and diversity indices like McIntosh, Shannon, and Simpson further illustrated significant microbial community shifts over the study period. In conclusion, our findings demonstrate that B. tequilensis PBE-1 is an ideal bio-agent for field application during Fusarium wilt disease management in tomato.

Abstract
AIMS Synovial sarcoma is a rare but aggressive variant of soft-tissue sarcoma. Literature is sparse and reported mostly from the West. We analysed the clinical profiles and prognostic factors of extremity synovial sarcoma patients in order to study their clinical journey. MATERIALS AND METHODS This was a retrospective analysis. All patients with extremity synovial sarcoma treated between 1992 and 2020 were included. Patients with metastases at presentation were excluded. A descriptive analysis of demographic and clinicopathological features of patients undergoing limb salvage surgery (LSS) or amputation was carried out. Overall survival and disease-free survival were calculated for the entire cohort as well as for the LSS and amputation groups. Factors prognostic for survival were identified. RESULTS In total, 157 patients had localised extremity synovial sarcoma. Predominantly, young adults (median 31 years) and males (61%) were affected. Over 70% of patients presented after recurrence or unplanned surgeries. Sixty-seven per cent of tumours were >5 cm, 69% were deep and 23% involved bone. The limb salvage rate was 64%. In the LSS group, adjuvant radiotherapy and chemotherapy were given to 72% and 68% of patients, respectively. In the amputation group, 72% of patients received adjuvant chemotherapy. In a median follow-up of 59 months, 39.4% of patients had recurrences, the majority (61.2%) were systemic. Five-year overall survival and disease-free survival were 53.4% and 49.8%, respectively. Overall survival was 63.9% and 29.7% in the LSS and amputation groups, respectively. On multivariate analysis, tumour size, depth, omission of radiotherapy and bone invasion were found to be the adverse prognostic factors. CONCLUSION This is one of the largest studies on extremity synovial sarcoma. Mostly males and young adults were affected. The limb salvage rate was 64%, despite most being referred after unplanned surgery. Almost 70% of patients received radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Overall survival was inferior in the amputation group. Tumour size >5 cm, depth and bone invasion were negative, whereas adjuvant radiotherapy was a positive prognostic factor for survival. Chemotherapy had no impact on survival.

Abstract
Bandgap-tuneable mixed-halide 3D perovskites are of interest for multi-junction solar cells, but suffer from photoinduced spatial halide segregation. Mixed-halide 2D perovskites are more resistant to halide segregation and are promising coatings for 3D perovskite solar cells. The properties of mixed-halide compositions depend on the local halide distribution, which is challenging to study at the level of single octahedra. In particular, it has been suggested that there is a preference for occupation of the distinct axial and equatorial halide sites in mixed-halide 2D perovskites. 207 Pb NMR can be used to probe the atomic-scale structure of lead-halide materials, but although the isotropic 207 Pb shift is sensitive to halide stoichiometry, it cannot distinguish configurational isomers. Here, we use 2D isotropic-anisotropic correlation 207 Pb NMR and relativistic DFT calculations to distinguish the [PbX6 ] configurations in mixed iodide-bromide 3D FAPb(Br1-x Ix )3 perovskites and 2D BA2 Pb(Br1-x Ix )4 perovskites based on formamidinium (FA+ ) and butylammonium (BA+ ), respectively. We find that iodide preferentially occupies the axial site in BA-based 2D perovskites, which may explain the suppressed halide mobility.

Abstract
Prostate cancer is a widespread malignancy among men, with a substantial global impact on morbidity and mortality. Despite advances in conventional therapies, the need for innovative and less toxic treatments remains a priority. Emerging evidence suggests that dietary plant metabolites possess epigenetic-modifying properties, making them attractive candidates for prostate cancer treatment. The present work reviews the epigenetic effects of dietary plant metabolites in the context of prostate cancer therapy. We first outline the key epigenetic mechanisms involved in prostate cancer pathogenesis, including histone modifications, DNA methylation, and miRNA or Long Noncoding RNA (lncRNA) dysregulation. Next, we delve into the vast array of dietary plant metabolites that have demonstrated promising anti-cancer effects through epigenetic regulation. Resveratrol, minerals, isothiocyanates, curcumin, tea polyphenols, soy isoflavones and phytoestrogens, garlic compounds, anthocyanins, lycopene, and indoles are among the most extensively studied compounds. These plant-derived bioactive compounds have been shown to influence DNA methylation patterns, histone modifications, and microRNA expression, thereby altering the gene expression allied with prostate cancer progression, cell proliferation, and apoptosis. We also explore preclinical and clinical studies investigating the efficacy of dietary plant metabolites as standalone treatments or in combination with traditional treatments for people with prostate cancer. The present work highlights the potential of dietary plant metabolites as epigenetic modulators to treat prostate cancer. Continued research in this field may pave the way for personalized and precision medicine approaches, moving us closer to the goal of improved prostate cancer management.

Abstract
EMBL-EBI provides a broad range of training in data-driven life sciences. To improve awareness and access to training course listings and to make digital learning materials findable and simple to use, the EMBL-EBI Training website, www.ebi.ac.uk/training, was redesigned and restructured. To provide a framework for the redesign of the website, the FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable) principles were applied to both the listings of live training courses and the presentation of on-demand training content. Each of the FAIR principles guided decisions on the choice of technology used to develop the website, including the details provided about training and the way in which training was presented. Since its release the openly accessible website has been accessed by an average of 58,492 users a month. There have also been over 12,000 unique users creating accounts since the functionality was added in March 2022, allowing these users to track their learning and record completion of training. Development of the website was completed using the Agile Scrum project management methodology and a focus on user experience. This framework continues to be used now that the website is live for the maintenance and improvement of the website, as feedback continues to be collected and further ways to make training FAIR are identified. Here, we describe the process of making EMBL-EBI's training FAIR through the development of a new website and our experience of implementing Agile Scrum.

Abstract
A significant advancement in the field of epigenetic drug discovery has been evidenced in recent years. Epigenetic alterations are hereditary, nevertheless reversible variations to DNA or histone adaptations that regulate gene function individualistically of the fundamental sequence. The design and synthesis of various drugs targeting epigenetic regulators open a new door for epigenetic-targeted therapies to parade worthwhile therapeutic potential for haematological and solid malignancies. Several ongoing clinical trials on dual targeting strategy are being conducted comprising HDAC inhibitory component and an epigenetic regulating agent. In this perspective, the review discusses the pharmacological aspects of HDAC and other epigenetic regulating factors as dual inhibitors as an emerging alternative approach for combination therapies.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To assess and compare the immunogenicity of recombinant Insulin Aspart [manufactured by BioGenomics Limited (BGL-ASP)] with its originator NovoRapid® (manufactured by Novo Nordisk) in adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS BGL-IA-CTP301 study was a randomized, open label, parallel group, multicenter phase-III clinical study to compare the efficacy and safety of recombinant Insulin Aspart 100 U/mL [manufactured by BioGenomics Limited (BGL-ASP)] with its reference medicinal product (RMP); NovoRapid® [manufactured by Novo Nordisk], in adult patients with Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). The primary objective of the study was to compare the immunogenicity of BGL-ASP and RMP; NovoRapid® in patient serum samples collected from phase-III clinical study. Immunogenicity was studied as the incidence of patients positive for anti-insulin Aspart (AIA) antibodies, developed against BGL-ASP/RMP at baseline, end of 12 week and end of 24 week of the treatment period. The changes in incidence of patients positive for AIA antibodies post-baseline were also studied to assess and compare the treatment-emergent antibody response (TEAR) between the treatment groups (BGL-ASP and RMP). Statistical evaluation was done by Fisher's exact test to compare the overall incidence of patients positive for AIA antibodies and the TEAR positives observed post-baseline in both the treated groups. An in-vitro neutralizing antibody assay (Nab assay) was also performed to study the effect of AIA antibodies in neutralizing the biological activity/metabolic function of the insulin. The neutralizing potential of AIA was studied by its effect on %glucose uptake. We also evaluated the association between AIA antibody levels and its impact on biological activity by studying the correlation between them. RESULTS Analysis of immunogenicity data suggested that the percentage of patients positive for AIA antibodies until week 24 was similar and comparable in both the treatment groups, BGL-ASP and RMP; NovoRapid®. The changes in incidence of patients positive for AIA post-baseline in terms of TEAR positives were also similar and comparable between the treatment groups. The results of the Nab assay with confirmed positive AIA samples from BGL-ASP- and RMP-treated groups did not have any negative impact on %glucose uptake by the cells in Nab assay, confirming the absence of neutralizing antibodies in both the treatment groups. The correlation studies also showed absence of association between AIA antibody levels and percentage glucose uptake in both BGL-ASP and RMP-NovoRapid® treatment groups. CONCLUSIONS: The immunogenicity assessment based on the overall incidence of patients positive for AIA, changes in incidence of patients positive for AIA post-baseline, TEAR rates and absence of neutralizing antibodies, were found to be apparently similar and comparable in both the treatment groups (BGL-ASP and RMP). We conclude from our studies that the immunogenicity of BGL-ASP is similar and comparable to RMP and the observed immunogenicity in terms of anti-insulin Aspart antibody levels had no impact on the biological activity of insulin.

Abstract
The gut microbiome has emerged as a key regulator of response to cancer immunotherapy. However, there is a gap in our understanding of the underlying mechanisms by which the microbiome influences immunotherapy. To this end, we developed a mathematical model based on i) gut microbiome data derived from preclinical studies on melanomas after fecal microbiota transplant, ii) mechanistic modeling of antitumor immune response, and iii) robust association analysis of murine and human microbiome profiles with model-predicted immune profiles. Using our model, we could distill the complexity of these murine and human studies on microbiome modulation in terms of just two model parameters: the activation and killing rate constants of immune cells. We further investigated associations between specific bacterial taxonomies and antitumor immunity and immunotherapy efficacy. This model can guide the design of studies to refine and validate mechanistic links between the microbiome and immune system.

Abstract
BACKGROUND A program of gasless laparoscopy (GL) has been implemented in rural North-East India. To facilitate safe adoption, participating rural surgeons underwent rigorous training prior to independent clinical practice. An online registry was established to capture clinical data on safety and efficacy and to evaluate initial learning curves for gasless laparoscopy. METHODS Surgeons who had completed the GL training program participated in the online RedCap Registry. Patients included in the registry provided informed consent for the use of their data. Data on operative times, conversion rates, perioperative complications, length of stay, and hospital costs were collected. Fixed reference cumulative sum (CUSUM) model was used to evaluate the learning curve based on operative times and conversion rates published in the literature. RESULTS Four surgeons from three rural hospitals in North-East India participated in the registry. The data were collected over 12 months, from September 2019 to August 2020. One hundred and twenty-three participants underwent GL procedures, including 109 females (88.6%) and 14 males. GL procedures included cholecystectomy, appendicectomy, tubal ligation, ovarian cystectomy, diagnostic laparoscopy, and adhesiolysis. The mean operative time was 75.3 (42.05) minutes for all the surgeries. Conversion from GL to open surgery occurred in 11.4% of participants, with 8.9% converted to conventional laparoscopy. The main reasons for conversion were the inability to secure an operative view, lack of operating space, and adhesions. The mean length of stay was 3 (2.1) days. The complication rate was 5.7%, with one postoperative death. The CUSUM analysis for GL cholecystectomy showed a longer learning curve for operative time and few conversions. The learning curve for GL tubal ligation was relatively shorter. CONCLUSION Gasless laparoscopy can be safely implemented in the rural settings of Northeast India with appropriate training programs. Careful case selection is essential during the early stages of the surgical learning curve.

Abstract
Despite the continuous progress in food science and technology, the global burden of foodborne illnesses remains substantial, with pathogens in food causing millions of infections each year. Traditional microbiological culture methods are inadequate in detecting the full spectrum of these microorganisms, highlighting the need for more comprehensive detection strategies. This review paper aims to elucidate the relationship between foodborne pathogen colonization and the composition of the poultry microbiome, and how this knowledge can be used for improved food safety. Our review highlights that the relationship between pathogen colonization varies across different sections of the poultry microbiome. Further, our review suggests that the microbiome profile of poultry litter, farm soil, and farm dust may serve as potential indicators of the farm environment's food safety issues. We also agree that the microbiome of processed chicken samples may reveal potential pathogen contamination and food quality issues. In addition, utilizing predictive modeling techniques on the collected microbiome data, we suggest establishing correlations between particular taxonomic groups and the colonization of pathogens, thus providing insights into food safety, and offering a comprehensive overview of the microbial community. In conclusion, this review underscores the potential of microbiome analysis as a powerful tool in food safety, pathogen detection, and risk assessment.

Abstract
Importance The gut microbiome modulates the immune system and responses to immunotherapy in patients with late-stage melanoma. It is unknown whether fecal microbiota profiles differ between healthy individuals and patients with melanoma or if microbiota profiles differ among patients with different stages of melanoma. Defining gut microbiota profiles in individuals without melanoma and those with early-stage and late-stage melanoma may reveal features associated with disease progression. Objective To characterize and compare gut microbiota profiles between healthy volunteers and patients with melanoma and between patients with early-stage and late-stage melanoma. Design, Setting, and Participants This single-site case-control study took place at an academic comprehensive cancer center. Fecal samples were collected from systemic treatment-naive patients with stage I to IV melanoma from June 1, 2015, to January 31, 2019, and from healthy volunteers from June 1, 2021, to January 31, 2022. Patients were followed up for disease recurrence until November 30, 2021. Main Outcomes and Measures Fecal microbiota was profiled by 16S ribosomal RNA sequencing. Clinical and pathologic characteristics, treatment, and disease recurrence were extracted from electronic medical records. Fecal microbiome diversity, taxonomic profiles and inferred functional profiles were compared between groups. Results A total of 228 participants were enrolled (126 men [55.3%]; median age, 59 [range, 21-90] years), including 49 volunteers without melanoma, 38 patients with early-stage melanoma (29 with stage I or melanoma in situ and 9 with stage II), and 141 with late-stage melanoma (66 with stage III and 75 with stage IV). Community differences were observed between patients with melanoma and volunteers. Patients with melanoma had a higher relative abundance of Fusobacterium compared with controls on univariate analysis (0.19% vs 0.003%; P < .001), but this association was attenuated when adjusted for covariates (log2 fold change of 5.18 vs controls; P = .09). Microbiomes were distinct between patients with early-stage and late-stage melanoma. Early-stage melanoma had a higher alpha diversity (Inverse Simpson Index 14.6 [IQR, 9.8-23.0] vs 10.8 [IQR, 7.2-16.8]; P = .003), and a higher abundance of the genus Roseburia on univariate analysis (2.4% vs 1.2%; P < .001) though statistical significance was lost with covariate adjustment (log2 fold change of 0.86 vs controls; P = .13). Multiple functional pathways were differentially enriched between groups. No associations were observed between the microbial taxa and disease recurrence in patients with stage III melanoma treated with adjuvant immunotherapy. Conclusions and Relevance The findings of this case-control study suggest that fecal microbiota profiles were significantly different among patients with melanoma and controls and between patients with early-stage and late-stage melanoma. Prospective investigations of the gut microbiome and changes that occur with disease progression may identify future microbial targets for intervention.

Abstract
A systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted to idetnify the relative contributions of the sources of Campylobacter in poultry live production to Campylobacter prevalence of broiler meat. The keywords of Campylobacter, prevalence, live production, and broiler were used in Google Scholar to address the research interest. A total of 16,800 citations were identified, and 63 relevant citations were included in the meta-analysis after applying predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria. A generalized linear mixed model approach combined with logit transformation was used in the current meta-analysis to stabilize the variance. The analysis revealed that Campylobacter is ubiquitous in the poultry house exterior environment including surroundings, wildlife, domestic animals, and farm vehicle, with a predicted prevalence of 14%. The recovery of Campylobacter in the interior environment of the poultry house is far less abundant than in the exterior, with a prevalence of 2%, including litter, water, insects, mice, feed, and air. A lack of evidence was observed for vertical transmission due to the day-old chicks being free of Campylobacter from 4 studies identified. Live birds are the predominant carrier of Campylobacter, with a predicted prevalence of 41%. Transportation equipment used for live haul had an overall prevalence of 39%, with vehicles showing a predicted prevalence of 44% and crates with a predicted prevalence of 22%. The results of this meta-analysis highlight the need to implement effective biosecurity measures to minimize the risk of Campylobacter in poultry meat, as human activity appears to be the primary factor for Campylobacter introduction.

Abstract
BACKGROUND An array of commercially viable intermediate molecules necessary for the synthesis of a variety of bioactive molecules are chemically synthesized by pyrrolidine and its derivatives, which play a significant role in drug design and development process. AIM The aim of the present research work was to explore the synthesis of some new pyrrolidine derivatives and to perform their in silico studies and finally evaluation of analgesic and anti-inflammatory activity. OBJECTIVE The purpose of this study was to synthesis new pyrrolidine derivatives, examine how they affected the COX-1 and COX-2 enzymes computationally, and to screen their in vivo analgesic and anti-inflammatory activity on laboratory animals. METHOD The new pyrrolidine derivatives were synthesized by condensing N-(3-acetylphenyl)-2-(pyrrolidin-1-yl)acetamide with substituted aniline in ethanol in the presence of catalytic amounts of glacial acetic acid. The structures of novel pyrrolidine derivatives were characterised using IR, NMR, and mass spectroscopy. Several molecular properties of the newly synthesized derivatives were calculated in order to evaluate the nature of the drug-like candidate. A specific reference cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzyme was used to dock the newly synthesized pyrrolidine derivatives. RESULTS From the observed data, it was noted that amongst all newly synthesized compounds, A-1 and A-4 exhibited the highest anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects, respectively. CONCLUSION On the basis of findings of present research, it was concluded that A-1 and A-4 might be utilized as a promising new lead compound for Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAIDs) development.

Abstract
Low sensitivity is the primary limitation to extending nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) techniques to more advanced chemical and structural studies. Photochemically induced dynamic nuclear polarization (photo-CIDNP) is an NMR hyperpolarization technique where light is used to excite a suitable donor-acceptor system, creating a spin-correlated radical pair whose evolution drives nuclear hyperpolarization. Systems that exhibit photo-CIDNP in solids are not common, and this effect has, up to now, only been observed for 13C and 15N nuclei. However, the low gyromagnetic ratio and natural abundance of these nuclei trap the local hyperpolarization in the vicinity of the chromophore and limit the utility for bulk hyperpolarization. Here, we report the first example of optically enhanced solid-state 1H NMR spectroscopy in the high-field regime. This is achieved via photo-CIDNP of a donor-chromophore-acceptor molecule in a frozen solution at 0.3 T and 85 K, where spontaneous spin diffusion among the abundant strongly coupled 1H nuclei relays polarization through the whole sample, yielding a 16-fold bulk 1H signal enhancement under continuous laser irradiation at 450 nm. These findings enable a new strategy for hyperpolarized NMR beyond the current limits of conventional microwave-driven DNP.

Abstract
The intrinsic low sensitivity of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) experiments limits their utility for structure determination of materials. Dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) under magic angle spinning (MAS) has shown tremendous potential to overcome this key limitation, enabling the acquisition of highly selective and sensitive NMR spectra. However, so far, DNP methods have not been explored in the context of inorganic lead halide perovskites, which are a leading class of semiconductor materials for optoelectronic applications. In this work, we study cesium lead chloride and quantitatively compare DNP methods based on impregnation with a solution of organic biradicals with doping of high-spin metal ions (Mn2+) into the perovskite structure. We find that metal-ion DNP provides the highest bulk sensitivity in this case, while highly surface-selective NMR spectra can be acquired using impregnation DNP. The performance of both methods is explained in terms of the relaxation times, particle size, dopant concentration, and surface wettability. We envisage the future use of DNP NMR approaches in establishing structure-activity relationships in inorganic perovskites, especially for mass-limited samples such as thin films.

Abstract
Salmonella is a major foodborne pathogen associated with poultry and poultry products and a leading cause for human salmonellosis. Salmonella is known to transmit in poultry flocks both vertically and horizontally. However, there is a lack of knowledge on relative contribution of the factors on Salmonella prevalence in poultry live production system including hatchery, feed, water, environment-interior, and -exterior. Therefore, a systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted to quantify the potential sources of Salmonella during preharvest and their relative contributions to the microbial risk of poultry meat. A total of 16,800 studies identified from Google Scholar and 37 relevant studies were included in the meta-analysis for relative contributions to Salmonella positivity on broilers after applying exclusion criteria. A generalized linear mixed model approach combined with logit transformation was used in the current study to stabilize the variance. The analysis revealed that the hatchery is the most significant contributor of Salmonella with a prevalence of 48.5%. Litter, feces, and poultry house internal environment were the other 3 major contributing factors with a prevalence of 25.4, 16.3, and 7.9%, respectively. Moreover, poultry house external environment (4.7%), feed (4.8%), chicks (4.7%), and drinker water also contributed to the Salmonella positivity. Results from this meta-analysis informed the urgent need for controls in live production to further reduce Salmonella in fresh, processed poultry. The control strategies can include eliminating the sources of Salmonella and incorporating interventions in live production to reduce Salmonella concentrations in broilers.

Abstract
Photoinduced halide segregation hinders widespread application of three-dimensional (3D) mixed-halide perovskites. Much less is known about this phenomenon in lower-dimensional systems. Here, we study photoinduced halide segregation in lower-dimensional mixed iodide-bromide perovskites (PEA2MA n-1Pb n (Br x I1-x )3n+1, with PEA+: phenethylammonium and MA+: methylammonium) through time-dependent photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy. We show that layered two-dimensional (2D) structures render additional stability against the demixing of halide phases under illumination. We ascribe this behavior to reduced halide mobility due to the intrinsic heterogeneity of 2D mixed-halide perovskites, which we demonstrate via 207Pb solid-state NMR. However, the dimensionality of the 2D phase is critical in regulating photostability. By tracking the PL of multidimensional perovskite films under illumination, we find that while halide segregation is largely inhibited in 2D perovskites (n = 1), it is not suppressed in quasi-2D phases (n = 2), which display a behavior intermediate between 2D and 3D and a peculiar absence of halide redistribution in the dark that is only induced at higher temperature for the quasi-2D phase.

Abstract
The main cause of mortality around the globe is cardiovascular disease (CVD). There are several indications followed by experimental validation that dysfunctional lipotoxicity is one of the primary causes of cardiovascular illnesses such as atherosclerosis, “coronary heart disease”, (CHD), and hypertension. Obesity and diabetes raise the number of circulating lipids, which may enhance the production of harmful intermediates and cause issues related to cardiovascular disorders. Effective and affordable medicines to lower cardiovascular risk are desperately required. Lipids or lipoprotein particles play a critical role in atherosclerosis, the pathophysiology behind CVD. They also have an effect on inflammatory processes, vascular or cardiac cell function, leukocyte activity, and ultimately the health of the heart and blood arteries. In this paper, an attempt was made to identify the cause of lipid buildup that led to the pathophysiology of cardiovascular disorders as well as the processes behind lipotoxicity. A summary of current and developing treatment approaches to decrease the incidence of lipid-induced cardiovascular disease is also compiled through previous studies.

Abstract
For human life, health, and biological growth, nutrition is crucial. A prominent example of a food that is nutrient rich at the moment is "Soybean”. In Asian nations, it is thought to be a significant source of proteins and may be used in place of dairy products and meat. When compared to other food legumes, soybeans offer several nutritional benefits in terms of their composition in macro- and micronutrients. As more information on negative effects of chemical treatments is being available to people, they are now is search of potential phytocompounds. The aim of the present review is to provide potential evidence of isoflavones in management of cardiovascular diseases like heart failure, myocardial infarction, hypertension and coronary artery disease. Nevertheless, soy isoflavones can have certain adverse consequences since they are endocrine disruptors. Thyroid function abnormalities have sparked concerns. In light of the aforementioned findings, an effort has been undertaken to examine the literature on the beneficial and harmful roles of isoflavones, soy-derived bioactive compounds.

Abstract
Background Density-dependent regulation is ubiquitous in population dynamics, and its potential interaction with environmental stochasticity complicates the characterization of the random component of population dynamics. Yet, this issue has not received attention commensurate with its relevance for descriptive and predictive modeling of population dynamics. Here we use a Bayesian modeling approach to investigate the contribution of density regulation to population variability in stochastic environments. Methods We analytically derive a formula linking the stationary variance of population abundance/density under Gompertz regulation in a stochastic environment with constant variance to the environmental variance and the strength of density feedback, to investigate whether and how density regulation affects the stationary variance. We examine through simulations whether the relationship between stationary variance and density regulation inferred analytically under the Gompertz model carries over to the Ricker model, widely used in population dynamics modeling. Results The analytical decomposition of the stationary variance under stochastic Gompertz dynamics implies higher variability for strongly regulated populations. Simulation results demonstrate that the pattern of increasing population variability with increasing density feedback found under the Gompertz model holds for the Ricker model as well, and is expected to be a general phenomenon with stochastic population models. We also analytically established and empirically validated that the square of the autoregressive parameter of the Gompertz model in AR(1) form represents the proportion of stationary variance due to density dependence. Discussion Our results suggest that neither environmental stochasticity nor density regulation can alone explain the patterns of population variability in stochastic environments, as these two components of temporal variation interact, with a tendency for density regulation to amplify the magnitude of environmentally induced population fluctuations. This finding has far-reaching implications for population viability. It implies that intense intra-specific resource competition increases the risk of environment-driven population collapse at high density, making opportune harvesting a sensible practice for improving the resistance of managed populations such as fish stocks to environmental perturbations. The separation of density-dependent and density-independent processes will help improve population dynamics modeling, while providing a basis for evaluating the relative importance of these two categories of processes that remains a topic of long-standing controversy among ecologists.

Abstract
Extreme heat along with metabolic stress associated with the postpartum period negatively affects the endocrine status of animals. Betaine is a feed additive that promotes animal growth. Since betaine contains three methyl groups, it acts as a methyl donor in animal metabolism. Eighteen postpartum Murrah buffaloes were randomly divided into T1 Group (Control), T2 and T3 Group was supplemented with betaine 50 g/animal/day and 100 g/animal/day respectively from 5th day postpartum and was continued up to 4 months postpartum. On day 50 postpartum the mean value of plasma cortisol of T1 Group was maximum followed by T2 Group and T3 Group had minimum plasma cortisol mean value which differed (P<0.05) significantly between groups. The mean concentration of plasma T3 total, T4 total, progesterone and estrogen showed (P>0.05) non-significant difference between all the groups. However, betaine fed T2 and T3 Group had higher plasma T3, T4, progesterone and estrogen as compared to control, it might be due to the effect of betaine, which reduces metabolic stress and activate hypothalmo-pituitary and gonadal axis after parturition and lactation period during heat stress.

Abstract
The organic cations in hybrid organic-inorganic perovskites rotate rapidly inside the cuboctahedral cavities formed by the inorganic lattice, influencing optoelectronic properties. Here, we provide a complete quantitative picture of cation dynamics for formamidinium-based perovskites and mixed-cation compositions, which are the most widely used and promising absorber layers for perovskite solar cells today. We use 2H and 14N quadrupolar solid-state NMR relaxometry under magic-angle spinning to determine the activation energy (Ea) and correlation time (τc) at room temperature for rotation about each principal axis of a series of organic cations. Specifically, we investigate methylammonium (MA+), formamidinium (FA+), and guanidinium (GUA+) cations in current state-of-the-art single- and multi-cation perovskite compositions. We find that MA+, FA+, and GUA+ all have at least one component of rotation that occurs on the picosecond timescale at room temperature, with MA+ and GUA+ also exhibiting faster and slower components, respectively. The cation dynamics depend on the symmetry of the inorganic lattice but are found to be insensitive to the degree of cation substitution. In particular, the FA+ rotation is invariant across all compositions studied here, when sufficiently above the phase transition temperature. We further identify an unusual relaxation mechanism for the 2H of MA+ in mechanosynthesized FAxMA1-xPbI3, which was found to result from physical diffusion to paramagnetic defects. This precise picture of cation dynamics will enable better understanding of the relationship between the organic cations and the optoelectronic properties of perovskites, guiding the design principles for more efficient perovskite solar cells in the future.

Abstract
Introduction Primary synovial osteochondromatosis (SOCM) or Synovial chondromatosis (SC) of the hip is a benign metaplastic condition of the synovium that is rare and may present with a spectrum of clinical features and radiological findings. Patients and methods A retrospective search using the keyword 'Synovial chondromatosis' (SC) of the hip was performed at a tertiary care orthopaedic referral centre in the UK and a hospital in India. The radiology images were collected from our Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Radiology Information System (RIS), over 15 years. The patient's data was collated with Electronic Patient Records (EPR), RIS, and correlated with histo-pathology laboratory records where available. The demographic details of the patients, their clinical symptoms, imaging details, and management outcomes were collected. Results We found 15 cases, with a mean age of 36.53 years (range: 14-50 years). There were 9 male and 6 female patients. The follow-up ranged from 1 year to 6 years. Predominantly unilateral presentation with insidious onset of symptoms was found. A spectrum of radiological Imaging was undertaken. Management strategies included supervised observation, arthroscopic or open synovectomy, and hip arthroplasty. No malignant transformation was found in the analysed cohort. Conclusion Primary 'Synovial chondromatosis' of the hip had a male preponderance in our cohort, presenting with a range of clinical features. Radiologically, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) was the commonest modality of cross-sectional imaging utilised and crucial for the diagnosis, evaluating underlying articular involvement including guiding appropriate patient management presenting with Primary 'Synovial chondromatosis' of the hip.

Abstract
Probing insights into understanding photosynthetic processes via non-invasive means has an added advantage when used in phenotyping or precision agriculture. We employed Raman spectroscopy and fluorescence-based methods to investigate both the changes in the photosynthetic processes and the underlying protective mechanisms on Arabidopsis thaliana wild-type (WT), and ros1, which is a mutant of a repressor of transcriptional gene silencing, both grown under low light (LL: 100 μmol m-2s-1) and high light (HL: 400 μmol m-2s-1) regimes. Raman imaging detected a lower carotenoid intensity after two weeks in those plants grown under HL, compared to those grown under the LL regime; we interpret this as the result of oxidative damage of β-carotene molecules. Further, the data revealed a significant depletion in carotenoids with enhanced phenolics around the midrib and tip of the WT leaves, but not in the ros1. On the contrary, small necrotic zones appeared after two weeks of HL in the ros1 mutant, pointing to the starting oxidative damage. The lower maximum quantum yield of the photochemistry (Fv/Fm) in the WT as well as in the ros1 mutant grown in HL (compared to those in the LL two weeks post-exposure), indicates the HL partially inactivated photosystems. Chlorophyll a fluorescence imaging further showed high non-photochemical quenching (NPQ) in the plants grown under the HL regime for both the WT and the ros1 mutant, but the spatial heterogeneity of NPQ images was much higher in the HL-grown ros1 mutant. Fluorescence screening methods revealed significantly high values of chlorophyll proxies in the WT as well as in the ros1 mutant two weeks after in the HL compared to those under LL. The data generally revealed an increased accumulation of phenolics under HL in both the WT and ros1 mutant plants, but the proxies of anthocyanin and flavonols were significantly lower in the ros1 mutant than in the WT. The comparatively low accumulation of anthocyanin in the ros1 mutant compared to the WT supports the Raman data. We conclude that integrated use of these techniques can be efficiently applied for a better understanding of insights into photosynthetic mechanisms.

Abstract
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO2) is a common therapeutic modality that drives oxygen into hypoxic tissue to promote healing. Here, ten patients undergoing HBO2 underwent PA oximetry of the left radial artery and forearm pre- and post-HBO2; this cohort validated the use of PA imaging in HBO2. There was a significant increase in radial artery oxygenation after HBO2 (p = 0.002) in the validation cohort. We also include a case study: a non-diabetic male in his 50s (HB 010) presenting with bilateral ischemic and gangrenous wounds. HB 010 showed higher perfusion and oxygen saturation on the right foot than the left after HBO2 which correlated with independent surgical observations. Imaging assisted with limb salvage treatment. Hence, this work shows that PA imaging can measure changes in arterial oxygen saturation due to HBO2; it can also produce 3D maps of tissue oxygenation and evaluate response to therapy during HBO2.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The study was done to evaluate the feasibility, safety and outcomes of a one-stop thyroid clinic (OSTC) in a low- and middle-income country (LMIC) setting. METHODS This was a prospective non-randomised case control study consisting of patients with thyroid nodules evaluated and managed at a tertiary referral centre in an LMIC between February 2019 and January 2020. Patients were divided into two groups based on the kind of preoperative evaluation protocol: OSTC group (n = 118) - OSTC protocol, and control group (CG, n = 108) - routine protocol. RESULTS Baseline clinical characteristics of the two groups including median age (p = 0.13) and gender distribution (p = 0.76) were comparable. The majority of patients in both groups belonged to a low-income group (46.6% vs 47.3%; p = 0.91), followed by a middle-income group (35.6% vs 30.5%; p = 0.41). The median number of outpatient department visits (1 vs 3 days; p = < 0.001), waiting time for neck ultrasonography (1 vs 3 days; p = < 0.0001), fine needle aspiration cytology (1 vs 2 days; p = < 0.0001), and out of pocket expenditure (INR 3 965 vs 6 624; p = < 0.001) was significantly less in the OSTC group compared to the CG. Patients in the OSTC group reported better satisfaction levels (p = < 0.0001). Accuracy of diagnosis did not differ between the two groups (p = 0.14). CONCLUSION OSTC practice is feasible, provides comparative clinical outcomes and seems cost effective in an LMIC. This protocol can be adopted as a routine practice in any health system.

Abstract
CsPbI3 is a promising material for optoelectronics owing to its thermal robustness and favorable bandgap. However, its fabrication is challenging because its photoactive phase is thermodynamically unstable at room temperature. Adding dimethylammonium (DMA) alleviates this instability and is currently understood to result in the formation of DMA x Cs1-x PbI3 perovskite solid solutions. Here, we use NMR of the 133Cs and 13C local structural probes to show that these solid solutions are not thermodynamically stable, and their synthesis under thermodynamic control leads to a segregated mixture of yellow one-dimensional DMAPbI3 phase and δ-CsPbI3. We show that mixed-cation DMA x Cs1-x PbI3 perovskite phases only form when they are kinetically trapped by rapid antisolvent-induced crystallization. We explore the energetics of DMA incorporation into CsPbI3 using first-principles calculations and molecular dynamics simulations and find that this process is energetically unfavorable. Our results provide a complete atomic-level picture of the mechanism of DMA-induced stabilization of the black perovskite phase of CsPbI3 and shed new light on this deceptively simple material.

Surface and bulk molecular modulators are the key to
improving
the efficiency and stability of hybrid perovskite solar cells. However,
due to their low concentration, heterogeneous environments, and low
sample mass, it remains challenging to characterize their structure
and dynamics at the atomic level, as required to establish structure–activity
relationships. Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy has revealed
a wealth of information on the atomic-level structure of hybrid perovskites,
but the inherent insensitivity of NMR severely limits its utility
to characterize thin-film samples. Dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP)
can enhance NMR sensitivity by orders of magnitude, but DNP methods
for perovskite materials have so far been limited. Here, we determined
the factors that limit the efficiency of DNP NMR for perovskite samples
by systematically studying layered hybrid perovskite analogues. We
find that the fast-relaxing dynamic cation is the major impediment
to higher DNP efficiency, while microwave absorption and particle
morphology play a secondary role. We then show that the former can
be mitigated by deuteration, enabling 1H DNP enhancement
factors of up to 100, which can be harnessed to enhance signals from
dopants or additives present in very low concentrations. Specifically,
using this new DNP methodology at a high magnetic field and with small
sample volumes, we have recorded the NMR spectrum of the 20 nm (6
μg) passivating layer on a single perovskite thin film, revealing
a two-dimensional (2D) layered perovskite structure at the surface
that resembles the n = 1 homologue but which has
greater disorder than in bulk layered perovskites.

Abstract
The 0D cesium lead halide perovskite Cs4 PbBr6 has drawn remarkable interest due to its highly efficient robust green emission compared to its 3D CsPbBr3 counterpart. However, seizing the advantages of the superior photoluminescence properties for practical light-emitting devices remains elusive. To date, Cs4 PbBr6 has been employed only as a higher-bandgap nonluminescent matrix to passivate or provide quantum/dielectric confinement to CsPbBr3 in light-emitting devices and to enhance its photo-/thermal/environmental stability. To resolve this disparity, a novel solvent engineering method to incorporate highly luminescent 0D Cs4 PbBr6 nanocrystals (perovskite nanocrystals (PNCs)) into a 3D CsPbBr3 film, forming the active emissive layer in single-layer perovskite light-emitting electrochemical cells (PeLECs) is designed. A dramatic increase of the maximum external quantum efficiency and luminance from 2.7% and 6050 cd m-2 for a 3D-only PeLEC to 8.3% and 11 200 cd m-2 for a 3D-0D PNC device with only 7% by weight of 0D PNCs is observed. The majority of this increase is driven by the efficient inherent emission of the 0D PNCs, while the concomitant morphology improvement also contributes to reduced leakage current, reduced hysteresis, and enhanced operational lifetime (half-life of 129 h), making this one of the best-performing LECs reported to date.

Abstract
Enteric viruses like norovirus, rotavirus and astrovirus have long been accepted as spreading in the population through fecal-oral transmission: viruses are shed into feces from one host and enter the oral cavity of another, bypassing salivary glands (SGs) and reaching the intestines to replicate, be shed in feces and repeat the transmission cycle1. Yet there are viruses (for example, rabies) that infect the SGs2,3, making the oral cavity one site of replication and saliva one conduit of transmission. Here we report that enteric viruses productively and persistently infect SGs, reaching titres comparable to those in the intestines. We demonstrate that enteric viruses get released into the saliva, identifying a second route of viral transmission. This is particularly significant for infected infants, whose saliva directly transmits enteric viruses to their mothers' mammary glands through backflow during suckling. This sidesteps the conventional gut-mammary axis route4 and leads to a rapid surge in maternal milk secretory IgA antibodies5,6. Lastly, we show that SG-derived spheroids7 and cell lines8 can replicate and propagate enteric viruses, generating a scalable and manageable system of production. Collectively, our research uncovers a new transmission route for enteric viruses with implications for therapeutics, diagnostics and importantly sanitation measures to prevent spread through saliva.

Abstract
Remote sensing observations from satellites and global biogeochemical models have combined to revolutionize the study of ocean biogeochemical cycling, but comparing the two data streams to each other and across time remains challenging due to the strong spatial-temporal structuring of the ocean. Here, we show that the Wasserstein distance provides a powerful metric for harnessing these structured datasets for better marine ecosystem and climate predictions. The Wasserstein distance complements commonly used point-wise difference methods such as the root-mean-squared error, by quantifying differences in terms of spatial displacement in addition to magnitude. As a test case, we consider chlorophyll (a key indicator of phytoplankton biomass) in the northeast Pacific Ocean, obtained from model simulations, in situ measurements, and satellite observations. We focus on two main applications: (i) comparing model predictions with satellite observations, and (ii) temporal evolution of chlorophyll both seasonally and over longer time frames. The Wasserstein distance successfully isolates temporal and depth variability and quantifies shifts in biogeochemical province boundaries. It also exposes relevant temporal trends in satellite chlorophyll consistent with climate change predictions. Our study shows that optimal transport vectors underlying the Wasserstein distance provide a novel visualization tool for testing models and better understanding temporal dynamics in the ocean.

Abstract
SIGNIFICANCE Photoacoustic imaging has shown advantages over the periodontal probing method in measuring the periodontal probing depth, but the large size of conventional photoacoustic transducers prevents imaging of the more posterior teeth. AIM Our aim is to develop a photoacoustic imaging system to image the more posterior periodontal pocket. APPROACH We report a clinical "hockey-stick"-style transducer integrated with fibers for periodontal photoacoustic imaging. Cuttlefish ink labeled the periodontal pocket as the photoacoustic contrast agent. RESULTS We characterized the imaging system and then measured the pocket depth of 35 swine teeth. Three raters evaluated the performance of the hockey-stick transducer. The measurements between the Williams probing (gold standard) and the photoacoustic methods were blinded but highly correlated. We showed a bias of ∼0.3 mm for the imaging-based technique versus Williams probing. The minimum inter-reliability was over 0.60 for three different raters of varying experience, suggesting that this approach to measure the periodontal pocket is reproducible. Finally, we imaged three pre-molars of a human subject. We could access more upper and posterior teeth than conventional linear transducers. CONCLUSIONS The unique angle shape of the hockey-stick transducer allows it to image more posterior teeth than regular linear transducers. This study demonstrated the ability of a hockey-stick transducer to measure the periodontal pocket via photoacoustic imaging.

Abstract
Dion-Jacobson (DJ) iodoplumbates based on 1,4-phenylenedimethanammonium (PDMA) have recently emerged as promising light absorbers for perovskite solar cells. While PDMA is one of the simplest aromatic spacers potentially capable of forming a DJ structure based on (PDMA)An-1 Pbn I3n+1 composition, the crystallographic proof has not been reported so far. Single crystal structure of a DJ phase based on PDMA is presented and high-field solid-state NMR spectroscopy is used to characterize the structure of PDMA-based iodoplumbates prepared as thin films and bulk microcrystalline powders. It is shown that their atomic-level structure does not depend on the method of synthesis and that it is ordered and similar for all iodoplumbate homologues. Moreover, the presence of lower (n) homologues in thin films is identified through UV-Vis spectroscopy, photoluminescence spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction measurements, complemented by cathodoluminescence mapping. A closer look using cathodoluminescence shows that the micron-scale microstructure corresponds to a mixture of different layered homologues that are well distributed throughout the film and the presence of layer edge states which dominate the emission. This work therefore determines the formation of DJ phases based on PDMA as the spacer cation and reveals their properties on a multi-length scale, which is relevant for their application in optoelectronics.
