Abstract
The search for mechanism-based anti-inflammatory therapies is of fundamental importance to avoid undesired off-target effects. Phospholipase A2 (PLA2) activity is a potential molecular target for anti-inflammatory drugs because it fuels arachidonic acid needed to synthesize inflammation mediators, such as prostaglandins. Herein, we aim to investigate the molecular mechanism by which β-keto amyrin isolated from a methanolic extract of Cryptostegia grandiflora R. Br. Leaves can inhibit inflammation caused by Daboia russellii viper (DR) venom that mainly contains PLA2. We found that β-keto amyrin neutralizes DR venom-induced paw-edema in a mouse model. Molecular docking of PLA2 with β-keto amyrin complex resulted in a higher binding energy score of -8.86 kcal/mol and an inhibition constant of 611.7 nM. Diclofenac had a binding energy of -7.04 kcal/mol and an IC50 value of 620 nM, which predicts a poorer binding interaction than β-keto amyrin. The higher conformational stability of β-keto amyrin interaction compared to diclofenac is confirmed by molecular dynamics simulation. β-keto amyrin isolated from C. grandiflora inhibits the PLA2 activity contained in Daboia russellii viper venom. The anti-inflammatory property of β-keto amyrin is due to its direct binding into the active site of PLA2, thus inhibiting its enzyme activity.

Abstract
Global warming has become a much more realised issue and an immediate threat, accelerating due to the anthropogenic carbon release associated with escalating energy demand. Consequently, pressures are building up to reduce anthropogenic carbon footprint by employing renewable energy resources, among which solar energy is the main. Solar roads are a new and innovative concept as they do not require land to be specifically allocated. This is because the road infrastructure already exists. Therefore, this emerging technique of embedding solar panels into pavements and roadways is becoming a more attractive proposition. However, a hurdle to its successful application is the lack of knowledge regarding its feasibility and viability. This study aims to evaluate the potential of solar roads to inform future feasibility and viability studies in varying contexts and implications. Within the scope of this study, the case of Great Britain is considered to evaluate the potential of how much energy can be generated via the solar roads technology that can be embedded in the country's road infrastructure. A mathematical exercise is performed in which calculations are executed to develop a basic numerical model of the potential. Therefore, the study is quantitative, and the factors considered include seasonal changes, average daily traffic covering roads, tree and building shades, road types and sizes, solar irradiance, solar panel types, and alike. It is estimated that solar roads may supply up to 96.42% of the UK's total electricity, which is a substantially promising potential.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) We sought to establish a method by which to overcome the toxicity of WAI to facilitate clinical application in Ovarian Cancer patients. MATERIALS/METHODS We irradiated C57BL/6J mice to 19.75 Gy WAI and assessed the primary endpoint of overall survival (OS). In a separate experiment, mice were irradiated to 12 Gy WAI and intestinal barrier integrity was compared between groups: control (0 Gy), irradiation only, 12 Gy + LR, 12 Gy + IFN-β, and 12 Gy + LR-IFN-β. Luminex assay of plasma and intestinal cells were also assayed at day 5 after WAI for radiation-induced inflammatory cytokines, and fecal matter was analyzed for LR-IFN-β clearance and levels of the LR-derived IFN-β gene from day 1 to 5 in control non-irradiated mice. Moreover, fluorescent beads were intraorally administered three hours prior to sacrifice at days 2 or 5 after WAI, and blood was assayed for beads. RESULTS Mice receiving LR-IFN-β (109 bacteria in 100 mL of saline) 24-hours following a single fraction of 19.75 Gy WAI showed improved OS compared to control irradiated mice (p = 0.03). LR-IFN-β gavage maintained intestinal barrier integrity (p < 0.05) by stimulating intestinal stem cells regenerations (improved levels of Lgr5+ cells, occludin, and I-CAM; p < 0.05), and reduced levels of intestinal pro-inflammatory cytokines, including IFN-γ (p = 0.0261), IL-3 (p < 0.0020) and IL-17 (p < 0.0070). There was no significant effect of control LR or intraperitoneal injection of IFN-β protein at 24 hours after WAI. Detectable levels of LR-IFN-β bacteria were also cleared from fecal matter by day three via colony assay and rt-PCR, with no detectable growth of LR-IFN-β in blood from gavaged irradiated mice (13.5 Gy WAI). CONCLUSION LR-IFN-β is both a feasible and effective radiation mitigator that could potentially improve the management of ovarian cancer patients. Furthermore, the subsequent addition of platinum/taxane-based chemotherapy to the combination of WAI and LR-IFN-β should reduce tumor volume while protecting the intestine and thus improve overall survival in ovarian cancer patients.

Abstract
The true coincidence summing correction factor for a Broad Energy Germanium detector has been calculated at far and close geometry set-up using radioactive γ-ray sources. The correction factors were calculated using both experimental and analytical methods. Geant4 simulation was done to calculate the full-energy peak and total efficiencies of the detector. Standard, as well as fabricated mono-energetic γ-ray sources, were used for the γ-ray efficiency measurements. The simulated efficiencies of mono-energetic γ-ray sources were matched to the experimental γ-ray efficiencies by optimizing the detector parameters. The same parameters were used to obtain the full-energy peak and total efficiencies for γ-rays of current interest. Analytical and experimental correction factors were found to agree well with each other. The coincidence summing effect is found to be significant for source-to-detector distances less than 5 cm.

Abstract
Neutrophils are key first responders to Clostridioides difficile infection (CDI). Excessive tissue and blood neutrophils are associated with worse histopathology and adverse outcomes, however their functional role during CDI remains poorly defined. Utilizing intestinal epithelial cell (IEC)-neutrophil co-cultures and a pre-clinical animal model of CDI, we show that neutrophils exacerbate C. difficile -induced IEC injury. We utilized cutting-edge single-cell transcriptomics to illuminate neutrophil subtypes and biological pathways that could exacerbate CDI-associated IEC damage. As such, we have established the first transcriptomics atlas of bone marrow (BM), blood, and colonic neutrophils after CDI. We found that CDI altered the developmental trajectory of BM and blood neutrophils towards populations that exhibit gene signatures associated with pro-inflammatory responses and neutrophil-mediated tissue damage. Similarly, the transcriptomic signature of colonic neutrophils was consistent with hyper-inflammatory and highly differentiated cells that had amplified expression of cytokine-mediated signaling and degranulation priming genes. One of the top 10 variable features in colonic neutrophils was the gene for neutrophil glycoprotein, Olfactomedin 4 (OLFM4). CDI enhanced OLFM4 mRNA and protein expression in neutrophils, and OLFM4 + cells aggregated to areas of severe IEC damage. Compared to uninfected controls, both humans and mice with CDI had higher concentrations of circulating OLFM4; and in mice, OLFM4 deficiency resulted in faster recovery and better survival after infection. Collectively, these studies provide novel insights into neutrophil-mediated pathology after CDI and highlight the pathogenic role of OLFM4 + neutrophils in regulating CDI-induced IEC damage. One Sentence Summary Utilizing single-cell transcriptomics, IEC-epithelial co-cultures, and pre-clinical models of CDI, we have identified a subset of neutrophils that are marked by OLFM4 expression as pathogenic determinants of IEC barrier damage after CDI.

Abstract
Approximately 90 % of individuals undergoing treatment for opioid use disorder (OUD) report comorbid use of nicotine. As such, further investigation into underlying mechanisms contributing to the extreme comorbidity between nicotine and opioid use are warranted. Nicotine administration significantly escalates self-administration of opioids and this increase in motivational efficacy persists despite contingent punishment of opioid consumption. Additionally, both systemic and intra-insular administration of nicotine produces a rightward shift in the dose-response function in both morphine-induced conditioned place preference and taste avoidance paradigms, particularly at higher doses (5-20 mg/kg). Two possible interpretations arise from these outcomes. One is that nicotine may specifically affect learning about the malaise-inducing effects of morphine thus facilitating acceptance of higher doses of morphine. Another interpretation is that it more generally reduces sensitivity to the interoceptive effects of morphine such that higher doses are needed to produce comparable effects in nicotine-treated, relative to control, rats. To further address these possibilities, we asked whether nicotine administration interfered with the ability to discriminate the morphine interoceptive state, irrespective of its hedonic evaluation, at a dose that is impacted by nicotine in avoidance conditioning paradigms. First, we demonstrated that systemic nicotine pretreatment significantly attenuates taste avoidance induced by a low dose of morphine (3 mg/kg). Next, we used an occasion setting paradigm with this same dose of morphine to test whether systemic nicotine pretreatment interferes with the ability to discriminate between saline- and morphine-induced interoceptive states. Within this task, nicotine had no effect on the ability to effectively discriminate between the interoceptive effects of morphine and saline. Collectively, these data suggest that nicotine may be specifically altering the overall hedonic assessment of morphine perhaps by interfering with learning about its deleterious consequences.

Abstract
We report on measurements of sequential ϒ suppression in Au+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV with the STAR detector at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) through both the dielectron and dimuon decay channels. In the 0%-60% centrality class, the nuclear modification factors (R_{AA}), which quantify the level of yield suppression in heavy-ion collisions compared to p+p collisions, for ϒ(1S) and ϒ(2S) are 0.40±0.03(stat)±0.03(sys)±0.09(norm) and 0.26±0.08(stat)±0.02(sys)±0.06(norm), respectively, while the upper limit of the ϒ(3S) R_{AA} is 0.17 at a 95% confidence level. This provides experimental evidence that the ϒ(3S) is significantly more suppressed than the ϒ(1S) at RHIC. The level of suppression for ϒ(1S) is comparable to that observed at the much higher collision energy at the Large Hadron Collider. These results point to the creation of a medium at RHIC whose temperature is sufficiently high to strongly suppress excited ϒ states.

Abstract
We report the beam energy and collision centrality dependence of fifth and sixth order cumulants (C_{5}, C_{6}) and factorial cumulants (κ_{5}, κ_{6}) of net-proton and proton number distributions, from center-of-mass energy (sqrt[s_{NN}]) 3 GeV to 200 GeV Au+Au collisions at RHIC. Cumulant ratios of net-proton (taken as proxy for net-baryon) distributions generally follow the hierarchy expected from QCD thermodynamics, except for the case of collisions at 3 GeV. The measured values of C_{6}/C_{2} for 0%-40% centrality collisions show progressively negative trend with decreasing energy, while it is positive for the lowest energy studied. These observed negative signs are consistent with QCD calculations (for baryon chemical potential, μ_{B}≤110 MeV) which contains the crossover transition range. In addition, for energies above 7.7 GeV, the measured proton κ_{n}, within uncertainties, does not support the two-component (Poisson+binomial) shape of proton number distributions that would be expected from a first-order phase transition. Taken in combination, the hyperorder proton number fluctuations suggest that the structure of QCD matter at high baryon density, μ_{B}∼750 MeV at sqrt[s_{NN}]=3 GeV is starkly different from those at vanishing μ_{B}∼24 MeV at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV and higher collision energies.

Background
Asian Indians are affected at least a decade earlier with cardiovascular diseases (CVD), in their most productive midlife years as compared to people of European ancestry. This is the first study from Indian sub-continent assessing the impact of novel risk factors of atherosclerosis on angiographic severity of coronary artery disease (CAD) in terms of SYNTAX scores in young patients (<40 years) suffering myocardial infarction (MI).
Purpose
This study was undertaken to evaluate the association of novel risk factors of atherosclerosis with severity of CAD at the index hospitalization in young MI patients.
Methods
In this single center observational study, 75 consecutive young MI patients were included. Patients having previous CVD, chronic kidney disease, chronic Liver disease and any bleeding diathesis were excluded. Homocysteine, highly sensitive C- reactive protein (hs-CRP) and lipoprotein- a (Lp-a) were measured and correlated with SYNTAX I and SYNTAX II.
Results
Smoking (85.5%) was the most common traditional risk factor for MI while other traditional risk factors did not have significant effect on severity of CAD in young patients with MI. The mean homocysteine level was 24.43± 10.02 micromole/L, hs-CRP 8.2± 1.44 mg/L and Lp(a) 59± 23.10 mg/dL. The sensitivity and specificity of hs-CRP ³8.5 mg/L for prediction of multivessel disease was 67% and 70% respectively while that of Lp(a) ³ 66.5 mg/dL was 71% and 67% respectively. On further analysis, the sensitivity and specificity of hs-CRP value ³8.5 mg/L for prediction of SYNTAX I score > 22 was 75% and 65% respectively while that of Lp(a) ³ 66.5 mg/dL was 75% and 60% respectively. On multivariate linear regression, hs-CRP was the significant predictor of SYNTAX I score (p=0.03) when adjusted for homocysteine and Lp (a).
Conclusions
hs-CRP and Lp(a) levels are significantly associated with the severity of CAD in young MI patients. hs-CRP and Lp(a) should be evaluated along with routine risk factors of atherosclerosis in young patients at risk of CAD for early detection, timely management and prevention of major cardiac events.

Abstract
Emphysematous cystitis (EC) is a rare severe urinary tract infection characterised by pockets of air in and around the urinary bladder wall caused by gas-forming organisms. Common predisposing factors are chronic infection, immunosuppression, diabetes and neurogenic bladder. The presentation may vary from mild illness to severe life-threatening cystitis. We report two cases of incidental detection of EC diagnosed on imaging for the evaluation of unrelated symptoms. Although asymptomatic, this lethal disease still warrants prompt recognition and treatment with broad-spectrum antibiotics and urinary bladder drainage to prevent severe morbidity and mortality.

Abstract
Elliptic flow measurements from two-, four-, and six-particle correlations are used to investigate flow fluctuations in collisions of U+U at sqrt[s_{NN}]=193 GeV, Cu+Au at sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV and Au+Au spanning the range sqrt[s_{NN}]=11.5-200 GeV. The measurements show a strong dependence of the flow fluctuations on collision centrality, a modest dependence on system size, and very little if any, dependence on particle species and beam energy. The results, when compared to similar LHC measurements, viscous hydrodynamic calculations, and trento model eccentricities, indicate that initial-state-driven fluctuations predominate the flow fluctuations generated in the collisions studied.

Detection of distinct epigenetic biomarkers in circulating cell-free DNA (cfDNA) of liquid biopsy (LB) specimens (e.g. blood) fosters opportunity for prognostication of central nervous system (CNS) tumors and has not been thoroughly explored in patients with meningiomas.
Material and Methods
We profiled the cfDNA methylome (EPIC array) in serum specimens from patients with meningiomas (MNG; n= 63) and harnessed internal and external meningioma tissue methylome data with reported follow up (n=48). To predict recurrence risk (RR), we consolidated a tissue cohort with at least 5 years of follow up and divided them into confirmed recurrence (CR; either reported progressive disease in post-surgical imaging, or additional resections following initial surgery) and confirmed no-recurrence (CNR: no confirmed disease progression w/in at least 5-years of follow-up). Then through application of an iterative process consisting of multiple tissue- and serum-based supervised analyses, we identified risk-specific methylation markers with serum specific features which, when inputted into a random forest algorithm allowed for segregation of both tumor tissue and liquid biopsy specimens according to recurrence risk. We estimated immune cell composition using MethylCIBERSORT, where a reference methylome atlas of chosen immune cell types was utilized to deconvolute the MNG samples.
Results
The resulting recurrence risk classifier demonstrated an appreciable predictive power in classifying samples as high or low recurrence risk across the tumor tissue cohort (ACC: 87.5%, CUI+: 85.2%). When compared to another classifier, our model demonstrated statistically significant agreement across primary meningioma samples (κ=0.269, p=0.002), and more accurately predicted samples to recur across an expanded time window (time to recurrence >5yrs). Across resulting liquid biopsy classifications, recurrence risk subgroups were analogous with reported risk factors, including WHO grade, extent of resection, and tumor location. Recurrence risk subgroups (high and low) also demonstrated differential estimated immune cell contributions, with low-risk samples exhibiting a “hot” profile, or enrichment of B-Cells, CD56- and CD4 T-Cells, and natural killer cells. Notably, the estimated neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio, previously purported to be relevant to tumor prognosis, was appreciably higher for those meningioma samples with the highest recurrence risk.
Conclusion
DNA methylation markers identified in the serum are suitable for the development of machine learning-based models which present high predictive power to prognosticate patients with meningioma and estimate a differential immune profile across recurrence risk groups. After validation in an external cohort, this noninvasive approach may improve the presurgical therapeutic management of patients with meningiomas.

Background
Systemic (Sys) and tumor microenvironment (TME) immune milieus play a pivotal role in tumor development, outcome and immunotherapy response predictions across a variety of central nervous system tumors. Genome-wide methylation profiling can reliably discriminate and estimate immune cell proportions present in the blood and within the tumor and has not been reported across sellar tumor types (STT).
Material and Methods
We estimated cell composition in liquid biopsy (LB, serum/plasma) and tissue specimens from 42 STT collections (i.e., pituitary neuroendocrine tumors [PitNETs; n=37] and craniopharyngiomas [CP; n=5]), and 26 nontumor controls (LB: 11; Tissue: 15) using MethylCIBERSORT, a methylation-based deconvolution algorithm and established immune cell signatures as reference. LB methylation was profiled with EPIC array. Correlations between estimated cell proportions across sample sources were explored (Spearman). Immune cell proportion hierarchical k-means clustering was performed across tissue and LB specimens. Similarly, mean comparisons between and across sample types and subgroups of interest were performed [Non-parametric Kruskal-Wallis, Wilcoxon rank-sum tests; p<0.05].
Results
We identified three immune-clusters across tissue specimens which distinguished controls (k3-cluster) from sellar tumor specimens (k1- and k2- clusters), primarily attributable to differential B-cell and monocyte proportions. Interestingly, a subset of PitNET and CP, belonging to the k2-cluster, presented a distinct immune profile compared to their K1-sellar tumor counterparts. Analysis of plasma-derived immune clusters revealed that PitNETs were distributed across four distinct immune patterns and CP clustered together with controls and a PitNET subset. One of the PitNET clusters was enriched with patients that died during follow-up and presented an enrichment of CD4-(including the regulatory subtype), CD8 and CD56-T and depletion of natural killer cells. Differences across serum- and tissue-derived clusters were present but less prominent than their plasma counterparts. No correlation between immune cell proportions across other clinicopathological features within each tumor type (sex, age, histotypes, invasion etc) was observed.
Conclusion
Our results suggest that PitNETs are characterized by differential TME and systemic immune subtypes which also distinguish these tumors from CP and controls. Additionally, distinct systemic immune composition between tissue and LB sources, more readily observed in plasma, suggest that the systemic response to the presence of the tumor is distinct from the immune response noted in the TME. Tumor immune subtyping may allow the stratification of STT according to immunotherapy response vulnerabilities.

Abstract
The STAR Collaboration reports measurements of back-to-back azimuthal correlations of di-π^{0}s produced at forward pseudorapidities (2.6<η<4.0) in p+p, p+Al, and p+Au collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 200 GeV. We observe a clear suppression of the correlated yields of back-to-back π^{0} pairs in p+Al and p+Au collisions compared to the p+p data. The observed suppression of back-to-back pairs as a function of transverse momentum suggests nonlinear gluon dynamics arising at high parton densities. The larger suppression found in p+Au relative to p+Al collisions exhibits a dependence of the saturation scale Q_{s}^{2} on the mass number A. A linear scaling of the suppression with A^{1/3} is observed with a slope of -0.09±0.01.

Abstract
In the early days of the first global wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, the potential for a postviral syndrome to manifest following COVID-19 infection was first recognized. Here, we present an analysis of a case series of the first 20 patients' data collected in clinical practice to evaluate the potential of a possible alternative treatment for Long COVID. Methods Face-to-face treatment sessions with Perrin technique practitioners occurred weekly involving effleurage/other manual articulatory techniques. The individuals being treated also undertook daily self-massage along with gentle mobility exercises. Patients recorded symptom severity using the self-report 54-item profile of fatigue-related states (PFRS) before and after treatment. Results The mean age of male patients was 41.8 years (range, 29-53 years), and for female patients, 39.3 years (range, 28-50 years). None of the participants had a prior diagnosis of chronic fatigue syndrome, and all were new attendees to the clinics at the time of initial assessment. The average number of treatment sessions was 9.7 in men and 9.4 in women. The reduction in PFRS scores was 45% in men and 52% in women. The highest subscale scores on average were for fatigue, with the lowest for somatic symptoms. All subscale scores showed, on average, a similar reduction of approximately 50% postintervention, with the reduction in score relating to a decrease in the severity of symptoms. Conclusion Our findings suggest that a specific manual lymphatic drainage intervention may help to reduce fatigue symptoms related to Long COVID. Perhaps preventing acute symptoms through early intervention.

Abstract
We report cumulants of the proton multiplicity distribution from dedicated fixed-target Au+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=3.0 GeV, measured by the STAR experiment in the kinematic acceptance of rapidity (y) and transverse momentum (p_{T}) within -0.5<y<0 and 0.4<p_{T}<2.0 GeV/c. In the most central 0%-5% collisions, a proton cumulant ratio is measured to be C_{4}/C_{2}=-0.85±0.09 (stat)±0.82 (syst), which is 2σ below the Poisson baseline with respect to both the statistical and systematic uncertainties. The hadronic transport UrQMD model reproduces our C_{4}/C_{2} in the measured acceptance. Compared to higher energy results and the transport model calculations, the suppression in C_{4}/C_{2} is consistent with fluctuations driven by baryon number conservation and indicates an energy regime dominated by hadronic interactions. These data imply that the QCD critical region, if created in heavy-ion collisions, could only exist at energies higher than 3 GeV.

Abstract
We report precision measurements of hypernuclei _{Λ}^{3}H and _{Λ}^{4}H lifetimes obtained from Au+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=3.0 GeV and 7.2 GeV collected by the STAR experiment at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider, and the first measurement of _{Λ}^{3}H and _{Λ}^{4}H midrapidity yields in Au+Au collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=3.0 GeV. _{Λ}^{3}H and _{Λ}^{4}H, being the two simplest bound states composed of hyperons and nucleons, are cornerstones in the field of hypernuclear physics. Their lifetimes are measured to be 221±15(stat)±19(syst) ps for _{Λ}^{3}H and 218±6(stat)±13(syst) ps for _{Λ}^{4}H. The p_{T}-integrated yields of _{Λ}^{3}H and _{Λ}^{4}H are presented in different centrality and rapidity intervals. It is observed that the shape of the rapidity distribution of _{Λ}^{4}H is different for 0%-10% and 10%-50% centrality collisions. Thermal model calculations, using the canonical ensemble for strangeness, describes the _{Λ}^{3}H yield well, while underestimating the _{Λ}^{4}H yield. Transport models, combining baryonic mean-field and coalescence (jam) or utilizing dynamical cluster formation via baryonic interactions (phqmd) for light nuclei and hypernuclei production, approximately describe the measured _{Λ}^{3}H and _{Λ}^{4}H yields. Our measurements provide means to precisely assess our understanding of the fundamental baryonic interactions with strange quarks, which can impact our understanding of more complicated systems involving hyperons, such as the interior of neutron stars or exotic hypernuclei.

Abstract
The mass of the W boson, a mediator of the weak force between elementary particles, is tightly constrained by the symmetries of the standard model of particle physics. The Higgs boson was the last missing component of the model. After observation of the Higgs boson, a measurement of the W boson mass provides a stringent test of the model. We measure the W boson mass, MW, using data corresponding to 8.8 inverse femtobarns of integrated luminosity collected in proton-antiproton collisions at a 1.96 tera-electron volt center-of-mass energy with the CDF II detector at the Fermilab Tevatron collider. A sample of approximately 4 million W boson candidates is used to obtain [Formula: see text], the precision of which exceeds that of all previous measurements combined (stat, statistical uncertainty; syst, systematic uncertainty; MeV, mega-electron volts; c, speed of light in a vacuum). This measurement is in significant tension with the standard model expectation.

Abstract
Aim The objective was to assess the correlation of fasting plasma glucose (FPG), HbA1c, and the duration of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) with SYNTAX score (SS) II in patients with non-ST elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI).Material and methods FPG and HbA1C were measured in 398 patients presenting with NSTEMI at admission. SS II was calculated using an online calculator. Patients were stratified according to SS II (≤21.5, 21.5-30.6, and ≥30.6), defined as SS II low, mid, and high, respectively.Results 37.7 % of subjects were diabetic. Correlations of FPG (R=0.402, R2=0.162, p<0.001) and HbA1c (R=0.359, R2=0.129, p<0.001) with SS II were weak in the overall population. Duration of T2DM showed very strong correlation with SS II (R=0.827, R2=0.347). For the prediction of high SS II in the study population, FPG≥98.5 mg / dl demonstrated a sensitivity of 58 % and a specificity of 60 %, and HbA1c ≥6.05 demonstrated a sensitivity of 63 % and a specificity of 69 %. Duration of T2DM (adjusted odds ratio (OR): 1.182; 95 % confidence interval (CI): 1.185-2.773) and FPG (OR: 0.987; 95 % CI: 0.976-0.9959) were significantly associated with high SS II after controlling for other risk factors. Duration of T2DM (Beta=0.439) contributed strongly to variance of SS II, whereas HbA1c (Beta=0.063) contributed weakly.Conclusion Duration of T2DM is a very important risk factor for severity of coronary artery disease.

Abstract
Understanding gluon density distributions and how they are modified in nuclei are among the most important goals in nuclear physics. In recent years, diffractive vector meson production measured in ultraperipheral collisions (UPCs) at heavy-ion colliders has provided a new tool for probing the gluon density. In this Letter, we report the first measurement of J/ψ photoproduction off the deuteron in UPCs at the center-of-mass energy sqrt[s_{NN}]=200 GeV in d+Au collisions. The differential cross section as a function of momentum transfer -t is measured. In addition, data with a neutron tagged in the deuteron-going zero-degree calorimeter is investigated for the first time, which is found to be consistent with the expectation of incoherent diffractive scattering at low momentum transfer. Theoretical predictions based on the color glass condensate saturation model and the leading twist approximation nuclear shadowing model are compared with the data quantitatively. A better agreement with the saturation model has been observed. With the current measurement, the results are found to be directly sensitive to the gluon density distribution of the deuteron and the deuteron breakup process, which provides insights into the nuclear gluonic structure.

Abstract
Source apportionment study of PM2.5 using positive matrix factorization was performed to identify the emission characteristic from different sectors (sub-urban residential, industrial and rapidly urbanizing) of Delhi during winter. Chemical characterization of PM2.5 included metals (Ca, Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, K, Mg, Mn, Na, Ni, Pb and Zn), water soluble ionic compounds (WSICs) (Cl-, NO3-, SO42- and NH4+) and Carbon partitions (OC, EC). Particulates (PM2.5) were collected on filter twice daily for stable and unstable atmospheric conditions, at the locations with specific characteristics, viz. Ayanagar, Noida and Okhla. Ions solely occupied 50% of the total PM2.5 concentration. Irrespective of location, high correlation between OC and EC (0.871-0.891) at p ≤ 0.1 is observed. Relatively lower ratio of NO3/SO4 at Ayanagar (0.696) and Okhla (0.84) denotes predominance of emission from stationary sources rather than mobile sources like that observed at Noida (1.038). Using EPA PMF5.0, optimum factors for each location are fixed based on error estimation (EE). Crustal dust, vehicular emission, biomass burning and secondary aerosol are the major contributing sources in all the three locations. Incineration contributes about 19% at Ayanagar and 18% at Okhla. Metal industries in Okhla contribute about 19% to PM2.5. These specific local emissions with considerable potency are to be targeted for long-term policymaking. Considerable secondary aerosol contribution (15%-24%) indicates that gaseous emissions also need to be reduced to improve air quality.

Abstract
In this Letter, we illustrate how polarized neutron scattering can be used to isolate the spin-spin correlations of modes forming flat bands in a frustrated magnetic system hosting a classical spin liquid phase. In particular, we explain why the nearest-neighbor spin ice model, whose interaction matrix has two flat bands, produces a dispersionless (i.e., "flat") response in the non-spin-flip (NSF) polarized neutron scattering channel and demonstrate that NSF scattering is a highly sensitive probe of correlations induced by weak perturbations that lift the flat band degeneracy. We use this to explain the experimentally measured dispersive (i.e., nonflat) NSF channel of the dipolar spin ice compound Ho_{2}Ti_{2}O_{7}.

Abstract
The chiral magnetic effect (CME) refers to charge separation along a strong magnetic field due to imbalanced chirality of quarks in local parity and charge-parity violating domains in quantum chromodynamics. The experimental measurement of the charge separation is made difficult by the presence of a major background from elliptic azimuthal anisotropy. This background and the CME signal have different sensitivities to the spectator and participant planes, and could thus be determined by measurements with respect to these planes. We report such measurements in Au+Au collisions at a nucleon-nucleon center-of-mass energy of 200 GeV at the Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider. It is found that the charge separation, with the flow background removed, is consistent with zero in peripheral (large impact parameter) collisions. Some indication of finite CME signals is seen in midcentral (intermediate impact parameter) collisions. Significant residual background effects may, however, still be present.

Abstract
Background Introduction: Bowel preparation inadequacy has been shown to increase post-colonoscopy colorectal cancer. As such, the USMSTF recommends repeating colonoscopy within 1 year if bowel preparation is inadequate. However, bowel preparation documentation is variable in clinical practice, and physician recommendations adherent to USMTF guidelines are inconsistent. Aims Aims: We present an automated computer assisted method using deep convolutional neural networks to detect bowel preparation and adequacy of bowel preparation with the Boston Bowel Preparation Scale (BBPS). Methods Methods: We extracted 38523 images of colonic lumen between 2015 and 2017 from screening colonoscopies. Bowel preparation scores were assessed with BBPS. Adequate bowel preparation was defined as BBPS ≥2, and inadequate bowel preparation was defined as BBPS <2. The dataset was split into 26966 images for training, 7704 for validation, and 3853 for testing. Training data was sampled with replacement from a multinomial distribution to balance subclass distributions in each batch. We developed 2 convoluted neural networks (CNN) using PyTorch with a Densenet-169 backbone pre-trained on ImageNet and fine-tuned on our data for classifying adequacy of bowel preparation (binary) and for subclassification of BBPS (multi-class). We used Adam optimiser with an initial learning rate of 3x10-4 and a scheduler to decay the learning rate of each parameter group by 0.1 every 7 epochs along with focal loss as our criterion for both classifiers. Results Results: The overall accuracy on the test data set for BBPS subclassification was 0.91. The sensitivity for BBPS 0, 1, 2 and 3 were 0.84, 0.91, 0.86, and 0.96, respectively. The specificity for BBPS 0, 1, 2, and 3 were 1.00, 0.98, 0.95, and 0.93, respectively. The overall accuracy of the test data set for adequacy of bowel preparation was 0.97. The sensitivity for adequacy of bowel preparation for BBPS <2 and BBPS ≥2 was 0.92 and 0.99, respectively. The specificity for adequacy of bowel preparation for BBPS <2 and BBPS ≥2 was 0.99 and 0.92, respectively. Conclusions Conclusion: We present an automated computer-assisted detection method of bowel preparation with deep convolutional neural networks. The algorithm is capable of accurate classification of adequacy of bowel preparation (97%) and subclassification of bowel preparation (91%) with high sensitivity and specificity. This algorithm can be applied to automate documentation of bowel preparation and adequacy of bowel preparation. Abstract
Wastewater surveillance has been widely used as a supplemental method to track the community infection levels of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2. A gap exists in standardized reporting for fecal indicator concentrations, which can be used to calibrate the primary outcome concentrations from wastewater monitoring for use in epidemiological models. To address this, measurements of fecal indicator concentration among wastewater samples collected from sewers and treatment centers in four counties of Kentucky (N = 650) were examined. Results from the untransformed wastewater data over 4 months of sampling indicated that the fecal indicator concentration of human ribonuclease P (RNase P) ranged from 5.1 × 101 to 1.15 × 106 copies/ml, pepper mild mottle virus (PMMoV) ranged from 7.23 × 103 to 3.53 × 107 copies/ml, and cross-assembly phage (CrAssphage) ranged from 9.69 × 103 to 1.85 × 108 copies/ml. The results showed both regional and temporal variability. If fecal indicators are used as normalization factors, knowing the daily sewer system flow of the sample location may matter more than rainfall. RNase P, while it may be suitable as an internal amplification and sample adequacy control, has less utility than PMMoV and CrAssphage as a fecal indicator in wastewater samples when working at different sizes of catchment area. The choice of fecal indicator will impact the results of surveillance studies using this indicator to represent fecal load. Our results contribute broadly to an applicable standard normalization factor and assist in interpreting wastewater data in epidemiological modeling and monitoring.

Abstract
According to first-principle lattice QCD calculations, the transition from quark-gluon plasma to hadronic matter is a smooth crossover in the region μ_{B}≤T_{c}. In this range the ratio, C_{6}/C_{2}, of net-baryon distributions are predicted to be negative. In this Letter, we report the first measurement of the midrapidity net-proton C_{6}/C_{2} from 27, 54.4, and 200 GeV Au+Au collisions at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC). The dependence on collision centrality and kinematic acceptance in (p_{T}, y) are analyzed. While for 27 and 54.4 GeV collisions the C_{6}/C_{2} values are close to zero within uncertainties, it is observed that for 200 GeV collisions, the C_{6}/C_{2} ratio becomes progressively negative from peripheral to central collisions. Transport model calculations without critical dynamics predict mostly positive values except for the most central collisions within uncertainties. These observations seem to favor a smooth crossover in the high-energy nuclear collisions at top RHIC energy.

Abstract
Microbial fuel cell (MFC) is an emerging technology which has been immensely investigated for wastewater treatment along with electricity generation. In the present study, the treatment efficiency of MFC was investigated for hydrocarbon containing wastewater by optimizing various parameters of MFC. Mediator-less MFC (1·2 l) was constructed, and its performance was compared with mediated MFC with Escherichia coli as a biocatalyst. MFC with electrode having biofilm proved to be better compared with MFC inoculated with suspended cells. Analysis of increasing surface area of electrode by increasing their numbers indicated increase in COD reduction from 55 to 75%. Catholyte volume was optimized to be 750 ml. Sodium benzoate (0·721 g l-1 ) and actual common effluent treatment plant (CETP) wastewater as anolyte produced 0·8 and 0·6 V voltage and 89 and 50% COD reduction, respectively, when a novel consortium of four bacterial strains were used. Twenty MFC systems with the developed consortium when electrically connected in series-parallel connection were able to generate 2·3 V and 0·5 mA current. This is the first report demonstrating the application of CETP wastewater in the MFC system, which shows potential of the system towards degradation of complex organic components present in industrial wastewater.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Vitamin D deficiency co-exists with and can confuse the diagnosis of primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT). Vitamin D replete (VDR) status may prevent significant postparathyroidectomy hypocalcaemia; however, reports from previous studies are conflicting. This study aimed to assess differences in early and/or late postoperative hypocalcaemia and length of stay (LOS) postparathyroidectomy between VDR and vitamin D non-replete (VDNR) PHPT patients. METHODS This was a retrospective cohort study of a prospectively maintained single surgeon operative database. All records of patients who underwent parathyroidectomy over a four-year period (July 2014 to December 2018) were extracted. Data were collected on vitamin D and corrected calcium levels pre- and postoperatively as well as postoperative complications and LOS. RESULTS On presentation, there were 91 (47.9%) VDR and 99 (52.1%) VDNR patients. Following vitamin D therapy there were 148 (77.9%) VDR and 42 (22.1%) VDNR. The multivariate analysis showed that vitamin D status was the only significant factor impacting on the hypocalcaemia symptoms (OR 4.9, 95% CI 1.8-13.7, p = 0.002) and the most significant factor for the calcium supplementation (OR 6.5, 95% CI 2.1-19.4, p = 0.001). Bilateral neck exploration was associated with increased likelihood of transient hypocalcaemia (p = 0.007) but no other post-op complication. Median LOS was significantly shorter for VDR (1 day) versus VDNR (1.5 days) patients (p = 0.001). CONCLUSION There is a statistically significant increased likelihood of postoperative hypocalcaemia symptoms, requirement for calcium supplements and increased LOS in VDNR patients. This study suggests optimising preoperative vitamin D status improves patient experience and could reduce healthcare costs.

Abstract
We consider a low temperature plasma environment in the low Earth orbital region in the presence of charged space debris particles. The dynamics of (2+1)-dimensional nonlinear dust-ion acoustic waves with weak transverse perturbation, generated in the system, is found to be governed by a forced Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation, where the forcing term depends on charged space debris function. The bending phenomena of some exact dust-ion acoustic solitary wave solutions in the x-t and x-y planes are shown; they result from the consideration of different types of possible localized debris functions. A family of exact pinned accelerated solitary wave solutions has been obtained where the velocity changes over time but the amplitude remains constant. The shape of the debris function also changes during its propagation. Also, a special exact solitary wave solution has been derived for the dust-ion acoustic wave that gets curved in spatial dimensions with the curvature depending upon the nature of the forcing debris function. Such intricate solitary wave solutions may be useful in modeling real experimental data.

Abstract
Genetic algorithm (GA) and gravitational search algorithm (GSA) both have successfully been applied in solving ELD problems of electrical power generation systems. Each of these algorithms has their limitations and advantage. GA's global search and GSA's local search capability are their strong points while long execution period of GA and premature of convergence of GSA hinders the possibility of optimum result when applied separately in ELD problems. To mitigate these limitations, experiment is done for the first time by combining GA and GSA suitably and applying the hybrid in non-linear ELD problems of 6, 15, and 40 unit test systems. The paper reports the details of this study including comparative analysis considering similar hybrid algorithms. The result strongly attests the quality, consistency, and overall effectiveness of the GA-GSA hybrid in ELD problems.

Background
Cancer patients and survivors have higher burden of cardiovascular diseases than the age-adjusted general population. However, evidence on distribution of cardiovascular disease risk factors in cancer patients is limited.
Purpose
Our aim was to assess if racial disparities exist in prevalence of cardiovascular disease risk factors in head and neck cancer patients.
Methods
In this clinical cohort, we included 2299 head neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) patients diagnosed between 2012-2018 at a National Cancer Institute-designated Cancer Center. We used a combination of ICD-9/10 codes, medication use and pharmacy records from electronic medical records data, to identify cardiovascular disease risk factors (hypertension, dyslipidemia and diabetes mellitus). We reported prevalence of cardiovascular disease risk factors at and one year-post HNSCC diagnosis, by race, using Chi-square or Wilcoxon test, as appropriate.
Results
Black HNSCC patients were diagnosed at a slightly younger age (median: 60.0 vs 62.0 years, p-value 0.0745), had a higher proportion of males (p-value 0.0221) and advanced cancer stage at diagnosis (p-value 0.0033), than white HNSCC patients. At diagnosis, 32.63% of black HNSCC patients had hypertension and 34.44% had at least one cardiovascular disease risk factor, compared to 24.59% and 27.74% in whites, respectively (p-values 0.0020 and 0.0127, respectively). At one-year post HNSCC diagnosis, 84.73% of all HNSCC patients had at least one cardiovascular disease risk factor. No statistically significant racial differences were observed for hypertension and diabetes mellitus at one-year post HNSCC diagnosis, however, 37.74% of white HNSCC patients had dyslipidemia compared to 27.49% black patients (p-value 0.003).
Conclusion
Higher prevalence of hypertension and advanced cancer stage at HNSCC diagnosis in black patients highlights issues of racial disparity and unequal access to care. High prevalence of cardiovascular disease risk factors at one-year post HNSCC diagnosis and increase in dyslipidemia in white patients emphasizes the impact of therapeutic agents and need for routine personalized monitoring of cardiovascular disease risk factors and cardiovascular disease preventive services in high risk HNSCC patients.

Abstract
Introduction Patients with OCD often show unsatisfactory response to first-line treatment, giving rise to a need for novel therapeutic approaches. Recent studies using tDCS for OCD treatment have shown promise. Objectives To assess efficacy and safety of add-on c-tDCS over pre-SMA compared to sham stimulation in patients with OCD. Methods In this double-blinded study, fourteen patients with OCD were randomized to receive 10 sessions of either active (Cathode over pre-SMA, anode over right deltoid, 2mA, 20 minutes per session, 2 sessions per day, 2 hours apart) or sham tDCS. YBOCS, HAM-D, HAM-A, CGI, Wisconsin Card Sorting Test (WCST), and Stroop Test were administered at baseline, post-tDCS, and 1 month post-tDCS. Results Group×time interaction effect for YBOCS scores with Repeated Measures ANOVA was not statistically significant, however, reduction in scores in active group was higher, with large effect size (YBOCS scores: Obsessions-ηp2=.344, Compulsions-ηp2= .384, Total-ηp2=.392) (Fig.1 & 2). At 1 month, 42.9% patients in active group and none in sham group showed response. CGI-S score (p=0.016, ηp2=.531) (Fig. 3) and four parameters of WCST (Perseverative responses:p=0.038, ηp2=.448;Percent perseverative responses:p=0.026, ηp2=.485;Percent perseverative errors:p=0.038, ηp2=.447;Trials to complete first category:p=0.011, ηp2=.563) significantly reduced in active group. No significant difference in change in depressive and anxiety symptoms between groups, or change in Stroop Test performance was noted. Adverse effects included transient headache and tingling sensation.![]() ![]() ![]() Conclusions Cathodal tDCS over pre-SMA may be effective in reduction of obsessions, compulsions, illness severity, and enhancing cognitive flexibility in patients with OCD, with no major adverse effects. Background
Successful identification of emotional expression in patients is of considerable importance in the diagnosis of diseases and while developing rapport between physicians and patients. Despite the importance of such skills, this aspect remains grossly overlooked in conventional medical training in India. This study aims to explore the extent to which medical students can identify emotions by observing photographs of male and female subjects expressing different facial expressions.
Methods
A total of 106 medical students aged 18-25 without any diagnosed mental illnesses were shown images of the six universal facial expressions (anger, sadness, fear, happiness, disgust and surprise) at 100% intensity with an exposure time of 2 seconds for each image. The participants marked their responses after each image was shown. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS.
Results
Participants could identify 76.54% of the emotions on average, with higher accuracy for positive emotions (95.6% for happiness) and lower for negative emotions (46% for fear). There were no significant variations in identification with respect to gender of observers. On the other hand, statistically significant differences were observed in identification when gender of the expressors were considered.
Conclusions
Male participants identified emotions better from male faces, while females identified positive emotions better from female faces and negative ones from male faces.
Key messages
Misidentification of emotions, especially negative emotions, from static facial expressions was common in physician students of both sexes. This is an aspect that needs to be addressed during the training of medical students in India.
