Abstract
BACKGROUND Padel players commonly suffer from shoulder pain and the particularly high incidence is probably linked to the high frequency of strokes. In addition, due to the repetitive technical gesture, an adequate technique is essential in terms of performance and injury risk prevention. Aim of this study was to objectively evaluate shoulder kinematic during the athletic gesture to analyze the risk factors linked to padel strokes. METHODS Professional and amateur padel players underwent a three-dimensional motion analysis of the padel strokes utilizing optoelectronic and surface electromyography systems (BTS Bioengineering, Garbagnate Milanese, Milan, Italy). RESULTS Twelve padel players were included in this study (10 professional players in Group A and 10 amateurs in Group B). Experience influences the execution of padel strokes with a significant difference between group A and B in terms of gleno-humeral rotation and scapular tilt. Moreover, a subgroup analysis revealed that male players execute voleè with a higher external rotation (P=0.043), and forehand with a higher scapular tilt (P=0.044). CONCLUSIONS The results confirm that the high ranges of motion of the overhead strokes could rise the risk of slap lesion, impingement, and glenohumeral internal rotation deficit. However, a correct execution of the athletic gesture is linked with a dynamic stabilization of the humeral head. In conclusion, the kinematic analysis could help in the early identification of the kinematic alteration to build a tailored rehabilitation plan based on the athlete's needs.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Cerebral palsy (CP) is the predominant cause of children disability. It is characterized by motor, sensory, and postural deficits due to a non-progressive injury to the developing central nervous system. In recent years, new rehabilitation techniques targeting the central representations of motor patterns have been introduced: the most used are action observation therapy (AOT), motor imagery (MI), and mirror therapy (MT). Aim of this study is to assess the effectiveness of these cognitive strategies on the recovery of upper limb motor functions in children with CP. EVIDENCE ACQUISITION This study was designed as a systematic review and meta-analysis, registered in PROSPERO (CRD42023403794). For the report and methodological definitions of this study, the recommendations of the PRISMA protocol and the Cochrane collaboration, were followed. A total of 3 electronic databases (PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science) were searched for relevant Randomized Control Trials (RCT) using the combinations of terms "cerebral palsy" AND "action observation" OR "motor imagery" OR "mirror therapy" OR "cognitive therapy." A meta-analysis was carried out to compare cognitive and conventional approaches and combine direct and indirect effects. A random-effects meta-analysis model was used to derive pooled effect estimates. EVIDENCE SYNTHESIS Out of 328 records, 12 RCTs were analyzed in this systematic review published from 2012 to 2022, and included 375 children, of whom 195 received cognitive therapies, and 180 underwent conventional rehabilitation. AOT was the most investigated (RCTs N.=7), and showed significant results in the recovery of upper limb motor functions, albeit the meta-analysis demonstrated a non-significant difference in Melbourne Unilateral Upper limb Scale (MUUL) (95% CI: -7.34, 12); in Assisting Hand Assessment (AHA) (95% CI: -4.84, 10.74), and in AbilHand-Kids Questionnaire (95% CI: -1.12, 1.45). Five RCTs investigated MT showing significant improvements in grip and dexterity; none used MI as intervention therapy. CONCLUSIONS Cognitive therapies provided with encouraging results in the recovery of upper limb motor functions, although not a clinical effect in bimanual or unimanual performance; they could represent a valid therapeutic solution integrated to conventional rehabilitation in the treatment of upper limb motor impairment in children with CP.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Lifestyle interventions halt the progression of prediabetes to frank type 2 diabetes (T2D). However, the feasibility of a diabetes prevention program promoting tailored interventions on a national scale and conducted by primary care physicians is unclear. METHODS General practitioners located in ten different regions throughout Italy enrolled random subjects without known metabolic diseases to identify individuals with prediabetes and prescribe them an intervention based on physical activity. Using a simple stepwise approach, people referring to their primary care physician for any reason were screened for their diabetes risk with a web-based app of the Findrisc questionnaire. Those at risk for T2D, i.e., with a Findrisc score >9, were invited to come back after overnight fasting to measure fasting glycaemia (FG). Those with 100 ≤ FG < 126 mg/dL were considered as people with prediabetes and compiled the Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q) to then receive a personalised prescription of physical activity. RESULTS Overall, 5928 people were enrolled and compiled the questionnaire. Of these, 2895 (48.8%) were at risk for T2D. Among these, FG was measured in 2168 subjects (participation rate 75%). The numbers of individuals with undetected prediabetes and T2D according to FG were 755 and 79 (34.8% and 3.6% of those assessing FG), respectively. Of the 755 subjects in the prediabetes range, 739 compiled the PAR-Q and started a personalised program of physical activity (participation rate 97%). Physicians involved in the study reported a mean of 6 min to perform the screening. CONCLUSIONS Overall, these data suggest the feasibility of a national diabetes prevention program developed by general practitioners using a simple stepwise approach starting from a web app to intercept individuals with prediabetes.

Abstract
Stroke represents the third cause of long-term disability in the world. About 80% of stroke patients have an impairment of bio-motor functions and over half fail to regain arm functionality, resulting in motor movement control disorder with serious loss in terms of social independence. Therefore, rehabilitation plays a key role in the reduction of patient disabilities, and 3D printing (3DP) has showed interesting improvements in related fields, thanks to the possibility to produce customized, eco-sustainable and cost-effective orthoses. This study investigated the clinical use of 3DP orthosis in rehabilitation compared to the traditional ones, focusing on the correlation between 3DP technology, therapy and outcomes. We screened 138 articles from PubMed, Scopus and Web of Science, selecting the 10 articles fulfilling the inclusion criteria, which were subsequently examined for the systematic review. The results showed that 3DP provides substantial advantages in terms of upper limb orthosis designed on the patient's needs. Moreover, seven research activities used biodegradable/recyclable materials, underlining the great potential of validated 3DP solutions in a clinical rehabilitation setting. The aim of this study was to highlight how 3DP could overcome the limitations of standard medical devices in order to support clinicians, bioengineers and innovation managers during the implementation of Healthcare 4.0.

Abstract
Bowel dysfunction is a common consequence of neurological diseases and has a major impact on the dignity and quality of life of patients. Evidence on neurogenic bowel is focused on spinal cord injury and multiple sclerosis; few studies have focused on patients with acquired brain injury (ABI). Neurogenic bowel dysfunction is related to a lifelong condition derived from central neurological disease, which further increases disability and social deprivation. The manifestations of neurogenic bowel dysfunction include fecal incontinence and constipation. Almost two out of three patients with central nervous system disorder have bowel impairment. This scoping review aims to comprehend the extent and type of evidence on bowel dysfunction after ABI and present conservative treatment. For this scoping review, the PCC (population, concept, and context) framework was used: patients with ABI and bowel dysfunction; evaluation and treatment; and intensive/extensive rehabilitation path. Ten full-text articles were included in the review. Oral laxatives are the most common treatment. The Functional Independence Measure (FIM) subscale is the most common scale used to assess neurogenic bowel disease (60%), followed by the Rome II and III criteria, and the colon transit time is used to test for constipation; however, no instrumental methods have been used for incontinence. An overlapping between incontinence and constipation, SCI and ABI increase difficulties to manage NBD. The need for a consensus between the rehabilitative and gastroenterological societies on the diagnosis and medical care of NBD. Abstract
PURPOSE Surgical training is crucial for orthopedics residents during their educational careers. Residents who follow classic training courses are less skilled than those trained with simulators. Virtual simulators are reported to be global learning tools for knee arthroscopy. The primary purpose of our study is to evaluate the current state of use of arthroscopic knee simulators and their actual effectiveness in transfer the skills learned in training to the operating theatre. The secondary purpose is to evaluate if the virtual simulators are better than the others in improve arthroscopic skills. METHODS Studies involving knee arthroscopy training with virtual reality simulators were included: a search of the literature from 2009 to September 2019 was performed on MEDLINE(PubMed) using PRISMA guidelines. Exclusion criteria were systematic review articles, aims and topics not related to the purpose of the study, single case and technical reports, biomechanical analysis, articles not in the English language, and editorial commentaries. RESULTS The literature review selected, nine studies and they included results on 93 residents, three expert surgeons and 189 medical students. All studies report improved arthroscopic skills after training with a simulator. Only four studies evaluated the transfer of arthroscopic skills of knee simulators to the operating theatre. CONCLUSIONS Benchtop and Virtual Reality simulators are excellent tools for accelerating and improving arthroscopic training and skills acquisition. The second ones, high-cost, and fidelity simulators, seem to be the best of the two. A greater diffusion of Virtual Reality in universities is to be considered to improve residents' training and patients' clinical outcomes.

Abstract
Amputation has a big impact on the functioning of patients, with negative effects on locomotion and dexterity. In this context, inertial measurement units represent a useful tool in clinical practice for motion analysis, and in the development of personalized aids to improve a patient's function. To date, there is still a gap of knowledge in the scientific literature on the application of inertial sensors in amputee patients. Thus, the aim of this narrative review was to collect the current knowledge on this topic and stimulate the publication of further research. Pubmed, Embase, Scopus, and Cochrane Library publications were screened until November 2022 to identify eligible studies. Out of 444 results, we selected 26 articles focused on movement analysis, risk of falls, energy expenditure, and the development of sensor-integrated prostheses. The results showed that the use of inertial sensors has the potential to improve the quality of life of patients with prostheses, increasing patient safety through the detection of gait alteration; enhancing the socio-occupational reintegration through the development of highly technologic and personalized prosthesis; and by monitoring the patients during daily life to plan a tailored rehabilitation program.

Abstract
In recent years, next to conventional rehabilitation's techniques, new technologies have been applied in stroke rehabilitation. In this context, fully immersive virtual reality (FIVR) has showed interesting results thanks to the level of immersion of the subject in the illusional world, with the feeling of being a real part of the virtual environment. This study aims to investigate the efficacy of FIVR in stroke rehabilitation. PubMed, Web of Science and Scopus were screened up to November 2022 to identify eligible randomized controlled trials (RCTs). Out of 4623, we included 12 RCTs involving post-acute and chronic stroke survivors, with a total of 350 patients (234 men and 115 women; mean age 58.36 years). High heterogeneity of the outcomes considered, the results showed that FIVR provides additional benefits, in comparison with standard rehabilitation. In particular, results showed an improvement in upper limb dexterity, gait performance and dynamic balance, influencing patient independence. Therefore, FIVR represents an adaptable, multi-faceted rehabilitation tool that can be considered in post-stroke rehabilitation, improving the compliance of the patients to the treatment and increasing the level of functioning and quality of life of stroke survivors.

Abstract
BACKGROUND There are no papers exploring the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the injection-based practice in patients affected by different rheumatic diseases, including osteoarthritis. The aim was to investigate the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on injection-based practice trough the Italian country. STUDY DESIGN A survey-based retrospective cross-sectional study. METHODS An Italian-language questionnaire was developed by a group of senior researchers and distributed by e-mail to some Rheumatology, Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Units from different geographic areas of Italy. The survey included information about the number of injections performed during COVID-19 pandemic (stratified by injected agents and injected joint), in comparison to the pre-pandemic period, and the possible reasons behind an eventual reduction. Responses were collected and descriptive analysis calculated. RESULTS Eleven centers of the National Health Service completed the survey. The activities of the injections services significantly decreased across the country with a percentage of reduction of 60% compared to the pre-pandemic period. A significant reduction of both intra-articular and peri-articular injections was registered. Among intra-articular. treatments, the most affected ones were the hyaluronic acid injections, when compared to corticosteroids. A significant decrease of the total amount of peri-articular injections was observed. The strict government restrictions and the fear of patients to become infected represented the most limiting factors. CONCLUSIONS The reported decrease of the injection-based practice in our country during the COVID-19 pandemic highlights the detrimental effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the management of chronic musculoskeletal diseases with possible negative consequences in terms of disability and quality of life.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Adhesive capsulitis is a disease of unknown aetiology. Conservative therapy is based on the use of multimodal techniques (instrumental physical therapy, exercise, physiokinesitherapy and anti-inflammatory drug therapy). As yet, there is no consensus on which conservative therapy treatment is best for the management of the patient with adhesive capsulitis. The aim of this study is to define the state of the art and guide specialists in choosing effective treatments for adhesive capsulitis. MATERIALS AND METHODS We performed a search on PubMed; Web of Science, Scopus, Chochrane Library and PEDRo selecting 20 RCT studies published between 2010 and 2020 in any language of which the Full-Text was available with a PEDRo Score greater than or equal to 6, and which compared any conservative treatment with no treatment or other conservative treatments. RESULTS 1089 subjects were taken into consideration and 19 out of the 20 studies compared multimodal therapies: 6 directly assessed the effectiveness of physical therapies (3 US; 1 WBC; 1 HILT and 1 rESWT), 3 studies evaluated the efficacy of manual glenohumeral mobilizations, 4 compared manual and mechanical stretching techniques, and 7 evaluated the effectiveness of different supervisedgroup or home therapeutic exercises in multimodal rehabilitation programs. The characteristics of the selected studies were very heterogeneous and sample were not uniform as regards stage of disease, level of ROM reduction and mean duration of complaints). CONCLUSIONS Ultrasound therapy did not prove effective on the pathology, unlike radial shockwaves and cryotherapy. The joint mobilizations, techniques adopting posterior glenohumeral approaches and high-end mobilizations would appear to be effective both manual and instrumental techniques. In general stretching is a mandatory implementation in rehabilitation programs. From the data in the literature it does not emerge the possibility of identifying treatment guidelines execpt for individual or group exercises, that are possibly oriented to the performance of daily activities.

Abstract
Tendinopathies are common causes of pain and disability in general population and athletes. Conservative treatment is largely preferred, and eccentric exercise or other modalities of therapeutic exercises are recommended. However, this approach requests several weeks of consecutive treatment and could be discouraging. In the last years, injections of different formulations were evaluated to accelerate functional recovery in combination with usual therapy. Hyaluronic acid (HA) preparations were proposed, in particular LMW-HA (500-730 kDa) for its unique molecular characteristics in favored extracellular matrix homeostasis and tenocyte viability. The purpose of our review is to evaluate the state-of-the-art about the role of 500-730 kDa in tendinopathies considering both preclinical and clinical findings and encourage further research on this emerging topic.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Literature provides unclear evidence of the effectiveness of many physiotherapy interventions on pain intensity, quality of life, and functional ability in hemophilic patients, and suggests that rehabilitation programs should be focused on functional goals and the disability of patients. AIM The aim of the present study is to present the outcome of a case series of patients with hemophilia in which a rehabilitation program has been carried out on the basis of a specific individual patient's functional impairment. METHODS Fifty-one patients were enrolled: 32 patients (Rehab Group) received a rehabilitative treatment, 19 patients for different reasons (living far from the hospital, family problems) did not receive rehabilitation (Control Group). The rehabilitation program was planned with respect to the emergent problems: musculoskeletal pain, joint range of motion limitation, muscle flexibility, walking difficulties, the appearance of hematomas/hemartro, and postural problems. All the patients were assessed at baseline (T0), after 1 month (T1), and after 3 months (T2) through visual analogic scale for musculoskeletal pain, the Hemophilia Joint Health Score for joint range of motion, the Functional Independence Score in Hemophilia for disability, and postural assessment by visual inspection. RESULTS A significant reduction of pain and improvement of Hemophilia Joint Health Score and Functional Independence Score in Hemophilia score was found in the Rehab Group along with the follow-up. Pain in the Control Group was lower with respect to the other group at baseline and significantly decreased after 1 month. CONCLUSION A rehabilitation program focused on individual impairment of patients with hemophylia determined satisfying results in terms of pain control, functional, and disability improvement in 3 months follow-up.

Abstract
Introduction:The music as a powerful, and versatile stimulus for the brain, is at the date sometimes used in neurorehabilitation and proposed as a promising complementary strategy provided in combination with other therapy in individuals with neurological disorders. Different techniques and devices have been developed in the field of the music-based neurorehabilitation.Areas covered:This scoping review analyzes the current scientific literature concerning the different techniques and devices used in the music-supported neurorehabilitation, also focusing on the devices used in music-based therapies in patients with neurological disorders: 46 studies met the inclusion criteria and were included.Expert opinion:Included studies, highlight the potentiality and the versatility of the music-based therapy in the rehabilitation of neurological disorders. The variety of existing techniques allow to applied the music-based therapy in different situations and conditions. Moreover, the wide range of used devices that ranging from the simple musical instruments to the more advanced technologies, allows to develop customized exercises based on the needs of the patient. This review may be considered as a starting point to better design future RCTs that would investigate the effectiveness of music therapy on neurological disorders.

Abstract
Haemophilia A is a rare inherited hematologic disorder characterized by a deficit of coagulation factor VIII. It is associated with frequent episodes of musculoskeletal bleedings that occur mainly inside joints and secondly inside muscles. The majority of intramuscular hematomas respond well to conservative protocols, based on rehabilitation techniques and appropriate haemostatic coverage; surgery is limited to refractory cases. This manuscript describes the management of an intramuscular bleeding in a young patient with severe haemophilia A and high-titre inhibitors. A multidisciplinary approach directed by a physiatrist and combining surgical intervention, use of bypassing agents and rehabilitation treatment allowed to successfully managing this case, leading to a complete functional recovery. Given the lack of consensus on the treatment of intramuscular bleedings in haemophiliac patients, this case report provides an example of successful management for such conditions, which require a multidisciplinary approach in which the physiatrist plays a key role.

(1) Background: Management of chronic low back pain (cLBP) is often multidisciplinary, involving a combination of treatments, including therapeutic exercises. Core stability exercises aim to improve pain and disability in cLBP increasing spinal stability, neuromuscular control, and preventing shear force that causes injury to the lumbar spine. The purpose of this study was to review the available evidence about the effectiveness in reducing pain and improving disability of core stability exercises for non-specific cLBP. (2) Methods: We perform a systematic research on common Medline databases: PubMed, Pedro, and Cochrane Library. Search results were limited to articles written in English and published between January 2005 and November 2020.The search provided a total of 420 articles. Forty-nine articles met the inclusion criteria and 371 articles were excluded. (3) Results: Core stability provides great therapeutic effects in patients with non-specific chronic low back pain reducing pain intensity, functional disability, and improving quality of life, core muscle activation, and thickness. Evidences suggest that core stability is more effective than rest or no/minimal intervention and combination with other types of exercise for cLBP have shown grater efficacy. (4) Conclusion: Core stability could be proposed in a comprehensive approach in cLBP, the combination with other modalities of therapeutic exercise should be promoted. Patient compliance is crucial to determine the efficacy of the intervention.

Abstract
Despite the widespread availability of several effective classes of drugs, systemic arterial hypertension remains poorly controlled in the majority of patients worldwide. In this article, we discuss the different modalities and effects of combination therapy and possible future research questions. Treatment with a single antihypertensive agent can effectively reduce blood pressure in only a limited number of patients, while most require therapy with two or more agents to achieve target levels. As initial therapy, American and European guidelines suggest a combination of two antihypertensive drugs and the use of a third antihypertensive drug when hypertension is still uncontrolled. Initial combination therapy is recommended in high-risk patients for an immediate blood pressure response, improved tolerability and possibly increased patient adherence. In addition to the potential benefits of combining different drug classes with synergistic pharmacological and physiological actions, this approach is useful for increasing the patient compliance with treatment, in particular if provided at fixed doses in a single pill. The minimisation of side effects is critical for the long-term treatment of a largely asymptomatic condition such as systemic hypertension. Low-dose combinations of different drugs from classes with complementary actions may provide the best ratio of lower side effects and improved tolerability with a significant blood pressure reduction, particularly in high-risk patients. This approach could be aided by a multidisciplinary lifestyle intervention on risk factors.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The impact of the SARS-CoV-2 on the National Health System (NHS) required a reorganization of the various levels of care, which also involved the rehabilitation reality. AIM OF THE WORK A clinical practice review of the literature was conducted to provide operational-rehabilitation guidelines adapted to the local reality and to the recent corporate reorganization in the context of the COVID-19 emergency. METHODS A practice review of the available scientific evidence was regularly conducted from the start of the COVID-19 pandemic to periodically update the clinical practice guidelines. Articles that met the following inclusion criteria were included: studies conducted on human adult subjects with COVID-19 infection, undergoing rehabilitation in any hospitalization setting. RESULTS The results of this clinical practice update were periodically discussed with colleagues and collaborators in a multi-professional team, in order to guarantee a good clinical practice protocol, named P.A.R.M.A. CONCLUSIONS The P.A.R.M.A. protocol is the result of a periodic review literature update, which has allowed us to take charge of patients affected by COVID-19 according to the most up-to-date clinical evidences, guaranteeing a shared and uniform treatment within a local reality in an era of health emergency.

Abstract
Return to play (RTP) decisions in football are currently based on expert opinion. No consensus guideline has been published to demonstrate an evidence-based decision-making process in football (soccer). Our aim was to provide a framework for evidence-based decision-making in RTP following lower limb muscle injuries sustained in football. A 1-day consensus meeting was held in Milan, on 31 August 2018, involving 66 national and international experts from various academic backgrounds. A narrative review of the current evidence for RTP decision-making in football was provided to delegates. Assembled experts came to a consensus on the best practice for managing RTP following lower limb muscle injuries via the Delphi process. Consensus was reached on (1) the definitions of 'return to training' and 'return to play' in football. We agreed on 'return to training' and RTP in football, the appropriate use of clinical and imaging assessments, and laboratory and field tests for return to training following lower limb muscle injury, and identified objective criteria for RTP based on global positioning system technology. Abstract
BACKGROUND The main purpose of this retrospective case series study was to evaluate long-term radiographic and clinical outcomes of a consecutive series of patients diagnosed with isolated, displaced, closed talar neck or body fractures treated by open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF). Secondly, the aim was to verify the influence of the location of talar fractures on the outcomes, the prognostic value of the Hawkins sign, whether operative delays promote avascular necrosis (AVN) and if the fractures require emergent surgical management. METHODS From January 2007 to December 2012, at our institution, 31 patients underwent ORIF through the use of screws. On the basis of Inokuchi criteria, the injuries were divided between neck and body fractures, which were classified according to Hawkins and Sneppen, respectively. The patients included were divided into two groups in relation to fracture location and complexity. Radiographic assessment focused on reduction quality, bone healing, the Hawkins sign and post-traumatic arthritis (PTA) development. For the clinical evaluation, clinical-functional scores (AOFAS Ankle-Hindfoot Score; MFS; FFI-17; SF-36) and VAS were determined, and statistical analysis was performed. RESULTS 27 patients, 19 males and 8 females, mean age 38.3 years, were included with an average follow-up period of 83.2 months (range 49-119). There were 9 neck and 19 body fractures; their reduction was anatomical or nearly anatomical in 22 cases, and all reached radiographic consolidation after a mean period of 3.4 months (range 1.7-7). The Hawkins sign was observed in 9 cases, in which necrosis did not develop. With a 0-11 day surgical timing interval, more than 60% of the patients obtained good or fair results with different scores, while 18 (66.7%) were completely satisfied (VAS: 9-10). The early complications included malunions (21.4%) and wound problems (25%); the late complications involved AVN (25%) and PTA (78.6%). CONCLUSIONS Despite a high rate of long-term complications, satisfactory clinical results were achieved. Talar fracture location did not influence the outcomes, the Hawkins sign was confirmed as a positive prognostic factor, and operation timing did not influence AVN development. Hence, these injuries do not require emergent surgical management by ORIF.

Abstract
Among conventional osteoarthritis (OA) treatments, intra-articular (i.a) viscosupplementation with hyaluronic acid (HA) is used to restore joint viscoelasticity. However, the rapid clearance and elimination of HA may limit its application. The aim of this study was to verify the improved efficacy of HA within the joint, using a lactose-modified chitosan (chitlac) as a potentially chondroprotective additive. Four weeks after induction of experimental OA by destabilization of the medial meniscus (DMM), 12-week-old Sprague Dawley male rats (n = 30), received once a week, for three weeks, i.a injections of: (i) HA associated to chitlac (ARTY-DUO®), (ii) HA; and (iii) sodium chloride (NaCl). Five animals for each group were euthanized 4 weeks after the first i.a injection, while the remaining five were euthanized 8 weeks after the first i.a injection. The restoration of physiological joint microenvironment was tested by histology, histomorphometry, immunohistochemistry, and microtomography (micro-CT). At 4 and even more at 8 weeks, histological analysis showed a significant decrease in OARSI and Mankin scores, with weaker matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-3, MMP-13, and Galectin-3 in ARTY-DUO® group versus NaCl and HA groups. A reduction in Galectin-1 and a stronger Collagen II staining was seen in both ARTY-DUO® and HA versus NaCl. A reduction in Kreen-modified score, for synovium inflammation, was observed in the ARTY-DUO® group. Micro-CT measurements did not shown significant differences between the groups. The present results show that i.a ARTY-DUO® injections produce a significant improvement in knee articular cartilage degeneration and synovium inflammation in a rat model of DMM-induced OA. © 2019 Orthopaedic Research Society. Abstract
Osteitis pubis is a common cause of chronic groin pain, especially in athletes. Although a precise etiology is not defined, it seems to be related to muscular imbalance and pelvic instability. Diagnosis is based on detailed history, clinical evaluation, and imaging, which are crucial for a correct diagnosis and proper management. Many different therapeutic approaches have been proposed for osteitis pubis; conservative treatment represents the first-line approach and provides good results in most patients, especially if based on an individualized multimodal rehabilitative management. Different surgical options have been also described, but they should be reserved to recalcitrant cases. In this review, a critical analysis of the literature about athletic osteitis pubis is performed, especially focusing on its diagnostic and therapeutic management.

Abstract
Axillary nerve injuries are uncommon, although the incidence is higher in athletes, both related to direct contusion or quadrilateral space syndrome. While few studies have investigated conservative strategies that could be proposed to avoid surgery, no previous case report documented the possible role of rehabilitation in axillary nerve reinjuries. Our patient is a 27-year-old male professional rugby player who experienced a recurrent episode of deltoid strength loss, after a previous axillary nerve injury. The MRI of the brachial plexus showed increased signal intensity of C5 spinal root, together with denervation edema in infraspinatus muscle, related to a recent traction injury while the EMG confirmed the persistence of traumatic paresis of axillary nerve and the chronic sufferance of C5 myotome. Our conservative treatment consists in a 2-phases rehabilitation protocol builded up on the basis of a shoulder kinematic test, electrostimulation test and a further EMG. The purpose of this report was to bring attention on axillary nerve conservative management. Premature return to sport may predispose the patient to the risk of re-injury. A prompt diagnosis and a timely specific rehabilitation protocol allow to a safe full-return to professional sport activity and may prevent recurrences.
