Abstract
Solar-blind photodetectors based on wide bandgap semiconductors have recently attracted a lot of interest. Nickel-containing spinel phase oxides, such as NiAl2O4, are stable p-type semiconductors. This paper describes a multifunctional solar-blind photodetector based on a NiAl2O4/4H-SiC heterojunction that utilizes photovoltaic effects. The position sensitivity reaches a value of 1589.7 mV/mm under 405 nm laser illumination, while the relaxation times of vertical photovoltaic (VPV) effect and lateral photovoltaic (LPV) effect under 266 nm laser illumination are only 0.32 and 0.42 μs, respectively. This junction was used to create a space optical communication system with sunlight having little effect on its optoelectronic properties. The ultrafast photovoltaic relaxation time makes NiAl2O4/4H-SiC a promising candidate for self-powered high-performance solar-blind detectors.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the objective response rate (ORR) of induction chemoimmunotherapy with camrelizumab plus TPF (docetaxel, cisplatin, and capecitabine) for locally advanced hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LA HSCC) and potential predictive factors for ORR. Methods: A single-center, prospective, phase 2 and single-arm trial was conducted for evaluating antitumor activity of camrelizumab+TPF(docetaxel+cisplatin+capecitabine) for LA HSCC between May 21, 2021 and April 15, 2023, patients admitted to the Eye & ENT Hospital affiliated with Fudan University. The primary endpoint was ORR, and enrolled patients with LA HSCC at T3-4N0-3M0 received induction chemoimmunotherapy for three cycles: camrelizumab 200 mg day 1, docetaxel 75 mg/m2 day 1, cisplatin 25 mg/m2 days 1-3, and capecitabine 800 mg/m2 days 1-14. Patients were assigned to radioimmunotherapy when they had complete response or partial response (PR)>70% (Group A), or assigned to surgery plus adjuvant radiotherapy/chemoradiotherapy when they had PR≤70% (Group B), and the responses were defined by using tumor volume evaluation system. Tumor diameter was also used to assess the treatment responses by Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST) version 1.1. Use SPSS 23.0 software was used to analyze the data. Results: A total of 51 patients were enrolled who underwent the induced chemoimmunotherapy for three cycles, and all were males, aged 35-69 years old. After three cycles of induction immunochemotherapy, 42 (82.4%) patients existed in Group A (complete response or PR>70%) and 9 patients (17.6%) in Group B (PR≤70%), the ORR was 82.4%. The primary endpoint achieved expected main research objectives. Compared to the patients of Group A, the patients of Group B showed the higher T stage and the larger volume of primary tumor before induced immunochemotherapy, and also had the less regression of tumor volume after induced immunochemotherapy (all P<0.05). The optimal cutoff value of pre-treatment tumor volume for predicting ORR was 39 cm3. The T stage (OR=12.71, 95%CI: 1.4-112.5, P=0.022) and the volume (OR=7.1, 95%CI: 1.4-36.8, P=0.018) of primary tumor were the two main factors affecting ORR rate of induction chemoimmunotherapy. Conclusion: The induction chemoimmunotherapy with camrelizumab plus TPF shows an encouraging antitumor efficacy in LA HSCC.

Abstract
Background Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) is the most common endocrine malignancy. Skip metastases of PTCs are easily misdiagnosed before surgery, and it could lead to re-operation and affect the prognosis. Although there are a few studies about nomograms for predicting central lymph node metastases (CLNM) or lateral lymph node metastases (LLNM) of PTCs, there are few studies about nomograms for skip metastases. Based on the clinical and ultrasonographic characteristics of patients with PTCs, the aim of our study was to investigate the risk factors and establish a nomogram for predicting the risk of skip metastases in PTCs. Methods This study enrolled 218 PTCs patients with lateral cervical lymph node metastases and their data were analyzed retrospectively. According to the postoperative pathological results, the patients were divided into skip-positive group and skip-negative group. In order to establish the nomogram, univariate and multivariate analyses were used to estimate risk factors of skip metastases. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve, internal calibration plot and decision curve analysis (DCA) were used to evaluate the nomogram model's efficacy. Results There were statistical differences between skip-positive group and skip-negative group in tumor location, the maximum diameter (D) and capsule invasion (P<0.05). No statistical differences were observed in sex, age, Hashimoto's thyroiditis, multifocality, anteroposterior diameter/transverse diameter (A/T) ratio, shape, margin, microcalcification, intra-nodular vascularity and preoperative serum thyroglobulin (Tg) (P≥0.05). The risk factors of skip metastases in PTCs were D ≤10 mm, location in the upper portion and capsule invasion. The area under the curve (AUC) of nomogram was 0.877, the accuracy was 85.32%, the sensitivity was 60.98%, and the specificity was 90.96%. The calibration curve and the Hosmer-Lemeshow goodness of fit test showed that the consistency between the nomogram and the actual observation was good. The DCA showed that most PTC patients might benefit from the predictive nomogram model. Conclusions A nomogram for predicting skip metastases in PTCs may be useful in clinical diagnosis and treatment.

Abstract
Introduction It is well-known that different populations and animals, even experimental animals with the same rearing conditions, differ in their susceptibility to obesity. The disparity in gut microbiota could potentially account for the variation in susceptibility to obesity. However, the precise impact of gut microbiota on gut metabolites and its subsequent influence on susceptibility to obesity remains uncertain. Methods In this study, we established obesity-prone (OP) and obesity-resistant (OR) mouse models by High Fat Diet (HFD). Fecal contents of cecum were examined using 16S rDNA sequencing and untargeted metabolomics. Correlation analysis and MIMOSA2 analysis were used to explore the association between gut microbiota and intestinal metabolites. Results After a HFD, gut microbiota and gut metabolic profiles were significantly different between OP and OR mice. Gut microbiota after a HFD may lead to changes in eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), a variety of branched fatty acid esters of hydroxy fatty acids (FAHFAs) and a variety of phospholipids to promote obesity. The bacteria g_Akkermansia (Greengene ID: 175696) may contribute to the difference in obesity susceptibility through the synthesis of glycerophosphoryl diester phosphodiesterase (glpQ) to promote choline production and the synthesis of valyl-tRNA synthetase (VARS) which promotes L-Valine degradation. In addition, gut microbiota may affect obesity and obesity susceptibility through histidine metabolism, linoleic acid metabolism and protein digestion and absorption pathways.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Surgical treatment is playing an increasingly important role in the management of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). This consensus focuses on the indications for optimal surgery, and surgical methods in the whole process of treatment for NPC to provide a useful reference to assist these difficult clinical decisions. METHODOLOGY A thorough review of available literature on NPC and surgery was conducted by the Association for the prevention and treatment of nasopharyngeal carcinoma in China, international exchange and promotion Association for medicine and healthcare, and the Committee on nasopharyngeal cancer of Guangdong provincial anticancer association. A set of questions and a preliminary draft guideline was circulated to a panel of 1096 experienced specialists on this disease for voting on controversial areas and comments. A refined second proposal, based on a summary of the initial voting and different opinions expressed, was recirculated to the experts in two authoritative medical science and technology academic groups in the prevention and treatment of NPC in China for review and reconsideration. RESULTS The initial round of questions showed variations in clinical practice even among similar specialists, reflecting the lack of high-quality supporting data and resulting difficulties in formulating clinical decisions. Through exchange of comments and iterative revisions, recommendations with high-to-moderate agreement were formulated on general treatment strategies and details of surgery, including indications and surgical approaches. CONCLUSION By standardizing the surgical indications and practice, we hope not only to improve the surgical outcomes, but also to highlight the key directions of future clinical research in the surgical management of NPC.

Abstract
Objective To explore the diagnostic value of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) of qualitative and quantitative parameters for differentiating differentiated thyroid cancers from benign nodules. Method A total of 290 thyroid nodules that were pathologically confirmed were enrolled in this study. The univariate analysis was performed for the clinical characteristics and CEUS qualitative and quantitative parameters of the inside and peripheral zone of nodules, including age, gender, nodule size, intensity of enhancement, homogeneity, wash-in and wash-out patterns, margin after CEUS, ring enhancement, peak intensity, sharpness, time to peak(TP), and area under the curve(AUC), and the meaningful indicators in the single-factor analysis were further included in multivariate logistic regression analysis. Results Multivariate analysis showed that there were significant differences in age (p=0.031), nodule size (p<0.001), heterogeneous enhancement (p<0.001), hypo-enhancement (p=0.001), unclear margin after CEUS(p=0.007), inside peak (p<0.001), and outside sharpness(p<0.001) between benign and malignant nodules. However, there were no significant differences in gender, ring enhancement, wash-in, wash-out, outside TP, outside AUC between benign and malignant thyroid nodules (P>0.05, for all). Conclusion CEUS might be useful in the differential diagnosis of differentiated thyroid cancers and benign nodules, which could provide a certain basis for clinical treatment.

Abstract
Objective: To compare the surgical safety and postoperative quality of life between proximal gastrectomy with double tract reconstruction (PG-DT) and proximal gastrectomy with gastric tube reconstruction (PG-GT) for proximal gastric cancer. Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study of clinical and follow-up data of 99 patients with proximal gastric cancer who had undergone double tract or gastric tube surgery in Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital from January 2016 to September 2021. We allocated them to two groups according to surgical procedure, namely a double tract group (PG-DT, 50 patients) and gastric tube group (PG-GT, 49 patients). Proximal gastrectomy with double tract reconstruction entails constructing a Roux-en-Y esophagojejunostomy after severing the proximal stomach, and then constructing a side-to-side anastomosis between the residual stomach and the jejunum to establish an anti-reflux barrier and thus minimize postoperative gastroesophageal reflux. Proximal gastrectomy with gastric tube reconstruction entails severing the proximal gastric stomach, constructing a tubular shaped gastric remnant, and then using a linear stapler to directly anastomose the posterior wall of the esophagus to the anterior wall of the resultant gastric tube. The primary end point was the quality of life of the two groups 1 year postoperatively (post-gastrectomy syndrome assessment scale: the higher the scores for change in body mass, food intake per meal, meal quality subscale, total physical health measurement, and total mental health measurement, the better the quality-of-life, and the higher the scores for other indicators, the worse the quality-of-life). The secondary end points were intraoperative and postoperative status, changes in nutritional status 1, 3, 6, and 12 months postoperatively, and long-term postoperative complications (gastroesophageal reflux, anastomotic stenosis, intestinal obstruction, and gastric emptying disorder 1 year postoperatively). Results: In the PG-DT group, there were 35 (70%) men and 15 (30%) women, 33 (66.0%) patients were aged <65 years, and 37 (74.0%) of them had a body mass index of 18-25 kg/m2; whereas in the PG-GT group, there were 41 (83.7%) men and eight (16.3%) women, 21 (42.9%) patients aged <65 years, and 34 (69.4%) patients with a body mass index of 18-25 kg/m2. There were no significant differences in baseline data between the two groups except for age (P=0.021). There were no significant differences in intraoperative blood loss, number of lymph node dissected, length of hospital stay, and incidence of perioperative complications between the two groups (all P>0.05). Compared with the PG-GT group, the incidence and severity of postoperative reflux esophagitis were significantly lower in the PG-DT group (4.0% [2/50] vs. 26.5% [13/49], χ2=13.507, P=0.009). The incidences of postoperative anastomotic stenosis, intestinal obstruction, and gastric retention did not differ significantly between the two groups (all P>0.05). Patients in the PG-DT group had better quality-of-life scores for esophageal reflux (2.8 [2.3,4.0] vs. 4.8 [3.8,5.0], Z=3.489, P<0.001), eating discomfort (2.7 [1.7,3.0] vs. 3.3 [2.7,4.0 ], Z=3.393, P=0.001), and total symptoms (2.3 [1.7,2.7] vs. 2.5 [2.2,2.9], Z=2.243, P=0.025) than those in the gastric tube group; The scores for postoperative symptoms (2.0 [1.0,3.0] vs. 2.0 [2.0, 3.0], Z=2.127, P=0.033), meals consumed (2.0 [1.0, 2.0] vs. 2.0 [2.0, 3.0], Z=3.976, P<0.001), work (1.0 [1.0, 2.0] vs. 2.0 [1.0, 2.0], Z=2.279, P=0.023] and daily life (1.7 [1.3, 2.0] vs. 2.0 [2.0, 2.3], Z=3.950, P<0.001) were better in the PG-DT than the PG-GT group. Patients in the PG-GT group scored better than those in the PG-DT group for somatic symptoms, such as anal evacuation (3.0 [2.0, 4.0] vs. 3.5 [2.0, 5.0], Z=2.345, P=0.019). There were no significant differences in hemoglobin, serum albumin, serum total protein, or weight loss 1 year postoperatively between the two groups (all P>0.05). Conclusions: The safety of double tract anastomosis for proximal gastric cancer is comparable to that of gastric tube surgery. Compared with gastric tube surgery, double tract anastomosis achieves less esophageal reflux and better quality of life, making it a preferable surgical procedure for proximal gastric cancer.

Abstract
Glyphosate residues can tremendously impact the physiological mechanisms of tea plants, thus threatening tea security and human health. Herein, integrated physiological, metabolite, and proteomic analyses were performed to reveal the glyphosate stress response mechanism in tea plant. After exposure to glyphosate (≥1.25 kg ae/ha), the leaf ultrastructure was damaged, and chlorophyll content and relative fluorescence intensity decreased significantly. The characteristic metabolites catechins and theanine decreased significantly, and the 18 volatile compounds content varied significantly under glyphosate treatments. Subsequently, tandem mass tags (TMT)-based quantitative proteomics was employed to identify the differentially expressed proteins (DEPs) and to validate their biological functions at the proteome level. A total of 6287 proteins were identified and 326 DEPs were screened. These DEPs were mainly catalytic, binding, transporter and antioxidant active proteins, involved in photosynthesis and chlorophyll biosynthesis, phenylpropanoid and flavonoid biosynthesis, sugar and energy metabolism, amino acid metabolism, and stress/defense/detoxification pathway, etc. A total of 22 DEPs were validated by parallel reaction monitoring (PRM), demonstrating that the protein abundances were consistent between TMT and PRM data. These findings contribute to our understanding of the damage of glyphosate to tea leaves and molecular mechanism underlying the response of tea plants to glyphosate.

[Correlation between pelvic relapses of rectal cancer after radical and R0 resection: A regression model-based analysis]. Abstract
Objective: To propose a new staging system for presacral recurrence of rectal cancer and explore the factors influencing radical resection of such recurrences based on this staging system. Methods: In this retrospective observational study, clinical data of 51 patients with presacral recurrence of rectal cancer who had undergone surgical treatment in the Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery, Peking University People's Hospital between January 2008 and September 2022 were collected. Inclusion criteria were as follows: (1) primary rectal cancer without distant metastasis that had been radically resected; (2) pre-sacral recurrence of rectal cancer confirmed by multi-disciplinary team assessment based on CT, MRI, positron emission tomography, physical examination, surgical exploration, and pathological examination of biopsy tissue in some cases; and (3) complete inpatient, outpatient and follow-up data. The patients were allocated to radical resection and non-radical resection groups according to postoperative pathological findings. The study included: (1) classification of pre-sacral recurrence of rectal cancer according to its anatomical characteristics as follows: Type I: no involvement of the sacrum; Type II: involvement of the low sacrum, but no other sites; Type III: involvement of the high sacrum, but no other sites; and Type IV: involvement of the sacrum and other sites. (2) Assessment of postoperative presacral recurrence, overall survival from surgery to recurrence, and duration of disease-free survival. (3) Analysis of factors affecting radical resection of pre-sacral recurrence of rectal cancer. Non-normally distributed measures are expressed as median (range). The Mann-Whitney U test was used for comparison between groups. Results: The median follow-up was 25 (2-96) months with a 100% follow-up rate. The rate of metachronic distant metastasis was significantly lower in the radical resection than in the non-radical resection group (24.1% [7/29] vs. 54.5% [12/22], χ2=8.333, P=0.026). Postoperative disease-free survival was longer in the radical resection group (32.7 months [3.0-63.0] vs. 16.1 [1.0-41.0], Z=8.907, P=0.005). Overall survival was longer in the radical resection group (39.2 [3.0-66.0] months vs. 28.1 [1.0-52.0] months, Z=1.042, P=0.354). According to univariate analysis, age, sex, distance between the tumor and anal verge, primary tumor pT stage, and primary tumor grading were not associated with achieving R0 resection of presacral recurrences of rectal cancer (all P>0.05), whereas primary tumor pN stage, anatomic staging of presacral recurrence, and procedure for managing presacral recurrence were associated with rate of R0 resection (all P<0.05). According to multifactorial analysis, the pathological stage of the primary tumor pN1-2 (OR=3.506, 95% CI: 1.089-11.291, P=0.035), type of procedure (transabdominal resection: OR=29.250, 95% CI: 2.789 - 306.811, P=0.005; combined abdominal perineal resection: OR=26.000, 95% CI: 2.219-304.702, P=0.009), and anatomical stage of presacral recurrence (Type III: OR=16.000, 95% CI: 1.542 - 166.305, P = 0.020; type IV: OR= 36.667, 95% CI: 3.261 - 412.258, P = 0.004) were all independent risk factors for achieving radical resection of anterior sacral recurrence after rectal cancer surgery. Conclusion: Stage of presacral recurrences of rectal cancer is an independent predictor of achieving R0 resection. It is possible to predict whether radical resection can be achieved on the basis of the patient's medical history.

Abstract
Immune subtyping is an important way to reveal immune heterogeneity, which may contribute to the diversity of the progression and treatment in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). However, reported immune subtypes mainly focus on levels of immune infiltration and are mostly based on a mono-omics profile. This study aimed to identify a comprehensive immune subtype for HNSCC via multi-omics clustering and build a novel subtype prediction system for clinical application. Data were obtained from The Cancer Genome Atlas database and our independent multicenter cohort. Multi-omics clustering was performed to identify 3 clusters of 499 patients in The Cancer Genome Atlas based on immune-related gene expression and somatic mutations. The immune characteristics and biological features of the obtained clusters were revealed by bioinformatics, and 3 immune subtypes were identified: 1) adaptive immune activation subtype predominantly enriched in T cells, 2) innate immune activation subtype predominantly enriched in macrophages, and 3) immune desert subtype. Subsequently, the clinical implications of each subtype were analyzed per clinical epidemiology. We found that adaptive immune activation showed better survival outcomes and had a similar response to chemotherapy with innate immune activation, whereas immune desert might be relatively resistant to chemotherapy. Moreover, a subtype prediction system was developed by deep learning with whole slide images and named HISMD: HNSCC Immune Subtypes via Multi-omics and Deep Learning. We endowed HISMD with interpretability through image-based key feature extraction. The clinical implications, biological significances, and predictive stability of HISMD were successfully verified by using our independent multicenter cohort data set. In summary, this study revealed the immune heterogeneity of HNSCC and obtained a novel, highly accurate, and interpretable immune subtyping prediction system. For clinical implementation in the future, additional validation and utility studies are warranted.

Abstract
ABSTRACT The aim of this research was to investigate the clinical and ultrasonographic features of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) in the isthmus. A total of 823 patients with 823 PTCs including 133 in the isthmus and 690 in the lateral lobe were included in our study. All patients were confirmed by postoperative pathology. The clinical and ultrasonographic characteristics were retrospectively analyzed and compared. Univariate analysis and multivariate logistic regression analysis were performed. Multifactor analyses showed that PTC in the isthmus was significantly different from PTC originating from the lateral lobe in aspect ratio, microcalcification, extrathyroid extension, lymph node metastases, and lymph node density ( P < 0.05, for all). There were no significant differences in age, sex, tumor size, margin, halo, echogenicity, and homogeneity ( P > 0.05, for all). The results indicated that the sonographic appearances of PTC in the isthmus were relatively atypical; however, it had a higher incidence of extrathyroidal extension, central lymph node metastasis, and a tendency of higher lymph node density. Therefore, more careful ultrasound evaluation should be performed for these nodules.

Abstract
CsPbBr3, an inorganic halide perovskite, has attracted great interest in recent years due to its excellent photoelectric properties. In this paper, we report a high-performance position-sensitive detector and laser communication sensor based on a CsPbBr3/4H-SiC heterojunction that effectively exploits the lateral photovoltaic (LPV) effect. The X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectra, and photoluminescence data indicate that a high-quality CsPbBr3 film has been successfully obtained using pulsed laser deposition. The thickness of the CsPbBr3 film is shown to play a key role in the open-circuit voltage and linear LPV. A large position sensitivity (up to 827 mV/mm) of the LPV with a fast relaxation time is observed. Moreover, the shortest relaxation time of only 0.34 μs for 532 nm laser irradiation among counterparts is achieved in the detector under consideration. Furthermore, the position sensitivity and relaxation time of the LPV in the CsPbBr3/4H-SiC heterojunction show a weak dependence on the laser wavelength from 266 to 532 nm. The robust characteristics of fast relaxation time and high position sensitivity of the LPV make the CsPbBr3 junction a promising candidate for both laser communication sensors and self-powered high-performance position-sensitive detectors.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the indications and management of common postoperative complications of phase II tracheoesophageal puncture (TEP) for Provox Vega voice prosthesis after total laryngectomy. Methods: The clinical data of 20 patients undergoing phase II TEP for Provox Vega voice prosthesis in our hospital between May 2021 and January 2022 were analyzed. Among them, there were 19 males and 1 female, aged from 37 to 76 years, with an average age of (60.0±8.4)years. The surgical indications and the prevention and treatment of common postoperative complications were summarized. Descriptive analysis was used in this research. Results: The basic surgical indications were as following: after total laryngectomy, there was no stenosis of the stoma and esophagus entrance, no scar constitution, no mouth opening restriction, no stiffness and backward restraint of the neck after radiotherapy, and more than half a year apart surgery or radiotherapy. Among the 20 patients, 18 underwent implantation successfuly, 1 failed in the operation, and for 1 patient, the prosthesis was removed due to bleeding 1 week after implantation. The common postoperative complications included TEP fistula infection (2 cases), the TEP fistula bleeding(1 case), deep neck (prevertebral) abscess (1 case), granulation at the inner side of the TEP fistula (1 case), invagination of the prosthesis (2 cases) and leakage around the prosthesis (2 cases). All patients were cured with different interventions. Conclusions: The Provox Vega voice prosthesis is generally safe for phase Ⅱ implantatione, but implantation indications need to be established. Common postoperative complications can be solved through preventive and remedial interventions.

Abstract
Domain-wall nanoelectronics is considered to be a new paradigm for non-volatile memory and logic technologies in which domain walls, rather than domains, serve as an active element. Especially interesting are charged domain walls in ferroelectric structures, which have subnanometre thicknesses and exhibit non-trivial electronic and transport properties that are useful for various nanoelectronics applications1-3. The ability to deterministically create and manipulate charged domain walls is essential to realize their functional properties in electronic devices. Here we report a strategy for the controllable creation and manipulation of in-plane charged domain walls in BiFeO3 ferroelectric films a few nanometres thick. By using an in situ biasing technique within a scanning transmission electron microscope, an unconventional layer-by-layer switching mechanism is detected in which ferroelectric domain growth occurs in the direction parallel to an applied electric field. Based on atomically resolved electron energy-loss spectroscopy, in situ charge mapping by in-line electron holography and theoretical calculations, we show that oxygen vacancies accumulating at the charged domain walls are responsible for the domain-wall stability and motion. Voltage control of the in-plane domain-wall position within a BiFeO3 film gives rise to multiple non-volatile resistance states, thus demonstrating the key functional property of being a memristor a few unit cells thick. These results promote a better understanding of ferroelectric switching behaviour and provide a new strategy for creating unit-cell-scale devices.

Abstract
Tracking body and hand motions in 3D space is essential for social and self-presence in augmented and virtual environments. Unlike the popular 3D pose estimation setting, the problem is often formulated as egocentric tracking based on embodied perception (e.g., egocentric cameras, handheld sensors). In this article, we propose a new data-driven framework for egocentric body tracking, targeting challenges of omnipresent occlusions in optimization-based methods (e.g., inverse kinematics solvers). We first collect a large-scale motion capture dataset with both body and finger motions using optical markers and inertial sensors. This dataset focuses on social scenarios and captures ground truth poses under self-occlusions and body-hand interactions. We then simulate the occlusion patterns in head-mounted camera views on the captured ground truth using a ray casting algorithm and learn a deep neural network to infer the occluded body parts. Our experiments show that our method is able to generate high-fidelity embodied poses by applying the proposed method to the task of real-time egocentric body tracking, finger motion synthesis, and 3-point inverse kinematics.

Abstract
PURPOSE Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a common chronic liver disease. This study examined sex-specific associations between NAFLD and metabolic factors and investigated the trajectory of risk factors. METHODS We retrospectively investigated 16,140 individuals from Beijing Health Management Cohort. Univariate and multivariate time-dependent Cox regression analyses were performed to identify independent risk factors for new-onset NAFLD. The trajectory of risk factors was investigated using the latent growth curve model and growth mixture model. RESULTS Over a median follow-up of 3.15 years, 2,450 (15.18%) participants developed NAFLD. The risk factors for NAFLD in men were increased body mass index (BMI); waist circumference (WC); triglyceride (TG), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), haemoglobin (Hb), and serum uric acid (SUA) levels; and platelet (PLT) count and decreased serum creatinine-to-body weight (sCr/bw) and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) levels. In women, the risk factors were increased BMI, WC, and fasting plasma glucose (FPG), TG, LDL-C, SUA, white blood cell (WBC), and PLT and decreased sCr/bw and HDL-C levels. In addition, BMI, LDL-C, sCr/bw and PLT changing trajectories were associated with NAFLD in men; BMI, WC, TG, LDL-C, SUA and sCr/bw trends was associated with NAFLD risk in women. CONCLUSIONS Development of NAFLD is associated with BMI, LDL-C, sCr/bw and PLT changing trajectories in men; BMI, WC, TG, LDL-C, SUA and sCr/bw trends are associated an increased risk of NAFLD in women. Deterioration of metabolic risk factors status can be a predictor of NAFLD many years before its occurrence.

Introduction/Objective
Salmonella meningitis is associated with a significant neurological sequelae, subdural effusions, cerebral infarction, encephalitis, cerebral abscess, and high mortality. It is a rare complication of Salmonella sepsis and occurs almost exclusively during early infancy. Salmonella is identified as pathogen in less than 1% of confirmed cases of bacterial meningitis in infants. Immunocompromised individuals have higher risk of having invasive salmonellosis.
Methods/Case Report
We present a case of 4-month-old male with no significant past medical history who was presented to emergency department with five days history of fever, cough and decreased oral intake. At the time of admission, complete blood count was obtained and showed a platelet count of 702 x 10(3)/mcL, hematocrit of 25% and WBC of 17.0 x 10(3)/mcL with differential showing absolute neutrophilia and absolute monocytosis. Head ultrasound was concerning for meningoencephalitis with bilateral parenchymal echogenicity and bilateral subdural collections. Lumbar puncture showed WBC cell count of 229 (36 % PMNs, 52% lymphocytes, 12% monocytes), red blood cells of 0, glucose of 13 mg/dL, protein of 151 mg/dL. Meningitis multiplex PCR panel of the CSF was negative. MRI of the brain showed findings suggestive of meningitis with associated subdural empyema and ventriculitis without hydrocephalus. CSF culture identified Salmonella species that is susceptible to ampicillin and ceftriaxone which later identified as Salmonella infantis by the State laboratory. Immunodeficiency workup including next generation sequencing immunodeficiency panel did not reveal any known causes. Of note, mother has psoriasis and was treated with ustekinumab; an antibody against a cytokine subunit shared by IL12 and IL23, during pregnancy. The patient responded to antibiotic treatment and was discharged in a stable condition.

Conclusion
This case report highlights Salmonella infantis meningitis in a pediatric patient who was exposed to ustekinumab in utero which could cause drug induced immunodeficiency state as IL-12 is known to activate macrophages and macrophages are critical for Salmonella clearance. Although ustekinumab level was undetected in the patient right prior to discharge, the long half-life and mechanism of action of this medication could have caused an immunodeficiency state which allowed rare Salmonella infantis meningitis.

Infectious gastroenteritis (IGE) is a common but complex entity which is a major cause of global morbidity and mortality. IGE is caused by a wide range of etiologic agents such as viruses, bacteria, and parasites. In the United States there are approximately 373 million of IGE cases per year. Most cases of IGE resolve without identification of a specific pathogen. Multiplex molecular assays allow identification of multiple possible pathogens with rapid turnaround time and increased sensitivity, facilitating to formulate an effective treatment plan and control measures.
Methods/Case Report
We present a case of a pediatric patient with no significant past medical history who has been having runny stools that have progressively worsened in the last 3 months and 2 days history of bloody stools with mucus before emergency room presentation. She had no fever, vomiting, joint pain, oral ulcer, and rash. Physical exam showed that the patient appeared well, nontoxic, and vital signs were within normal limit. Copious rhinorrhea was noted. She was at 50th percentile for age on the growth chart. Family denied any recent travel or sick contacts however stated that all the family members have been on well water. Complete blood count was obtained and showed a platelet count of 669 x 10(3)/mcL and WBC of 16.6 x 10(3)/mcL with differential showing absolute lymphocytosis, absolute monocytosis and absolute eosinophilia. Biofire FilmArray gastrointestinal panel performed on the stool detected Giardia lamblia, Campylobacter, Shiga-like toxin producing E. coli and Adenovirus F 40/41. Repeat of the panel per protocol detected the same four pathogens.

Conclusion
This case report highlights the significance of detecting multiple causative pathogens. While long term watery diarrhea may guide clinicians to malabsorptive process and the use of well water to Giardia, a sensitive and specific multiplex assay can detect all the pathogens involved in the disease process and greatly simplify the treatment plan for patients. This unusual combination of pathogens can explain the unique symptomology of the patient including long term watery diarrhea, recent bloody diarrhea as well as copious rhinorrhea and failure to thrive.

Abstract
Cuticular wax ubiquitously covers the outer layer of plants and protects them against various abiotic and biotic stresses. Nevertheless, the characteristics of cuticular wax and its role in cold resistance in tea plants remain unclear. In our study, cuticular wax from different tissues, cultivars, and leaves during different spatio-temporal growth stages were characterized and compared in tea plants. The composition, distribution pattern, and structural profile of cuticular wax showed considerable tissue specificity, particularly in petals and seeds. During the spatial development of tea leaves, total wax content increased from the first to fifth leaf in June, while a decreasing pattern was observed in September. Additionally, the total wax content and number of wax compounds were enhanced, and the wax composition significantly varied with leaf growth from June to September. Ten cultivars showed considerable differences in total wax content and composition, such as the predominance of saturated fatty acids and primary alcohols in SYH and HJY cultivars, respectively. Correlation analysis suggested that n-hexadecanoic acid is positively related to cold resistance in tea plants. Further transcriptome analysis from cold-sensitive AJBC, cold-tolerant CYQ, and EC 12 cultivars indicated that the inducible expression of wax-related genes was associated with the cold tolerance of different cultivars in response to cold stress. Our results revealed the characterization of cuticular wax in tea plants and provided new insights into its modification in cold tolerance.

Abstract
Objective To explore the effect of inspiratory muscle training (IMT) on patients with heart failure and further explore the impact of IMT on patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction. Methods PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, CNKI, Wanfang and VIP databases were systematically searched. Randomized controlled trials of inspiratory muscle training in patients with heart failure were included. Revman 5.3 software was used to calculate the weighted mean difference (MD) of the combined effect size. The effects of IMT on the maximum oxygen uptake (peakVO2), maximum inspiratory pressure (PImax), ventilation efficiency (VE/VCO2), six-minute walking distance (6MWD), forced expiratory volume (FEV1), forced vital capacity (FVC) and quality of life in patients with heart failure were compared and analyzed. Results After systematic retrieval and screening, 17 studies were included in this study, and the quality of the included studies was good. The results showed that IMT could increase peakVO2 (MD 2.53; 95% CI 1. 54, 3. 51; P < 0.0001) and PImax (MD 17.25; 95% CI 13. 75, 20. 75; P < 0.00001); improve the VE/VCO2 (MD −4.22; 95% CI −6.78, −1.66; P = 0.001) and significantly improve the quality of life in patients with heart failure (MD −13.34; 95% CI −20.42, −6.26; P = 0.0002). However, the effect of IMT on 6MWD in patients with heart failure was not statistically significant (MD 74.45; 95% CI −12.88,161.79; P = 0.09), and the effect on lung function (FEV1 and FVC) was also not statistically significant (P = 0.08; P = 0.86). IMT had a more significant positive effect on peakVO2 (MD 2.98; 95% CI 1.63, 4.34; P < 0.0001) and quality of life (MD −14.52; 95% CI −18.53, −10.52; P < 0.00001) in patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction. Descriptive analysis suggested that IMT may positively affect dyspnoea in patients with heart failure. In addition, the choice of evaluation scale may affect the evaluation results of quality of life and dyspnoea. Conclusion IMT has a significant positive effect on respiratory status in patients with heart failure, but different dyspnoea and quality of life evaluation scales can affect the final evaluation results.

Background
Regurgitation following TAVR impacts all-cause mortality. So far, no quantitative comparison of regurgitation by the same core lab has been performed among the various commercially available transcatheter heart valves (THV) We aimed to compare quantitative angiographic aortic regurgitation (AR) of 11 different types of THVs.
Method
This is a multicentre retrospective corelab pooled analysis of aortograms from 2704 consecutive patients treated with 11 different THV devices. Analysis was done by quantitative videodensitometric aortography (LVOT-AR), which is an objective, accurate, and reproducible tool for assessment of AR following TAVR. This method relies on time density changes in contrast medium after injection in the ascending aorta and its regurgitation (and subsequent density increase) in the LVOT. The ratio between the areas under the two-time density curves of these regions quantifies the AR in absolute percentage. The valves evaluated include ACURATE neo2 (n=120), Lotus (n=546), Myval (n=108), VitaFlow (n=105), Evolut PRO (n=95), SAPIEN 3 (n=397), Evolut R (n=295), SAPIEN XT (n=239), ACURATE neo (n=120), Venus-A (n=113) and CoreValve (n=532). Stratification of continuous variable regurgitation into categorical variables was performed according to the following pre-determined threshold criteria: 1) none/trace regurgitation (LVOT-AR<6%); 2) mild (6%≤ LVOT-AR ≤17%); and 3) moderate or severe (LVOT-AR >17%).
Results
The addition of anti PVR sealing features to the new generations ACURATE neo2 THV proved to be effective in reduction the incidence of significant PVR In comparison with the first generation ACURATE neo.
Myval, VitaFlow and Venus-A THVs are showing promising results.
Although the incidence of moderate/severe AR has regressed over time with new generations of THVs, the incidence of mild AR is still prominent with all THVs still exhibiting mild AR with an incidence ranging between 30% and 50% with the exception of the Lotus valve that had an 19% incidence of mild AR
Conclusion
ACURATE neo2 had the lowest severe/moderate percentage of AR showing significant improvements in comparison to ACURATE neo. Myval, VitaFlow and Venus-A are promising options in the THV armamentarium. These results should be confirmed in prospective randomized, head-to-head comparisons between THVs.

Abstract
Resonant tunneling is a quantum-mechanical effect in which electron transport is controlled by the discrete energy levels within a quantum-well (QW) structure. A ferroelectric resonant tunneling diode (RTD) exploits the switchable electric polarization state of the QW barrier to tune the device resistance. Here, the discovery of robust room-temperature ferroelectric-modulated resonant tunneling and negative differential resistance (NDR) behaviors in all-perovskite-oxide BaTiO3 /SrRuO3 /BaTiO3 QW structures is reported. The resonant current amplitude and voltage are tunable by the switchable polarization of the BaTiO3 ferroelectric with the NDR ratio modulated by ≈3 orders of magnitude and an OFF/ON resistance ratio exceeding a factor of 2 × 104 . The observed NDR effect is explained an energy bandgap between Ru-t2g and Ru-eg orbitals driven by electron-electron correlations, as follows from density functional theory calculations. This study paves the way for ferroelectric-based quantum-tunneling devices in future oxide electronics.

Abstract
We report on a search for compact binary coalescences where at least one binary component has a mass between 0.2 M_{⊙} and 1.0 M_{⊙} in Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo data collected between 1 April 2019 1500 UTC and 1 October 2019 1500 UTC. We extend our previous analyses in two main ways: we include data from the Virgo detector and we allow for more unequal mass systems, with mass ratio q≥0.1. We do not report any gravitational-wave candidates. The most significant trigger has a false alarm rate of 0.14 yr^{-1}. This implies an upper limit on the merger rate of subsolar binaries in the range [220-24200] Gpc^{-3} yr^{-1}, depending on the chirp mass of the binary. We use this upper limit to derive astrophysical constraints on two phenomenological models that could produce subsolar-mass compact objects. One is an isotropic distribution of equal-mass primordial black holes. Using this model, we find that the fraction of dark matter in primordial black holes in the mass range 0.2 M_{⊙}<m_{PBH}<1.0 M_{⊙} is f_{PBH}≡Ω_{PBH}/Ω_{DM}≲6%. This improves existing constraints on primordial black hole abundance by a factor of ∼3. The other is a dissipative dark matter model, in which fermionic dark matter can collapse and form black holes. The upper limit on the fraction of dark matter black holes depends on the minimum mass of the black holes that can be formed: the most constraining result is obtained at M_{min}=1 M_{⊙}, where f_{DBH}≡Ω_{DBH}/Ω_{DM}≲0.003%. These are the first constraints placed on dissipative dark models by subsolar-mass analyses.

Abstract
Ferroelectric HfO2-based materials hold great potential for the widespread integration of ferroelectricity into modern electronics due to their compatibility with existing Si technology. Earlier work indicated that a nanometre grain size was crucial for the stabilization of the ferroelectric phase. This constraint, associated with a high density of structural defects, obscures an insight into the intrinsic ferroelectricity of HfO2-based materials. Here we demonstrate that stable and enhanced polarization can be achieved in epitaxial HfO2 films with a high degree of structural order (crystallinity). An out-of-plane polarization value of 50 μC cm-2 has been observed at room temperature in Y-doped HfO2(111) epitaxial thin films, with an estimated full value of intrinsic polarization of 64 μC cm-2, which is in close agreement with density functional theory calculations. The crystal structure of films reveals the Pca21 orthorhombic phase with small rhombohedral distortion, underlining the role of the structural constraint in stabilizing the ferroelectric phase. Our results suggest that it could be possible to exploit the intrinsic ferroelectricity of HfO2-based materials, optimizing their performance in device applications.

Abstract
This study aimed to retrospectively analyze the features of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) of renal masses that cannot be detected by conventional ultrasound (CUS). The data of 264 patients who underwent CEUS for renal lesions from January 2016 to December 2019 were retrieved. Of these, 16 patients with renal masses which were not detected by CUS were included in the final analysis. The corresponding characteristics of CEUS were evaluated, including intensity of enhancement, homogeneity, wash-in and wash-out patterns, and perilesional rim-like enhancement. Of the 16 patients, 10 patients had clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) and 6 patients had urothelial carcinoma of the renal pelvis (UCRP). Compared with the location on non-enhanced computed tomography (CT) scan, all tumors were detected on CEUS. Most (7/10) of the ccRCCs appeared as hyperenhancement, homogeneous enhancement, synchronous-in, and no perilesional rim-like enhancement. Most (4/6) of the UCRPs appeared as isoenhancement, slow-in, fast-out, and no perilesional rim-like enhancement. CEUS may be helpful in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of renal tumors which were not observed on CUS, and it might be an alternative method for some patients when contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) cannot be performed.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the feasibility and perioperative safety of transoral robotic surgery with da Vinci Xi platform for pharyngolaryngeal tumors. Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on 55 consecutive cases with resection of pharyngolaryngeal tumors by transoral robotic surgery with da Vinci Xi platform from July 27, 2020 to October 31, 2021 in the Department of Head and Neck Surgery, Fudan University Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital, including 44 males and 11 females, aged 25-79 years. There were 41 cases of oropharyngeal tumors, 9 cases of parapharyngeal space tumors, 2 cases of laryngeal tumors, 2 cases of hypopharyngeal tumors and 1 case of retropharyngeal space tumor. Operative time, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative hospital stay, perioperative tracheotomy, nasal feeding, hemorrhage and other complications were analyzed. Results: Of the 55 patients, 54 received resection of pharyngolaryngeal tumors by da Vinci robot through oral approach, and only 1 case of pyriform sinus carcinoma underwent a conversion to open surgery due to poor exposure of lower margin. The average surgical time for the patients with transoral robotic surgeries was 64.4 min, the average blood loss was 24.8 ml, the average postoperative hospital stay was 6.9 d, and the average oral feeding time was 11.1 d. Seventeen patients (30.9%) underwent preventive tracheotomy during surgery. Among 38 cases of laryngeal cancer, 28 underwent simultaneously neck dissection. No serious complications occurred in all patients during and after operation. The follow-up time was 1-15 months. Aside from 1 patient had a relapse 10 months after surgery, other patients had no recurrence or metastasis. Conclusion: Transoral robotic surgery with da Vinci Xi is safe, effective and minimally invasive for resection of pharyngolaryngeal tumors under reasonable indications.

Abstract
Background Porokeratosis (PK) is considered a skin‐specific autoinflammatory keratinization disease. Intriguingly, four causative genes of PK are in turn arranged in mevalonate pathway, with MVD variants being the commonest followed by MVK variants in a cohort of Chinese patients. Evidence indicates that mevalonate metabolites induce trained immunity in human monocytes and regulate T cells at multiple levels. Of note, γδT cells are dually regulated by intracellular and extracellular mevalonate metabolism. Aims To identify the possible differences in T‐cell between MVK or MVD variants from PK patients. Materials & Methods Targeted exome sequencing and exonic CNV screening were performed in 26 patients with PK. Sanger sequencing was used to validate all identified variants. Among them, 22 patients were identified with MVK or MVD variants. PBMCs from 22 PK patients and 27 normal controls (NCs) were analysed by flow cytometry for the frequencies of T cells subsets, including IFN‐γ‐, and TNF‐α‐producing T cells. Results There were 14 mutations identified in the 26 PK patients, including 6 novel mutations (MVK: c.118_226+1337dup, c.388_392delGATATinsC, c.613A>T, c.768G>C, and MVD: c.250C>T, c.988T>G). In contrast to NCs, significantly decreased frequencies of CD8+ and Vγ9Vδ2 T cells were observed in the PK patients with MVD variants. Moreover, it was found that dysregulated secretion of pro‐inflammatory cytokines by T cells in both PK patients with MVK and MVD variants. Conclusions Our findings enriched the Human Gene Mutation Databases and showed probable differences in peripheral T cells subsets between PK patients and controls.

Abstract
UNLABELLED Exogenous melatonin inhibited the senescence of preosteoblast cells in type 1 diabetic (T1D) mice and those cultured in high glucose (HG) by multiple regulations. Exogenous melatonin had a protective effect on diabetic osteoporosis, which may depend on the inhibition of senescence. INTRODUCTION Senescence is thought to play an important role in the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying diabetic bone loss. Increasing evidence has shown that melatonin exerts anti-senescence effects. In this study, we investigated whether melatonin can inhibit senescence and prevent diabetic bone loss. METHODS C57BL/6 mice received a single intraperitoneal injection of 160 mg/kg streptozotocin, followed by the oral administration of melatonin or vehicle for 2 months. Then, tissues were harvested and subsequently examined. MC3T3-E1 cells were cultured under HG conditions for 7 days and then treated with melatonin or not for 24 h. Sirt1-specific siRNAs and MT1- or MT2-specific shRNA plasmids were transfected into MC3T3-E1 cells for mechanistic study. RESULTS The total protein extracted from mouse femurs revealed that melatonin prevented senescence in T1D mice. The micro-CT results indicated that melatonin prevented bone loss in T1D mice. Cellular experiments indicated that melatonin administration prevented HG-induced senescence, whereas knockdown of the melatonin receptors MT1 or MT2 abolished these effects. Sirt1 expression was upregulated by melatonin administration but significantly reduced after MT1 or MT2 was knocked down. Knockdown of Sirt1 blocked the anti-senescence effects of melatonin. Additionally, melatonin promoted the expression of CDK2, CDK4, and CyclinD1, while knockdown of MT1 or MT2 abolished these effects. Furthermore, melatonin increased the expression of the polycomb repressive complex (PRC), but knockdown of MT1 or MT2 abolished these effects. Furthermore, melatonin increased the protein levels of Sirt1, PRC1/2 complex-, and cell cycle-related proteins. CONCLUSION This work shows that melatonin protects against T1D-induced bone loss, probably by inhibiting senescence. Targeting senescence in the investigation of diabetic osteoporosis may lead to novel discoveries.

Introduction/Objective
The COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated deficiencies of testing personnel, reagents, supplies and disposables, instruments, and automation in many clinical laboratories. Upon entering respiratory season, a strategy was warranted to optimize laboratory resources when supplies were already limited and expected respiratory season test volume was unknown. An algorithm was devised to prioritize test ordering and TAT based on patient clinical scenario.
Methods/Case Report
The institutional respiratory season SARS-CoV-2 algorithm was constructed by a multidisciplinary team including infectious disease, infection prevention, laboratory, and IT/LIS leadership. CDC guidance on influenza testing was incorporated. Antigen-based testing was discontinued; only molecular amplification- based platforms with FDA EUA were utilized. Platforms had a range of TAT (20 minutes to 8 hours) and included fully- automated high throughput, rapid random access, point-of-care, and CDC SARS-CoV-2 assays. Test bundles included SARS-CoV-2 (monoplex), or SARS-CoV-2 + fluA&B (triplex), or SARS-CoV-2 + respiratory pathogen panel (multiplex RPP; includes 22 targets, including flu A&B).

Key factors in the algorithm included whether the patient was outpatient or inpatient, hospital employee or not, symptomatic or not, immunocompetent or immunocompromised, and whether a concurrent order for other respiratory pathogens was included or not. Clinician responses for these factors determined the type of swab collected (wet swab in VTM or dry swab) and how quickly the TAT was indicated for a given patient using a colored-dot sticker system. Priority TAT in decreasing order was symptomatic inpatients, asymptomatic pre- procedure patients, asymptomatic admissions, symptomatic employees, and symptomatic outpatients.
Conclusion
An algorithm for respiratory pathogen testing during an unprecedented respiratory season prioritizes result TAT to an individual patient’s clinical situation while maximizing laboratory stewardship by eliminating redundant influenza testing and requiring ‘all upfront’ orders to avoid add-on orders that require ‘dumpster diving’ for samples. Limitations include inherent differences in sensitivity, LOD, and specificity when multiple different platforms are utilized to detect the same analytes.

Abstract
Composite multiferroics containing ferroelectric and ferromagnetic components often have much larger magnetoelectric coupling compared to their single-phase counterparts. Doped or alloyed HfO2-based ferroelectrics may serve as a promising component in composite multiferroic structures potentially feasible for technological applications. Recently, a strong charge-mediated magnetoelectric coupling at the Ni/HfO2 interface has been predicted using density functional theory calculations. Here, we report on the experimental evidence of such magnetoelectric coupling at the Ni/Hf0.5Zr0.5O2(HZO) interface. Using a combination of operando XAS/XMCD and HAXPES/MCDAD techniques, we probe element-selectively the local magnetic properties at the Ni/HZO interface in functional Au/Co/Ni/HZO/W capacitors and demonstrate clear evidence of the ferroelectric polarization effect on the magnetic response of a nanometer-thick Ni marker layer. The observed magnetoelectric effect and the electronic band lineup of the Ni/HZO interface are interpreted based on the results of our theoretical modeling. It elucidates the critical role of an ultrathin NiO interlayer, which controls the sign of the magnetoelectric effect as well as provides a realistic band offset at the Ni/HZO interface, in agreement with the experiment. Our results hold promise for the use of ferroelectric HfO2-based composite multiferroics for the design of multifunctional devices compatible with modern semiconductor technology.

Abstract
Qira black sheep is a famous indigenous sheep breed in China. The objectives of this study are to identify candidate genes related to body size, and to estimate the level of inbreeding depression on body size based on runs of homozygosity in Qira black sheep. Here, 188 adult Qira black sheep were genotyped with a high density (630 K) SNP chip and genome-wide association study for body weight and body size traits (including withers height, body slanting length, tail length, chest girth, chest width, and chest depth) were performed using an additive linear model. In consequence, 12 genome- and chromosome-wide significant SNPs and, accordingly, six candidate genes involved in muscle differentiation, metabolism and cell processes were identified. Of them, ZNF704 (zinc finger protein 704) was identified for body weight; AK2 (adenylate kinase 2) and PARK2 (parkin RBR E3 ubiquitin protein ligase) for tail length; MOCOS (molybdenum cofactor sulfurase) and ELP2 (elongator acetyltransferase complex subunit 2) for chest width; and MFAP1 (microfibril associated protein 1) for chest girth. Additionally, inbreeding depressions on body size were observed in the current herd. These results will provide insightful understandings into the genetic mechanisms of adult body size, and into the conservation and utilization of Qira black sheep.

Abstract
Litter size is one of the most important reproductive traits of sheep, which has pronounced effects on the profit of husbandry enterprises and enthusiasm of breeders. Despite the importance of litter size, the underlying genetic mechanisms have not been entirely elucidated. Therefore, based on a high-density SNP chip, genome-wide comparative analysis was performed between two groups with different fecundity to reveal candidate genes linked to litter size via detection of homozygosity and selection signatures in Luzhong mutton sheep. Consequently, nine promising genes were identified from six runs of homozygosity islands, and functionally linked to reproduction (ACTL7A, ACTL7B, and ELP1), embryonic development (KLF5 and PIBF1), and cell cycle (DACH1, BORA, DIS3, and MZT1). A total of 128 genes were observed under selection, of which HECW1 and HTR1E were related to total lambs born, GABRG3, LRP1B, and MACROD2 to teat number, and AGBL1 to reproductive seasonality. Additionally, the presence of inbreeding depression implies the urgency of reasonable mating system to increase litter size in the present herd. These findings provide a comprehensive insight to the genetic makeup of litter size, and also contribute to implementation of marker-assisted selection in sheep.

Objective: To evaluate the safety and efficacy of transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) with domestic prostheses in patients with severely stenotic bicuspid aortic valve (BAV). Methods: This study was a prospective single-center non-randomized controlled study. Patients with symptomatic severe aortic stenosis (AS), who underwent TAVR with domestic prostheses at the First Affiliated Hospital of Air Force Medical University from January 2016 to April 2020 were consecutively included in our study. Patients were divided into BAV group and tricuspid aortic valve (TAV) group according to the aortic valve morphology. Baseline characteristics, procedural outcomes were compared between the two groups, and the primary endpoint was one-month all-cause mortality. Results: A total of 100 patients aged (69.8±8.9) years were enrolled, including 71 (71%) males. There were 51 cases in BAV group and 49 cases in TAV group. Compared with TAV group, patient in the BAV group was younger ((67.1±8.6) years vs. (72.7±8.4) years, P=0.002) and had larger ascending aortic diameter at proximal part ((39.7±5.7) mm vs. (36.0±4.2) mm, P<0.001), lower Society of Thoracic Surgeons-Predicted Risk of Mortality (STS-PROM) score (3.1 (1.9, 5.4) % vs. 5.9 (2.6, 12.3) %, P=0.002). In BAV group and TAV group, the incidence of 2nd prosthesis implantation was 15.7% (8/51) and 18.4% (9/49) (P=0.721), the incidence of moderate or severe paravalvular regurgitation was 2.0% (1/51) and 0 (P=1.000), the rate of device success was 82.4% (42/51) and 81.6% (40/49) (P=0.925), respectively. One-month all-cause mortality was 2.0% (1/51) and 10.2% (5/49) (P=0.108), respectively. Echocardiography showed that postprocedural mean pressure gradient (PGmean) was higher in the BAV group (13.0 (10.0, 16.0) mmHg vs. 9.0 (7.0, 14.0) mmHg, P=0.003) (1 mmHg=0.133 kPa), but the PGmean decrease post procedure as compared with that before TAVR was similar between the two groups ((36.7±16.6) mmHg vs. (36.2±17.5) mmHg, P=0.893). Conclusion: Favorable safety and efficacy are evidenced in patients with severely stenotic BAV undergoing TAVR with domestic prostheses.

Abstract
Although the phenomenon of tunneling has been known since the advent of quantum mechanics, it continues to enrich our understanding of many fields of science. Commonly, this effect is described in terms of electrons traversing the potential barrier that exceeds their kinetic energy due to the wave nature of electrons. This picture of electron tunneling fails, however, for tunnel junctions, where the Fermi energy lies sufficiently close to the insulator valence band, in which case, hole tunneling dominates. We demonstrate the deterministic control of electron and hole tunneling in interface-engineered Pt/BaTiO3/La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 ferroelectric tunnel junctions by reversal of tunneling electroresistance. Our electrical measurements, electron microscopy and spectroscopy characterization, and theoretical modeling unambiguously point out to electron or hole tunneling regimes depending on interface termination. The interface control of the tunneling regime offers designed functionalities of electronic devices.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is one of the most representative diabetic microangiopathy complications. So far, there have been no satisfactory therapeutic strategies, and the injection of stem cells provides a target for DN therapy. PATIENTS AND METHODS Urine-derived stem cells (USCs) were obtained from 9 healthy men. 24 mice were randomly and equally divided into control group, DN model group, DN+hUSC group (treated with USCs for 3 times). Hematoxylin-eosin (HE) and Masson staining were used to detect histological changes of kidney injury. Creatinine and blood urea nitrogen (BUN) were measured to assess renal function. Besides, myofibroblast accumulation, macrophage infiltration, cell proliferation, and oxidative stress were detected by immunohistochemical analysis. RESULTS Compared with DN model group, DN+hUSC group showed lower function loss, cell infiltration, and oxidative stress, as well as less renal fibrosis, histological damage, and cell proliferation. CONCLUSIONS USC can alleviate inflammation and oxidative stress, reduce renal interstitial fibrosis, improve renal tissue structure and protect renal function through paracrine effect.

Abstract
High-quality genetic maps play important roles in QTL mapping and molecular marker-assisted breeding. Tea leaves are not only important vegetative organs but are also the organ for harvest with important economic value. However, the key genes and genetic mechanism of regulating leaf area have not been clarified. In this study, we performed whole-genome resequencing on "Jinxuan," "Yuncha 1" and their 96 F1 hybrid offspring. From the 1.84 Tb of original sequencing data, abundant genetic variation loci were identified, including 28,144,625 SNPs and 2,780,380 indels. By integrating the markers of a previously reported genetic map, a high-density genetic map consisting of 15 linkage groups including 8,956 high-quality SNPs was constructed. The total length of the genetic map is 1,490.81 cM, which shows good collinearity with the genome. A total of 25 representative markers (potential QTLs) related to leaf area were identified, and there were genes differentially expressed in large and small leaf samples near these markers. GWAS analysis further verified the reliability of QTL mapping. Thirty-one pairs of newly developed indel markers located near these potential QTLs showed high polymorphism and had good discrimination between large and small leaf tea plant samples. Our research will provide necessary support and new insights for tea plant genetic breeding, quantitative trait mapping and yield improvement.

Abstract
The purification of parasite-infected erythrocytes from whole blood containing leucocytes is crucial for many downstream genetic and molecular assays in parasitology. Current methodologies to achieve this are often costly and time consuming. Here, we demonstrate the successful application of a cheap and simple Non-Woven Fabric (NWF) filter for the purification of parasitized red blood cells from whole blood. NWF filtration was applied to the malaria-parasitized blood of three strains of mice, and one strain of rat, and to Babesia gibsoni parasitized dog blood. Before and after filtration, the white blood cell (WBC) removal rates and red blood cell (RBC) recovery rates were measured. After NWF filter treatment of rodent malaria-infected blood, the WBC removal rates and RBC recovery rates were, for Kunming mice: 99.51%±0.30% and 86.12%±8.37%; for BALB/C mice: 99.61%±0.15% and 80.74%±7.11%; for C57 mice: 99.71%±0.12% and 84.87%±3.83%; for Sprague-Dawley rats: 99.93%±0.03% and 83.30%±2.96%. Microscopy showed WBCs were efficiently removed from infected dog blood samples, and there was no obvious morphological change of B. gibsoni parasites. NWF filters efficiently remove leukocytes from malaria parasite-infected mouse and rat blood, and are also suitable for filtration of B. gibsoni-infected dog blood.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the distribution and intensity of noise and ultraviolet radiation of welding posts in a refrigeration equipment manufacturing enterprise, in conjunction with the health status of welding workers, providing scientific evidence for the prevention and control of occupational diseases in this type of post. Methods: In May 2019, a cross-sectional survey method was used to select 576 welding workers in the pressure vessel workshop and the unit assembly workshop of a refrigeration complete equipment manufacturer from 2016 to 2018 as the research objects. The occupational hygiene survey and occupational hazard factor measurement were carried out in the workplace, and the measurement data and occupational health examination results were statistically analyzed. Results: The over standard rate of individual Lex in pressure vessel workshop was 82.2% (37/45) . Compared with the unit assembly workshop, the individual Lex of welding workers in pressure vessel workshop was higher than that in unit assembly workshop (t=13.43, P= 0.00) ; the effective irradiance exceeding rate of welding workers in pressure vessel workshop and unit assembly workshop was 33.3% (4/12) and 25.0% (3/12) , The meacurement of ovradiation in the moskment the occupational exposure limit. The deaf rate and hearing loss rate in pressure vessel workshop were 1.5% (5/336) 20.5% (69/336) , respectively, significantly higher than that in umit assembly workshop (P<0.05) . The detection rate of hearing loss of pressure vessel workshop workers increased year by year, and the difference was statistically significant (χ(2trend)=22.42, P<0.01) ; compared with the unit assembly workshop from 2016 to 2018, the detection rates of lens opacity, corneal cloudiness and hearing loss of pressure vessel workshop workers were statistically significant (χ(2)=9.45, 14.80, 55.99, P<0.01) . Conclusion: Welding workers exposed to noise and ultraviolet radiation are easy to be ignored. The enterprise management department should attach great importance to it and take comprehensive measures to protect the health of welding workers.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To investigate the independent risk factors for cervical lymph node metastasis (CLNM) in patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) and establish a prediction model via conventional ultrasound (US) and contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS). METHODS A total of 275 patients with single PTC, who were admitted to our hospital from January 2016 to December 2018, were enrolled in this study. The clinical characteristics and features of the tumor on conventional US and CEUS were retrospectively analyzed. A binary logistic regression model was established, and the diagnostic efficacy of conventional US and CEUS was compared. RESULTS The binary logistic regression analysis showed that age younger than 38 years, size of 10.0 mm or greater, solid composition, peak of the nodule interior of 28.3750 or greater, and area under the curve (AUC) of the peripheral ring of less than 3.2500 were independent risk factors of CLNM (P < .05, for all). Prediction model: Logit (p) = -4.135 + 1.040 (age) + 1.920 (size) + 1.769 (composition) + 1.230 (peak of nodule interior) + 0.812 (AUC of peripheral ring). The model positively predicted CLNM at a value of L > -0.199. The AUC, sensitivity, and negative predictive value of the receiver operating characteristic curve for the model were 0.727, 71.7%, and 75.2%, respectively, which were significantly higher than those of conventional US (Z = -2.403; P = .016; Z = -5.330; P < .001; and Z = -2.390; P = .017). The specificity of the model was 73.7%, which was lower than that of conventional US (Z = 3.508; P < .001). CONCLUSIONS The preoperative prediction model established via conventional US and CEUS may be helpful to evaluate CLNM in patients with PTC and determine the appropriate treatment options.

Abstract
Intensive artificial selection has been imposed in Yunshang black goats, the first black specialist mutton goat breed in China, with a breeding object of improving reproductive performance, which has contributed to reshaping of the genome including the characterization of SNP, ROH and haplotype. However, variation in reproductive ability exists in the present population. A WGS was implemented in two subpopulations (polytocous group, PG, and monotocous group, MG) with evident differences of litter size. Following the mapping to reference genome, and SNP calling and pruning, three approaches - GWAS, ROH analysis and detection of signatures of selection - were employed to unveil candidate genes responsible for litter size. Consequently, 12 candidate genes containing OSBPL8 with the minimum P-value were uncovered by GWAS. Differences were observed in the pattern of ROH between two subpopulations that shared similar low inbreeding coefficients. Two ROH hotspots and 12 corresponding genes emerged from ROH pool association analysis. Based on the nSL statistic, 15 and 61 promising genes were disclosed under selection for MG and PG respectively. Of them, some promising genes participate in ovarian function (PPP2R5C, CDC25A, ESR1, RPS26 and SERPINBs), seasonal reproduction (DIO3, BTG1 and CRYM) and metabolism (OSBPL8, SLC39A5 and SERPINBs). Our study pinpointed some novel promising genes influencing litter size, provided a comprehensive insight into genetic makeup of litter size and might facilitate selective breeding in goats.
