Abstract
BACKGROUND Several studies have suggested an association between major depressive disorder (MDD) and abnormal brain structure. However, it is unclear whether MDD affects cortical gray matter volume, a common indicator of cognitive function. We aimed to determine whether MDD was associated with decreased cortical gray matter volume (GMV) through a Mendelian randomization (MR) study. METHODS We obtained summary genetic data from a study conducted by the Psychiatric Genomics Consortium, which recruited a total of 480,359 participants (135,458 cases and 344,901 controls). Genetic tools-single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs)-of MDD were extracted from the study and their effects on gray matter volumes of the cortex and total brain were evaluated in a large cohort from the UK Biobank (n = 8427). The effects of the SNPs were pooled using inverse variance weighted (IVW) analysis and further tested in several sensitivity analyses. We tested whether C-reactive protein (CRP) levels and interleukin-6 signaling were the mediators of the effects using a multivariate MR model. RESULTS Thirty-three SNPs were identified and adopted as genetic tools for predicting MDD. IVW analysis showed that MDD was associated with lower overall GMV (beta value -0.106, 95%CI -0.188 to -0.023, p = 0.011) in the frontal pole (left frontal pole, -0.152, 95%CI -0.177 to -0.127, p = 0.013; right frontal pole, -0.133, 95%CI -0.253 to -0.013, p = 0.028). Multivariate and mediation analysis showed that interleukin-6 was an important mediator of GMV reduction. Reverse causality analysis found no evidence that total GMV affected the risk of MDD, but showed that increased left precuneus cortex volume and left posterior cingulate cortex volume were associated with increased risk of MDD. LIMITATIONS Potential pleiotropic effects and overestimation of real-world effects. Key assumptions for MR analysis may not be satisfactorily met. CONCLUSION MDD was associated with a reduced GMV, and interleukin-6 might be a mediator of GMV reduction.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a common condition that is characterized by metabolic impairments. Exercise therapy has proven effective in improving the physiological and psychological states of patients with T2DM; however, the influence of different exercise modalities on metabolic profiles is not fully understood. This study first aimed to investigate the metabolic changes associated with T2DM among patients and then to evaluate the potential physiological effects of different exercise modalities (Tai Chi and brisk walking) on their metabolic profiles. METHODS This study included 20 T2DM patients and 11 healthy subjects. Patients were randomly allocated to either the Tai Chi or walking group to perform Dijia simplified 24-form Tai Chi or brisk walking (80-100 m/min), with 90 minutes each time, three times per week for 12 weeks, for a total of 36 sessions. The healthy group maintained daily living habits without intervention. Glycemic tests were conducted at the baseline and after 12 weeks. Serum and urine samples were collected for untargeted metabolomic analyses at baseline and 12 weeks to examine the differential metabolic profiles between T2DM and healthy subjects, and the metabolic alterations of T2DM patients before and after exercise therapy. RESULTS Compared to the healthy group, T2DM patients exhibited metabolic disturbances in carbohydrates (fructose, mannose, galactose, glycolysis/gluconeogenesis), lipids (inositol phosphate), and amino acids (arginine, proline, cysteine, methionine, valine, leucine, and isoleucine) metabolism, including 20 differential metabolites in the serum and six in the urine. After exercise, the glycemic results showed insignificant changes. However, patients who practiced Tai Chi showed significant improvements in their post-treatment metabolic profiles compared to baseline, with nine serum and six urine metabolites, including branch-chained amino acids (BCAAs); while those in the walking group had significantly altered nine serum and four urine metabolites concerning steroid hormone biosynthesis and arachidonic acid metabolism compared to baseline. CONCLUSION T2DM patients displayed impaired carbohydrate, lipid, and amino acid metabolism, and exercise therapy improved their metabolic health. Different modalities may act through different pathways. Tai Chi may improve disrupted BCAAs metabolism, whereas brisk walking mainly regulates steroid hormone biosynthesis and arachidonic acid metabolism.

Abstract
Pyroptosis is a newly discovered kind of cell death modality that, due to its association with innate immunity, plays a crucial role in cytolysis and inflammatory cytokine release during host defense against infection. In recent years, studies have shown that pyroptosis plays an important role in the occurrence and development of liver diseases. This article introduces and elaborates on the most recent research progress on pyroptosis in liver diseases based on the morphological features, molecular and pathophysiological mechanisms.

Abstract
Background Cognitive impairment is prevalent in Chinese patients with hypertension; however, current evidence on prevalence and risk factors is required to be synthesized. Objectives This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the prevalence and risk factors of cognitive impairment in Chinese patients with hypertension. Methods Two reviewers independently searched PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, The Cochrane Library, CNKI, CBM, the Wanfang database, and the VIP database from their inception to 7 June 2023. The gray literature and the reference lists of the included studies were also retrieved manually. Moreover, we also independently performed the eligibility screening, data extraction, and data synthesis. The primary outcome was the prevalence of cognitive impairment in Chinese patients with hypertension, and the secondary outcomes were the risk factors for cognitive impairment in patients with hypertension. R (version 4.0.3) was used for data synthesis. Results In total, 82 studies involving 53,623 patients with hypertension were included in this meta-analysis. The pooled prevalence of cognitive impairment in patients with hypertension was 37.6% (95% CI: 33.2-42.2%). A total of 12 risk factors, including advanced age (r = -0.34, 95% CI: -0.45, -0.21), female sex (OR = 1.15, 95% CI: 1.01-1.32), BMI > 24 Kg/m2 (OR = 1.76, 95% CI: 1.04-3.00), lower educational level (OR = 2.01, 95% CI: 1.10-3.67), single status (OR = 1.63, 95% CI: 1.32-2.02), complications with diabetes (OR = 1.44, 95% CI: 1.14-1.80), coronary heart disease (OR = 1.49, 95% CI: 1.12-1.97), higher stage of hypertension [stage 3 vs. stage 1, OR = 3.08, 95% CI: 1.82-5.22; stage 2 vs. stage 1, OR = 1.83, 95% CI: 1.29-2.60], no regular physical activity (OR = 0.40, 95% CI: 0.21-0.77), higher levels of systolic blood pressure (r = -0.25, 95% CI: -0.42, -0.08), Hcy (r = -0.39, 95% CI: -0.63, -0.09), and IL-6 (r = -0.26, 95% CI: -0.48, -0.02) were detected. Conclusion Cognitive impairment is prevalent in Chinese patients with hypertension, and the increased prevalence was associated with several demographic characteristics, complicated disease, no regular physical activity, worse hypertension status (higher stages and SBP), and high levels of biomarkers. Therefore, more attention should be paid to the early identification and treatment of patients with hypertension who are at high risk for cognitive impairment in clinical practice. In addition, relevant risk factors should be controlled to reduce the incidence of cognitive impairment. Abstract
Objective To systematically summarize current evidence and determine the clinical effectiveness and safety of Tai Chi for type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in adults by conducting an overview of systematic reviews (SRs). Methods A systematic search encompassing five electronic databases was conducted until July 30, 2023, to identify relevant systematic reviews (SRs) based on randomized controlled trials (RCTs) concerning Tai Chi for T2DM. The methodological quality of the included SRs was assessed using the A MeaSurement Tool to Assess systematic Reviews (AMSTAR 2) and the Risk of Bias in Systematic Reviews (ROBIS) tool. The Preferred Reporting Items for Overview of Systematic Review (PRIO-harms) checklist was used to promote a more balanced reporting of benefits and harms in this overview. Corrected covered area (CCA) was used to calculate the degree of overlapping primary studies. Primary outcome measures were glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) and fasting blood glucose (FBG), while secondary outcomes encompassed health-related quality measures. The GRADE (Grades of Recommendations, Assessment, Development, and Evaluation) framework was utilized to assess the quality of evidence for the outcome measures. Results A total of 17 eligible SRs were included in this overview. One SR reported negative conclusions, while the remaining 16 reported positive ones on different outcomes. A total of 4 SRs reported adverse events, either absent or minor. Most of the SRs exhibited critically low quality (15/17) and a high risk of bias (14/17), as indicated by AMSTAR2 and ROBIS, respectively. The CCA was 12.14%, indicating a high degree of primary study overlapping. Evidence from 135 results for 24 outcomes concerning Tai Chi for T2DM was evaluated using the GRADE approach, most of which were rated very low. Conclusion Tai Chi shows promise as a potentially effective and safe lifestyle intervention for adults with T2DM, particularly in improving HbA1c, FBG, BMI, and overall quality of life (QoL). However, these results should be cautiously interpreted due to methodological flaws observed in the current SRs and the low quality of the SRs based on GRADE. Furthermore, there is a compelling need for additional well-designed, high-quality RCTs and SRs to establish robust and conclusive evidence regarding the efficacy of Tai Chi for managing T2DM in the future. Abstract
BACKGROUND Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a common skin disease that is hard to completely cure in a short time. Guidelines recommend the use of topical corticosteroids (TCS) as first-line anti-inflammatory therapy for AD, but long-term use has significant side effects. Microecological agents (MA), including probiotics, prebiotics and synbiotics, have been widely reported as a potential adjunctive therapy of AD, but whether MA can contribute to AD treatment is currently controversial. Therefore, we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to investigate whether MA as an add-on therapy for AD has synergistic and attenuated effects and to further understand the role of MA in clinical interventions for AD. METHODS We systematically searched Medline, Embase, Web of Science, Cochrane Library and PsycINFO databases up to Apr 11, 2023, and bibliographies were also manually searched, for potentially relevant studies regarding MA as additional therapy of AD. The Cochrane Risk of Bias Tool for assessing risk of bias was used to assess the quality of randomized controlled trials (RCTs). Two reviewers screened studies, extracted data, and evaluated the risk of bias independently. The primary outcomes (SCORAD scores and the number of adverse events) and the secondary outcomes (pruritus scores, the quality of life and the frequency of TCS) were extracted from each article. The data were combined and analyzed to quantify the safety and efficacy of the treatment. R (V4.4.3) software was used for data synthesis. The certainty of the evidence was evaluated with the Grade of Recommendation, Assessment, Development and Evaluation (GRADE) system. We also performed a trial sequential analysis to assess the reliability of the evidence. RESULTS A total of 21 studies, including 1230 individuals, were identified, 20 of which met the eligibility criteria for the meta-analysis. Our pooled meta-analyses showed that compared with controls, oral MA as an add-on therapy was associated with significantly lower SCORAD scores (MD = -5.30, 95% CI -8.50, -1.55, p < 0.01, I2 = 81%). However, adverse events, pruritus scores, quality of life, and frequency of TCS use showed no significant difference in this meta-analysis study (p > 0.05). CONCLUSIONS This meta-analysis showed that MA plus TCS could be an effective and safe treatment for patients with AD to relieve relevant symptoms, which might be used as an add-on therapy in the treatment of AD. However, due to the limited number of studies, results should be interpreted with caution. Further studies with a larger sample size are needed to explore the optimal protocol of MA plus TCS.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) Pre-treatment lymphopenia prior to initiating treatment has been correlated with reduced survival in a number of different cancers. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the association between lymphopenia and survival in women with locally advanced cervical cancer (LACC) treated with primary chemoradiation (CRT). MATERIALS/METHODS We retrospectively reviewed patients with LACC treated at a single institution from 2005 - 2021 with available lymphocyte information. Patient and treatment characteristics were recorded including age, tumor size and stage, EBRT dose/fractionation, and brachytherapy dosimetry data. Absolute lymphocyte counts (ALC) were collected prior to initiating CRT and at 3-month intervals following CRT and graded based on severity of lymphopenia using CTCAE v 5.0. Overall survival (OS), progression free survival (PFS), and local control (LC) were calculated from the start of treatment to date of last follow-up. Kaplan-Meier survival analysis was performed to evaluate whether lymphocyte changes were associated with OS, PFS, or LC. RESULTS A total of 124 patients met study inclusion criteria with stage IB - IV disease (41 stage I, 41 stage II, 36 stage III, 6 stage IV) and a median follow up of 3.6 years (range 0.2-16.5 years). The median age was 49 years (range 26-77). The median EBRT dose was 45 Gy (range: 26-57.5 Gy) and 44.2% of patients received para-aortic (PA) nodal EBRT (28.8% elective and 15.4% with positive PA nodes). 5-year OS, PFS, and LC were 60.3% (95% CI 51.5-70.7), 47.5% (95% CI 39-58), and 75.5% (95% CI 67.3-82.9), respectively. Pre-treatment lymphopenia (ALC <1000 cells/mm3) was present in 11 (9%) patients. When the total cohort was divided into patients with and without pre-treatment lymphopenia, OS was statistically improved in the patients without baseline lymphopenia, with a 5-year OS of 63.2% (95% CI 53.9-73.9) versus 35.3% (95% CI 14.5-86.3) in the lymphopenia group (p = 0.034). LC also trended to being improved in the patients without lymphopenia, though this did not reach statistical significance in our small sample size of lymphopenic patients, with 5-year LC of 76.8% (95% CI 68.4-84.3) versus 67.5% (05% CI 36.6-93.8), p = 0.45. CONCLUSION In this single institution experience of LACC treated with definitive CRT, we found that baseline lymphopenia is associated with inferior OS. Patients with higher pre-CRT ALC may represent a population with more robust immune systems, producing more favorable tumor responses to treatment. Additional studies are warranted to investigate the evolving role of combined EBRT and systemic therapy in LACC.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) In 2020, the Canadian Association of Radiation Oncology (CARO) Medical Student Research and Mentorship Award (CARO MSRMA) was created to support medical students pursuing radiation oncology (RO) research and RO as a career. This study aims to evaluate the impact of three consecutive years of this award on medical students, RO resident mentors, and research supervisors. MATERIALS/METHODS Medical student mentees, resident mentors, and staff RO research supervisors who participated in one of three iterations of CARO MSRMA (2020-2022 inclusive) were identified. Three separate surveys were developed for these groups using best practice strategies for medical education surveys and circulated for peer-review amongst experts in oncology medical education. The surveys were sent to 52 participants: 18 medical students (Group 1), 18 RO resident mentors (Group 2), and 16 attending RO supervisors (Group 3). After anonymization, quantitative answers were analyzed using descriptive statistics and narrative responses were evaluated using a grounded theory approach. RESULTS Survey response rate was 92% (48/52). For Group 1, the award maintained (71%) or increased interest in pursuing an RO career (24%). Aspects of the award rated most important were: financial support to attend the CARO Annual Scientific Meeting (mean rating 4.8/5) and mentorship with an RO resident (mean rating 4.6/5). Through mentorship, 60% of students obtained valuable information about a career in RO, 60% reported helpful residency matching (CaRMS) advice, and another 60% attained insight into RO residency. For Group 2 respondents, 100% felt the program either maintained or increased their motivation to mentor students in RO. For Group 3, 100% agreed or strongly agreed that they enjoyed their role as a supervisor, would participate in the program again, and would recommend the opportunity to others. All three Groups agreed or strongly agreed that it would be useful for CARO to create a virtual network of radiation oncologists, residents, and medical students to share and access shadowing and research opportunities to encourage national RO exposure and collaboration. The first cohort of medical student awardees has CaRMS matching results, with approximately 50% matching to RO. CONCLUSION A national conference-associated medical student research and mentorship award has had a positive impact on all three populations involved: medical students in motivation to continue pursuing RO research and career opportunities, RO resident mentors in enhancing mentorship skills, and attending supervisors in inspiring the next generation of prospective RO colleagues. Further research is recommended to determine the impact of the award on subsequent Residency Specialty matching, and whether expansion of this award to other opportunities may be beneficial.

Abstract
Objective: To explore disease characteristics of primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and compare the differences between PSC with and without IBD. Methods: Study design was cross sectional. Forty-two patients with PSC who were admitted from January 2000 to January 2021 were included. We analyzed their demographic characteristics, clinical manifestations, concomitant diseases, auxiliary examination, and treatment. Results: The 42 patients were 11-74(43±18) years of age at diagnosis. The concordance rate of PSC with IBD was 33.3%, and the age at PSC with IBD diagnosis was 12-63(42±17) years. PSC patients with IBD had higher incidences of diarrhea and lower incidences of jaundice and fatigue than in those without IBD (all P<0.05). Alanine aminotransferase, total bilirubin, direct bilirubin, total bile acid and carbohydrate antigen 19-9 levels were higher in PSC patients without IBD than in those with IBD (all P<0.05). The positive rates for antinuclear antibodies and fecal occult blood were higher in PSC patients with IBD than in those without IBD (all P<0.05). Patients with PSC complicated with ulcerative colitis mainly experienced extensive colonic involvement. The proportion of 5-aminosalicylic acid and glucocorticoid application in PSC patients with IBD was significantly increased compared with that of PSC patients without IBD (P=0.025). Conclusions: The concordance rate of PSC with IBD is lower at Peking Union Medical College Hospital than in Western countries. Colonoscopy screening may benefit PSC patients with diarrhea or fecal occult blood-positive for early detection and diagnosis of IBD.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Standard doses of second-generation H1-antihistamines (sgAHs) as first-line treatment are not always effective in treating chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU), and hence an increase in the dose of sgAHs is recommended. However, literature evaluating the efficacy and safety of this treatment remains inconclusive, highlighting the need for a systematic review and meta-analysis. The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of high-dose sgAHs compared with standard-dose sgAHs in treating CSU. METHODS A systematic literature search of double-blind, randomized controlled trials (RCT) utilizing multiple doses of sgAHs was performed by searching the electronic databases Medline, Embase, PsycInfo, Cochrane databases, and Web of Science. Bibliographies were also manually searched. The Cochrane Risk of Bias Tool for assessing risk of bias was used to assess the quality of randomized controlled trials (RCTs). Two reviewers screened studies, extracted data, and evaluated the risk of bias independently. The response rate, the number of adverse events, somnolence, and withdrawal due to adverse events were extracted from each article. The data were combined and analyzed to quantify the safety and efficacy of the treatment. RevMan (V5.3) software was used for data synthesis. RESULTS A total of 13 studies were identified, seven of which met the eligibility criteria for the meta-analysis. Our pooled meta-analyses showed that high-dose sgAHs was associated with a significantly higher response rate than standard-dose (RR 1.13, 95% CI 1.02 to 1.26; P = 0.02). Conversely, high doses of sgAHs were associated with significantly higher somnolence rates than standard dose (RD 0.05, 95% CI 0.01 to 0.09; P = 0.02). There was no significant difference in adverse events or withdrawal due to adverse events between standard- and high-dose treatments. CONCLUSIONS Our analyses showed that a high dose of sgAHs (up to two times the standard dose) might be more effective than a standard dose in CSU treatment. High-dose and standard-dose sgAHs showed similar adverse events, except for somnolence, where incidence was found to be dose-dependent in some studies. However, given the limited number of studies, our meta-analysis results should be interpreted with caution.

Abstract
Short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) are metabolites of gut microbes that can modulate the host inflammatory response, and contribute to health and homeostasis. Since the introduction of the gut-skin axis concept, the link between SCFAs and inflammatory skin diseases has attracted considerable attention. In this review, we have summarized the literature on the role of SCFAs in skin inflammation, and the correlation between SCFAs and inflammatory skin diseases, especially atopic dermatitis, urticaria, and psoriasis. Studies show that SCFAs are signaling factors in the gut-skin axis and can alleviate skin inflammation. The information presented in this review provides new insights into the molecular mechanisms driving gut-skin axis regulation, along with possible pathways that can be targeted for the treatment and prevention of inflammatory skin diseases.

Abstract
Background Due to motor function insufficiency, patients with post-stroke motor dysfunction (PSMD) have limitations in performing an activity, feel restricted during social participation, and feel impaired in their quality of life. Constraint-induced movement therapy (CIMT) is a neurorehabilitation technique, but its effectiveness on PSMD after stroke still remains controversial. Objective This meta-analysis and trial sequential analysis (TSA) aimed to comprehensively evaluate the effect and safety of CIMT for PSMD. Methods Four electronic databases were searched from their inception to 1 January 2023 to identify randomized controlled trials (RCTs) investigating the effectiveness of CIMT for PSMD. Two reviewers independently extracted the data and assessed the risk of bias and reporting quality. The primary outcome was a motor activity log for the amount of use (MAL-AOU) and the quality of movement (MAL-QOM). RevMan 5.4, Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) 25.0, and STATA 13.0 software were used for statistical analysis. The certainty of the evidence was appraised using the Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) system. We also performed the TSA to assess the reliability of the evidence. Results A total of 44 eligible RCTs were included. Our results showed that CIMT combined with conventional rehabilitation (CR) was superior to CR in improving MAL-AOU and MAL-QOM scores. The results of TSA indicated that the above evidence was reliable. Subgroup analysis demonstrated that CIMT (≥6 h per day or duration ≤ 20 days) combined with CR was more effective than CR. Meanwhile, both CIMT and modified CIMT (mCIMT) combined with CR were more efficient than CR at all stages of stroke. No severe CIMT-related adverse events occurred. Conclusion CIMT may be an optional and safe rehabilitation therapy to improve PSMD. However, due to limited studies, the optimal protocol of CIMT for PSMD was undetermined, and more RCTs are required for further exploration. Abstract
Background The evidence for the effectiveness of acupuncture for patients with carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is insufficient. Therefore, this systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of acupuncture on CTS through a comprehensive literature search. Methods English and Chinese databases were searched from their inceptions until 27 October 2022 to collect randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that investigated the effect of acupuncture on CTS. Two reviewers independently selected studies that met the eligibility criteria, extracted the required data, assessed the risk of bias using version 2 of the Cochrane risk-of-bias tool for randomized trials (ROB 2), and evaluated the quality of reporting for acupuncture interventions using the Revised Standards for Reporting Interventions in Clinical Trials of Acupuncture (STRICTA). The primary outcomes were symptom severity and functional status, while secondary outcomes included pain intensity, responder rate, and electrophysiological parameters. Review Manager software (version 5.4.1) was used for data analysis. The certainty of the evidence was rated with GRADEpro (version 3.6) software. Results We included 16 RCTs with a total of 1,025 subjects. The overall risk of bias was rated as low in one RCT, some concerns in 14, and high in one. Compared with night splints, acupuncture alone was more effective in relieving pain, but there were no differences in symptom severity and functional status. Acupuncture alone had no advantage over medicine in improving symptom severity and electrophysiological parameters. As an adjunctive treatment, acupuncture might benefit CTS in terms of symptom severity, functional status, pain intensity, and electrophysiological parameters, and it was superior to medicine in improving the above outcomes. Few acupuncture-related adverse events were reported. The above evidence had a low or very low degree of certainty. Conclusion Acupuncture as an adjunctive treatment may be effective for patients with CTS. Additionally, more rigorous studies with objective outcomes are needed to investigate the effect of acupuncture in contrast with sham acupuncture or other active treatments. Abstract
Objective: To understand the detection rate, epidemic pattern of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) in hospitalized children with acute lower respiratory tract infection (ALRTI) in China. Methods: From June 2017 to March 2020, a prospective multi-center study on the viral aetiology among hospitalized children with ALRTI was conducted in six pediatrics hospital of North China, Northeast, Northwest, South China, Southeast, and Southwest China. A total of 2 839 hospitalized children with ALRTI were enrolled, and the respiratory specimens were collected from these cases. A multiplex real-time RT-PCR assay were employed to screen the respiratory viruses, and the molecular epidemiological and clinical characteristics of children infected with RSV were analyzed. Results: The positve rate of RSV was 18.6% (528/2 839), and the positive rate of RSV in different regions ranged from 5.5% to 44.3%. The positive rate of RSV in male was higher than that in female (20.2% vs 16.3%), and there was a significant statistically difference between two groups (χ2=6.74, P=0.009). The positive rate of RSV among children under 5 years old was higher than that among children older than 5 years old (22.3% vs 4.5%), and there was a significant statistically difference between two groups (χ2=97.98,P<0.001). The positive rate of RSV among the <6 months age group was higher than that of other age groups (all P<0.05). During January 2018 and December 2019, RSV was detected in almost all through the year, and showed peaks in winter and spring. RSV-positive cases accounted for 17.0% (46/270) among children with severe pneumonia, including 36 cases infected with RSV alone. Conclusion: RSV is an important viral pathogen in children under 5 years old with ALRTI in China. The virus can be detected almost all through the year and reached the peak in winter and spring. RSV could lead to severe pneumonia in children and caused huge threaten to children's health.

Abstract
To systematically evaluate the effectiveness and safety of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) on spasticity after upper motor neuron (UMN) injury. Eight electronic databases were searched from inception to August 6, 2022. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) investigating the effectiveness and safety of rTMS on spasticity after UMN injury were retrieved. Two reviewers independently screened studies, extracted data, and assessed the risk of bias. Review Manager 5.3 and Stata 14.0 software were used to synthesize data. The certainty of the evidence was appraised with the Grade of Recommendation, Assessment, Development and Evaluation tool. Forty-two studies with a total of 2,108 patients were included. The results of meta-analysis revealed that, compared with control group, rTMS could significantly decrease scores of the Modified Ashworth Scale (MAS) in patients with UMN injury. The subgroup analysis discovered that rTMS effectively decreased the MAS scores in patients with stroke. Meanwhile, rTMS treatment > 10 sessions has better effect and rTMS could decrease the MAS scores of upper limb. Thirty-three patients complained of twitching facial muscles, headache and dizziness, etc. In summary, rTMS could be recommended as an effective and safe therapy to relieve spasticity in patients with UMN injury. However, due to high heterogeneity and limited RCTs, this conclusion should be treated with caution.

Abstract
BackgroundTai Chi may be a promising exercise to prevent and control bone loss in postmenopausal women. This meta-analysis and trial sequential analysis aimed to evaluate the effect and safety of Tai Chi on bone health in postmenopausal women.MethodSeven databases were searched from their inceptions to 11 May 2022 to collect randomized controlled trials (RCTs) investigating the effect and safety of Tai Chi on bone health in postmenopausal women. Two independent reviewers identified the eligible studies, extracted data, and assessed the risk of bias of included studies using the revised Cochrane risk-of-bias tool for randomized trials. The primary outcome was the bone mineral density (BMD), and secondary outcomes included bone turnover markers and calcaneus quantitative ultrasound. Subgroup analyses were conducted based on the duration of Tai Chi. Sensitivity analyses and publication bias assessment were performed. RevMan software (version 5.4.1) and R software (version 3.6.1) were used for data synthesis. The certainty of evidence was rated with the Grading of recommendations assessment, development, and evaluation (GRADE) system. We also performed the trial sequential analysis to evaluate the reliability of the evidence.ResultsA total of 25 reports involving 24 studies were included. Four studies were considered as high overall risk of bias, and the rest were some concerns. Among included studies, there were three comparisons including Tai Chi vs. non-intervention, Tai Chi vs. other exercises, and Tai Chi plus nutraceutical vs. nutraceutical. Compared with non-intervention, Tai Chi was more effective to improve BMD of lumbar spine (MD = 0.04, 95% CI 0.02 to 0.07, I2 = 0%, low certainty), femoral neck (MD = 0.04, 95% CI 0.02 to 0.06, I2 = 0%, low certainty), and trochanter (MD = 0.02, 95% CI 0.00 to 0.03, I2 = 0%, very low certainty), but there was no significant difference in increasing the BMD of Ward's triangle (MD = 0.02, 95% CI −0.01 to 0.04, I2 = 0%, very low certainty). Trial sequential analysis showed that the effect of Tai Chi vs. non-intervention on the BMD of lumbar spine and femoral neck was reliable, but the effect on the BMD of trochanter and Ward's triangle needed further verification. The subgroup analyses suggested that Tai Chi training for over 6 months had greater improvement in BMD of the lumbar spine, femoral neck, and trochanter than non-intervention. No significant differences were observed in the above outcomes of Tai Chi vs. other exercises, and Tai Chi plus nutraceutical vs. nutraceutical. There was insufficient evidence to support the effect of Tai Chi on bone turnover markers and calcaneus quantitative ultrasound. Few Tai Chi relevant adverse events occurred.ConclusionTai Chi may be an optional and safe exercise for improving BMD loss in postmenopausal women, and practicing Tai Chi for more than 6 months may yield greater benefits. Abstract

Methods Nine electronic databases were searched from their inception to 6 June 2022, to identify randomized-controlled trials (RCTs) that investigated the effectiveness and safety of acupuncture for post-stroke spasticity. Two reviewers independently screened the studies, extracted the data, assessed the risk of bias. The reporting quality of interventions in controlled trials of acupuncture was evaluated using Revised Standards for Reporting Interventions in Clinical Trials of Acupuncture (STRICTA). The RevMan 5.4 and R 4.2.0 software were used for statistical analysis. Results A total of 88 eligible studies were included, involving 6,431 individuals. The pooled data demonstrated that acupuncture combined with conventional rehabilitation (CR) was superior to CR in reducing the Modified Ashworth Scale (MAS) score (standardized mean difference [SMD] = -0.73; 95% CI = -0.83 to -0.63; I 2 = 65%; low certainty of evidence). The favorable results were also observed in comparisons of acupuncture vs. CR (SMD = -0.22, 95% CI = -0.36 to -0.07; I 2 = 49%; moderate certainty of evidence). Subgroup analysis showed that acupuncture treatment with a frequency of once or twice a day was more effective than CR. In addition, the antispasmodic effect of acupuncture treatment increased with more sessions. Four studies explicitly reported slight acupuncture-related adverse events. Conclusion Acupuncture could be recommended as adjuvant therapy for spasticity after stroke. However, due to the high risk of bias and heterogeneity of the included studies, the effectiveness of acupuncture for post-stroke spasticity remains to be confirmed.

Abstract
BACKGROUND How to predict the cognitive performance of Alzheimer's disease (AD) and identify the informative neuroimaging markers is essential for timely treatment and possible delay of the disease. However, incomplete labeled samples and noises in neuroimaging data pose challenges to building reliable and robust prediction models. In this paper, we present a model named Low-rank Sparse Feature Selection with Incomplete Labels (LSFSIL) for predicting cognitive performance and identifying informative neuroimaging markers with MRI data and incomplete cognitive scores. METHOD We propose a sparse matrix decomposition method to decompose the incomplete cognitive score matrix into two parts for recovering missing scores and utilizing incomplete labeled data. The former is the recovered cognitive score matrix without missing values. To make the recovered scores close to the real ones, a manifold regularizer is devised to fit the label distribution for capturing the label correlations locally. The latter is a ℓ1-norm regularized matrix which represents the associated errors. Next, a low-rank regression model that regards the recovered matrix as the target is developed to increase the robustness to noises and outliers. Besides, ℓ2,1-norm is introduced into the objective function as a sparse regularization to identify the important features. RESULTS Experimental results demonstrate that LSFSIL achieves higher performance and outperforms several state-of-the-art feature selection approaches. Moreover, the neuroimaging markers selected by LSFSIL are consistent with the previous AD studies. CONCLUSIONS LSFSIL is effective in informative neuroimaging marker identification for cognitive performance prediction with incomplete labeled data.

Abstract
Objective: Exercise is reported to be beneficial for breast cancer. However, the results seem inconsistent. We conducted this systematic review and meta-analysis of animal experimental studies to fully understand the effect of exercise on breast cancer in animal model. Methods: We searched databases from inception to April 2022 and manually searched related references to retrieve eligible studies. We screened eligible studies and extracted related data. We assessed the risk of bias and reporting quality using the SYstematic Review Centre for Laboratory animal Experimentation Risk of Bias tool and the Animal Research: Reporting of In Vivo Experiments guidelines 2.0, respectively. We summarized the study characteristics and findings of included studies and conducted meta-analysis with RevMan software. Subgroup analysis and sensitivity analysis were also performed. Results: We identified 537 potential literatures and included 47 articles for analysis. According to the results of risk of bias assessment, only selective outcome reporting was in low risk of bias. Items of sequence generation, random outcome assessment, and incomplete outcome data were rated as high risk of bias. Most of other items were rated unclear risk of bias. In reporting quality assessment, all included articles reported grouping method and experimental procedures. However, no study provided information of the study protocol registration. Meta-analysis showed that, compared with sedentary lifestyle, exercise reduced more tumor weight (MD = −0.76, 95%CI −0.88 to −0.63, p = 0.85, I2 = 0%) and tumor number per animal (MD = −0.61, 95%CI −0.91 to −0.31, p = 0.34, I2 = 8%). Exercise decreased more tumor incidence than sedentary lifestyle both in motorized wheel/high-intensity (OR = 0.22, 95%CI 0.11 to 0.46, p = 0.09, I2 = 41%) and free wheel/low-intensity treadmill running (OR = 0.45, 95%CI 0.14 to 1.44, p = 0.04, I2 = 60%). Sensitivity analysis showed that the results were robust. Conclusion: Exercise could reduce tumor weight, number of tumors per animal, and incidence of tumor in breast cancer model of mice and rats. However, the risk of bias items and reporting guidelines in preclinical studies should be concerned. Future research should consider standards of conducting and reporting preclinical studies and choose suitable exercise protocol for higher quality evidence of exercise for breast cancer.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effect of China Children's Asthma Action Plan (CCAAP) on the exercise status of school-age children with asthma. Methods: We included 400 school-age asthmatic children as research objects from CCAAP asthma management platform of the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University during March 1, 2018 to February 28, 2021 by simple random sampling method. The questionnaires of basic information and international physical activity were applied through WeChat or face to face investigation to collect the basic information and exercise status of the object. There were 346 valid questionnaires included in the study to compare the differences in exercise status and incidence of exercise-related asthma-like symptoms between the good and poor CCAAP application groups. Results: There were 232 (67.05%) and 114 (32.95%) cases in good and poor CCAAP application group, respectively. Age, female proportion and BMI of good CCAAP application group were (8±2) years, 47.0% (109/232) and (19.79±2.32) kg/m2, respectively, no statistic difference comparing to poor CCAAP application group [(8±2) years, 46.5% (53/114) and (19.87±2.43) kg/m2, respectively] (all P values>0.05). In good CCAAP application group, 30.18% (70/232) achieved the standard of moderate (high) intensity exercise per day, no statistic difference comparing to poor CCAAP application group [29.82% (34/112)] (P=0.947); 31.90% (74/232) participated in high-intensity exercise per week, higher than that of poor CCAAP application group [17.54% (20/112)] (P=0.005); incidence of exercise-related asthma-like symptoms was 19.83% (46/232), lower than that of poor CCAAP application group [29.82% (34/112)] (P=0.038). Conclusion: CCAAP promotes the exercise of school-age children with asthma.

Abstract
Background The prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is increasing in China. Depression in patients with T2DM interferes with blood glucose management, leads to poor treatment outcomes, and has a high risk of dementia and cardiovascular event. We conducted this systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the prevalence of depression in patients with T2DM in China and explore potential risk factors associated with depression in T2DM. Methods We conducted a literature search in MEDLINE/PubMed, EMBASE, the Cochrane Library, the Chinese Biomedical Literature Database (CBM), the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), the Chinese Science and Technology Periodical Database (VIP), and the Wanfang Database from their inception to February 25, 2022 to include population-based, cross-sectional surveys that investigated the prevalence of depression in Chinese T2DM patients and studied possible risk factors. Gray literature and reference lists were also manually searched. We used the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality methodology checklist to assess the risk of bias in the included studies. Two reviewers screened studies, extracted data, and evaluated the risk of bias independently. The primary outcome was the pooled prevalence of depression in Chinese T2DM patients, and the secondary outcomes included potential risk factors for depression in T2DM patients. R (version 3.6.1) and Stata (version 12.0) software were used for data synthesis. Results We included 48 reports that identified 108,678 subjects. Among the included reports, 4 were rated as low risk of bias, 40 moderate risks of bias, and 4 high risks of bias. The prevalence of depression in T2DM patients in China was 25.9% (95% CI 20.6%-31.6%). The prevalence of depression was higher in women (OR = 1.36, 95% CI 1.19-1.54), subjects ≥60 years (OR = 1.56, 95% CI 1.14-2.14), with a primary school or lower education (vs. middle or high school education (OR = 1.49, 95% CI 1.16 - 1.92); vs. college degree or higher education (OR = 1.84, 95% CI 1.16 - 2.92), with a duration of T2DM ≥ 10 years (OR = 1.68, 95% CI 1.11-2.54), with complications (OR = 1.90, 95% CI 1.53-2.36), insulin users (OR = 1.46, 95% CI 1.09-1.96) and individuals living alone (OR = 2.26, 95% CI 1.71-2.98). T2DM patients with current alcohol use had a lower prevalence of depression (OR = 0.70, 95% CI 0.58-0.86). Prevalence varied from 0.8 to 52.6% according to different instruments used to detect depression. Conclusion The prevalence of depression in T2DM patients is remarkable in China. Potential risk factors of depression in T2DM patients included women, age ≥ 60 years, low educational level, complications, duration of diabetes ≥ 10 years, insulin use, and living alone. High-quality epidemiological investigations on the prevalence of depression in Chinese T2DM patients are needed to better understand the status of depression in T2DM. Abstract
This is a protocol for developing a guideline to establish the evidence ecosystem of acupuncture. It describes all steps that will be followed in line with the World Health Organization Handbook for Guideline Development and the Reporting Items for practice Guidelines in Healthcare (RIGHT). The key steps included guideline protocol development, guideline registration, systematic review of acupuncture evidence issues, systematic review of methods for establishing evidence ecosystem, survey of acupuncture stakeholders regarding potential acupuncture evidence issues, development of potential items for guidelines, Delphi method for guideline item development, consensus meeting, drafting guideline, peer review, approval, and publishing. This future guideline will help to establish evidence ecosystem of acupuncture, which will facilitate the application of acupuncture in clinical practice.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the research hot spots and frontiers of molecular mechanisms of exercise on cancer via CiteSpace. Method: Related publications in the Web of Science Core Collection Science Citation Index Expanded were retrieved from inception to November 27th, 2021. Then we used CiteSpace to generate network maps and identify top authors, institutions, countries, keywords, co-cited authors, journals, references and research trends. Results: A total of 1,130 related publications were retrieved. The most productive author and journal were Lee W Jones and PLOS ONE. Hanahan D and Warburg O were the most cited authors. Fudan University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University were the leading institutions, while China was the leading country. Top-cited authors and references generally focused on the epidemiology and hallmarks of cancer. Top five keywords with both high frequency and high betweenness centrality were breast cancer, aerobic glycolysis, oxidative stress, gene expression, skeletal muscle. Keyword “warburg effect” ranked first with the highest citation burst, while “inflammation”, “hepatocellular carcinoma”, “epithelial mesenchymal transition”, and “adipose tissue” were emerging research foci. Conclusion: This study analyzed the research hot spots and frontiers of molecular mechanisms of exercise on cancer via CiteSpace. Based on the results, altered metabolism (aerobic glycolysis, insulin resistance, myokines), oxidative stress, gene expression and apoptosis were hot-research mechanisms of exercise on cancer. Emerging research foci of mechanisms were generally around inflammation, epithelial mesenchymal transition and adipokines. In addition, future studies could carry in-depth research of interactions between different mechanisms and try to elucidate the recommended doses and intensities of exercise for cancer, especially in breast, colorectal, prostate cancer and hepatocellular carcinoma.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Acupuncture has been accepted in many Western countries and clinical trials have been increasing recently. However, the problems of insufficient and low-quality evidence remain, and substantially hinder the development of acupuncture clinical trials. We therefore aim to develop a guideline to strengthen the quality of acupuncture clinical trials, in accordance with WHO handbook for guideline development and the Reporting Items for practice Guidelines in HealThcare. The guideline will help to improve the quality of acupuncture clinical trials. METHODS AND ANALYSIS We will search for studies on the quality of acupuncture clinical trials using PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang Data, China Science and Technology Journal Database, The Cochrane Library, the WHO and Health Technology Assessment websites, and other sources. We will also check reference lists and contact experts in the field. We will systematically evaluate the quality of acupuncture clinical trials, and extract and summarise the quality problems and countermeasures of such trials. We will also systematically review clinical trial quality control manuals and systems and formulate research questions on quality control in acupuncture clinical trials. Finally, we will develop the guideline and establish a comprehensive quality control system to ensure high quality acupuncture clinical trials. We will also evaluate the guideline and will update the guideline to reflect new scientific evidence. ETHICS AND DISSEMINATION Ethics committee approval and informed consent are not required for developing guideline because only published data will be used, however, we will interview the patients, the ethics committee approval has been got from West China Hospital of Sichuan Unversity (Number: 2021-1188). Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the effects of chitooligosaccharide (COS) on intestinal barrier, antioxidant capacity, and immunity of lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-challenged laying hens. A total of 360 Hy-line Brown laying hens (80-wk-old) were randomly divided into 5 groups with 6 replicates of 12 birds. Hens were fed a corn-soybean meal basal diet supplemented with different COS levels (0; 5; 10; 15; 20 mg/kg) for 8 wk. The results showed that 15 mg/kg COS administration elevated albumen height and Haugh unit (P < 0.05), and numerically optimized productive performance (P > 0.05), therefore, the dosage of 15 mg/kg was chosen for the subsequent experiment. Thereafter, 12 birds from non-supplemented group were randomly selected and assigned into 2 groups, and birds in each group were administered (1.5 mg/kg BW, i.p.) with saline (control group) or LPS (challenge group). Another 6 hens from 15 mg/kg COS-supplemented group were selected and injected with LPS in the same way. Compared with the control group, LPS-challenged birds exhibited elevated circulating diamine oxidase activity, and reduced jejunal villus height and ratio of villus height to crypt depth, and these indices were reversed to control levels by COS (P < 0.05). Also, LPS increased malondialdehyde accumulation and reduced several antioxidant enzyme activities in the intestinal mucosa (P < 0.05). Additionally, LPS increased jejunal secretory IgA and interferon-γ (IFN-γ), and ileal secretory IgA, IgM, and interleukin-1β (IL-1β) concentrations, whereas COS reduced jejunal IFN-γ and IL-1β, and ileal IgM levels (P < 0.05). Moreover, LPS down-regulated mRNA abundance of jejunal occludin and claudin 2, and upregulated expression of jejunal nuclear factor erythroid-2 related factor 2, superoxide dismutase 1, and IFN-γ as well as ileal IL-1β (P < 0.05). Besides, COS increased jejunal occludin and ileal claudin 2, nuclear factor erythroid-2 related factor 2, and heme oxygenase-1 expression, and decreased jejunal IFN-γ and IL-1β abundance (P < 0.05). These results suggested that COS could alleviate LPS-induced intestinal barrier impairment, and oxidative and immunological stress in laying hens.

Abstract
Because of the low self-healing capacity of articular cartilage, cartilage injuries and degenerations triggered by various diseases are almost irreversible. Previous studies have suggested that human chondrocytes cultured in vitro tend to dedifferentiate during the cell-amplification phase and lose the physiological properties and functions of the cartilage itself, which is currently a critical limitation in the cultivation of cartilage for tissue engineering. Recently, numerous studies have focused on the modulation of chondrocyte redifferentiation. Researchers discovered the effect of various conditions (extracellular environment, cell sources, growth factors and redifferentiation inducers, and gene silencing and overexpression) on the redifferentiation of chondrocytes during the in vitro expansion of cells, and obtained cartilage tissue cultured in vitro that exhibited physiological characteristics and functions that were similar to those of human cartilage tissue. Encouragingly, several studies reported positive results regarding the modulation of the redifferentiation of chondrocytes in specific conditions. Here, the various factors and conditions that modulate the redifferentiation of chondrocytes, as well as their limitations and potential applications and challenges are reviewed. We expect to inspire research in the field of cartilage repair toward the future treatment of arthropathy.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is growing in China. Depression is a significant complication of T2DM, leading to poor management of T2DM. Thus, early detection and treatment of depression in patients with T2DM are essential and effective. Therefore, we plan to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the prevalence of depression in Chinese patients with T2DM and explore potential risk factors of depression in T2DM. METHODS We will search literatures recorded in MEDLINE, EMBASE, the Cochrane Library, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database (CBM), China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Chinese Science and Technology Periodical Database (VIP), and WanFang Database from their inception onwards. We will manually search gray literatures, reference lists of identified studies, relevant websites, and consult experts in this field. We will include population-based, cross-sectional surveys that investigated the prevalence of depression in Chinese patients with T2DM or/and the possible risk factors of depression in T2DM. Two reviewers will screen studies, extract data, and evaluate risk of bias independently. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality methodology checklist will be used to assess the risk of bias. If feasible, we will conduct random effects meta-analysis of observational data to summarize the pooled prevalence, and use odds ratio for categorical data to explore potential risk factors. Prevalence estimates will be stratified according to age, gender, and other factors. Statistical heterogeneity will be estimated using Cochran's Q and I2 index. We will conduct meta-regression to investigate the potential sources of heterogeneity, sensitivity analyses to assess robustness of the synthesized results, and funnel plots and Egger's test to assess publication bias. DISCUSSION This systematic review and meta-analysis will provide comprehensive evidence of the prevalence and potential risk factors of depression in Chinese patients with T2DM. We expect to provide evidence for healthcare practitioners and policy makers to pay attention to the mental health of patients with T2DM. Our data will highlight the need and importance of early detection and intervention for depression in patients with T2DM. SYSTEMATIC REVIEW REGISTRATION PROSPERO CRD42020182979.

Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the age-related changes of hepatic metabolism and antioxidant capacity of laying hens at 3 different ages. A total of 192 Hy-line Brown laying hens were assigned into 3 groups: 1) 195-day-old (D195 group); 2) 340-day-old (D340 group); 3) 525-day-old (D525 group). Each group replicated 8 times with 8 hens at the same age. Higher activity of aspartate aminotransferase and lower contents of total protein and globulin were observed in the serum of 525-day-old hens in comparison with their 195-day-old counterparts (P < 0.05). The 525-day-old hens accumulated higher contents of total cholesterol and triglyceride in the liver than 195-day-old birds. Additionally, compared with hens from D195 or D340 group, 525-day-old birds exhibited a lower circulating estradiol level (P < 0.05). For antioxidant capacity, birds in the D525 group showed a higher malondialdehyde concentration in both serum and liver as compared with D195 or D340 group (P < 0.05). The 525-day-old hens also exhibited lower glutathione peroxidase activities in both serum and liver when compared with 195-day-old birds (P < 0.05). Simultaneously, there was a decline of hepatic superoxide dismutase activity in the D525 group in comparison with D195 group (P < 0.05). Compared with 195-day-old counterparts, 340-day-old birds upregulated the mRNA abundance of nuclear factor erythroid-2 related factor 2 and glutathione peroxidase 1 in the liver (P < 0.05). In contrast, hens from D525 group showed the downregulation of hepatic nuclear factor erythroid-2 related factor 2, NAD(P)H quinone dehydrogenase 1, and superoxide dismutase 1 when compared with D340 group (P < 0.05). These results indicated that increasing age can adversely affect liver metabolism and function of laying hens.

Abstract
Background For rehabilitation training systems, it is essential to automatically record and recognize exercises, especially when more than one type of exercise is performed without a predefined sequence. Most motion recognition methods are based on feature engineering and machine learning algorithms. Time-domain and frequency-domain features are extracted from original time series data collected by sensor nodes. For high-dimensional data, feature selection plays an important role in improving the performance of motion recognition. Existing feature selection methods can be categorized into filter and wrapper methods. Wrapper methods usually achieve better performance than filter methods; however, in most cases, they are computationally intensive, and the feature subset obtained is usually optimized only for the specific learning algorithm. Objective This study aimed to provide a feature selection method for motion recognition of upper-limb exercises and improve the recognition performance. Methods Motion data from 5 types of upper-limb exercises performed by 21 participants were collected by a customized inertial measurement unit (IMU) node. A total of 60 time-domain and frequency-domain features were extracted from the original sensor data. A hybrid feature selection method by combining filter and wrapper methods (FESCOM) was proposed to eliminate irrelevant features for motion recognition of upper-limb exercises. In the filter stage, candidate features were first selected from the original feature set according to the significance for motion recognition. In the wrapper stage, k-nearest neighbors (kNN), Naïve Bayes (NB), and random forest (RF) were evaluated as the wrapping components to further refine the features from the candidate feature set. The performance of the proposed FESCOM method was verified using experiments on motion recognition of upper-limb exercises and compared with the traditional wrapper method. Results Using kNN, NB, and RF as the wrapping components, the classification error rates of the proposed FESCOM method were 1.7%, 8.9%, and 7.4%, respectively, and the feature selection time in each iteration was 13 seconds, 71 seconds, and 541 seconds, respectively. Conclusions The experimental results demonstrated that, in the case of 5 motion types performed by 21 healthy participants, the proposed FESCOM method using kNN and NB as the wrapping components achieved better recognition performance than the traditional wrapper method. The FESCOM method dramatically reduces the search time in the feature selection process. The results also demonstrated that the optimal number of features depends on the classifier. This approach serves to improve feature selection and classification algorithm selection for upper-limb motion recognition based on wearable sensor data, which can be extended to motion recognition of more motion types and participants.

OBJECTIVE Since current systematic reviews (SRs) show that results of effectiveness on Tai Chi for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are inconsistent, the purpose of this study is to find the reasons of the disparity by comprehensively appraising the related SRs. METHODS Six databases were systematically searched from the inception date to April 17, 2021. The methodological quality, the risk of bias, the reporting quality, and the quality of evidence were independently assessed by two reviewers with the AMSTAR 2, ROBIS, PRISMA, and GRADE. RESULTS A total of 12 studies met the inclusion criteria: 10 SRs were rated critically low quality and two SRs were low quality by AMSTAR 2. By the ROBIS, four out of 12 SRs were rated as "low risk". According to PRISMA, nine out of 12 SRs were adequately reported over 80%. With the GRADE tool, three out of 12 SRs rated the FEV1 as "Moderate", one out of 12 SRs (1/12, 9%) rated the FEV1/FVC (%) as "Moderate", three out of 12 SRs assessed the 6MWD as "Moderate", three out of 12 SRs evaluated the SGRQ as "Moderate", and the remaining evidence was fully rated as "Low" or "Very Low". CONCLUSION We found that the methodological quality, risk of bias, reporting quality, and quality of evidence of the included SRs on Tai Chi for COPD were suboptimal. These limitations may have a negative impact on SRs, consequently leading to inconsistent results. Further well-conducted SRs with less risk of bias, more rigorous methodology, normative reporting and high-quality of evidence are needed to provide robust evidence on Tai Chi for COPD. Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the effects and safety of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) on aphasia in stroke patients. METHODS We searched databases from inception to January 28, 2021. Randomized control trials investigating the effects and safety of rTMS for aphasia patients after stroke were included. Study screening, data extraction, and risk of bias assessment were performed independently by two reviewers. Meta-analysis was conducted with Review Manager 5.3 software. The quality of the evidence was assessed by the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE). RESULTS Twenty-eight studies with 1287 patients were included. All studies were assessed at low or unclear risk of bias in one or more domains. The meta-analysis exhibited rTMS was better than sham rTMS and conventional rehabilitation in language recovery. Low-frequency rTMS showed greater improvement in language recovery except for comprehension than sham rTMS. Low-frequency and bilateral rTMS were superior to conventional rehabilitation in language recovery. High-frequency rTMS was no better than sham rTMS and conventional rehabilitation for improving aphasia. The rTMS had better effects in naming, comprehension and aphasia quotient at 20 sessions. Eleven studies reported rTMS was safe for aphasia patients after stroke. The quality of evidence for all outcomes was low or very low, and publication bias may exist. CONCLUSIONS rTMS may be relatively effective and safe for aphasia patients after stroke. However, these findings should be treated with caution due to high heterogeneity and potential biases.

Abstract
Intestinal integrity, digestive enzyme activity, nutrient utilization, and egg quality of laying hens at different ages were evaluated and compared in this study. A total of 192 Hy-line Brown laying hens at 195-d-old (D195 group), 340-d-old (D340 group), and 525-d-old (D525 group) were allocated into one of 3 groups in accordance with their ages. Each group had 8 replicates of 8 birds each, and all birds were fed a maize-soybean meal basal diet for a 2-wk experiment. Compared with the D195 group, intestinal villus height and ratio of villus height to crypt depth, as well as serum D-lactate content increased in the D525 group (P < 0.05). The sucrase and maltase activities in the jejunal mucosa, amylase activity in the pancreas, and trypsin activity in the jejunal chyme of 525-d-old hens were lower than their 195-d-old counterparts (P < 0.05). In addition, there was a decline of trypsin and lipase activities in the ileal chyme of hens from D525 group in comparison with D195 or D340 group (P < 0.05). Apparent retention of dry matter and crude protein of birds in D340 and D525 group decreased when compared with the D195 group (P < 0.05). Moreover, birds in the D525 group exhibited a lower level of ether extract retention, and higher contents of several excreted amino acids than those in the D195 group (P < 0.05). Compared with the D195 group, eggs harvested from D525 group exhibited lower albumen height, eggshell strength and thickness, and a higher egg weight (P < 0.05). In conclusion, increased intestinal permeability (higher serum D-lactate content), compromised digestive function (lower digestive enzyme activities and apparent nutrient retention, and higher concentrations of excreted amino acids), and poor egg quality (lower albumen height, eggshell strength, and thickness) were observed with increasing age in the laying hens.

Abstract
Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common neurodegenerative disorder. The pathogenesis of AD is very complicated. For decades, the amyloid hypothesis has influenced and guided research in the field of AD. Meanwhile, researchers gradually realized that AD is caused by multiple concomitant factors, such as autophagy, mitochondrial quality control, insulin resistance and oxidative stress. In current clinical trials, the improvement strategies of AD, such as Aβ antibody immunotherapy and gamma secretase inhibitors, are limited. There is mounting evidence of neurodegenerative disorders indicated that activation of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) may have broad neuroprotective effects. We reviewed the researches on AMPK for AD, the results demonstrated that activation of AMPK is controversial in Aβ deposition and tau phosphorylation, but is positive to promote autophagy, maintain mitochondrial quality control, reduce insulin resistance and relieve oxidative stress. It is concluded that AMPK might be a new target for AD by aggressively treating the risk factors in the future.

Abstract
The learning curve for novices developing regional anaesthesia skills, such as real-time ultrasound-guided needle manipulation, may be affected by innate visuospatial ability, as this influences spatial cognition and motor co-ordination. We conducted a multinational randomised controlled trial to test if novices with low visuospatial ability would perform better at an ultrasound-guided needling task with deliberate practice training than with discovery learning. Visuospatial ability was evaluated using the mental rotations test-A. We recruited 140 medical students and randomly allocated them into low-ability control (discovery learning), low-ability intervention (received deliberate practice), high-ability control, and high-ability intervention groups. Primary outcome was the time taken to complete the needling task, and there was no significant difference between groups: median (IQR [range]) low-ability control 125 s (69-237 [43-600 s]); low-ability intervention 163 s (116-276 [44-600 s]); high-ability control 130 s (80-210 [41-384 s]); and high-ability intervention 177 s (113-285 [43-547 s]), p = 0.06. No difference was found using the global rating scale: mean (95%CI) low-ability control 53% (95%CI 46-60%); low-ability intervention 61% (95%CI 53-68%); high-ability control 63% (95%CI 56-70%); and high-ability intervention 66% (95%CI 60-72%), p = 0.05. For overall procedure pass/fail, the low-ability control group pass rate of 42% (14/33) was significantly less than the other three groups: low-ability intervention 69% (25/36); high-ability control 68% (25/37); and high-ability intervention 85% (29/34) p = 0.003. Further research is required to determine the role of visuospatial ability screening in training for ultrasound-guided needle skills.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Evidence showed that Tai Chi may have beneficial effects among hypertensive individuals, although the results are not convincing. We aim to conduct a high-quality clinical trial with 24-h BP measurement to provide robust evidence of Tai Chi for essential hypertension. METHODS This is an open-label single-center randomized controlled trial with 3 parallel arms. We will compare Tai Chi with walking and waiting-list control. We will recruit 234 hypertensive patients with mild to moderate essential hypertension and randomly assign them to 3 different groups. Participants in Tai Chi group will receive a group-format Yang style 24-form Tai Chi exercise program, 3 sessions per week for 12 weeks. The walking group will be asked to walk, 3 sessions per week for 12 weeks. The waiting-list group will not receive any interventions and/or exercise training. The primary outcome is the change in average 24-h systolic blood pressure (SBP) between baseline and 12 weeks after randomization. The secondary outcomes include 24-h Diastolic Blood Pressure (DBP), average SBP and average DBP during the daytime and night-time, blood pressure (BP) variability, SBP load and DBP load, circadian rhythm of BP, and morning BP surge, endothelial functional indicators, home measured BP, quality of life, adverse events and so on. DISCUSSION We expect findings of this trial will provide important insight into application of Tai Chi as an effective and acceptable method for hypertensive patients. Successful completion of this proposed study will also contribute to promotion of Tai Chi in the community in the future. Abstract
Objective: During the COVID-19 pandemic, the electronic "questionnaire star" was employed to investigate the general situation, medication situation and pandemic impact of children diagnosed with asthma in our hospital and enrolled in the electronic platform of the Chinese Children's Asthma Action Plan (CCAAP). The internet technology and big data were used to grasp the trend and asthma control of children who had been at home for a long time due to the pandemic, so as to facilitate the management. Methods: By random cluster sampling survey method, according to the needs and medication adherence score, the electronic "questionnaire star" was designed to conduct a survey among children (0 to 14 years old) who diagnosed with asthma and joined the CCAAP on the basis of bronchial asthma medication adherence scale. Finally, the results of electronic questionnaire survey were analyzed. Results: A total of 423 questionnaires were sent out, 422 of which were valid, with an effective response rate of 99.7%. The results of questionnaire survey showed that 296 cases were male, accounting for 70.1%, and 126 cases were female, accounting for 29.9%, with an average age of (5.4±2.6) years old. The average age of males and females was (5.3±2.6) and (5.4±2.6) years old, respectively. There were more children aged ≥5 years than children who were younger than 5 years. Additionally, 13.95% of the parents thought that the pandemic had more than moderate impact on children with asthma, and 76.12% of the children were in the green zone and had no asthma attack. The proportion of green zone inhaled drugs (79.8%) was higher than yellow zone and red zone (49.8%). After using the CCAAP platform, the dissatisfaction rate was only 1.42%. Moreover, 71.87% of the children's medical expenses decreased, and the proportion of frequent use and intermittent use of antibiotics reduced, however, the proportion of occasional use and never use of antibiotics increased significantly (all P<0.05). The average score of drug compliance was 4.56, and the more frequently the platform was used, the higher the score of medication compliance was (P<0.05). Conclusions: After using CCAAP management with the aid of internet technology, children with asthma who had been isolated at home for a long time were less affected by COVID-19, with high medication compliance, generally lower medical expenses, significantly reduced use of antibiotics, and high satisfaction. This management mode provides a new idea for internet medicine.

Abstract
WW domain-containing E3 Ub-protein ligase 2 (WWP2) belongs to the homologous to E6AP C-terminus (HECT) E3 ligase family. It has been explored to regulate osteogenic differentiation, chondrogenesis, and palatogenesis. Odontoblasts are terminally differentiated mesenchymal cells, which contribute to dentin formation in tooth development. However, it remained unknown whether WWP2 participated in odontoblast differentiation. In this study, WWP2 was found to be expressed in mouse dental papilla cells (mDPCs), odontoblasts, and odontoblastic-induced mDPCs by immunohistochemistry and Western blotting. Besides, WWP2 expression was decreased in the cytoplasm but increased in the nuclei of differentiation-induced mDPCs. When Wwp2 was knocked down, the elevated expression of odontoblast marker genes (Dmp1 and Dspp) in mDPCs induced by differentiation medium was suppressed. Meanwhile, a decrease of alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity was observed by ALP staining, and reduced formation of mineralized matrix nodules was demonstrated by Alizarin Red S staining. Overexpression of WWP2 presented opposite results to knockdown experiments, suggesting that WWP2 promoted odontoblastic differentiation of mDPCs. Further investigation found that WWP2 was coexpressed and interacted with KLF5 in the nuclei, leading to ubiquitination of KLF5. The PPPSY (PY2) motif of KLF5 was essential for its physical binding with WWP2. Also, cysteine 838 (Cys838) of WWP2 was the active site for ubiquitination of KLF5, which did not lead to proteolysis of KLF5. Then, KLF5 was confirmed to be monoubiquitinated and transactivated by WWP2, which promoted the expression of KLF5 downstream genes Dmp1 and Dspp. Deletion of the PY2 motif of KLF5 or mutation of Cys838 of WWP2 reduced the upregulation of Dmp1 and Dspp. Besides, lysine (K) residues K31, K52, K83, and K265 of KLF5 were verified to be crucial to WWP2-mediated KLF5 transactivation. Taken together, WWP2 promoted odontoblastic differentiation by monoubiquitinating KLF5.

Abstract
Objective: This study aimed to review the research status and to demonstrate the hot spots and frontiers of epilepsy and circadian rhythm via CiteSpace. Method: We searched Web of Science (WoS) for studies related to epilepsy and circadian rhythm from inception to 2020. CiteSpace was used to generate network maps about the collaborations between authors, countries, and institutions and reveal hot spots and frontiers of epilepsy and circadian rhythm. Results: A total of 704 studies related to epilepsy and circadian rhythm from the WoS were retrieved. Sanchez-Vazquez FJ was the most prolific author (17 articles). The USA and University of Murcia were the leading country and institution in this field with 219 and 22 publications, respectively. There were active collaborations among the authors, countries, and institutions. Hot topics focused on the interaction between epilepsy and circadian rhythm, as well as possible novel treatments. Conclusions: Based on the results of CiteSpace, the current study suggested active cooperation between authors, countries, and institutions. Major ongoing research trends include the circadian rhythm of epilepsy based on different epileptic focus and the interaction between epilepsy and circadian rhythm, especially through melatonin, sleep–wake cycles, and clock genes, which may implicate possible treatments (such as chronotherapy, neural stem cells transplantation) for epilepsy in the future.
