Abstract
Loss-of-function mutations in the Breast Cancer Susceptibility Gene (BRCA1 and BRCA2) are often detected in patients with breast cancer. Poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase-1 (PARP1) plays a key role in the repair of DNA strand breaks, and PARP inhibitors have been shown to induce highly selective killing of BRCA1/2-deficient tumor cells, a mechanism termed synthetic lethality. In our previous study, a novel PARP1 inhibitor─(E)-2-(2,3-dibromo-4,5-dimethoxybenzylidene)-N-(4-fluorophenyl) hydrazine-1-carbothioamide (4F-DDC)─was synthesized, which significantly inhibited PARP1 activity with an IC50 value of 82 ± 9 nM. The current study aimed to explore the mechanism(s) underlying the antitumor activity of 4F-DDC under in vivo and in vitro conditions. 4F-DDC was found to selectively inhibit the proliferation of BRCA mutant cells, with highly potent effects on HCC-1937 (BRCA1-/-) cells. Furthermore, 4F-DDC was found to induce apoptosis and G2/M cell cycle arrest in HCC-1937 cells. Interestingly, immunofluorescence and Western blot results showed that 4F-DDC induced DNA double strand breaks and further activated the cGAS-STING pathway in HCC-1937 cells. In vivo analysis results revealed that 4F-DDC inhibited the growth of HCC-1937-derived tumor xenografts, possibly via the induction of DNA damage and activation of the cGAS-STING pathway. In summary, the current study provides a new perspective on the antitumor mechanism of PARP inhibitors and showcases the therapeutic potential of 4F-DDC in the treatment of breast cancer.

Abstract
Introduction Chondrosarcoma is a rare malignant bone tumor. Particle beam therapy (PT) can concentrate doses to targets while reducing adverse events. A meta-analysis based on a literature review was performed to examine the efficacy of PT and photon radiotherapy for skull base chondrosarcoma. Methods The meta-analysis was conducted using 21 articles published from 1990 to 2022. Results After PT, the 3- and 5-year overall survival (OS) rates were 94.1% (95% confidence interval [CI]: 91.0-96.2%) and 93.9% (95% CI: 90.6-96.1%), respectively, and the 3- and 5-year local control rates were 95.4% (95% CI: 92.0-97.4%) and 90.1% (95% CI: 76.8-96.0%), respectively. Meta-regression analysis revealed a significant association of PT with a superior 5-year OS rate compared to three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy (p < 0.001). In the studies used in the meta-analysis, the major adverse event of grade 2 or higher was temporal lobe necrosis (incidence 1-18%, median 7%). Conclusion PT for skull base chondrosarcoma had a good outcome and may be a valuable option among radiotherapy modalities. However, high-dose postoperative irradiation of skull base chondrosarcoma can cause adverse events such as temporal lobe necrosis.

Abstract
Objective: Magnesium oxide is widely used for treating opioid-induced constipation, a serious analgesic-associated problem. Opioid analgesic users are often prescribed non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, which are sometimes combined with acid suppressants to prevent gastrointestinal adverse events. Magnesium preparations combined with acid suppressants may diminish magnesium preparations' laxative effect. This study was aimed at evaluating the effect of magnesium preparations combined with acid suppressants on the incidence of opioid-induced constipation by using the Food and Drug Administration Adverse Event Reporting System. Methods: Adverse events were defined per the Medical Dictionary for Regulatory Activities; the term 'constipation (preferred term code: 10010774)' was used for analysis. After adjusting for patient background factors using propensity score matching, acid suppressants' effect on constipation incidence was evaluated in opioid users prescribed magnesium preparations alone as laxatives by using a test for independence. Key Findings: The Food and Drug Administration Adverse Event Reporting System contains 14,475,614 reports for January 2004 to December 2021. Significantly increased constipation incidence was related to magnesium preparations combined with acid suppressants, especially proton pump inhibitors (P < 0.0001, McNemar's test). Conclusion: Magnesium preparations combined with acid suppressants may diminish magnesium preparations' laxative effect; healthcare professionals should pay attention to this issue.

Abstract
PURPOSE To discuss the optimal treatment modality for inoperable locally advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer patients with poor physical status, impaired cardio-pulmonary function, and negative driver genes, and provide clinical evidence. MATERIALS AND METHODS Retrospective analysis of 62 cases of locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer patients with negative driver genes treated at Tsukuba University Hospital(Japan) and Qingdao University Affiliated Hospital(China).The former received proton therapy with concurrent chemotherapy, referred to as the proton group, with 25 cases included; while the latter underwent X-ray therapy with concurrent chemoradiotherapy followed by 1 year of sequential immunomodulatory maintenance therapy, referred to as the X-ray group, with 37 cases included.The treatment response and adverse reactions were assessed using RECIST v1.1 criteria and CTCAE v3.0, and radiotherapy planning and evaluation of organs at risk were performed using the CB-CHOP method.All data were subjected to statistical analysis using GraphPad Prism v9.0, with a T-test using P < 0.05 considered statistically significant. RESULTS (1)Target dose distribution: compared to the X-ray group, the proton group exhibited smaller CTV and field sizes, with a more pronounced bragg peak.(2)Organs at risk dose: When comparing the proton group to the X-ray group, lung doses (V5, V20, MLD) and heart doses (V40, Dmax) were lower, with statistical significance (P < 0.05), while spinal cord and esophagus doses showed no significant differences between the two groups (P > 0.05).(3)Treatment-related toxicities: The incidence of grade 3 or higher adverse events in the proton group and X-ray group was 28.6% and 4.2%, respectively, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). In terms of the types of adverse events, the proton group primarily experienced esophagitis and pneumonia, while the X-ray group primarily experienced pneumonia, esophagitis, and myocarditis. Both groups did not experience radiation myelitis or esophagotracheal fistula.(4)Efficacy evaluation: The RR in the proton group and X-ray group was 68.1% and 70.2%, respectively (P > 0.05), and the DCR was 92.2% and 86.4%, respectively (P > 0.05), indicating no significant difference in short-term efficacy between the two treatment modalities.(5)Survival status: The PFS in the proton group and X-ray group was 31.6 ± 3.5 months (95% CI: 24.7 ~ 38.5) and 24.9 ± 1.55 months (95% CI: 21.9 ~ 27.9), respectively (P > 0.05), while the OS was 51.6 ± 4.62 months (95% CI: 42.5 ~ 60.7) and 33.1 ± 1.99 months (95% CI: 29.2 ~ 37.1), respectively (P < 0.05).According to the annual-specific analysis, the PFS rates for the first to third years in both groups were as follows: 100%, 56.1% and 32.5% for the proton group vs. 100%, 54.3% and 26.3% for the X-ray group. No statistical differences were observed at each time point (P > 0.05).The OS rates for the first to third years in both groups were as follows: 100%, 88.2%, 76.4% for the proton group vs. 100%, 91.4%, 46.3% for the X-ray group. There was no significant difference in the first to second years (P > 0.05), but the third year showed a significant difference (P < 0.05). Survival curve graphs also depicted a similar trend. CONCLUSION There were no significant statistical differences observed between the two groups in terms of PFS and OS within the first two years. However, the proton group demonstrated a clear advantage over the X-ray group in terms of adverse reactions and OS in the third year. This suggests a more suitable treatment modality and clinical evidence for populations with frail health, compromised cardio-pulmonary function, post-COVID-19 sequelae, and underlying comorbidities.

Abstract
The formation of the Ontong Java Nui super oceanic plateau (OJN), which is based on the model that the submarine Ontong Java Plateau (OJP), Manihiki Plateau (MP), and Hikurangi Plateau (HP) were once its contiguous fragments, could have been the largest globally consequential volcanic event in Earth's history. This OJN hypothesis has been debated given the paucity of evidence, for example, the differences in crustal thickness, the compositional gap between MP and OJP basalts and the apparent older age of both plateaus relative to HP remain unresolved. Here we investigate the geochemical and 40Ar-39Ar ages of dredged rocks recovered from the OJP's eastern margin. Volcanic rocks having compositions that match the low-Ti MP basalts are reported for the first time on the OJP and new ~ 96-116 Ma and 67-68 Ma 40Ar-39Ar age data bridge the temporal gap between OJP and HP. These results provide new evidence for the Ontong Java Nui hypothesis and a framework for an integrated tectonomagmatic evolution of the OJP, MP, and HP. The isotopic data imply four mantle components in the source of OJN that are also expressed in present-day Pacific hotspots sources, indicating origin from (and longevity of) the Pacific Large Low Shear-wave Velocity Province.

Abstract
PURPOSE To identify longitudinal changes in life-space mobility and the factors influencing it among chronic, stable post-stroke patients. MATERIALS AND METHODS This prospective study included Japanese post-stroke patients who received day-care rehabilitation services and could undergo three life-space mobility assessments (at baseline, 12, and 24 months) for over 2 years, using the Life-Space Assessment (LSA) tool. Physical function, cognitive function, and activities of daily living were assessed by self-selected comfortable gait speed, Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), and Functional Independence Measure Motor subscale (FIM motor) scores, respectively, in addition to age, sex, time from onset, stroke type, and comorbidities. A multivariable linear mixed-effects model was used to examine the longitudinal changes in LSA scores and associated factors. RESULTS A total of 89 participants were enrolled. At baseline, the median age was 74 years, 33% were women, and median time from onset was 75 months. The LSA scores significantly declined over the two-year period. In the multivariate linear mixed-effects model adjusted for clinical characteristics, comfortable gait speed and age were significantly associated with changes in the LSA score, independent of FIM motor scores and MMSE scores. CONCLUSIONS Life-space mobility may persistently decline, and gait function may be a determinant influencing these changes in community-dwelling chronic post-stroke patients.Implications for RehabilitationLimited life-space mobility leads to less frequent participation in social activities and an increased risk of adverse health outcomes such as hospitalization.Changes in life-space mobility should be considered in the rehabilitation care plan for chronic post-stroke patients.Life-space mobility may decline persistently in stable post-stroke patients, even if they have periodically received day-care rehabilitation services.Since gait speed is a predominant factor affecting life-space mobility, regular assessment of gait function and appropriate strategies are needed to prevent deterioration of gait speed in chronic post-stroke patients.

Abstract
Light flash and odor during radiotherapy are well-known phenomena. Two prospective observational studies have indicated that 55% of patients observed a light flash during irradiation of the retina and 27% of patients sensed an odor during radiotherapy for the nasal cavity. A prospective observational study was performed in all patients at our hospital who received total body irradiation (TBI) between January 2019 to October 2021. Light flash and odor during TBI were examined using the same method as that used in previous studies. A total of 32 patients received TBI during the study period. The patients had a median age of 41 (18-60) years, and included 20 males and 12 females. A survey checklist showed that 14 patients (44%) sensed light and 14 patients (44%) sensed odor during TBI,. The color of the light during irradiation was yellow in six cases, white in four cases, and blue in four cases. The intensity of the light was 2-5 (median 3, 1 is very weak, 5 is very strong) and the time over which the light flash was felt was 4-60 s (median 10 s). Two patients each sensed smells of plastic, ozone and bleach, and others sensed one smell each. The intensity of the odor was 1-4 (median 3, 1 is very weak, 5 is very strong) and the time over which the odor was sensed was 1-25 s (median 3 s). We conclude that light flashes and odors are each sensed by 44% of patients during TBI. Various types of light flashes and odors were reported in this study.

Abstract
Light flash and odor during radiation therapy are well-known phenomena, but the details are poorly understood, particularly in pediatric patients. Therefore, we conducted a prospective observational study of these events in pediatric patients (age ≤20 years old) who received radiotherapy at our center from January 2019 to November 2021. Light flash and odor were evaluated using a patient-reported checklist including the presence, strength, and duration of the phenomenon, and color of light or type of odor. 53 patients who received proton therapy (n=47) and photon radiotherapy (n=6) were enrolled in this study. The median age of the patients was 10, ranged from 5 to 20. The patients who was able to see the light flash was 4, and all of them received retina irradiation. This was equivalent to 57% of the patients who received radiotherapy to retina (n=7). The light was bright and colored mainly blue and purple, which seemed to be consistent with Cherenkov light. Odor was sensed by 9 (17%) patients, and seven patients of the 9 received nasal cavity irradiation. This was equivalent to 41% of the patients who received nasal cavity irradiation (n=17). Other 2 patients received proton therapy to brain tumor. The odors were mainly described as plastic, burnt and disinfectant, which may be caused by ozone generated during irradiation. These data suggest that pediatric patients with retinal and nasal cavity irradiation frequently sense light flashes or odor. So adequate care is necessary so that these patients are not worried about this phenomenon.

Abstract
We describe a patient with multifocal recurrent hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) who received proton beam therapy (PBT) and then underwent donation after brain dead (DBD) liver transplantation. The anatomy of the explanted diseased liver was examined pathologically post-transplantation. The patient was a 52-year-old male with hepatitis B virus infection and liver cirrhosis of Child-Pugh class B. Right lobe and caudate lobectomy were performed for primary HCC. However, three recurrent tumors appeared in the remnant liver in segments S2 (two sites) and S4, of sizes 23 mm, 10 mm, and 32 mm, respectively. Liver transplantation was required due to these multiple HCCs and liver cirrhosis, but the patient was ineligible for living donor liver transplantation (LDLT) based on Milan criteria. He was registered as a candidate on the waiting list for DBD transplantation. In consideration of the long waiting time for a deceased donor transplant for more than one year, the progression of multiple recurrent HCCs, and the risk of death, the patient had limited treatment options other than PBT for poor liver function and multifocal HCC and eventually received 65 GyE/18 fractions of PBT. Eleven months after the start of PBT, the tumors remained progression-free and liver function did not deteriorate, allowing the patient to wait for liver transplantation. After transplantation, the histopathology of the explanted liver showed that the left lobe of the liver treated by PBT showed no evidence of solid tumors and tumor cells in visual and microscopic examinations. There was also no significant damage to normal liver tissue. This case demonstrates that PBT is a prospective option for patients with HCC with poor liver function, multiple tumors, and no other treatment options. PBT can achieve control or even complete response of HCC while maintaining liver function and may be an effective pre-transplant method for tumor downstaging and prolonging survival. PBT may enable more people to wait for a donor liver or to become eligible for liver transplantation.

Abstract
Purpose: Patients often report a sense of smell during radiation therapy (RT), but the details of these events are not well understood. The purpose of the study was to evaluate events of smell during photon RT and proton beam therapy (PBT). Methods and materials: The subjects were all adult patients (≥20 years old) treated with photon RT or PBT at two centers from January 2019 to August 2020, with the exclusion of those with communication difficulties or olfactory abnormality. The presence of smell, odor type, intensity (five levels), and time period was examined prospectively using a weekly checklist. Results: A total of 649 courses were examined in 620 patients who received photon RT (n=415) or PBT (n=205). A smell during the procedure was sensed by 51 patients (8.2%). In multivariate logistic regression analysis, nasal cavity dose (p=0.002), age (p<0.001), and photon RT (p=0.018) were identified as significant factors associated with a sense of smell. Smell occurred in only 23/515 patients (4.5%) in whom the nasal cavity was not irradiated, but in 4/19 (21.1%) and 24/86 (27.9%) with nasal cavity maximum isodose lines of 10%-50% and 60%-100%, respectively. Patients who received photon RT sensed a smell (43/415; 10.4%) more frequently than those treated with PBT (8/205; 3.9%). Of the 51 patients who sensed a smell, 32 (63%) reported a burnt smell, eight (16%) a chemical smell, two (4%) a sour smell, and nine another smell (copier machine, sweet, garbage, etc.). Conclusions: The sense of a smell appears to be common during RT and this sensation is significantly associated with the nasal cavity dose, younger age, and photon RT.

Abstract
A total of 88 patients experienced light flashes among 416 who received photon radiotherapy and 205 who received proton beam therapy in our prospective study. The frequency of light flashes during radiotherapy was associated with the retina dose and younger age, and were commonly blue or white light for brain or head and neck irradiation. Light flashes were seen by only 35/524 patients (6.7%) without retinal irradiation, but by 13/33 (39.4%) and 41/64 (64.1%) with retinal maximum isodose lines of 10–50% and 60–100%, respectively. Totals of 52, 15, 15, 9, 16 and 8 patients sensed light of blue, purple, yellow, red, white and other colors, respectively.
Background Patients who receive radiation therapy sometimes complain of a light flash during irradiation. The details of the characteristics of this light have not been described. Purpose To evaluate light flashes during photon and proton radiotherapy. Methods and Materials A prospective observational study was performed in all adult patients (≥20 years old) who received photon and proton therapy at two centers between January 2019 and August 2020, except for patients who could not communicate and those with visual abnormality. Evaluations were obtained for the presence or absence of light flashes, light darkness (7 levels), light intensity (5 levels), frequency, light movement, light flashing, and time seeing the light, using a weekly checklist. Results A total of 650 courses were examined for 621 patients, of whom 416 received photon radiotherapy and 205 received proton beam therapy. The checklist indicated that 88 patients (16.1%) sensed light during photon or proton radiotherapy. In multivariate logistic regression analysis, the factors that were significantly associated with a light flash were a higher retina dose and younger age (p < 0.001). Light flashes were seen by only 35/524 patients (6.7%) for whom the retina was not irradiated, but by 13/33 (39.4%) and 41/64 (64.1%) with maximum isodose lines for the retina of 10–50% and 60–100%, respectively. The numbers of patients who sensed blue, purple, yellow, red, white and other colors were 52, 15, 15, 9, 16 and 8, respectively (multiple selections possible). Light movement was observed by 52 patients (59%). The location of the light was defined as near, far, and middle by 70, 13, and 5 patients, respectively. The median time the light was seen was 10 s. Conclusions Many patients sense light flashes during radiotherapy. The retina dose and a younger age were significantly associated with the frequency of light flashes.

Abstract
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) located in the caudate lobe (caudate HCC) is rare; however, patients with this type of tumour have poorer prognoses than those with HCC in other segments. Despite many published reports on the clinical usefulness of proton beam therapy (PBT) for HCC, data on the clinical outcomes of patients undergoing PBT for caudate HCC remain scarce. Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate the outcomes of this group of patients. Thirty patients with caudate HCC who underwent definitive PBT between February 2002 and February 2014 were retrospectively analysed. The total irradiation doses ranged from 55 to 77 (median 72.6) Gy relative biological dose. The median follow-up period was 37.5 (range, 3.0-152.0) months. The overall survival (OS) rates at one, three and five years were 86.6%, 62.8% and 46.1%, respectively. According to univariate and multivariate analyses, Child-Pugh A (P < 0.01), having a single tumour (P = 0.02) and a low serum alpha-fetoprotein level (AFP; P < 0.01) were significant factors predicting longer survival. The local control (LC) rates at one, three and five years were 100%, 85.9% and 85.9%, respectively, while the corresponding progression-free survival (PFS) rates were 65%, 27.5% and 22%, respectively. No grade 3 or worse adverse events were observed. PBT is effective and safe for the treatment of caudate HCC, and should therefore be considered a feasible option for intervention in patients with this disease.

Abstract
BACKGROUND/AIM Curing local recurrence of rectal cancer (LRRC) is difficult with conventional photon radiotherapy. Proton beam therapy (PBT) on the other hand, has unique physical characteristics that permit higher doses to LRRC while minimizing side effects on surrounding organs. However, the efficacy of PBT on controlling rectal cancer recurrence has not yet been reported. This study aimed to evaluate clinical outcomes and toxicities of PBT for LRRC. PATIENTS AND METHODS Clinical outcomes were retrospectively evaluated for 12 patients with 13 total lesions that had received PBT for LRRC at our institute. RESULTS The median follow-up period from the initiation of PBT was 35.6 months. The 3-year local control, progression-free survival and overall survival rates were 80.2%, 10.4% and 73.8%, respectively. Median survival time was 67.1 months. There were no severe acute or late adverse events. CONCLUSION PBT could be a safe and effective treatment method for LRRC.

Abstract
Background This study was conducted to evaluate late toxicities in adolescent and young adult (AYA) patients who received photon or proton therapy. Methodology A total of 106 AYA patients who received proton and photon therapy and were followed-up for more than two years were retrospectively evaluated. The median age of patients was 22 years (range, 15-29 years). A total of 47 patients were male and 59 were female. A total of 35 and 71 patients received photon and proton therapy, respectively. All but one patient received radiotherapy with curative intent. The target disease was benign and malignant in 28 and 78 patients, respectively. Results The median follow-up period in all patients was 62 months (range: 24-293 months). Grade 3 or higher toxicity was observed in 20 patients. There was one case of grade 5 toxicity (myelodysplastic syndrome), which was probably due to chemotherapy. No other secondary cancers were observed. Regarding life events, 15 and 88 patients were married and unmarried at the start of radiotherapy, respectively. Of the 88 unmarried patients, five were married after radiotherapy. Occupation and education were evaluated in 71 patients. Of the 71 patients, 33 were students, 21 were employed, and 16 were unemployed. Of the 33 students, eight were employed and 11 were at a higher educational grade after radiotherapy. Of the 21 employed patients, 17 had the same jobs and four had lost their jobs after radiotherapy. For the 16 unemployed patients, all remained unemployed. Conclusions This study is one of the largest studies to focus on life after radiation therapy among AYAs and suggests that cancer treatment has an influence on life events.

Abstract
The first measurement of longitudinal decorrelations of harmonic flow amplitudes v_{n} for n=2-4 in Xe+Xe collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.44 TeV is obtained using 3 μb^{-1} of data with the ATLAS detector at the LHC. The decorrelation signal for v_{3} and v_{4} is found to be nearly independent of collision centrality and transverse momentum (p_{T}) requirements on final-state particles, but for v_{2} a strong centrality and p_{T} dependence is seen. When compared with the results from Pb+Pb collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.02 TeV, the longitudinal decorrelation signal in midcentral Xe+Xe collisions is found to be larger for v_{2}, but smaller for v_{3}. Current hydrodynamic models reproduce the ratios of the v_{n} measured in Xe+Xe collisions to those in Pb+Pb collisions but fail to describe the magnitudes and trends of the ratios of longitudinal flow decorrelations between Xe+Xe and Pb+Pb. The results on the system-size dependence provide new insights and an important lever arm to separate effects of the longitudinal structure of the initial state from other early and late time effects in heavy-ion collisions.

Abstract
Desmoid tumors are benign, but may have a locally invasive tendency that commonly results in local recurrence. Most occur on the body trunk or extremities, whereas a head and neck desmoid tumor is relatively rare. The efficacy of radiotherapy has been suggested and 50-60 Gy is used for unresectable or recurrent desmoid tumors, but there are few reports of use of particle beam therapy. However, since this tumor occurs more often in younger patients compared to malignant tumors and the prognosis is favorable, there may be an advantage of this therapy. We treated a male patient with a head and neck recurrent desmoid tumor with proton beam therapy (PBT) at a dose of 60 Gy (RBE). This patient underwent surgical resection as initial treatment, but the tumor recurred only six months after surgery, and resection was performed again. After PBT, the tumor gradually shrank and complete remission has been achieved for 10 years without any severe late toxicity. Here, we report the details of this case, with a review of the literature. We suggest that PBT may reduce the incidence of second malignant tumors by reducing the dose exposure around the planning target volume.

Abstract
Background Hepatic hemangiomas are benign tumors with a favorable prognosis, but giant hepatic hemangiomas can cause abdominal symptoms and are indicated for treatment. Most cases are treated with surgery, but radiotherapy has also been used. However, to date, there have been no reports of proton beam therapy for a hepatic hemangioma. Case presentation A 46-year-old woman had a tumor of 80 × 80 mm in the left medial lobe of the liver, which was diagnosed as a giant hemangioma based on the contrast pattern. Therapy was required for a giant hepatic hemangioma with symptoms, but the patient refused blood transfusion due to religious reasons, which made surgical resection difficult. Therefore, she was referred to our hospital for proton beam therapy. At her first visit, liver function was Child-Pugh A (5 points) and there was no elevation of tumor markers. Proton beam therapy of 28.6 Gy (RBE) given in 13 fractions was performed without interruption. The only observed acute radiation toxicity was Grade 1 dermatitis. One year after proton beam therapy, the hemangioma had significantly decreased, and a complete response has been maintained for 15 years based on ultrasound and MRI. Conclusion This case is the first reported use of proton beam therapy for a hepatic hemangioma. The outcome suggests that this treatment may be effective for a giant liver hemangioma.

Abstract
A search for Higgs boson decays into a Z boson and a light resonance in two-lepton plus jet events is performed, using a pp collision dataset with an integrated luminosity of 139 fb^{-1} collected at sqrt[s]=13 TeV by the ATLAS experiment at the CERN LHC. The resonance considered is a light boson with a mass below 4 GeV from a possible extended scalar sector or a charmonium state. Multivariate discriminants are used for the event selection and for evaluating the mass of the light resonance. No excess of events above the expected background is found. Observed (expected) 95% confidence-level upper limits are set on the Higgs boson production cross section times branching fraction to a Z boson and the signal resonance, with values in the range 17-340 pb (16_{-5}^{+6}-320_{-90}^{+130} pb) for the different light spin-0 boson mass and branching fraction hypotheses, and with values of 110 and 100 pb (100_{-30}^{+40} and 100_{-30}^{+40} pb) for the η_{c} and J/ψ hypotheses, respectively.

Abstract
Nesomesochorinae is a rather small subfamily of Darwin wasps (Insecta: Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae), only with three described genera. We recognize a fourth nesomesochorine genus from Perú and describe it as a new genus, Bina Shimizu & Alvarado gen. nov. The new genus is distinguished from previously described genera of Nesomesochorinae by the following combination of character states: mandible parallel-sided proximally and abruptly strongly narrowed ventroapically so that its lower apical tooth is much smaller and sharper than upper tooth; propodeum with lateromedian longitudinal carinae between anterior and posterior transverse carinae developed on more than posterior 0.9 so that the area superomedia is more or less enclosed; thyridium of 2nd metasomal tergite sometimes very large; 1st metasomal tergite stout and arched; body highly shiny. Bina gen. nov. comprises two species also described as new to science: B. huayrurae Shimizu & Alvarado sp. nov. (type species of Bina gen. nov.) and B. nigra Shimizu & Alvarado sp. nov. Identification keys to genera of Nesomesochorinae and to species of Bina gen. nov. are provided.

Abstract
We report for patients with encephalitis treated with plasma exchange (PE) and fosphenytoin. In patient 1, phenytoin levels decreased on the maintenance dose, and the phenytoin concentration was <10 μg/mL on day 12 of administration. In patient 2, the phenytoin levels was <10 μg/mL on day 4. Increasing the fosphenytoin dose pushed the phenytoin level into therapeutic range. There were no differences between the areas under the concentration-time curve of phenytoin with and without PE. We previously reported a decline in phenytoin levels after prolonged use of fosphenytoin. Therefore, dose adjustment of fosphenytoin in patients undergoing PE may be unnecessary.

Abstract
This Letter describes a search for narrowly resonant new physics using a machine-learning anomaly detection procedure that does not rely on signal simulations for developing the analysis selection. Weakly supervised learning is used to train classifiers directly on data to enhance potential signals. The targeted topology is dijet events and the features used for machine learning are the masses of the two jets. The resulting analysis is essentially a three-dimensional search A→BC, for m_{A}∼O(TeV), m_{B},m_{C}∼O(100 GeV) and B, C are reconstructed as large-radius jets, without paying a penalty associated with a large trials factor in the scan of the masses of the two jets. The full run 2 sqrt[s]=13 TeV pp collision dataset of 139 fb^{-1} recorded by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider is used for the search. There is no significant evidence of a localized excess in the dijet invariant mass spectrum between 1.8 and 8.2 TeV. Cross-section limits for narrow-width A, B, and C particles vary with m_{A}, m_{B}, and m_{C}. For example, when m_{A}=3 TeV and m_{B}≳200 GeV, a production cross section between 1 and 5 fb is excluded at 95% confidence level, depending on m_{C}. For certain masses, these limits are up to 10 times more sensitive than those obtained by the inclusive dijet search. These results are complementary to the dedicated searches for the case that B and C are standard model bosons.

OBJECTIVES This study aimed to evaluate the effects of royal jelly (RJ) supplementation on bone metabolism in postmenopausal women. METHODS This was a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial. Seventy-two healthy postmenopausal women aged 45-60 years within 5 years after menopause were randomized into two groups: women in the RJ group (n = 36) received capsules containing dried RJ (equivalent to 3000 mg of fresh RJ); and women in the placebo group (n = 36) received placebo daily for 6 months. Bone mineral density (BMD) of the lumbar spine (L2-L4) and left proximal femur, hip structural analysis (HSA) of the left hip, and bone turnover markers were measured. RESULTS Although women in the placebo group experienced a significant loss of BMD and deterioration in HSA parameters of the femur, no significant differences were found in these parameters in women in the RJ group. The levels of total procollagen type 1 N-terminal propeptide (P1NP) and tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase decreased significantly in the placebo group; however, the total P1NP level, a marker of bone formation, was not significantly different in the RJ group at postintervention compared with baseline. CONCLUSION RJ consumption may ameliorate decreases in femoral BMD and strength in postmenopausal women.

Abstract
BACKGROUND/AIM This multi-institutional study aimed to investigate the efficacy and feasibility of proton beam therapy (PBT) for renal cell carcinoma (RCC) in Japan. PATIENTS AND METHODS The survival, local control, and toxicities in 22 RCC patients treated between 2001 and 2016 at 6 Japanese PBT institutes were analyzed. RESULTS The 22 patients comprised 20 men and had a median age of 67 (range=42-88) years. The total irradiation dose was 60-79.6 Gy (relative biological effectiveness). Over a median follow-up of 37 months, the 3-year overall and disease-specific survival rates were 95% and 100%, respectively, and no recurrence occurred. No patient experienced grade 3 or higher adverse events. The serum blood urea nitrogen (p=0.25) and creatinine levels (p=0.95) were not significantly affected, although the mean estimated glomerular filtration rate was reduced by 7.1±11.2 ml/min/1.73 m2 Conclusion: Despite the small number of patients, high-dose PBT can control RCC while maintaining their renal function with high probability, and could be and alternative curative therapy especially for inoperable patients.

Abstract
A study of the charge conjugation and parity (CP) properties of the interaction between the Higgs boson and top quarks is presented. Higgs bosons are identified via the diphoton decay channel (H→γγ), and their production in association with a top quark pair (tt[over ¯]H) or single top quark (tH) is studied. The analysis uses 139 fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data recorded at a center-of-mass energy of sqrt[s]=13 TeV with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. Assuming a CP-even coupling, the tt[over ¯]H process is observed with a significance of 5.2 standard deviations. The measured cross section times H→γγ branching ratio is 1.64_{-0.36}^{+0.38}(stat)_{-0.14}^{+0.17}(sys) fb, and the measured rate for tt[over ¯]H is 1.43_{-0.31}^{+0.33}(stat)_{-0.15}^{+0.21}(sys) times the Standard Model expectation. The tH production process is not observed and an upper limit on its rate of 12 times the Standard Model expectation is set. A CP-mixing angle greater (less) than 43 (-43)° is excluded at 95% confidence level.

Abstract
A search for heavy neutral Higgs bosons is performed using the LHC Run 2 data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 139 fb^{-1} of proton-proton collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV recorded with the ATLAS detector. The search for heavy resonances is performed over the mass range 0.2-2.5 TeV for the τ^{+}τ^{-} decay with at least one τ-lepton decaying into final states with hadrons. The data are in good agreement with the background prediction of the standard model. In the M_{h}^{125} scenario of the minimal supersymmetric standard model, values of tanβ>8 and tanβ>21 are excluded at the 95% confidence level for neutral Higgs boson masses of 1.0 and 1.5 TeV, respectively, where tanβ is the ratio of the vacuum expectation values of the two Higgs doublets.

Abstract
The prevalence of hadronic jets at the LHC requires that a deep understanding of jet formation and structure is achieved in order to reach the highest levels of experimental and theoretical precision. There have been many measurements of jet substructure at the LHC and previous colliders, but the targeted observables mix physical effects from various origins. Based on a recent proposal to factorize physical effects, this Letter presents a double-differential cross-section measurement of the Lund jet plane using 139 fb^{-1} of sqrt[s]=13 TeV proton-proton collision data collected with the ATLAS detector using jets with transverse momentum above 675 GeV. The measurement uses charged particles to achieve a fine angular resolution and is corrected for acceptance and detector effects. Several parton shower Monte Carlo models are compared with the data. No single model is found to be in agreement with the measured data across the entire plane.

Abstract
The elliptic flow of muons from the decay of charm and bottom hadrons is measured in pp collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV using a data sample with an integrated luminosity of 150 pb^{-1} recorded by the ATLAS detector at the LHC. The muons from heavy-flavor decay are separated from light-hadron decay muons using momentum imbalance between the tracking and muon spectrometers. The heavy-flavor decay muons are further separated into those from charm decay and those from bottom decay using the distance-of-closest-approach to the collision vertex. The measurement is performed for muons in the transverse momentum range 4-7 GeV and pseudorapidity range |η|<2.4. A significant nonzero elliptic anisotropy coefficient v_{2} is observed for muons from charm decays, while the v_{2} value for muons from bottom decays is consistent with zero within uncertainties.

Abstract
PURPOSE The purpose of this basic research study was to clarify the morphological characteristics of the posterior oblique fibers (POL) of the ulnar collateral ligament using a large number of specimens. METHODS This study examined 50 arms from 25 Japanese cadavers. Type classification was performed by focusing on the positional relationship between POL morphology and the joint capsule. The morphological features measured were fiber bundle length, width, and thickness. RESULTS The POL was classified as follows: Type I, the POL's anterior and posterior edges are located on the surface of the joint capsule and can be separated as a single fiber bundle; Type II-a, the POL anterior edge can be separated, but the posterior edge cannot be separated; Type II-b, the POL posterior edge can be separated, but the anterior edge cannot be separated; and Type III, the POL cannot be separated from the joint capsule. Type I was seen in 23 elbows (46%), Type II-a in 6 elbows (12%), Type II-b in 7 elbows (14%), and Type III in 14 elbows (28%). CONCLUSION The results of this study suggested that the POL could be classified into an independent type and an unclear type, and the presence of the unclear type was one of the factors that caused morphological variation.

Abstract
A search for magnetic monopoles and high-electric-charge objects is presented using 34.4 fb^{-1} of 13 TeV pp collision data collected by the ATLAS detector at the LHC during 2015 and 2016. The considered signature is based upon high ionization in the transition radiation tracker of the inner detector associated with a pencil-shape energy deposit in the electromagnetic calorimeter. The data were collected by a dedicated trigger based on the tracker high-threshold hit capability. The results are interpreted in models of Drell-Yan pair production of stable particles with two spin hypotheses (0 and 1/2) and masses ranging from 200 to 4000 GeV. The search improves by approximately a factor of 5 the constraints on the direct production of magnetic monopoles carrying one or two Dirac magnetic charges and stable objects with electric charge in the range 20≤|z|≤60 and extends the charge range to 60<|z|≤100.
