Abstract
The present study was attempted to unveil the impact of heat stress on transcription pattern of major heat shock response genes in caprine cardiac fibroblasts. Cardiac tissues (n = 6) were collected and primary cardiac cell culture was done. Cultured cardiac fibroblasts were kept in an atmosphere of 5% CO2 and 95% air at 38.5 °C. Cardiac cells achieved 70-75% confluence after 72 hours of incubation. Heat stress was induced on confluent cardiac fibroblasts at 42 °C for 0 (control), 20, 60, 100 and 200 min. Quantitative RT-PCR for β2m (internal control), HSP60, HSP70, HSP90, and HSP110 was done and their transcription pattern was assessed by Pfaffl method. HSP60, HSP90, and HSP110 transcription did not differ at 20 min, up-regulated (p < 0.05) from 60 to 200 min and registered highest at 200 min of heat exposure. HSP70 transcription was gradually escalated (p < 0.05) time dependently from 20 to 200 min and reached zenith at 200 min of heat exposure. Differential induction in transcription of key molecular chaperones at various durations of heat exposure might reduce cardiac fibroblasts apoptosis and thus could maintain cardiac tissue function during heat stress.

Abstract
The inclusive electron neutrino charged-current cross section is measured in the NOvA near detector using 8.02×10^{20} protons-on-target in the NuMI beam. The sample of GeV electron neutrino interactions is the largest analyzed to date and is limited by ≃17% systematic rather than the ≃7.4% statistical uncertainties. The double-differential cross section in final-state electron energy and angle is presented for the first time, together with the single-differential dependence on Q^{2} (squared four-momentum transfer) and energy, in the range 1 GeV≤E_{ν}<6 GeV. Detailed comparisons are made to the predictions of the GENIE, GiBUU, NEUT, and NuWro neutrino event generators. The data do not strongly favor a model over the others consistently across all three cross sections measured, though some models have especially good or poor agreement in the single differential cross section vs Q^{2}.

Abstract
The present study was undertaken to document the transcriptional abundance of heat shock factors and heat shock proteins and their role in survivability of caprine cardiac cells during heat stress. Cardiac tissues were collected from different goats (n = 6) and primary cardiac cell culture was done in an atmosphere of 5% CO2 and 95% air at 38.5 °C. Cardiac cells accomplished 70-75% confluence after 72 h of incubation. Confluent cardiac cells were exposed to heat stress at 42 °C for 0 (control), 20, 60, 100 and 200 min. Quantitative RT-PCR for β2m (internal control), heat shock factors (HSF1, HSF2, HSF4, HSF5), heat shock proteins (HSP10, HSP40), and Caspase-3 was done and their transcriptional abundance was assessed by Pfaffl method. Transcriptional abundance of HSF1, HSF2, and HSF4 did not change at 20 min, increased (P < 0.05) from 60 to 200 min and reached zenith at 200 min of heat exposure. However, transcriptional abundance of HSF5 was gradually escalated (P < 0.05) from 20 to 200 min and registered highest at 200 min of heat exposure. Transcriptional abundance of HSP10 and HSP40 followed an similar pattern like that of HSF5. Transcriptional abundance of Caspase-3 was significantly down-regulated at 200 min of heat exposure. It could be speculated that over-expression of HSFs and HSPs might have reduced Caspase-3 expression at 200 min of heat exposure suggesting their involvement in cardiac cells survival under heat stress. Moreover, hyper-expression of HSFs and HSPs could maintain the integrity and endurance of cardiac tissues of goats under heat stress.

Abstract
We aimed to assess the burden of NCDIs across socioeconomic groups, their economic impact, existing health service readiness and availability, current policy frameworks and national investment, and planned programmatic initiatives in Nepal through a comprehensive literature review. Secondary data from Global Burden of Disease estimates from GBD 2015 and National Living Standard Survey 2011 were used to estimate the burden of NCDI and present the relationship of NCDI burden with socioeconomic status. The Commission used these data to define priority NCDI conditions and recommend potential cost-effective, poverty-averting, and equity-promoting health system interventions. NCDIs disproportionately affect the health and well-being of poorer populations in Nepal and cause significant impoverishment. The Commission found a high diversity of NCDIs in Nepal, with approximately 60% of the morbidity and mortality caused by NCDIs without primary quantified behavioral or metabolic risk factors, and nearly half of all NCDI-related DALYs occurring in Nepalese younger than 40 years. The Commission prioritized an expanded set of twenty-five NCDI conditions and recommended introduction or scale-up of twenty-three evidence-based health sector interventions. Implementation of these interventions would avert an estimated 9680 premature deaths per annum by 2030 and would cost approximately $8.76 per capita. The Commission modelled potential financing mechanisms, including increased excise taxation on tobacco, alcohol, and sugar-sweetened beverages, which would provide significant revenue for NCDI-related expenditures. Overall, the Commission's conclusions are expected to be a valuable contribution to equitable NCDI planning in Nepal and similar resource-constrained settings globally.

Abstract
This Letter reports results from the first long-baseline search for sterile antineutrinos mixing in an accelerator-based antineutrino-dominated beam. The rate of neutral-current interactions in the two NOvA detectors, at distances of 1 and 810 km from the beam source, is analyzed using an exposure of 12.51×10^{20} protons-on-target from the NuMI beam at Fermilab running in antineutrino mode. A total of 121 of neutral-current candidates are observed at the far detector, compared to a prediction of 122±11(stat.)±15(syst.) assuming mixing only between three active flavors. No evidence for ν[over ¯]_{μ}→ν[over ¯]_{s} oscillation is observed. Interpreting this result within a 3+1 model, constraints are placed on the mixing angles θ_{24}<25° and θ_{34}<32° at the 90% C.L. for 0.05 eV^{2}≤Δm_{41}^{2}≤0.5 eV^{2}, the range of mass splittings that produces no significant oscillations at the near detector. These are the first 3+1 confidence limits set using long-baseline accelerator antineutrinos.

Abstract
This report presents new findings of exchange bias and related structural and magnetic properties in iron carbide/magnetite (Fe5C2/Fe3O4) core/shell nanoparticles. The exchange bias emerges from an energetic landscape, namely a first-order phase transition-the Verwey transition at 125 K, during which the Fe3O4 shell changes from the cubic to monoclinic structure. The phase transition leads to the exchange bias because it results in abrupt changes in magnetocrystalline anisotropy and exchange coupling. Another unique phenomenon identified in this composite system is enhanced magnetic coercivity due to the uniaxial anisotropy of the monoclinic phase. An analysis of the correlations between the observed phenomena is given based on the temperature dependence of the coercivity, the exchange bias field values, and the Verwey transition temperature.

Abstract
High heat and humidity stress have been a perpetual perilous for the buffalo's production and productivity in tropics and subtropics including India. Productive potential of livestock's species including buffaloes is maximum with in thermo-neutral zone (TNZ) and if ambient temperature exceeds TNZ and upper critical temperature expose livestock's to heat stress conditions. For decades, heat stress has been the prime factor to plummet buffalo's growth, development, reproduction and production in tropics and subtropics including India. In general, buffaloes are homeotherms and known as temperature regulators as they resist the variations in ambient temperatures. Generally, buffaloes like other livestock's display amalgamation of thermoregulatory responses to withstand the changes occurred in their micro and macro environment. These thermoregulatory responses are behavioural, physiological, neuro-endocrine and molecular responses acting synergistically to counteract the deleterious effects of heat stress. Amidst all responses, molecular responses play major role to confer thermo-tolerance through expression of highly conserved family of proteins known as heat shock proteins (HSPs). Despite of these thermoregulatory responses, heat stress prodigiously muddles buffalo's production and productivity. The present review highlights the thermoregulatory responses manifested by riverine buffaloes against heat stress.

Abstract
The study presents a novel molten salt assisted autocombustion synthesis of SrFe12-xAlxO19 particles. The extrinsic magnetic properties such as coercivity and the remanence of sintered M-type ferrites are highly dependent on the microstructure viz. morphology and size, of the ferrite particles. The control of the microstructures of ferrite particles is usually achieved via control nucleation and grain growth process. In this study, NaCl salt was used to control the crystal shape and size of Al3+ doped SrFe12-xAlxO19 particles. The presented novel method couples advantage of deriving homogenized particles via auctocombustion first and later sintering in the presence of NaCl salt. Highly dispersed, homogeneous, and hexagonal shaped SrFe12-xAlxO19 ferrite particles were achieved with this method. The particles derived via the molten salt assisted method presented a high coercivity and squareness ratio (>0.5) as compared to that obtained via autocombustion method only.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Little is known about the estrogen exposure measurement and mutual effect of age at menarche and age at menopause in the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) events. OBJECTIVES To evaluate estrogen exposure measurement and describe mutual effect of age at menarche and age at menopause in the risk of CVD events. SEARCH STRATEGY Systematic review of literature in PubMed, Embase and Web of Science for studies published up to 28 June 2020. SELECTION CRITERIA Observational studies related to estrogen exposure measurement, including mutual effect of age at menarche and age at menopause and risk of CVD events. DATA COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS Synthesis of evidence was conducted by reviewing individual estimates, followed by meta-analysis. The study received no external funding. MAIN RESULTS A total of 75 studies were included in synthesis of evidence, of which 17 studies were included in meta-analysis. Reproductive lifespan (age at menopause - age at menarche), endogenous estrogen exposure and total estrogen exposure were used for estrogen exposure measurement. Reproductive lifespan was by far the most commonly used method for estrogen exposure measurement. A shorter reproductive lifespan was associated with a higher risk of CVD events; the pooled relative risk (95% CI) was 1.31 (1.25-1.36) for stroke events. Robust epidemiological studies with measurement of estrogen exposure and associated health risk would strengthen the evidence. CONCLUSIONS Reproductive lifespan was the most commonly used method for estrogen exposure measurement in epidemiological studies. A shorter reproductive lifespan was associated with a higher risk of CVD events, particularly stroke. TWEETABLE ABSTRACT A systematic review and meta-analysis found that women with a shorter reproductive lifespan have a higher risk of stroke events.

Abstract
Ambient temperature is considered as the major abiotic factor which regulates body physiological mechanisms of all living creatures across the globe. Variation in ambient temperature which emulates thermoneutral zone culminates in heat stress. Heat stress has been emerged as major ultimatum to livestock's growth, development, production and reproduction across the world. Livestock's responds to the heat stress via different mechanisms such as behavioral, physiological, biochemical, endocrine and molecular mechanisms. Amongst the aforementioned mechanisms, molecular mechanism plays crucial role to achieve thermo-tolerance via expression of highly conserved family of proteins known as heat shock proteins (HSPs) across livestock species. HSPs serve as molecular chaperones to ameliorate the menace of heat stress in domestic species. In addition, microRNAs are small non-coding RNA which down regulates post-transcriptional gene expression by targeting various HSPs to regulate the thermoregulatory responses in livestock species. Despite of thermal adaptation mechanisms, heat stress breaches animal body homeostasis thereby depresses their production and productivity. Therefore, veterinary researches have been targeting to explore different repertoire of HSPs and microRNAs expression to counteract the rigors of heat stress thereby confer thermo-tolerance in livestock species. The present review highlights the significance of molecular chaperones and microRNAs in the acquisition of thermo-tolerance in dairy cattle.

Abstract
Template-assisted facile synthesis of tubular Co₃O₄ microstructures and its electrochemical performance was studied to understand its use as a potential electrode material for supercapacitors. Tubular porous Co₃O₄ microstructures were synthesized using cotton fibers as bio-template. The as-obtained templated Co₃O₄ structure inherits the morphology and microstructure of cotton fiber. The electrochemical performance of the electrode made up of tubular Co₃O₄ structure was evaluated in 3 M KOH, NaOH, and LiOH aqueous electrolytes. The large-surface-area of tubular Co₃O₄ microstructure has a noticeable pseudocapacitive performance with a capacitance of 401 F/g at 1 A/g and 828 F/g at 2 mV/s, a Coulombic efficiency averaging ~100%, and excellent cycling stability with capacitance retention of about 80% after 5,000 cycles. Overall, the tubular Co₃O₄ microstructure displayed superior electrochemical performance in 3 M KOH electrolyte with peak power density reaching 5,500 W/kg and energy density exceeding 22 Wh/kg. The superior performance of tubular Co₃O₄ microstructure electrode is attributed to its high surface area and adequate pore volume distribution, which allows effective redox reaction and diffusion of hydrated ions. The facile synthesis method can be adapted for preparing various metal oxide microstructures for possible applications in catalysis, electrochemical, sensors, and fuel cells applications.

Abstract
The widespread use of miniature electronic devices calls for energy-dense storage strategies. The supercapacitor-based energy storage devices with high areal capacitance are desired energy storage alternative. It is still a challenge to fabricate supercapacitor-based energy devices with consistent performance. The porous metal oxides with large areal capacitance are desired materials for electrode, but there exists a limited understanding of the influence of synthesis parameters on microstructural properties, which largely govern their electrochemical performance. In the present work, hierarchal spinel nickel cobaltite (NiCo₂O₄) nanostructures were synthesized in the presence of the varying amount of hydrolyzing agent via a simple hydrothermal method coupled with a simple post-annealing process. This work focuses on understanding the influence of hydrolyzing agent in controlling the microstructure and hence ensuing electrochemical properties of the NiCo₂O₄ based electrode. Based on the urea hydrolyzing content, the as synthesized NiCo₂O₄ nanostructure varied from the rod, plate to nanoflower. The mesoporous nanostructures, with urea content 1.49 gm, exhibit a sizeable BJH surface area (79.2 m² g-1) and high mesopore volume (0.140 cm³ g-1). Remarkably, the NiCo₂O₄ nanoflower shows high specific capacitance of 3143.451 F/g at 2 mV/s scan rate, 1264.5 F/g at 1 A/g current density, energy density of 56 Wh/kg and power density of 8,400 W/kg in 3 M KOH electrolyte. The capacitance loss after 5000 cycles is 48% at the current density of 10 A/g, indicating their excellent cycling stability. The impressive electrocatalytic activity is largely ascribed to the high intrinsic electronic conductivity, superior mesoporous nanostructures and rich surface Ni active species of the NiCo₂O₄ materials, which can largely boost the interfacial electroactive sites and charge transfer rates indicating promising applications as electrodes in future supercapacitors.

Abstract
In this paper, we have presented a novel Drug Delivery Substrate (DDS) that that is responsive to external stimuli of high-frequency alternating magnetic fields. The DDS is constituted of chitosan crosslinked with PEGDMA (polyethylene glycol dimethacrylate), loaded with Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles and vancomycin. In another experiment, a 19-hour elution was observed where three magnetic stimuli of 25 mT, 109.9 kHz were given for 60 min to the test samples. The stimuli were separated by several hours. After excitation span, it was observed that the stimulated samples released a significantly higher amount of vancomycin by as much as 21% compared to non-stimulated samples. In another study, preliminary results showing the effect of different PEGDMA chain lengths have been discussed. These results show evidence of a smart, controllable DDS that allows modulation of its normal passive antibiotic elution by applying external stimuli per personalized needs.

Abstract
The present study was aimed to determine the impact of thermal stress on expression dynamics of heat shock protein 60 (HSP60) mRNA in cultured cardiac fibroblast cells of the goat. The heart tissues (n = 6) from different goats were used for the culture study. The cardiac fibroblast cells were cultured and subjected to thermal stress at 42 °C for 0, 20, 60 and 100 min. The relative abundance of HSP60 mRNA was assessed by quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR). The cardiac cells exposed to thermal stress at 42 °C for 0 min was taken as control. The relative abundance of HSP60 mRNA did not change at 20 min of thermal stress as compared to control. Thereafter, the relative abundance of HSP60 mRNA was significantly up-regulated (p < 0.05) at 60 min and 100 min of thermal stress. However, the highest mRNA expression of HSP60 was noticed at 100 min of thermal stress. The present study indicates that, thermal stress modulates the mRNA expression HSP60 in cultured caprine cardiac fibroblast cells.

Abstract
The NOvA experiment has seen a 4.4σ signal of ν[over ¯]_{e} appearance in a 2 GeV ν[over ¯]_{μ} beam at a distance of 810 km. Using 12.33×10^{20} protons on target delivered to the Fermilab NuMI neutrino beamline, the experiment recorded 27 ν[over ¯]_{μ}→ν[over ¯]_{e} candidates with a background of 10.3 and 102 ν[over ¯]_{μ}→ν[over ¯]_{μ} candidates. This new antineutrino data are combined with neutrino data to measure the parameters |Δm_{32}^{2}|=2.48_{-0.06}^{+0.11}×10^{-3} eV^{2}/c^{4} and sin^{2}θ_{23} in the ranges from (0.53-0.60) and (0.45-0.48) in the normal neutrino mass hierarchy. The data exclude most values near δ_{CP}=π/2 for the inverted mass hierarchy by more than 3σ and favor the normal neutrino mass hierarchy by 1.9σ and θ_{23} values in the upper octant by 1.6σ.

Introduction
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development has prioritized the reduction of premature mortality due to NCDs – including cardiovascular diseases (CVD) - by a third. To achieve this goal, countries must achieve 80% availability of affordable essential medicines. Essential medicines as identified by the World Health Organization are those that meet the priority healthcare needs of majority population. Globally, India has the second highest CVD burden with over 1.7 million deaths annually, with the highest CVD morbidity and mortality rate in Kerala.
Purpose
To evaluate the availability, prices and affordability of essential CVD medicines in Kerala state to facilitate implementation of informed public health policy.
Methods
Using WHO/HAI methodology, we obtained data on availability and prices for 25 essential CVD medicines in a representative sample of 7 public-sector hospitals (survey anchors) and 37 private retail pharmacies located near the survey anchors in four districts. Additionally, we obtained the data from 10 government-subsidized discount pharmacies. We report availability as percentage of surveyed facilities where a given medicine was found. Median prices ratios (MPRs) were calculated by comparing consumer prices to the MSH International Reference Prices (IRPs). Medicines were considered affordable if the monthly supply costs less than one-day's wage of the lowest paid government worker.
Results
In the public-sector facilities (hospital and discount pharmacies combined), the mean (SD) availability of the surveyed CVD medicines was 52% (35.3%) for generic and 35.3% (20.7%) for originator brand (OB) version. 28% of surveyed medicines (including amlodipine, clopidogrel, losartan, metformin) were available in over 80% pharmacies. 12% (captopril, streptokinase and glyceryl trinitrate) were not available in any of the facilities.
In the private sector, mean (SD) availability of generic and OB versions was 64.4% (37.2%) and 43.7% (34.6%), respectively. MPR was 1.28 [range: 0.02 (insulin NPH) – 16.7 (simvastatin)] for both lowest-priced generics (LPG) and most-sold generics (MSG). The lowest paid government worker in Kerala would spend 0.06 - 3.48 days' wages for the monthly supply of essential CVD medicines in the private sector.
In government-subsidized discount pharmacies, mean availability was 49.3%. The generic medicine prices were 74% lower than in the private sector.
Conclusions
Availability of essential CVD medications in both public and private sector pharmacies fall short of the 80% target. In the private-sector, many essential CVD medications seem unaffordable especially considering the polypharmacy among CVD patients. Introducing policies to improve medicine availability in government-subsidized discount pharmacies is crucial in tackling Kerala's ever-increasing CVD burden.

Abstract
New materials are advancing the field of soft robotics. Composite films of magnetic iron microparticles dispersed in a shape memory polymer matrix are demonstrated for reconfigurable, remotely actuated soft robots. The composite films simultaneously respond to magnetic fields and light. Temporary shapes obtained through combined magnetic actuation and photothermal heating can be locked by switching off the light and magnetic field. Subsequent illumination in the absence of the magnetic field drives recovery of the permanent shape. In cantilevers and flowers, multiple cycles of locking and unlocking are demonstrated. Scrolls show that the permanent shape of the film can be programmed, and they can be frozen in intermediate configurations. Bistable snappers can be magnetically and optically actuated, as well as biased, by controlling the permanent shape. Grabbers can pick up and release objects repeatedly. Simulations of combined photothermal heating and magnetic actuation are useful for guiding the design of new devices.

Abstract
Study evaluates the electrochemical performance of off-stoichiometric NixCo3-xO₄ compounds. The off-stoichiometric samples were prepared via hydrothermal technique by systematically varying Co/Ni molar ratio. Physical and electrochemical properties of NixCo3-xO₄ were observed to be stoichiometry dependent. The increase in Ni/Co ratio in NixCo3-xO₄ leads to the morphological transformation from fibrous bundles to urchin like nanospheres with a concomitant increase in the surface area reaching up to 132 m2/g. The optimal specific capacitance of 225 F/g at a current density of 1 A/g and 524 F/g at 10 mV/s scan rate was observed of x 1.0 sample, with an increased retention capacity ∼120% measured at 2 A/g current density. The hybrid density functional theory (DFT) calculations of the electronic density of states identified Ni1.0Co₂O₄ with optimal band-gap of 2.38 eV with an expectation of displaying higher electrocapacitive performance. Experimentally, Ni0.92Co2.08O₄ displayed superior electrocapacitive performance among all Ni/Co ratio in NixCo3-xO₄. The DFT study also predicted Ni preference to the octahedral site, which is in-line with the observed increase in ferromagnetic nature, decreased lattice parameter, and increased structural disorder with increasing Ni/Co ratio. The improved electrochemical performance of NixCo3-xO₄ (x > 0) is attributed to the mesoporous hierarchical structure, with a high electroactive surface which can effectively improve structural stability, and reduce the ionic and electron diffusion length. Compared to the pure Co₃O₄, the reduction of Co content in NixCo3-xO₄ is desired due to the high cost and toxicity of Co element.

Abstract
The present study was aimed to document the effect of heat stress on the transcriptional abundance of heat shock protein 70 (HSP70) mRNA in cultured cardiac cells of goat. The heart tissues (n = 6) from different goats were used for the culture study. The cardiac cells obtained from different heart tissues were cultured in 24 well cell culture plates and incubated in a humidified CO2 (5%) incubator at 37 °C. The cardiac cells were allowed to become 75-80% confluent after 72 h of incubation. Thereafter, the cardiac cells were subjected to heat exposure at 42 °C (heat exposed) for 0, 20, 60 and 100 min. The cardiac cells exposed to heat stress at 42 °C for 0 min was taken as control. The relative abundance of HSP70 mRNA was gradually up-regulated (p < .05) from 20 to 100 min of heat exposure and reached the zenith (p < .05) at 100 min of heat challenge. The present finding highlights that, HSP70 could possibly act as a cytoprotective factor and may promote cardiac cell survival against the detrimental effect of heat stress. Moreover, this study may serve as the harbinger to conduct further research work on expression kinetics of HSP70 in cardiac cells of goat including other livestock species.

Abstract
A search for mixing between active neutrinos and light sterile neutrinos has been performed by looking for muon neutrino disappearance in two detectors at baselines of 1.04 and 735 km, using a combined MINOS and MINOS+ exposure of 16.36×10^{20} protons on target. A simultaneous fit to the charged-current muon neutrino and neutral-current neutrino energy spectra in the two detectors yields no evidence for sterile neutrino mixing using a 3+1 model. The most stringent limit to date is set on the mixing parameter sin^{2}θ_{24} for most values of the sterile neutrino mass splitting Δm_{41}^{2}>10^{-4} eV^{2}.

Abstract
BMPs and their receptors modulate the granulosa cell (GC) function in the follicle of domestic animals. Since little is known on BMPs in the buffalo, the present study was aimed to investigate the expression of BMP2, 4, 6, 7 and their receptors BMPR1A, BMPR1B, BMPR2 in the GC and theca cells (TC) of ovarian follicles and the role of BMP4 and BMP7 on buffalo GC. Follicles were classified into four groups based on size and E2 level in the follicular fluid as follows: (i) Group1(4-6 mm; <0.5 ng/mL) (ii) Group 2 (7-9 mm; 0.5-5 ng/mL) (iii) Group 3 (10-13 mm; 5-40 ng/mL) and (iv) Group 4 (dominant follicle) (>13 mm; >180 ng/mL). The results revealed that except BMP6, BMP2, 4 7 and receptors BMPR1A, BMPR1B and BMPR2 showed a minimum of 1.5-2 fold increase in mRNA expression in the GC of dominant follicle as compared to other follicle classes. In the dominant follicle, a two-fold increase in BMP4 and BMP7 expression was observed in the TC. At 100 ng/mL, the BMP4 and BMP7 either alone or in combination maximally down-regulated CASPASE3 and stimulated the transcripts of PCNA, FSHR and CYP19A1 that was supported by E2 secretion in the granulosa cell culture suggesting their role in cell survival and E2 production. In conclusion, GC and TC of dominant follicles express BMP 2, 4, 6, 7 and their receptors BMPR1A, BMPR1B and BMPR2. BMP4 and BMP7 stimulate E2 production and promote GC survival.

Abstract
The main objective of this novel study was to develop chlorpheniramine maleate orally disintegrating films (ODF) using hot-melt extrusion technology and evaluate the characteristics of the formulation using in vitro and in vivo methods. Modified starch with glycerol was used as a polymer matrix for melt extrusion. Sweetening and saliva-simulating agents were incorporated to improve palatability and lower the disintegration time of film formulations. A standard screw configuration was applied, and the last zone of the barrel was opened to discharge water vapors, which helped to manufacture non-sticky, clear, and uniform films. The film formulations demonstrated rapid disintegration times (6-11s) and more than 95% dissolution in 5min. In addition, the films had characteristic mechanical properties that were helpful in handling and storage. An animal model was employed to determine the taste masking of melt-extruded films. The lead film formulation was subjected to a human panel for evaluation of extent of taste masking and disintegration.

Abstract
Six male Tharparkar cattle aged 2-3 years were selected for the study. The animals were acclimatized in the psychrometric chamber at thermoneutral zone (TNZ) for 15 days and then exposed to 42 °C temperature up to 23 days followed by 12 days of recovery period. Physiological responses were estimated, and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) were isolated at TNZ on day 1, day 5, and day 12; after 6 h of heat stress exposure on day 16 to day 20, day 25, day 30, day 32, day 34, day 36, and day 38; and a recovery period on day 45 and day 50. The PBMCs were cultured to study the effect of thermal challenge on HSP70 messenger RNA (mRNA) expression pattern at different temperature-time combinations. The mRNA and protein expression of HSP70 in PBMCs along with serum extracellular HSP70 (eHSP70) was increased (P < 0.05) and showed two peaks on day 17 and day 32 (2nd and 17th days of thermal challenge, respectively). The HSP70 mRNA expression was increased (P < 0.05) in a temperature- and time-dependent manner in heat stress challenge treatment as compared to control in cultured PBMCs. HSP70 expression was found to be higher (P < 0.05) after 10 days of heat exposure (corresponds to chronic heat stress) as compared to the first 5 days of heat stress (corresponds to short-term heat stress) and control period at TNZ. The present findings indicate that HSP70 is possibly involved in heat stress adaptive response in Tharparkar cattle and the biphasic expression pattern may be providing a second window of protection during chronic heat stress.

Abstract
This Letter reports new results on muon neutrino disappearance from NOvA, using a 14 kton detector equivalent exposure of 6.05×10^{20} protons on target from the NuMI beam at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. The measurement probes the muon-tau symmetry hypothesis that requires maximal θ_{23} mixing (θ_{23}=π/4). Assuming the normal mass hierarchy, we find Δm_{32}^{2}=(2.67±0.11)×10^{-3} eV^{2} and sin^{2}θ_{23} at the two statistically degenerate values 0.404_{-0.022}^{+0.030} and 0.624_{-0.030}^{+0.022}, both at the 68% confidence level. Our data disfavor the maximal mixing scenario with 2.6σ significance.

Abstract
Magnetic field-directed self-assembly of magnetic particles in chains is useful for developing directionally responsive materials for applications in soft robotics. Using materials with greater complexity allows advanced functions, while still using simple device architectures. Elastomer films containing chained magnetic microparticles were prepared through solvent casting and formed into magnetically actuated lifters, accordions, valves, and pumps. Chaining both enhances actuation and imparts a directional response. Cantilevers used as lifters were able to lift up to 50 times the mass of the polymer film. We introduce the "specific torque", the torque per field per mass of magnetic particles, as a figure of merit for assessing and comparing the performance of lifters and related devices. Devices in this work generated specific torques of 68 Nm/kgT, which is significantly higher than in previously reported actuators. Applying magnetic fields to folded accordion structures caused extension and compression, depending on the accordion's orientation. In peristaltic pumps comprised of composite tubes containing embedded chains, magnetic fields caused a section of the tube to pinch closed where the field was applied. These results will facilitate both the further development of soft robots based on chained magnetic particles and efforts to engineer materials with higher specific torque.

Abstract
The present study investigated the combined effect of fibroblast growth factor 2 (FGF2) and vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A) on estradiol (E2) secretion and relative abundance of mRNA for aromatase enzyme (CYP19A1), proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) and BCL-2 associated X protein (BAX) in cultured buffalo granulosa cells (GCs). Follicles were isolated and classified into four groups based on size and E2 concentration in follicular fluid (FF): Small, 4-6mm diameter, E2<0.5ng/ml; Medium, 7-9mm, E2=0.5-5ng/ml; Large, 10-13mm, E2=5-40ng/ml; Preovulatory (PFs), >14mm, E2>180ng/ml. The GCs of PF were cultured in 24 well cell culture plates and allowed to become 75-80% confluent. Then cultured GCs were treated with FGF2 (200ng/ml) and VEGF-A (100ng/ml) separately and in combination for three incubation periods (24, 48 and 72h). Estradiol secretion was greater in GCs treated with FGF2+VEGF-A compared to FGF2 or VEGF-A at all incubation periods and was greatest (P<0.05) at 72h of incubation. The relative abundance of CYP19A1 and PCNA mRNA were relatively consistent with the amount E2 secretion. In contrast, the relative abundance of Bax mRNA was less in GCs treated with the combination of FGF2 and VEGF-A as compared to either FGF2 or VEGF-A alone and the least concentration (P<0.05) was at 72h of incubation. Findings with use of immunocytochemistry of cells treated with these factors were consistent to the relative abundance of mRNA transcript for the factor. The present findings indicate that FGF2 and VEGF-A may function in a synergistic manner to promote steroidogenesis and survival of cultured buffalo GCs.

Abstract
The role of growth factors in the modulation of ovarian function is an interesting area of research in reproductive biology. Recently, we have shown the expression and role of IGF, EGF, VEGF and FGF in the follicle and CL. Here, we report the presence of Bone Morphogenetic Proteins (BMPs) and their functional receptors in the corpus luteum (CL) of buffalo. The bubaline CL was classified into four stages according to the morphology and progesterone (P4) concentration. The qPCR, immunoblot and immunohistochemistry studies revealed that BMP2 and BMP Receptors (BMPR1A, BMPR1B and BMPR2) were significantly upregulated during the mid stage whereas BMP4 and BMP7 were upregulated during the early stage of CL (P<0.05). Studies on primary luteal cell culture (LCC) using mid CL showed a significant time and concentration dependent effect of BMP4 and BMP7 (P<0.05). At 100ngml-1, the BMPs maximally stimulated the transcripts of StAR, CYP11A1 and 3βHSD that paralleled with P4 accretion in the media (P<0.05). Further, the BMP4 as well as BMP7 upregulated the transcripts of PCNA and downregulated CASPASE3 in the LCC at the same concentration (P<0.05). Though the combined effect of BMP4 and 7 was significantly higher (P<0.05) than that of individual one, it was not additive. In conclusion, the expression of BMPs and their receptors were dependent on the stages of CL in the buffalo. Treatment of LCC with BMPs in vitro confirmed the presence of functional receptors that stimulated the P4 production and luteal cell survival. Moreover, the results support the concept that the upregulation of P4 and its biosynthetic pathway enzymes such as CYP11A1, StAR and 3βHSD in the CL is likely due to the autocrine and /or paracrine effects of BMP4 and BMP7 under physiological milieu.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Tobacco use is responsible for a considerable number of morbidity and mortality in the world. Annually 14,000 deaths are attributed to tobacco use in Nepal. Despite having social acceptability of tobacco in Nepalese society, little has been known about tobacco use among rural women. The aim of this study was to report the prevalence of and examine the factors associated with tobacco consumption among women of reproductive age in a rural community of Dailekh district of Nepal. MATERIALS AND METHODS It was descriptive, cross-sectional study carried out among women of reproductive age in the rural community of Dailekh district. A random sampling was used to obtain 110 women aged 15-49 years. RESULTS More than two in five were tobacco user and among them 4 in 5 used smoked form of tobacco. This study showed early initiation of tobacco using habit (mean: 14.96 year) where 92% of participants initiated <19 years. Influencing factors for initiation of tobacco use was peer's pressure (95.8%), and respondents reported that they used tobacco to reduce stress (37.5%). CONCLUSION Tobacco using pattern was high in reproductive age group women. Knowledge and perceptions on tobacco use were poor. Hence, an effective and appropriate community based awareness programs are required to discourage the use of tobacco.

Abstract
Searches for a light sterile neutrino have been performed independently by the MINOS and the Daya Bay experiments using the muon (anti)neutrino and electron antineutrino disappearance channels, respectively. In this Letter, results from both experiments are combined with those from the Bugey-3 reactor neutrino experiment to constrain oscillations into light sterile neutrinos. The three experiments are sensitive to complementary regions of parameter space, enabling the combined analysis to probe regions allowed by the Liquid Scintillator Neutrino Detector (LSND) and MiniBooNE experiments in a minimally extended four-neutrino flavor framework. Stringent limits on sin^{2}2θ_{μe} are set over 6 orders of magnitude in the sterile mass-squared splitting Δm_{41}^{2}. Abstract
We report results of a search for oscillations involving a light sterile neutrino over distances of 1.04 and 735 km in a ν_{μ}-dominated beam with a peak energy of 3 GeV. The data, from an exposure of 10.56×10^{20} protons on target, are analyzed using a phenomenological model with one sterile neutrino. We constrain the mixing parameters θ_{24} and Δm_{41}^{2} and set limits on parameters of the four-dimensional Pontecorvo-Maki-Nakagawa-Sakata matrix, |U_{μ4}|^{2} and |U_{τ4}|^{2}, under the assumption that mixing between ν_{e} and ν_{s} is negligible (|U_{e4}|^{2}=0). No evidence for ν_{μ}→ν_{s} transitions is found and we set a world-leading limit on θ_{24} for values of Δm_{41}^{2}≲1 eV^{2}.

Abstract
The aim of the present study was to demonstrate the modulatory role of leptin on bubaline granulosa cells (GCs) and luteal cells (LCs) functions using an in vitro cell culture system and to establish a cross talk between leptin and insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1). GCs were collected from group IV follicles (>13 mm size) and LCs from mid-luteal phase corpus luteum and were grown in serum-containing media supplemented with leptin at three different dose rates (0.1, 1, and 10 ng/mL) and time durations (24, 48, and 72 hours). We evaluated the production and secretion of estradiol (E2) and progesterone (P4) using RIA and the mRNA expression of steroidogenic acute regulatory protein (STARD1), cytochrome P450 cholesterol side-chain cleavage (CYP11A1), 3β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (3β-HSD), cytochrome P450 aromatase (CYP19A1), sterol regulatory element-binding protein 1 (SREBP1), steroidogenic factor-1 (SF1), anti-apoptotic gene PCNA, pro-apoptotic gene caspase 3 and endothelial cell marker, Von Willebrand factor (vWF), using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. The results depicted a direct inhibitory action of leptin on GCs steroidogenesis in a time-dependent manner (P < 0.05), whereas in the presence of IGF-1 the inhibitory effect was reverted. Furthermore, leptin augmented both cellular proliferation (PCNA) and apoptosis (caspase 3). On the other hand, in LCs, leptin alone showed an apparent stimulatory effect on steroidogenesis (P < 0.05); however, in the presence of IGF-1, an antagonistic effect was witnessed. Moreover, leptin had an inhibitory effect on apoptosis while promoted cellular proliferation and angiogenesis. These findings were further strengthened by immunocytochemistry. To conclude, these observations for the first time reported that in buffaloes leptin has a direct dose-, time-, and tissue-dependent effect on ovarian steroidogenesis, angiogenesis, and cytoprotection, and furthermore, it can regulate the effect of systemic factors like IGF-1. Hence, this in vitro study provides an insight into the putative roles of leptin alone and its interactions in vivo.

Abstract
We report results from the first search for ν_{μ}→ν_{e} transitions by the NOvA experiment. In an exposure equivalent to 2.74×10^{20} protons on target in the upgraded NuMI beam at Fermilab, we observe 6 events in the Far Detector, compared to a background expectation of 0.99±0.11(syst) events based on the Near Detector measurement. A secondary analysis observes 11 events with a background of 1.07±0.14(syst). The 3.3σ excess of events observed in the primary analysis disfavors 0.1π<δ_{CP}<0.5π in the inverted mass hierarchy at the 90% C.L.

We report selective and directional actuation of elastomer films utilizing magnetic anisotropy introduced by chains of Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs). Under uniform magnetic fields or field gradients, dipolar interactions between the MNPs favor magnetization along the chain direction and cause selective lifting. This mechanism is described using a simple model.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Alcohol consumption has grown up sharply over the past decades in Nepal. Conversely, little is known about this phenomenon among the urban poor. We assessed pattern, frequency, context, and type of alcohol consumption among the urban poor of Nepal. METHODS We executed a cross-sectional study, taking 422 households from four squatter settlements of Kathmandu Valley. Modified Nepalese version standard questionnaire was used for data collection. Data was objectively analyzed in SPSS full version 19. RESULTS The study reported 39.81% (95% CI: 32.41-47.21) current drinkers, with male (65.99%, 95% CI: 57.85-74.13) outnumbering female (16.89%, 95% CI: 4.98-28.80). One out of ten drinkers drank daily (male: 13.08%, female: 13.16%). A third (30.36%) of all current drinkers acknowledged drinking more than one type of alcohol (male: 28.46%, female: 36.84%). Nearly half (47.60%) of the drinkers drank in social gathering (male: 47.90%, female: 47.60%). Home was the place of drinking for nearly one-fifth (18.60%) of the drinkers. Males most commonly drank alcohol with their friends (34.60%), whereas female drank with family members (25.60%). Nearly half of the drinkers drank during evening hour (45.24%). Multivariable analysis detected likelihood of drinking 5.86 times (95% CI: 2.50-13.72) in male and 3.16 times (95% CI: 1.39-7.13) in those with family history of alcohol. CONCLUSIONS We found high prevalence of alcohol consumption than the national average among the urban poor with a marked gender difference by pattern. Gender sensitive alcohol prevention and control programs need a greater start.

Abstract
A multifunctional gold nanorod (AuNR) complex is described with potential utility for theranostic anticancer treatment. The AuNR was functionalized with cyclodextrin for encapsulation of doxorubicin, with folic acid for targeting, and with a photo-responsive dextran-azo compound for intracellular controlled drug release. The interaction of a AuNR complex with HeLa cells was facilitated via a folic acid targeting ligand as displayed in the dark-field images of cells. Enhanced anticancer efficacy was demonstrated through the synergistic combination of promoted drug release upon ultraviolet (UV) light irradiation and photothermal therapy upon infrared (IR) irradiation. This multifunctional AuNR-based system represents a novel theranostic strategy for spatiotemporal delivery of anticancer therapeutics.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR TB) caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis resistant to both Isoniazid and Rifampicin with or without resistant to other drug, is among the most alarming pandemic problem. The objectives of this study was to assess the risk factors of MDR TB in Central Nepal. METHODS A matched case control study was conducted among 186 cases of MDR TB and 372 non-MDR TB controls from central region of Nepal. Pretested questionnaires containing socio-economic, cultural & behavioral; environmental, biological and health service factors were used. Variables significant in bivariate analysis were entered in multiple regression models for further analysis. RESULTS After adjusting for confounders, previous smoking habit (aOR= 4.5,(95%CI(1.24-16.2)) (p=0.04), and perceived social discrimination (aOR=5.83,95%CI (1.77-19.71)) (P=0.021) independently predicted greater MDR TB risk. CONCLUSIONS Encouraging MDR TB cases for smoking cessation through awareness activities should be a priority. Stigma reduction programs should include the empowerment of patients and communities while promoting TBrelated research for further exploration into the risk factors of TB and associated stigma.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Nepal is not an exception to alcohol use; urban poor are more prone than the general population. The question of social consequences of alcohol use among urban poor remains largely unanswered in Nepal. Study explored the alcohol linked social consequences among the urban poor of Kathmandu Valley. METHODS Taking 422 urban poor from four squatter settlements of Kathmandu Valley, a cross-sectional study was carried out. A series of univariate and bivariate analysis were performed in R version 3.1.2. RESULTS Four out of 10 current drinkers (42.86%, 95% CI: 31.4-54.3) encountered various social consequences. The number one consequence hitting 23.19% drinkers was money loss. Male drinkers were 4.43 times (95% CI: 1.810.8) more likely to face social consequences than their female counterparts. Being male frequent drinker increased the odds of social consequence 3.80 times (95% CI:1.3-11.0) than that of female frequent drinker. CONCLUSIONS A behaviour change communication campaign needs initiation; male populace and frequent drinkers being the target.

Abstract
Pure phase exchange-coupled nanocomposites of hard-soft magnetic oxides, (hard) SrFe10Al2O19(-) (soft) Ni0.75Zn0.25Fe2O4 were prepared via autocombution method. Magnetic properties of the nanocomposites were assessed as a function of soft-phase content in the nanocomposite. A 40% increase in M(s) value was observed for nanocomposite with 30 Wt.% of the soft phase. A linear increase in M(r)/M(s) with soft-phase content indicates the presence of enhanced exchange-coupling between hard and soft phases of the nanocomposite. The highest M(r)/M(s) ratio of 0.68 was obtained for nanocomposite containing 30 Wt.% of the soft-phase. The observed reduction in coercieve field values of the nanocomposite with increase in soft-phase content is explained on the basis of competition between exchange and dipolar interaction between hard-soft and soft-soft phases of the nanocomposite.

Abstract
We report on a new analysis of neutrino oscillations in MINOS using the complete set of accelerator and atmospheric data. The analysis combines the ν(μ) disappearance and ν(e) appearance data using the three-flavor formalism. We measure |Δm(32)(2)| = [2.28-2.46] × 10(-3) eV(2) (68% C.L.) and sin(2)θ(23) = 0.35-0.65 (90% C.L.) in the normal hierarchy, and |Δm(32)(2)| = [2.32-2.53] × 10(-3) eV(2) (68% C.L.) and sin(2)θ(23) = 0.34-0.67 (90% C.L.) in the inverted hierarchy. The data also constrain δ(CP), the θ(23} octant degeneracy and the mass hierarchy; we disfavor 36% (11%) of this three-parameter space at 68% (90%) C.L.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Mass drug administration (MDA) has been implemented in Nepal since 2003 for elimination of Lymphatic Filariasis (LF). The objective of this study was to explore the factors that determine the non-compliance to MDA for Lymphatic Filariasis elimination in endemic districts of Nepal. METHODS A cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out in three endemic districts namely Dhading, Kapilvastu and Kailali. A total of 900 people were interviewed with structured questionnaire. RESULTS The result shows that the respondents who knew the DEC contains Albendazole (84.9% vs 42.5%, P<0.001, Adjusted OR=2.89(1.946-4.29) at 95% CI), who were aware of MDA campaign (78.2% vs 33.8% P<0.001, Adjusted OR=2.87(1.73-4.74) at 95% CI), who were visited by health workers at their home during MDA campaign (75.9% vs 24.1% P<0.001, Adjusted OR=4.85(2.448-9.594) at 95% CI) had significantly higher compliance. The respondents who had knowledge of side effects during MDA campaign had lower prevalence of non-compliance as compared who did not have (9.4% vs 33.2%, P<0.001). CONCLUSIONS Advanced age, primary or below education, ever married, inadequate knowledge on drug, inadequate awareness on MDA, no home visit by health workers during MDA, no belief on MDA drugs were significantly associated with higher non-compliance to MDA. In future, MDA program should focus on awareness campaigns related to composition of drugs, side effects of drugs and compulsory home visit during the campaign.

Abstract
Gold nanorods (GNRs) exhibit a tunable longitudinal surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) that depends on the GNR aspect ratio (AR). Independently controlling the AR and size of GNRs remains challenging but is important because the scattering intensity strongly depends on the GNR size. Here, we report a secondary (seeded) growth procedure, wherein continuous addition of ascorbic acid (AA) to a stirring solution of GNRs, stabilized by cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) and synthesized by a common GNR growth procedure, deposits the remaining (~70%) of the Au precursor onto the GNRs. The growth phase of GNR synthesis is often performed without stirring, since stirring has been believed to reduce the yield of rod-shaped nanoparticles, but we report that stirring coupled with continuous addition of AA during secondary growth allows improved control over the AR and size of GNRs. After a common primary GNR growth procedure, the LSPR of GNRs is ~820 nm, which can be tuned between ~700-880 nm during secondary growth by adjusting the rate of AA addition or adding benzyldimethylhexadecylammonium chloride hydrate (BDAC). This approach for secondary growth can also be used with primary GNRs of different ARs to achieve different LSPRs and can likely be extended to nanoparticles of different shapes and other metals.

Abstract
The p-n junction photocatalyst, p-CuO/n-ZnO, was prepared via ball milling of ZnO and CuO nanoparticles in water. The structural, optical, and surface properties of the p-n junction photocatalyst p-CuO/n-ZnO were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), UV-Vis spectroscopy, and Zeta potential analyzer. The Photocatalytic activity of the photocatalyst was evaluated via photocatalytic oxidation of Methylene Blue (MB) in the presence of UV light. This study demonstrates a novel p-n junction oxide photocatalyst p-CuO (wt. 10%)/n-ZnO having superior photocatalytic activity (PCA) for the degradation of model dye under the illumination of UV-Vis light. The MB solution was only PCA, degraded by 100% within 15 min by the use of CuO (wt. 10%)/ZnO photocatalyst. Effectivley 365% increase in degradation rate constant was noticed for CuO (10 Wt.%)/ZnO nanocomposite as compared to that of pure ZnO nanoparticles. The enhanced PCA is anticipated from the presence of many micro p-n junctions formed between ZnO-CuO nanoparticles upon ball milling, which helps in efficient electron/hole pair charge separation upon excitation. The study highlights the fact that PCA of p-n junction CuO/ZnO photocatalyst can be effectively tuned by manipulating the interface of the heterostructure and by adjusting the parameters affecting the PCA. The result obtained from PCA is further verified by the zeta potential study.

Abstract
We have studied the dependence of atom transfer between two magneto-optical traps (MOTs) on the spot-size of a push laser beam in a double magneto-optical trap setup. It was observed that the spot-size of the push beam at vapor-chamber MOT (VC-MOT) affects significantly the transfer of atoms from the VC-MOT to an ultrahigh vacuum MOT (UHV-MOT). The number of atoms accumulated in the UHV-MOT first increases with the push beam spot-size and then decreases with it after attaining a maximum value, for a given power of the push beam. Our results show that the number of atoms accumulated in the UHV-MOT is dependent on the push beam spot-size, push beam power, and capture speed of the UHV-MOT.

Abstract
We report measurements of oscillation parameters from ν(μ) and ν(μ) disappearance using beam and atmospheric data from MINOS. The data comprise exposures of 10.71×10(20) protons on target in the ν(μ)-dominated beam, 3.36×10(20) protons on target in the ν(μ)-enhanced beam, and 37.88 kton yr of atmospheric neutrinos. Assuming identical ν and ν oscillation parameters, we measure |Δm2| = (2.41(-0.10)(+0.09))×10(-3) eV2 and sin2(2θ) = 0.950(-0.036)(+0.035). Allowing independent ν and ν oscillations, we measure antineutrino parameters of |Δm2| = (2.50(-0.25)(+0.23))×10(-3) eV2 and sin2(2θ) = 0.97(-0.08)(+0.03), with minimal change to the neutrino parameters.

Abstract
We report on ν(e) and ν(e) appearance in ν(μ) and ν(μ) beams using the full MINOS data sample. The comparison of these ν(e) and ν(e) appearance data at a 735 km baseline with θ13 measurements by reactor experiments probes δ, the θ23 octant degeneracy, and the mass hierarchy. This analysis is the first use of this technique and includes the first accelerator long-baseline search for ν(μ) → ν(e). Our data disfavor 31% (5%) of the three-parameter space defined by δ, the octant of the θ23, and the mass hierarchy at the 68% (90%) C.L. We measure a value of 2sin(2)(2θ13)sin(2)(θ23) that is consistent with reactor experiments.

We report an improved measurement of ν(μ) disappearance over a distance of 735 km using the MINOS detectors and the Fermilab Main Injector neutrino beam in a ν(μ)-enhanced configuration. From a total exposure of 2.95×10(20) protons on target, of which 42% have not been previously analyzed, we make the most precise measurement of Δm2=[2.62(-0.28)(+0.31)(stat)±0.09(syst)]×10(-3) eV2 and constrain the ν(μ) mixing angle sin2(2θ)>0.75 (90% C.L.). These values are in agreement with Δm2 and sin2(2θ) measured for ν(μ), removing the tension reported in [P. Adamson et al. (MINOS), Phys. Rev. Lett. 107, 021801 (2011).].

Abstract
We present our results on transfer of cold (87)Rb atoms from a vapor cell magneto-optical trap to ultrahigh vacuum magneto-optical trap (UHV-MOT) using a red-detuned continuous wave push beam in a double-magneto-optical trap setup. We find that use of retro-reflected red-detuned push laser beam results in higher number in UHV-MOT than the number obtained without retro-reflection of push beam.

Abstract
Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) emerged as a nosocomial pathogen in early 1960s, causing Increasing number of outbreaks in 19708, first reported in a teaching hospital in Malaysia in 1972, causing increased mortality, morbidity, and healthcare costs. Aim of this study is to screen out MRSA from various clinical samples and to see their antibiotic susceptibility pattern. From May 2008 to May 2009, 204 S aureus strains were isolated, out of which 114 (55.8%) were MRSA, and rest methicillin-sensitive Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA). Most of the MRSA strains were obtained from pus (45%) followed by urine (20.5%). Frequency of isolating MRSA were maximum in catheter tip (80%) followed by blood (66.7%) and pus (58.7%). MRSA strains were showing 100% sensitivity to vancomycin and Iinezolid, whereas 92.9% to teicoplanin. Therefore it is concluded that antibiotics other than vancomycin can be used as anti-MRSA agents after sensitivity test, as well as irrational and indiscriminate use of antibiotics can be avoided.
